Ever since we got a chimera Falin introject, it feels like the Marcille from her exomemories has been clawing at the wall of our headspace. To celebrate "Draw a terrible comic day" we decided to draw that experience to share with all of you! Heehee!

In 1st place, we have both Maya St. Fleur, the ex-demolition psychic therapist who'll blow your mind, and Jilly Bean, the sweet and sour totally emotionless villain reformer.

In 2nd place, we have Pan Kokoro, the spunky one-off episode alter of the body swapping protag Pan Yu.

And in 3rd place, we have Yuni Yoshinaga (and Yuki Fujisaki), the caring delinquent that accidentally get an identity swap/transition speedrun.

Ty/Felix for the ship bingo?

Oh my god Toad are you caught up did you hear them in the last episode.

Ahem... Yep. I'm so normal about TyFe.

I think the whole many Ty's and one Felix situation makes this ship particularly interesting. Also the uneven power balance but, not exactly in the way you'd think? Like Ty is technically Felix's boss but also the Ty Betteridge section of the compound would have fallen apart multiple times over without Felix. Def one of those relationships in woe.begone that is hard to pin down but very interesting.

1 How many books did you read this year?

Well, the year's not over yet and it sort of depends where you draw the line between something being a book or a zine or whatever, but I'm currently counting it as 37. Hoping to finish The Nice and the Good soon though.

3 What were your top five books of the year?

Ooh, I'm very bad at ranking things but I'm going to arbitrarily say Claire Dederer - Monsters, Anne Boyer - Garments Against Women, Miranda July - All Fours, Hilary White - Holes, and Don DeLillo - White Noise. Listed in order of when I read them. But 1982, Janine or Humboldt's Gift or Zone One or Goblinhood or Thank You For Everything could all totally be equally deserving of a spot on the list, if TYFE counts as a book. And I think the Nice and the Good will be among my favourites once I've finished it.

I'm going to give my own little assessment on bits of info revealed in my decoding of the codex, so read before or alongside for context, but I will give the overall summary from the end of this above the cut.

Overall theme seems to be that obsession whittles you down until there's nothing left and what's left is something else, no longer you. Parker thinks it's pure. In the world of Zampanio, this process seems to be able cause physical change or metamorphosis as seen in Wodin to Wanda.

Witherby is described as just some guy. The wording is similar to how the Intern is described. Doubt this is relevant, but still suspicious given this work's themes of changing self.

The Twins showcase how sometimes that seeing through the void could obscure things, in reference to the blackout poem like writing Neville made of Devona's information, but maybe a larger theme.

Yongki's story details are incoherent to me. "Any mirror that reflects him (Yongki) captures you, takes you, replaces you with you. The you here is confusing. Is it referring to the audience? Literally or metaphorically? Is it referring to Wanderer who can only be described with "you" pronouns? IDK, but it brings up themes of the self changing.

K is an attention whore and will sell his soul for attention (this is a joking way to refer to it, but yeah, the selling soul may reflect back on the themes of changing self.

Vik's (_'s) entry says that if giving oneself to something else at the sacrifice of what makes you 'you', what is left when that something is gone?

Parker's mentions how being isekai'd twice "sands you down" and "makes you pure". This is in reference to his ascension(?) process where he became detached from the things he knew.

Wanda's is pretty on theme. They wandered "Truth's Temple", whittling down parts of themselves until there was nothing left, then went through a literal transformation into Wanda, emerging as a Lord class (as referenced in the Quotidian details), and retroactively always making Zampanio when the Flower helped her out of her depression.

Quotidian's story section reveals these guys are actually manifestations of web-crawler bots Wodin original made, attendants to fit Wanda's needs. There's also some swayed by other False Creators. No clue there yet.

Zampanio: This long section described the process memetically spreads through other fandoms. There is the line "If Memes are the DNA of the Soul…what is Zampanio doing to outs?" implying the memetic properties of Zampanio is changing the one interacting with it in ways.

Also, there is a list of things JR has seen crossover with Zampanio. Like with how knowledge of Sburb, Lobotomy Corps, and Magus Archives may help with understanding Zampanio, these may help further understanding.

To give the more unknown examples. One is rain world. This is where the slug cats the Herald uses comes from I believe. "The Obscure Game" I have no clue about. There's a 2004 survival horror game named ObsCure, but I feel that specific spelling would be used if it was referencing that. There is an itchio game called "An Obscure Game" which is the closest thing I can find. "Polo" is this referencing the sport? It's so broad I can't find if it means something in specific. "The Way Ahead" looking it up seems to refer to a 1944 British World War II Drama film?? I mean, it wouldn't be the first old movie reference in the zampanio sphere but still.

I don't know why, but I can't decipher what the Novum Mirror actually does. Like a problem of me conceptually grasping it. But if Yongki interacts with it it may allow the alternate universe exponential access to our universe, whatever that means.

