THAT ONE TIME STING ALMOST BECAME KYLE REESE -- WELCOME TO 1984.
PIC INFO: Spotlight on American film actor Michael Biehn in full costume as human resistance fighter Kyle Rees, from the 1984 sci-fi/action "The Terminator," written & directed by James Cameron.
PIC #2: English musician Sting (decked out in his infamous codpiece) as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in David Lynch's "DUNE" (1984).
OVERVIEW: "The Austrian Oak wasn’t the only star who almost missed out on his iconic role. When casting Reese, the human protector who travels back from the future to thwart the Terminator, pop star Sting was considered for the part that would eventually go to Michael Biehn. “I even met with him,” says Cameron of the former Police frontman. “I was fascinated by his look. He seemed slightly otherworldly – or at least not of this time. I felt vindicated when Sting played a major role in David Lynch’s "Dune" (1984) as the malevolent Feyd-Rautha."
"However, he wasn’t interested. I was too much of an unknown as a director at the time. I remember riding down in the elevator with him after our meeting and him sneering "So, Piranha 2, huh?" I didn’t want to tell him I had gotten fired off that film after a few days of shooting, so it wasn’t my movie at all, because frankly I was better having even a bad credit than having no director credit. Or that’s what I thought at the time.""

"The Last Bastion" is a single by the HUMAN TIME project. Cover.
The cover for the first single "The Last Bastion" of the upcoming album of the project "Human Time"  https://humantime.bandcamp.com/album/single-2025 HUMAN TIME Official lyrics video YouTube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRWly1q1OPo No later than yesterday, I drew an illustration for the design of a cool-themed music album - a dark future consumed by soulless technology, an atmosphere of noir and cyberpunk, without colorful "sparkles" and glamorous "plastics." Man and machine, living flesh and technology - what?, where?, for what?. To draw such a thing is just a celebration! I think fans of the visual design of the first Terminator, The Matrix, Doom3, warhammer 40K, and so on. - I think they will understand me.

#its so interesting to watch disinformation spread on the internet. and i mean through communities of very online people. not thru offline#ppl who just dont understand how the internet works. its so strange. like if you say something with enough conviction and if you have enough#online clout you can warp reality around your mistruths. its like that succession line im misremembering. you dont predict the future u say#things and the ppl around you scramble to make them true. and bc no one actually cares or has their own bias they never try to understand#the situation. and its so hard for me to tell where the reason behind that misinformation orignates. is it knowing lies to insight#harrassment? a huge distortion of perspective thru ego and echo chamber? or actually being a total moron? its so strange#i dunno. the internet is also very strange in that people as a collective are absolutely incapable of handling conversations that are even a#little bit complicated. you see it all over the place but its especially apparent when you watch live stream chatters flip the fuck out when#a streamer says something they disagree with even a little bit or theyre charitable to opposing perspectives. and its so baffling to me bc#everything in life is complicated and its insane to not want to interact with that even a little bit. so you end up with creators who r#audience captured bc they're afraid of upsetting ppl and that pushes communities to be unempathetic and hostile#and ready to devour anyone who doesnt meet the standards of their rigid purity test. and. in some particularly unhinged circumstances#streamers and particular member of their audiences will ensite hate under the guise of pretending to care about historic tragedies ongoing#in the world. like bro just bc u feel u have the moral high ground on one particular point does not mean u r completely immune from all#criticism and u can say truely horrifc shit abt something else and allow ur chat to be really gross. ur using the death of children to#deflect criticism wtf is happening? and again its not a clean situation. its messy. good and bad things r happening in these communities but#like there is so much content being pushed out that its almost impossible to keep track of if u arent terminally online so normies just hear#things that may or may not be true and make a black and white judgment on it. and then u get this bloated backlash based on misinfo bc#someone has a louder voice in a particular space. its madness. very interesting to watch it play out in a kind of disgusting way.#and someday there will be this empty record of an internet war no one cares abt anymore. so strange. anyway. terrible things happening in#the communities of streamers. if the internet does anythinf well its magnifying hate to obscene levels#unrelated

It seems like a recurring thing throughout my life that I discover years later that a movie I saw got a TV show/cartoon that had been running all that time (or that started decades later).

Imma be honest I lost all interest in the future war as a setting the minute Terminator 2 opened with hordes of T-800 endoskeletons walking around as regular footsoldiers. The whole premise of Terminator really only makes sense if you go with what the first movie established, that the bulk of Skynet's forces are made up of HKs which are big but also dumb and manageable and terminators are very specifically elite units reserved for high value infiltration and assassination missions only. If Skynet has the resources to just roll legions of terminators off an assembly line in such numbers that they use them for manual labour then it makes zero sense how they lost the war when it's established a single basic T-800 is worth a hundred heavily armed men. The only way to reconcile this is to reduce the titular monster of the franchise, whose insane unstoppability is literally the thing that drives the whole plot, to a disposable jobber. Which, I cannot stress enough, is the last thing you should ever do to the Terminator.

Story 2/?: complete.
Next one: in development.
What would you like to see happen in story three?
Story 1: Leave Me Alone! — Starscream is sick with Cybertronian Flu and (probably against his better judgement) Megatron decides to give him the best care he is able. When he begins to feel unwell in turn, he is not overly concerned. At least, not until his medic is.
Story 2: A Brave New Start — with a terminal illness diagnosed, Megatron begins to give the future serious consideration. How does he want to be remembered?
Story 3: Life on the Moon — the initial stages of peace, with Optimus Prime and Megatron co-leading their integrating former factions. What could possibly go wrong?

Back to the 80s by WeAreRetro
80s to me is the golden age of films, where film producers understands the meaning of "entertainment". Where people watch films and shows that makes them forget the harsh realities of life for a while to let their mind rest and their heart wander.
Unlike today where most films and shows are getting more realistic that they constantly remind you of reality that you are yearning to forget that you hardly have time for a quick respite. It's no wonder everyone is always on edge, frustrated, unhappy and unmotivated.
80s shows not only entertains you but inspires you. Their message is simple : no matter how dark it may seem now, it will turn out okay. There is hope. Hope keeps you alive and moving. Where else today, it's like telling you no matter what you do it's pointless.
So people gave in to despair, they become skeptic and lethargic. 80s films were great that many films today are either sequel, prequel, spin-off, reboot, remake or canon to the 80s franchise. While some succeed like Cobra Kai, some failed like Star Wars Trilogy Sequel.
The successful ones retain the spirit, vibes and values of the original, while the failed only takes the name and changes everything else while hoping to get the same or better rating and reaction from the fanbase, which is illogical as nothing beats the original.
Those who disliked them will be labeled all sort of things like purist, sexist, toxic, etc. But as Henry Cavill said, fans are not toxic, they're just passionate about things they love and cherish. Taking that away and repackage them into something different will upset anyone.
