Top: Nicholas’s father, no name yet. 1950 Cadillac hearse. Sleazy funeral director known to exploit his clients’ grief and upsell them on expensive products and services that they neither wanted nor needed. Sometime associate of the local crime family. A skilled salesman, but terrible with his money. Lived far beyond his means, and ended up in debt to some dangerous individuals. He and his son don’t get along, and that’s putting it lightly.
Bottom: Carolyn Timperly. 1964 Oldsmobile 98 hearse. She was the quiet kid of loud, argumentative parents who found refuge in novels and radio plays. Shy as a child, she grew into a confident adult and channeled her intelligence and compassionate nature into her advocacy work for elderly, historical vehicles as the director of Greenfield Park (basically part living history museum and part assisted living facility). A close friend of Vincent’s since college. She thinks of him as the brother she never had.
Bonus: Lester as a hearse. He is less than thrilled with his makeover.

“Runaway Mimico Boy Shoots One of Teachers,” Toronto Globe. June 16, 1919. Page 08. ---- Escapes From School With Two Other Lads and When Closely Pursued Shoots With Stolen Rifle ---- While attempting to round up three sixteen-year-old boys who broke away from Victoria Industrial School at Mimico Saturday evening. W. E. Pettinger, sports director at the institution, was shot through the body by one of the fugitives, and now lies in Grace Hospital, Toronto, in a serious condition. All the boys were finally captured after they had put up a stiff resistance, and were turned over to the county authorities. Early Saturday morning Cyrus Gallanger of Goderich made his escape from the barn. Later in the forenoon Ian Josh of Parry Sound and Alfred Timperly of Fort William, on the plea that they were not feeling well, were excused from work and permitted a rest in the shade. This proved to be but an excuse for a pre-arranged plan to run away. The boys hid in a large swampy wood within a mile of the school, after they had entered a house and it is alleged  by the owner, took away $100, a 22-calibre rifle with cartridges, a new suit of clothes and boots belonging to a returned soldier and numerous other articles. Officers of the school searched the woods during the afternoon, but failed to locate them. Shoots His Pursuer. With the assistance of some neighbours and boys of the school a watch was kept late into the night. The boys finally emerged from the wood and pursuit was made by some of the men. Gallanger carried the stolen rifle and finding himself closely pursued by Mr. Pettinger turned and shot him the bullet passing through his body. It is thought that the bullet pierced the lower right lung. Two other officers came up at the time, and after a struggle finally succeeded in disarming the boy but not before he had broken the butt of the weapon in a well-aimed blow at one of them. A returned soldier finally over-powered Gallanger. The two boys about sixteen years of age, were handed over to the county authorities, and are held by them on the charge of robbery and shooting. Timperly gave himself up before the shooting, and is back in the school. The wounded officer was attended by Dr. Serson of Mimico, and was removed to Grace Hospital, Toronto. Gallanger Feeble-Minded The distressing part of this tragedy is that it was committed by a lad who undoubtedly belongs to the class of feeble-minded, and who might not therefore, be held strictly responsible for his actions. He had been sent to the school for theft, and after about a year and a half was paroled to a farm home. During this period he showed no vicious tendencies with the exception of a propensity for stealing. After about three months with the farmer he was returned to the school on the complaint that he was dishonest ad a menace to the place. On one occasion he made a fire in one of the outhouses. He had been back to the school about three months when he made this break. The school at Mimico was never intended for such boys, but of late years their number at the school has increased.

Another gem for #90scarsweek by @carspotting_alex also from the Capesthorne Hall car park is this lovely Vauxhall Vectra, again, like the Integra, with its original Vantagd Vauxhall of Timperly dealer plates. Pretty sure this colour is Rio Green, and what a nice one it is and I bet there aren't many left in this colour. I've always thought that how the mirrors start just underneath the windscreen and continues into the mirror is a really neat feature on these Vectras. 1996 Vauxhall Vectra GLS 16v Auto Same Owner Since 2003 102,599 Miles Rio Green 🟩 🇬🇧 #vauxhall #vectra #opel #riogreen #90scars #vauxhallvectra #greencars #oldfont #nreg #cars #opelvectra #companycar #instacar #instacars #carporn #cargram #carsofinstagram (at Capesthorne Hall) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTSUNSqozdW/?utm_medium=tumblr

Safe and Practical Sinus Surgery
New Post has been published on http://sydneyentclinic.com/richard-harvey/2018/08/15/safe-and-practical-sinus-surgery/
Safe and Practical Sinus Surgery
So much has been said about safety in sinus surgery. There are terrible examples of operations that went wrong and either the brain or the eye were injured. But despite these events becoming less frequent over time, we still see reports of disastrous outcomes in recent years.
