Par for the course, Kureno wasn't quite paying attention to where he'd been going. Though, of course, this outing to the outside world was sanctioned- a shortage of people in the main house meant that he'd been sent to pick up a few necessary items.

He stumbled when he realized that he'd almost walked into something. It took him a few moments to blink and collect himself before he'd gathered enough of his wits to to the stranger he'd almost knocked over.

"My apologies, Miss," he said kindly, smile distant and guarded but warm. "I suppose my head was in the clouds- a bad habit of mine."

Just a Dream|| Kyoko and Tohru

Tohru had always tried to remain level headed when it came to exams. She knew that stressing out over them would only cause more harm than good, and if she just kept focus and studied as much as she could without overdoing it, she would be in good hands. But this time, for whatever reason, exams got to her. She was running thin between errands for the house, work, after school study groups, and then studying at home. Perhaps it was because these were important. They were the last set of exams before finals, before the final finals...the last that she would ever take in high school. They would determine her final grades, and where she stood at graduation, they would make or break how her transcripts looked if she ever decided to go on to college...they were important. 

And she was wearing herself ragged. Taking advice from Shigure and Yuki, she put down the books and leaned back in her chair, stretching her arms above her head and yawning widely. She needed a break. Her head was pounding and her stomach was growling, and her eyelids were drooping heavier by the minute. She dragged herself downstairs to poke around in the fridge, but finding nothing that would be a quick snack, she resigned to a couple slices of bread and cheese, and slumped back upstairs. One look at her desk-papers and pens everywhere, books lying open and in stacks around the desk on the floor- and she was discouraged, not to mention exhausted. 

"I won't be getting anything done like this..." she muttered to herself, rubbing at her eyes tiredly. Finally, with a heavy sigh, she turned from her studies and rolled onto her bed, pulling the blankets up to her chin. 

"Just a quick nap...five minutes....thats all..." she mumbled, falling asleep within a matter of minutes. 

                Tohru found herself walking down a park path. It was sunny, warm for a late fall day, but pleasant, so she couldn't complain. Wooden benches lined the path here and there, separated by beds of flowers and lamp posts. It was a gorgeous park, and she wondered how she had never walked it before. She had always meant to, but it was out of the way from her path home or to school, even with work or errands, it just never seemed to be convenient, so she just never considered  it. Now that she knew though, she would have to make it a point to come here more often. The trees were lovely, even in their dormant state gearing up for winter, and the large pond that the park seemed to have at its center was well kept and glassy looking. Not yet frozen over, just calm and still.

Ahead, Tohru could see a person-a woman, sitting on one of the benches. She was looking out over the pond, and the simple image made Tohru smile. It was nice to see someone just taking a moment to appreciate lifes simple pleasures. A nice fall day, a beautiful bit of scenery. Too often people just ignored all of these things for their hectic lives. No wonder there was so much sadness, when no one could stop to appreciate what was around them. As she passed the woman, she gave her a friendly nod and waved at her quickly, flashing her a smile, but it wasn't until she passed her completely that it clicked who the woman was. Tohru stopped in her tracks at the same time it felt like her heart stopped. 

The woman...younger, a red jacket, short red hair, a black skirt and boots...auburn eyes. She knew her. Of course she knew her, how could she ever forget that face, that style, that small, satisfied smile that seemed to constantly tug at the corner of her mouth. With a hitched breath, Tohru turned around slowly to look at her again. Maybe she just looked similar. That had to be it. After all, it was said that everyone has at least six people in the world who look exactly like them. But no...the woman was looking back at her, grinning, her arms folded over her stomach, very relaxed. She felt her feet move forward, closer to her now, her hands shaking nervously. But there was no way this could be possible. 

"M-mom?"

It’s about: Jack Sparrow’s last trip as a sailor before becoming a pirate. About Jack refusing to be made a tool of slavery. (Inspired by THAT scene from Dead Man's Chest with the brief conversation between Beckett and Jack.)

Why I’m proud: This is one of my favourite things I’ve written because I think it’s has a lot of insight and the serious drama of it mixes very well with the fantastical ending. I love to write introspective peaces and this might be one of my best. Maybe.

The Way I Love You The Way You Are

Fandom: Lord of the Rings / Silmarillion

It’s about: The life of King Oropher through the eyes of his son Thranduil. From infancy to adulthood, his virtues and flaws.

