#Things to add to small items and magic for small items

Finished up with a few other things on some stickers, but couldn’t go without having some sort of symbol to put on the side of it either, or at least enough of the side that it would still leave room for a few other things. Thought I could fit something on the lid, till I realized how large some of the side was and the thing I was working with as well. So, went with the side instead and ended up decorating the lid with a smaller sticker. Though, still turned out pretty well. Still have a few more things to add to the collective, but couldn’t go without a few larger scale things having some of them as well, still have two that are waiting for an item, but the rest have found their home. Haven’t got around to much else either for the items, but still going pretty good so far.
Each one has space for about 1 to sometimes 4 decorations at maximum on some of them, but some have space for only about 3 to 1 scale of the size depending upon the length and sizes of the piece. However, still had the space and it’s now ready. Been busy with finding space for things, they’re all finding spots except for waiting on the larger scale of some things for the item that will personality fit the quality. Though, found most things a place.

It took literal months, but I finished it!!

Top left: linked universe logo
The jojo's lu logo is sooooo detailed. It is one of the things I love about Jojo's asethetic with linked universe. The detail she adds brings so much life and information about the world of Linked Universe. Great example is all the embroidery on the chain's clothing. Let's you know about civilization, that an item may be magical, etc. It is difficult to keep small details in watercolor, but I think I caught most of the main details in the painting.

Middle left: Soulful legend
This was the fourth of the images I did for the painting, and the first image I really started to get into the painting. I think legend is my favorite to paint because he makes composition so easy. The red tunic adds an easy focal point. I did learn from this that I do not like masking fluid and likely won't use it again. It added to many hard edges that I wasn't intending. Very happy with the sky!

Bottom left: Evening snack
In this image, I liked the idea that wind and sky don't know what Ramen is because their worlds don't have enough space to produce wheat. So sky and wind are super excited about this new food, while legend has no idea why they are so hyped for noodles. I also liked the idea that four found a green pepper in the ramen as a topping and is a hater (this is from a note that jojo left somewhere saying that the chain will eat anything but four in the Manga does not like green peppers, idk where this note is to link it though....). I didn't end up drawing the Ramen noodles as it was just getting too small of a scale for me to be comfortable drawing the thin lines for the noodles in.

Bottom right: Testudo
I am very hyped in the future when we see more collaborative fighting with the chain and them working together effectively. I absolutely love the scene in shifting shadows part 3 where lenged and hyrule work together with the beam and hookshot.

Middle: Legends storage
This is a reference to one of jojo's earliest works where the chain goes to legends storage for him to pick up some gear. I love that scene and I tried to put as many references as I could. The one thing I need to figure out is how I want twilight to look. I can't wrap my head around it. Need to sit down and just try out a bunch of different faces for him. My Pinterest inspo for twilight is all over the place. I want twilight to look different from time because when Malon was trying to guess who was the descendent, she did not consider twilight (she looked at wars and wind (so I typically draw time, wind, and wars looking similar). For my own personal headcannon, twilight and time are very similar in their manner (the way the walk, stand, etc) and personality (their stubbornness (as seen in sunset pt3)) but not necessarily in looks.

Middle right: Boat boys
The first image I did. I like how the water turned out, but I will not be using masking fluid for the same reasons I noted earlier. I did trace the boat (i think this is the reference [L240632 Hornet Class. J. Arthur Dixon Ltd. Beken and Son]). I do regret not doing anything creative with the boat, but I just wanted to get into painting and needed some confidence by working directly from a reference. I also forgot that legend might not be so keen to be on a boat again based on a comment jojo left in 2022 or something. I think she mentioned something in a discord event back then about legend not too willing to be on a boat again. But that doesn't really matter, I put that boy in a boat whether he likes it or not lol.

Top right: Winter storm
Second image I did for this painting. I did trace most of the horse because I do not care to learn horse anatomy (ref. [Winter Save By David Stoecklein]) Favorite part about this is the lighting on the rope from the lantern. I think it turn out well.

Top middle: Heavy armour
Third image I did for the painting and the one I realized I need to spend more time painting people in neutral or back lite lighting. But for my first time I think it is good. I really want to see what jojo does with the armour sets! I like the idea that war's armour is clean and pristine while wild's armour is rusted and beaten from the calamity. In this painting I played with adding pink to the golden armour and I liked it. In the middle picture of the collage (legends storage), you can see i added pink to time's armour.

That's everything! ❤️
#linkeduniverse#lu legend#lu warriors#lu chain#lu sky#lu time#lu wind#lu art#lu four#lu hyrule#lu twilight#lu wild#lu epona#watercolor#i felt as though i needed a large painting where i would just commit and have to live with whatever i painted#and i had so many references for the lu boys that i decided to make a collage of all of them#so i got the largest watercolour paper i could find (22x30) and just commited#i say this eveytime but i definitely learned a lot with this and i know where i should focus in the future#pencil lines? what pencil lines? i dont see any. Definitely dont see any#(for some reason my pencil lines would not lift so they are now forever in the painting)#(which is not a bad thing#i just wanted to not be dependent on the pencil lines and be able to bring form with only the paint

Some thoughts about room temperature at NRC Dorms (Diasomnia specifically)
First things first - yes, there's magic and fairies who control the temperature of NRC (as mentioned during the Fairy Gala event). But still, I want to talk about the Diasomnia rooms, because they look cold.
Let's start with Sebek's room (who else's)
His room makes me particularly worried, especially since we know he's sensitive to cold.
The walls are cold stone, and the floor seems to be either stone or tile - definitely not warm and cozy.
The carpet looks rather thin, and the space between the wardrobe and the bed is bare. I really hope Sebek wears slippers!!
There doesn't seem to be a carpet under the desk, but since it's located close to the larger carpet, maybe Sebek keeps his feet on that? or I still hope he wears slippers....
The headboard of the bed? I hope it's not leather - it's far from the warmest material for a bed.
The ceiling is quite high, which is not ideal for keeping warmth in the room.
I also hope the window glass isn't thin, otherwise it would let in cold drafts (if there are any in Diasomnia dorm realm??)
And about the training bench in his room? Sure, it's there because Sebek trains a lot, but maybe it's also a way to warm up in such a cold room....
At least one thing warms his heart - Waka-sama's portrait.
Now, Silver's room
The same cold stone walls and floor. Silver doesn't seem to mind the cold as much though - due to his training, of course.
The carpet in his room is small and thin and there's no carpet under the desk. But does he even mind? How much time does he actually spend at the desk studying anyway?...
The wardrobe is farther from the bed compared to Sebek's room. And I can imagine Silver walking to it barefoot, absolutely unfazed (I need to know more about Silver's dressing routine, how often does he fall asleep while getting dressed, etc...)
His bed is placed right against the wall with no extra layers for insulation. Which is cold!!!
And of course, there's the open window. I was already concerned about Sebek's glass thickness, but Silver's window is just wide open omg.
Clearly, Silver is very resilient to the cold. Good for him?... They also say you sleep better in a cool room, so it only adds to his sleepiness?...
Now to Lilia's room
Same walls, same floor. The carpet here feels purely decorative - it's so small and there's no carpet under the desk. However, I imagine Lilia's legs rarely touch the floor anyway (that's how I picture him sitting while on his PC )
The wardrobe is the farthest from the bed in this room, but again, he probably just floats to reach it.
The window is closed here. I was going to comment on how inconvenient it is to have sunlight hitting your face while using a computer/any gadget with screen, but let's be real, there are probably no sunny days in the Diasomnia realm, so it doesn't matter.
There's is also chandelier in Lilia's room (though I assume all 3rd years' rooms are the same?). The chandelier has lots of candles, but they likely emit light through magic rather than heat.
Another detail - Lilia's pillow is quite small. He probably rarely uses it, sleeping in the most bizarre positions (like hanging upside down bat-style).
And to Malleus' room
It has the same cold walls and flooring as the others but feels much more empty and lonely. Most likely, of course, it was intentional to reflect Malleus' character, but still.
The nightstand is empty - not even a book or a personal item.
On the desk, there are only two items: a figurine (which is a nod to Sleeping Beauty) and a three-candle candlestick. The number three might be symbolic, but it also just looks good, so who knows.
Like Lilia's room, Malleus' room also has a chandelier. Is it significant to fae culture? But most likely just for the Maleficent aesthetic.
The only "warm" elements in the room are the tapestry/flags - cherished gifts from a certain important person in his life.
It feels unnecessary to comment on the space between his wardrobe or the lack of a carpet under his desk since Malleus likely doesn't bother with changing clothes manually or sitting at his desk to study anyway.
His bed has two big pillows and one small - likely the one Malleus mentioned using to support his horns while sleeping. (No spoilers, but the 2024 Halloween event gave us some info about how Malleus sleeps lol)
Also, they are obviously provided with the bedsheets by the dorm, but I assume it's allowed to bring your own. We see Lilia getting creative, Malleus clearly has some royal-quality sheets, and Sebek's are the cutest - baby green, but quite plain (so nothing can distract him from being the perfect guard for Waka-sama). And I assume Silver doesn't care at all, and just uses the basic dorm sheets. Feel free to add your thoughts.
#these were just some random thoughts I had after seeing some people disliking Lilia's outfit#and being surprised or unhappy about how baggy and warm clothes look in the new BD line#I personally love it - just like I love all the clothes in twst#twisted wonderland#twst#diasomnia#disney twisted wonderland#twst analysis#sebek zigvolt#malleus draconia#lilia vanrouge#twst silver

