Any fun developments in householdarc au?
What do other teams think of them having a caretaker? What do they think of Jaune?
Has Jaune made any friends at Beacon?
"So." Weiss pointed at the screen in front of her, "I was doing research on the schools forums. And apparently there was a topic about our caretaker." She muttered, being ever the nosy one, always looking to make new contacts, and more connections, she had gone out of her way to advertise assistances she could provided... only to find out, that apparently Jaune was the talk of the town, or well school.
"Really? That's... odd, why would they talk about Jaune?" Pyrrha, wasn't exactly interested in technology, beyond what it could do for her huntress career at least... so she wasn't exactly an expert when it came to finding information on the schools website.
"Well, apparently, its more of a rant thread? Or a discussion on why we even have someone assisting us, when others don't." Weiss couldn't exactly put it into words, "It started as that, anyways... but then it just came down to their opinions of him, and some of them are a little... very grotesque."
She pulled away from the screen, as two pairs of green eyes, and two pairs, including her own, of blue eyes scanned the computer.
"What... that's..." May was baffled, her one good eye blinking as she stared at a couple of lines that caught her attention.
CardnRIz: Bet he sniffs their clothing, probably a HUGE pervert.
BerretQNE: Projecting much? He's alright, though those kids are lucky, wish I had someone to do all my chores for me, must be nice.
Bunny4U: Coco... you don't do any of the chores as it is... he's alright, I think? Has anyone actually seen him much around campus?
PinknSweet: OH OH I have! Rennie and I were in the cafeteria for third lunch, and he was there taking notes from the cafe ladies and checking ingredients! Rennie does that ALL The time! So they started doing it together.
Yangnbang: Think he's shagging any of em? Wonder if the Ice Queen's putting out~ Though, considering how tiny their group is, he probably prefers the big and tall type. Both have loosened up lately, so maybe they're getting some dick.
cookieLuvaer: EEWW Yang! That's disgusting! And I dunno. Seems kind of weird to have someone always working for you.
BacknBlack: Hmm... a love triangle... no no! A love pentagon, all from different social backgrounds... I can see it. Perhaps there is plenty of sneaking behind the others back in this case.
BerretQNE: My money's on one of the silent short stacks. Bet they get extra freaky-
"Okay, I think that's enough Weiss!" Jessica quickly used her semblance to press the power button- "Hey!"- It was clear to Jess, that things were getting out of hand, "That was... all very vulgar. And wrong."
She shuffled around nervously, while May said nothing, her cheeks simply flushed red. Her eye darting back and forth in a spout of confusion and embarrassment.
"Right... so, I think the problem is, that he doesn't talk to anyone... we have to get him to make friends. Or these rumors are going to keep getting worse."
Pyrrha nodded, yes... friends. That was something she needed to do as well, but she supposed Weiss was right. "But he doesn't... really go out much, does he? I think he's friends with Ren from RRBY... But that's it."
Weiss chewed upon her bottom lip, unsure of even that. Not like she'd know how to make friends...
Actually, all four of them were bad at it, now that they thought about it.

Oh, hello
The Sibyl of Tydavnet was supposedly back home, and we finally have something to speculate upon, after a week-end with no news from both of Them (go figure). So much so that it's been very, very quiet in here:

This is, of course, a latergram, When being the important question, here. I have to say I was a bit surprised, after two hours of research (and cooking, but that is a separate story).
Let's unpack:
From 1974 to 2023, the Monaghan County Museum has been open and free to visit. Until 1981, in the old Courthouse building of Monaghan Town, then temporarily hosted by the Christian Brothers Secondary School, and since 1986 in this building on Hill Street:

I am not inventing anything, this info comes straight from their official website:

On May 18th, 2023 (on International Museum Day), the venue was closed and the collections were planned to be moved at the new Monaghan Peace Campus:

The Peace Campus is a very important local initiative, funded by the City Council, the Irish Department of Rural and Community Development and the EU, via the Irish SEUPB (Special EU Programs Body - ironically, the counterpart of my new job, starting next Friday, LOL). It was inaugurated on May 10, 2024:

Where was C, in this clip, posted today and suggesting a recent trip to Ireland?

In the old building, of course, exactly as it was on May 18, 2023:

Apparently taken on an extensive private tour that included the storage area, where this pic was taken:

How do I know it? I simply combed the meager social media accounts of the Museum, that's all. See and compare for yourself, with this screenshot of the moving operations, from the old Hill Street to the new premises (posted on Facebook, on June 14th, 2024, but very likely shot slightly before):

In April 2023, the new Peace Campus looked roughly like this. There is no way that clip would have been shot there. Not then...

...and not later, because the new display in the new venue looks totally different:

And it was completed around May 10th 2024, when this picture was taken, separately from the rest of the released info:

The pic was taken by Laura Hogan, the North East Correspondent for RTE News, a subsidiary of the Irish public TV and Radio broadcasting company:

But perhaps even more interestingly, the Museum shot several clips of people featured, like C, in the new inaugural exhibition. Such as this guy, back in June 2023, on their old premises:

Ardal O'Hanlon, Irish stand-up comedian and actor, based in Ireland and London:

This is a very, very, VERY late latergram. My best guess would be anytime between May 2023 and most probably around June 2023. Simply because it would be logical that the clip shooting be completed with all the people involved at the same time, for logistical reasons, and before the packing of the exhibits would have started in earnest.
As always, I could be wrong. As always, people will bitch around, especially the divas and those who know strictly nothing. But I'll be damned if C were in Ireland anytime near this last week-end!

