i dont like to be serious much on this accnt but i think its genuinely depressing how low the standards have gotten for art nd how many people are too impatient to even make anything. a simple stick figure drawing has now been given extra weight because computers make superficially pretty art for people who dont want to take the time to make art. being an artist is frustrating sometimes, but ill always have th notion that i am someone who takes the time to make things that can mean a whole lot of things to a whole lot of people. something that is human and real.

going forward we need to abandon this idea of "real" art. the term "outsider art" can go die in a ditch too. we need 2 stop placing ridiculous expectations on ourselves. we need to stop comparing ourselves to people. we shld just make things nd we shld give criticism that matters. we shldnt try to find objective solutions to what the artist was thinking when making a piece. sometimes u can just appreciate how the shapes and the textures ebb and flow. maybe that will help you come up w ur own ideas for what the artist was thinking.

maybe... we abandon the idea of art altogether? maybe a bit too radical for most people...

but i wldnt mind.
