HERAKLES LABOR #1: "The Nemean Lion"
Heres what Diodorus suculus, in his book "Library of History" (30-60 B.C.) had to say about Heracles 1st labor:
"The first Labour which he undertook was the slaying of the lion in Nemea. This was a beast of enormous size, which could not be wounded by iron or bronze or stone and required the compulsion of the human hand for his subduing. It passed the larger part of its time between Mycenae and Nemea, in the neighbourhood of a mountain which was called Tretus from a peculiarity which it possessed; for it had a cleft at its base which extended clean through it and in which the beast was accustomed to lurk. Herakles came to the region and attacked the lion, and when the beast retreated into the cleft, after closing up the other opening he followed in after it and grappled with it, and winding his arms about its neck choked it to death. The skin of the lion he put about himself, and since he could cover his whole body with it because of its great size, he had in it a protection against the perils which were to follow."

So I'm working of some firefighter OCs, and I'm trying to make sure the models are those which Piston peak's air attack base can handle. Considering their biggest aircraft being Cabbie and dipper, when we consider their takeoff distance you get 580 and 850m respectively. But considering their overall biggest was the C-130 seen in the "wall of fame", that gives us a takeoff distance of 1,110 m (C-130's varies from 1,005-1,095 m).

-> I wasn't gonna take the Martin Mars into consideration because even though they're the biggest, Martin Mars aircraft is not amphibious like the CL-415 (Lil' Dipper), they always had to land in water. However @jigsaw173 posted this certain picture:

And in the picture you can see the Martin Mars aircraft has gears. Considering their size and huge weight, I'm considering they'd need the runway to be near or above 2,000 m cause landing and takeoff distances vary, and takeoff distance is often higher.
[Again, credits to: @jigsaw173 for finding this and posting it]
-> Ok now taking consideration of the largest jet seen at Piston peak would be Siddeley (or that guy who does look like Siddeley, if it's not him), his model is inspired by a Gulfstream V, whose takeoff distance is 1,570 m.
I don't know what to do with the lodge's runway, but if it's that long, then certainly the air attack team's base should've had such a long runway too.
-> Why am I blabbering about this?? Cause I wanted to make a DC-10 Air tanker OC but due to their size, I wondered if they could land and take off from the base. Did I get my answer? No not exactly but I feel like the runway should be near 2,000 m long so I'll take it and somehow work them out.
#yeah cause ive had this DC-10 OC for a long time and really wanna post about them#disney planes#planes fire and rescue#piston peak#piston peak air attack

Being from a place doesn't mean that one group indigenous to that place gets to go and kick everyone else who is also indigenous to that same place. It certainly doesn't mean that one group indigenous to that place gets to bomb innocent civilians because that is not the way to catch terrorists. Even if the terrorists die, so did countless people who weren't terrorists. Being indigenous to a land also doesn't mean that said group should deny humanitarian aid to another group, whether that group is indigenous to that area or not.
First of all, if you really wanna have a conversation about this come off anon- I don’t bite.
Secondly, Palestinians as a national group do not fit the UN* criteria for indigeneity, even if many of them have jewish, druze, or ancestry from other groups indigenous to the levant- because indigeneity is not solely based on DNA and ancestry, it’s about cultural practices that show a clear connection to the physical land (among other things). Of course, I fully support the formation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, and this does not mean that they have any less right to live on the land and claim it as their home, considering the very long history Palestinians have in the region. When Jews immigrated en masse to British Mandate Palestine after WWII, they did not kick anyone out- they legally purchased empty land. What happened was the neighboring arab countries felt threatened by the growing Jewish population, and when israel declared itself a state they told arab palestinians to leave their homes so the arab armies could come in, but that it would all be over within two weeks and they could come back. The arab armies lost the war and israel won the territory.
With all this in mind, are you telling me that Hamas, a genocidal terrorist organization that abuses its own citizens, has the right to enter a Israel’s internationally recognized sovereign territory, brutally rape and slaughter 1,400 of its people (1,200 of them Israeli), kidnap over 200 of them (130 are still being held in captivity, including the bodies of dead hostages which Hamas refuses to return), including children and the elderly, and yet the Israel has no right to respond militarily? Do you hear how insane that sounds?
Yes, the fact that innocent Gazans are killed as a result of the bombing is undoubtedly a tragedy- but that’s what war is. Over 2 million German civilians were killed in WWII, yet no one would argue that the allies didn’t have a right to attack Germany, nor has anyone ever made the argument (to my knowledge) that the allies had a responsibility to provide German citizens with humanitarian aid. The only responsibility a country responding to an attack on its territory has to the citizens of the opposing country is to take every measure to ensure that as few civilians are killed as possible- which Israel has done. They’ve sent down flyers, made phone calls, sent text messages, and use “door knocker” bombs that shake the building without destroying anything to warn people to evacuate. Strategically, telling civilians exactly when and where they will attack is a horrible idea as it alerts the enemy (Hamas) exactly where Israel will be striking. But i’m not at all opposed to these methods because they save innocent lives. It’s horrible and traumatizing when people’s homes are destroyed and they are only given minutes to evacuate, but is that not a better fate than death? Not only that, but Hamas has built MILES of underground tunnels underneath Gaza using money from aid organizations. With the money they have, they could’ve built bomb shelters, a defense system like the iron dome, but instead the leaders of Hamas are billionaires living in luxury in qatar while their people suffer. Because the truth is, they don’t care about Gazans, they have said themselves they have no interest in running Gaza and their only goal is destroying Israel and the Jewish people.
One could argue that Israel could do a better job of warning civilians, and at this point I (an American Jew) and most Israelis are unsure what further bombing of gaza is even accomplishing and are furious with Netanyahu and his cabinet. With that being said, Israel estimates it has killed somewhere between 9,000-13,000 hamas terrorists, if the death toll of 34,000 provided by the gaza ministry of health (which is controlled by hamas) is to be believed (and I say this bc Hamas has a history of lying about the number of deaths and also does not differentiate between civilian and combatant casualties), that still means that the combatant to civilian death ratio is roughly between 1:3 to 1:1. The average ratio in urban warfare is closer to 1:14. Israel has absolutely zero responsibility to provide humanitarian aid to Gazans, that is the responsibility of Hamas- the de-facto government of Gaza that started this war in the first place. And YET there are more than double the amount of aid trucks entering Gaza than before the war (70/day vs now 300/day). Yet half the population of Gaza is on the brink of starvation- Why? Because Hamas is literally STEALING HUMANITARIAN AID for themselves and selling it back at exorbitant prices.
#there’s more I can say but this is already so long#israel#palestine#gaza#i/p#israel hamas war#fuck hamas