Tyrfing: I still don't know his deal much, but he is a follower of Nidhogg stuck in this universe where Nidhogg can't reach. And Rod, Rebel, and Melon are "clones hateful to Tyfings eyes" whatever that means. Maybe has something to do with Wigglersim since that's referenced.

Unending spiraling life (Nidhogg) has no place in Unending spiraling thoughts (inside the Echidna).

📜Everyone, say hi to Yuni Yoshinaga, the MAIN character of a WIP series we've been working on for years, Thank You For Existing!

Local delinquent->trans woman pipeline MC finds out she's in a universe where fiction formed into reality, including her! Explains her weird life...

Ever since we realized we were plural, we've tinkered with depicting plurality in stories in original tales. Yuni/Suki was created from that need, after reworking several of our stories, stitching them back to back, and needing a protagonist to help tie them all together.

We can't begin to tell you how wonderful it is that this character that's been around in our stories for 5-6 years, has finally been able to be realized by us in drawing. This genuinely is a very special drawing to us, and we hope you all enjoy it just the same. 💌

Some Ty/Fe headcanons because I'm thinking about them lately:

Felix is the only person allowed to touch any Ty without needing permission. Ty isn't big on suddenly being hugged or touched without warning, especially in the Compound where his autonomy is nonexistent.

When he's had a particulary bad day, he will sometimes lay his head in Felix's lap and start ranting about things while Felix strokes his hair

Ty's know-it-all trait can be incredibly annoying, but sometimes Felix will show him a movie or an article just to hear him scruntinize it.

Similarily, when Ty wants reassurance that his idea is good, he'll show it to Felix (a sure fire sign he is feeling insecure about his ideas because usually he just does what he wants anyway)

Felix is cautious about letting Ty touch him after spending practically every day watching him torture people. He tries to distract Ty from the fact that he doesn't feel 100% safe around him by focusing on Ty instead - Ty does notice and pretends he doesn't in an attempt to make Fe feel more at ease.

They both know absolutely embarrassing, reputation-destroying secrets about each other.

Pan Kokoro

“I’m Non-Canon and I’m proud!”

Kokoro is your typical filler character; Never appeared in a single chapter of her source, and only a single episode of the show adaptation. The problem therein lies that the peppy girl exists inside the main character’s mind, Pan Yu. Brought to the front just a couple of weeks before the series’s canonical ending, Yu’s wedding, Kokoro is determined to find the space where she fits in best! Can she assert her existence with so many people insisting she’s just a delusional Yu, including Yu’s fiance Bow Botella? Whatever the case is, she’s surprisingly comfortable in both forms she has. Pan Kokoro is the main character of TYFE part 4: Filler Turf.

Maya St. Fleur

“I’m Maya St. Fleur, and I’m gonna blow your mind!”

An ex-demolition woman turned psychic therapist (and a zombie descendant), Maya is employed by a recap therapy organization. Despite this, she’s actually never faced her past grief of losing several close people, choosing to forget instead. Trouble strikes when she needs to attend her own recap therapy, due to an actual total memory loss accident caused by Yuni. With slightly different circumstances, will Maya finally build on her past events? Or simply continue to demolish what shaped her...? Maya is the main character of TYFE Part 1: That’s Life.

Jilly Bean

“I do not feel emotions. I hope that this does not cause you distress of any kind.”

Appearing quite emotionless at first glance, Jilly Bean is actually a severely self destructive individual focused on others first. Much of this stems from her assuming she fakes all of her emotions, when in reality she’s an undiagnosed system with one low emotion alter. She has a tendency of intervening with stories she feels demonizes someone unfairly. This need to be someone else’s anchor has led her into much trouble; the lemon coloring on her body is actually scar tissue for example. With the loss of one reformed villain turned friend, Shirley A. Gonna, Jilly’s low emotion alter gets front stuck, worsening her mindset. She is a recurring character in TYFE.

Nosferatu and Tyrfing... and, for the f/o... oh, you know. priam.

Nosferatu: What class is Anne? What would she turn into? What class would I make her instead?

She’s the Robin replacement so she starts as a Tactician and ends as a Grandmaster! However, she received Myrmidon & Swordmaster training during her time in Chon’sin so she was that for a bit

Tyfing: Does Priam have unique battle dialogue or any other unique interactions along those lines? What is it? How is it triggered?

In the Hot Springs DLC, he does have battle dialogue with Yen’fay & Walhart. The former’s about him being comfortable about vulnerability & defeat, and the latter’s the two wanting to fight each other but always getting interrupted. Other than that, his unique dialogue’s with F!Robin when he’s married to her and Morgan because son boy. 

My favorite crit quote of his though is “FOR THE BLUE FLAME!”