Gavv Episode 19 Production Blog
i can’t believe i fucking called it
this one might have been rushed, please point out anything if it looks weird
TOKU TRANSLATION MASTERPOST HERE
taken from this website
Looking at the Next Episode
Lage9/Vram’s true motive has been explained in episode 19. I also wrote this last episode, but the kindness of Eitoku, playing his Granute form, showed itself in the flashback scene. He’s changed the character to so much… We’ll continue to learn about Vram. Next time, have Shoma’s words reached him? They break into the Granute world and the Dark Snack factory.
“Gavv’ began its first episode with Shoma coming from the Granute world to the human world. Remember the space with a lot of doors? “If we’re going to do an infiltration, we have to have Director Sugihara who directed the pilot do it!” It’s a long-awaited Teruaki Sugihara episode. We needed to figure out a way to show the unknown world of Granutes while also having action. So, sorry it took so long! A new pink Vram form will be seen. What kind of attacks does he do when he changes forms? What changes? Action Director Fujita and Director Sugihara both focused on this and made it explosive.
While episode 20 takes many breaks, it also has a lot of starts. I’d definitely like you to watch it in real time.
(Written by Naomi Takebe)
The Episode in Short
Thank you for watching episode 19! Director Sugihara has already made his fourth round. And next week they’ll finally break into the factory! The big developments will continue.

He’s being instructed how to take his helmet off in a cool way. Hidekazu Chinen, playing Shoma, had a hero-like expression on his face. (He’s dead-set…)
Rushing Into Suga’s Laboratory!
The freelance writer Mr. Karakida has took a hit in the last scene and lost consciousness into the next week several times now.

Gavv: (Oh no, it’s already 9:27? This can’t keep happening…!
It’s great that humans can even just fight and survive, even when already strong Granutes are transforming and giving them a beating. I want to celebrate his guts and toughness.
Gavv managed to come in and save Hanto from Vram’s follow-up attack, and carried Hanto away with the Gochizos’ help. For the first time, Shoma enters the laboratory of our good acquaintance, Suga!

Shoma first encountered him in the early stages (he also silently kidnapped Gochizos!), but this is the first time he’s heard about Suga being a Granute researcher and having created Valen.
Shoma investigates someone who doesn’t know what or how much he knows. Meanwhile, Suga has a domineering and peculiar way of speaking where he can destroy the other person’s rhythm while still being clever and cool. I was utterly amazed at how Shintaro Asanuma, who plays the role, completely showed off all of his various skills, large and small. Last time the aloof Lage9 was in here, he livened up the small laboratory (Laughs).
This episode, when he touches Shoma’s shoulder, it feels like there was some sort of disturbing movement of the fingertips… surely it was nothing, right?

Hanto’s feeling better already!
A Floating Jellyfish and a Red Gavv
Lage9 is choosing his next hunting ground.

Oh, that’s a good place to look.
At the script meeting, otherwise known as the human world invasion meeting, we decided “let’s have it be a university this time!”, but he had to walk around the campus until he reached the lecture hall, and it was difficult to do so while wearing conspicuous black work clothes (work clothes?!)… so we made up a setting for a school with many fashionable students that are learning about clothing.
(He was just wearing that vest, so he should go in that outfit! But we couldn’t keep that promise. He might be thinking, “I was wearing these clothes when Lango ordered me to work!”. He’s very conscientious.)

Lage9 looks glad that he managed to safely enter without being seen.
Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club members participated as extras during filming. While there’s still some information we can’t share, we’re very sorry for injecting you with Wonder Happiness poison!

[fun fact: i think someone here leaked the existence of vram]
I'd like to take a director's cut division course…
And now Shoma marches in, and a competition filled with tension unravels.

Chinen was a little bit nervous before doing this scene with a lot of extras, and this time, the movement before transforming was a challenge for him! He was blown away, stuck in a chair, and did his best to complete the scene with so many eyes on him!
This is the scene where Lage9 (thinking it was a belt!) tries to rip Shoma’s Gavv off of his stomach.

Ah— visitors, please don’t grab each other there! (Laughs).
This scene where Chinen’s body is held up was actually filmed going up and down. The sequence was made by Eitoku, Chinen, and the people hanging him up working together in harmony.
He was also sliding, running and falling, being raised up…

The tension of not being able to make many attempts at a cut with a lot of tricks was seriously felt in the situation.

Even in the confrontation after the transformation, the colors of Director Sugihara and Action Director Fujita are on full display, as they use vertical space and letters as shields! The action is full of energy.
Also, judging by Lage9’s reaction, it seems like Shoma’s Gavv is such a different kind of Gavv that Granutes can’t recognize it as one either. Every time Shoma’s called “Red Gavv”, he becomes more alienated… that must be horrible…
The Wavering Pudding’s Bittersweet Memories
The person who transforms into Kamen Rider Vram. He’s called Lage9, but that was just his codename for the job. His real name is “Rakia Amarga”. There are many characters in Gavv who have characters for different tastes in their names [Karakida, Amane, Shioya, and Suga have kanji meaning spicy, sweet, salty, and sour respectively]. Amarga means “bitter taste” [Spanish word for bitter].

