Any dream castings if you were in charge of a hypothetical Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn / Path of Radiance dub? Characters you'd really like to see certain people read for?
Most of the cast has official voices already because they're in Heroes.
I shall be Valtome.

Who is your favorite Tellius villain, either minor or major? :3
Ooooh, good question! And a rather difficult one to answer.
Tellius has such a wide array of fun, colorful, and sometimes terrifying villains to choose from. I like a lot of them, but for vastly different reasons, so it’s difficult to compare them.
So I’m just gonna pick my top 3, in no particular order.
The first villain that comes to mind is Jerod. Part 1 of Radiant Dawn has always been my least fav part of the Tellius series, but I do appreciate Jerod. He’s just… so unapologetic about all the evil stuff he’s doing. And not in a cartoonishly evil villain way. You can see how Jarod came to his position. He loves control and inflicting pain on others.
And yet, he comes across as so calm and sensible. When his crimes come to light, he’s so nonchalant about it? Like, “damn, look’s like it’s over for me”, but then decides that instead of surrendering and submitting to the consequences of his actions, he’d rather die, if it means he can kill more Daein soldiers.
Next is Sephiran. Not sure to what extent he qualifies as a villain. He’s such a tragic character. He was given an impossible task, and suffered so much pain and loss.
I just… there’s part of me that really, really sympathizes with him. He’s seen the worse of all of history, and because he feels so deeply, of course he wanted to do everything in his power to help others, to steer the world away from war, to rid Tellius of slavery, prejudice, and corruption. All of his efforts fail, and yet he keeps trying. And he continued to try, again and again, for 6 hundred years.
That’s a long time. That’s like, an unfathomably long amount of time.
I feel like most people would have given up before the hundredth year. With all he’s seen, all the cruel atrocities committed by both laguz and beorc, how can we blame him for saying “hey, actually, Ashera might be right, this place sucks, let’s let her burn it all down and start over?”
Aaaand last but not least, there’s Izuka. It’s always so satisfying to kill that man. Unlike Jarod, he IS cartoonishly evil, almost to the point where it’s difficult to take him seriously. And yet, when you think about all the stuff he’s done, it’s terrifying! That Gritnea Tower chapter is something straight out of a horror movie!!
(I’m also a little sad they removed his character of quirk of saying “Wheeeeeee!” at inappropriate times in RD. But maybe living in the tower was making him extra loopy?)
Other honorable mentions: Petrine for being a hot mess, Valtome for being a flamboyantly problematic queen, Zelgius for his devotion to his absolutely whack and somewhat contradictory morals, and Havetti for having the best pirate name I’ve ever heard.
Thanks for the ask!

hey so what is the ship name for both danny val and phantom val since I ship same person with same person and dont wanna write multiple ship names but also dont want to potentially confuse someone into thinking I’m excluding the other
like how does this work for any of the Danny ships vs Phantom ships cuz to me most the time theyre the same and I wanna write one name
Vanyl is as good as I got for Danny and Val atm but like if its all about not excluding his other identity and we have a precedent I feel like it should be combining both their hero names and civvie names? And following the fandom’s naming schemes…
Redny Valtom? like I’m struggling here yall I need a shorthand I dont always have a lot of space lol

Lucia plays Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn: Part 3 Chapter 9
Wha- we're going back to Crimea with the perspective?? I somehow thought that this part would be entirely between just Greil's Mercenaries and the Dawn Brigade. That means. . . oof, the characters I got here definitely aren't my A team. Or the B team, for that matter. But to be fair, Elincia and the others would have to enter this whole thing sooner or later.
Well then, base conversations. For the first one, it's actually interesting to see one of these where it's just villagers talking about what's going on in the world. These aren't outstanding personalities in any way, but of course they'd have their own thoughts about everything.
The one with all the playable characters - Makalov things again. Yaaay. . . but for as much of an ass as he is, Marcia's just amazing. She really comes up with a whole brand-new insult every time she talk with him! . . .And I'm really starting to believe that Stella got hit on the head somehow in between games. She really felt a lot more. . . there in the brief appearance she had last game since I didn't really use her.
Elincia and Lucia - . . .well, these are short ones. But a Master Crown and some cash, that's actually pretty helpful.
I ended up promoting Calill since my friend pointed out to me that I probably won't be using her once I finally have access to all the playable characters in part four, and that I could use the additional firepower now. Which - fantastic point, though I guess that should go without saying, as I did do it.
