the people who say Magneto was wrong for sending the EMP around the world somehow never provide any alternative solutions? Personally, I would find an obvious alternative solution a lot more convincing than "Magneto was wrong because this is going to kill people" - when he's responding to a situation where a lot of people had already been killed and were being actively killed.

You just witnessed the massacre on Genosha. You've been held prisoner by these butchers for who knows how long now and witnessed the progress their plans are making and know that powerful people around the world are part of it, including humans that you assumed were your allies. You know that droves of humans are being turned into cyborgs that go after your people, your species - which happens to be a pretty disenfranchised minority group.

And then you manage to escape.

What's your alternative plan from here? Fly around the entire planet yourself and try to catch all the Sentinels by hand and stop them, risking your own life every time which means that you will likely never finish this mission? Assuming you can ever find them all? Go back to the mansion and hold a meeting about it (except if you try that, you will find that the place is on fire and your friends are also fighting for their lives)

Lean back and sit it out? Rationalising to yourself that while you have the means to stop this catastrophe, your means are too drastic - so it would be more ethical to sit back and wait while your people are being targetted (which would be so extremely out of character for Magneto that it would be downright laughable to expect this of him). He also doesn't know Charles is coming back or anything.

Remember, Bastion's first literal reaction to hearing about Magneto's escape was: "Too little, too late." In-universe, Bastion considered the most obvious option Magneto has now and he himself confirmed that they would be inefficient to stop him.

I just think that in the wake of extreme trauma, extremely limited time and resources, a foe that outnumbers and overpowers you, no executive or legal authority to appeal to (in fact, governments are in on it) - yeah, turning off the electricity to take down the zombie murder cyborgs is pretty understandable from my point of view. And it definitely is a choice I wouldn't want to make - a choice no one would want to make. And one that Magneto will likely be vilified for - but he still did it. Because that's what he always does and because he's used to people hating him for actual doing something.

X-MEN #7 From The Ashes

Possibly the biggest downside to the circular, repetitive nature of X-Men comics is that real life is awful enough. Jettisoning the hope of the Krakoan age for the misery porn of From The Ashes feels kinda callous and depressing in a world where there are multiple ongoing genocides and the USA just said yes to fascism again. Nevertheless, join me in some light escapism - a little Magneto goes a long way. Spoilers for X-Men #7.

Running throughout this issue is Magneto's flashback to The Iron Night. The 'this is Logan behaviour' exchange from the previews has been all over my dash and it's great to get more of this dynamic. It's fantastic to see someone in universe say it out loud - Logan is a whiny little bitch, often a hypocrite, and can be blind to his immortality privilege. Scott knows that better than anyone - his wife's boyfriend throws a tanty like no other. They love him, but it's another reason why he's not the best Wolverine. I hope 'Logan behaviour' sticks around in the fandom.

I appreciate the informal nature of the Piper discussion. For one, you don't want to scare the kid or make her feel unwelcome. Idie said that she 'couldn't wait for you (Cyclops) and Magneto' re: Idie - having Psylocke be the one to spell it out for her is effective. The X-Men IS a team and the stakes are incredibly high. Besides, as Beast said in my first screenshot they have a Cerebro. This test could have been done from afar without the risk, and it's implied that it was.

I'm enjoying seeing Idie behaving compassionately, but it looks like she's got some serious anger and mistrust of authority (both justified) from Krakoa. It's great she's getting this kind of character focus and I hope it's followed up on. So many threads and beats have been setup that are likely to be disrupted by the Raid on Graymalkin event kicking off next week, but I'll reserve my judgement on that for when this first arc is concluded.

Gotta love Max and Scott's friendship being shown as they drink crappy beers and bask in Magneto rhetoric. I don't want to question the expert, but is this sentinel Wild or wild? It's clearly not an ORCHIS Iron Man model, but Wild Sentinel has a very specific meaning.

Okay, clearly Wild. It's not attacking either of them, though. Kind of Cyclops to spell out the Star Trek Borg adaptive schtick they've got going on. This is the action scene of the issue, the mandated violence.

I don't mean that entirely pejoratively either. I'm just as susceptible to the Magneto and Cyclops power fantasy as the next person, though it's a bit of a dirty trick to wait until issue 7 to show it.

So we see the moment Mags' powers start to shit the bed, right after a Wild Sentinel attack. I'd be suspecting Cassandra Nova's involvement just off these two data points tbh. Which idiot resurrected her anyway?