And he had a brother named Comel. His suit actor is Mutsumi Igarashi, and he is voiced by Kazuomi Yamamoto. He exudes cuteness even in the photograph. And the voice is cute too! And kind!

An obedient subordinate caring for his senior A loving younger brother who is also using an electric fan (Laughs) [?]
The dull Rakia was once an ordinary person. Eitoku’s excellent acting was full of warmth. He speaks with such a kind voice towards his cute brother?! How cunning… It’s one of the true pleasures of tokusatsu to make one character with depth from the performances of two people.
Oh, also, “Start Up!! Kamen Rider Vram”, containing an interview with the two people portraying Vram and a recording of Kohei Shoji’s first day on the set, is now available on Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club! It’s full of explosive conversations about the approach they take to the role and Vram’s unique charm, so you have to check it out. Eitoku and Shoji also talk in the audio commentary for episode 18, so don’t miss out on that, either!

The bread of the Granute world looks rock hard (Laughs)
The life of the once cute and kind Comel has gone horribly wrong, and the only clue to who took his life are the words “Dark Snacks”.

Rakia followed that clue and finally arrived at the Stomach Company. However, as if it were a streamlined process of part-time employment, he is simply being put along the same route that Comel seems to have followed. The fact that he was given the power of a Kamen Rider is a treatment that no other Granute has received, but it also seems to be binding, doesn't it? There is no certainty that he’ll find the truth by carrying out either Lango’s work or the secret agreement with Nyelv, and perhaps it is his own current situation that he finds to be the worst.
And, in the last half of episode 19, his past and his current emotions suddenly come to light, and it’s mostly acted out by Eitoku. Every scene, he would act really considerately from the program (on-set rehearsal) and afterwards.

Chinen responds with an enthusiastic performance brimming with soul, and his words seem to have reached Rakia’s heart.
And then Eitoku passes the baton back to Shoji. He has a dependability that Eitoku can trust him to do it a certain way, grasping a good sense of distance that the role of Rakia has.

He watches over Chinen on the set, and occasionally supports him by giving good advice.
Director Sugihara saw a chance for a moment of brotherhood in this exchange, and had a moment where Rakia sees Shoma as Comel for a brief second in the scene.

Now, what’ll you do, wavering pudding (this was actually written in the script before the name Vram was decided on, haha)?

Many people assume federal civil-rights scrutiny of antisemitism at Harvard is a recent, partisan development.
Headlines shout about President “Trump’s War on Harvard,” “Trump’s Harvard Vendetta” and “His Harvard Hate Campaign.”
In fact, such oversight is required by law and has been enforced consistently by both Republican and Democratic administrations, including the last one.
The Biden team raised concerns that Harvard’s response to antisemitic-harassment complaints didn’t fully comply with the Civil Rights Act’s Title VI — with some echoing those found in the Trump administration’s April 11 demand letter.
Harvard quietly entered into a voluntary resolution agreement with the Biden Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights Jan. 17, days before the university settled two lawsuits with Jewish students — and days before Trump re-entered the White House.
I’ve been working directly with Jewish Harvard students since the campus exploded in October 2023, so these findings did not surprise me.
I witnessed firsthand the distress and frustration many experienced and watched closely as the university failed to respond effectively.
In one glaring example, two students charged with assault and battery of a Jewish student during an Oct. 18, 2023, anti-Israel campus protest weren’t disciplined. Instead, Harvard rewarded them.
The Harvard Law Review gave Ibrahim Bharmal a $65,000 fellowship.
Bharmal, featured on the law school’s admissions website, will spend his fellowship at California’s chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations — whose cofounder and executive director, Nihad Awad, said, “I was happy to see people breaking the siege” with Gaza’s Oct. 7 attack.
The other student, Elom Tettey-Tamaklo, was voted a class marshal by his Harvard Divinity School classmates. Harvard let both students graduate without consequence.
The resolution agreement, which should help all students, is significant, but it barely made news. Harvard made no public announcement. Most media outlets ignored the story.
Instead, much coverage misleadingly frames federal scrutiny of campus antisemitism as beginning with the new Trump-era task force.
I strongly support the rule of law and its being applied equally to all. I champion — at the same time — the First Amendment, federal funding of lawful basic research and robust enforcement of civil-rights protections.
But let’s be clear: Assault, discrimination, harassment, vandalism, trespassing and support for terrorist organizations are not protected speech. I write this as an American citizen and registered Democrat.
The Office of Civil Rights launched its investigation into Harvard in November 2023, following allegations of discrimination and harassment against Jewish students. While it later closed this investigation — a standard practice when federal lawsuits are proceeding — it maintained its oversight.
In a heartening development, even as the Biden team reviewed Harvard’s handling of Palestinian, Arab and Muslim students’ harassment claims, it continued to examine records and information directly related to the harassment of Jewish students.
The OCR’s Jan. 17 letter referenced the two federal lawsuits filed in 2024 alleging Harvard’s “deliberate indifference” and noted several disturbing examples. A federal court cited in one suit an allegation of “student-on-student harassment” and denied Harvard’s motion to dismiss both lawsuits.
Students repeatedly told me they struggled to find the appropriate channels to report harassment. When they did file complaints, responses were often slow, inadequate or dismissive — falling short of the prompt and effective response Title VI requires.
Even more troubling, Harvard would not pursue investigations unless students revealed their identities to alleged harassers.
This policy had a chilling effect, discouraging students from coming forward. Besides violating Title VI, the university may have breached its duty of care to ensure students’ physical safety.
The OCR confirmed these failures and found Harvard often failed to create or keep records of complaints — a serious compliance lapse that undermines accountability.
At many Harvard schools, the offices generally responsible for handling discrimination complaints — formerly called Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging — appeared not to have fulfilled their duties.
Harvard has since renamed these offices, but a new name is not enough.
Notably, the Biden agreement, which required Harvard to submit revised policies and procedures to the Office of Civil Rights by May 17 for review and approval, closely mirrors language from the Trump administration’s April 11 letter — which also called on Harvard to “immediately reform its student discipline policies and procedures so as to swiftly and transparently enforce its existing disciplinary policies with consistency and impartiality.”
Both administrations focused on reviewing Harvard’s response to reports of a hostile environment during the 2023-2025 academic years.
The Biden deal requires Harvard to provide “all formal and informal reports or complaints, received by the University alleging harassment based on shared ancestry, and the University’s response to those reports or complaints.”
Similarly, the Trump administration required that “Harvard must investigate and carry out meaningful discipline for all violations that occurred during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years.”
The resolution agreement is a step forward. Whether Harvard’s revised policies and efforts will be enough remains to be seen.
The findings of Harvard’s own Presidential Task Force on Combating Antisemitism and Anti-Israeli Bias vindicated these concerns and the need for decisive action.
The task force further recommends that Harvard develop a central hub for pluralism, implicitly acknowledging the need to protect academic freedom from Harvard’s own monoculture — a culture that has driven away distinguished scholars and researchers and led to documented discrimination against Jewish students and others.
Harvard also has to do more to comply with its January 2025 settlement with suing Jewish students. While all terms are not public, Harvard did commit to hiring someone to oversee all complaints of antisemitism — but still hasn’t announced anyone for that position.
I’m committed to helping Harvard return to its stated mission and to improving everyone on campus’ safety and well-being.
Equal civil rights, as guaranteed the Civil Rights Act’s Title VI and Title VII, should be a nonpartisan, uncontroversial American value.

