WIP - Alcohol Mod (+ mini Tillage Update!)
To make a long story short, I had to restart my current world, Tillage, because I was trying to uninstall a mod but it couldn't be done safely and was spurting out so many script errors and lagging my game etc etc. So, I have all new sims living in Tillage!
The last family in my rotation were who I made the taxes and benefits mod for, and this current family has sparked this new mod.
Tumblr media
What's the point of having a liquor shelf, when the only liquor isn't even drinkable because it has the Hobo Script OBJK attached? I haven't had that mod installed for years!
Not only is there alcohol, complete with different glasses depending on the occasion...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's also fruit juice, that even toddlers can enjoy...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And water, straight from the kitchen tap.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So there's something for everyone (except babies!).
Drunk sims may act differently depending on their current traits/buffs. Hangovers creep up on sims and the symptoms can be lessened/managed through certain activities. Binge drinking is a thing, and can have consequences.
Tumblr media
I even made a custom commodity/motive so that sims may be pushed to do certain drunken activities autonomously.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This mod has been a bit difficult because I really hate working with props + converting animations means finding appropriate voice files, and making jazz scrips and whatnot.
This mod really isn't perfect however, I'm like 85% finished and it's finally completely stable!

Now that the autumn harvest is over and we have entered the dormant season, farmers are busy preparing their fields to overwinter until early spring. Fall tilling is a farming technique that has been used for centuries to refresh fields before they lie fallow for the winter. However, the practice of tilling has come under increased scrutiny in recent years due to environmental concerns and much debate now surrounds the issue. In fact, tillage is such a hot topic that the USDA puts on their own #NoTillNovember campaign that plays off the popular “No-Shave November” awareness effort.
What is Tilling? Tilling is defined as the agricultural preparation of soil by mechanical agitation of various types, such as digging, stirring, and overturning. Tilling can be human or animal powered but, on most farms, it is performed by machinery that is typically mounted to the back of a tractor and dragged behind it such as disc plows, harrows and cultivators. The primary reasons that farmers till their fields in the fall include:
1. Burying Crop Residue Once the crops in a field have been harvested and the plants have died or are beginning to die back, tilling will bury the remaining plant residue in the soil. The decomposing residue acts as natural fertilizer by improving soil structure, increasing organic matter content, reducing moisture evaporation, and fixing carbon. Tilling is also used to mix synthetic fertilizers and other chemical inputs into the soil.
2. Weed and Insect Reduction Tilling efficiently reduces weeds that may be present in the fields by chopping them up and smothering them under the ground. Tilling is more efficient at killing weeds versus hand pulling and reduces the need for herbicide application and other chemical weed controls. In the case of heavy insect infestations, tillage can be used as a viable alternative to insecticides. Tilling will bury the insects and prevent or reduce their migration to nearby crops.
3. Loosening and Aerating Soil By fracturing and loosening clumps of soil, tilling levels the ground and prepares fields for planting allowing farmers to get a step ahead for the spring. Increased aeration reduces compaction and permits moisture and oxygen to permeate the soil, which helps next season’s seeds to germinate and allows their roots to reach critical nutrients.
On the flip side of things, tilling can have a number of negative impacts including the following:
1. Weakened Soil Structure By fracturing the soil, tilling breaks apart valuable soil structure, destroying aggregates (soil particles that bind together), microorganisms and fungal mycelial connections. This degrades soil health and, over time, leads to soil compaction for which repeated tilling tends to only be a short-term fix.
2. Soil Erosion Weakened soil becomes more vulnerable to wind and water erosion. Furthermore, tilling removes crop residue which helps protect soil particles from strong winds and cushions them from the force of pounding raindrops. Without the overlay of crop residue, exposed soil particles become easily dislodged and are more likely to be moved or splashed away.
3. Poor Water Infiltration Tilling breaks soil down and makes its particles finer. When these particles are hit by heavy rain, they clog the ground’s pores which seals the soil's surface and blocks water infiltration causing soil desiccation, surface water runoff and flooding.
4. Carbon Release This one’s a biggie in this era of accelerated climate change. Tilling creates large air pockets in the ground which fill up with oxygen, prompting microbes to turn carbon captured in the soil into CO2. When the field is next tilled and the soil is opened up, this CO2 is released into the atmosphere in sudden rushes or “burps”.
So, the question still remains, to till or not to till? Due to its negative environmental ramifications, many of Down to Earth Markets small farms have embraced a reduced or no-till approach, in addition to other regenerative farming techniques. The upshot is that tilling can have both beneficial and detrimental effects depending on a farm’s individual microclimate, growing conditions, soil type and the particular situation at hand. A judicious approach to tilling – with consideration for its wider environmental implications – is always a good way to proceed.

Durand Family - Round 6 (Week 70!!)
A rare gameplay post!
Even though Patty and Evan were divorced last round, they've been unhappily living together while Evan tries to find a new house. Patty is having the worst time of the two.
Fired from her new job as a youth pastor, she has to go back to full-time work at her shop.
Tumblr media
Therapy can only help so much...
Life for Evan, on the other hand, has only been getting better. He was offered a job at Tillage hospital...
Tumblr media
and (after failing the medical license test 3+ times) quickly pivoted into a new career as the town's optometrist, putting his science and medicine degree to better use.
Tumblr media
Soon after, the offer he'd put in to rent a flat outside the town centre was accepted. A £70 deposit is crazy...
Tumblr media
He also becomes the first sim to test out my newest mod (to be released soon) - meaning I can delete the ugly fence in his office keeping townies from using his computer.
Tumblr media
Also, your girl Imani gets a brand new hair cut and colour to honour her complicated feelings on the whole ordeal!

Two deaths of natural farmer Masanobu Fukuoka (Essay)
Tumblr media
Masanobu Fukuoka
Masanobu Fukuoka passed away. I knew him when I was in college. My specialty is "water," but when talking about environmental issues, I cannot avoid mentioning "soil." That's why I became interested in agriculture and went to help farmers in Ibaraki Prefecture. With that in mind, our goal was Masanobu Fukuoka and the natural farming method he created. He is well-known to naturalists all over the world.
He has a four-point vision of ``no-tillage, no fertilizers, no weeding, and no pesticides,'' I was well-received by his bold approach to developing his philosophy of nature.
@@@@@@@@
Is Masanobu Fukuoka's "natural farming method" really real?
In the preface of Mr. Fukuoka's ``One Straw Revolution,'' he describes it as a ``natural farming method'' of growing rice and wheat without fertilizers, pesticides, weeding, or tillage. Still, as you read through the book, you will realize that although it is supposed to be fertilizer-free, I have come across descriptions of spraying 200 to 400 kg of dried chicken manure per 10 acres. Isn't dried chicken manure a fertilizer?
*Chapter “Fun farming methods that anyone can do” (p.45~)* Written by Masanobu Fukuoka. “One Straw Revolution” Shunjusha. 1983.*
In any case, 200 to 400 kg of dried chicken manure is enormous.
I think if you spread that much, the outbreak of caterpillar disease and pests will be inevitable.
Also, before the harvest season, wouldn't the overgrowth cause the rice to fall over and become infected with insects? ・・・・・・
@@@@@@@@@@
The quote above is from a certain blogger.
Hmm. When I looked into ``Natural Farming: One Straw Revolution'' (Hakujyuusha) published by another publisher, I found that in this book as well, if you use ``dried chicken manure'' on page 53, it will come out properly. Now it would be a fraud to call it ``no fertilizer''.
Therefore, it can be said from his writings that Masanobu Fukuoka's farming method is "not fertilizer-free." (Pesticides are also used.) It has become clear that his natural farming methods cannot be taken at face value. For me, he died doubly.

Best Food Plot Implements vs. Traditional Tools: What You Need to Know
Did you know that agricultural yields can rise by as much as 25% when the proper equipment is used? Having the appropriate equipment can make all the difference when it comes to managing food plots.
So, what is the right equipment, and how does that help?
Well, the answer is Best Food Plot Implements; they help by maximizing soil preparation, seed placement, and fertilizer application efficiency. And all of these lead to healthier plants and greater yields—specialized food plot tools are made.
Here, we’ll examine the advantages of employing Best Food Plot Implements over traditional tools.
Tumblr media
Precision for Peak PerformanceGeneral equipment is frequently used in traditional farming. Consider simple tillers or disc harrows. Large farms can get by with these, but food plots require more. Precision is provided by the best food plot implements. They are generally engineered for varied, smaller plots where precision is essential. Think of a precision gardener.  Compared to a broadcast spreader, it is far superior.  It guarantees consistent seed spacing and depth.  Better germination results from this.  Additionally, you squander less seed.  Your wildlife will eat stronger, healthier forage directly from this focused strategy.
Efficiency that Saves Time and Sweat
Now, let’s discuss how to save both your time and your back. Conventional instruments? They’re slow and awkward, like attempting to paint a masterpiece with a broom.  The best food implements, like those from Plotmaster, are made to be as efficient as possible.
Consider their all-in-one systems, which combine fertilization, planting, and tilling in a single pass. That’s like pulling out three separate tools! There are fewer blisters, less gasoline, and you finish in half the time. These tools are also designed to tackle challenging tasks. Rocky soil? Thick weeds? No issue. These tools prepare your plot without you having to struggle with a rusty old plow, churning through it like a hot knife through butter.
Additionally, they may be adjusted for a variety of seed types, including brassicas, clover, and more, so you won’t have to spend your day adjusting settings.
Long-Term Gains for Your Plots The best part of investing in Best Food Plot Implements is that it’s not about today; It’s about the future.  With these tools, you can cultivate lush, wildlife-attracting plots for many years to come. They reduce the soil disturbance while maintaining the nutrients and structure necessary for healthy plants.
And, if your plot has healthy plants,  it will attract more deer, turkeys, and other wildlife. This is what you expect, right? Investing in these tools has multiple long-term benefits.
Final Words: Ok, let’s finish this up! Best Food Plot Implements are revolutionary, surpassing conventional instruments with accuracy, effectiveness, and long-term plot health. They draw more wildlife, increase crops and save time.   Check out the Plotmaster’s promotions at theplotmaster.com for excellent gear that delivers.