Since Patch 8 is on the way and there are no hints on Wyll getting any updates by then, I humbly made a semi-comprehensive list of Things They Could Add To Him That Wouldn't Break The Game™
I wish they'd redo the final act of his character quest and I do have a lot of ideas on how they could make something that is actually about him while keeping Ansur's quest its own separate thing, but that is pretty much impossible to happen, and I see a lot of people say there's nothing that can be done since Larian will step back from bg3 after this next patch and it's too little time to add a whole new major quest. So, here's little things that would still add a lot to his story:
Act 1
Fans! He talks so much about being the Blade of Frontiers, and by playable characters' reaction, his name has reached far and wide. You're telling me none of these refugees are giggling because he's staying at the Grove to help them? Not even the little kids that he's literally training? That's like Lady Gaga showing up to give you singing lessons!?
A more extreme transformation if you spare Karlach. It just feels quite silly to me that he's so afraid of the refugees being scared of him when all that differentiates him from your average tiefling is that he has ridges on his face as opposed to just his body (and still, Zevlor has them, so what's the problem exactly?). I know there's a limit to what they could do to his model in a reasonable time frame, but like?? Sharp teeth? Claws? Pointy ears? Tail? Those are things you can easily borrow from a tiefling's model (If life was fair and god loved us all, Wyll would have digitigrade legs and wings, but oh well).
Something of the Duke for you to find in the burning building. Maybe a locket, something sentimental that concretizes in his mind that his father truly was kidnapped, and it can add an extra bit of dialogue if it's an item he remembers from his youth.
An actual, proper romance scene. What do you mean I can only give him a kiss and just let him drink by himself at the corner of the party? Let me sit with him by the beach!!!!
More party banter! I don't know why they got rid of his flirty lines with Lae'zel — I get that it's vestiges of his old rake-ish persona from the beta version, but I think it actually fits quite well with his current characterization. He compliments her eyes so poetically!! That's so Wyll! Also a bit of an early strife with Gale would be funny, considering the whole thing with wizards thinking warlocks took the ‘easy way’ to magic. The sussur blossom dialogue could spark another conversation between them where Gale understands Wyll a bit more (since he never actually wanted infernal powers in the first place), and it'd adds a bit of foreshadowing towards his eventual explanation for his pact in Act 2.
Act 2
Actual autonomy when standing up to Mizora. Why does the PC get to be the one confronting her? Little bits of dialogue before when you first find out about his pact in Act 1 could encourage him to stand up to her when she tells him to rescue a devil in Moonrise Towers. Let Wyll tell her to release him once the mission is complete.
Jaheira and Wyll linkup. Folk heroes that have to endure hearing the most absurd tales being made up about them? Gimme. Immediately.
Small interactions with NPCs in Moonrise Towers, like chiming in if you have him in your party while talking to the prison warden, immediately asking about the Duke's whereabouts.
An actual cutscene when he reveals the context around his pact. We saw Shadowheart and her damn wolf-dad a hundred times over, and it added a lot to her. Simply describing such a key situation in his life with such detail but no visuals is very counterintuitive, and it diminishes the direness of his situation and why he accepted the terms of the pact so willingly.
Some bits of dialogue about his early months of exile after the lore drop. Even with the power of a devil at his side, I doubt a 17-year-old took suddenly living in the wilderness very well at first.
A dialogue regarding Isobel and Ketheric, after you find out she's his daughter. Wyll too had a mother that died too early and a strained relationship with his father, the difference is that Isobel had memories of her mom and no justification for her dad's actions. I think he'd have interesting insight on what she's going through now that she's the last of her family line.
Act 3
Little interactions with key locations, key NPCs, just more for him to react to in general! That's his city, that he hasn't seen in seven years. Let him talk to people, recognize spots he'd go to, retell tales of his childhood misadventures!!
I get that he's a devil now, but having all Flaming Fists he meets immediately just disregarding him is so silly. He has the same damn face, why is no one shocked that Duke Ravengard's son is back after years with a pair of horns on his head and a bunch of weird people by his side?
More about his mother, especially if you save the Duke. Francesca Ravengard I may not know you but I adore you and I'd like to know all about your life, please.
Again, more people recognizing him as the Blade of Frontiers. There has to be at least a single merchant wagon stationed in Rivington that remembers him saving their produce from bandits on the road or something, come on.
Special dialogue while in the House of Hope. Raphael is apparently quite influential in Avernus, I'd like to think he'd have some books and tomes regarding warlock pacts, or even something that might hint to him and Mizora having dealings.
Autonomy!!!!! Let him decide if he wants to sever the pact and risk rescuing his dad on his own or guarantee Ulder's safety and give away his soul forever. I don't say to just take away the ability to sway his opinion at all, but at least make it a persuasion check like you have to do with every. characters'. most. important. decisions.
That's enough of a rant I think. Obviously I'd love for them to actually give his story a well-thought conclusion, but that would have to be made into its own post. Still, I think little bits like these, things that they could realistically add every other patch or so, would add a lot of meat to his character. Wyll has a lot of potential!!! It's just sad that so little is ever done with it.

Maybe a request where reader had a potion class accident with grim and idia as partners for it, and turned into a cat for a temporary amount of time due to a mishap?
I just think it sounds like idia would 100% milk this for all its worth cuz an event has occurred involving cats...
and i think grim being around with reader and idia would infact add to the cat meter, sounds amusing to me at least
Stay safe have a good day your writin is great :]
Mishaps and Kitty Cats - Idia x reader
love this request, combined 2 of my favorite things- cats and idia
Potionology wasn’t exactly a class you thrived in, but how hard could it be? You just mix some ingredients together, follow the instructions (mostly), and hope Grim doesn’t knock something over. Easy enough, right?
That was your first mistake.
The second? Teaming up with Idia and Grim.
Idia, hunched over his tablet, was busy calculating potion probabilities or something nerdy, while Grim was... being Grim. Pawing at random ingredients, making snide comments, and generally being more of a hindrance than any helpful mascot should ever be.
“I’m telling ya, we don’t need all these fancy-schmancy ingredients!” Grim huffed, flicking his tail dismissively. “Just throw in some catnip and call it a day!”
Idia, not even bothering to look up, mumbled, “Uh, no. That’ll throw off the potion’s balance and potentially, like, destroy the entire lab. But, yeah, sure, go ahead. I’ll just be over here doing the actual calculations.”
"Catnip," you muttered, shooting Grim a sideways glance. "Right. Because that's the missing key to magical success."
Grim puffed out his chest, as if the sheer confidence would make up for his utter lack of sense. "You mock, but I know what's what."
You sighed. Maybe pairing with the guy obsessed with cats and the guy obsessed with numbers wasn’t the best move. “Idia, are you sure you’ve got this under control?”
“I’ve got this down to a 96.8% success rate,” Idia said, tapping away on his tablet with the fervor of someone far too invested in digital alchemy. “The probability of anything going wrong is, like, practically nonexistent.”
You peered into the cauldron. It was bubbling ominously, more like it was contemplating murder than mixing into a helpful potion. “And the other 3.2%?”
“Well... worst-case scenario, you might end up as a squirrel. Temporarily. Maybe.”
Before you could even process what he just said, Grim—bless his chaotic little heart—decided to tip over a vial of glowing green liquid into the cauldron. “Oops.”
There was a brief, deadly silence. Then a whoosh of bright smoke exploded from the cauldron, enveloping you, Grim, and Idia in a thick, magical fog.
Coughing, you blinked through the haze. Everything seemed bigger, or maybe you were smaller. And then you noticed Grim staring at you with wide eyes, mouth hanging open.
“What?” you asked—or, at least, you tried to ask. What came out instead was a small, pitiful meow.
Grim blinked. Twice. “Nya?!”
Idia finally looked up from his tablet, and when he saw you, a grin spread across his face so wide it looked like he had just won the rarest item drop of his life. "Oh. My. Gods."
You stared at him, then down at your—oh no. Oh no no no. You had fur. You had paws. Your tail lashed back and forth as panic began to settle in. "I’m a cat?!"
"This. Is. Amazing!" Idia was practically vibrating with excitement, not at all concerned about your current feline predicament. "This is like, peak event status. You turned into a cat! This is exactly like that one episode of 'Magical Meow-taku no Monogatari' where the protagonist gets cursed and—"
Grim cut in, his tone somewhere between horror and indignation. “Nyaaa, wait a minute! I’m supposed to be the only talking cat here! This is outrageous!” His fur bristled as he looked between you and Idia, clearly not enjoying this turn of events.
You tried to hiss at Grim, but all that came out was a squeaky mewl. Great. Even your protests were adorable.
Idia, meanwhile, was thoroughly enjoying himself. “Oh man, this is like, prime meme content. We need to document this! Hold on, I’m sending a message to the dorm chat.”
You swatted at his leg with a paw, trying to stop him, but your efforts were in vain. He was already furiously typing into his tablet.
“‘So, uh, our partner just turned into a cat lol. 10/10, would pet again.’ There, sent,” Idia said, looking way too pleased with himself. He looked down at you, his expression downright giddy. “You don’t even understand how happy this makes me. A real-life cat transformation! This is like, a rare gacha pull, but better. Because it’s you. As a cat.”
Grim groaned dramatically, throwing his paws up. “Unbelievable! I can’t believe this is happening! Now there’s two of you! This was supposed to be my thing!” He shot a glare your way. “You better fix this fast, or I’ll never live it down.”
You tried to roll your eyes—well, as much as a cat could roll their eyes—and sat down, tail flicking impatiently. You’d really like to be human again, thanks.
But Idia wasn’t done. Not by a long shot.
“You know,” he said, voice taking on a thoughtful tone, “I could, theoretically, keep you like this for a while. I mean, think of the content. We could have a whole cat-themed channel. Imagine it: ‘Cat Adventures with the Prefect and Grim!’ You could be a streaming sensation!”
Your wide-eyed, horrified stare was lost on him as he started muttering to himself about potential subscriber counts and fan art. Grim, meanwhile, was rapidly spiraling into a jealousy-fueled rage.
“No way! This can’t happen! I’m the mascot! Me! Not you!” Grim wailed, tugging at his own fur as if his dignity depended on it.
In the background, Idia was already searching for the best cat toys to order online.
This was going to be a long day.

Concept: Santa has a memory-modifying machine and that's why parents are never suspicious of the extra presents under the tree.
[I may or may not write this as a proper story some day but in case I don't, have a look]
They all just have an implanted memory of buying it themselves. For people who are in poverty and struggling, this means that Santa does have to limit himself to 'realistic' gifts, but if a kid would be happy with a really cool puzzle or some candy they're not usually able to get, it's easy to frame that in the memory as "Oh yeah, I think I saw that they were giving away bags of this chocolate for any purchase over $20, so I grabbed an extra can of beans" or something.
If a kid's been really good, he can add some sort of "Parents entered a giveaway" memory for a bigger present, but too many of those might arouse suspicion.
Also possible is localized charities that get a lot of "anonymous" gifts that are actually from Santa.
And the volunteers that 'decide' which gift goes where are undercover elves who are making sure the presents end up with the kids who really want them.
@threebea said:
The rule with Santa is if an "adult" is aware of the magic he loses his power which is why he needs to go to lengths to make himself seem like a hybrid of commercialization and religion. He will definitely do other things if he has no justifiable way of getting something to a kid who doesn't get presents from their parents for whatever reason. Can range from extra luck like vending machine gave doubles or bus actually waited. He will reward goodness of children it might not be as much as he would like but he does what he can to continue being able to do it. He can't go as hard as he would like because too big and even memory modification won't be enough but he will try to get away with big stuff.
This kid was so good that he is rigging an xbox giveaway for them.
There's an elf that has to be like: No no, that's too big. Santa: I can spin it I can spin it. Santa also has a heist team to do the rigging of big ticket items. Sometimes they'll just set up a fake contest but sometimes they're like: This is our window, operation BMX is a go. Elf: There are not enough contests in this small town to justify this, Santa. You need to make a choice. Santa: Rich guy who wants to do Christmas miracle for children? Elf: You get one a year you wanna use that card? Santa: [narrows eyes] …. Two but in different countries Elf: This is not a negotiation. Santa: I feel like it is.
Exhausted second in command trying to keep Santa within the realm of reason but this jolly old man wants to be doing good so much.
Vigilante-ism
Vigisanty-ism Santa: We could haunt Jeff Bezos we haven't done that in awhile. Elf: No one will ever believe it don't be greedy.
#santa claus#christmas#one of my favorite christmas movies is The Santa Clause which is probably obvious#phoenix posts#holidays