Ethereon (Redesign)
So this Post deserves a bit of context. I redesigned my Ghost-Type Eeveelution, Ethereon. But why? Well despite what it looks like from my post history, Ethereon was actually the first Eeveelution I ever drew myself as well as the first full on Fakemon I ever designed. (Only Hisuian Raichu came earlier, but that one is a regional Variant)
And since it was the first, I wasn’t yet that good. The result was that I took some shortcuts while drawing and also messed up the proportions completely. And that always bothered me, I improved a lot since then but one of my favorite designs was also arguably my worst. And so I redid it, I choose a more dynamic pose so that all four legs are clearly visible unlike before, I had it face the viewer and increased it’s head size as to better match the other Eevees. And I’m really pleased with the results. I think this design is worthy of being called my favorite and I can also see how much I improved since the first design.
Now I will say, this is not likely to happen often. I am first and foremost an author and not an Illustrator. I draw to supplement my stories and so as long as I feel the design is not completely outdated I’ll not redraw it, even if I got that much better. Still I hope you enjoyed this new version and didn’t mind my rant. Here is the rest of the Lore copied over from the old post. (You can still find that here by the way.)

Ethereon, unlike other Ghost Types, are not dead but instead have a deep connection to the spirit realm. Wild Ethereon are exceedingly rare, and tend to wander the world, searching for lost souls they can help find their way to the afterlife. If an Ethereon has a trainer, it‘ll be loyal for live. Often refusing to listen to anyone but the trainer. If the trainer of an Ethereon dies, it’ll guide them personally into the next live and watch over them after reincarnation.

Disturbances & Revolutions
[A] disturbance is a change in environmental conditions that causes a pronounced change in an ecosystem… Deciding what counts as a disturbance is always a matter of point of view.[4]
My friends have started playing with
the word revolution again; not “the rev” [ed. – i.e. singular; see 'Not Fighting the Same Fight'], but revolutions and revolutionary change. We try it on to see how it feels. Words are hard, definitions are hard. Revolutions disturb the worlds that make up our lives. But, what counts as a disturbance? What is a pronounced change? When is that change something we want? What is the difference between change and harm? What are revolutions? Maybe there are only moments when things speed up and change happens faster. It is hard to find a strategy because the destination is unclear. What are our goals? Who are we, anyways? We search for new orientations, new possibilities.
The idea of permanent conflictuality has become a joke or a trope. Maybe we should say permanent engagement. There still isn’t a utopia or an end. It’s going to look like constantly engaging with what’s going on around us.[5]
Not a utopia, but a direction, a horizon.
According to Stephanie Phillips, “the [Saint Lawrence] Seaway had been the long-standing dream of both Canada and the U.S. as a means of improving shipping on the St. Lawrence and of exploiting the river’s potential for hydroelectric power.”[6] It was dug out to carry grains grown in the Midwest US to markets in Europe. “The need for cheap haulage of Quebec –Labrador iron ore was one of the arguments that finally swung the balance in favor of the seaway.”[7] The Seaway as a hydro-electric power project, involved creating a dam that flooded about 49,000 acres of land.[8] The project was finished in 1959.
This is a story about the Seaway. It is part of many overlapping stories. Stories of displacement, dispossession and disturbance. The story of the Seaway includes the story of the people in the community of Kahnawá:ke who had 1,262 acres of land stolen and whose access to the river was cut off when the Seaway was dug out.[9] “The construction of the Seaway was an attack on the community’s land base and resources, its political autonomy, and its way of life.”[10] Ahkwesáhsne had 130 acres of land stolen.[11] In total, about 11,000 people were displaced by the Seaway. Humans, animals, and biological ecosystems were altered forever.
This is an international story that crosses U.S.-Canadian lines; an inter-provincial story as it affected both Ontario and Quebec, and a story of the abrogation of long-standing treaties with the Mohawks of Akwesasne and Kahnawake. The story began late in the nineteenth century, heated up considerably throughout the early part of the twentieth, and became a defense imperative for both Canada and the U.S. during World War II. It is a story of political alignments and realignments, big business lobbies, grassroots social protest, community loss, and environmental change in rewriting the landscape of the St. Lawrence River.[12]
The story of the Seaway includes the stories of the canals that closed when it opened. It is the stories of the neighbourhoods around the closed canals that experienced economic shifts and population changes. It is the stories of the 22,000 people employed between 1954 and 1959 to work on “one of the largest civil engineering feats ever undertaken.”[13] It is the stories of the 200 odd employees for the Seaway Corporation who almost went on strike in 2014 over proposed automation of the lock system and fear that it would put them out of work completely.
The Seaway drastically changed the landscape between Montreal and Lake Erie. New canals were dug out, new locks installed. New islands made from the dug up river bed appeared. Whole villages ended up underwater. Called a great water highway, the Seaway is an infrastructure project that cost tens of billions of dollars. The Seaway both is and is not the river. You can’t swim in the water. There are signs warning people to not get too close to the locks. You can’t fish in the Seaway. “There are many unseen dangers in and around seaway channels.”[14]
What kind of river will the Saint Lawrence become when the Seaway ceases to be profitable? What futures are possible in the deeper waters and new locks that run from the ocean all the way into the Great Lakes? This project has permanently altered a landscape and everything that moves through it. How can we find the “life promoting patches” that persist in the aftermath of a colonialist and capitalist project, a disturbance like the Seaway?[15]
There is a vacant lot in a city near the Seaway. A vacant lot in a “revitalizing post-industrial neighbourhood.” Revitalized is the word for “there is capital moving through there again.” The abandoned factories have become art studios and tech start ups and condos. This vacant lot persists. The lot is covered in mugwort plants. It's the summer of 2011 and there is a crowd of people coming. You and I dart out in front of the crowd, carrying a big banner. We scurry up to a huge wooden advertisement for brand new condos and spend ten minutes trying to figure out how to drape the banner over the billboard. We succeed, only no one can read the banner because it won’t hang cleanly, but no one can read the billboard anymore either – a small act against gentrification.
Two days later I go back to the lot. I bask in the sunshine and pick a few mugwort plants. The banner is still there, flapping on the front of the billboard. I head home to stuff the mugwort into jars filled with cheap vodka. To let them sit in my cupboard for the rest of the summer until they become tinctures. The banner stayed up for months.

