I have been feeling increasingly gaslit by how many words my spellchecker/autocomplete seems to no longer recognize. Even when I manage to spell the word correctly, it's as if it doesn't exist. All very strange - I've had to check the dictionary again as if it's 1999. But, no, the words are there!

I'm guessing AI nonsense has crept into spellcheck. Need to start a list of the words it believes are figments of my imagination. "Capitulated" was one earlier.

I'm a man with a bad short-term memory + a speech impediment where I often say the wrong word without realizing it, and having to triple check what I write to scan for hallucinations is doing a number on my brain. Text *used* to be where I could achieve communication fluency easily.

Just... entire swathes of vocabulary, no longer recognized! It's infuriating as someone who gets flustered by imprecise language, and now doubly so when his technology implies the words he's depended on are not real!

MEMORY, MEMORIES, DATA & EPHEMERA..

I have been playing with casting a bit again. Repetition is a vehicle of process, especially with making art..

How many dimensions do our human memories have?

This frozen 3-dimensional cast of an old outdated hard drive is co-dependent on a specific temperature to exist physically. The temperature determines its longevity in the 4th dimension of “time”.

The images that you see here are 2-dimensional and will easily out live the 3D & 4D version mentioned above.

If we can see our personal memories as data, we know that they are stored, triggered and accessible via our thoughts and emotions, unlike the metaphor of a hard-drive that is not sentient… yet.

But that day will perhaps come, when technology will know how to develop and deploy emotions to data..

But if the temperature changes…

One of the very best things you can do is learn how to entertain yourself with minimal use of computers. Maybe this is something Gen-X can pass on (if we care to) but any kind of board games or card games or jigsaw puzzles, any kind of crafts or even the resurgence of coloring books, etc., cooking and baking that doesn’t take a lot of effort but does take time (like bread) anything that has to do with keeping animals/pets, any kind of low-key physical activity or just “being outside” - those new little camp stoves you can have on your patio and throw twigs in and roast marshmallows, etc. Going fishing, going for a walk, keeping some plants in pots or a little garden, birdwatching… rainy-day house projects like polishing brass or furniture… running errands for a couple hours, stopping by people’s houses to drop things off… (I feel like I’m beginning to describe the ideal life…)

All these things you can chill out doing with some music on to vibe with. Maybe now and then watch an episode of a good show or a sportsball game or something. Movies at home or in theaters were usually events and it’s kind of cool to keep them that way. Video games were always best with a bunch of friends getting together. People need to talk on the phone more - even better now with video chat. Like let the technology be the backdrop of it all, a little grease in the wheels, but nothing we are dependent on. Some of my best memories growing up were from days the power went out.

I say this well aware that I stare at a screen too much in my own free time but we have to get away from staring and back to doing and being together. Don’t want to do anything? Read a book. Don’t want to read? Sit in silence and look at something green or something on fire. We need to learn again what it feels like to just be as part of our entertainment, not just passively being entertained.

So back when I was super new to jjk (and Sukuna) I had this rp going on with my friend and I kinda wanna share what it was. It's not canon accurate at all but... Enjoy I guess? Haha.

So at first it is set in the modern JJK world. Sukuna ditches being evil and just lived his life after his reincarnation (under the watchful eyes of Gojo btw) and he gains his own body, falls in love and eventually has a daughter.

And he's the happiest he's ever been. He has a home and a small family of his own. He's content with living a quiet life with you and his daughter.

But of course, even if he has kinda "retired" from being the King of Curses, people are still after him. And somehow, he isn't able to protect you and his daughter.

You both are murdered in front of his eyes and Sukuna ends up going on a rampage, shifting back to his old bloodlust self as he gleeful destroys Tokyo.

Of course, Gojo is send to deal with him. Sukuna happily fights him with a ferocious grin on his face but Gojo can see right through him and knows the pain he's in (Gojo knows you and the family Sukuna had considering he popped by from time to time to check up on him much to Sukuna's dismay)

Gojo tries to reason with him but Sukuna just scoffs and grins and says to continue this. Their much awaited fight. (Shinjuku Showdown doesn't exist in this cuz I was anime only back then lol)

But during the fight, he remembers a memory of that one time Gojo had left after his routine visits. Where he scoffed and said the sorcerer was a pain in the ass to which you giggled.

"I'm far stronger than him. Such arrogance to think he can control the likes of me."

And you had smiled and gently nudged his shoulder. "Well, if you both ever fight again, I'll be there to cheer you on, Kuna." And his heart had just warms at your words.

And that's when it all comes crashing down on him. You're gone. You are no more. In his thousand years of existence, he had gained one good thing and he had lost it all.

He couldn't bring himself to fight, letting Gojo drag him across building to building until finally he's on his knees, looking down on the ground silently. Battered and bloodied.

And finally, he makes his decision. He has no reason to be here anymore.

This era had given him enough... It was time for him to leave.

And so, he gets up and starts walking away. Gojo watches him before speaking up. "Mind telling me where you're going?"

Sukuna stops, doesn't turn around as he quietly says. "Away. Do not follow me."

And Gojo doesn't.

