Another Sixth Doctor story that often gets derided but I genuinely enjoy: "Timelash."
Now, it does not escape my notice that poor Peri gets kidnapped/otherwise threatened yet again by a deranged man who feels the need to conceal himself due to disfigurement and wants to force Peri to stay with him [insert "if I had a nickel" meme here]...
But we also have Herbert, and let me tell you I consider this story to be one of Six's most entertaining just on his and Herbert's dynamic alone. I mean, just one example of an exchange between them that leaves me cracking up laughing every single time:
Doctor: Listen, Herbert, if you want to do something useful while waiting to enter Valhalla, could you read off the numbers on that screen you see immediately in front of you?
Herbert: Of course! This one?
Doctor [puzzled by the question, returns to stand by Herbert]: ...How many screens do you see immediately in front of you?
Herbert: Just the one.
Doctor: That's the one.

I’m so mad Timelash is set after the Two Doctor’s because do you know much id kill for Peri offhandedly to be like The Lochness monster tried to marry me and he’s actually just some ugly mutant guy, and for Jamie to be like WTF??!?

Tears in my eyes as I admit that I really like Timelash and I would have given it a 9/10 if Peri wasn’t treated quite awfully for the second part of the episode (it’s a 7/10 but I consider this high since I’m not super into Classic tbh)

HEY JAE!
I've just found out about the Timelash convention and I also read you're going?
Thought about going cuz... german here, I'm prolly never gonna see any other DW convention (also Paul McGann and Louise Jamison??? Hell yes.).
What I wanted to ask though; Have you ever been there before? Is it fun / cool / good / any other positive adjective? :)
HEY!!
Yes, I will be going, I even already got my ticket cause I'm so excited!!
I went there last year, and while that was so far literally the only convention, DW or otherwise, I've ever been to, so I don't have any other points of reference, but I had an amazing time!
It's not super big, I'd guess there were like 200-250 people maximum last year, idk I'm bad at guessing, so it's not a huge thing but I LOVED that because it made everything feel much closer and you didn't have to worry about missing anything! They had two rooms last year, one for the panels and a smaller one for some workshops (like writing gallifreyan for example, I don't know what else, I wasn't in that one). The panels were a delight, and obviously that depends on the guests, last year for example McCoy was so funny the entire time and running through the audience his entire panel. They had a nice seller's room that had merch, art, CDs, other Sci-fi stuff and the like, you didn't have to wait long for autographs or photos at all, so the guests had time to have a little chat with everyone too.
Overall, I had a great time and would really recommend it, it was a wonderful weekend of doctor who for me last year! (Also would recommend this as a first con cause it was for me and it was small enough not to be overwhelming for me)
Also, truly, Paul McGann and Louise Jameson. I squealed when I saw those news!
Do feel free to ask me any more questions, I'll do my best to answer and also would love to meet up if you're going!

Trial of a Time Lord The Doctor is summoned before the High Council of Time Lords to stand trial for the charges of harmful interference to the course of events during his space-time excursions, which have threatened the sanctity of the universe. Indignant at these accusations, the Doctor pleads his case to the Inquisitor with the hope that she will see him as a source of hope and goodwill for existence. However, his prosecuting attorney, a sinister Time Lord known simply as the Valeyard, begins a crusade against the Doctor's life with the motive of painting him out to be a villainous renegade.
The Valeyard's first movement against the Doctor is to review his past interactions on a familiar planet called Ravolox, where he and his-then companion Peri Brown met the morally grey Sabalom Glitz and a tyrannical robot stalking the world's desolated landscape. However, Ravolox holds a terrible truth in the far reaches of its ruins, while the Doctor's trial has its own fair share of startling twists and turns…
As the trial of the Doctor continues, evidence is presented showing his most recent adventure - where he faces an old adversary, Sil. As a scientist conducts his unethical experiments to prolong the life of Sil's boss Kiv, the Doctor's memory of the events begins to return… and an unpleasant surprise awaits him.
In the hope of proving his innocence, Melanie Bush, an as-of-yet unmet companion from later in his life, is summoned to the court. Hopefully, through her help, the jurors will be reassured in letting the Doctor go free by seeing what good acts he stands to commit as opposed to destructive ones.
In his defence, the Doctor tells of an adventure from his personal future - set on board the Hyperion III space liner in his future. Answering a distress call, the Doctor and Mel arrive on the liner just as a series of grisly murders begins.
Charged with genocide by the treacherous Valeyard at his trial, the Doctor receives help from an unlikely source to turn the tide of the High Council's rulings in his favour and reveal the Valeyard as a wrongdoer - the Master. For the Valeyard's own crimes are so atrocious, even the Doctor's archenemy will help him to ensure that the villain won't see the light of day again. Cornered, the Valeyard flees to the Matrix, where he can be the Doctor's judge, jury and executioner…
The Power of the Doctor Famous paintings have been mysteriously defaced around Earth, seismologists have gone missing, there is strange activity occurring in volcanoes and across the stars a bullet train is pursued by CyberMasters. The Doctor doesn't understand how it all connects. All she has is a message from an old enemy - "this is the day you die"…