For the past few months I've been playing Nuclear Option, which is a combat flight sim made by an indie team that started as a one-man project by a guy from Australia. I don't usually recommend Early Access games but I recommend this one wholeheartedly. I think this fan trailer that someone made is even better than official promotional materials for the game. More info / thoughts / shilling below.
It's little bit of a halfway house between arcade flight sims like Ace Combat and more authentic sims like DCS world, and it hits a bit of a sweet spot for me - it has realistic-feeling flight and damage models as well as realistic weapons, but is still way easier to pick up than more hardcore flight sims - once you wrap your had around some of the more advanced concepts like the various kinds of weapon guidance systems and their countermeasures, you're more or less good to go. Right now it has some training missions and a short selection of short singleplayer scenarios to get accustomed to the aircraft, but the real draw of the game is Escalation, which can be played singleplayer or multiplayer, where the whole map is used to fight a massive war between the two enemy factions. Each team starts off only really being able to field light ground attack aircraft and trainer jets, and as the game goes on it escalates all the way up to strategic bombers with nuclear cruise missiles.
Which accounts for the name of the game, by the way. It lets you use nuclear weapons and they're absurdly devastating. There aren't that many game that let you use nukes in regular gameplay while also having them feel as impactful as they do in real life, this is one of them. However, at the same time they're not an auto-win button because all ordnance including nuclear missiles and bombs can be shot down in flight - you have to destroy enemy air defences first.
As of the time of the video above there were five playable aircraft, right now there are 8:
The Cricket, a lightweight propeller aircraft that's for light ground attack and scouting, that can take off and land in all kinds of places
The Compass, a jet trainer that can do a little bit of everything, though not as good as dedicated aircraft, with it being best, again, at ground attack,
The Revoker, a single engine interceptor / air superiority fighter with insane speed and manoeuvrability,
The Chicane, a stealthy attack helicopter with a 30mm turret and options to mount tons of missiles for busting tanks and other vehicles,
The Ifrit, a semi-stealthy twin-engine carrier based fighter that's good all-round at everything but with a cost to match,
The Medusa, my beloved, my favourite plane in the game and probably one of my favourite fictional aircraft full-stop, a large frankenstein of a plane that includes a mix of harrier style jump-jet short take off and landing, electronic warfare, early-warning radar, anti-radiation missiles and even an anti-missile laser system,
The Darkreach, the aforementioned heavy bomber that can toss around bombs and cruise missiles, including nuclear ones, like no-one's business.
And the Tarantula, which as of writing is the most recent addition - it's a heavy transport aircraft which can airlift supplies and vehicles, which can change to a AC-130 style gunship variant with guided missiles, machine guns and like the AC-130, a howitzer with guided shells. The twist is that instead of being a standard plane it's a tilt-rotor like V-22 Osprey.
youtube
(no fancy artwork on the wiki so have the trailer where it was introduced instead)
With what they currently have there's quite a lot of variety. The three fighter aircraft are the most similar to each other but they're all still distinct, and everything besides those is almost entirely unique. There's another big update on the card likely coming through sometime soon with a ninth aircraft alongside another huge tranche of features, most likely. The best thing about this game is that unlike some early access games the updates come regularly and make significant improvements and additions every time, and the lead dev says the next update will be the biggest one yet.
The game is picking up traction but I feel like they deserve even more support, I love what they've done here. As mentioned, it's not hard to pick up even if you're new to flight sims, you don't need a massively powerful computer to play it, you can get by purely with KB+M or a normal controller with the occasional keyboard input, though it also supports HOTAS and Track-IR if you're a flight sim enthusiast. It's also cheap on Steam - IIRC it's currently 20 US dollars or whatever your regional equivalent is. It's totally free of the monetization abyss of free-to-play hell that is War Thunder, and the entire package is cheaper than basically every single DCS module. It's also cheaper than Ace Combat 7 (unless it's on sale which it almost always right now - again though, they're not really the same thing) If any of this sounds remotely interesting then you owe it to yourself to get in on this now - it'll help the continuing development of the game.

