Prompt 252
“Sir, we’ve… There’s been an encounter with a Reaper class entity.”
There were several classifications for ecto-entities. Several ways the Ghost Investigation Ward classified each. Several common ones that they could easily destroy, easily study. Others however… others were dangerous. Incredibly dangerous.
There’d only been two other Reaper-class entities confirmed before- both contained but barely. RP-1, a large knight-like entity seemingly made from shadows, and RP-2, a child-like creature that could near perfectly mimic a human.
And now, there was a third. A third entity that could- and judging from the reports coming in had- killed. Had done so several times even. Which meant it needed to be contained yesterday.

The Wish to Make on a Dying Breath
Heyyyy people. It’s been a while! So this isn’t what I had promised but I wanted to experiment with words a little bit and this is what i came up with. Apparently I do love death as a central theme because this is about death again. Sorry!
Masterlist pinned/in bio
Pairing: Jason Todd x Death!Reader (gender neutral)
Word count: 2422
Warnings: Jason Todd dying a few times but don’t worry it’s not a tragic story, fatal injuries, talk about the afterlife
Summary: You are the powerful entity of Death, keeping watch on the Earth and making sure souls are properly transitioned into the afterlife. One night, you are called in person to a specific death, where you meet the one and only Jason Todd
You have seen a lot of things.
People being born and dying, the rise and fall of empires, the best and the worst of humanity, sometimes co-existing side to side closer than they would even know. There was not a lot that could impress you anymore, but sometimes there were circumstances, lone stars of events that still drew your curiosity. After all, human kind has always been an unpredictable species that managed to take you by surprise from time to time. Your work had changed since you had first been needed. There were too many people on the Earth now for you to handle personally, and you didn’t quite know what factor made you select some people over others.
The night grew silent as you appeared outside an abandoned building on the outskirts of the big city casting a bright light in the distance. You went in, navigating the filthy hallways slowly. It wasn’t long until you reached a bigger room filled with dynamite crates and gasoline puddles on the uneven concrete. In the middle laid someone bloodied and battered and a countdown frozen on the precise moment the last second flipped to zero.
You walked to them and crouched, noticing how it was just a boy. Young, yet wearing a haunted expression that added years to his traits. There was a single tear that had been rolling down his cheek, a tear of defeat and heartbreak, a tear that was too emotionally charged for a teenager. With a heavy sigh, you reached to him and gently cupped his jaw.
In less than a second, you felt his entire body tense like an electrical shock went through it and he leaped back, away from you. His eyes were wide as he frantically looked around, aggressively wiping the tear from his cheek. You stood up slowly, observing him. He sniffled, sending you a wary glare, until his eyes found the countdown. Incomprehension was written all over him in verses and his breathing was ragged.
“Am I dead?”
You have seen a lot of things. Good people pleading to live another day, children not understanding what was happening to them, painful unwilling resignation to cross to the other side. But as he spoke, his voice cracked and scared, you couldn’t help but feel a slow sadness creep inside of you. He was one of these cases that just didn’t feel right, but that had to happen.
“Not yet” You replied softly.
“But I will be”
It wasn’t a question. You smiled sadly.
“Yes” You sighed, glancing at the countdown. “Once this reaches 0, I can only suppose this place will blow up with you in it”
He wiped another tear, smearing blood on his cheek. “Why can’t I feel pain?” He asked. “I can’t move, how am I moving?”
You gave him another smile. “I froze time, and by doing so, created a temporary plane of existence on which you are right now” You explained. “I can bend the rules a little more freely here”
His eyes turned critical. He understood what you were saying, easier than most people you remarked. He was just not sure whether to take your word for it, and his confusion turned into suspicion. “Who are you?”
You didn’t flinch at the harshness of his voice. “Have you not figured it out yet?”
“I dealt with enough meta, I don’t keep track of who can do what” He scoffed weakly, but you could see the fight in him. You admired the courage mask he had hurried to put on, because not a lot of people had the guts to stand up to Death itself like that.
“I see what you mean” You said. “But I am not a meta. I am Death”
His eyes narrowed before he looked up to the ceiling. “Yeah sure” He drawled out, setting his glance back on you. “And I am the crown prince of Denmark”
You chuckled. “You have quite the temper” You pointed out as you began walking around, stopping in front of a crate. A clown face had been spray painted on it, on every one of them. Then, you turned to the boy again, looking him in the eyes. “But I think deep down you know I am telling the truth”
He shifted on his feet. “You don’t look like Death”
“You mean the gravely old man, or the skeleton in the black robes with a scyther?”
He scoffed again.
“My form does change a lot, but those are myths” You answered. “I will appear to you depending on who you are and what you’ve done. Only terrible people are faced with terrible reapers”
“You look like an angel”
He seemed surprised by the words he blurted out as a blush crept onto his face. He hadn’t meant to say it out loud, that was clear. You looked down, trying to rein back the smile that wanted to break out on your lips. He was truly a unique case, and you began to understand why you had been called to him.
“It means you deserved an angel” You nodded your head slowly. “You should be proud of your time on Earth. You were a good person, and you did good things”
“Will it hurt?” He asked.
You shook your head. “It’s going to be quick, once I restart the time”
“What will come next?”
“I’m sorry” You apologized. “This is something I can’t tell you”
“What if I don’t want to come?”
“I’m afraid that is not up to you” You sighed.
He seemed disappointed, but nodded nevertheless. “Do your thing”
“Everything’s gonna be okay” You reassured with one last smile, gesturing for him to return to his initial position. He kneeled down, then let himself fall into the ground as he regained the plane of existence he belonged to. And just like that, he was once again frozen along with everything else. You took a moment longer to look at him before you resumed time.
The explosion took everything in its wake, everything but you.
---
The alley was dirty and wet, and even with time stopped, you could just hear pipes leaking and rat rummaging through the garbage.
Gotham hasn’t really gotten better since your last visit.
You walked deeper into the alley until you saw not one, but two figures frozen with the rest of the world. As you approached you noticed a leather jacket covering a red bat, even redder with a torrent of blood drowning it. Then your eyes trailed up to a defined face, scarred but beautiful, dark hair with a white streak hanging on his forehead. His eyelids were half closed as he stared up at the red haired man kneeling beside him, who seemed to be searching his pockets for anything to stop the bleeding.
Even without seeing his eyes completely, you knew who it was.
You approached him, and just like you did the first time, you reached for his cheek. His eyes fluttered open, finding yours quickly. You watched as they widened, letting you see the bright blue that had marked your mind forever. This time, he didn’t jump back.
“It’s you” His voice was no louder than a breath caught in the wind.
“It’s me” You smiled, watching as he sat up straight from the pile of old cardboard boxes he was leaning on.
You had heard of his comeback to life, of course you did. It wasn’t the first time it happened in history, and most times you had to find a way to tip the dominos so the balance could return to the normal. But you couldn’t hide to yourself you sometimes played favourites and let him be for the time being.
“I didn’t expect to see you again so soon”
“The feeling is mutual” There was a small scoff in his voice, but nothing mean or sarcastic. He was looking at you with wonder and curiosity, being way calmer this time around. “Multiple bullets to the chest is not how I envisioned my second death, to be honest”
“Rarely anyone expects that” You hummed.
“Touché” He sighed, looking you up and down. He then frowned. “ I don’t get it”
You waited for him to express his thoughts. You doubted he meant death, or the bullets for that matter.
“You still look like an angel,” He said, blinking. “How do you still look like an angel?”
“Nothing has changed, Jason” You replied. “You are still a good person, who has done good things”
His expression changed. There was a calculating look in his eyes, and emotion brewing under. “You know my name”
“I know most things in the universe” You chuckled. “That includes the names of the souls I reap, and you are hardly forgettable”
A familiar blush creeped on his cheeks as he cleared his throat. “And you think what I’m doing is good?”
“I don’t think so, I know so”
He looked down, letting yet another sigh. He took a moment to collect himself, then nodded slightly. His eyes met yours, a newfound determination in them. “I won’t hold you back anymore, I’m ready. Do your thing”
You smiled again. “I’ll see you again, Jason Todd” You reached for his chest, placing your palm flat on the bullet holes. “Just, not so soon, okay?”
“Wait, what does that mean?” He called as you backed up from him. His body moved itself to retake its position on the right plane of existence, staring at you expectantly. Your lips reached just a little higher, but you didn’t talk. Instead, you unfroze time and let yourself become invisible to the living again.
A second later, you watched as Jason gasped, his eyelids no longer heavy but instead wide open his blue eyes looking around for something that wasn’t there. You didn’t stick around for too long however, going back to work.
You have seen a lot of things. Reapers that ignored the natural balance, granting favors left and right to humans. Reality being bended at will, the balance being upset to the point of an almost reset. However, you knew the balance would be just fine this time. You were Death and Life, you had seen the world change and grow, and you believed it would be better off with Jason in it.
