Oh but they already know. In 2020 KTM and Tech3 had the same livery. In Moto3 until now, they had almost the same exact livery between the Tech3 and the Ajo Squad. KTM prefers to keep is on our toes with the Tech3 livery
congrats to ktm for discovering the magic of the copy and paste function

not only is the KTM design the same from last year, but all 4 bikes look pretty much identical… at least they probably won’t all be at the front…
right there with you anon
anyway in conclusion i think maybe everyone should try a little harder
#tech3 leaving yamaha because yamaha kept treating its satellite as customer teams and now this#i KNOW there's a lot to be said for running basically factory bikes factory colours but idkkkk where's the brand identity#all been downhill since they didn't give acosta the spiderman livery at silverstone#also the numbers?? two white two kinda orange-y. does everyone just hate highlight colours nowadays#give yourself some brightly coloured shin padding!! orange admittedly not the easiest colour to work with but like. go blue or something#acosta i will pay you two quid for you to start putting turquoise on things#//#brr brr#batsplat responds#//currt#//brr brr

anyway you know why idc about the penalty? because it's not about the podium but the fact that I was so sad about the move from aprilia after he had just gotten his first win cause I never thought he could drag that tech3 anywhere near the podium ESPECIALLY after all the ktm drama and THEN I thought okay maybe podium if lucky??? but tHEN HE SERVED SM CUNT!! he said fuck you bitch I'm still here!! still hungry!! it's about the joy in his face bc things are working!!! he's getting the feeling for his new machine!! it's about the fact that his team says he's like a kid about racing cause he still gets SO excited!! it's about all of that - not one podium, it's about the HOPE and the POSSIBILITY and the JOY of racing!!

All of you are very aware that my brain gets very obsess with the most random thing even in MotoGP, and this time is not different. This time, it's about the rider's heigh and which is the talles team in the grid. It was prompted by Aldeguer coming to MotoGP and wondering if Honda or Gresini's line up was on average taller.
First of all, we need to see who is the tallest and the shortest rider on the grid. The tallest is Luca Marini with 184cm and the shortest one is actually shared by Jorge Martín and Enea Bastianini with 168cm each. Below there's a table with all the riders and their height according to MotoGP site*
Now, the next step is to look at the average height of the teams. Below the table with the results.
Turns out, that Honda has an average height )of 182,5 cm, which is 2cm taller than Gresini (which was my initial tough. It's also a contrast to the 2018, where they had the shortest line-up. Well in General Honda is know to be a pretty small bike and difficult to handle for taller riders, so... it's surprising they choose such taller riders. In one particular occasion, Dani confessed he even struggle to properly fit on the bike (I think it was the Honda with an 800cc), which is telling on how small they managed to do that particular bike/model.
On the oposite side of the spectrum, Tech3 has the shortest line-up, and KTM has the second shortest one.
This promptly me too look at the manufacturers data. In the current MotoGP era it isn't as important as it used to be. Before the development of the aero, the ideal height of a MotoGP rider was around 170cm (or 175cm, not a lot higher than that). With the aero, came more stability for the bikes, which allowed the manufacturers to make longer bikes, therefore taller riders come to play.
As expected, KTM is the bike who has on average the shorter riders, while Honda, despite LCR being on the on the short side of the spectrum (ranked 4th), has overall the shorter line up. (And if anyone is wondering if there's a difference between the riders riding the Desmosedici (Ducati) GP24 and the ones riding the GP25, yes there's one. The average height of the riders in the GP25 is 174cm and the ones in the GP24 is 179, which makes them the tallest in the grid).
Right now, none of this is really important, but the riders height does have small paper in the riders performance. Height do play a role on the ergonomics, and for taller riders it makes it more difficult to fit on the bike, but as I said before, aero did change that.
* We all know that the site is a bit wrong in this cases, but it's the official site and the one containing all riders' height (or most of them). So if anyone wants a beef about a particular height, please do it with MotoGP/DORNA. Also if someone has a more accurate site that contains all riders heights, please share so I can update this if necessary.