Complications in Sinus Surgery
Brain abscess post ESS
Cranial entry post ESS
There examples all had to be transferred to our care care for further treatment. Unfortunately, much of this is not related to the disease process or the imperfection of healing (such as having a nose bleed post surgery) but as a result of surgical disorientation. We initially learnt the variable anatomy of the sinuses and were fascinated by the newly described anatomy, surgical dissection was attempted based on these early descriptions. This anatomy however, is very variable between patients and many anatomical anomalies exist. With pathology present, disease events and prior procedures all further distort the surgical field.
Making Sinus Surgery Safe
(as well as complete and efficient)
A decade ago, we changed our teaching philosophy to sinus surgery to make it safer, avoiding complications, making it more complete and comprehensive (and even efficient). Much of this technique was based on the use of identifying the ORBITAL FLOOR as a landmark. The rule of Prof Dharambir Sethi and Prof Aldo Stamm was solidified in the literature through an early publication:
‘Stay below or at the level of the orbital floor as dissection proceeds posterior and one will avoid the skull base’
An early video from our first fellow in 2008, Dr Daniel Timperly, demonstrates this beautifully:
youtube
It was fantastic to see my colleagues from South East Asia take on some of these principles. Over the past ten years they have seen their complications drop significantly and in areas of the world where endoscopic sinonasal surgery is in its infancy they haven’t gone through the same painful learning curve of the western world during 1980/90s.
Prof Baha and colleagues have recently published a systematic review on the utility of the orbital floor as a landmark in sinus surgery. This is a fantastic event from a group surgical educators in their region.
Industry groups have also taken this onboard to help the next generation of surgeons learn sino-nasal surgery or ESS in a safer more effective way.
Although equipment such as image guidance assists surgeons and can even reduce complications in selected cases, it is not available to all and can never be relied upon in a critical situation.
Taking a different approach to learning in ESS can produce safe procedures with well healed cavities:
Good post-surgical cavity
Scarring post sinus surgery
Our group in Sydney continues to promote these safe and efficient techniques and as we prepare for our upcoming sinus course, it felt like a great time to acknowledge my colleagues who have taken these principles further and advanced our profession.

USKEES
I did some work for a denim and dungaree clothing line based in Timperly a while ago and they recently reached out to see if I could work on a rebrand for them. They’re still quite small and their visuals at the moment are quite bad so i jumped at the opportunity to help turn make this company look the best it could and compete with the big boys.
If I get this right this could be a great project for my portfolio as it will be a complete roll out from clothing to packaging and embroidery etc so could be a great job.

Trendiest hair colors Hairstyles and Haircuts of spring summer 2018
New Post has been published on http://www.newlasthairstyles.com/trendiest-hair-colors-hairstyles-and-haircuts-of-spring-summer-2018/
Trendiest hair colors Hairstyles and Haircuts of spring summer 2018
2018 will be year of hair by means of fashion.  Many celebrities are changing their hairstyles radically. Kim Kardashian farewells to her long blonde locks for the sake of brown shades. We welcome the mesmerizing rose gold hair trend and the perfect blend of balayage that will never fade away.
New year brings many new things and there’s going to be some serious hair flipping going on with these trending color, cut and hairstyle ideas. Whether you have beautiful long or stylishly short hair, get ready for the coming fashion trend.
The new Instagram-trend is gem roots that you should definitely see. You can have from matte to pastel shades of green and pink and silvery blonde ends, it will be definitely gorgeous. Here you can find hair color ideas 2018 as well as hair styles and cuts 2018.
