Madonna to release lost album 'Veronica Electronica'

Madonna has announced that she will be releasing her long-rumoured project, Veronica Electronica, featuring unreleased Ray of Light remixes.

Veronica Electronica was originally envisioned by Madonna as a remix album in 1998 as a companion to her seventh album, Ray of Light.

The project was ultimately sidelined by Ray of Light’s runaway success.

With a parade of hit singles that dominated the spotlight for more than a year.

Ray of Light went on to sell over 16 million copies worldwide and earned Madonna four Grammy Awards, including Best Pop Album.

It was a major stylistic and aesthetic departure from Madonna’s previous work, incorporating multiple genres infused with electronica and techno-pop.

Following the birth of Madonna’s first child, the album’s recording process was the longest of Madonna’s career due to creative and technical breakdowns.

But it all paid off.

Changing the planned direction of Madonna’s long-rumoured companion eight-track album, Veronica Electronica, will now be released in July.

Featuring rare and unreleased remixes from her Ray of Light album.

Veronica Electronica arrives on July 25th, and the first track from the album, Skin (The Collaboration Remix Edit), was shared over the weekend.

Its release will also be highlighted with a new release from the Silver Collection, Madonna’s ongoing career-spanning series of collectible, limited-edition silver vinyl reissues of her catalogue.

Veronica Electronica features newly edited versions of club remixes by Peter Rauhofer, William Orbit, Sasha, BT, and Victor Calderone.

Along with the original demo of Gone, Gone, Gone, a previously unreleased recording produced by Madonna and Rick Nowels.