How do monster stats work?
What would someone see if they "Checked" one of the skeletons?
Ehehehehe finally this question is getting answered!!!
Ok so when someone performs a “check”, they see five things: LV, HP, DF, AT and status
LV:
Level of love, or basically how many kills this monster has had. This stat will show as 0 for any monster/human who’s never killed, a first kill is set firmly at 1 and the number increases slowly with the more violence the monster/human has performed.
LV climbs slowly, so high numbers are a lot harder to achieve than you think. The majority of fell monsters only have an LV around 1-3, and the highest number in recorded history was Laios the Violent, a ruler in outerfell during the war between monsters and humans. His LV was said to be 35 before he finally died. Truly a beast.
The highest LV of all the skeletons would be coffee who has a solid 9. Next is butch who has a 8.7.
Monsters who are LV sick and past the controllable stages LV stat will change to a fuzzy unreadable blob instead of a number.
HP:
This stat reflects the status of the body, mind and souls health. For humans, their number rarely goes down for emotional damage except in moments of crisis, but for monsters who’s souls are directly connected to their bodies, strong emotional damage can read the same as actually being physically damaged
The average HP of a healthy human is between 500-800, and the average HP of a healthy monster is between 450- 600.
The base number of a humans/monsters HP can be increased or decreased based on how fit they are mentally and physically, so often a persons base number fluctuates over time.
Monsters with dimming never see their HP go past 100
Any monster who becomes a royal gets a massive boost to their HP through the ritual, putting them at average 1600-2200.
DF:
DF, or the defense stat, is a number describing how sturdy one is against magical attacks. Defense has nothing to do with actual physical armor and cannot be increased by any outside force.
The average DF for humans is very narrow, between 30-40. For monsters it’s a lot more flexible with any number between 1-100.
Through intense training of one’s magic, it is possible to increase DF, but it really doesn’t change too much. Masters at combat often report their stat only going up a couple points over their whole lifetime
AT:
AT describes the power behind a monsters magic attack, not their physical attacks or strength.
AT is a stat that only appears in humans who have access to their souls, so it only shows in witches. In a normal human, the spout where a check shows AT is left blank
AT can range anywhere between 1-100 for monsters, and for mages and witches that range increases to 1-130.
For royals, they get a boost of 35 to their AT in addition to whatever their base number was before
AT is directly related to HP so, when a healthy monster/witch trains and gets fitter, they can see their AT increase, as well as when they become sickly it decreases. Its rates of increase and decrease are much smaller than HP though.
The average monster will lie between 15-30 in AT, above average is 31-45 and anything beyond that is considered incredibly talented regardless of monster type
STATUS:
The status is a very brief summary of how that person is doing. It usually shows as a short sentence like “darling is craving something sugary” or “mister is anxious about his upcoming test”. It rarely goes into detail unless the monster being checked wants someone to see what they can’t say.
Here’s a little example of what you’d see in a check, using sans!
Sans Wingdings
LV: 0
HP: 380/380
DF: 9
AT: 12
STATUS: “yes he’s aware this raises more questions than answers”
And last but not least, a few more facts about checks
It’s considered very rude and invasive to perform a check without permission, one never does this to a stranger unless they’re sure they’ll win a fight with them lol.
When a human joins a coven and trains to be a witch, the first spell they’ll learn is how to perform a check
In order to become a professional fighter (magic sparring) one needs a DF stat of at least 15 or higher. Anything lower than that is considered a high risk for permanent injury and won’t be allowed in any competitions.
In order to join the royal guard, you need a minimum of 10 DF and 15 AT.
The royal with the highest DF is Asgore with a whopping 89
The royal with the highest AT is toriel with a whopping 105.
It’s impossible to hide performing a check as it’s a very “loud” sensation. People have described their soul being checked as similar to feeling their insides being “wrapped up”. It’s not painful, but definitely uncomfortable if you’re not expecting it.