R-LDS sounds like horse shit to me. Scott says 'we don't know that for sure' so how does this speculative condition have an acronym already? Mags is speaking as if it's a fact, but he doesn't even have the same body The Five resurrected. Maybe he has Umari-Key-Waiting Room-Brashear Portal Syndrome. Obviously he's scared but this feels like an idiot ball moment, and a cynical jab at Krakoa. The Five was something they got right, even with Sinister in the mix. The implications would be insane. 16 million Genoshans were resurrected, 250k Krakoans (give or take), a whole bunch of vulnerable human children via The Phoenix Foundation, Captain America, and 1000 fucking years of Sinisterized clones etc that had nothing of the sort.

No, there's way too many data points that apply to Magneto alone to make seriously considering The Five's resurrections as the source of patient zero's malady. It would be scientifically irresponsible to get to the point of naming it and then an acronym for that. Mags is good enough at science to know this, and Beast is too. I'm no scientist, but it manifested during a fight with a Wild Sentinel. I assume they have better resources than the Marvel wiki I'm using, but that robot/Cassandra Nova is my prime suspect - the lady they know for certain to be involved in ongoing genetic fuckery - activating X-Genes. Though not Piper Cobb...

Or yes Piper Cobb? Smash cut cliffhangers aside, this would be a great time to retcon Homo Sapiens Superior right the fuck out of existence. It's never made sense, and not just the 'Superior' part. Again, I'm not a scientist but I'm certain that's not how phylogeny works. They're mutated humans, but I don't live in 616 which canonically operates on impossible physics, so idk. My fingers are crossed but my expectations are nil.

Okay, we'd known from solicits that Beast would be getting beat down in captivity at Graymalkin. I had speculated he'd give himself up to get inside, but the ol' bag over the head works too. I dig his outfit.

X-Men #7 is worth reading IMO, and it's one of the better ones based off Magneto content alone. Last issue I wrote that the formula was becoming easier to spot, and I stand by that. A handful of character moments, some new information about one of the ongoing mysteries but it piles more questions on top of half answers and speculation. For example, we get to see Scott and Max fight a sentinel and be friends. There's new information there but a LOT more questions. The characters are at the point of absurd speculation which raises tension but doesn't make them look very competent. To kick off the event 'Raid on Graymalkin' they went with a final page bag over the head instead of any choice and comic book events notoriously derail everything so friends can argue and punch each other.

All that said, it's only *just* acceptable in my opinion - and that's the best I can say for the rest of the line too. We know that there's been ongoing issues with writers simply not knowing major Krakoan plot points, though they probably have the excuse that they were writing before FOTHOX/ROTPOX ended. Surely there's someone in charge of overseeing all this, like Hickman was as Head of X. *Looks at the credits* Tom Brevoort - Conductor of X... That's a fancy way to say 'line editor/hatchet man.' I'll stop there and save it for the From The Ashes piece I'm doing, but spoilers: I'm not impressed with how this guy keeps failing upwards.

It's just so icky to me that Rogueneto is even a ship in '97 considering that:

1) The age difference is AT LEAST uncomfortable, and I'm not saying that age gap couples are wrong, definitely not. But 40 years with one of them being in her 20s is just... ewhhh.

2) Rogue stated before that she cared for Gambit more. Even while thinking Magneto was dead, all she thought about was Remy. She also never once acted like she knew Mags on a personal level, though that could be viewed as her not wanting others to know of the possible past relationship.

3) Correct me if I'm wrong here, but Rogue gets her powers at 13 years old ("When she was thirteen years old, she put her first boyfriend Cody in a coma" - Quote from wiki fandom) and then when her father disowns her, she is adopted by Mystique and joins the brotherhood. ("Rogue joined the Brotherhood of Mutants" - Quote from wiki fandom) Who founded and led the brotherhood? MAGNETO. ("Team founder and original leader" - Quote from wikipedia) And maybe I'm just overthinking it, but as team leader, he 99% knew every member who joined, meaning that in some fucked up way Mags knew Rogue since she was 13. And if that ain't grooming then I'm a fucking chair. And even if she was 18 when she joined, even if she was 18 when they met. It's still extremely uncomfortable. He was still a man in his 50s who got into a relationship with a barely adult girl just because she was desperate for some skin to skin. And honestly this really destroys my liking for him which is sad because otherwise he is one of the best characters.

