Well. Finally got pulled into the Mouthwashing fixation lol. It was only a matter of time.

So like- I’m in this weird middle ground right now where my head is still stuck in a dc fixation and now Mouthwashing is there too. Like, I can’t think of one without the other. This is wild.

Anyways uhhh yeah. Mouthwashing is a really good and well-written game and I could probably write an essay just analyzing it 👍

I was gonna initially just leave this as a reply but I'll probably exceed the word limit, but I like this question! This is a good question :]

Honestly with it being this early on in Batman's career, and with Nightingale being the designated emergency support, I can pretty confidently say that Danny's relationship with the other Rogues ranges from neutral to dislike, and vice versa. Just by virtue of it being really early on in all of their careers and thus Rogues like Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn and stuff, haven't had the character development to otherwise be someone worth, eh, well, liking.

Nightingale's role as 'emergency only' means that he's really not seen that often. Bruce is a pretty master escape artist so for him to get in a situation that requires Danny to feel like he needs to step in is rare.

I haven't gotten Nightingale's persona completely set in stone yet, I'm still bouncing around with ideas, but the current gist I've got for him is that he's honestly pretty quiet. He's not there to engage in a fight or banter, he physically can't; he's there to aid the Batman and that usually means subterfuge, sabotage, psychological tricks, to just straight up shooting people with tranq darts depending on his mood that day.

The Nightingale posts I have here are hyperbolic and a bit exaggerated for my own amusement and entertainment, albeit still reflective of what I'm thinking of for the fic. The post this comment came from is a special case in that it was a joke idea I came up with and felt like sharing. It might show up in fic, just in a different format.

With that being said, from the POV of the Rogues, it means that the Batman has this protective little shadow that will pop up at random and either enact psychological warfare on them (distract them long enough for Batman to free himself), break their stuff (make it easier for Batman to free himself), or straight up shoot them with a tranquilizer, and you never really know which it will be until it's happening. Sometimes its all three.

Sometimes its neither of them; sometimes its him freeing Batman without ever making his presence known. One moment the Bat was trapped, the next he's not.

I don't think they even learn what his name is for a while either. He's probably just called smth like 'the Shadow' until people find out his name is Nightingale.

Safe to say though, the Rogues don't like Batman's little shadow that much, and even if he doesn't show up, he invokes this unwilling paranoia in a lot of them whenever they have him trapped. Besides, he's associated with Batman, the guy who keeps trying to stop them, that makes Nightingale a hated figure on principle.

As for Danny's opinion on the Rogues, I don't think there's any of them that he necessarily likes. Sympathizes with, sure, but not like. Folks like Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy and Babydoll fall under his 'cool motive, still murder' banner, where yeah he gets where they're coming from, but that doesn't excuse the harm they're doing. While folks like Black Mask, the Penguin, or Joker, fall under his 'what an asshole' banner, where he doesn't like them just for the obvious reasons of they're hurting people for power.

He probably likes Catwoman honestly, but her main profession is also thief not murderer so she has that going for her.

I don't think he'd have any special opinions on the other ghost characters. They're ghosts; water is wet, fork found in kitchen.

But yeah, as of the timeline right now Danny's opinion on the Rogues and vice versa are what you'd expect. He's not in the field often enough to form a relationship with any of them beyond the normal one, and considering his schtick is "you made Batman need my help" he's not particularly inclined on changing it. Child ghosts can be so protective yk, especially clingy little traumatized ones with separation anxiety.

I love the idea that, whenever a Cybertronian space-faring vessel lands or docks within a predominantly non-Cybertronian space station or port, that it's required that they either confirm or deny whether their vessel is sentient or not before being permitted to land.

1. For proper accommodation and clarification, along with the chance for communication between the vessel and crews working the station/port.