Safety in Witchcraft
What’s not talked about enough in the spiritual community is mundane safety along with spiritual. Critical thinking is vital. I wanted to share a lot of my personal rules for myself that I have adapted into my craft.
Fire safety, never leave an open flame unattended. Ever. Always burn in an open enough area with a fire safe dish or on ceramic tile away from animals and children. If you leave the room extinguish the flame. Do not sleep with fire going. I know we want to keep that spell going even during a nap but sometimes we don’t wake up in time for danger. This is absolutely vital to keep you safe. It won’t ruin a spell I promise or anger anything. Please do not add those herbs to that candle. I know it’s nice and pretty but that is a fire hazard. Stay safe.
On that note always have an open window or a well ventilated area when burning items. That goes for herbs, incense, or candle. Smoke inhalation can ruin your lungs.
Rodents, reptiles, birds, any animal is sensitive to scents and have small respiratory systems. Be careful using anything around them. Research what can be used around them. I mean research! Cross reference. Use veterinarian hospital guides, not pro essential oil blogs. Please don’t put any essential oils on your pets. They can be seriously harmed.
Moon water actually molds, very easily. So can herbal blends if not stored correctly. Check frequently and use before end of date. Distilled water is your friend to prolongs shelf-life along is storing in a cold dark place.
Witchcraft and magic is not a replacement for medical treatment and medically prescribed medication. It absolutely can aid your treatment but it is never a replacement.
Do not ingest any herbal remedies without consultation with your doctor and/or Herbalist. Especially if you have pre-existing conditions and need to take medications for it. Things can conflict and are deadly.
Also forage responsibly. Unless you are 100% certain what you have foraged is the correct plant. Don’t even chance it. It’s not worth sickness or in worst cases death.
Do NOT ingest essential oils. I don’t care what you have heard from pro essential oil pages. The distillery methods are not safe for ingestion. It can tear up your stomach lining and throat. Cause extreme nausea and vomiting. Seizures and in worst cases death.
Some covens and practitioners are not your friends. Be cautious and use stranger danger. Be cautious and never give out all of your personal information online. There are predatory people everywhere, including in this community. Please be safe. Always use your gut instinct.
Please feel free in the comments and tags to add important safety pointers you have.

The Great Dad Bake-Off
Request: I know this is silly, but… can we have Chris trying his best to bake a cake? It could be for one of his kids!
Daddy Chris
It was 7:12 a.m when Chris decided he was going to bake his daughter’s first birthday cake himself.
Not order it. Not pick one up from the bakery two blocks down. Not ask anyone for help.
No. this was his mission. A declaration of pure, unshakable, dad love.
Lyra was turning one today, and Chris was determined that her first cake would be made from scratch by his own two hands, despite the fact that the last thing he’d baked was a frozen pizza, and even that had come out suspiciously crunchy.
Noah, perched at the kitchen counter in his Batman pyjamas, looked on with a five-year-old’s mix of awe and deep concern. “Daddy… are you sure you know what you’re doing?”
Chris, sleeves already dusted with flour and a smudge of cocoa on his cheek, gave his son a confident (read: mildly panicked) smile. “Totally. Cake is just like… a sweet, fluffy sandwich. Right?”
Noah blinked slowly. “That’s not how Mommy makes it.”
“Well, Mommy is a wizard. I’m more of a… cake knight.”
Noah didn’t look convinced. But he resumed munching dry cereal from his hand like popcorn at a movie.
Chris was reading the ingredients out loud to keep himself on track. “Okay. Flour. Sugar. Eggs. Baking powder. Vanilla. Butter. Milk.”
He lined the items up on the counter like a man about to perform a magic spell, only his wand was a suspiciously new electric mixer still in the box. He squinted at the recipe (a photo he had taken of a handwritten index card from his mom, which had a coffee stain on the measurements).
One egg cracked beautifully into the bowl. The second egg… not so much.
“…Do eggshells add crunch?” he muttered, fishing out shards with a spoon.
“Dad, are you making crunchy cake?” Noah asked.
“No! I mean, no. No crunch. Just… texture.”
By the time the batter was poured into the pans (unevenly), and the oven preheated (eventually), Chris was covered in flour, there were two kinds of sugar in the batter because he hadn’t realized they weren’t the same thing, and the cat had walked through a small puddle of spilled milk and left footprints across the tiles.
But somehow, somehow, the cakes came out golden. Lopsided, but golden.
Chris beamed like he’d just won “The Great British Bake-Off.” He let them cool (after sticking his finger in one to “check”, twice), then moved on to frosting.
The frosting was pink. Lyra loved pink. He may have used a bit too much food colouring because it was less “soft pastel” and more “neon flamingo,” but it was pink. And it was slathered across the cake like a toddler with finger paint.
He even wrote her name across the top in wonky letters with the icing pen: “HAPPY 1st BIRDAY LYRA!!”
The “birthday” was missing a “th” and the “1st” was backwards.
Still.
Noah stood beside him, peering up at the finished masterpiece. “It looks like a birthday volcano,” he said in awe.
Chris looked at it, hand on his hip. “Yeah. But like… a cake volcano. That’s cool, right?”
Noah gave a solemn nod. “The coolest.”
And when Lyra woke from her nap and was placed in her highchair, Chris brought out the cake, lit a single candle, and sang loudly (and slightly off-key), watching her eyes widen with wonder.
She smashed her tiny hand into it and squealed.
A success. A perfect, messy, frosting-smudged, dad-made success.

