Never Jump Scare an Imperial
Imperials and Jump Scare pranks (For this list, it's going to involve Commandant Aresko, Taskmaster Grint, Lieutenant Lyste, Agent Kallus, and Grand Admiral Thrawn. I will be sure to make a second list or so to add more imperials.)
Aresko and Grint: You'd have to catch them real off guard to scare them out of their wits. An example being if they're kind of just watching a classic horror movie and are paying so much attention to it, you'd have to go with the element of surprise. A good way to do this is by suddenly swinging a door open when there's a thunderstorm outside and its dark. And if you're lucky and time it at the right time, you can definitely say that it is extremely possible to see someone's soul leave their bodies.
Lyste: The best jump scare prank to pull on Lyste would be the classic spider-tied-to-a-string in a cupboard prank. Everyone learned this when Slavin had been planning on the prank to be set off by Kallus, but it was Lyste who fell for it. Because the next thing anyone knew, there was the sound of the cupboard door being opened, and then Lyste screaming and falling on his back as he's crawling backwards away from the fake spider, looking like a deer caught in headlights.
Kallus: Go inside a room with the lights turned off and hide in a closet or find a box big enough for a person to hide in. And if you change your hiding place every time, you are sure to get him jumping sky high. It gets him every time.
Thrawn: Thrawn doesn't partake in pranks. He deems as being nothing but childish nonsense. However, that doesn't mean that he hasn't had his fair share of falling for any pranks. The incident that is most talked about is the fake insect in the shoe one. He was putting his boots on when he noticed that his left boot felt kind of weird and his foot was definitely touching something that wasn't there before. So, what ended up happening was that he reached into his boot and pulled out whatever it was that was in there. And when he opened his palm, it was something equivalent to a giant roach. But what made it even worse was that this one.... wasn't fake. It was real. Thrawn had yelled something in Cheunh, and then there was the sound of him shooting at the insect.

What Imperials would name their children (SWR edition)
(I'm going to be including some Imperials from the OG Trilogy too, so...yeah this list is going to be separated into probably two parts. Also, these are just my preferred names, so if you think that they'd name their children something different....good for you.)
Captain Slavin
A father of two. A rambunctious eleven year old boy named Viktor, and a seven year old girl named Raven.
Yogar Lyste
He currently only has a five year old daughter. Because he and his wife couldn't decide on what to name her, they decided to name her Lavender because the color of the bundle she was wrapped in was....lavender purple.
Cumberlayne Aresko
In Aresko's case, he has three kids. Twin boys named Kellan and Lycan who are both 16 (with Kellan being the oldest by 4 minutes), and a 5 year old daughter named Luna. His sons take pride at being in their words a lot cooler than their old man, and will gladly nuke anyone's existance if someone made their baby sister cry. They're the reason he's worn out most of the time, but he loves them.
Myles Grint
A six-and-and-a-half son named Jaune, who is often seen following Viktor, Raven, Luna and Lavender around. A bit tall for his age, he took to sports kind of early. His first sport was field hockey.
Maketh Tua
She is also the proud mama of twins. A boy named Orion and a girl named Artemis. Artemis is smart yet shy, while Orion is smart and more open-minded. She takes absolute pride that her kids inherited her wit and intelligence.
Thrawn
Okay...so Thrawn has always been too busy to think about having children of his own. So instead, he's raising his nine year old neice Areyn. His brother just kinda dropped her off one day, with a note explaining that he needed Thrawn to keep her safe until things in the Unknown Regions have calmed down. Which, fair enough. Thrawn adores, and cherishes his neice more than life itself. He has taken a lot of holopics and videos of her and happily shows them to anyone, weither they want to see them or not.
Konstantine
He has a son he named Fennec. Fennec...well he doesn't like his dad. At all. Konstantine doesn't understand why, but one contributing factor could be that the man forced Fennec into a lot of extra-curricular activities. All of which happened at the same time. Because of this, Fennec hasn't had to form any relationships, or keep friendships because he's always too busy!