I also dumped enough bonus exp into Geoffrey to promote him, and gave some levels to Marcia and Kevin as well. Since I'm playing on the lowest (localized) difficulty I'm not expecting too much trouble overall, but it still won't hurt to be prepared.
During the actual map, Danved actually put in a lot more work than I expected him too - he landed a whole bunch of crits I didn't think he would, and was generally very useful. Makalov meanwhile took a break.
There was a Spirit Dust hidden right behind the boss, meaning that only Marcia could get it - and man did she take forever to find it! She kept fighting that boss for several rounds, to the point that he ended up using his healing item. She did finally get it once I was really starting to wonder whether she would get it at all, though.
. . .Oh god please don't send Lucia to negotiate with the enemies. Sending her on that sort of mission did not go well last time.
Ah, but it does now. Good. When's she gonna be playable again, anyway? I get that she's staying close to Elincia's side at all times (👀), but still.
Valtome continues to be ver' sympathetic. Threatening to have Elincia executed. . . now that's efficient politics that definitely won't backfire.
At least Zelgius is being reasonable, even if his hands are tied. I really am starting to wonder though what exactly his deal is, since there's the whole reveal with him still coming up. . .

I think Valtome is a reference to a shonen anime character whom was definitely gay coded if you want to hear?
Might as well send this whilst I have energy, but here's the character, Valtome may be a reference to. There was a very popular shonen manga called Hokuto No Ken, which multiple video games, including TLOZ, like to draw inspiration from. It involved a bunch of super gay macho men fighting eachother and alot of bromance. hokuto.fandom.com/wiki/Yuda Anyhow the character above was a very vain martial artist whom prided himself on the beauty of his fighting style. As you can see, Yuda had a sharp nose and alot of makeup looking very similar to Valtome outside of being jacked. Allegedly he was based on Boy George. And like Valtome, Yuda was notably queer-coded, despite capturing women for his collection of beautiful things, he treated more like dolls and seemed to have no interest in them physically. Instead Yuda's backstory involved him going crazy after seeing the martial arts of one of the main characters, the bishonen Rei, was more beautiful than his own. Fitting in with the shonen themes, despite his terrible crimes, Yuda still got a sympathetic death scene where he was forgiven by the heroes. In this case, Yuda gave a last request that Rei let him die in his arms & admitting that he was always the more beautiful one, which is why Yuda could never touch his harem, including Rei's girlfriend. It was very homoerotic, even if it didn't quite confirm Yuda was gay, its enough for me to say he's questionable rep. Spinoff material have also run off with Yuda is in love with Rei full, at least one referring to Yuda as an okama. Anyhow there's a bunch of Yuda references in various Japanese media, I'm sure Valtome is one of them.
Interesting. Like I said back in the trans video, I have little interest in Japanese media outside of a handful of video game IPs, so I tend not to be aware of this stuff.

And the rest of Part Four.
Chapter 3 is such a slog. *Anakin Skywalker voice* I Don't Like Sand
On the other hand, the units that could move did great. Tanith and Sigrun are both level 8, Sanaki is level 10, and Micaiah capped at 20 (though Paragon gave her a big boost there).
Speaking of movement issues, I'm kind of shocked that Stefan has such bad desert movement. He lives there!
The chapter does make up a bit for how awful the gameplay is by having the closest thing to a plot in the non-Rebirth section of Part Four.
Still frustrated at how much Micaiah is pushed out of the plot in Yune's favor. Sure, Sanaki's conversation with Yune is interesting, but so was her conversation with Micaiah that Yune's appearance interrupted. (And particularly Sanaki envying Micaiah's emotion-reading powers because of how useful they would be for politics--I'm sure Sephiran takes full advantage of that.)
And then in the next conversation Naesala compares her powers to the herons. It's all coming together...
I am obsessed with Micaiah and the Black Knight's relationship. Both from the borderline chivalric romance angle, but also because I am constantly thinking about Zelgius's double life and how lonely being the Black Knight must have been.
(Also speaking of Zelgius's double life, Sigrun calling him Beignon's most brilliant general 🥺)
The Black Knight telling Micaiah that his master is waiting at the Tower of Guidance...this really is the chapter for putting the pieces together.
And it's fascinating that he's been sent to take Micaiah, and Micaiah alone, back to the Tower. Poor Sanaki.
Loved Sothe's conversation with the Black Knight also. The last ones standing at the end of the world, indeed.
And Tanith & Sigrun telling Sanaki that it doesn't matter to them that she's never heard the goddess's voice because they're loyal to her personally rather than the abstract concept of the Apostle <3 This is a really good chapter for the Beignon family feelings.
I thought Ch 4 would be the easiest of the back half, and I have suffered for my hubris. Twenty-three turns, and I'm pretty sure that at some point in the high teens there were more enemy units on the map than there were at the start.
Fantastic for level-grinding though (Titania and Soren both doubled their levels), even if I broke the Hammerne staff trying to make sure everyone still had usable weapons.
Also a really, really rough chapter to do without either Physic or Restore. (I could have fully restarted and bought a Restore, but I was too deep in the sunk cost fallacy by that point.)
Lovely to see Tormod and the gang again.
The Senate faking Oliver's execution and letting him continue to live in his villa in secrecy with no consequences makes total sense. What I can't stand about this chapter is that he's recruitable. Even if he's mostly treated as a joke character, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
(Though I realize this makes me a hypocrite for having no problem with Lehran being recruitable even though objectively his crimes are much worse.)
All this to say, the last time I had to reset this chapter wasn't because someone died, it was because I accidentally recruited Oliver. I assumed you had to actually go talk to him, not that he'd hop up and run over to Rafiel of his own volition. Normally I'm a completionist about recruitable units, but not this time.
And then there's Hetzel as a foil to Oliver. On the one hand, it's nice to see a senator with something more complicated going on than the cartoonish evil that Lekain and Valtome and Oliver demonstrate. On the other, his crisis of conscience doesn't mean much if he still won't stand up to Lekain about anything. I appreciate that he's a more nuanced character, but I still don't particularly like him.
Chapter 5 took four (4) turns??? I thought that was going to take hours. But Izuka inexplicably didn't warp away after I parked Tibarn right next to him, so it was over very quickly. (And Tibarn grew almost three levels in one turn; I was sitting there scrolling on my phone waiting for people to be done attacking him).
Unfortunate for the people who needed to level-grind, though, but at least Geoffrey changed class (thank you, Paragon).
And I'm still trying to decide whether to take Lucia and/or Astrid to the endgame, so this was not helpful at all in that regard.
On the subject of Elincia being terrifyingly good, she did 10 damage with a Mend staff? I've literally never seen that before.
I'd forgotten just how annoying Bastian is. Also, I understand why he didn't want to give Elincia false hope, but he was keeping her uncle secluded on his estate for three years without mentioning it?
Volke giving Bastian a steep discount because he hates Izuka that much was hilarious.
Poor Renning :/
I have a lot of questions about where Izuka was keeping that many Feral Ones.
Once again, Part Four feels less like it has an actual plot than that it's a bunch of random encounters and tying up loose ends. And on the one hand, it's kind of fitting that Ashera's emergence and the sudden shift in scale to a truly existential threat breaks the structure of the game a bit. On the other, I liked Part Three (and Two, for that matter) better.
Oh well, onwards to the Tower of Guidance.

☆ one: Begnion year 640.
In the dead of night, a child peeks her head into the ballroom. The space is dusty with disuse, as it has been for all the times the child has visited it in her adventures; but tonight, strangely enough, there’s a dozen maids frantically sweeping the floor by the light of the full moon.
The child’s curious footsteps echo through the hall, and one of the maids looks up, startled. “Who—oh?” the maid’s tone softens in confusion. “Are you lost, child? What are you doing here at this hour?”
The child bites her lip, fingers worrying at the hem of her plain nightgown. “...Had a bad dream,” she admits, reluctantly. “But what about you? I’ve, um, never seen this place cleaned before.” Her amber eyes, almost beady with sudden interest, scan the room. The cobwebs in the corners of the balustrades, the layer of dust over the stained glass, the tarnish upon the brass chandeliers—
—all of it speaks of Begnion. Once grand, now weary.
The maid chuckles. “You don’t know? There’s going to be a ball for the apostle’s coronation! First dance we’ve had in many years.” Excitement colours the woman’s face, as she resumes sweeping with renewed vigor. “If you be a good girl and go back to bed,” she teases, “maybe your Mama will even let you tag along!”
Instead of the delighted reaction the maid had anticipated, the child’s face slowly crumples. She is making a valiant effort to hide the wobble of her lips, but she is still too young to have mastered that lie. The maid, taken aback, scrambles for something to console her, but then a cacophony of shouting filters into the entryway—
“The apostle’s gone! Disappeared from her room!”
“Tonight of all nights—where could she be??”
“Search the grounds! Every nook and cranny!”
—and the child is already sprinting out of the hall, scrubbing at her eyes. Everything is different now. The next time she steps foot into that ballroom, it will no longer be a place of refuge—from nightmares, or the pains of real life.
☆ two: Begnion year 644
The apostle is no commander, but a banquet is its own kind of battlefield. She shoves the last of the sweet bun in her mouth, wipes her sugary fingers on a napkin, and leisurely steps towards her target. “I hope I’m not interrupting,” she offers serenely, stepping directly in front of a man deep in conversation with Valtome. “But my feet have grown restless. Oblige me with a dance, won’t you?”
The man, of course, cannot refuse, and stumbles confusedly after her onto the varnished floor. If Lekain mutters a veiled insult about her “whimsical nature”, she does not rise to the bait. If Sephiran sends her a concerned gaze, she does not meet it—no, she’s sorry, but she needs him to keep Oliver distracted for at least another quarter hour!
As expected, the orchestra starts a lively bourrée, and then she’s off, in her element.
The man is not an incompetent dancer, but he’s certainly not used to being led by a lady less than half his height. Oh, he’s the head of the largest merchant’s guild in Culbert? She’s glad to hear that the duchy is flourishing. His son is rising quickly through the ranks of the Dracoknight Guard? Well, stewarding the Crimean border is an essential task. The forests near his base have suffered less sub-human attacks recently? How fortuitous. Wherever could the Gallians be hiding?
…She doesn’t have to put up with too much of this drivel. The apostle spins them around, stepping just an inch too wide—and before the man knows it, both of them are crashing painfully to the floor, limbs ungraceful and tangled. Gasps ring out, and an indignant murmur travels throughout the room. The guards are upon the man in an instant.
The apostle clambers back to her feet, dusting off her robes as the man is escorted away. After bodily shoving the apostle to the floor at such a public event, she’d be surprised if he ever makes a return to high society. That’s one more concern dealt with, then.
Nearby, Hetzel sighs, sounding almost amused by her antics. The apostle, on her part, merely feels a sliver of satisfaction, ephemeral and vacuous as snowfall in Sienne. So what if another fool will replace this one at the next ball, the evil plots of mankind cresting wave after wave? This is her war. This will be her war, for as long as the Goddess sees fit.
…the Goddess, though, has other plans.
☆ three: Begnion year 648
The celebration is set to continue until sunrise. An old battlefield custom, from the ages of Altina, dawn’s trueblade—as a prayer of thanks for another day of survival, another assurance of the sun’s rays alighting upon the hero’s twin swords. Tonight, though, the Goddess sleeps, and Altina’s favoured weapons, too, rest in the armory. Despite this, the empress had still called for a celebration. It has been far too long since anyone could simply drink, be merry, and hope for peace.
One might expect to find the empress at the center of the revelry, exalted by her people, enjoying a last joyous moment with her wartime allies before they all head their separate ways. Instead, she’s perched on a bench in the gazebo, in an animated discussion with a man with wings so black they almost blend into the hedges.
“You can outfly him,” she stresses, gesturing wildly. “It’ll be fine!”
The raven crosses his arms, exasperated. “Outfly him to where, little Empress? I may be fast, but the hawk king’s endurance is second to none, you know.”
“Have you considered trying harder?” she taunts, cracking a grin, which lasts only a moment before it fades in commiseration. “…I can still grant you sanctuary, if you’re worried.”
“Like that’d solve all my problems,” the raven scoffs, drily. “Thanks, but no thanks. I don’t need your charity.”
“Charity?” she echoes, incredulous. “We were the ones who forced you into this whole mess! And you…” her shoulders hunch as she averts her gaze, “You lent me your power without reserve, when I had none. This is the least I could do.”
A pause. “Empress,” he starts. “Don’t tell me you want me to stroke your ego?”
She huffs out a quiet laugh, but otherwise stays silent. She can’t bring herself to meet his eyes.