Headcanon: Dracule Mihawk With a Witch S/O

Mihawk is naturally drawn to his S/O's mysterious abilities and the aura of magic they carry. As someone with immense strength and skill, he respects those who possess power, and his S/O’s magical abilities intrigue him in a way few things do.
Though Mihawk is a man of few words, he often watches his S/O work their magic in silence, admiring their grace and control. He’s fascinated by how effortlessly they wield their spells and charms, much like how he masters his sword.
When fighting together, Mihawk and his S/O become a force to be reckoned with. Their magic complements Mihawk’s swordsmanship perfectly, creating an elegant and deadly combination. Mihawk trusts his S/O’s powers as much as his own, and their partnership in battle is seamless.
Mihawk enjoys learning about the arcane arts from his S/O. He asks thoughtful, probing questions about the origins and mechanics of their magic. Their late-night conversations are filled with intellectual discussions about power, mastery, and the ancient forces that govern both swordsmanship and magic.
Mihawk is patient when his S/O is experimenting with new spells or potions. He watches quietly from a distance, never interrupting unless they ask for his opinion. If something goes wrong, he simply raises an eyebrow and remains unfazed, trusting in their abilities to correct it.
While Mihawk respects his S/O’s independence, he’s highly protective of them when it comes to their magic. If anyone dares to underestimate or challenge their powers, Mihawk steps in without hesitation, his presence alone enough to intimidate most.
Mihawk is skilled at locating rare and powerful items, and he occasionally surprises his S/O with ancient magical artifacts or grimoires. These gifts are his way of showing his appreciation for their craft, though he presents them with his usual composed demeanor.
Mihawk’s calm and steady presence balances out his S/O’s sometimes chaotic magical energy. When they’re overwhelmed by a difficult spell or their magic acts unpredictably, Mihawk’s unwavering support helps them regain focus and control.
Mihawk’s island, with its eerie castle and ominous atmosphere, feels perfectly suited for a witch. His S/O’s magical energy only enhances the already mystical feeling of the place, and Mihawk enjoys the way their presence makes the island feel even more alive with enchantment.
Mihawk may not always express his feelings verbally, but his actions speak volumes. He never questions his S/O’s magical pursuits, allowing them the space to practice and grow. There’s a deep mutual respect between them, and his quiet understanding makes their bond even stronger.
If his S/O enchants Mihawk’s sword, Yoru, it’s a moment of deep trust between them. He doesn’t need magic to enhance his skills, but allowing them to imbue Yoru with protective or offensive spells is a sign of the high regard in which he holds them.
Though Mihawk has a stoic exterior, his S/O often enjoys using small, harmless spells to tease him. They might make his wine float just out of reach or conjure little illusions to catch him off guard. Mihawk rarely reacts outwardly, but the smallest smirk gives away his amusement.
Mihawk and his S/O are both comfortable with silence and solitude. They often spend time together in quiet companionship, Mihawk sharpening his sword or reading while his S/O brews potions or practices their craft. It’s a peaceful existence that they both appreciate.
Mihawk shares a dry, subtle sense of humor with his S/O, and they bond over dark, magical jokes that others might not understand. Their shared wit adds a layer of intimacy to their relationship, with Mihawk appreciating the cleverness his S/O brings to every interaction.
With his S/O being a witch, Mihawk contemplates the longevity of their lives. The prospect of them potentially living longer due to their magic doesn't worry him. He is unafraid of time and fully embraces the idea of spending his life, however long, with his powerful and enchanting partner.

Self-Aware Arcane ideas pt.1
_______________________
- I kind of realize that I haven’t exactly done or add anything for any self-aware scenarios for arcane as they were mainly based on isekai, and so here we are!!
- now I haven’t really thought much about it but I kind of think of a reverse isekai so instead y/n heading towards and being in arcane, cast tries to get to y/n world or gain some sort of connection/access to it. I mean I could have it where a different route on how y/n gets isekai to their world or have it where it’s both isekai and self-aware, but I feel as though it would be better to add some ideas if the arcane show gain sentients.
- I’m not entirely sure how I would I want for y/n being our lucky chosen one for their devices to have access to the world of arcane but I’m sure it would start small at first. I know normally you would have the usually setting of a storm ⛈️ hitting and magically that said storm would cause the devices to glitch and boom you get your starting point, but if I add it where the world the of arcane time loops got so much that something happen to glitch to our world, like a gem or something random that y/n finds and decides to take it home and add to their designs or decorations but by doing so causes the new form of link without y/n knowledge. Think of it like a infection idk why but like you see with the arcane hex core how it kind of acts like ai or a hive-mind so perhaps whatever y/n picks up had some sort of hex like magic exposure that causes it to form the link. Now I don’t think it would be “evil” or bad but just a reason or helper to why arcane would soon become more self-aware.
- I am kind of thinking some ideas from I remember for those Genshin impact self-aware stories but mainly based on memories. I also wouldn’t really want any cult au but I kind of see it where y/n is a voice that characters that you see in the show can hear, mainly adding it where instead just the main cast but legit the characters that you can see in the show, maybe to add some random npc moments of wtf. Maybe y/n would gain some outside influence and interaction within the show by being able to move or hear things other cannot see so y/n can be more involved.
- the only problem I face with this idea is that arcane is a show, a series that doesn’t exactly have much control like you have in open world games or just games in general, but maybe I could have where that venom like hex item effect how y/n interacts with the show where they can interact and interfere with acts and scenes that were suppose to happen to get a better ending for all cast.
- I might add more but it is getting long so I’ll probably stop here for now!