---
It was a sunny day when you found yourself on the porch of a small house in a small town, and you would have been sure you had somehow made a mistake if it hadn’t been for the sense of familiarity that echoed through the call that bekonned you there.
The wind was paused, but you could almost feel the breeze gently blowing through the trees, or the sun rays hitting your face. You looked at the house, then at the door and the knob. You went in.
You navigated slowly through the hallways, observing the lively wallpaper and the pictures hanging on the walls. Smiles and love stared out the frames, giving it back to the world. It was peaceful there, which was a nice change of pace for once. You ended up at the end of the hallway, where you could see through the open door multiple people gathered around the bed, their eyes teary and sad, but not in pain. You found an open space on the bed and sat down, looking at the man laying down.
His face was wrinkled, the traces of old age fusioning with the faded scars in a portrait of his experiences and adventures. His greying hair was mostly hiding the silver streak on his forehead, but you could still see its contrast. His eyes were closed, and he looked peaceful. You gently put your hand on his cheek, waking him up for what you knew would truly be the last time.
His blue eyes opened, and he smiled.
“Hello, Jason” You could see the spark in his eyes, one that was the witness of a happier life. In that moment, you knew he had made the best of it.
“My angel” His voice was a little bit frailer than last time, another sign of time making its mark on him. A warmth spread inside of you as you gently took his hand in yours. “I hope you don’t plan on sending me back out there”
You let out an airy laugh at his playful expression, shaking your head. “No, I can assure you this is the end of the road, for real this time”
“Good” He let out a content sigh. He wasn’t tense, there wasn’t an ounce of fear in his body. All you could feel radiating out of him was peace. “I’m tired. What a life it has been”
“A great one” You nodded. “I hope you’re proud of it”
“So you don’t regret sending me back into the world that night forty-five year ago?”
“Not for a moment” Your smile widened. “I believe it’s the best decision I’ve ever made”
He looked down, like he didn’t think himself worthy of this praise. You gave his hand a squeeze.
“I’ve never thanked you” He began after a moment, and you tilted your head. “For helping me out the first time. And for letting me live the second time. You’re the reason I didn’t fear Death as much as I used to”
“I’m glad I could change your mind about me” You chuckled quietly. The sun was hitting him in a perfect angle though the window, painting a golden halo around him. He said you looked like an angel, now he was one too. “And I’m glad this death seems better than the last one”
He let out a shaky breath, looking into every face around him for the last time. “It’s less traumatizing, that’s for sure”
“Are you ready?”
He nodded slowly before smiling at you. “I am”
“Close your eyes” You whispered, and he made himself comfortable in his bed before shutting his eyelids for the last time. He truly looked at peace.
Without moving, you restarted time to feel him let out his last breath. As his family noticed the new stillness of his body, you slipped away from the house without looking back.
You have seen a lot of things.
People being born and dying, the rise and fall of empires, the best and the worst of humanity, sometimes co-existing side to side closer than they would even know. You were Death and Life, you had seen the world change and grow.
Still, Jason Todd had been your favourite part of it.

Jason Stross vs The Multiverse
So some quick context, fellow Tumblr user @cratmang created an SU character, Conga Tourmaline, an interdimensional traveler that travels through and studies the Alternate Universes of Steven Universe.
They currently have two posts on her on their blog, which goes into better detail on her character.
So I reached out to them and asked if it would be ok to write a quick thing where my character Jason Stross meets her.
They said yes, and the result is an SU OC that isnt an SU OC being tied into an alternate version of @ask-whitepearl-and-steven, an alternate version of @lab-raised-steven, a hint of @revolver-d‘s Black Pearl, an even smaller hint of Symbiotic Titan, and topped off with Doom.
And some Trailer Park Boys for good measure.
Without further ado, I hope you read this and enjoy. lol
_ _ _ _ _
It was clear that Jason was in some sort of space station. Where said station was on the other hand, was the real mystery.
Any time he would have a chance to see through the windows available, all he would see is a thick fog of grey and orange. While he wasn’t sure where he was, one thing was clear.
He surely wasn’t on Earth.
Whoever it was that did abduct him, was of a background he was unfamiliar with, as the technological architecture in no way resembles that of anything he had ever seen. It was still Alien.
With all of that said, however, he was unsure if the unknown entity, or entities, were hostile.
He was stripped of his armor and equipment, leaving him in only his Second Skin suit. If whoever was keeping him here wanted to kill him, chances were he would have already been dead before awaking.
As he walked through the space station, one thing he saw more of were speakers, practically outlining the hallways and rooms of the large structure. Some such speakers, in the distance, seemed to be functioning.
Jason began to travel down the massive hall, toward the other far off end to investigate the source of the noise. As he stepped closer to the source of the sound, which all conveyed in a large lit room in what seemed to be the center of the station, it seemed as if the sound itself was music.
Jason stood confused as he began to recognize the sound. It seemed like familiar music, which more or less seemed to confuse him even more. The guitar strums from the music made it sound like the Earth genre of music known as “Country”.
As Jason approached the main room, he reached down to his thigh, almost out of muscle memory, to retrieve his blaster, only to be reminded that all he had was the Second Skin suit on him.
He had to be careful, as he was not 100% positive that his “host” was friendly. He continued to silently step into the room.
What he saw was a single figure, dancing along with the music. Their back was turned to Jason, so they did not notice him.
The figure in question, was nearly covered in green. Their four arms moving carelessly in the air along with the beat of the music. Jason wasn’t sure if what was at the top of her head was either a hat or hair, but the green object made sure that they stood a good two feet above him. At first glance, Jason would have guessed that the figure floated, but after further examination, it appeared to be standing on metallic legs.
As Jason stepped forward to the figure, almost on cue as he came close to six feet, the figure turned around, still following the beat of the music. It was then Jason saw the few view of them, their long pointy nose, their goggles shielding their three glowing green eyes, and the headphones over their ears.
It was odd, other features of his captor made it seemed as if they were a Gem. That said, as he got closer to them, their suit seemed to be of other origin than Homeworld. As he got a closer look at their legs, he saw that they were much smaller than expected. The legs seemed to have ended in rather small and sharp points.
The headphones they wore were probably more for show due to the already blasting music, which didn’t turn off, only lowered in volume significantly as the figure recognized the human in their presence.
“Oh excellent!” The figure said as she clapped her four hands together. “You’re awake.” She giggled as she walked past him quickly. “I bet you hear that one a lot.”
Her voice was oddly cheery, seeming to be more focused on the excitement of the music. The most noteworthy factor of her voice was that it seemed as if it were of three different people speaking in unison.
Some of her arms were still flailing the in air to the music as she reached into a nearby drawer to dig through the container.
“No… no… not it.” She kept saying as she rummaged through. “Aha!” She said as she pulled put a round glass bottle of a reddish-brown clear liquid. She returned to Jason, who realized a bow was wrapped onto the neck of the bottle.
“Welcome, Jason Stross!” The Green figure said, as she handed Jason the bottle. “To my Studio!”
Jason took the offered glass bottle, still keeping his eye on the figure welcoming him. As he looked down at the label of the glass container, the description of the contents caught his eye. He looked back up. “Is this-?”
“Coaxian Brandy.” The Figure interrupted with a smile. “Pre-Genesis. Very rare.” She explained. She then extended one of her hands out to Jason. “We apologize, Jason. Please allow me to introduce ourselves, Conga Tourmaline, Interdimensional Traveler, Occupant to the Throne of Loki, unrivaled in magic and technology!” She said in pride, seeming as if it was a name Jason should have heard by now. She reached for Jason’s hand to shake it. “Most call me Conga.”
Before Jason could ask anything else, he heard the lyrics of the song blasting through the speakers.
“No one’s got your back, but whose got your belly?” The speakers yelled at the two.
“What the hell is that?” Jason said to Conga in a demanding tone, his confusion turned into agitation.
“Oh, sorry.” Conga said in a humorous manner as she reached for a control panel. The country music quickly turned off as the speakers switched to a more electronic song.
“Now what the hell is this?” Jason asked Conga, his agitation lowered, but still present.
“You don’t recognize it?” Conga asked. “Jason, it is your theme song after all!”
“What?” Jason asked. “I don’t have a theme song. I’m not some fictional character, where the hell am I?”
Conga raised her finger as if to explain the creators of the two of them, NickDempsey and Cratmang, discussed the possibility of her and Jason meeting. However, Jason was still human, and couldn’t possibly comprehend the possibility of the Fourth Wall’s existence. She decided to go for option B for her explanation of their interaction.
The time to decide on how to explain to him seemed to be more than too long for Jason, as he began to step closer to Conga, seeming to be more threatening.
“Listen.” He said in an authoritative tone, you’re going to tell me or- “
“Jason Stross, even without our Interdimensional Powers, I am still a fusion of three Gems. Three.” Conga said, almost in a bragging matter. “I believe that we would be considered a difficulty to harm, even by the great Reaper of Kul-Baris- “
“Don’t call me that.” Jason demanded; his aggression grew back up.
The phrase sent a chill down Conga’s back, or spine if Gems could have one. It was enough to understand why some lesser Gems in this dimension to grow fear upon the mere mention of her human guest.
“I don’t suppose ‘Blue Diamond’s Pet’ is a better title?” Conga asked, receiving the same glare from Jason. “That was a joke.” She was quick to say.
“Why am I here?” Jason asked. “Why did you kidnap me?”
“Kidnap?” Conga asked, as if to defend an accusation. “We saved you. You were almost killed by that Black Pearl!”
Jason remembered the encounter in Angel City. He was responding to a series of complaints of disappearances, only to find the violent Gem in question.
Jason had to admit, much to Conga’s defense, the Pearl did beat Jason into an inch left of his life.
“Fine.” Jason said to Conga as he placed the bottle of liquor on a nearby table. “So, you did, but that still doesn’t answer my question.”
“Well, as I’ve said…” Conga began her explanation. “During our interdimensional travels and studies, I’ve tended to notice you a few times when investigating a few AUs.”
Jason looked at Conga with a combination of confusion and curiosity. “AUs?”
“Alternate Universes.” Conga said as she moved past Jason toward a door on another side of the room. The door was closed until she approached it, causing it to open to reveal a darker lit room. The only source of light seemed to be from a series of screens inside the smaller room.
Conga looked back to Jason, as if remembering that he was still there after a split second of forgetting his presence. “Right this way, please.”
Her demeanor looked more or so like someone excited to show him a project.
Jason slowly began to approach the room, looking from behind Conga.
The source of the light, evidentially, was a series of large, floating screens flying around the small room.
“Alternate Realities, to be specific.” Conga began to explain in an amused and excited way, almost as if she had rehearsed her speech. “Universes vary. All are different. Be it a small difference, such as an object being a different color, or something huge, such as a historic event ending in the opposite way.”
A screen descended between Jason and Conga, who presented the screen to him.
The screen showed Jason in his Paladin armor, along with three other beings. Two of which were Gems Jason had not seen before. One was a Pearl, lacking any color and an eye. The other Gem, which seemed to be closer to Jason in the image, was a Blue Gem, a few inches under Jason’s height. The Gem in her chest was suspiciously a familiar shape. An odd shape to be in a Gem that small.
The third, was a small child, which seemed to have a Gem of his own pointing out of his forehead. The sight was odd, he knew he never saw the kid before, but he seemed familiar at the same time.
“I first found out about you in an alternate universe of White Diamond Steven…” Conga said to Jason.
“Huh?” Jason asked upon hearing the name Steven. “You mean the kid in Beach City? With the Crystal Gems?”
“Exactly!” Conga excitingly said. She then pulled another screen showing only Jason in a cell.
A thick wall of glass separated his cell with another, holding what seemed to be the same kid from Beach City they were just talking about.
Unfortunately, the two seemed miserable in their location, almost seeming trapped.
“This one is an alternate version of the Lab Raised AU.” Conga said as she pushed the screen away from the two, directing Jason toward the rest of the screens. “You seemed to be in so many alternate versions of the universes I was looking into, we did some digging and saw alternate versions of your own universe.”
“Alternate versions?” Jason asked Conga, looking over to another passing window which revealed him sitting in a booth, sharing a table with a man wearing red goggles and a large, black hat covering his long, silver hair. The other man seemed calm, while Jason had an expression of agitated annoyance on his face.
“Exactly!” Conga said excitingly. “Technically speaking, the universe you are from is an alternate version of your original universe.”
She was only met with the facial expression of more confusion when she looked at Jason Stross. “Right…” Conga said as she continued on her spiel.
The words that came from Conga’s mouth seemed to have went from one of Jason’s ears through the other, as he just continued to look at the other “windows”. Some seemed to be recreations of previous events he had been in, minus a small detail or two.
Then the few that really caught his attention, seemed to be windows into other worlds. Places that Jason would never see himself being in.
However, he was still there. In each window, different in one way or another, he was still there.
One however, caught his attention.
“What’s the deal with this one?” Jason asked, interrupting Conga Tourmalines lecture on the infinite universes.
Conga looked over to the window Jason was looking over to. “Oh!” She said excitingly, walking over to Jason and the window. “This one is interesting.” She resumed her excited tone. “This one is similar to this current universe.” She explained. “Only, except of arriving on Earth, you arrive to the planet of Argent D’nur.”
Jason looked at the window, studying it. While he had “less than pleasant” feelings about his time on Earth, it now seemed like cake walk next to the universe he was currently looking at.
He only saw a small glimpse of it, but it seemed more than enough.
All he saw of his time in “Argent D’nur” was him, in complete, unfiltered fear, as he was grabbed by the collar of another human in an arena looking environment.
The other figure in the window, however, complimented Jason’s fear, with complete, untainted rage as he raised his fist to punch Jason’s entire head out of existence.
Due to no audio feed, Jason could not tell what the other being was saying at first, but he could read lips. If Jason was right, the other being was saying “Rip and Tear.”
“Unfortunately, you do not last long, in that universe.” Conga said in a sudden grim tone.

AishaxAlex - First Kiss (Valentine’s Day Prompt 8)
A/N: I hadn’t forgotten about the prompts I still have to finish. But some of them are just..taking me a while. I will get to all the requests, I just ask for a little patience.
And this is a story of..a weird origin to be honest. It started with an idea about Clones 3 and 4 (whom my sister and I named Alex and Jason). And then we came up with an AU where they kinda like..became the spirits of Life and Death? And then it kind turned more into an original story of just two boys who became the spirits? I dunno. XP I tried to explain it in the story. But I hope you guys like it as much as @provider-of-guardians.
Alex was walking through the woods. His mind was still churning over recent events. He sighed sadly to himself.
Why is it that for someone who's the physical reincarnation of Death, he has to be this emotional?
He was in love, ultimately, but that was the problem. And that made him upset cause it's not like after living for over a few centuries this wouldn't have been thought up. He knew it had to be futile. It made him worry because the last thing he would want to do is lose the very girl he had fallen in love with. He didn't know what to do. And he was very mad about it because for once in his crazy existence, he finds himself very much in the possibility of having a decent shot of getting a relationship and now it's not that he's shy or that he's a clumsy dork like he used to be..it's his entire entity that keeps him from what he's wanted for so, so long.
"Whoa, why the long face?", said his brother Jason as he entered their homely cave. Alex sighed and fell back on their old mattress. "Dude, was it another hard choice in death today?"
"No..", Alex laid back on the bed and turned away. "Just a friendly reminder that though long ago I was once human only then to become the embodiment of the deceased that you frequently put up with, my future is still as bleak as either periods of my existence. It still feels all so pointless and no matter what I may try to do or say, nothing will ever change. Many lives will drip through the sands of time and still I'll find myself forever tormented in the same endless drama that I have come to both loathe and be familiar with like an age-old nemesis.."
"So....your gettin' depressed again? Wow. It's been a good few years.", Jason noted and looked up from their make-shift desk of a very large stump and the journal they often wrote in. "But man, we've been over this. You're a good guy and what we do does matter-"
"No, no it's not about that.", Alex sighed still gazing up at the ceiling. "Trust me, being aware of how small I am in the vast infinity of the universe would be more fun than what I'm currently suffering."
"Okay, well then stop with all the universal-chatter and talk straight to me."
Alex finally looked back at his brother. He hesitated, but really it was his brother. After everything they've done, why keep this a secret?
"...I'm in love.", he simply said.
"....alright..", Jason nodded, waiting for the rest.
"....with Aisha."
"....is that all?"
Alex sat up, frowning.
"What do you mean 'is that all'?"
"Well..I think it's honest to say that was a long-time coming.", Jason shrugged. "Especially with Aisha and all.. You were always the more romantic out of the two of us, weirdly enough. But like, what? What are you freaking out about?"
"Um... Well not to be self-deprecating or anything, just being matter of fact...I'm DEATH.", Alex reminded him. "I'm an immortal being that collects the spirits of the dead and guide them to purgatory. The Grim Reaper of these woods!"
"I don't get it.", Jason said simply, earning a growl of frustration from his brother.
"Jason think about it! She's a human! She's fragile, and short-lived. She'll DIE in about another 50 years or so. Mortal-immortal relationships don't exactly work out that well in the long run! And if she dies in these woods I'LL have to observe it, collect her spirit, and send it to purgatory! Isn't that kinda harsh?"
"Well-"
"I mean, alright, let's start this from the top. First of all, I don't even know if she likes me. But even if she does, for some bizarre reason, then I don't know what dating would be like, other than a walk around the woods and me bailing on her every time an animal dies. I don't really think it's a good idea for me or you to go into town.", Alex began. "Then say we get into a long-term and rather serious relationship. Where is she gonna live? In our smelly man-cave and forage for food like an animal? Um, NO. I can't provide her with a family either cause it just doesn't seem likely for Death, does it? And while she gets older and older, my original form will still be a twelve year-old's body! She needs to be with humans where she can socialize and meet her normal HUMAN needs. And this is all IF she likes me."
"Alex.. Alex, Alex, Alex, Alex, Alex, ALEX.", Jason got up from his seat and came over to put a hand on his brother's shoulder, looking serious and slightly fed up with this. "...Listen to me. Let's start with numero uno. Do you love her?"
"..Yes.", Alex sighed. "I haven't felt this way about someone since I was human.."
"Are we good friends with her?", Jason asked. "I'm making a point."
"..Well yeah, of course we are.", Alex agreed.
"Then you should tell her.", Jason simply put. "You should be honest with her. You can't ruin a friendship by confessing you have a crush on each other."
"I can if she totally and completely rejects me and thinks I'm a creep.", Alex countered.
"But this is Aisha we're talking about.", Jason shrugged and smiled. "If she was gonna turn you down, she would be nicer about it and would still wanna hang out with us. Remember, we couldn't scare her off no matter how hard we tried. She's pretty damn persistent."
Alex couldn't help the smile that slipped on his face.
"Yeah..", he agreed. "She's not easily deterred at all.."
"Look.", Jason sat on the bed with him. "Tell her. You've already been through so much in our lives, this shouldn’t be too hard to do. You literally have got nothing to lose. And if she likes you back...take it a step at a time. See what happens. Alex, for as long as we've been together, you've hardly ever just let yourself enjoy something. You liked something for a little while and then even up in your own head you're thinking, thinking, thinking.. If she likes you back..for once in your life just let yourself have it. If anyone deserves to have someone that makes them happy, it's you."
"...you really think so?"
"As sure as goblins are ugly.", Jason smiled.
"Alright. I guess I'll uh.. Tell her tomorrow or some-"
"Ny- ah-ha! Nu-uh, no!", Jason exclaimed getting back up and dragging his brother up too. "You're gonna go tell her NOW."
"What?!", Alex nearly shrieked. "Right now?!"
"Right now or so help me I won't even TRY to be discreet the next time I bring a date home! And trust me, I've held back.", Jason growled in his threat.
Alex felt his cheeks burn bright red. If there was one distinct difference that you could always tell between the two is that Alex was the prude. He quickly began to leave the cave.
"Alright, alright! I'm going I'm going!", he hurried off.
He pulled down the hood of his cloak and in one swift movement his paws hit the ground and he began racing through the woods as a wolf, already knowing where to go.
Meanwhile, Aisha was sitting in the living room of her small home at the edge of town, and she had a book in hand but she wasn't really reading it. She couldn't seem to focus on the words, and she knew why. Aisha wanted to be in the woods. Wanted to go out and see Alex again. He and his brother were so much fun to be with, just walking around, talking. The deep conversations she and Alex would share along with Jason's blunt humor. She had been wanting to go see them all day, but sadly had work to do earlier. Now the sun was setting and she knew the woods would be more dangerous at night. She glanced out the window at the sunset and turned back to look at her book when something caught her eye.
She looked again and..yes, there it was. A small, soft, bluish white light glowing in the corner. Alex's wisp.
What was he doing so close to the edge of the woods? He's not usually too far away from them.
She sat aside her book and came to the window. Several more wisps lead down the side of her house and out her backyard. Quickly she went and got her jacket off the hook by the door and headed out. She followed the wisps out her yard and into the woods where not long afterwards she found Alex waiting for her. He looked a little scared.
"Alex? Is something wrong?", she asked. "Are you and Jason okay?"
"Yeah, yeah, we're fine. I'm uh.. S-sorry for the scare.. I just wanted to talk to you.", he explained, rubbing the back of his neck.
"...what about?", she asked slowly, getting nervous herself.
Alex sighed. He could feel his heart already rattling with nerves. He looked back up at her, those dark blazing brown eyes caught in the twilight, so full of concern and life..he took a deep breath. It was now or never.
"Well.. I um...", he glanced away and tried again. "..I-I..I love you.."
At first she didn't respond. Just stood there for a moment, letting it sink in. She slowly smiled, and Alex was sure his heartbeat must've stopped.
"Really? Cause I’ve been...so nervous to say...", she started softly. “..I love you too..”
And it was as if those few simple words made all of time freeze. The earth no longer spun. The sun was no longer setting. Everything froze for this one moment between them. And Aisha's sweet and loving, hopeful smile, slowly became worried as she watched Alex becoming more and more nervous.
"You..you do?", he stammered, becoming increasingly uneasy.
"Yeah.. Why?", she asked slowly. "Is..isn't that a good thing?"
Alex was quiet for a moment and he turned his gaze to the ground.
"...Aisha.. I'm immortal.", he said quietly..sadly. "...I don't know if..if it's okay. I mean..."
The understanding of his unspoken worries, soon dawned on her. She knew him pretty well to have an idea of what he was worried about. The lifespan differences, the age differences, how would it all work out, if he could make her happy... The relaxed, loving smile soon returned to her face. He really was too cute sometimes.
But Alex was still caught up in his own worries. Anxiety was very quickly devouring him and almost escalating to a panic.
"I-I mean- Aisha, I'm- I can't.. We can't. We shouldn't. You'll.. You'll die someday and I'll-"
He finally noticed she was getting closer and that caught him off guard. Even more so when he saw she was still smiling and drawing closer and-
And now all the earth around him disappeared in a clean swoop as he felt her soft lips brush against his. He was so stunned, he almost didn't even think to shut his eyes. Yet somehow, they slipped closed on their own. He felt her turn her head and the angle of their lips was suddenly much better. His heart fluttered and he was certain hers was too as they continued to kiss. He could feel heat rushing into his face as he instinctively angled his head for a deeper, even more satisfying kiss and ohh gosh where had this been all his life? This feeling making his heart skip every other beat, being so close to someone like this, feeling so..perfect..in this one small moment.
And only all too soon, she pulled away and his eyes fluttered open to see her dazzling brown eyes smiling back at him.
"...You worry too much.", she teased, though her voice was gentle and loving.
He wanted to smile and laugh it off with her and kiss her again but..he still felt nervous.
"...Aisha..", he sighed. "This isn't.. We shouldn't do this. You'll die someday.. And then I'll be...alone again.. And... I can't give you everything you need.. I can't..."
"Alex.", she cupped his jaw and leaned in until she could look him in the eye. "...We'll figure it out as we go along.. But I love you..so much. I've...loved you for a while now, actually."
At this, of course he couldn't help but look surprised.
"...Oh my gosh I'm so dense..", he groaned and face-palmed himself. She giggled. "How long..?"
"Long enough.", she waved it aside dismissively. "I know you're nervous..but it's going to be okay. ...I love you. I don't think anything you or I could say would ever change that.."
She hugged him close and had to keep from laughing as she heard the small, wolfish whine in the back of his throat. Hesitantly he hugged her back. And after a moment he clung to her a little like she was a lifeline. Like if he let go, this..all of this..would suddenly disappear and the world would return to the way it was yesterday.
"..I'm glad you told me..", she said softly.
"...I just...want you to be happy.", he replied.
"I'm happiest when I'm with you.", she pulled back and smiled at him again.
He felt a smile tug on his lips too.
"...Really?"
"Yes.."
They drew in for another kiss, just as sweet and romantic as the first. Their faces radiated with warmth when they pulled away and they delicately touched foreheads together and shared a shy smile.
"...I love you.", Aisha said again.
"..I love you too."

Honestly I thought RP-1 (knight made of shadows) was Batman and RP-2 (perfectly mimicking a human child) was Robin before reading the tags.
I thought this was a “Batfam seen as cryptids” situation with the GIW thinking all the Robins are the same individual instead of an identity that was passed down.
Which meant it needed to be contained yesterday.
“Send out the teams- I want this thing in Site X Now!”
#dcxdp#dpxdc#prompts#why yes the reaper entity is jason#the other two are fright knight & danny#there’s only 1 higher level of threat/rarity for ghosts#king class is what cw & pariah are classed as & the giw are very relieved they seemingly can’t leave the zone#y’know i’m just realizing this feels very scp-esque#look it’s called the ghost investigation ward#they definitely don’t care about dissecting things like blob ghosts (or common ghosts they’re sure there’s thousands of)