The Inquisitor
Surprise, surprise, he has a child. Though she's more like his adopted daughter, but still his either way. Her name is simply Emil. A pre-teen, force sensitive girl who mostly keeps to herself and doesn't like confrontations.
Governor Pryce
A son named Keith. Keith doesn't really see eye-to-eye with his mom on most things. Mostly this whole war with the Rebellion and whatnot. A star student at the Imperial Academy, he also keeps to himself. As a way of rebelling against his mom, he's something of a delinquent...if you can even call him that.
Brom Titus
Now Titus' son Benny is a delinquent. The boy gets into fights, and is incredibly off-standish. This is because he has been bullied a lot because of his name, and because of his dad often getting demoted. If he sees anyone bullying anyone, he will immediately go over and put an end to it. This has caused him to gain a bit of a following from kids younger than him, for he's always seen walking with an entourage following after him..

Grint had a baby with a fashionista named Jade, and this was the result I got when I decided to check on him.
All I can say is that his son is freaking cute, look at the cute little guy!
Also, the auto name thing gave Grint's son the name Jaune, I'm not sure how I feel about that.
But on the bright side, Grint is actually very good with kids. (His parenting skill is low but he's a naturally good parent!)

What complaints? - Rebels AU
“And what exactly are you doing here young man?” Ezra Bridger froze as he heard the voice of a woman behind him. The false cadet slowly turned around to find himself standing in front of Maketh Tua, acting governor of Lothal. And hanging around Agent Kallus´s office was probably not the thing she expected from a cadet.
So Ezra quickly straightened his posture. The minister looked at him with a saturnine look on her face, arms crossed and clearly displeased by something that could easily be a problem with the discipline of a cadet. Ezra was glad that these dumb helmets hid their faces, in case he needed to run he still had a chance that his cover was not blown. But best would be to get the minister´s mind busy with something else.
“I...I just wanted to know...if Agent Kallus investigates the commandante.” Now the minister frowned. “And why, if I may ask, should he do so?” she asked, her voice dangerously low and she even made a step closer to the young rebel. He suddenly noticed that the woman was quite tall and surprisingly managed to make him nervous...not as much as a real cadet, but Ezra felt that he really was in trouble, if he could not convince her of his story. Luckily he had seen the sadistic officer and his brute friend in action, at the day he met the Ghost crew. So while he did spin some lies, the foundation was built on truth.
“About the complaints...and how he manages to get away with what he´s doing.” Ezra said, trying to sound both confidant and shy at the same time, probably not the best combination. The minister shook her head. “What complaints? If an officer was accused of misbehavior I´d know. Is this really your excuse for leaving your duty behind?”
Ezra now started to sweat. “If you don´t know...can he you know...hide complaints about himself?” The expression on the minister´s face changed. “The complaints would be processed by...commandante Aresco...he is the one you mean?” she asked Ezra, who nodded as he didn´t trust his voice to hide the relief he felt as the minister now looked doubtful, but her eyes were no longer staring down at Ezra. “How do you know about this?” she suddenly asked and Ezra cursed himself, as he had congratulated himself a bit too early.
“I am a transfer cadet, minister, but the boys from around tell stories about the commandante and the taskmaster. Nobody went into detail...but the two are pretty infamous around town...at least that´s what I heard.” he explained. With all the trouble brewing in the last time, Ezra being a large part of it, the minister seemed to take the bait. Under his hemlet he allowed himself a thin smile, remembering how Aresco and Grint had tried to arrest a simple merchant for treason. If the minister really didn´t know about this...then Ezra might cause some trouble in Lothal´s upper echelons. And it gave him at least a glimmer of hope, if someone in the position of the minister cared for such things enough that she might even do something about it. Ezra would love to hear how Aresco and Glint got taken out by the Empire...that would save them the work to do so later down the road...and if Kallus got distracted with internal problems, that would make it just easier to get his decoder.