i would love some tunnel fic AND (/or) ⛏️💕⛏️
ok i'm holding off on posting more about tunnel fic until i actually write more words. but because you asked so nicely, you're getting some background of geology fic AND a snippet.
this fic came about because annie sent me some bts shot of lou where he's wearing a fishing vest and i was like this is geology professor core. and then i simply couldn't stop thinking about it. back in my wayward youth i was a geology major and i've always thought that a field study would make for a great character study template, so the fic is laid out like a report:
the OTHER major player in this fic is that concept a few people were kicking around several months ago when that interview dropped about buck and tommy learning more about each other as their relationship developed (LOL LMAO!) that maybe tommy had a past partner who had died. and annie and i were sitting there in the sandbox, and we were like: what if his partner who died was older than him. what if his partner who died had been in a position of authority over him. what if his partner who died had been not only his professor and academic mentor, but also his gay mentor. and now, what if buck, a young spritely 20-something, recently self-actualized, with the hots for his older professor, was pushing up against all of that history of tommy's. all set against the background of my second-favorite thing to think about: rocks!
anyway, here's a snippet:
The room is dark, but the door's unlocked. Buck takes a chance and pushes it open. It doesn't look like there's anyone else in there, but there is a weird lump in the front corner behind the desk, and he can't quite make out what it is until he flips the light switch on and the lump startles and jumps and–it's a guy.
Not just a guy, but the guy.
Even with the memory of the jacket he was sleeping on imprinted deep into his face, Buck can tell he’s good looking. He has eyes, after all. And speaking of eyes, this guy—and it has to be the same one whose papers Buck has been reading all week—well, his eyes are piercingly dark blue. He blinks rapidly, sits up, and stares Buck down with those eyes.
"Uh, hi," Buck says, as the guy shoves his jacket off the desk and slaps his own face a couple of times and gets to his feet. "Are you Dr. Kinard?"
"Shit," the guy says, his voice cracking a little with sleep. He clears his throat. "Was I supposed to have a TA this semester? Sorry–"
"Oh, no, no, I'm, uh. I'm just a student," Buck says with a chuckle. He doesn't mean to, but he bobs his head like he's shy. He's not shy! He's just clearly in the right place at the wrong time. Maybe he should let the guy snooze, come back in half an hour.
The guy–Dr. Kinard–frowns, and wow, the picture of him on the UC-Pasadena Geology Department website does not do him justice. He's really earned that spicy pepper, Buck thinks, and then mentally kicks himself for it. "Huh," Dr. Kinard says, then: "Christ. Did I sleep through class?"
"No! No, you're good, I'm just–I'm super early, first day on campus, all my classes were remote last year, and because I'm, you know, 'non-traditional', not fresh out of high school, I didn't go through the, uh, standard orientation."
Real smooth, he thinks. He's rambling. He needs to stop rambling. At least the hot professor standing in front of him is starting to grin instead of rolling his eyes.
"Anyway, I'm a Bio major but I picked this class because, well–"
"Easy credit?"
Buck stares in shock, but Dr. Kinard isn't even looking at him; instead he's shuffling back toward his desk, hand reaching for the stack of papers that he was just using as a pillow.
"What? No way," Buck says, and it comes out a little more forceful than he intends. "No, I read your dissertation. It was really interesting. The, uh, the section about the volcanism in the Quaternary era? Am I saying that right? At first I was just like, woah, this is cool, I didn't know about any of this but then I was looking at the timelines and realizing that the earliest humans were literally walking around getting all, you know, homo-erectus-y while that volcano was spewing! And now people walk around Yellowstone and we just have no idea!"
Dr. Kinard's hand hasn't moved since Buck started talking. He's just… still, leaning over his desk. "You. Hold on. You read my dissertation?"
"Yeah," Buck says. "It was good!"
#this could be my most interesting fic yet if only i would FINISH THE DAMN THING#field study of the stratigraphy of the pasadena geologist

Good news for women
The training at Sapna Center has helped the women to come up with solutions for problems in their villages.
By Rishabh Jain Published On 31 Aug 2024
Kandabari, India – On a sunny morning in Kandabari village in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, a group of students is learning to code in a classroom.
Kriti Kumari, 19, is one of 31 women at the Sapna Center, which trains rural women from marginalised backgrounds and requires them to live on campus. The centre offers a yearlong training programme in which women are taught to code and design websites and learn project management and primary-school-level maths for aspiring teachers. The organisation helps others find jobs in India’s information technology sector.
“If not for the Sapna Center, I would have been married by now and doing household chores,” Kumari, a native of the central Indian state of Jharkhand who has been at the centre for four months, told Al Jazeera.
“My brother was against the idea of my studies, and we had financial problems at home. However, my father supported me and dropped me here,” Kumari told Al Jazeera.
The centre is run by Sajhe Sapne, a nonprofit that was started in 2020 by Surabhi Yadav, 32, an alumnus of the country’s premier engineering school, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Delhi. It has graduated 90 students so far.
For young women like Kumari, coding and programming skills help gain access to India’s $250bn IT industry, which employs more than five million people and where 36 percent of the workforce is women.
An IT job is Kumari’s goal at the end of her course, she said, even though it’s not been an easy journey so far. She had never heard the term coding and initially had a hard time understanding the concept.
Yadav said language barriers are one of the reasons why women from rural areas might not excel in STEM courses.

Ruben Dias x Reader - City Girls Part 7/8
Yeah this is a mess I can't fix 😅. Had fun writing this chapter tho since it ft Kyle Walker whom I am very fond of 🤣

Reader plays for the Man City girls academy. She struggles a bit but gets Ruben to mentor her. The the two don't hit off despite having many things in common. It all gets worse when Reader eventually catches feelings for Ruben.
Enjoy!
Cityzens Day.
It was mainly for the club sponsors but alot of players brought along their families and friends as the day was filled with fun activities, football challanges and the ever so popular guided tour inside the Ethiad campus.
It was your first time attending, although it was mandatory for all City players. A little sad, that you weren't able to bring your family from Brazil. They would have loved it, especially the chance to play football at the Ethiad Stadium. Apparently that was the highlight of the event, a friendly game between players from all levels, men, women, girls and boys, and of course their families. The game would be broadcasted on the teams website and it usually brought alot of laughs to alot of people. You couldn't wait to play, but until then you wandered the campus alone, watching other players enjoying spending quality time with their families.
"Hey Y/N, come here!"
You were observing a very intense juggling contests between an academy player and someone's kid, when coach spotted you in the crowd, waving you over.
"Meet my family." He stood next to a beautiful red-haired woman and young boy with a toothy smile. "This is my wife Trish, my son Ethan and that over there..." He pointed towards the crowd, to the center of it, where the juggling contests was happening. "That is my daughter Lucy." He said.
"Wow, she's really good."
She was definitely bruising the ego of the young academy player. He would certainly up his juggling game after this.
"You know, she reminds me alot of you." Coach smiled. "I can't get her to stop juggling the ball either."
"Seems like her talent won't go to waste today, the price is a Playstation 6, no?"
You shared a laugh. Coach had a lovely family who had flown all the way from Australia to see him. Cityzens Day was really the best time for that.
A food truck pulled up to campus just in time for lunch. You bought a taco bowl so big that you had to share it with another player as she saw you struggling.
"So when are you coming to play with us again." She asked, you knew her as Alison Bennett.
"I dunno?" You sighed. "I don't think I fit into the kind of squad your coach wants."
"Are you joking?" Alison frowned. "But you played so well with us."
It was strange really, but since it happned more than once now, that you got excluded from playing with the first team, you simply assumed the worst. Even though Ruben told you not to worry about it, you couldn't help but to. Your development as a player was at stake. And the fact that Ruben's diet helped you put on a few pounds was not a constellation. Perhaps the coaches on the first team had noticed, that you were getting fat?
"Speaking of playing, are you on for the game this afternoon?" Alison asked.
"The game against cityzens?"
"Yeah?"
You smiled. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
"Great. I really hope you're on my team. I'm the captain. We're gonna need...."
Alison got tuned out as you sighted something in the distance, or better yet, someone. It was Ruben, walking side by side with a woman just as tall as him only thinner. She was wearing a Man City jersey, sporting the number three, Ruben's number three. He held a hand to her lower back, guiding her around, introducing her to his teammates.
"Speaking of players I would like on my team." Alison took notice of where all your attention had gone. "We could surley use a defender like Dias."
"Ruben?" You asked, your voice a bit strained.
She nodded "He's like the best defender City's got. We'll never concede goals with him on our team."
You turned back to look at Ruben and the woman he had brought. Could it be his girlfriend? In that case Ruben didn't have a type, because you looked nothing like her.
"He used to coach me, you know?" Alison leaned in and whispered.
"Who, Ruben?"
She bit her lip, nodding her head.
"B...but you're a forward?"
"So? Aren't you one too? Nevertheless, Ruben used to teach me how to improve my skills. You know, help me get past the...."
"Defenders." You said, finishing of her sentence.
"Yeah, exactly. He's a really good coach."
"I can imagine." You ignored the painful beating of your heart. "Tell me..." You asked. ".. did you used to go to his place to, you know,"hang out"?"
She snorted. "No, why would I do that?"
"Oh."
A slight relief.
Alison stood, having helped you finish your meal. Her smile was devious. "No, Ruben used to take me back to the infirmary. We used to"hang out" there."
Your heart sank.
It was the realization that perhaps you were one of many.
********************************************
The afternoon sun was setting over Manchester City, but Cityzens Day was far from over. The game of cityzens was still on the agenda.
You laced up your cleats and stepped onto the football pitch at the magnificent Ethiad Stadium. It was truly breath taking playing in front so many people. Although the game was for fun, you were determined to showcase your talent, and even more determined to win against Ruben and his team. That's right, he was the captain of a squad containing lots of good players from all divisions. Players that made your teammates look like freaking toddlers.
"Alright! Ladies, fellas, huddle up!" A man urged for all the players on your team to gather around him. He was big, but funny looking, with a voice that did not match his brutal appearance.
"I'm Kyle Walker, but you can call me your captain for this evening."
"Captain?" Alison frowned. You were lucky to have her om your team, however, she did not look happy to find the captains armband handed to someone else. "We never voted for you to be our captain." She protested.
"Well, you should have. I have the experience when it matters and feel confident that I can lead this team to victory." He said.
"How?" A young U21 player squealed. Like the rest of you he was glaring at Ruben and his team as they warmed up on the opposite side of the pitch. The majority of Ruben's squad were players from the men's first team, including their assistant coaches.
"They're gonna eat us alive." The boy said, to which everyone agreed.
"Well that's not the spirit. Come on guys, hands in." Kyle ordered for everyone to stretch out a hand towards the ring you formed. "Victory on three, alright. One...two...three...VICTORY!" Kyle shouted, whilst the rest of you mumbled the words. Nevertheless you personally were not intimidated. You had played against tough opponents before, and you knew that you had a team that could give it their all, because Manchester City was arguably the best football club in the world.
The whistle blew, and the game began.
The first half was a blur of sweat and noise, as the two teams battled it out on the field. You dribbled and ran, dodging and weaving around your opponents, but Ruben and his team were tough to beat. They were bigger and stronger, and they had a few tricks up their sleeves.
"Whatta fuck!"
You ate dirt as Ruben ordered his players to tag team you. You stood no chance as Ruben was well aware that you rather go on your own than pass the ball.
"I'm sorry Y/N."
Ester pulled you up from the ground, having helped her teammates knock you down. She was playing for Ruben but seemed genuinely sorry for how he was running his play.
"Just give me the ball." You scuffed, as coach blew the whistle, handing your team a freekick for the offense made against you.
Kyle took it and missed.
The game resumed.
"Come on team, it's not over yet!" Your "captain", encouraged. "Fight until the end!"
As the second half began, your team was down by three goals, the majority of players being tired, cold and dirty, ready to throw in the towel. But you refused to give up. You knew that you had to do something to turn the game around, and you were determined to be the one to make it happen.
The moment didn't reveal itself until injury time. During he last minute's of the game. Ruben misjudged a pass, and you saw your chance. Charging directly towards him you had no other intention than to dribble past him.
"Pass the ball!" Kyle shouted, pointing to Alison who stood open, ready to receive the assist.
Your heart was pounding in your chest, you had to do this, you had to try and get past him. However Ruben's braud frame made it nearly impossible for you to sight the goal behind him. He looked smug, aware that your chances of getting past him were slim to none. But you had prepared for this. Ruben had prepared you for this. As he lunged forwards, you did not hesitate to bring the fight to him. The two of you clashed together, with Ruben's strangeth throwing you off, however you had suprised him with an elbow to his lower ribs, the quick jab making him fold before your eyes. It was your chance to get past him. For that split second that you caught him lacking you managed to ship the ball in the air and leaped your body over Ruben's extended leg. It was the moment of the match, the crowd on their feet watching a 60kg girl go head to head with one of the world's greatest defenders, beating him to it, sending the ball into the back off the net.
The crowd erupted in cheers, and your team rushed onto the field, arms around each other's shoulders, grinning from ear to ear.
"That's what I'm talking about. That's how we play!" Kyle Walker was in the verge of tears. You may have lost the game, but you had proven that you were not to be underestimated. Not now, not ever. By anyone.
"Great game Y/N."
"Um, thanks."
Ester approached you as the pitch cleared of people, friends and family members heading their respective ways. Cityzens Day was officially over.
"I really mean it, you played amazing."
You were on the ground tying your cleats. Looking up at Ester you sighed. "What do you want?"
Her expression was hard to read, her eyes desperate to tell you somthing. "I..." She squealed.
You stood, hands on your hips. "Yes?"
She sighed. "I'm sorry it had to be this way...between us. You really deserve to play with the first team but so do I. I've fought all of my life for this position."
"And I haven't?" You gasped. "Ester if you've got somthing else to say to me I rather not hear it." You turned your back on her and walked away, however, she fought to catch up to you.
"Come on Y/N. At least now you get to be with your boyfriend. I mean it was his idea."
"Whatta hell are you talking about Ester. I don't have a boyfriend."
"Could have fooled me." She chuckled, to which you frowned. "Ruben practically begged me not to tell the club officials about you two. He told me that he would talk to the coaches on the first team, tell them how you were having problems settling into a new country, mental problems, that were effecting your performance."
"He did what?"
Suddenly you lost the sensation of your hands and feet.
Ester nodded. "It worked. The coaches on the first team didn't want to put pressure on you by calling you up to play for them and so they picked me instead. It's a win-win for both of us since you get to be with Ruben and I get to play."
You were lost for words, trying to make sense of her words that were like riddles to your ears. However one thing was clear, Ruben had betrayed you, and for what?

Canary Mission, an antisemitism watchdog group, has made headlines since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war for its work exposing groups and individuals that support the Palestinian terror group and express hatred for the Jewish state.
Critics have accused Canary Mission of what they call unfair “doxing,” or publicizing information about a person or organization without their consent. However, that has not stopped the watchdog from calling out a wide range of entities for allegedly antisemitic behavior and spreading hateful ideology throughout North America, especially on college campuses.
The organization, which operates anonymously, spoke to The Algemeiner about its work since Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacre in southern Israel. To stay anonymous and protect the safety of staff, the group did not attribute its remarks to a specific individual.
Since the outbreak of the war, Canary Mission has been working on what it calls four “significant” developments.
“First, there has been a sharp escalation in global antisemitism, both in frequency and severity,” a representative said. “We are no longer discussing simple breaches of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. Discourse has alarmingly shifted to overt expressions of hate, including endorsements of Hamas’ violence against Jews, coupled with a stark indifference to the suffering of kidnapped, raped, and murdered Jews.”
Antisemitic incidents have skyrocketed globally since the Hamas atrocities of Oct. 7. Most recently, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reported a 360 percent surge in such incidents over the past three months, with about two-thirds directly related to the Israel-Hamas war.
“Second,” Canary Mission continued, “antisemites on the left and right seem even more willing to work with each other in their common cause against Jews and Israel.”
“Third, a bipartisan consensus has emerged with a clear recognition of the extreme antisemitism fostered within the anti-Israel movement,” the group added.
Lastly, Canary Mission addressed the presidents of Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) refusing to say at a congressional hearing last month that calling for the genocide of Jews would violate their schools’ codes of conduct against bullying and harassment.
“Fourth, despite the dismal failure of Harvard, UPenn, and MIT leadership to condemn calls for the genocide against Jews, there have been some positive campus developments,” the watchdog said. “Several universities have finally understood that Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) is essentially an incubator for hatred and have taken action against them.”
Some schools have banned or suspended SJP chapters, which have orchestrated pro-Hamas demonstrations on campuses across the US, for violating school rules.
Over the past three months, Canary Mission has, among other projects, linked US Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) to fundraisers with Hamas ties, profiled dozens of signatories of a letter denouncing Israel just one day after the Oct. 7 massacre, and exposed the organizers of a recent rally in Philadelphia that targeted a local Jewish restaurant for having a history of backing Hamas and calling for the destruction of Israel.
“Our support has significantly grown since the war began,” Canary Mission said. “The traffic to our website has substantially increased, reflecting the heightened interest in our cause … Our new support comes from across the political spectrum from individuals and organizations who understand the danger and hatred Jews are facing. Naturally, we have also received plenty of threats and abuse from neo-Nazis and anti-Israel activists alike.”
Canary Mission described its work as necessary and “far from finished” in combating “unfounded hatred towards Jews and the Jewish state.”
“Since our inception in 2015, Canary Mission has stood as a vigilant watchdog against antisemitism, with a particular focus on the spread of antisemitism in academic institutions,” the group said. “From UPenn to Harvard, our findings reveal an unsettling reality that has been simmering in American academia for years … Our work is comprehensive. We highlight instances of antisemitism across the political landscape and refuse to ignore or excuse it regardless of its source. The profiles we create are not just records but tools that hold individuals accountable for their words and actions. In doing so, we create lasting consequences for those who propagate hate against Jews and Israel.”
Canary Mission dismissed criticism that it’s doxing, saying it does not release any personal information such as home addresses, emails, or phone numbers. The watchdog added it “presents an individual’s words and actions. This enables the public to form their own opinion and decide on their own response to the content presented.”
Concluding, the group said, “Critics will continue to dislike the Canary Mission platform, and supporters will continue to recognize the vital importance of shining a light on anti-Jewish hatred during this difficult time in our history.”
“And a note to our critics: We are not going away — we have only just begun.”

Slasher U 1-Year State of the Union / Unholy Census!
Holy fucking shit we're coming along towards the 1-year anniversary of the release of the Slasher U Act 1 alpha!! We've come SO FUCKING FAR. Sawyer wasn't even a romanceable option back in the day! As of April 27th, it'll be Slasher U's first ever anniversary!
Mostly, I am SO FUCKING GRATEFUL that you all came along on the adventure to make my weird horny dating RPG a smash fucking hit!! Taking narrative seriously in dating/adult games was kind of my entire M.O (is?? mods??) and I am SO GRATEFUL Y'ALL UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO HERE lmao
THE BIG NUMBERS
As of 11:21 AM EST on 3/23/24, Slasher U: Act 1 has sold 6,100 copies across Steam & itch.io (Not including the copies sold as part of Games for Gaza that weren't redeemed/downloaded, so this only counts people who actually downloaded or bought the game!). This is obviously BEYOND MY WILDEST FUCKING DREAMS AND I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH HOLY SHIT. I didn't even realize it until I added it all together. (On top of this, we sold several fucking tens of thousands of games for Games for Gaza!! Hell yeah!)
For my fellow solo devs out there, this comes to Slasher U making a total of about $6,000 + $2,000 net USD through sales (the former) and crowdfunding (the latter, for Slasher U: Act 2) over the last 11ish months!! The game started off being free for the first 6ish months, then went to $6.69 for the Beta (with dong! whoa!!), and now at its full size, stands at a good ol' $14.99 for 15 hours of primo datin' sim!
This is objectively the most money I've ever made off of anything I've developed in my entire life, and paid my whole ass rent for the entire year, so THANK YOU HOLY SHIT. According to Steam, most indie games barely break $1k in total, so I am AGOG. FUCKING AGOG. THANK YOU FOR LIKING MY GAME AND LETTING ME MAKE MORE VIA NOT DYING FROM CAPITALISM
The average review score, across 89 reviews on itch.io, remains 4.9 out of 5 stars, and we're rocking a 93% Positive on Steam!!
THE UNHOLY CENSUS
The best part of Slasher U is, as I always say, THE STUDENT DISEMBODY!! Slasher U will always be a place where everything is gay and trans as fuck (although I'm also proud of writing my cishet storylines too :V /lh)! I knew y'all were gay (hello fellow gays) but I did not realize the QUEER FUCKING FORCE THE STUDENT DISEMBODY IS
Here's the demographics of Slasher U players as taken from Tumblr polls (that's a skewed sample size of about 280, so grain of salt here for the homo website for queers):
92.6% of you ID as queer (see below for the breakdown!) | 7.4% of you ID as straight
This fictional horror movie campus is: 48.5% bi/pan, 16.2% gay/mlm, 10.3% lesbian/wlw, 10.3% ace (oo tie!), 7.4% queer but not defined as above, and 7.4% straight!
61.9% of you ID as trans/not cis | 23.8% of you ID as cis | 14.3% of you ID as neither trans nor cis
46.8% of you are between 22-26 | 32.3% of you are between 18-21 | 16.1% of you are between 27-32 | 4.8% of you are between 32-45 | 0% of you are older than 45 (sample size I am guessing lol)
For 14.6% of you, Slasher U was the very first dating sim you've ever played (!). For 3.8% of you, Slasher U was the first indie game you've ever played (holy fucking shit!!! this is an actual absolute honor)
76.7% of you instinctively Road Runner away from Melyssa at the fountain in Act 1 | 23.3% let the Melyssa tsunami arrive at you
--
A FINAL WORD (FOR NOW) ON MAKIN' VIDJEE GAEMS
You should totally do it.
No, okay, but for real, I started working in games professionally in 2009 (yeah yeah i'm old. i am 32 and i am dying and they're coming for me in the corpse wagon etc) and I burned out in 2016 and came back two years ago with THIS THING and I can tell you RIGHT FUCKIN' NOW that, if you have ever wanted to make a game and the big guys aren't gonna do it, grab yourself and/or some friends and fuckin' make a video game. I have worked for a bunch of AA and mobile companies and I can tell you right the fuck now that this is the most fulfilling experience I have ever had writing a video game. I taught myself programming logic to make this thing! And sound design! I fucking learned to animate sprite sheets!! YOU CAN ALSO DO IT given the time and energy (pace yourself don't die)! And there won't be any execs around to tell you your weird niche game won't sell!! BECAUSE IT FUCKING WILL
Anyway, my entire career as a game designer, nobody let me write shit for them. You don't need permission to make stuff or write stuff. If you write it, they will fuckin' come, Field of Dreams style (also don't forget to tell everyone you made stuff and share it around. super key here. lmao). Turns out writing is all about sharing yourself with people, and who knows, you might just find that a fuckton of people ACTUALLY relate to you. (And that you're a pretty good writer. Which you knew. Yes, you. I am mixing metaphors and pointing to myself AND you now.)
