The Terminal List by Jack Carr My rating: 3 of 5 stars I've gone back and forth about how to review this book. On the one hand, I really enjoyed it. It had a hard-hitting opening that wasn't afraid to kill everyone off. It had great gun details that were really fun. It wasn't afraid of violence or being conservative. I enjoyed all of that. I enjoyed its authenticity. I just didn't love it. I kept getting turned around by all the villains with H names. I felt disappointed by the betrayal at the end. I really wish that had not happened. I think I made the mistake of watching the show while reading the book; they're wildly and annoyingly different. I think that made me feel disgruntled about the whole thing. So, that's on me. (Also not the author's fault, but someone wrote in the library book in pencil and then erased much of it, but you could still see that they'd written in the book. Some places they'd missed. But it was very distracting in a library book, especially since they wrote a complaint on the first page that made no sense.) So, was this fun and would I read more? Yes. I think so. I did have fun reading it. Was it as grand and exciting as I thought it would be? No. I didn't have any real heart-pounding moments, unfortunately. I never got a real sense of urgency and I would have liked more brotherhood, which is probably why I didn't like the end. View all my reviews

i dont think the encore levels are actually happening. the idea that theyre maybe a simulation v1 is running as they die has been on my mind for a while but the new album art just gave way more fuel to that

Looking at current Amazon Prime originals and their premiere vs s2 renewal dates, it looks like what they do more often is:

Renew ahead of s1 premiere (The Boys, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Cross, Rings of Power, Citadel, Wheel of Time)

A week or less after s1 premiere (Fallout, Reacher, Upload)

1 month post s1 premiere (Gen V, Devil's Hour, The Rig, House of David)

Skimming the list of ended AP programming I see cancellations mostly around the 2 month mark (sometimes 1, sometimes 3ish, occasionally longer).

And what that tells us is that apart from choosing to show confidence in some shows from minute zero (because of financials or previous potential audience research or whatever), Amazon looks at numbers very, very early.

So if there's an Amazon show you'd like to see get another season, you need to watch it now*.