Arknights Chapter XIII - The Whirlpool That Is Passion (Part I)
GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY AND I WISH ALL THOSE WHO WISH TO BE HOEDERER/VENDELA/VERDANT OWNERS TO BE HAVERS BECAUSE IT'S A WONDERFUL DAY AND I AM SO OVERDUE WITH WRITING THIS ACTUALLY!!!!
WARNING: This post is going to contain a lot of yapping from me about Hoederer and how much I love him and would also have a LOT of spoilers.
I am also a great yume-shipper, so my Dr. and Hoederer are married, that information should help with the weird comments sometimes.
Might make it different parts because all those SS will never fit even up to the part I am right now.
Perhaps first of all I need to mention how the pulling went? Apart from my day being catastrophically long and arduous, I managed to sneak some snacking in-between the one additional hour I had left after returning home.
I was actually shaking. Jittering out of my bones, near-heart attack type of activity was happening on my side of the screen while everybody else watched. I was supposed to take SS of every 10-pull but... I got ahead of myself. I think I had around 130 pulls, excluding the ones that I could buy from the ticket shop and the Originium that I blew for a skin.
I even kind of... Skipped my first Hoederer. The one below is the second one, that I ended my funds for, until I could buy the level 60 pack from the shop.
But we caught the third one.
And as it happens I was underprepared with money and XP cards, though I had all the materials for his skills. Bless the green tickets for allowing me to bulk-buy some of them actually since... My god farming for the RMA70-12 is tedious, fruitless and sad.
If I could get a penny for every single time this loser was being problematic I would have enough to buy them and never have problems again.
In any case, he could be immediately E1 lvl80d, and I have been grinding enough to get him to E2 on the same day. He's currently lvl60, cooking his M3 on S1 with Wishlash giving him a thumbs up every time he pulls out a whole boiled chicken to eat.
Starved Sarkaz, am I right?
Even his little token that you get when he joins you another time... I am actually crying, I love him so much and I am so happy he became playable.
Speaking of, did anybody know that the furniture set is separated into a couple other, smaller sets, or was I supposed to learn this from googling it myself?
Apparently, the whole set is called Mercenaries' Hideout, but the smaller sections of it are:
Writing Is Meaningless
Don't Ever Truly Rest
Secondhand Goods
Maintain Your Health
And I am sitting here, tears in my eyes reading their descriptions... When I first remembered that Chapter 13 was coming with a new set I almost screamed. Dr. Pinkie was making fun of me for calling this jail cell basically the same epithets you would use for a five-star hotel, but it really was close to my heart the way it mixed compact with DIY/'Hey, you'll never guess what I found on the street' kind of interior.
And because it is based around Hoederer, we are going to look through it first and read the descriptions before I actually descend into the story.
Description of the full set reads:
A recreation of a hideout in Kazdel, based on Hoederer's description and a number of additional details provided by Ines. As for anything not recreated from their recollections, it's best not to touch—Anything added by W might just blow up.
I love to imagine that these three have to share a dorm and the Doctor just goes up to Ines and Hoederer and asks if there is anything they can do to make it cosy or somehow homey. Also to think that both of them would have recollections of these 'hideouts' in Kazdel... Meanwhile, W seems like she's never been in those? My memory is kind of fuzzy about just how old the three are in comparison to each other.
Before/After Kazdel is pretty much like Before/After Eve was on the internet.
Basement Flooring:
Flooring that recreates the vibes of the basement where the mercenaries lived back in Kazdel. Ines sometimes muses that the place would be more suitable as a small shop. The two both ignored W's suggestion to sell potatoes there.
Basement Wallpaper:
Wallpaper that recreates the look of the basement where the mercenaries lived back in Kazdel. The gray walls look almost exactly the same as before. This time, when they look out the window, it is not the dust-covered Kazdel that they see.
'Our Current State'
A light tube is attached to a frame haphazardly welded together from multiple iron plates, letting out a warm glow despite its appearance. No matter how unstable it may seem, its light can carry the mercenaries through the dark night.
Somehow this little light contraption is 10000x better than any glaring white LED lightbulb that you could ever introduce to me these days.
Rust-colored Rug
A rug showing signs of age that look almost like rust. For some reason, this makes it blend in with the room's style. Is there a color that better reflects life in Kazdel? At least it's not blood-colored.
WHAT IF I JUST EXPLODE IN TEARS???!!!!????!!!!!
Writing Work Desk
A desk piled with books and documents. There are clear traces of manual craftsmanship. Few of the Sarkaz publications sitting on the desk are actually written in the Sarkaz language.
Hoederer's writing desk, I love him so much. The place he might be writing down the different things he wants to be telling to his class, because you KNOW I will absolutely be filing for sponsorship to get him those books and songs he might want to use. Pull in other Sarkaz on the ship to help. Not sure who I have who could be specifically from Kazdel times, but we will find them for you sweetie.
Intel Organizer
A must-have document pegboard for mercenaries, usually used to confirm target information and locations prior to missions. The photographs are always taken down whenever their owner returns. Yet sometimes, their owner never returns.
... I think I am actually going to die from sadness and we have not even started the chapter yet.
Storage Steel Pipe
A rack welded together from steel pipes and plates, normally used to hang clothes and hats. "How many times do I have to say this? Do not hang your work aprons here!"
I don't know who is speaking but the 'work apron' looks like it's Hoederer's and if I have to assume it's probably Ines who is scolding him about it. Little rebel, does it anyways.
Mercenaries' Bed
A flatbed trolley turned sofa bed. The fabric has frayed, but it is indeed soft and roomy. The broken wheel hubs ensure that it stays in place. For a very long time, this was the only place where the nights were not plagued by nightmares.
Imagine being on your trolley sofa-bed and suddenly RI begins moving because there is an emergency and your silly wheels go squeak-squeak towards the other end of the room at the same speed at which you were sitting still because everything else is moving but the bed is trying to stay at the same spot---
Me: "Do we know how fast RI moves?" Pinkie: "As fast as Czernobog can move towards Lungmen. It has to be fast enough to outrun a tornado." Me: "OH. Alright. Yeah, that makes sense."
"No Overloading"
Originally an exquisite wooden hanging lamp that lets out a warm glow. There are always knickknacks piled on top. It has a warning placed above: "No stacking!" Hoederer asked Ines, "Is this really something we can use?" Ines answered, "Yes."
IS THAT A PHOTO???? IS THAT??? WHAT ARE THEY???? Books???
Simple Study Ceiling Light
A part that the mercenaries removed from who-knows-what and hung from the ceiling. It started glowing, and not only is it very bright, it's also very hot. Ines asked Hoederer, "Is this really something we can use?" Hoederer answered, "Yes."
Hoederer, sweetie, I think if Ines gets to ask 'Can we use this safely?' then perhaps we might not have to use a random fire stick someone found somewhere.
Portable Stove
A stove that's portable, easy to assemble. What's on it likely belongs to a certain dangerous individual. Do not touch. "Oh, the paper in the stove? I ran out of fuel. By the way, Hoederer, you hungry? I cooked some potatoes over there."
YEAH? WITH HIS BOOKS, DIDNT YOU W???
"Versatility"
A bookshelf put together from multiple recycled materials. The lamp at the top was brought back by Ines. She said it was to make it easier to see shadows. The box at the foot of the shelf is full of historical studies.
Yeah, I too need a dowry chest full of books to feel satisfied.
Secondhand File Cabinet
A heavy steel file cabinet containing the historical data of each Sarkaz clan. Today, even the names of many of the clans documented within are indecipherable.