“You can get anyone in that hall—soldiers, mercenaries, royalty—to heed your will, and you don’t even need a blood pact like those nasty little senators did. That kind of loyalty, and you call yourself powerless.”
The empress shakes her head. It’s not that she doesn’t understand him; she had her knights, and her army, and her citizens, and even the mercenaries. Where she points them, they go. She can tell them to retreat, to charge forward, to lay down their life and they would obey. But hadn't she led them down the wrong path? All her cleverness, and it hadn’t been enough to save them from flames or from stone in the end.
She slumps further. “I don’t deserve it,” she says, quietly, “Loyalty like theirs.”
The corner of the raven’s mouth twitches. “Of course not.”
“Still,” she closes her eyes, imagining where she would be without Sigrun, or Tanith, or the man beside her, or... She pauses, exhales softly. “I am grateful. Even if I have little to offer in return.”
“If you’re so grateful, Empress,” he drawls, “what are you doing, hiding out here?”
She opens her eyes. Yes. If she could lead her people in conflict, poorly as she did, couldn’t she also tell them to be at peace?
….She hates it when he’s right, even more so when he knows he’s right. As retribution, she stands suddenly, grabs the raven by the arm, and drags him squawking onto the path back to the hall. If he had any real protest, she wouldn’t have been able to move him at all, and so, with a feeling akin to taking flight, she begins to run.
She loses the raven somewhere in the third hour, but she doesn’t mind. She clasps so many pairs of hands, beseeching—laughs along with the music, smiles at her people, tells them she’s thankful. She lets her sincerity show, if only for one night. This might be one of her happiest moments, she realizes, and she thinks—maybe this is something she can do, one of the few things she was born to do. To cradle the hope of a nation in her hands, breathe life into it, spin it about herself like a wreath, like a shroud.
When the sun rises, she will be Empress again, placid and cold upon her lofty throne. But for tonight, she is only a dancer.
☆ coda: Begnion year 612 / Fodlan imperial year 11XX
In the dead of night, Sanaki peeks her head back into the reception hall. Unlike earlier in the day, during the lessons, it is deserted now. Who would have thought that Fodlan had battlefield dance magic? It's not quite so holy as Vigor, merely a crude facsimile.
The thought makes Sanaki more than a little uneasy. She stands at the center of the hall and closes her eyes, envisioning a battlefield, one she knows well. Oribes Bridge, or Castle Nox, or Grann—she sets the soldiers in place, gets into position. The stance is not quite comfortable, still a little different from the court dances she was taught.
She spins, dips low, gestures at a fallen knight, beckoning them to retreat. The steps take her to another soldier, exhausted in pursuit, and with a swish of her hair, she compels them to keep charging onward. It’s then that Sanaki understands that her worries were unfounded; this power is, at its core, one she already knows. An old, treasured gift. Not by birthright, but freely given.
Sanaki dances on. The hall is silent with the absence of song.

The Tellius bracket qualifier! Starts December 29th at 3pm EST
Here's how it's going to work:
There are going to be 14 qualifying polls (ten for the men, four for the women)
Pick your most bangable favorite from each poll
Polls will run for one week (I'd prefer 3 days but alas Tumblr doesn't offer the option yet)
The top 64 male characters and the top 32 female characters will qualify for the men's and women's bracket (there's actually only 32 women total this time so no one is getting cut, the qualifier is more to decide the bracket match-ups)
Polls:
Qualifier 1 (Ike, Oscar, Boyd, Rhys, Shinon, Gatrie, Isaiya, Zaitan, Burton, Wystan, Laverton, Djur)
Qualifier 2 (Soren, Mordecai, Volke, Kieran, Brom, Zihark, Levail, Alder, Duke Seliora, Lombroso, Septimus, Pugo)
Qualifier 3 (Makalov, Muarim, Stefan, Devdan, Reyson, Janaff, Pelleas, Jarod, Ludveck, Valtome, Numida)
Qualifier 4 (Ulki, Tauroneo, Ranulf, Haar, Bastian, Geoffrey, Danomill, Mackoya, Seeker, Norris, Gashilama, Kimaarsi)
Qualifier 5 (Largo, Nasir, Tibarn, Naesala, Giffca, Oliver, Dakova, Emil, Balmer, Kamura, Kotaff, Nedata)