Why I’m proud: Its very poetically written and it flows very well. It’s again, an character introspection and is very full of feeling. I think I wrote the emotions and narrative very nicely. But it has been a few years since I wrote it so, I might not think the same now XD  

Freedom, Thy Name Is Confusing

Fandom: Defenders (Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage)

It’s about: Jessica and Luke realizing how warped Danny’s way of looking at things is because of his training at the K’un Lun and Jessica having a righteous fit of anger on his behalf. Difficult conversations about feelings.

Why I’m proud: While it might not the best story I’m very proud of the topics I touched and how I handled Jessica and Danny’s conversation. About how Jessica relates to having mixed feelings about the people you love.

I had the idea of redoing the artwork back in December of 2023 but then just... left it in the middle of the process for a looooong ass time. It's been a solid year+ now since I last worked on it, ngl. But I always liked the og idea of it and the idea of Elsa's magic coming from her father's side of the family (which was a theory that had gone around Tumblr before the 2nd movie was a thing.

I did my best to just clean up the things I needed too to just get it out! I really just wanted to get it done, but like, with a lot of love, cause I'm still very fond of it even if I have a lot of nit picks of past me's lines 😂

Anyway, I love these two to bits 🥺 maybe this'll give me the little push I need to go back to my Frozen fics. SIGH. Maybe.

The Deal

Rosinante, Doflamingo Donquixote and Trafalgar Law (One Piece)

Doflamingo doesn't have enough patience even to give Rocinante this moment. He swims around to face him, close enough for their fins to brush. Motes of light flicker in the water around him. "So sentimental," Doflamingo says. The disgust in his voice fades to indifference as he continues, "You've decided to make him human. Don't apologize now." He opens his hand, and light spills from his palm, catching in the swirling currents and eddies of the water. Unexpectedly, the light is gentle as it brushes against Law's skin and scales-- and as it does, Rocinante can feel the effect. Law takes a steady breath, then another, deeper and easier than they've been in months. The creeping white that had leached Law's colour retreats, then fades entirely. The flush from the fever lingers, Law's body not quite able to catch up with the cure, but that will soon break. Law is going to live. The lights flicker out. Rocinante looks up to meet Doflamingo's eyes-- as much as he can, through those glasses. "Thank you, Doffy," he says, and he means it. You Are Not Afraid of the Sea, My Child by @oswaldthatendswald

My contribution to the @corazonartcollab This is just his normal outfit, so, what makes it different you might wonder? Well the tears are an accessory of course ✨ duh.

I love the idea of Corazón being a guardian angel figure for Law. So that's a bit of where the inspo for Cora hovering over him came from. ALSO, I wanted to depict Cora in a sort of, dramatic renaissance pose, and I think I got it? Maybe if I actually painted this with acrylics or oils the intension of that would be more noticeable lol XD

Domesticity On The Run

Corazón, Baby 5 & Law (One Piece)

It came to his notice again only a day later, in their camp on the next island. Corazon was refreshing his paint after they’d escaped a bad rain, wiping the streaks- almost like tear stains- from his face. Baby 5 perked up when he’d pulled the little cases from his coat, “Can you show me how to do that?” “Hm? Oh, makeup? Sure, come on up, kiddo.” She clambered up onto his lap, watching diligently as he carefully painted his lips. The strokes were even and swooping, his hands steady and skilled from long routine. Law had found himself watching Corazon’s hands, ever since he learned about the nerve damage. The brush was accordingly held, not between the tips of the fingers, but between the second knuckles, and swept with movements of the entire hand. He finished with a flourish and a quiet ‘ta-da!’, and Baby 5 perked up, wiggling eagerly on his knee, “Now me!” “You want some, too?” She nodded fervently, “Yeah- it’s pretty.” He smiled, a tiny, genuine thing under the big fake one. “Alright, hold still.” Law was reminded, suddenly and painfully, of watching his mother do her makeup in the vanity, of his sister begging to partake in the daily ritual and ‘look pretty like mommy’. He pulled his hat down and turned away with a scowl, heart aching. Ch. 7 Names by Mallow_of_the_Marsh

GUYS, if you like Corazón and Law fics this one is SO GOOD. It's a AU about Corazón kidnaping Baby 5, it's called Hearts and Kisses I can't recommend it enough.

This was originally going to be one page but Cora was really so big that I had to move him to his own single page XD he just would NOT fit 😂

This piece is messy as hell but I kind of don't mind it a lot with this 🤔

Also, is anyone kind of peeved that he doesn't really look like the anime/manga Cora? Like, I'm not really, but I don't know if I should be.