And if you like the ship, there is technically nothing wrong with that since they're both adults, I guess. But that doesn't change the fact that personally I consider it ✨️horrible✨️

Charles 100% for sure has a special calendar just for marking when he’s gonna meet up with Erik. I bet when he was a bit younger he kept it private and like hidden in his desk drawer, and then at some point over the years he just went “fuck it” and it’s hanging on the wall now.

the students hold bets on what it means. Raven, when she’s at the mansion will sometimes mess with them to mislead them in the wrong direction, which starts all these crazy rumors about Charles. He’s not amused.

Magneto does not tell a soul (though raven knows because that’s her bestie and her brother she can see right through both of them) and all of the brotherhood is too terrified of him to ask. Sometimes new, young recruits who aren’t scared of him yet will try to find out…. It never goes well for them……

ngl he probably has a special Charles Xavier calendar for tracking their meetings. Pros of his situationship being kinda famous: stuff on etsy. 😂 honestly if I’m saying that Charles might have one for him too. But he can’t hang it on the wall at the school so who knows.

They always have very nice chess matches, and if there’s time they might get like idk sandwiches while they’re both out (I doubt either of them have much time for going out to eat in their day to day lives). They have an active rule not to argue with each other. It doesn’t work, but it keeps them from descending into screaming matches, because then they couldn’t say “I’m not raising my voice, this isn’t an argument” 😒 dramatic. 😂😂😂

At this point Romy is a fetish.

Nothing sweet or romantic about their relationship. It’s just petty for the sake of being petty to keep them together after all the years of trauma, humiliation and backstabbing. At no point in canon 616 timeline have they been good for each other and somehow the romy writers emphasis that more than the ones who hate either of the pair. They’ve been stripped of everything that made them unique and lovable to fans to beat people to death with this ship that couldn’t be clearer as the very definition of unhealthy relationships. Their best writing was when they were done with each other and it was pretty respectfully done considering how it ended during the mutant team avengers issue. You cannot build a healthy relationship without trust or respect, neither of which has been genuinely present in any interaction between Rogue and Gambit. They are the kind of relationship you have early on in your life, when everything is in upheaval and you throw yourself into something just to forget the pain and heartache you’re going through only to find you’ve dug yourself into a deeper hole of misery and despair. It’s meant to end. It’s supposed to be learning and letting go so you can blossom into something better and healthier. Marrying them was cheap and hollow like all of the writing for the pair has been from the very beginning.

Another thing that is really tiresome is the ship obsessives calling other fans and writers groomers and such when that part of their ship is doing good elsewhere. Rogue has NEVER been groomed by Magneto, look up the definition before spouting nonsense. He was never her mentor/teacher or held an authoritative position over Rogue and she he always been an adult when they are together, there is significant age gap yes, that doesn’t instantly make it grooming. I don’t even ship them, I’m hardcore Rogue should be a lesbian but it’s so insulting to read when the actual abusive ship is the one you are all going psychotic over. Rogue and Gambit have done nothing but emotionally, mentally and at times physically abused one another. No genuine communication, no respect for boundaries, pure jealousy and lust. Their canon drama is too prominent to pretend they work and it’s an insult to the characters to undermine their struggles to make them a goofy mess. It’s not even fanon. Fanon is based on canon content, you are all living in ao3 world for romy. The ship fans have monopolised the characters and made them into a fanfiction nightmare in the comics and the fandom space for so long it’s burnout to even try and have an opinion on either character because you get jumped on by a bunch of rabid animals who are loud and wrong for no good reason. Reducing them to a sex trope is unusual behaviour and the way that part of the fandom treats the characters is a disgrace. I hope x-office grows a spine and switches it up to give these characters their personalities and individuality back so we can have some decent writing for them again.

Every time I see someone say that Remy was a terrible man whore in TAS and so he has no right to feel hurt when Rogue nearly leaves him in '97 I'm like... when? With whom?

Like?? There was that one time that he almost got married, but he was under duress. Not only was Bella Donna threatening to kill his brother, she put some control ring on him. That's an abusive situation! The only other case I think you could argue (and you would be wrong to) is that one time? On Asteroid M? When Rogue came in to save Gambit and said "of course you'd be running with another woman!" because... he was literally running down a hall with Amelia because they had teamed up to take down Cortez. Nothing romantic there. Rogue was teasing.

Am I just stupid? Am I just bad at reading flirtation? Because, other than Rogue, he doesn't flirt much with other women. I mean... he and Logan have some homoerotic back-and-forths. Is that it? Is Wolverine the Other Woman?