Qualifier 6 (Shiharam, Bryce, Ashnard, Greil, Caineghis, Dheginsea, Izuka, Zawana, Ikanau, Havetti, Maijin)
Qualifier 7 (Sephiran, Lekain, Hetzel, Nealuchi, Muston, Jorge, Kayachey, Homasa, Kasatai, Schaeffer, Tomenami, Rikard)
Qualifier 8 (Daniel, Gareth, Lotz, Zelgius, Rajaion, Renning, Gromell, Hafedd, Heddwyn, Nolan, Aran, Volug)
Qualifier 9 (Rafiel, Danved, Skrimir, Radmin, Zeffren, Yeardley, Maraj, Tashoria, Silvano, Rommit, Istvan, Veyona)
Qualifier 10 (Sothe, Edward, Leonardo, Kurthnaga, Tormod, Yuma, Callum, Kezhda, Roark, Sergei, Goran)
Qualifier 11 (Micaiah, Laura, Ilyana, Meg, Jill, Fiona, Vika, Nailah)
Qualifier 12 (Elincia, Marcia, Leanne, Nephenee, Heather, Lucia, Lethe, Astrid)
Qualifier 13 (Calil, Titania, Mist, Mia, Lyre, Sigrun, Tanith, Ena)
Qualifier 14 (Ashunera, Almedha, Aimee, Anna, Ashera, Catalena, Elena, Petrine)
I am also adding a Google Form to submit characters for an enby bracket so Limstella, Kyza, and Bramimond don't get left out. These can be characters from any game as long as there is canon basis for them being nonbinary.
Extra notes under the cut
Characters who are excluded from voting:
Anyone who obviously both looks and acts like a literal child. Some characters are borderline so discretion may be used*
Generics and palette swaps (e.g. Pain and Agony, and yes I can't believe they named them that either)
Anyone who lacks either a portrait or a unique name
Kyza (they will be included on the Nonbinary bracket)
Special Notes:
I have no idea what to do with Devdan/Danved. They say they aren't the same character, but they kind of are, but they have different names. So are they palette swaps, or are they the same character with a different name and a palette swap? I would usually just exclude them, but they're playable so that feels like it should hold more weight. And then I was like. Screw it we'll just put both on there whatever.
There are some characters who, for spoiler purposes, technically have two different names and/or portraits. For simplicity sake I just picked one portrait/name to use for them.
All characters use their Radiant Dawn appearances (where applicable). Assume the characters are Radiant Dawn age and appearance if they appear there.
*I have played the Tellius games, but I haven't seen absolutely everything. I'm doing my best here. If there's a character on here who you think should be excluded just shoot me an ask or something with your reasoning and we can DQ them if necessary. Please actually send me an ask or DM with actual reasoning, don't just leave a snarky comment with no details and expect me to know what you expect to see.

Leigh plays Tellius prt 27
Tumblr media
It's time to introduce yet another slimy Senator into the narrative, because why not? This time, we have this asshole, a self-righteous fop with a strange fascination with Zelgius. I do love him as a villain, especially his stupid little "Uwee hee hee!" laugh. He's just so much fun to hate.
Tumblr media
And I got my first character to tier 3! To no one's surprise, it was Soren. Look at those stats. He is an absolute terror on the battlefield and I would have it no other way.
Tumblr media
Time for the Kauku Caves map:The map that was so much fun, they had to bring it back in Engage! And we actually get to see what happened to spineless Septimus after he abandoned his troops at Flagurre. I'm surprised he was still allowed to be a general after that, but then again, nepotism goes a long way in Begnion.
Tumblr media
And we get to see Dheginsea, aka Big Granddaddy Dragon. I'll have a lot more to say about him later.
Tumblr media
As always, Ike proves himself the funniest guy in Tellius. His deadpan humor always makes me laugh so hard.
Tumblr media
And now time for something completely different! At this point, I was starting to forget that Geoffrey and co. were in this game. Also, this stupid map took me way too long to complete. Not because it was difficult, mind you. I actually managed to slaughter the enemy and fend off the reinforcements without losing too many of the ally units. No, my greatest obstacle was getting that stupid hidden item on this map without killing the boss. Marcia just barely managed to pull it off, but man. It was a very long, lengthy process.
Tumblr media
Ahaha, shots fired. Geoffrey is such a good malewife, worrying endlessly over his beloved Elincia.