Minister Tua seemed a bit lost in thought and didn´t complain when Ezra quietly made his way out. She would look into the commandante and see if that cadet had just handed her a plate full of shit...or if members of the imperial military abused their position for personal gain and by that probably created the unrest that haunted Lothal in the first place.

Been rewatching Rebels because why not... And I have been trying not to love Commandant Aresko and Taskmaster Grint... Like??? Why??? Then the Inquisitor comes out of nowhere and my BDSM side is raging... I need some serious help in my life choices
Tumblr media
Okay, I really try to keep a policy of no judging on this blog, glass houses and all that. But what? I’m sorry, but what? The Inquisitor I kind of get, powerful Sith with Jason Isaacs’ voice; there’s a logic there. But Commentant Aresko? Taskmaster Grint? Have some standard of your Imperials!

Lieutenant Durrik Phrell was the ranking ISB officer on Lothal prior to the arrival of Agent Kallus. Since that time he has found himself sidelined in almost every operation, as Kallus has sought to take all the credit himself, elevating his own importance in the eyes of superiors such as Governor Tarkin and Lord Vader. Phrell believes that Kallus was instrumental in the deaths of Taskmaster Grint and Commandant Aresko, although he, Phrell, has not been able to find substantiating evidence. Phrell has had enough, and will use this opportunity to try to undermine the current operation that Kallus is leading personally. Phrell has been informed by an Imperial counter-slicing team that his ISB credentials are being used at the Ministry. He has surreptitiously substituted Agent Kallus’ credentials for his own on the records. He believes that capturing this minor group of troublemakers will barely be noticed, but allowing their escape during Kallus’ operation will further cement Kallus’ incompetence, or even complicity. -No Safe Haven (Rancor Publishing; www.rpg.buzz/)

How would the imperials react to a s/o that's shorter than them?
How would the imperials react to a s/o that has bad anxiety?
How would the imperials react to a s/o that's a cuddly cinnamon roll, but also scary when angry?
Please include Admiral Konstantine
I kinda combined both the first ask with the third, because I honestly think they fit together. I will make a separate post for the second ask to avoid this one getting too long.
1. Imperials react to a s/o who is short, yet is also a cuddly cinnamon roll who is terrifying when angry
Admiral Konstantine - He is more or less kind of partially to blame for when you're angry, because this man honestly says the wrong things when you are in the area. And may the ancient ones help him if whatever nonsense he says comes back to you. It's also worse because a lot of your fellow officers kind of treat you as if you're a child because you are rather short for your age (even when the boots are designed to make whoever's wearing them be at least a few inches taller than what they are.) Konstantine tries his best to make you calm down, and surprise, it works. Because even though you glare daggers at him for half the things he says, you can never stay mad at him. You also get back at him for making you mad by constantly clinging onto him and just being cuddly when he's trying to be serious, though he eventually caves. He always does.
Taskmaster Grint - He finds it adorable. Grint is the type of man who loves small things, because he finds them to be adorable. So, when you came into his life, and when he found out that you are a cuddle bug, he feels like he has just witnessed something amazing. When he sees you angry however, even he's a little terrfied because he could never imagine something so cute, be so....angry. When your anger is not directed towards anyone though, and you're more or less just ranting on about something that doesn't make sense to you, he is definitely just thinking about how lucky he is to have such an adorable s/o. Be warned though, he does like to wrap you up in blankets and just carry you around the house sometimes, so even if you aren't the one to initiate cuddles, you have to start expecting him to be the one to do so. However, you do not mind since cuddling with Myles just means you get to spend more time with him than focusing on blasted paperwork all day.
Lieutenant Lyste - Baby boy Lyste often has to hold you back when you're in a fit of fury caused by someone who rubbed you the wrong way. He has to tell you multiple times that the person you want to flay alive is not worth it, until you calm down. When he learns that you also live for cuddles, that gives him a bit of an idea. So, what ended up happening the next time you were being an indignant tornado of fury, was that he simply held you in his arms and just started snuggling the heck out of you. Giving you kisses, the whole nine yards. This proves very effective and you're more or less putty in his hands and happily cuddling him back while everyone else is just like "what the hell just happened???"