Okay, I just remembered: he did flirt once with a shopkeeper in the first episode, so I suppose he has had more explicitly flirtatious interactions, and I just didn't note them because they never had plot relevance, but is that any different from Rogue playfully flirting with other men? 'Cuz she does! She flirts a lot, but it's not meant to be taken seriously. Rogue just has a flirtatious personality, as does Remy.

I think a few instances of flirting with other people from a couple who both have flirtatious personalities is NOT on the same level as Rogue considering leaving Remy to be Magneto's queen. I understand why she considered it! I fully understand the motivation behind it! I hold no grudge against her! ...I did cheer when she ultimately decided not to.

Some playful flirting that's not meant to go anywhere isn't the same as straight-up leaving. Which Rogue has done once before! In Love In Vain, the Brood uses her childhood sweetheart to lure her in. She wanted to run away with Cody in that episode! Her reason? She tells Remy when he's trying to take her on a date to cheer her up that even a swamp rat deserves a girl he can kiss.

I'm not saying Rogue nearly leaving twice makes her a bad person. She's had a shitty past, and it's easier to fall in with people from that past than to let herself be happy with a new man who is open and honest (and kinda obnoxious) about how head-over-heels he is for her. The vilification of Rogue by some people in the fandom is really nauseating and clearly motivated by misogyny, but the response to it being "actually Gambit is a terrible two-timing whore, so good riddance" is no better. You're acting the damn same.

And like the same people who think Gambit is a terrible partner to Rogue also say "oh, Rogue and Gambit were NEVER together, so Rogue wasn't "cheating" with Magneto" at varying degrees like pointing out they were never Official (true) to claiming Rogue never reciprocated Gambit's feelings (blatantly false)... then how are you saying Gambit is a cheater?

I just think about this because something that has been a breath of fresh air for me about this ship that they haven't had a lot of infidelity scares? It would be such easy drama to have Remy flirt with someone else and Rogue beat the shit out of him for it, but that never happened in TAS or '97. So, I don't understand why people insist that is their dynamic.

If anyone tries to cite comic instances - leave. That obviously does not apply here, do not be purposely obtuse.

During a round of late night thinking, I encountered an intriguing idea about Deathbit and how we can play with it. (I blame Woodkid - To Ashes and Blood for making me think at all) (Arcane why do you do this to us writers)

TLDR: Gambit is not brainwashed and is working for Apocalypse willingly.

We all know about the "came back wrong" idea, it being the main one in the fandom as I see it right now - after an unreasonable amount of torture from Apocalypse because of course there's torture like the boy hasn't suffered enough already (HE BURNED ALIVE). But you know, what would've been even more interesting?

If he came back right.

With all his smiles and accent and powers - just boosted - and he still calls X-men his "amis" and laughs like it's just one big training session in the Danger Room and like his hair isn't white and like his skin isn't ashy gray and like there's no Apocalypse who gives him orders. Moreover, he reacts to those orders with another round of wits and jokes - like it's no ancient and probably the most powerful mutant in history but just Scott or Chuck. And when shit hits the fan and he has to kill someone, X-men see that he doesn't want to but he does go for the kill. They stop him and it looks like he let himself be stopped but then he knocks them out and flees.

And he still wears his smile like it's the only mask he has and there are tears in his eyes and they see it's HIM it's GAMBIT and they can't understand why doesn't he just stop completely and go with them and let them help.

And for a while they think that he's brainwashed or mind controlled but it's painfully obvious he isn't and X-men just don't know what to do. They think maybe it's some kind of sick trick of his, maybe it's his revenge for letting him die, for not preventing Genosha or accepting Magneto into the team (he jokes about that fuck up of theirs during fights more than once) or something else.

And when the team inevitably get him cornered and maybe even collared, he panics. Not because they might hurt or kill him - and they actually might, at this point Death/Gambit caused a pretty big amount of injuries, but none of them were more than they could handle and that alone is suspicious - and they DEMAND to explain what's happening, he's borderline having a panic attack and he pleads to let him go. It's out of character for him more than they can think and they press further and further until he screams

"REMY TRY TO PROTECT YOU!"

at the top of his lungs and he's scared and everyone are dead sure he's not scared of them.

And they ask again (probably Storm), this time calmer, trying to see if Gambit is even aware of where he is and what is happening - and he is. He's damn sure of where he is and what he's doing and he hates himself for it, but

"it be de only way t' keep him away from you."