motogp bikes as (mostly) hard candies
w/ bonus drink i associate w/ each bike livery segment for some reason...
post inspiration: saw the pramac livery. thought I need to lick that bike so bad. the rest is history.
aprilia - cinnamon heart candy

starting off with a potentially controversial choice, sure the aprilia livery isn't particularly red but the parts that are red pop! also the livery just gives very broody and misunderstood, urban fantasy, tragic heartbreak, vampire romance pulp fiction novel protagonist vibes, a black streak speeding by like a shadow in the night... also x2, i tried not to take into account the riders for each team when making these assignments, but heart shaped candy for team loverboy? how could i pass?
drink: chocolate-strawberry milkshake w/ 2 straws
ducati - cherry halls

there's just something very fake medicinal about this livery like it's trying to say i'm good for you, but it's probably just giving you red food dye poisoning or something.
drink: coca-cola pre 1900s edition
gresini - non-descript tin mint

I took one look at these bikes and knew there was no way I wld be able to find any candy that colour. I was semi-right because the only thing I could find that was remotely similar were this one picture of a tin of mints on google images. the colour (which I have no word to describe and neither did the colour dropper I tried using) somehow manages to feel both sterile and unsanitary, like sun faded, mildew infested patient divider curtains in an underfunded hospital which is also how I would imagine those mints taste so I guess everything worked out in the end.
drink: those butterfly pea lattes I’ve never had before, but have heard taste like dirt
honda - candy canes

this is a bike livery that screams christmas, the festive red framework, the wintery blue accents and of course the cute green castrol sponsor logo perfectly tying off the christmas colour thematic trio like a bow on a present and what candy is more christmas-y than candy canes?
drink(s): aftermath of that elephant toothpaste experiment thingie, tide pods
ktm + tech3 - candy corn (i know this isn’t actually hard candy but just let me have this one ok)

if the honda bike livery embodies christmas then ktm bike livery is halloween all the way, specifically the kitschy, marketing ploy of companies changing all their regular products to black and orange versions of the same thing so they can still sell the same products but hey its limited edition™ now 😱😱😱 and what candy could better embodies the corniness of commercial halloween than candy corn? (ahaha get it.. cuz candy corn yk..)
drink: reese's pieces cookie dough blizzard® treat
pramac - grape lollipop

bright and shiny, you’ll probably cut your tongue on it if you lick it's irresistible gleaming surface (talking abt the lollipop, but I've heard carbon fibre is quite sharp as well so mayhaps be cautious w/ that too) but damn it’s worth it. does it taste good in the complete objective sense? debatable... but it’s just soooo glossy and smooth and you need to lick it so fucking bad (I'm not projecting, you're projecting)
drink: grape cough syrup
trackhouse - blue skittle

the matte finish immediately made me think of hard outer shell, hard chocolate coated outer shell, m&ms! unfortunately this is meant to be the which hard candy does each bike livery remind me not which chocolate do they remind me of so i had to go w/ the sugary candy alter ego of m&ms, skittles instead.
drink: blue milk
vr46 - warheads

