The alpine glacier lakes of central Tasmania are the haven for many tiny but rare aquatic plant species. In this short video, you can see three Drosera species, two Isoetes species, one Trithuria species, one Utricularia species and one Centrolepis species, and they can be found growing next to two each other in an area of one or two square meters. Simply amazing!

Even in a wild mix of Neocaridina davidi shrimp an occasional nice one can appear. Here they are on cleaning duty of plants that I neglected a bit; that blob of algae is supposed to be four Trithuria lanterna.