Grand Admiral Thrawn - This man, honestly finds your anger to be amusing. He honestly doesn't take you seriously sometimes when you are angry, but don't take it personally. Because after you are done with your tangent of rage, he will actually look into it personally to make sure that whatever it is that you were going off about is actually true facts. And if it was, he would be sure to deal with it himself. However, don't try to be cuddly with him, because he turns into an unbendable statue when you try. It's not like he doesn't enjoy it when you try to be cuddly with him, it's just that he doesn't know what to do. The best that he will do is wrap his arms around you and keep you close, but that's about it.
Captain Slavin - Slavin often tries his best to not get on your bad side, because he knows that the chances of you exploding on him are dangerously high, even though he knows that you love him. He doesn't mind that you are cuddly, but please do not try and be cuddly with him in public, because he doesn't handle PDA very well. He's rather awkward about it. Also, help the poor soul who dares try to insult him when you are around. Because hell hath no fury like someone who hears their s/o being insulted. Especially when that person is you.
Minister Tua - Not going to lie, she often finds your outbursts to be annoying sometimes, even when they are justifiable. But she doesn't say so aloud, because she's honestly worried that if she were to tell you such a thing, that she might unintentionally hurt you. Which she doesn't want. But, when she does bring it to your attention that she wants you to learn to control your outbursts, and lets you know how she feels when you have one, you immediately start apologizing for annoying her, and she just responds by hugging you. Which in turn causes you to try and initiate cuddles, and she gradually accepts them with a slightly defeated sigh.
Commandant Aresko - The poor man is honestly terrified, even when your own parents had warned him about your temper that can even scare the skin off of a rancor. Granted he has found himself at the receiving end of your wrath, more than one occasion that has left him in the infirmary. However, he knows of your love for cuddles. So, what ends up happening, is that when you tackle him to the floor on the intent of releasing your anger, he wraps his arms around you and just holds you against him until you calm down. (Even if he has to handle getting his arms scratched and you trying to bite his face. But he loves you.)

Animals/things Imperials are scared of
(For anyone in need of a good laugh.)
Grand Admiral Thrawn
Rats. Oh boy does he not like rats. He doesn't care if they're the domesticated ones either. How this became a fear, was that he was at a weekly meeting with other commanding officers.
Something fluffy, and half the size of a mouse droid skitters across the room, which is noticed by Thrawn for he had suddenly stopped talking and was now staring at the adjacent wall.
Slavin used a small pen light to shine some light in the corner, and all everyone saw was a salt and pepper colored rat by the wall, staring at them.
Before anyone had a chance to get a word in, the small animal raced across the floor and right towards Thrawn.
He didn't scream mind you, but he did jump onto the desk, with an expression that made him look as if he was silently flipping out.
Konstantine was laughing, while Slavin and Kallus were trying to catch the animal. By closer inspection, Kallus realized that the intruder was domesticated and probably a civilian's pet. As he tried to show it to Thrawn, the grand admiral backed away.
Yogar Lyste and Captain Slavin
Both boys don't like bats. Slavin has a chronic fear of them, while Lyste hates them because of diseases. So what ended up happening, is that someone forgot to close a window, and a baby bat came flying into the room and flying all over the place.
Slavin was automatically screaming as he dived underneath a table with his arms over his head, while Lyste was chasing after the bat, carrying a blanket, and trying to catch it, with comedic results.
Now when it comes to Lyste, he doesn't like most reptiles, mostly snakes. He doesn't like how they flick their tongues, and how scaley they are. If he sees one coming towards him (even if it's a harmless, ball python), he would try to get somewhere high so that the snake won't get near him. Unfortunately for him, most snakes can slither up and down objects, so it often takes him some time to find the perfect place to get away.
Cumberlayne Aresko
Aresko isn't a huge fan of anything with a lot of legs. One such being the centipede. And there's a story of how this fear came into existence.