yellow... lemons.... sour... obviously the candy associated w/ this livery had to be something so sour it makes u make a 😖 face when u eat it <— also the reaction of most ppl when they saw the livery (not me tho as someone who obtains joy from eating lemons and looking at absurdly neon bikes, im just built different). admittedly there are a lot of sour candies out there, however warheads candies are not only sour, they also feature obnoxiously highlighter yellow packaging to match the obnoxiously highlighter yellow bike livery and most importantly they perfectly capture the whimsy of the person the bike livery directly draws inspiration from (who has also lovingly slapped his branding right onto the front of each bike for further emphasize) with a cute and thematically befitting cartoon caricature.
drink(s): panera charged lemonade (mango yuzu citrus flavour to be specific), mountain dew
yamaha - blue rock candy
the interplay b/w black and blue adds nice depth to the livery, creates a jagged feel feeling as perfectly embodied by the crystalline structure of rock candies. very much a cut your tongue if you dare try licking it livery, in a similar vein to pramac (apparently that's the yamaha brand) but in a much less alluring and more i've warned you and i dare you to try way almost akin to the tail rattle of a rattlesnake.
drink: methylene blue
lcr - candy canes 2.0
this bish came out right when i was finishing up this draft, it's another christmas honda bike! this one features a bit less of the icy, winter blue aspects the christmas aesthetic and a bit more of the elf-y santa's helper vibes (also off topic i can't be the only one who thinks this japanese bike looks weirdly italian...). consequently for all the reasons the factor honda livery must be a candy cane associated livery, lcr honda must be one too! let's just say factory is mint candy canes and lcr honda is peppermint candy canes for slight differentiation.
drink: canada dry ginger ale christmas sweater edition
bonus: girl wdym lcr not only decided to take 50 yrs to do their bike launch but also have 2 diff liveries...
luckily candy canes are versatile and thus this too shall be a peppermint candy cane..
#motogp#admittedly at some point while i was brainstorming#the “drinks” section just became#the vaguely liquid substances section#ik we're on the there are too many red bikes train#but after doing this ive come to the conclusion the real problems are#the blue bikes

So since I'm in a multitude of sport fandoms, in a lot of them, it's just common, that teammates share rooms and even beds.
This would be hilarious in MotoGP, here are my takes on how it would play out in some of the teams in the 2025 season:
Aprilia: Jorge and Bez would both be so annoyed, that they would work eachother up so much, that they'd fight tooth and nail until one of them sleeps on the floor.
Yamaha: Fabio and Alex would shrug and that's it.
Ducati: Valentino himself would pay for Pecco to not stay with Marc ever. They allow it, because they are not sure if Vale would go insane over it.
KTM: The weirdest friendship ever would blossom between Brad and Pedro. The kind of friendship that only works despite an age gap, because you are coworkers and that sometimes changes everything greatly. Brad would go to bed early and Pedro would (mostly) silently game until late into the night trying not to wake Brad. After a while, he knows Brad's sleeping habits by heart and whenever he stirrs in the way he always does, when he wakes up to get a drink, Pedro would already hold the bottle out to him. They would just become besties really.
Honda: Luca and Joan wouldn't have it in them to really care. Maybe it happens because Honda wants to cut cost and not pay for more than one accommodation and they would probably even understand that. It's a bit awkward at the start, but they can bond about how shit everything is. I give them less than three weeks until they start applying the cream™ onto the bruises/aches the other got in one of the many crashes.
VR46: Franky and Diggia couldn't care less if they tried.
Prima Pramac: Jack won't stop whining, because he's irritated by Miguel. Miguel is irritated by Jack, because he won't stop whining.
Honourable mentions: Tech3, Gresini, could both be very fun to explore, there certainly is potential, but I don't know in what way.
No clue: LCR, Trackhouse, I just don't know the new guys enough I'm sorryyyyy
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