So what Sukuna does is that he leaves the city, travels to the highest peak of the mountain ranges surrounding Tokyo and finds a cave.

It was time for him to leave this era for good. And that is what he does as he sits down cross legged on the rocky floor inside the cave and closes his eyes.

For the next thousand years, he meditates.

Civilisations grow and fall. Landscapes and seasons change. People come and go.

Until finally Sukuna opens his eyes.

And the world he is greeted with has changed completely.

Where Tokyo once stood, he could only see miles and miles of greenery and nothing else and when he decides to step into this new era and explore it, he comes across a small village.

Humanity had reverted back to its traditional ways. There was no technology, only men and women walking about, building wooden huts, herding animals and sharpening weapons as they chatted amongst each other.

And as he watched the village from afar, his attention was caught by a loud commotion.

"Easy, girl. Easy!"

You.

It was you.

You, who was riding on a horse, firmly pulling on its reins. You laughed softly and leaned in to gently pet her mane.

One thousand years later, you had reincarnated.

Only the wind's pleasant and gentle whisper, invading the modest but cozy cottage that, he decided to share for a brief moment in time, with the only person capable of seeing beyond the mask and the title of hero. You.

He had allowed himself, for once in his life, to tear down those walls he had built around with such care, and to bare his longings of normalcy with you.

And there he was. Enjoying those rewards in a beautiful cabin in the middle of the prairies of his city. Admiring the mundane landscape like if he had just discovered sunsets, until a much more ravishing view filled his chest with something he was getting used to feeling.

The restless and childish wind played with your hair, making the rebellious strands to caress your face, in an attempt to imitate him when his hands did it. All while you laughed and urged him to join you.

His face relaxed with a smile, and when you called him outside to forage dinner's ingredients , he didn't even hesitate. He knew in that instant, that he was where he had always longed to be.

Wait are Tempurpedics actually good beds?? I always figured they were just kinda running on brand recognition.

Do the hybrid mattresses have temperature regulation issues, or does it just depend on brand/quality? And can you feel the springs or whatever through the foam when they start breaking down like with regular mattresses or does the foam mitigate that (to a point ofc im sure a 10 year old mattress will probably feel bad either way but I mean within a couple years)

Tempurpedics are actually really cool, yes. They’re the only material on the market that responds to heat and pressure whereas every other bed uses pressure only. So if you’re me eight years ago and weighed 90lbs I literally didn’t weigh enough to get back support out of any other bed. Loved my Tempur for eight years til we got a king.

Tempurpedic are the OG “memory foam” bed which is a bit of a misnomer because their formula is developed off a technology NASA released and is a distinctly different thing than memory foam which is fascinating but most folks don’t actually care.

The original line twenty some years ago was Really Good at pressure relief but hard to move in and really hot. That was the inception for hybrid beds which is a flat sheet of memory foam over coils and the coils stand upright individually so you should never feel them on newer beds regardless of type.

Hybrids make it easier to roll over, still have great pressure relief, and all the hybrids on my showroom have better temperature regulation than most of my innerspring beds. The only loss from all foam to hybrid is motion diffusion. All foam you don’t feel anything moving in the bed and on hybrids you feel a little.

Like every brand under capitalism Tempur has fallen somewhat in quality while chasing profit and a cooler sleep but they’re still miles better than most other foam beds.

Was Kandi always a bimbo? Or did she want to become one? No, "Kandi" was not always a bimbo, in fact, she used to be quite intelligent and was a floor manager at a very busy retail store. When I met her, she was a very different person. She didn't have much of a sex drive and was incredibly shy about things like that; she didn't like revealing clothes, public displays of affection, she didn't like drawing attention to herself and wore very little make-up, etc. She really hated superficial girls, like bimbos, for example.

I was also looking into hypnosis at the time and thought I might use some to sway her apprehension toward girl-girl relationships (she had no experience). I was just having fun and didn't think it was going to work but let's just say we had a very enlightening third date and started fucking regularly after that. Anyway, since I like bimbos and superficial fem shit like that, I decided to see what else I could do with her. That's how her "therapy" began.

How exactly did you turn her into a bimbo? A lot of it was via repetitive hypnosis sessions, disassociation sessions, pleasure sessions, spirals, meditative therapy, etc. I'm not a professional though and just threw stuff at the wall to see what would stick. Trigger words helped too. I also did my best to rewrite her childhood memories to fit more with the bimbo persona I created for her, and applied disassociative therapy with her old appearance --- that is why she isn't aware of who she used to be and truly believes she's always been a bimbo. To her the bimbofication never "happened" but has always been her. The noticable milestones of her transformation started well into her therapy; after I changed her name and altered her childhood, gave her pink contacts, got her obssessed with make-up, hair, sex and pleasure, and the big one was when she finally got her tits done. I had to hypnotize her before the doctor visit to set up the appointment and when it came time for the surgery, I had to put her under, so she'd have no choice but to go through with it. After all that, I think the rest of her psyche quickly spiraled and the old her was buried and erased.