When he was about five or six, he had to bring his dad a face towel after he was done shaving. As he was walking towards the refresher room, his foot touched something. Something smooth, slimy, and wiggling, and very much alive.
Looking down, he saw this giant centipede right by his foot. And just like any other little kid, he screamed. Very loudly. In fact, he was screaming so loud that Grint's father heard him from outside, and had kicked open the door just to get to him and figure out what was wrong.
Aresko was practically a huge crying mess at this point as his own dad ran out into the living room, and the minute he saw the centipede about to slink away, the man took out his blaster and shot it.
Ever since then, he has harbored a huge fear over them. Grint has often memed on him a lot for it, but Aresko only reminded him of his own fear that surfaced when he was a kid....
Myles Grint
Clowns. When Myles was seven, his mother thought it would be a great idea to throw him a birthday party. She even hired a clown as entertainment for the kids.
Since Myles has never seen a clown before, and when the man showed up, he felt as if time slowed down, and not in a good way.
The guy had also gotten in front of him and had just smiled really big and asked if he was the birthday boy, everything just caved and poor Myles booked it back inside and upstairs to his room.
Aresko and Tua searched for him, only to find that he locked himself into his closet and won't come out until Aresko assured him that it was just him and Tua.
The guy has been deathly afraid of clowns ever since.
Maketh Tua
Spiders. I've actually mentioned this is fear in my Movies that scared Imperials when they were Younger (or in general) post. But never explained it in much depth.
So Lothal doesn't have many spiders, so Tua never really saw them as much. However, she had went to Naboo and saw one making a web in a corner or a wall. It wasn't big mind you, but it was big enough to see the details on it's body.
So how did she grow a fear of them? A spider landed on her shoulder and she didn't notice it until she felt something weird and tickly on her hand. Looking down, she saw it and not a second later, she freaked out.

~Imperial Diaries~ Episode 20: Aresko’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
@animperialmarch Episode 20. Poor Aresko can’t seem to get a break.
Cue Music: One Little Slip - The Barenaked Ladies
Dear diary,
After what Myles Grint and I went through today, I’m thinking of changing my tactics for survival while working for the empire to one simple rule: Do nothing. My point is this: every single time I try to take action about something, it either ends in disaster, or it...well, that’s it really. It just ends in disaster. And I blame those wretched insurgents. I hope they feel ashamed of themselves, wrecking my career like this!
Earlier this morning, we were - as usual - called out to deal with some insurgents stealing supplies. In all honesty, this has happened so many times before that neither I nor Grint take it all that seriously anymore. Well, until the royal failure we suffered today, of course. For the record, this is the last time I let Grint drive my speeder.
I knew what the drill was; rebels out causing trouble, we go and stop them, etc, etc. Truth be told, when Grint and I received our assignment, we said in unison: “Do we have to, Minister?” “Of course you do, you nerf herders!” She snapped. “Now go out there and prove your worth!” Well, that did it! Jumping into a nearby transport speeder with some Stormtroopers, we set off in pursuit of the Rebels!
It was all downhill from there. Literally. I spotted the Rebels loading some storage crates onto the backs of speeder bikes at the foot of a hill. “Hah!” I said triumphantly. “Grint, we got ‘em red handed! Punch it!” The speeder set off down the hill at a terrific pace, headed straight for the group of unsuspecting rebels. We were planning to catch them unawares by deploying the Stormtroopers as the speeder raced past. What can I say? Dramatic effect usually works every time.
It didn’t work this time, however. One of the rebels, a young boy with scruffy blue hair, somehow spotted us and shouted: “Look out!” As he and the other ducked out of the way, the boy threw a meiloorun at the windscreen of the speeder. With a loud splat, the view was obscured by fruity mush. “Oh, crikey!” I yelped. “I can’t see a thing!” Grint shouted in a panic.