AC-130 Ghostrider Gunship Strikes Iranian-Backed Militia In Iraq
This marks the fourth U.S. airstrike against Iranian-backed militias since Oct. 26 and the first on a target in Iraq.
Howard AltmanPUBLISHED Nov 21, 2023 12:42 PM EST
AC-130J attacked a target in iraq after attacks on US bases there.
USAF
A U.S. Air Force AC-130J Ghostrider gunship struck a vehicle Tuesday near Baghdad involved in recent attacks on the Al-Asad airbase in Iraq, a U.S. official told The War Zone Tuesday. It was the first time the U.S. has struck a target in Iraq since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war Oct. 7.
At least one member of the Iranian-backed Kataib Hezbollah militia was killed in the attack, said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss operational details. The official did specify what role the vehicle or occupants had in the attacks on Al-Asad.
A U.S. military official told The War Zone that "at least one member of a hostile force belonging to an Iranian-backed militia" was killed when the U.S. responded to an attack on Al Asad today that injured several U.S. troops and caused minor damage to infrastructure.
It was the 65th such attack on U.S. forces in Iraq and Syria since Oct. 17, according to the Pentagon. It was also the third time, including Oct. 21 and Oct. 17, that U.S. troops have been injured by attacks on Al Asad, according to the Pentagon, which said the base has struck at least 15 times by drones and rockets since Oct. 17.
The U.S. military official, also speaking on condition of anonymity for the same reasons, could not immediately say how many troops were injured or offer details about what kind of injuries. That official would not say how the U.S. strike was carried out nor what role the vehicle or occupants played in the attack on Al Asad.
This marks the fourth known U.S. airstrike against Iranian-backed militias since Oct. 26 and the first in Iraq, as well as the first by a Ghostrider. The previous three attacks - Nov. 12, Nov. 8 and Oct. 26 - were carried out by Air Force fighters on targets in Syria.
Open source trackers began reporting seeing a Ghostrider flying patterns over west Baghdad last night. The fact that it was doing so with its transponder on was very peculiar.
The latest attack on Al Asad was claimed by a loose-knit group of those militias calling itself the Islamic Resistance. There were also three reported over the weekend, two in Syria and one in Iraq.
The group said one of the fighters associated with it, Fadil Al-Maksusi, was killed. He belonged to Kataib Hezbollah and was killed in the airstrike, Atlas News reported.
The Pentagon says the attacks on U.S. forces since Oct. 17 have been fairly evenly split, with 31 in Iraq and 34 in Syria. They have been carried out "by a mix of one-way attack drones and rockets," a U.S. official said. "Most of these attacks were successfully disrupted by our military. Most failed to reach their targets, thanks to our robust defenses."
Still, more than 60 troops have been injured in these attacks, including the ones in the most recent attack on Al Asad. Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh told reporters Nov. 16. About 27 troops were evaluated for traumatic brain injury and 32 for non-serious injuries and all have returned to duty, she said.
In January 2020, Al Asad was struck by 11 Iranian Qiam-1 short-range ballistic missiles had hit Al Asad in response to an attack that killed Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps leader Qassam Soleimani.
As for the platform involved here, the AC-130J, it's Air Force Special Operations Command's flying arsenal ship equipped with 30mm Bushmaster chain gun, a 105mm Howitzer and a wide variety of air-to-ground guided weapons. Its sensor and communications suite, as well as its long loitering time and surgical air-to-ground arsenal, make it extremely capable when it comes to finding and attacking targets of opportunity in lower threat airspace, especially at night. You can read more about the latest AC-130J developments here and here.
youtube
This is a developing story. We will update it when there is more news to report about the attack.

Choosing the Best Doctor for Blood Pressure Could Save Your Life

High blood pressure, or hypertension, is often called the "silent killer"—and for good reason. It typically shows no clear symptoms, yet it quietly damages your heart, brain, kidneys, and blood vessels over time.
Choosing the best doctor for blood pressure could literally save your life. Accurate diagnosis, timely treatment, and personalized care make all the difference in preventing complications such as stroke, heart failure, kidney damage, and vision loss.
If you're in or near Indore, trust Dr. Archana Rathi, one of the most experienced and compassionate general physicians of Indore, to guide you through effective and sustainable blood pressure control.
Why Early Intervention Is Crucial
Hypertension doesn’t happen overnight. It develops slowly—and without warning. By the time symptoms appear, vital organs may already be affected.
Here’s what can happen when high blood pressure is left untreated:
Heart complications: Hypertension thickens heart walls, increasing the risk of heart failure and heart attacks.
Kidney damage: It can scar and impair the kidneys’ filtering ability.
Stroke risk: High BP weakens arteries, leading to brain bleeds or clots.
Vision problems: Retinal damage from elevated pressure can cause blindness.
The best hypertension doctor in Indore will not only monitor your condition but act quickly before permanent damage occurs.
Signs You May Have High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure is often symptomless. However, in some cases, patients may notice:
Frequent headaches
Dizziness or blurred vision
Chest discomfort
Shortness of breath
Fatigue or confusion
Nosebleeds (in severe cases)
Even if you feel fine, regular screening is vital—especially if you’re over 35 or have a family history of heart disease.

Israeli strikes kill hundreds in Lebanon’s deadliest day of conflict since 2006 Via Associated Press & BBC News, 24/9/2024
Israeli strikes Monday on Lebanon killed more than 490 people, including more than 90 women and children, Lebanese authorities said, in the deadliest barrage since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war. The Israeli military warned residents in southern and eastern Lebanon to evacuate ahead of its widening air campaign against Hezbollah. Thousands of Lebanese fled the south, and the main highway out of the southern port city of Sidon was jammed with cars heading toward Beirut in the biggest exodus since 2006. Lebanon’s health ministry said the strikes killed 492 people, including 35 children and 58 women, and wounded 1,645 people — a staggering one-day toll for a country still reeling from a deadly attack on communication devices last week. In a recorded message, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Lebanese civilians to heed Israeli calls to evacuate, saying “take this warning seriously.” “Please get out of harm’s way now,” Netanyahu said. “Once our operation is finished, you can come back safely to your homes.” Israel’s military spokesman, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, said the army will do “whatever is necessary” to push Hezbollah from Lebanon’s border with Israel. Hagari claimed Monday’s widespread airstrikes had inflicted heavy damage on Hezbollah. But he would not give a timeline for the operation and said Israel was prepared to launch a ground invasion of Lebanon if needed. “We are not looking for wars. We are looking to take down the threats,” he said. “We will do whatever is necessary to do to achieve this mission.” Hagari said Hezbollah has launched some 9,000 rockets and drones into Israel since last October, including 250 on Monday alone. The military said Israeli warplanes struck 1,600 Hezbollah targets Monday, destroying cruise missiles, long- and short-range rockets and attack drones. The spokesman said many were hidden in residential areas, showing photos of what he said were weapons concealed in private homes. “Hezbollah has turned southern Lebanon into a war zone,” he told a news conference. Israel estimates Hezbollah has some 150,000 rockets and missiles, including guided missiles and long-range projectiles capable of striking anywhere in Israel. Earlier Monday evening, the Israeli military said it had carried out a targeted strike in Beirut. It did not give details. Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported three missiles hit southern Beirut’s Beir al-Abed neighborhood. Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV said six people were wounded. Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad said the earlier strikes hit hospitals, medical centers and ambulances. The government ordered schools and universities to close across most of the country and began preparing shelters for the displaced. Some strikes hit residential areas in the south and the eastern Bekaa Valley. One hit a wooded area as far away as Byblos, more than 80 miles (130 kilometers) from the border north of Beirut. Israel said it was expanding the airstrikes to include areas of the valley along Lebanon’s eastern border with Syria. Hezbollah has long had an established presence in the valley, where the group was founded in 1982 with the help of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards in the wake of Israel’s invasion and occupation of Lebanon. Israel’s military chief, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, said Israel was preparing its “next phases” of operations against Hezbollah, and that its airstrikes were “proactive,” targeting Hezbollah infrastructure built over the past 20 years. Halevi said the goal was to allow displaced Israelis to return to their homes in northern Israel. Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it fired dozens of rockets toward Israel, including at military bases. It also targeted for a second day the facilities of the Rafael defense firm, headquartered in Haifa.

I beat the original Seiken Densetsu 3/Trials of Mana without changing my characters' classes. YouTube keeps suggesting me stupid challenge runs for other games, so I had to do my own for my very favorite. In the past, I've done the solo character run with Duran... Twice! How hard could this be?
[Inaudible screaming here]
I told my sigma reader and good buddy pop I wanted to try the challenge. I asked if he wanted to play too to make it a little easier.
He messaged me, "why? That sounds unfun. What's wrong with you?"
"My curiosity is piqued," I replied.
That's how it goes. So, I embarked SOLO without that dork LOL. Take that. 😠
As a disclaimer, there was heavy use of savestating on my, uh, very legitimate Super Famicom that I definitely own. Otherwise, I think I would have stress-grayed the rest of my hair doing this challenge.
Now, onto my character choices... Behold! The squad handpicked for this task after about two minutes of thinking about it.
I guess I should explain why I chose these three dingbats (besides two of them being my favorites... No bias in my selection process for this, I promise!)
It was imperative that this challenge was done on the Dragon Lord route due to my familiarity with it and for a few other reasons I'll explain later.
I picked Duran as the leader. He's a pretty beefy boy who can tank hits and dishes out damage pretty decently. Had I gone with Hawkeye or Riesz, I don't think my damage output would have been good enough, even with Hawkeye's cracked CS building capabilities. Also, he's explicitly told to class change in his intro. That's one of his goals. Uh, yeah... too bad for him, I guess. He also gives access to some very important items later on.
Secondly, Kevin is a given. He's similarly beefy and comes with that invaluable beastman form that can poop out damage like no other. Also, Kevin has an exploit I could use in case of an emergency... But I did my best to only save that in case I didn't think the challenge was possible.
Lastly, I chose Angela to round out the party. To more seasoned players of the original, she appears to be a counterintuitive pick, what with her slow cast times and arcane ability to piss off boss monsters and invoke their counter attacks with her spells. But! She might have been the crux of this entire team and this challenge being successful— The MVP, even!
Despite her magic being basic, it came in handy in later parts of the game and managed to dish out even better damage than Duran and Kevin in some cases, especially against normal enemies. Go figure! She was also there to throw Poto Oils to heal the party. And she tanked magic spells like a champion! You go, Angela!
In fact, here's a recreation of the Dangaard fight below with my super awesome phone drawing skills to demonstrate:

Speaking of poto oils... Wow. Doing this challenge taught me some more shit about the game I didn't know. I had no idea Mind Up/Sahagin's Scales actually decreased your casted healing magic! Yes, I would watch Angela's poto oil heals go from 130 to 100 after a Sahagin scale. Very peculiar. Then again, SD3 is a game that manages to run despite itself by being fueled by Ishii's drunken hopes and dreams.
Another thing to note is that stats cap off. Once you hit the cap, well, that's it. Angela's MT Poto Oil healing was locked in at 130 HP for the rest of the game once her spirit had been maxed. Defenses also don't scale very well, it seems. HP... Seems to, however? I found their HP at the end seemed to be pretty comparable to their class 3 counterparts. 🤷♀️
Also... ??? Seeds. You will always get light aligned items even if you're still in your base class. This was absolutely CRUCIAL to the late game. And, we can't forget the Black Market, purveyor of chopped off monster hands, chipped off monster scales with buffing properties, healing oils squeezed from cute little lizard monsters, and... prince slaves.
... Ew. Kill me
Thanks!
The first part of the challenge is simple. I won't detail how the journey went in the first phase of the game because we all know how that goes. Blah blah, Duran gets owned by Crimson Wizard, blah blah, he goes on a journey to get stronger, blah blah, Faerie, go to Wendel, blah blah, meets his future wife in front of a cave, beat up crab, werewolf Goku busts you out of prison, blah blah elementals, etc.
You don't technically class change until after you return from Beuca... Unless you're a crazy person (like me.).
So, the golems fight and Bil and Ben fights went fine. Nothing really remarkable. The Ludgar fight was kind of... Weird? He never used Seiryu Death Fist or Suzaku Aerial, only the janky throws I intermittently forget Kevin used to have. He also went down like a little bitch despite having no elemental weakness. Gg, Jobgar, you dumb baby.
Grapplavine wasn't too difficult, either. But, I was getting destroyed by the normal enemies. Oh, yes. The enemies just kinda... They're awful when you play like this. Towards the end of the game, I found myself simply running away from encounters whenever I could. I could not always do this and oh my God this one part might have been the hardest thing I've done in any video game ever. The reason why? Even though you get weapon upgrades even in Pedda you stop getting armor upgrades in Mintas!
Now, this is deceptive. It looks like I can buy and equip this stuff, but I can't. Believe me, I TRIED. And, Weapon/Armor seeds didn't give me jack shit. Yep. I was stuck with shitty, pre-Ludgar armor for THE REST OF THE GAME.
So, that's really what it boiled down to. Normal enemies could clap my character's cheeks like a hearty round of applause. But, bosses?
Total cinch in comparison. All I needed to do was use buffs from the Black Market, the appropriate sabers on Duran and Kevin, and go to town. Since the bosses usually focus on using spells and the occasional physical attack, my dumbasses were rarely in danger of getting killed. Magic damage actually scales with what class you are, from what I can tell. I rarely took heavy damage from any magic spells, yes, Ancient included. And, when the boys got low, Nurse Angela was there to shove candy into everyone's mouths.
All in all, I'd say the hardest Benevodon was probably Lightgazer. I didn't have access to a dark saber item equivalent for it. Oh well. Two uses of the Minor Mallet and a Poto Oil would undo the damage from Prisoner. It was just a war of attrition, but its was PLUCKED and SQUASHED eventually.
When I needed to grind in between Bendovers, I found the safest place to do so was in Gusthall. It was decent XP and enemies died pretty easily.
... But then, I found out something very strange. After you defeat every Benevodon and get the Mana Stone scholar to tell you where the darkstone is, the enemies in Benevodon dungeons just straight up disappear. I did not know this happened. Pop didn't either when I told him this discovery after scouring for safer places to level up before Crystal Desert. Thankfully, I farmed for a set of important items I needed before that happened.
So, with all eight Benenedovers defeated, it was time to tackle the penultimate dungeon.
...
God, Crystal Desert was a friggin' nightmare.

What is Cenforce 100?
Cenforce 100 mg is a medication used to treat impotence in men. It works by boosting the flow of blood to the penile region of the body. This aids men in gaining and maintaining an erection. It's one of a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors.
Researchers accidentally discovered the ability of PDE 5 inhibitors to improve erectile dysfunction in men while examining its potential use for hypertension and angina.
You can take it on an empty stomach or with a meal. You should take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take it approximately an hour before any sexual activity. Although working time varies from person to person, it usually takes between 30 and 1 hour.
Once you are sexually stimulated, this drug will assist you in acquiring an erection. However, this medicine will not help without any sexual stimulation. Do not take this drug more than once a day. If you are using ED tablets for the first time, start with a lower dose, such as 25 mg or 50 mg, and gradually increase to 100 mg of Cenforce.
Cenforce 100 pills are not for females. Taking it alongside nitrate-based medicines can be harmful (often given for chest pain or angina). Avoid taking this medicine if you have serious heart or liver issues, recently had a stroke or heart attack, or have hypotension (low blood pressure). Avoid driving after taking this medicine, as this medicine can make you dizzy. While taking this medicine, avoid consuming alcohol since it raises the risk of adverse effects.
What is the use of Cenforce 100 mg?
This medicine is used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence). Erectile dysfunction is a sexual dysfunction in men who cannot gain an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse.
This drug is a PDE 5 inhibitor that blocks PDE 5 enzymes that cause the penis to go flaccid. It relaxes the blood vessels, improving the blood flow to the penile region.
How does Cenforce 100 mg work?
Cenforce 100 mg blue pill has an active compound called Sildenafil Citrate. Sildenafil treats erectile dysfunction by inhibiting the activity of phosphodiesterase type-5, a substance that is naturally present in the penis.
While engaging in sexual activity, Sildenafil Citrate assists in widening (relaxing) the blood vessels. Consequently, there is an increase in the volume of blood flowing through the penile area of the body. This mechanism assists men in getting and maintaining a solid erection.
Dosage
This medicine's dosage will vary depending on the patient. Follow your doctor's orders or label's instructions. Only the average dosages are included in the following information. If your dose differs, do not alter it unless your doctor instructs you to.
For oral administration (tablets):
Adults up to 65 years of age- Take this drug once a day, 1 hour before sexual intercourse, as a single dosage. The drug can also be administered 30 minutes to 4 hours before sexual activity. If necessary, your doctor may change your dosage by increasing or decreasing the strength of the medicine.
Adults above 65 years of age- Usually, a smaller dose is given to patients above 65 once a day, 1 hour before sexual intercourse. Your doctor may advise you to take Cenforce 100 mg or a weaker version of this medicine based on your health conditions. The drug can also be administered 30 minutes to 4 hours before sexual activity. If necessary, your doctor may alter your dosage.
It is not suggested for children or teens to use.
If you suspect that you might need a more potent dose of Cenforce, you can increase your dose to 120 mg, 130 mg, 150 mg, or 200 mg. However, thoroughly consult with your doctor before increasing the strength of the medicine.
Food and beverage interactions:
Alcohol - Cenforce 100 mg can potentially lower your blood pressure, and alcohol can enhance that effect. Taking alcohol with Sildenafil can be problematic for you, increasing the side effects. Therefore, while taking this medicine, avoid alcohol at all costs.
Grapefruit - If you're using Sildenafil, you should avoid eating or drinking excessive grapefruits or grapefruit juice daily. Grapefruit might raise the levels of sildenafil citrate in your body, causing the medicine to take longer to act. Do not change the quantity of grapefruit products in your diet without consulting your doctor beforehand.
