He fought the urge to sigh as the bell over the door chimed - it was annoying, even though he had picked the least ostentatious one. He took a moment before glancing up, marking the place in the book open on the counter with a delicate finger, but he hadn’t expected to see Remus Lupin headed up the aisle toward him. Severus did not let the surprise show on his face, instead merely lifted a single eyebrow curiously. Surprisingly, the man’s presence was not as unwanted as it once had been. Not that they were friends, or anything, he’d be quick to correct you.
“I see you got my owl.” He said quietly, having waited to acknowledge the other until he was directly across the counter from him. Severus had mailed him a note a few days prior that he was waiting on a backorder of supplies.

Sirius revved the engine obnoxiously as he ripped around the corner - sure Remus could likely hear him coming. He hoped, at least. The motorbike purred beneath him, happy to be used after too long a time in the garage as he had traveled for the Dueling Circuit. It had missed him as much as he had missed it.
He revved again as he came to a screeching halt in front of the small flat, ignoring the glances of the people around him, using his foot to drop the kickstand while at the same time taking his helmet off and hanging it from the handlebar. He bent to scoop some small pebbles from the ground, grinning impishly as he chucked the first at the window. “Come on, you oaf! I know you hear me!”

She had been trying to take the day off - not that she was very good at it. But still, determined, she had gone for a run, cooked her own breakfast (and discovered she had avoided it all these years for a very good reason), and been bored my mid-morning. Taking Brisket to the dog park had been a good idea, but he tired himself out faster than she did, and unsure what else to do, she had decided to take him shopping.
She was busy looking at a stall of fast drying inks and self writing quills when there was a sharp tug at the leash, almost pulling her sideways, and she felt Brisket’s fur against her legs. Glancing down, the dog had all his fur along his spine raised, ears pinned back…. protecting her? Eyebrows thoroughly furrowed, she glanced around, holding her hair out of her face.
Her eyes landed on Remus and she grinned wickedly, patting Brisket with a murmured “good boy’ before straightening up and letting her shoulders relax. “Well, well…” She drawled, crossing her arms over her chest. “And here you thought it'd be me spilling your little secret.” She licked her lips, chuckling, speaking low enough that only Remus could hear her.

who: @rjluqin where: a safe house when: you know when, after murder
This was not a meeting Kingsley wanted to have. Thankfully, it wasn’t one that he had to have with Dumbledore, who was busy after such an eventful day. Still, it wasn’t going to be any easier to face Frank or Remus, considering the outcome of Harry’s kidnapping, but things needed to be discussed. Especially since Kingsley hadn’t been able to learn anything to save Harry. What was the point of a spy if they didn’t have the information needed to make a change and save people.
He wasn’t surprised to see Remus was the person he was meeting. He was happy to see his friend. Well, as happy as anyone could be at this time. “Hello, Remus,” Kingsley nodded to the other man, his hands in his pockets. Remus, was one of the few people Kingsley could be himself around, and right now that meant he was spewing with guilt and sadness. “Thank you for meeting me. I know this is the last thing either of us probably want to do right now.”

Sirius had a drink in both hands and a wide smile on his face - it was getting easier and easier to forget the latest slight from his family. A lifetime of practicing had made it second nature, and as he spotted Remus across the room, the Malfoys were the last thing on his mind.
He was still halfway away when he shouted "Rem!", voice booming over the other noise. He made his way to his friend, knocking one of his drinks against Remus'. "Did you see the witch in the light up skirt? I need one."

Andromeda quite liked Remus even if her opinions on him was rarely spoken out loud. He seemed to be the only one of the friend group that seemed to be trying to positively influence the others. This was, of course, just Andromeda's observations as an outside third party and she didn't care enough to try to get deeper into it.
She nodded at his question. It was a good one at that and she agreed with him entirely. There was no way anyone could find someone in a crowd like this. Too many people familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. It caused her to second guess who was her sisters let alone someone she might just be a friend. "I'm more surprised that he isn't with you than he is hard to find," she started. Sirius unattended was definitely a problem. "I reckon it's likely not a good thing he isn't with you."
Who: Remus & @blackestrose Where: Corridor outside the Great Hall
Remus had been feeling terribly uncomfortable all night. He'd never attended something quite like this before and he felt completely out of place. The music was good, but there far too many people around for him to actually enjoy himself. It seemed as though as soon as he found one of his friends, somebody would take them away for a dance, or for punch, leaving Remus on his own to fend for himself.
He stood in the corridor outside of the Great Hall, it was much less crowded. At least out here he was able to breathe. He hoped he'd find one of his friends, but it seemed as though the whole corridor was filled with Ilvermorny students. And…. Andromeda Black. Remus hadn't known much about Andromeda, besides the fact that she was Sirius' cousin, and she seemed to be much like the rest of the family. But, she was the only person he recognized around, so he approached cautiously. "Andromeda, good evening." He greeted with a small smile, "You look lovely. Have you, by any chance, seen your cousin around? Can't find a single person with all of these extra students here."

He eyed the other man with a scowl, although even he had to admit that Remus probably made a good point. "Still, why add to the list?" He grumbled, half under his breath, unable to completely give in.
"My reasons for attending are entirely none of your business." He answered back shrewdly, although his voice was still only loud enough to be carried over the crowd. "And I'm sure you've noticed by now not everyone thinks being an irresponsible delinquent is any fun." Truth was, Severus had been enjoying himself that night, up until now, anyway. It wasn't his fault that their small minds couldn't fathom a sober, educational time being enjoyable.
Severus sighed heavily as he looked down at none other than Remus Lupin. "Yes, here we are." He rolled his eyes. After all he had done for the man, he hardly thought he needed to offer him any more help, but he extended a hand anyway. He didn't want him to get trampled, after all - he had no one else to persuade to try his variations of Wolfsbane.
Helping Remus to his feet, he quickly wiped his hand on the outside of his robe with a light sneer - it was clear the other had been partaking in an entirely different side of the festival than himself, and Merlin only knew what he'd been touching. "Count yourself lucky this is an old robe, or I'd have hexed you."
#i also have their thread from before which only had like two replies so lmk if you want to switch to that one or smth <3#thread:remus#event:firefly festival

This wasn't exactly Severus' sort of event, but he had to admit it was better than others he had unfortunately been a part of over the years at his friend's behest. The displays were an interesting sort of magic - and some, not actually magic at all. He found the flowers of particular interest, and was browsing a small booth to see if there were any seeds available.
Somebody stepped on the hem of his cloak and he pulled it harshly from beneath them, at the considerable risk of toppling them - he sort of hoped he did. "I suppose since I am not making a spectacle of myself, I've turned invisible?" He asked, voice soft.

Severus simply stared at him blankly, even as he gave him a compliment. Was it really a compliment, though - or simply a fact? Severus knew his own skills, he was a better potion maker than most in the area - dare he say most in the industry. At least, he was well on his way to being the second.
"I always have a back up plan." He replied silkily, although he was less inclined to help the man than ever after the Firefly Festival. Luckily for Remus, he was a man of his word. "I've tweaked the formula. It should work just the same, but without a test subject," He eyed the man dubiously. "I would take precaution regardless."

He laughed as Remus hollered back down at him, but dropped the rest of the pebbles all the same. He leaned against his bike as he waited, glancing at the people around them, but his attention snapped to Remus as the door opened. "There he is!" He beamed, standing up straighter and moving to clap him on the back in a half hug - it had been longer than he'd like since he was his friend, work having kept him away. "That was the plan." He laughed. "I took off the sidecar though so, we're gonna have to get cozy."