Is there a chance she could snap out of her bimbofication? Maybe? Nothing is 100% foolproof. But Tiffany and I haven't seen ANY signs of her original personality, nor any old mannerisms, thoughts, etc, for months. So (a month or two ago, or longer depending on when you read this), I gave her one last hypno-session to test her complete bimbofication. Needless to say, she passed every test quite easily. I also solidified that final training with the addendum that the next time she cummed, she would be a bimbo forever. From what I understand, she did not heed that warning, and had sex with both Tiffany and Jamal that night.

Can you help with her reinforcement? YES. Please do. I imagine the more we reinforce her bimbofication, the more permanent it will become. But I am monitoring everything closely. If you try to free her, save her or alter what I have already done too drastically, I'll block you.

i really wish i had the motivation to write rn, because i have an idea for a post-canon Dracula fic where the characters have to deal with world war one. like, how do you even cope with thinking you saved all those lives, only for the entire western world to go to absolute shit just 20-ish years later? if only Bram Stoker had known what was coming.

anyway, i find it so interesting to consider what certain characters would do in that situation.

depending on when he was born, Quincey Jr could be just old enough to enlist or get drafted. or honestly, he might just want to be a hero like his parents, and lie about his age. and let's be real, that boy has some latent vampire powers that would give him an edge.

Jonathan has good survival instincts, an ear for languages, and the ability and willingness to scale sheer walls with a knife between his teeth if necessary. Mina has a really impressive memory for conversations and schedules, a love of technology, experience resisting what is essentially supernatural interrogation, and probably some vampire side effects of her own. both of them know shorthand and have plenty of experience with life or death situations. they would kick ass as spies and wireless operators.

Jack and Van Helsing would have to cease the medical malpractice to be actual army doctors. maybe learn about shell shock and call up Jonathan about that old "brain fever" diagnosis of his.

and what would Arthur even do? what did lords do during WW1? try to keep his friends out of harm's way? use his seat in government to try and end the war? grapple with the fact that lordships are falling out of favour and the world is moving on into a modern era without him?

i just find it fun to ponder.

Ooooo, okay, yeah...Kinda angsty but still super sweet. I can do that! I'm not writing this *exclusively* about being apart ON VALENTINE'S DAY, but that could certainly apply.

Absolutely does not realize how grumpy and on edge he gets if you two are separated for a long time. Steve may enjoy that technology has come so far in the last century, but hell if he's ever gotten the hang of texting. He will call or videochat, and he wildly prefers videochatting because he knows that sometimes you lie (fib, really) about feeling okay. Steve's great at reading micro expressions; time apart also equal time he isn't understanding the full lives of the people he cares about.

Bucky Barnes

Buck mostly blames himself for how much time apart he has from you. He, like Steve, doesn't deal with it very well. He mostly becomes more brooding and snippy the longer it is. Bucky is better at texting than his pal but not better about the contents, so no deep convos happening over the phone (partly because he's rarely alone, partly because he doesn't particularly like being on the phone).

James Mace

He's trained for this. I mean, quite a few of them are, and for very long stretches, distances where realtime conversations are impossible, but Mace is diligent about sending messages. He holds on to very tiny, specific memories of you, stories you tell, and places you've been. Your laugh is the best one, the thing that keeps him going. He does keep a file, notes of funny stuff to tell you when he's back.

Curtis Everett

Is not good at reaching out. Internalizes everything. It's...an ongoing problem.

Jimmy Dobyne

Suffers. Messes with his nails and cuticles a lot. If he's home and you're not, Jimmy obsessively works on one of his many Garage Projects to pass the time. He doesn't enjoy feeling needy, so he won't text more than his regular amount. He will, however, admit to how much he missed you after you return.

Johnny Storm

Uh, he's mostly fine. Hits him at the oddest moments--missing you--and when it does, Johnny can't word his feelings in any meaningful way. He gets antsy to do things, but he doesn't know what. The adrenaline just builds until he finally gets to see you. Basically, he mistakes longing for boredom, so he ends up treating the wrong emotion.

Jake Jensen

Leans a little stalker-y but not on purpose; he's so slick with the tech and using IPN, wifi, and GPS to track your devices. It's soothing when he's away to figure out where you are and what you're up to, especially if he knows you can't pick up the phone (or he can't actually talk anyway).

Lloyd Hansen

I don't know if I'm going soft in my old age or whether @ellethespaceunicorn has whittled down my hatred for him, but my gut is telling me Lloyd constantly checks in if he's "missing" you. (Sure, that's probably more of a sexting thing, and he probably would not answer if you were trying to check in.)

Ari Levinson

Torn. He is also trained to be away and go dark for long periods, but Ari really itches to talk to you, especially just before big moments like missions or presentations. You always help him relax and focus. He can't pinpoint exactly when he became so dependent on you, but he's a touch embarrassed.

Ransom Drysdale

Sends a stupid number of texts about absolutely nothing until you respond. The man has no shame.

Andy Barber

Distracts himself in work, go figure, but hey! that usually means he has wracked up overtime and earned a little vacation once you come back home. A nice long weekend together goes a long way.

Since Andy is very practical and won't put much emotion into text (tell him stuff like that face to face, he prefers it), mostly all he communicates while you are away are reminders of to-dos.