2. Because there has been... incidents... incidents that have led to the requirement of the above reasons.

browsing stormlight art on tumblr and ran into a post about how different dalinars life would have been with a somewhat healthier childhood and i think someone tagged it 'kaladin adopts young dalinar au' or something

anyways i propose a Make Everybody Worse au. teenage dalinar and gavilar get dropped directly into formenos and unofficially adopted by feanor a few years before the flight of the noldor. they both participate in the First Kinslaying/Oath/Losgar and then feanor dies. maedhros adopts them and then thangorodrim happens. maglor adopts them for a few years until mae gets rescued. they participate in the first few decades of the wars of beleriand, after which they get dropped back into the middle of alethkar.

on the noldorin side of things, m&m assume the random children they sort-of adopted (300some years before Secondborn were awakened) got killed somewhere in the battle. the kidnap fam situation now has the additional context of m&m having known even more pairs of children who died because of the Oath - one pair killed in the Second Kinslaying, one pair who presumably died in battle because they swore the Oath

on the alethi side of things, dalinar & gavilar are now Oathbound kinslayers who just lost five-to-ten parental figures and all their friends, and spent most of their lives being actively encouraged in war and military strategy. they also skipped the entirety of the navani-related conflict and are probably somewhat closer because of that. violence ensues.

Aging down the riders in my HTTYD crossover means that their interactions with Viggo are now drastically different. Because now he’s facing off against kids. They’re still a pain in his butt, but they’re kids. And I like to think he has some grounds against badly hurting kids. So while outlining the story I’ve had to rework some of his plans and motivations.

Nothing too crazy, just wanted to share that his character will be a bit different than it is in the show because his opponents are significantly younger than they were in RTTE so it affects how he goes about dealing with them

Where Amity has been near abandoned for years, untouched and unaged if not for the destruction from long ago, when (GIW, Ecto-Contamination, the Portal, Whatever or Whoever) demolished it.

Of course nowadays it's long forgotten, a city laid to ruin, slipping from the minds of those that left. Until someone finds it again, and finds a place of forgotten dreams, the living dead, and a towering figure cloaked in red with a large needle-esque weapon to their neck.

i have reached the point of:

do i want to write endless eight with a lot of minor variations or different scenes?

or do i just want to leave it as is and use strike-through in chapters to show places that are different in other timelines?

or do i want to do that choose your own adventure thing like in--

you know what, actually having a choose your own adventure option in each of the chapters sounds like fun. and then depending on which ending you pick in one chapter, it leads you to a different final chapter.

but the final final chapter only goes up for that last update of june, maybe.

i don't know how to do this on tumblr is the problem.

because ao3 has that CYOA option so that depending on which option you click, you can get a different scene, while the main bulk of the chapters would be the same (probably) as with the endless eight anime arc.

but i don't think there's a way to do that click and open something while leaving the rest unopen option on tumblr.

i got around it in junko in ddlc by having a link to a private post with the poem on it, but that's not the same.

idk. i've got a little less than a month to play around with this here on ye olde tumblr to see if i can get it to function properly. and i may just do it like the junko in ddlc thing - with multiple private post options that the different links lead to depending on which one you click.

i'll look around and see if someone else has options for this. if they don't, i'll just. i'll figure something out. we'll have fun!

Something that probably could be an Invader Zim episode:

The children at the Skool perform a play called "The Tattered King" in the auditorium. Apparently, Zim, unaware of what type of creature this play summons, tricked the theater teacher to organize this play and assign the children different roles all with the intent of taking over Earth. And of course, Dib is the only one who has caught on to this and is trying to stop the play from getting to the climax/ending scene.

I can see this going one of two ways:

-Dib actually interferes with the play and fights with Zim, thus preventing the climax from happening.

-The play actually reaches the ending scene/climax and...yeah let's just say there's tentacles everywhere and everyone fukcingf dies (or goes mad).

Ngl, the thought of Zim playing the role of the King and Gaz playing the role of Cassilda sounds awesome, though.

Minnesota Fats possibly has an Extended Ryu Number of 4, though there is some room for argument. If only the real Rudolf Wanderone is considered, then the best connection would require counting a televised pool competition. However, when considering the novel/movie character we get a much stronger link through the same exact person as the pool competition: Willie Mosconi.

Willie Mosconi cameos in the film adaptation of The Hustler as himself (he is credited and referred to as Willie in the movie).

Willie Mosconi appears alongside Liberace in What's My Line S14 Episode 1 and Liberace appears in Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff with Peter Griffin, who gives a Fortnite connection. So the chain would be:
