god it’s always that fucking girl marlon. do you guys like marlon or what

anyways she’s a housewife plain and simple. she does not work nor does she want to. I don’t think tillyadrian HAVE to work but they want to because it’s fun(demented). tilly is a private chef and adrian is a blacksmith(not the cool kind that makes weapons he makes like windowlocks and doorknobs). marlon is obsessed with cleaning and cleans meticulously, everyday, all day long. on her hands and knees scrubbing…. using a toothbrush…. she mixes like five different cleaning products together and creates mustard gas and locks herself in her bedroom while she calls poison control. funniest part of her entire day

I think she also single-handedly handles all finances in the relationship I’m so sorry those two don’t do SHIT with bills. let alone multiplying shit. ask them what 8x12 is and they’ll look at you like you have lobsters coming out of your ears

The moon is high in the sky, its silver light filling up the bedroom — but Mikasa can't bring herself to sleep. Her mind is wandering as she feels the urge to see whether or not the front door and all the windows in the house are locked up. Having done it a couple of times already, there is still a thought lingering at the back of her head, keeping her awake. Maybe she forgot to close shut one of the windows, Mikasa thinks to herself, then it means that someone could easily... She needs to check it, right now.

Getting out of the bed as swiftly as possible, Mikasa exits the bedroom and makes a round around the house, coming up to every window. Fiddling with every windowlock, checking and double checking the latches finally puts her mind at relative, very unstable peace. Her movements light, Mikasa returns to the bedroom and settles down on the bed but sleep still doesn't come to her. Instead, her eyes are now on her husband's face to gaze at his fine features. His sides heaving with each deep breath he takes, quiet snuffles reaching her ear — Jean seems to be asleep. Mikasa extends her palm to move a strand of his hair away from his face.

"Please get some rest," Jean lets out a groan as soon as he feels her touch.

Mikasa is quick to pull her hand away. In the dim lighting she can see Jean's eyes, forced open, soft shine to them.

"I didn't mean to wake you up," the corners of her lips curled in a forced smile.

"You didn't," Jean argues, yawning as if to prove his own statement. "If my wife is awake then so am I"

He spends a few moments studying her face, having propped himself up on an elbow for a better look. His gaze, intent as always despite the late hour, makes Mikasa want to avert her eyes from him since she feels guilty for keeping him up at night. She feels Jean's palm stroking her shoulder, the warmth of his fingers in a stark contrast to her cold skin.

"Mikasa," he calls out to her, "Why are you not sleeping? It happens every night to you. You're in our house, safe with me. I am always here to protect you, don't you know it?"

"It's not me I'm worrying about," Mikasa admits begrudgingly, her voice as weak as it can get.

Having said those words, she looks up at Jean, a confused expression on his face. He has his eyes glued to her in anticipation of an explanation.

"I mean," she sttuters under his gaze, "It's happened two times already. People that I care about being taken away from me. For the longest time I only had Armin by my side," her tone turns from unsure to gentle as pleasant memories come up in her mind, "And then, as if out of nowhere, I have a husband and parents-in-law now."

Mikasa lapses into the silence of reminiscence — the Kirstein family welcomed her with open arms. When Jean and her would visit his parents, the way Mr. and Mrs. Kirstein take care of her and make sure their daughter-in-law is comfortable instills a familiar sense of warmth in Mikasa, the same one she often experienced as a little girl. At the same time as a shadow of ice-like fear creeps up on her.

"But every time I look at you, I can't help but to remember... What if the same thing happens? For the third time?" she clutches Jean's hand to her chest, her fingers squeezing his. "I can't afford it"

Mikasa can feel the matress collapsing under Jean's weight as he scoots closer to her, his lips pressing against her forehead.

"I can't imagine your state right now," Jean replies honestly, for a lack of a better answer, "It pains me to see how you worry about me," he mutters as his hand runs through Mikasa's hair, "But let's put it this way. I'm a trained soldier, a veteran, leader of a squadron, top of the range, master of my trade," Jean curls a finger with each title he so generously gives himself, a feigned expression of vanity on his face, "And I'm talented, smart and handsome, to boot"

Jean's words bring a shy smile to Mikasa's face. A content sigh escapes her lips as she nuzzles into the crook of his neck.

"Who in their right mind would try and bring me down?" the tone of his voice playful.

Mikasa remains silent, falling back to her nightmare-like memories.

"Look, you don't have to go through this alone. And you won't," Jean gently nudges her to pull away from the cuddle so that their eyes interlock, "We will pull through everything together, as a couple. And later, if we have children, no one would even dare to go near them since their parents would be such a menace"

"If we have children?" Mikasa wrinkles her nose in a desperate attempt to hold back a smirk.

"Oh, I'm sorry, when we have children," Jean reaches to Mikasa's stomach, looking up at her for permission, and lays his hand on her flat abdomen, brushing his thumb against her soft skin, "I can't wait to meet them, our kids. Even if they are not in the near future"

Mikasa only nods in accord, her limbs getting heavy and her eyelids becoming droopy as a haze covers her vision.

"Feeling sleepy now?" this sounds more like a statement rather than a question as Jean drapes a blanket over her, covering her whole body.

Her breathing deep and steady now, Mikasa finally falls asleep.