1-Fruit Juice Haircolor
One more trend that hair colors for brunettes should try is the latest color style dubbed ‘fruit juice. Created by hair guru Alisha McAlister, she states: “I’m not sure what to call this! It’s a mix of blended fruit colors. I started this hair color thinking I was doing a simple base and tone. Then my amazing client surprised me! She said, “I want something different!” So yay for stylist choice night!”. We think it’ll be a big hit this summer.
2-Rose Brown Haircolor
Here is the difference! A pastel trend that brunettes can use surely. The rose gold trend and rose brown is gaining popularity on Instagram. Rather than having to dye your hair bright blonde to achieve the look, you can have this with darker hair colors. Coined by hairstylist Thi Thao Tu, it’s done by using a combination of bleach, Olaplex treatment, and brown and red dyes. This is really cool!
3-Oversized Braid Hairstyles
While we are at the end of spring and getting ready for the summer, and it’s fair to say that this season hair was kept simple on the catwalks – we’ve seen a lot of side partings, tousled waves and low ponytails. But at the Simone Rocha show oversized braids was at center stage, tied with a black velvet ribbon, the romantic style is perfect for the hot months. It is one of the 2018 trendy hairstyles.
4-Ghosted Haircolor
This mesmerizing style has nothing to do with the dating term, but rather what’s hiding in the shadows of the gorgeous hue. Why’s it different from platinum or silver? It’s the addition of carbon, quartz and oyster white which gives the specialty. Created by Jason Hogan of Josh Wood Atelier, it’s definitely going to be a hair trend of this year.
5-Statement Middle Parts Hairstyles
It can seem simple but changing your part can change your life. New hair trend is all about splitting it straight down the middle. The more dramatic, the better. Decide whether a middle part will suit you.
6-Straight Up Luxe Hairstyles
It is the hair trend flashback of 2001 when it was accepted that only way to wear your hair was super straight. You may need a new equipment to do the job? Here are 13 of the best hair straighteners to suit every budget.
7-Hairstyles With Ballerina buns
Ballerina buns turn back to hair fashion world! However, this time we’re keeping them smaller (RIP donuts), sweeter and slicked back. Add a braid to your lengths before twisting into a bun for a little something extra.
8-Wet-Look Waves Hairstyles
Consequently, a look that won’t be ruined in the rain! But it does take some talent to perfect – start by curling your hair in different directions, then run a generous amount of haircareoil through your lengths and finish with a soft wax for hold and shine. The wet look will make many red carpet hairstyle appearances in 2018.
9-Soft fringes and undone layers hairstyles
Is it just us or did all the Victoria’s Secret Angels immediately head to the hairdresser after Tokyo to have a fringe cut? We’re looking at many celebrities but we all know Vanessa Moody got there first.
10-Choppy punk fringes hairstyles
A little more edgy and a little less hair in your eyes. Both Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski have used this style and probably they will go on.
11-Glossiness equals greatness
Do you want your hair to be as blinding as your highlighter? Amal Clooney and Kate Middleton have been giving us glossy blow wave envy for years, and it will continue with no doubt.
12-But undone is equally fun
This is the hairstyle for lazy ones. Matte, textured, “I don’t give a shit” hair is the look we’ll all be spending 20 minutes trying to make it look like it took us only two to whip up. It is like a bed hair in a bun – simple!
13-Bringing back the bowl haircut
It is so simple that if Zendaya can do it, you can do it. A bowl cut can been adapted to suit any hair type and face shape. “It can be classy or edgy, it can be androgynous or ultra-feminine – it’s all about choice.” says Melissa Timperly, owner of Melissa Timperely Salon in Manchester. After shaving her head last year, Cara Delevingne will be one to be seen this year.
 14-Embellish a little short hairstyles
Try unique hairstyles! Add a little glitz and glamour to your ‘do with hair jewelry. Pop some bling in your braids, sparkly studs in your hair up do or simply slide in a headband for easy elegance.
15-Beach waves, always
Have your sea salt spray and curling tongs at the ready because beach wave hair is still in use. You don’t need to live by the sea to look like a bronzed beach goddess, just add some fake tan and you’re well enough to go.
16-Cool coppers
As everybody do, we know the adorable hair color is red hair, whether it’s bright and fiery or a muted strawberry blonde. And this year, Charlotte McKenna predicts we’ll all be adding a little warmth into our hair colour, “Most will abandon granny chic in favour of warmer pallets. 2018 hair fashion will see more and more copper tones, from brunettes and golden copper balayage to full on vivid coppers.”
17-Go for gold
The indispensable hair color in 2018 is goldie hair. Blondes in particular will be steering away from silvery platinum tones and going back to their golden roots. Keep it classy, not brassy by popping one of these toning shampoos in your shower.
18-Crimped and primped
It may be thought as crimped hair has been biding its time in the style sidelines, but we’re ready to welcome it back with open arms. Those with thin hair will find it particularly handy for creating volume and the illusion of thicker hair.
19-Touch me texture
Be ready for looking sexy and stylish. A little texture here, a little kink here and a freshly washed finish that’s hard to fake. Those who are lucky will be able to wash and wear, but for the rest of us: blow-dry straight, but leave your lengths slightly damp. Twist and pin into place while you finish getting ready, and then release just as you walk out the door.
20-Hairstyles for women 80s perm
Time for retro! Curls, curls, curls. Big like the hairstyles of 80s, but tighter tendrils and more frizz control thanks to today’s smoothing products.
21-New waves hairstyles
Hair Color Trends For Waves Hair
It is just the reasonable hairstyle solution. Not straight and not quite curly, but something in between. This new wave isn’t overly styled, but isn’t messy either. Kaia Gerber is leading the pack with this one.
22-Hairstyles for women 70s vibe
Be ready for the hippy style back in 2018! “70s hair is going to be a huge trend for this year. The loose, bouncy curls with dishevelled edges that made the decade so memorable, have now returned and are guaranteed to be seen everywhere.” says Andrew José.

Week 33 - Sorry Dad
"I'm the white Gucci Mane with a spray tan" - Riff Raff
Take a journey through my ill mind
When your companion says biking 7 miles a day is fun
As I mentioned last week, we are now a biking area and because of this, I have come to a conclusion that I very strongly dislike biking! Every square inch of me is sore, every lesson we teach starts by me apologizing about how sweaty I am, hills are the worst, riding in the windy rain is worst then hills BUT, you guys better believe it when I say that, it's all done with a smile on my face! This past week has stretched my ability to stay positive more then ever and it has been purely because of biking, however, it has helped me appreciate automobiles more then ever. My Father loves biking as well as my grandpa, Opa, but I can promise you that the genes are NOT hereditary. Sorry dad.
Drake would be proud of these views featuring our 22nd bike breakdown
Whenever I write in my journal, most often in the evening time, I enjoy flipping back the pages a month or two and read what happened on that day. I started doing this so that I could fully appreciate the days that I'm in and as many times as I've heard it before, i can confirm that a mission goes by really fast, therefore I try to cherish each day by remembering what happened the month prior. I am able to slightly relive some of those glorious moments and more importantly, chuckle at the difficult ones. Looking back at what has made me struggle on my mission is a weird thing to do because even though I can laugh at them, the problems can still come back and effect me but I am so fortunate to say that I have changed so much and grown so much stronger since I have come out. Best decision ever.
Football between General Conference sessions (Mama Jen always taught me to take off my socks when playing on the grass; Listen to your mother)
General Conference was really good. Unfortunately I haven't been able to see all of the sessions yet because of the time difference as well as transportation not being available to get to where it was shown so I will fully update you on it when I get the chance to finish it, however, I did get to here the Prophet, Thomas S Monson, speak and I can testify with all of my heart that he is a Prophet that has been CALLED FROM GOD! Guys do you even realise how special that actually is!? We have someone on earth that can communicate to our Heavenly Father directly! That's SOOOO cool! I have never really stopped and thought about it but there is no way that this is not the true church on earth simply because we have a Prophet to lead us and direct us through this journey of life. Love it.
My man, Elder Timperly, eating a pepper as a snack during General Conference.
Thank you all so much for reading my adventures! Keep it real! Remember, Spread: Peace, Love & Positivity.
I truly love the jaw dropping views that I get to see on a daily basis and that people take for granted every single day. The earth is so beautiful, it amazes me.
Why couldn't the toilet paper cross the street? (Email me for the answer)
Love ya