And he looks up at them and tells them that he made a deal with a Devil. As long as Remy serve him - loyally, consciously, fully understanding what is wanted from him - Apocalypse won't touch the X-men. Unless they bother him too much, that is. He tells them that Apocalypse wanted to get his hands on Storm and Wolverine and Rogue and for some reason he decided to ressurect Gambit first and Remy couldn't let his friends and loved ones become Apocalypse's pawns. And Remy's been doing his best to keep them occupied so that they'd not meet with his 'master' as well as keeping tabs on Apocalypse's work at the same time. He had no chance to do anything with it because he was scared about what his interference may cause. And Death is afraid of Apocalypse shitless. Yet he keeps working for him - "it's not de first time Remy sold his soul. Der's nothing to sell anymore. Just let him do this for you so you don't have to."

We know that when Gambit died, he didn't see his sacrifice as anything heroic. He never called himself a hero - at least being serious - and that he full on believed he was the worst amongst X-men (well before Erik showed up). And this would be him bargaining himself again.

There is actually so much intresting dialogues and scenes and the sheer confusion and dramedy is amazing. Let me know if you have any thoughts on that (comments or smth).

well, since watching xmen 97 i have been completly in love with rogneto, and even went to read the comics to know more about them and their relationship and what had lead them towards the end so she actually end up marrying another guy, and dont get me wrong, i do enjoy watching gambit and think he's a funny character, cool powers and memorable lines, but i do not like to see him with rogue, but ive came to be cool with this fact since he makes her happy.

ever since watched EP. 5 i had the thought that he was somehow ""childish"" on what he said to rogue when she taught him about her previous relationship, and at first, i did get it, he was hurt, hurt to see she choosing somebody else. choosing someone he thought was no good (in all ways possible) and most important, choosing someone who could give her what he could not.

I mean, he's not wrong, indeed, there are some things deeper than skin, everyone knows that, but not this, not for her. I think, love is so much more than sex, but sex is also a part of love. You can say you love someone without ever have touched them, but sometimes, some moments, when you're so in love you wish to... kiss them. To hold their hands, to hug them, to strip them out of their clothes and touch them bare, kind of touch so intimate, so deep, to bring happiness and pleasure to the other and get yours from it. Its not the thought "someone has their needs", we can live without sex, its okay, but sometimes you wish more, and you are not wrong for dreaming big. Rogue has the right to dream big, to love, to touch, to give herself to someone and be loved, touched, desired. She has the right to have dirty fantasies and even, maybe, dream of having children of her own.

It is unfair to her to remind her what she alredy knows. She never forgot her love for gambit, for the thing deeper than her skin, but with that she was also reminded that even with happy moments she couldn't kiss him desperatly without bringing him pain. It is not causing herself pain that scares her, but hurting someone she loves the most. And we gotta agree that he saying that to her was probaply the most unfair thing someone could have ever said to another. Gambit was wrong, and unfair. And i do think he was childish in this moment, even though he was also hurt.

With saying this to her, I think he scared her, wronged her for choosing herself, her dreams and needs over love. Im not saying "she should have choose sex over love", because I know her moment with Erik was long gone, and probably wasnt so deep as the present one with gambit, but i do know she loved Erik, as he was wholeheartly given to her. There was just so more complex things between rogneto than i could say right now, but the point is: she has the right of being loved, and choosing this for her, even if it isnt with somebody we would like to.

She has the right of choosing herself and not being called selfish for that, because she is not wrong. She cannot be wrong in this matter, its her life we are talking about. We know how much of a hell her powers are to her, so, how can you blame her for choosing a path that wrong bring her or the ones she loves pain??

I do know that in the comics she learns how to control her powers and so many more things, but im talking about EP. 5, that little moment when everything seemed so... hard to go thru. Do not wrong my girl, she deserves to be happy and dont even try saying shit about Erik to favor your r*my, because Magneto may has done plenty wrong things in his life, but he also loved her more than he could put into words. He loves her in every universe, even if she does not choose him.

(not to forget the difference between their reaction on being rejected, but this is a matter for another time)

1, 9 and 10 for your ask game please!

1) the character everyone gets wrong

I'd go with Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, and I know that's cheating because that's two, but in my defence, the ways in which people get them wrong independently absolutely inform the ways they get the other wrong to.

Janet is a lot more proactive in her relationship with Hank than people give her credit for, and was a much bigger reason of why their relationship failed than people also give her credit for. There's a push to rewrite history and make her a very flat victim, and I can see why, but it's frustrating because I think it's a lot more interesting that Janet repeatedly and purposefully ignored multiple warning signs that Hank's health was imperiled simply because she held on to a belief that love could overcome anything, including a man's undiagnosed and unmedicated schizophrenia. It is JANET who makes the decision to marry. She is essentially the one who proposed, after Hank–hallucinating as Yellowjacket and genuinely thinks he is his own murderer–kidnaps her, then briefly becomes lucid and backs off.