INTRODUCTION
The world championship is divided in three categories: moto3, moto2 and motogp.
There are no rules about racing in the same category after winning, and it is possible for a rider to go down a category after going up (examples: Aleix Espargaro and, more recently, Dennis Foggia (moto2 to moto3) )
Moto3 and moto2 are considered as complete categories on their own, and are not just “propaedeutic” for Motogp.
This derives from the old division of the categories: before the change from 2 strokes engines to 4 strokes, 125cc and 250cc were their own championships, with specialists and champions in their own rights (example: Max Biaggi won numerous championships in 250cc before stepping up to 500cc)
This is the reason why, in the championship count, moto3 and moto2 (as well as 125 and 250 for the older riders) championships are included. Dorna (company that owns the series) is trying to change this but we are doing our best to ignore it.
To get in the championship, the baseline age is 18 years old (with the exception of the winners of feeding series, like the redbull rookies cup, who can get in if they're at least 17 years old), which is why there's an extremely high influx of baby faced criminals in moto3
MOTOGP: general informations
Motogp runs complete prototypes, with 4 strokes 1000cc engines. This is set to change with the 2027 regulations, when the capacity will lower to 850cc.
There are two different types of teams: client teams and factories. Factory teams make the bike, while client teams buy the bike from the factories. The type of bike is decided by the contract that the client team and the factory team have stipulated, and varies from team to team as well as, in some cases, from bike to bike on the same team.
There are currently five factory teams (Ducati, Aprilia, Ktm, Honda, Yamaha) and six client teams (Gresini and Vr46 under Ducati, Trackhouse under Aprilia, Tech3 under Ktm, Lcr under Honda, Pramac under Yamaha) for a total of eleven teams and 22 regular riders on the grid.
It may happen that more than 22 riders race during a gp: the extra riders take the name of wildcard. Wildcards are a system put in place to aid factory teams, allowing them more running and testing time. Wildcards are usually done by test riders of the team. Not all teams can have wildcards: due to the past years dominance, Ducati has no wildcards allowed.
MOTO2: general informations
Moto2 runs partial prototypes with identical production based 765cc 4 strokes engines.
There are three different bikes: Kalex, Boscoscuro and Forward. This doesn't mean that all the bikes under the same manufacturer are identical: as of now between the kalexs can be found a difference of suspensions (wp or not wp) and of frame (2024 and 2025). There’s a total of 15 teams in the championship, 4 of them using Boscoscuro bikes, 9 using Kalex bikes and one using Forward bikes
MOTO3: general informations
Moto3 runs bikes with 250cc 4 strokes engines. There are currently 2 different manufacturers, KTM and Honda, and a total of 13 teams in the championship, with eight teams using KTM bikes and five teams using Honda bikes.

Is Valentino switching his team to Yamaha in the coming years?
Rumours are definitely circulating. Apparently they are slated to make the switch to Yamaha in 2025 and become their main satellite operation with access to factory bikes. Yamaha needs a satellite team after RNF abandoned them for Aprilia and Tech3 abandoned them for KTM. I think Uccio said somewhere that they are trying their best to get a factory bike for Bezz in order to give him a better shot. Which makes sense because Bezz gave up a Pramac seat to be with them.
Unfortunately Yamaha is squeamish about making the switch from an in line engine to a V4 engine. Their argument being that they have used these engines forever and the other teams that use V4 have years of advantage on them. Which again, fair because engineering at the highest level is about how familiar you are with every little last detail and that experience only comes with time. Not likely that Yamaha will make big tech changes before 2027 and that's some time away. Interesting to witness for the VR46 operation because they have been incredibly lucky with a rider like Bezz who brings this massive wave of talent, and Luca who is sharp and great at communicating with engineers. Add to that the fact that Ducati has the most sophisticated simulation tools of any factory team. So you know, even though they were at par with Gresini, they were still able to furnish far better results.
Fingers crossed for their Yamaha years because Fabio Q has spoken extensively about how Yamahas just don't have the engine power. But I suppose the Rossi connect would get them more favour from the factory operation than they get currently. All in all, fingers crossed.
#asks#Bezz has only extended his contract by a year#lets see what happens#which other riders in the vr46 team are as talented and available to take the seat after Bezz leaves rlly :(#unfortunately high performance engineering is so crazy sooo crazzyyyy#motogp#vr46 racing team#japanese manufacturers are currently having their asses handed to them#does not help that their isn't a lot of money in motogp currently#yamaha racing