Hello, I saw you were opening up disabled/chronic ficlets?
If I may, could I please get some Mountain with fibro? I adore the pots rep you provide with Rain but it's hard to find rep for my other disability and Mountain is my boy. (Maybe with a side of SwissAlps if it's not too much trouble? I love the way you characterize them 🙏)
Mountain groans and leans further on his cane when he stumbles into the room he shares with Swiss. He’s in so much pain, it’s a miracle he’s still standing.
“Can we…the thing?” he chokes out, unclenching his jaw for only a second to speak before he grits his teeth again.
He’s pushed himself beyond his limit again—it’s his own fault, really, but that doesn’t change anything.
“Please?” Mountain adds, despite Swiss already nodding and standing up to come up to the earth ghoul. He’s gentle when he wraps his arms around the other to hold him up, to take some of his weight off of his legs, but it still makes him wince.
“Pressure pains this time?” Swiss asks for clarification, despite knowing it already. It gets so bad for Mountain sometimes that every single touch, whether another living being’s or an item’s, is simply pain.
“Uh-huh,” Mountain groans in confirmation.
“C’mon, in the nest,” Swiss pushes him gently towards the bed with a hand on the small of his back. These three steps that Mountain takes are a true challenge, but he manages—flopping back onto the soft mattress.
And even despite its softness, it still hurts.
Swiss is already working on remedying that, though. He takes Mountain’s cane from him and rests it against the wall.
Swiss being a multi ghoul—and a quite skilled one, at that—allows him not only control over all the elements separately, but makes him able to join and use them together for various tricks.
This one just might be his favorite, if only for the fact that it takes away his mate’s pain.
Mountain adjusts on the bed, laying in the middle of the nest on his back in a starfish position. Swiss takes a deep breath in the meantime, clearing his mind and gathering up his power.
“Ready?” he asks Mountain once he is ready. The earth ghoul nods—barely there from how exhausted and aching he is, but still there.
Swiss hums, closes his eyes, and grabs a hold of the element of air in his right hand, and quintessence in the left. With his mind’s eyes he sees tendrils of yellow and violet twisting together and wrapping around the glowing outline of Mountain’s body in the darkness.
The multi ghoul focuses on sinking the quintessence inside, into Mountain’s confused nerve endings, while the air magic tangles up into a pillow under him. He pushes at it from the bottom and wills it to lift and–
Swiss can hear the earth ghoul moan in relief with his actual ears.
“Fuck,” he swears, as his body lifts up from the bed and starts to hover just a couple inches over it. At the same time the pain-relieving quintessence starts working and Mountain finally stops feeling.
Well, not exactly—it’s not that Swiss paralyzes or numbs him. No, it’s just that the earth ghoul is floating, so there’s no pressure against his body whatsoever, and it paired with the quintessence is simply…wonderful.
“Thank you,” he chokes out and there’s a wet tone to it. Swiss deems his powers stable enough for him to open his eyes and look over at the earth ghoul. When he does, he notices a single tear flowing down from the corner of Mountain’s left eye down to his ear.
“Good or bad?” Swiss asks.
“Good. Relief.”
The multi ghoul smiles, walking over to the bed which his mate is currently levitating over. “I’m glad.”
He sits down at the edge and reaches out a hand to fiddle with the barely there strings of magic supporting Mountain’s body. He’s confident in them, even though it looks as if it’s only a couple of hair-thin threads.
The multi ghoul knows that even if he’d fall asleep, they wouldn’t fail.
His magic loves Mountain just as much as Swiss himself does.

You Give Them a Magical Companion (Team Free Will x Male Reader)
A/N: So this idea of mine originally started as just stuffed animals given to them but I wanted to give it a more 'supernatural' vibe lol. I couldn't find an exact mythology for what I wanted to do so I took a bunch of inspiration and just made my own thing. I'll probably make another post later on fleshing this idea out because why not?
What you need to know for the sake of this post is that the reader can imbue an item (Usually Jewelry) with a magical creature influenced by the wearer. Anyway with that out of the way consider this my birthday gift to you all, and enjoy!
-
DEAN
When it came to Dean you decided that a bracelet would be the best option for him. Mostly because you remember Dean complaining about rings getting scratched up when opening beers and him getting hit in the teeth by necklaces. He will forever deny fanboying over the fact that his companion turned out to be a wolf but that doesn't stop him from subtly bragging about it once in a while. Dean's companion is mostly used during hunts to help track down monsters or sometimes help in battle if Dean really needs it. When not on a hunt Dean can be found hanging out in the Batcave with the wolf sitting close by.
SAM
For Sam, you decided that his item would be a ring. You didn't want to choose anything that stood out too much and a ring seemed like the perfect subtle piece of jewelry. Sam was a little worried that the world would decide to make his animal a moose but much to his relief, it turned out to be a simple owl. The owl became a kind of study buddy for Sam as he would ask his companion to find certain books for him while he focused on other tasks. In return, Sam would give the owl scratches which it would coo at, and eventually, he even made it a small nest in his room for it to rest on whenever it wanted.
CASTIEL
Figuring out what item to give Cas was a challenge since Cas didn't seem to have a big opinion on the matter. Eventually, though you decided that he would have a necklace. When Cas accepted the gift and saw that his companion was a cat he was confused but of course accepted it. Cas didn't know what to do with his new companion but after a bit of contemplation, he decided to get all the needed items for a cat owner and set them up in his room in the bunker. Though Cas's companion didn't require any food or water to live it did eat any food and drink any water that Cas gave it. Usually, the cat can be found perched on Cas's shoulder watching the people of the bunker.
CROWLEY
Thinking about how Crowley you knew that a brooch would be a good choice for him. You thought it was the perfect fit for someone whose closet seemed completely made of suits. When Crowley laid eyes on his tiger companion he thought that it was an apt creature to be paired with. Crowley is quick to befriend the companion and learn as much as he can about it. During meetings and interrogations, Crowley will sometimes let the tiger sit close to him as a way to add a little extra intimidation factor. When not busy with something Crowley will let his companion roam around especially when Crowley's with the Winchesters just to annoy them a little bit.

Here I am again! As my explanation for the ship, one day while me and my friend played Forsaken we tried to do voice acting for the characters we played. At first, He played as Shedletsky and I played as Two Time, but then he switched to Telamon. The way we made the two of them interact was pretty sweet, making both of them be pretty knowledgeable about a lot of things and with that they got along well, both being wise yappers. So, in conclusion, a ship was born. Another note to add about Telamon is in our shared headcanons he’s kind of a spirit of sorts? He shares a body with Shed and kind of pops out to take over at times, magically getting his robes on whenever he’s in control and switching back out of them when Shed comes again. Now for the headcanons!
Whenever the two of them cuddle and are happy together, Two Time purrs and Telamon coos like a chicken.
Two Time tends to get a more insane and feisty when in their second life, and Telamon tends to calm them and help them through it.
They’ve thought about getting married, but it’s complicated because Builderman and Shedletsky have already gotten married, so for now they remain partners.
Although Shedletsky has no attraction for Two Time, Telamon shows much of it for them.
Whenever Shedletsky’s in control and Two Time is near, Telamon often shares his little compliments and comments about Two Time in Shed’s mind, making them loud and clear.
Although Telamon cares deeply for Builderman, Two Time has grown on him and reached a higher soft spot of love in his heart.
The both of them occasionally have quiet moments, where they just show affection to each other without any words.
They both share a love language of gift giving, often gifting small trinkets and items to one another.
I think that’s all I’ve got for now, I hope you enjoy my little crackship! I think about them very often.