The speeder rocketed through the field of Lothal, with both of us clinging to each other for dear life. I’m greatly sorry to say that Grint and I screamed as well. Finally, when I was able to see a little through the windscreen, I realised exactly where we here headed. “Grint!” I shrieked. “Pull the brakes!” We were headed straight for a farm.
In his panic, however, Grint pulled the accelerator instead of the brakes. I covered my eyes in terror, flinching. There was a resounding crash as the speeder drove straight through a barn. “Great!” I groaned, peering at the wreckage through my fingers. “This can’t get much worse!” But I was wrong. By the time Grint finally got the brakes to work, we’d landed right in the middle of a lake. Then, predictably, Minister Tua contacted us. “Commandant. You and Grint. My office. Now.” “It just did.” Shuddered Grint.
Once we’d both got the speeder out of the water, we trudged into Tua’s office. To say that the minister was hopping mad would be the understatement of the year. “Commandant Cumberlayne Aresko.” She said, her voice dangerously calm. “You and Taskmaster Grint were given one simple task this morning; to stop the insurgents and bring them to justice.” “Yes, Minister.” I muttered, looking sadly at the floor.”
“And what did you do instead?” Tua’s voice rose now. “You got fruit juice all over that brand new speeder, destroyed a farm and crashed in a lake! Are you kidding me?! You might as well be cartoon characters!” I winced and Grint stifled a whimper. “Uh, I guess this would be the wrong time to ask for a raise?” He asked.
“A raise!?” Shrieked Tua. “Oh, you’ll get a raise, alright! So help me, Taskmaster Grint, I’ll raise you right off the floor if you and Aresko don’t get your act together!” “Yes, sir!” Grint saluted. “D’oh!” He then exclaimed. I facepalmed. Minister Tua glared at him. “One more failure like this again,” She growled. “And both of you will regret the day you joined the Empire! Do I make myself clear?”
“Yes, Minister,” We both cringed. “Get out of my sight!” She yelled. Naturally, we left. “Wow.” I sighed once we were outside, wiping my brow. “Ok, Grint, let’s make sure we don’t fail again.” “Um, ok, Commandant,” Shrugged Grint. “Uh, how do we do that?” “By doing nothing, Grint,” I replied cunningly. “You what?” he asked. “If we do nothing, nothing will happen,” I explained. “And if nothing happens, nothing can go wrong.” “Ah, nice!” Grint smirked. I gave a sigh of relief. “Now you’re getting the idea.” I said, hoping and praying that everything would turn out fine.
Signed, Cumberlayne Aresko.

Ezra Bridger and Myles Grint - ‘Where are your parents?‘
I sometimes imagine stories about Lothal set before the series. I sadly didn’t finish what would have been a little comic, but thought I’d upload it anyways...
Even officers like Grint would have once been intimidating to a street kid? At one point Ezra might have accumulated enough bottled-up rage against the system to start opposing it in small ways: by pick-pocketing officers or confusing stormies, and generally being obnoxiously cheeky when he could get away with it.
For the character + word prompt thing I made - darktiger0049 suggested Taskmaster Myles Grint + parents.

Fun fact for the day
Grint sometimes wanders around the city when he has nothing better to do. And often finds people trying to get him to sign up for things that he's not all that interested in.
It happens on a regular basis too, and he gets more and more annoyed as the day progresses.
Once an elderly woman selling these little homemade rolls saw him and she called out to him when his back was turned.
Grint immediately got annoyed, yet as he turned around to glare at whoever was bothering him this time, he paused to see the woman before him, as she presented a box of rolls to him, asking if he would like to buy some.
When she noticed how tall he was, she commented on it. Saying that he reminded her of her grandson, who she hasn't seen in a while.
Of course, that definitely melted Grint's heart way more than it should, and he ended up buying all of the rolls.
When he got back to the academy, Aresko, Tua and Kallus were staring at him like he lost his mind. Until Grint couldn't handle it anymore and started bawling and telling them about the woman he bought all the rolls from.
Yeah...he has a weakness for sweet grandmas. It reminds him too much of his own grandmas from both his mom and dad's sides of the family.