Hey, hope you're doing well 😊
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog and the works that you post. You just have a style of writing that I like very much and makes me want to read more, even if it's about a driver or scenario that I typically wouldn't gravitate towards.
I was also hoping you might be able to help me with something. I noticed that a while back you posted some works about MotoGP and I want to broaden my motorsport interest/knowledge outside of F1 and its associated series. I watched the race last weekend and have to admit I was quite lost for the most part about how everything works and who is who besides a few names I recognized 😅
So I was wondering if maybe could recommend some blogs on here, creators on other platforms, YouTube videos or something like that that could help someone as lost as me understand motoGP a bit more.
Absolutely no worries if you don't want to, I just wanted to try my luck since you always seem so nice 😊
hi anon! first off, thanks for your kind words <3 i love whenever i have the chance to talk about motogp to anyone so of course I’ll help you out!
i started watching motogp in early 2019 because my cousin was watching a race and i thought it was interesting. i understand your confusing because trust me, i was confused as hell when i watched my first motogp race.
the official motogp youtube channel actually posted some helpful videos, in my opinion, about learning the basics to motogp.
motogp explained
race start
track limits
manufacturers and teams
of course they’re a big old (like two or three) but they’re still informative enough. i did send this video to a friend who also wanted to get into watching motogp.

i did find myself watching old races because i felt like this off season was the longest 😭 the motogp youtube account has posted some races.
here’s some races i love:

my dumb conspiracy theory for why vinales is Sitting Up There in the opening credits is they wanted to avoid filming the front of his and bastianini's bikes, because they were still changing them. at the livery reveal all four bikes were essentially identical, then by the buriram photos the tech3 ones had a slight tweak
in the credits, you only see the side of vinales' bike as they zoom up to him, and they don't show bastianini's bike at all. the theory is they did this to avoid showing an outdated version but to not make it too obvious. is it true? probably not. would it matter if it were? not in the slightest. but that's where we're at
#that's why they show you acosta/binder's fronts so clearly. to throw you off the scent#vinales sitting on the thing is a cunning distraction#new tech3 front looks. kinda ugly if we're being honest#i mean ig a team making a quick redesign post livery reveal isn't a great sign of its general health but also like. we know that#//#brr brr#//currt#//brr brr

Would you rather MotoGP Edition!
Okay this is a little game of would you rather... between the MotoGP (and others) series. Please feel free to add your own if your want (but please no F1-related) and share if you want. This is just for fun.
🎵 Would you rather let rather learn how to play piano with Pol, bass with Joe Roberts or guitar with Zarco?
💍 Would you rather let Luca organize your wedding (traditional/fairy tale) or Álex Rins (Party theme)?

The trope is up to you!
Haha thanks for making me the first person to write Enea/Mav fic anon!
The decision hadn't been easy for Maverick. Leaving behind a seat with a factory team that he had sacrificed so much for wasn't a decision you make from one second to the other. But with Aleix leaving, there wasn't really anything holding him at Aprilia anymore. And why not go for extending a record he holds that is already hard to beat, maybe he'd win a race with a Ktm Tech3 one day, who knows. When his new contract was first signed, he had no clue who his future teammate was gonna be. They wanted to wait to announce both of them together, so Maverick had to wait. He just hoped they'd get along well enough. He's never had any bad teammates and he wasn't planning to make that experience now. There were a few people who he could imagine taking the seat. Maybe Jack would be relegated down and they could be teammates again. Or Miguel would make his way back to Ktm and he'd have somebody he knows next to him. There were lots of good, reasonable options.
The short Italian definitely wasn't one of them. When Maverick got called into the Ktm office the next time to meet his new teammate, the surprise was visibly painted across his face. Enea wasn't a bad choice, in no way. He was just... unexpected. Maverick stared at him for a bit longer than what would have been considered normal, watching as the corners of Enea's mouth turned up and his eyes scrunched together in a smile. He's pretty, Maverick noticed. And he has an adorable smile. He'd never paid much attention to Enea before, but now seeing him this up close, Maverick was enchanted. Enea offered him a hand, which Maverick gladly took. His hand was softer than he had expected. Most of them have really calloused hands, roughed up from years of racing and training. Enea's was marked with the usual cuts and bruises that all of them had, but other than that, his hand was soft. Maverick finds himself liking the feeling of holding it. When they let go of eachother, he instantly misses the warmth and of Enea's hand in his. This next year is definitely set to be an interesting one for Maverick.
