I love how Hazbin Hotel brushed over Angel Dust’s drug use, because in the eyes of the show drug use isn’t something very traumatic, leads to much more vulnerable to human and sex trafficking, SA, and abusive relationships. I'm pretty sure they wiped Epic and his papyrus out of the comic just so they wouldn't have to deal with them anymore.

I don’t know if they are or not, because shipping Frans (or used to) and using f slurs while they actively seem to really really hate any gay ships but is very okay with lesbian ships seems a little strange. The asker and yugo didn’t say they shipped Epic x XGaster or were okay with that, they say were okay with Epic Gaster x XGaster. I don’t know what their issue is with their own characters and people liking them, but I think yugo probably needs to set some boundaries with fans if they haven’t already.

getting annoyed when people bring up or ask about the characters you made seems pretty strange to me, it’s just a sign that people really like your character enough to be obsessed with them, but i can understand if they got annoyed if epic was all anyone focused on and not any of the other characters. but in that case, they should probably just delete anything they get about epic (from fans) they don’t want to see or answer.

but to allow your emotions and fans like of your character to cause you to change a story, or erase or get rid of the character, just to spite the fans/character or just so you don’t have to deal with them seems very odd to me. perhaps yugo needs to take a step back from the Epictale “fanbase” and stop engaging with it.

they can’t control what fans do with their work and characters as soon as it leaves their own eyesight, and they’d be better off not stressing over it. and fans should respect them, and stop bringing fandom stuff to them like ships or asking their opinions on ships—no one needs a creator’s opinion on a ship.

epic is a different thing, since he’s literally a character in the story, and a sans at that—which of course means people will bring him up and ask about him. if they don’t want to answer anything about epic, they should make that very clear and then don’t answer. Not answer just to give annoyed, passive aggressive replies. I think it’s sad when creators allow a fanbase to taint and affect their feelings about their work.

To get a populace to believe any of these things are ok or even to think it's good, propaganda is used, a group of people is villanized and considered dangerous, they are blamed for problems that have nothing to do with them

Elves and the faithful are the ones who are villanized in this case

Now obviously they're not teaching first age history as it was, with the faithful and elves fighting against morgoths evil, true history is distorted and erased in late stage Numenor

So let's talk about how different events are taught in mid to late stage Numenor!

Elros Tar-Minyataur

-Elros is still greatly admired by the people of Numenor but late stage Numenor changes almost every fact about him

-They erase him being Half-Elven, his pointed ears are broken off of statues of him are replaced with rounded ears, him being a Peredhel is called an "elvish lie" They argue he was a full Atani and the reason he lived so long is Namo was afraid of him (Late stage Numenor blames Namo for death existing, rather than him being the keeper of the dead)

-In Ar-pharazôn's rule Elros is depicted as a blonde, for 3 main reasons: To make him and Elrond look less alike, to make him look more like Earendil, (They portay Elwing as unimportant and useless) and because I hc Pharazon as blonde and he wanted to make himself seem like the legitimate king instead of Tar-Miriel (who is dark haired)

-Elrond Peredhel is villanized and hated, he was banned from the island 20 years before elves were, he is called a liar for saying Elros us his brother and that the Numenoreans are his kin

-They don't have a good opinion of Peredhel in general

Luthien Tinuviel and Beren Erchamion

-Elves are fetishized before they are hated (both are dehumanizing, of course) Luthien in mid stage Numenor is generally only described with her beauty and her accomplishments are erased, Beren is portrayed liberating Tol Sirion instead of Luthien, her power in song is erased

-Sindarin is banned and so Morwen is given an Adûnaic name which translates to "Witch"

-Aerin is depicted as marrying Brodda of her own free will

-Their marriage is depicted as a loving one

-They still teach the part about Aerin bringing Morwen food but write it as Aerin being under a spell cast by Morwen

-All of Aerin's agency and bravery is erased

Especially when this character has very likely not felt any kind or comforting touch that wasn’t just a way to keep him further manipulated and controlled? How his experiences with abuse and torture and control have become so normalized it taints every aspect of his life, from the ideas of consent to the idea of boundaries.

Can he even feel much sensation that is too gentle, would it send him reeling in discomfort and disgust at first. would he hate how his body reacts even if it’s something that feels good—wouldn’t he feel viscerally unsettled if someone could provoke bodily reactions like flushing cheeks or a beating “soul beat” or even genuine arousal from him.
