I rewatched Gravity Falls with my roommate/bestie a few months ago and tbh I LOVE. the whole idea of “guy who let a literal demon into his mind” thing, that’s awesome as hell. Trance

Trance was considered the elder sister of Pathos. Being further from the sun it promoted vegetation that coated the world in a luscious green, practically begging for life to prosper. Numerous species both small and giant would end up residing on the green marble. Beings lost to cruelty built numerous temples and the remnants of villages laid deep within the tallest brush.

Trance could only spare its sister for so long from asteroids far beyond the system, parasites of different strains wounding the surface of the planet. The strains ate away at every piece of flesh until none was left, the last remaining creatures surrendering in a hopeless attempt for swift deaths.

With nothing left but the vegetation, the parasites ultimately competed with each other for centuries. A strain evolved to the point of reanimating the dead by connecting pieces of bones with sickly green sinew, allowing some to even take flight.

When eyes were no longer on Trance it was set ablaze in an unknown amount of time. However, the flames did not seem to reach many of the temples, as if protected by some unknown force. Perhaps if the residents were alive, the sight of their sacred locations unscathed would have given them hope to fight for their home.