not necessarily an info post but just a rant i've been thinking about:
being a magical hero is inherently political.
i've seen people in the community before shying away from "political" topics because they're "not into politics", or political topics make them uncomfortable, or are completely neutral. if you are not a cis, straight, neurotypical, able-bodied, white man; your existence is made inherently political by our oppressors. many of us magical heroes are queer, afab, bipoc, and/or disabled, and our rights are always going to be intersectional.
unfortunately, we're at a point where human rights are being made into "politics" by people who intend to erase our stories. queer people being stripped of their rights, deportations without due process. we're watching history repeat itself each and every day. with each new headline, we find ourselves deeper in a world where we fear for our safety and that of our family, friends, and neighbors.
now we get into where this applies to us magical heroes.
i see many people trying to do good things in their mundane lives alongside their magical lives. whether it's helping individuals, or donating old items. that's great. however, i do feel like there is more that can be done.
do your research into different organizations and support whoever you can, by donating or sharing. share gofundmes. get into mutual aid circles, donate and share whenever you can.
do your research on issues happening around the world and take a stance, spread the word, start meaningful conversations that could incite education and change. keep your eyes, ears, and mind open.
register to vote if you legally can, vote in local elections as well as national. contact your local representatives.
do volunteer work for soup kitchens, animal shelters, or outreach programs.
learn CPR and first aid, get certified. learn your country's sign language or another spoken language.
get in touch with your local community; attend meetings (for example, school clubs); attend fundraising events in your community; support small businesses in your local community and beyond.
if you're religious, attend services where you go to worship. do volunteer work there if you can. read your religion's scriptures and literature and study them.
just try to talk with your neighbors! building an aspect of community is so important in times like these.
and SO much more that i may have forgotten!!
you can be fighting real monsters as well as metaphorical monsters: poverty and homelessness, hunger, ecocide, genocide and war crimes, all created and upheld by oligarchs that want to divide us in order to generate revenue.
you can't pick and choose your battles, whether in your mundane life or in your magical life. you have to fight for everyone or no one at all. neutrality is complicity.
at the end of the day, use your common sense.
please feel free to discuss this and add on if you'd like :)

Secrets of the Clow, Part I: Card System Foundations
Whether you are inspired to emulate Sakura Kinomoto’s journey as a Cardcaptor or you are purely interested in exploring magical systems and techniques, there are few experiences more fruitful than deciding to create your own tarot or oracle deck.
With all of the planning, associations, and other considerations that go into developing something like a tarot deck, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Hopefully this series of posts will elucidate the foundations of creating a card-based divinatory system and help you determine how you want to organize your own!
This post is part of my Magi Praxis series. If you have any suggestions for future topics, or you have attempted anything I have shared and want you share your experiences, please send me a message! I am always happy to go back and provide further explanation as well. ☆
The first thing to consider when building a card system is determining now you ultimately want to use it. Some questions you can ask yourself are:
⭒ What card systems do I gravitate towards? (ex. Tarot, Lenormand, oracle decks, etc.) ⭒ What divination systems am I comfortable using? (Even if they’re not card-based! Many times you can utilize other divinatory methods, such as using a pendulum or curios, with cards for nuanced results.) ⭒ How many cards do I want in my deck?
There is no right answer to any of these questions—it is purely a matter of preference and functionality—but once you have an idea of what you want, do some research! Look at decks you like using or that you are drawn to and take note of how they are organized. Does it follow a traditional or established canon or does it offer an original approach?
Many Tarot decks use the qabalistic Tree of Life (derived from the Jewish mystical teachings of the Kabbalah by Western occultists and esotericists) at least as a framework for the Fool’s Journey emulated in the Major Arcana. If you’re looking for a plug-and-play method of organization, this is a respectable avenue to that end. Alternatively, you can check out the work my partner has done on @covn if you want a less syncretic system to build off of. (While it looks similar to qabalah on the surface, the tree referenced throughout the blog was created out of series of mathematical emanations that just happens to look similar to the sefirot!) I highly recommend his work, and have used it in my own practice and in my personal deck creation as a meta-paradigm to work from, but it is not necessarily beginner friendly.
A potential downside of deciding to tackle the Tarot is that a standard deck has 78 cards—that’s a lot of work for one person to take on! For reference, my deck consists of 42 cards and that still took a long time to develop! While I will go into how my deck is organized in a follow-up post, I tend to describe it as Lenormand Plus™. Lenormand decks typically consist of 36 cards, which is definitely more realistic of a project for most practitioners to handle on their own. A quick web search yields many beginner-friendly introductions to the traditional associations and reading techniques, if this is something you’re considering!
If you’re seeking a more intuitive approach, many oracle decks throw traditional frameworks out the window and work more like curios or magpie oracles. These divinatory systems have roots in various folk traditions and consist of various small items that are collected by the practitioner and are cast on a surface for reading; each item has specific associations, sometimes only known to the practitioner, and can be interpreted by itself and/or in conjunction with where it falls in relation to other items. When creating a deck with this mindset, there is no map holding you back—you are free to include whatever you deem appropriate. And while this may seem like the simplest approach on the surface, I can say from experience that you can easily want to add in too many cards in order to feel like you’re ‘covering all the bases’. (I made a curio deck as an experiment several years ago and I quickly had over 100 cards! They were fun to read but the amount of cards was kind of unwieldy and were awkward to shuffle, etc.)
Once you feel comfortable moving forward with a plan to guide your decisions, it’s time to start figuring out what you want to include in your deck! In the next part of this series, I’ll use my deck as an example of how I looked at Sakura Kinomoto’s Sakura and Clear Cards for inspiration and used the C-ov-N system to decide what to include and how!
