So I am trying to get into Unturned modding again. Sorry about that My mind does not know how to stay still. I have gotten to the animation phrase of making the mod, but using the default models is a bit of a pain I went and found a lovely model known as AUPR22. Messed around a bit and made something I am willing to change later and slap on, 'placeholder.' Did the whole unity painful thing and did this

So if you are planning to make an unturned mod, go ahead and use this cheat sheet for importing your own custom models. Lastly I imported the .unity3d file thanks to Exclude_From_Master_Bundle and test it out thanks to /reload itemGUID.

This is the result that came back and it is a bit funny. But that is mod development for ya. Hope some of you are having a good day and remember that any item id is on a unassigned 16 bit interger. So don't set your items above 65535

im in a current search for academic law papers about batman's concept of justice (and his application of it) so i can be even more pretentious about comic books (and familiarize myself w legal terminology in general). and one issue that was already obvious but's now become 100% clear is that. whatever ethical critique you are going to do depends a lot on the comics you pick up as a source. it's not the same to do an analysis of year one-long halloween-dark victory than it is to do one of utrh, for example. the most blatant classification that could be made is batman as a newcomer (no legitimacy) vs. batman as a established vigilante (gained a certain level of legitimacy, if not full—depends on reactions by the authorities)

but doing a critique of his ideology based solely on legitimacy falls flat.....you'd have to analyze the flaws in his vision of crime, violence as a means to an end, punitive vs transformative vs rehabilitating vs restorative vs retributive vs whateverthefuck justice, etc. both when the story gives him full legitimacy and when it doesn't. judge it as a project too before it becomes "law" in application

and you also need to question from what framework are you to analyze bruce? as an individual? or as a possible equivalent to the State? because his status as the title and central character to gotham gives him a sovereignty of sorts that a personal analysis would not give him. i suppose it's a watsonian (individual) vs doylist (state-like) point of difference. but also....i may be tempted to equate him to the state just for ease of analysis since that's the theory im more familiarized with. and should that distinction even make a difference in the critique ? not really

it really just comes down to who's writing him and what the current continuity is. as it happens w every other analysis.

all in all i think what this has made me realize is that i have a far higher dislike for bruce's take on justice if i view him as a legitimate force in gotham, than if i view him as an illegal vigilante. which definitely has to do with my distaste for the state. but i should be able to criticize him as a personal ideology as well, bc i can't have such a blind spot in my political critique

now that the nt99 thread is getting kind of beefy, another somewhat hidden quality of life thing: if your comp/phone/whatever is struggling to load everything, you can scroll up to the top of the page and hit the button here that says "last 50 posts." it will truncate the thread to, as promised, the 50 newest posts! usually that's enough to backread the most recent update (sometimes the last 2 updates if you do last 100 posts instead, but it depends how many suggestions there were). this makes it much easier for "expand all images" to load and saves you a lot of scrolling when you're already caught up and just want to read the most recent bit

if you're backreading and want to skim past reader suggestions (which i don't always recommend bc the suggestions ARE part of the story! but like, when ur just trying to refresh on the content of updates themselves, etc), all updates have my author tag, FRACTAL, so ctrl+F-ing "FRACTAL" and hopping around that way is a neat trick too

oughhh haha god i also really struggle with hats, (that’s why my q design is always missing one,) so i don’t have a ton of advice i can give but. these are the Few little tips i think i’m confident sharing! hopefully we can both keep improving at this, haha :,]

oh also, re: the art style thing— i think the most telling anecdote i have is how much my art style shifted after 2021. because y’know what changed after 2021? i started taking a shit ton of comics classes, and i just needed to draw faster and more consistently to keep up with my homework. so my style changed, not on purpose, but just because i had to figure out what i could do quickly and consistently but still liked the look of!

process changes everything. i’ve moved away from comics this year, so i’ve been practicing different processes, and who knows, my art style might start to shift a little again. but that is my silly wisdom :] just do whatever you gotta do
