Alright, after a lame previous year, the musical scene really rebounded in Year 2012. Such a great year, with so many strong offerings to choose from. I will always look back at the 90's as the golden age of music because it's the music of my childhood and early teen years, but this year was definitely close to some of the best years from the 90's.

I also think this is one of the strongest top 10 lists I've ever put together, I've been listening to some of these songs so much they'll probably end up on my Wrapped of 2025. Especially the top 3 is just exquisite, great songs from Lana, Marina and Beach House. 'Myth' was always going to be my song of the year when I realized it came out in 2012.

Apparently, Beach House have pulled their 'Myth' video from YouTube, so I'm afraid we'll have to do without the winning video for this year. Oh well. A great year nonetheless, and I have no idea whether 2013 will be better or worse!

13 years ago today, a brand new cartoon aired for the first time on Disney Channel. It would eventually spawn 2 incredible seasons, 17 hilarious shorts, 3 NY Times bestselling books and become the first Disney TVA cartoon to be sold on Blu-ray.

Happy 13 year anniversary of the premiere of Gravity Falls! The show is now as old as Dipper and Mabel were at the end of it. And yet despite all the years, it's more alive than ever! As Jason Ritter said, Gravity Falls is real and it will NEVER die!

it's going to take a while for me to finalize my playlist of Year 2012 because it's just a bloody good year with so many great offerings. I do have my song of the year set from the moment I realized said song came out in 2012, but other spots on the playlist are still up for grabs.

but before I pat the music industry on the shoulder, we should also remember that 2012 is the year of gangnam style. I had somehow blissfully forgotten about that abomination. for people looking for explanations regarding South Korea's plummeting birth rates and political instability, look no further. gangnam style is the moment when everything started to spiral downwards.