Tumblr media
Sanaki is here! The whole gang's coming together at long last.
Tumblr media
This moment is just so satisfying, after all the humiliation Valtome put Elincia and Zelgius through. Although, with his strange obsession with Zelgius, I cannot help but wonder if part of Valtome enjoyed this.

REUNITED, AND IT FEELS SO GOOD
Kieran and Oscar are finally in the same party again! Also, I just love this entire conversation so much. Oscar knows exactly what to say to get Kieran to do what he wants.

D'awwww. I wonder if Oscar missed Kieran the past year or so? He seemed so exasperated by Kieran's over-the-top personality in PoR, but in this game he's warmed up to him quite a bit, I'd say.

Speaking of fruit, here we have this fantastic line from Tibarn. And listen. I know it's supposed to be a joke, okay? But it's hinted elsewhere that Tibarn and Reyson share a tent, maybe even a bed, which makes me believe that this joke is not so far off from reality.
Honestly, between 1. Heather, 2. Ike, Soren, and Ranulf, 3. Kyza, 4. Sigrun and Tanith, 5. Kieran and Oscar, and now 6. Tibarn and Reyson, the Tellius duology is so goddamn gay.
Anyway, that's the end of part 27. We're almost in the final stretch of part 3. Ahhh, I'm excited but also nervous...

Lucia plays Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn: Part 3 Chapter 8
Compared to the previous chapters, there really is a whole lot less setup for this one, huh? But I guess when your characters are just trying to escape, there isn't much to go into strategy or what politics are at play - just gotta make a run for it.
It's nice to see though how the actual geography of Tellius comes into play for setting up the story and maps here. Based on everything I've seen thus far, this setting feels like it's one of the most fleshed-out that Fire Emblem has ever had, easily up there with Fòdlan. But becaues Three Houses and Three Hope just tend to reuse maps a lot, Fòdlan just really lacks a whole lot of the visual identity that Tellius has. That's something I was actually talking about with my friend as I was streaming for her and she also pointed out that this makes the journey (as in, the physical one, not the emotional one) that the characters go on just a whole lot more believable, which I honestly also really agree with. 3H didn't really have that.
Senator Valtome. Urgh, this guy really looks like an offensive queer stereotype, and behaves like one, too. What a wonderful type of character to have as an antagonist.
Base conversations - Skrimir really showing off his character development here. I do feel like it has happened a bit fast, but. . . ehh, let's be real - with him not being the main protagonist, it's already plenty that he's getting some at all. Not everyone gets that.
Lethe and Lyre have a bit of sibling talk! Not much to note here, but it was a nice one. Based on the title, I wasn't actually certain about which siblings this would be - my first guess was Oscar, Boyd and Rolf, my second guess was Lethe and Lyre, and then my third guess was Ike and Mist. Shame on me that I remembered them last, especially since I gushed about their sibling dynamic a while ago! . . .But also, my friend was probably having some fun listening to me trying to figure that out before I viewed the conversation, especially when it turned out to be Lethe and Lyre, after all.
Now, as for the actual map - heeyyy, it's this guy! The boss! The guy who ran away in the prologue of part three! Fat load of good that did him in the end.
You know, this whole setup and actual map reminds me rather a lot of the chapter in Awakening that takes place in the Demon's Ignle. Protagonists on the run from overwhelmingly strong enemy forces, fleeing through an area with a lot of lava, random area effects from the surroundings. . . guess I now know where they got that inspiration from.
Come to think of it though it's generally just really interesting to see so much of the DNA of the presentation that would manifest itself in a different way in Awakening and Fates here in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn - what with the bust up body portraits for characters, the different expressions on those (though they really are more pronounced in the 3DS titles) and using the 3D models for some simple cutscenes in the background. . . it's neat to see.
Pffft, the boss doesn't have any ranged weapons. Well then!
Hey, we're in Goldoa! I was wondering when that'd come up, seeing as it was set up in the first game and then not a whole lot happened with it.
Dheginsea really is very committed to being neutral, huh? And Tibarn definitely has some good reasons for having beef with them.
Oh, Nasir and Ena are back! Nice to see them. But this really was a short meeting in the end. No way they're not coming back, though.
Come to think of it, though - Soren was once again mysteriously absent for this scene as well, no? He knows he's a branded, so he must be at least somewhat aware of his heritage.
