Hello, I have a question. Are the ship names for Xiao Fuxuan x Wu Xingxue from Shangxian by Mu Su Li and Xuan Min x Xue Xian from Copper Coins by Mu Su Li both Xuanxue? Thank you.
Yeah, they're both xuanxue, but they have different characters and different pronunciations.
Xiao Fuxuan's name is 萧复暄
Wu Xingxue's name is 乌行雪
Xuanmin's Dharma name is 玄悯
Xue Xian's name is 薛闲
So the shangxian ship name is 暄雪, pronounced xuānxuě, so the xuan is pronounced with a high tone and the xue is pronounced with a low, round tone.
And the tongqian ship name is 玄薛, pronounced xuánxuē, so the xuan is pronounced with a rising tone (ie the way you would indicate you're asking a question in english), and the xue is pronounced with a high tone.
You can input the characters into google translate and have the automated voice say is out loud to get the pronunciation audio, too.

chapter 60, fragmented souls
Unseen Immortal of Three Hundred Years:
All he knows, his life began from innumerous fragmented souls, and in the bodies of different souls, he sees the incomplete happiness and despair of the mortals he embodied. Rootless, fountless, and without a place to belong. He was that itinerant cultivator, lifting a lamp and keeping vigil in the night. He were those few disciples held captive for the terrible heinousness in their destined fates, he were those spirits of the past, standing silent and still, among the depths of the great monumental headstones. In the chilling, timeless fog on that mount of war casualties, he remained for many, many years, until the masqueraded king of lings comes, breaking through the mist… Countless iterations of lives and deaths, countless threads of fate, displaced and disarrayed. He remembers every iteration, and every iteration he watches. In the end, he could recognise that person by the silhouette. Even so, now as the man asks him “which of those were you”, he still doesn’t know how to answer. Xiao Fuxuan looks at Wu Xingxue with his gaze downcast, and after a long while raises his hand to the corner of his mouth. Who was I… I were those many people in the iterations. You walked countless times into that fog of the mountain of corpses. You killed me, saved me, beheld me; you passed by me, missing me. — chapter 60, fragmented souls
I'm pretty sure there's an actual translation of this but I love it too much and of course I should work but am procrastinating too much so instead I find an excerpt to translate.
Previous translation is this, panguan also from mu su li. Might as well make this a series if I keep on procrastinating.
ETA: Okie so from novelupdates (link!) wonder novels seems to be doing a translation but they're not up to Ch60 yet; I think @beneaththebrim has the entire novel translated so if you're interested :D

i found the full list on douban. anyone who's interested can take a look at this original post here. i was right, yu hewei is in top 10 (i guessed 5 right in the top 10 in fact: jin dong, zhang ruoyun, hu ge, zhang yi, yu hewei)
this list is updated till april 25, 2025, so it's super current.
the unit for the 2nd column in the op is thousand million. and it's cumulative views instead of average per drama, so i know technically, the more dramas you filmed, the more advantage you have. the percentage in the last column means the percentage of being the 1st lead. otherwise, you are 2nd lead.
to be fair, some actors with high viewership was omitted because they have not taken any new projects for a few years. some other actors are taken out of the list due to controversy on the accuracy of the data. so this list is by no means a complete summary of the actor situation in c-ent, BUT, it's still good for comparative purpose.
#1. 550 thousand million views - jin dong (15 dramas)
#2. 380 - zhang ruoyun (9)
#3. 340 - hu ge (3) = zhao youting (5) = feng shaofeng (10)
#6. 330 - zhang yi (10)
#7. 320 - luo jin (16) = ren jialun (18)
#9. 300 - lin gengxin (5) = yu hewei (10)
#11. 290 - chen xiao (16)
#12. 280 - huang jingyu (12) = xu kai (15)
#14. 260 - lu yi (7)
#15. 240 - chen jianbin (7)
#16. 230 - zhong hanliang (5) = yang yang (6)
#18. 220 - huang xuan (9) = wu lei (10) = bai jingting (11) = tong dawei (13)
$22. 210 - chen weiting (7)
#23. 200 - pan yueming (14) = zhu yawen (7)
#25. 190 - lei jiayin (6) = xiao zhan (7) = li xian (7) = zhang luyi (9)
#29. 180 - wang kai (6) = zeng shunxi (12) = zhang binbin (11)
#32. 170 - wang yibo (8) = cheng yi (9)
#34. 150 - huang xiaoming (8) = chen baoguo (5)
36. 140 - dou xiao (8) = qin hao (12)
38. 130 - zhu yilong (6) = yang xuwen (10)
40. 120 - luo yunxi (9) = wang hedi (9) = bai yu (12) = zhang jiayi (15) = zhang guoli (6)
45. 110 - guo jingfei (11) = hou minghao (12)
47. 100 - ou hao (13)
48. 90 - zhang wanyi (9) = nie yuan (8)
50. 80 - guo qilin (5) = song weilong (9) - ding yuxi (10) - zhang linghe (10)
54. 70 - chen zheyuan (11) = wang yang (7)
56. 60 - chen xingxu (9) = zhang xincheng (11)
58. 50 - chen feiyu (5)
59. 40 - jing boran (4)
i have no idea so many of these so called young popular actors/traffic stars are doing so badly in terms of viewership LOLLOLOL...i think we often forget about the fact that the vast majority of people don't go online every day and express how much they like an actor/a show.
you know...i know zhang luyi is a reputable actor, but i never have any solid idea on how popular he is. i always just assumed that he'd be ranked somewhere in the middle in terms of popularity because of his lack of social media presence.
but this rank thing wowed me (thanks to the douban users who are so into stats). it is the online streaming viewership rank for male actors' shows from 2017 to present, and only shows where the actor is the 1st or 2nd lead are included. and zly ranked 27 which i think is pretty high, and it definitely should be considered as top tier.
he actually ranked higher than some super popular young actors and/or traffic stars. can you believe he ranked higher than #31? i'm so shocked.
Tumblr media
so being traffic stars really means nothing than winning online fan wars. all that social media popularity really means sh*t when it comes to if people will actually stream your shows LOLLOLLOL
i will go find the fully list on douban. i'm sure yu hewei ranks even higher (maybe he's in top 10).