Genuinely, right. Genuinely. I don't think the Hank we see here, violently hallucinating, thinking he murdered himself and having a totally different persona and attitude, was in a position to give meaningful consent! I think it's very clear this is a man a danger to himself and to other people, who was not in the right frame of mind to agree to marriage, but people prefer to write Janet as a very basic victim, which I think is a massive disservice to the actually really nuanced way her relationship with Hank was sometimes written, where Hank was clearly unwell and Janet knew it but thought it was an issue that could be fixed with holiday's and sex and Avenging and not a more fundamental psychological one, and that's a far more interesting story to me.

9) worst part of canon

Lotta things I can put here. I think at the moment I am most frustrated by "Krakoa had no people on it before mutants fine, therefore it isn't an ethnostate and it's totally cool and awesome", because the lie of "there were no people here before us!" has been used time and time again throughout history to justify genocide, oppression, violence and colonialism, and I do not think it is the place of the white Americans in charge of writing Krakoa to essentially legitimise those lies because they didn't want to write Magneto or Nightcrawler or Wolverine and company to be out and out colonisers. If you are writing this kind of project, I think you should have the dignity to commit to it.

On opposite ends of the anti-Romy spectrum but as a Gambit fan I too am routing for Rogneto for y’all. Gambit & Rogue do not match and for all actual fans of the comics etc we need that cr*p over with asap. I think it’s silly that people babygirl Rogue when it comes to Erik, she’s a grown ass woman not a child & as a Gambit fan I can’t stand the way his history has been forgotten for Romy that was never actually meant to be a thing. {They were killing him off which is a crime for me but the way he’s written these days might not be such a bad thing} Gambit has a wife already and Rogue was more interesting when they weren’t involved.

Hi anon. Thank you so much for your wonderful message. It means a lot. And yes, I agree, X-Men fandom treats Rogue like some fragile little baby when it comes to Magneto. (But Storm, who is not that much older than Rogue, is ok to ship him with. Nothing against Erik/Ororo shippers. They did nothing wrong. My issue is with the certain type of R*my shippers who choose to be harassing hypocrites instead of being civil and accepting that everyone has different tastes.)

As for Gambit and Gambit shipping, I'll admit he isn't my top five favorite character but I do enjoy his stuff away from Rogue, like his team-up with X-Factor and the Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon. I think Gambit in the recent comics has been reduced to cat-owner and Rogue's himbo husband; I much prefer when he had his sneaky smarts and when he's allowed to explore other relationships outside of Rogue and vice versa for her. Also, like you kinda reminded me, Gambit has had other badass love interests besides Rogue: Bella Donna, Frenzy, Lila Cheney, Storm, Dr. Reyes, etc. Like how Rogue fans deserve to ship other ships besides R*my, I think Gambit fans deserve to be able to ship Gambit with other people besides Rogue without receiving fan harassment.

As for Rogueneto and the new Savage Land comic, I'm not expecting the ship to surpass R*my in popularity, but popularity is not why I ship a ship; I just choose to ship what is personally the most interesting to me. But I am glad that Tim Seeley's series is gaining popularity, especially after the ridiculous harassment he received on social media for writing material for a so-called "Predator" ship. I also think it's cool that the new comic and the '97 cartoon has created new Rogueneto shippers and made older ones braver. I also think with the advancement in social media, more people in the general X-Men fandom are realizing the hypocrisy of some of the less kind R*my shippers. And that's awesome on its own because it means other Gambit and Rogue fans don't have to feel the pressure to ship R*my in order to be a "real" fans of the characters, future comic and television writers included.

A few zine's I've personally seen also had money just paying the contributors, though I've only seen that one the once. The 'zine' part of fanzine is derived from Magazine; which is a printed or digital publication containing articles, stories, and / or illustrations. and the 'fan' part of fanzine is taken from 'fandom', which we all know that one; it's my favorite part of any media!

Is Shipping Allowed?

Shipping will be allowed, but in moderation. The focus will primarily be on canon relationships, with other ships allowed at moderator discretion. We understand that what is percieved as canon can vary dependent on the source, which is why we're offering leeway in regards to shipping.

Collaborations

Collaborations involve two people working together to make one or two final products. Collaborators can sign up together, or can meet in the server and decide to work together on their chosen pieces. If there are any specific questions, feel free to send in an Ask or message us!
