In case you missed it, a criminal was appointed as the Communications Director for Ohio's Sixth District congressman in January 2025.
After a series of train derailments in 2023 caused by unsafe railway maintenance at Norfolk Southern, Mike Peppel started a charity to provide safe drinking water to the community. However, no one received safe drinking water from Mike Peppel's charity because Peppel kept the money he raised in his own pocket.
Peppel settled a lawsuit for his scam. But, recently, there were lawsuits against Norfolk Southern. The suits claimed that the train derailments caused massive chemical destruction and health issues for residents of Ohio. These lawsuits have been dismissed, and to this day, there have been no actions taken by Northfolk Southern to improve railway safety.
But that's not all! A decade prior, in 2013, Peppel was sentenced to 2 years in prison for money laundering and fraud. He's been a known fraudster and criminal for over a decade, and now he has a new job in Congress.
Soooo, what fraud is Elon Musk investigating again?

Quilt for the 23/54 project. 23 of the squares represent the families who signed a lawsuit against the Pulaski County School Board in 1947 for better educational opportunities for 54 Black children.
Jacob Robinson grew up in Galax, and his grandmother traveled by bus to attend the Wytheville Training School, one of a handful of Black schools across Southwest Virginia. “There was a huge emphasis on the institution of education for Black community members here,” Robinson said. Schools like the Wytheville Training School and the Calfee Training School in Pulaski were built in the 1800s and stayed open until schools integrated. “A lot of folks don’t know, but Black folks in this region were highly educated during that time, especially in relation to other parts of Virginia,” Robinson said. Robinson is a researcher at Virginia Tech and is part of a team called Monuments Across Appalachian Virginia. They’re collaborating with nine community groups to reclaim untold and overlooked history. One of those groups is the Calfee Community and Cultural Center, the organization that now calls the former Calfee Training Center home.
Robinson said, once Pulaski County integrated in 1967, many of the Black teachers who had taught at Calfee left (because they weren’t offered equal opportunities at the integrated school). One who stayed was Dorothy DeBerry Venable, a Black coal miner’s daughter, who taught for 46 years. “In order to reach the students, you’ve got to get down to their level. I loved every minute of it,” Venable said in an oral history interview the Calfee Center is working on. “We had fun.” Before integration, Venable taught second grade at Calfee for fifteen years. When she discovered her students were learning from older textbooks than what students at the white school had, she complained to the school board. “Later on that day, this van from the school board office pulled up in front of the school,” Venable said. “And guess who got new books? Me. I had been taught by my father that if something’s not right, you complain.”
During the ceremony, Calfee Center’s executive director, Jill Williams, said heroes like Venable, are important to celebrate. “Without those stories, stories that are relatable, and rooted in community, how do we inspire the next generation of leaders? How do we build a better future?” Williams said. “We are living in a time when there is real pressure to whitewash our nation’s history. Especially the painful parts about slavery, segregation and oppression,” Williams said. “And while I understand the impulse to shield children from pain, the danger is this: when we don’t teach the hard history, we also don’t get to teach about the everyday heroes who resisted.”

TAKES DEEP BREATH#ENTER jess and haley two normal u.s. teenagers no good families in a crumbling education system whose teacher is managing to hold on to#life by his teeth by paying his students for blood because blood banks are now all in hands of oligarchal immortal families and hes been#banned#getting infected generally means death only those families have the medical resources to make it go right#DEEP BREATH.#anyway#personal#and more - jess and haley become blood workers - sell blood for money. very dangerous catering to either criminals or elites or desperates#jess does get infected haley nealy kills herself getting the money to pump her full of drugs so she might survive. jess nearly kills haley a

oats i wanted to tell you that i am getting on a train. please share anything you wish about trains with me i love it when people infodump <3
OMG ITS HAPPENING
Anyway so, i live in the us where trains are only used as cargo transportation and the occasional tourist attraction, which is crazy? B/c that makes us one of the only "first world" countries that dont have a nation wide public trasit system (beside planes?), a travesty in my personal opinion, b/c all of that land? And no bullet trains? And in a car it can take (no rest stops or staying in hotels) about 6ish days to travel from the east coast to the west coast. Do you know how long that would be with the average public train speed(50-60 mph/80-97kph)(no stops)???? A little less than 2 days... and we dont have trains? For some reason?(big auto, fuck big auto). It would make the country so fucking acessable to everyone in it and visiting. It would make visitng relatives across states so much easier, it would aliveiate trafic jams in big cities (a little bit). And like the average american has been to around 18 states (i cant remember the exact nuber) and somewhere around 10ish% have never left their home state. And i think about 2% have been to half of the states (which i am very lucky to be apart of) and this isn't even talking about the amount of americans who havent even left the country (me lol) having an actual public rail system would help so many people and create so many opertunities
All in all trains are great and awesome the us should have them especially with how ridiculously big it is, all i want for my 20th birthday is for the us to get public rail :(
Please enjoy your train ride for me!!!
(Update, my life is changed forever, the us has trains? i just didnt know about. Please check out @illegal-prime 's reblog of this post here!)

Asking out of curiosity in case anyone who follows me knows more: in the past couple of months I’ve seen two pieces of news (one about Morocco and recently about Saudi Arabia) saying that a person or multiple people was arrested or sentenced for criticizing Israel in those countries with a bunch of people in the comments saying that it’s propaganda and they live there and and criticize Israel all the time without consequences which seems like a strange argument to make since I don’t think that necessarily precludes the possibility that more prominent activists or public figures could be targeted in a way that the average person is not. But I also don’t know much about the local context of either of those countries or whether there’s legitimate reason to be suspicious of those headlines