The irony is,
when she asked him to kill Gujian so that he’ll have to live with the guilt of killing his own relative like her, he couldn’t.
But later when she begged him not to kill Gujian, he did right in front of her because of his jealousy.

so y’all know im a huge fan of Mu Su Li (木苏里)’s works (incl Global Examination, Copper Coins, etc)
Well, she’s been updating her newest novel on jjwxc, 不见上仙三百年 (Unseen Immortal of 300 Years)
This is a cultivation xianxia setting!! With immortals and ghosts and cultivators! Ship is powerful immortal (上仙) x dangerous ghost (魔头), & starts off with a transmigration premise: think svsss type setup, but tgcf type ship
Synopsis: Tens of thousands of demons in this world roam; half call the city of Zhaoye home. As for the other half, they’ve all died in Canglang North Territory, controlled by the Tiansu Immortal Xiao Fuxuan. Only one demon has been imprisoned for twenty-five years and still lives— the chief of Zhaoye City, Wu Xingxue.
I’ve been really loving it so far, so I thought I’d give the translation a shot (no promises tho shebwkwlwl)
Chapter 1 is up!

chapter 84, wildfires
Unseen Immortal of Three Hundred Years (shangxian)
He looks at his frosted fingers. Through the translucence, the cool, white light evinces. He replies, “I am looking… I am looking at the blood it has stained.”
The spectre answers, “There is blood? It looks clean. Plainly so.”
He laughs again. His gaze centres on the depths of the eyelashes, and in the shadows no light passes through. He says, “It’s only that you cannot see it.”
The spectre asks, “Then only you can see it?”
“Yes.”
“How much blood?”
“… too much.”
To much, so much that it is hard to count. But even though it is hard to count, he remembers everything.
It shouldn’t be. His memory couldn’t be considered exceptional, and for many things, he glances at them and lets them pass. They rarely get to his heart. Yet he remembers, clearly and patently, the mortals he killed with his sword. Every profile, every pair of eyes that closes, every time he feels the thrumming life weaken and quiet, slowly fade out and finally return to the eternal void — he remembers every instance with clarity.
The silence of death stands out from every silence in the world. It makes all clamour and vivacity come to a stop, it immures people in the endless fog, as if besides himself, there is no other man.
As such, in the depths of the stillness, he has never had a good night of rest.
It makes him think of the many moments of people dying.
Now, with thousands of souls crying wailing ceaseless above his head, he still gets caught in the confines of the silence that only death feels.
It's the kind of overbearing desolation across his earth. He laughs standing amidst.
He hears the spirits murmuring speculations, saying to him, “You seem to have black fog over your body.”
Wu Xingxue scrutinises himself and agrees, “I see it.”
It is black, smoke and fog apparitions encircling his fingers, arms, shoulders, and even his whole. The black fog makes the spirits cower a little. They are half fearful, half disgusted, and again the scene descends into agitation. The entire enclosure stirs to an incessant rising sea of fury.
They ask, “What is that!?”
“What is that abomination!”
Wu Xingxue gazes quietly at the black air twining about his whole. He answers after a long while. “It’s the air of the evil.”
This is one of the distinct paradoxes in the world — the limpid, ethereal aura of the xian and the winding, convoluted strands of the evil mo aura materialising on the same person — and to have it appear on the king of lings, it feels like the greatest irony.
And yet really it is the most congruent thing of all.
Really, there is nothing more harmonious…
he says in his heart.
Is there some devil that kills more than him on this earth? On what grounds — to have stained the same immeasurable volumes of blood, those mo’s would have been exterminated beyond repair. And yet regally he sits atop the nine ethers of the skies, anchored and firmly watching over humanity.
On what grounds — all because that Dao of the skies demands compassion and iniquity, demands blessings and calamities?
This isn’t fair.
— chapter 84, wildfires
original excerpt:
