lacking community is what right wing extremists need to separate us, to dehumanise anyone different than you, but if we talk to each other on a human basis, we can see how we are not so different.

If you listen to those who have spent time in right wing spaces, a huge part of it is about needing community. You'd be surprised how rich in community extremist spaces are.

Its not nice to empathise with and try to understand people who hate you, but its the only way to fight facism and to make change

Do you think that a rebellion means that all of the MAGA, reformists whatever, suddenly turn to your ideology? Wouldnt fight against you, vote against you?

You NEED to connect with different sorts of people to make change. we need community to thrive, we need love to fight hate.

So in short, anti community is not the left wing woke take you think it is, its heavily right wing, its helping the extremists.

Me too!! normally if a stranger engages with me in public they will end up calling police on me due to my autistic behaviours. But I understand its not about me.

in the long run, it would help me for the public to be pro community, and strike up conversations with everyone, that they know so many members of their community so could help me if they saw me in need of help, without calling police. Thats whats left wing! Not everyone only knowing their little group of people like them

And if you want to call it "ableist" to converse with strangers, there has been times, i would have died, if a stranger didnt come and help me, and strike up a conversation unprompted.

You know what is really so much worse for me? Times when ive been lying down on the street alone unable to move in the freezing cold, and people just walked past because they were so individualistic they didnt want their day to be changed, thats what harms me.

Anti community and extreme individualism harms disabled people, especially significantly disabled people who have no other choice than to rely on strangers for care, much more than people willing to strike up a conversation with strangers.

Im just so sick of this anti community rhetoric going around in the left wing community, you want a rebellion but you dont even know your next door neighbours name, you dont even know your community?!

Im not talking about individual people, if you cant do these things for xyz reasons that is great, i cant do most these things too, but i understand when people are pro community they arent talking about me, someone who cant engage with most people irl, and i understand its so much more than me.

Me - AU was my idea 💡!(and Arty-e if you are seeing this don’t get mad at me please 🙏—I am not making fun of anyone’s artwork or stories but I just wanted to make an AU for fun 🤩 and because I am bored)

Explanation—

Arty-e if you are reading this, I have always loved 🥰 Cards…And I want to make an AU where Kamir had lived(in this AU he ends up surviving the arrow but is too weak to lead his soldiers and has some battle wounds from his first year on the front—he is in his 40s right???—my guess would be 45-49 by the way he looks in the comics…I am putting this in as a factor because personally I have seen women and men in their forties having issues) and Alvis stands in for him as 4 of hearts!

This is the scene where he(Alvis) is introducing/embarrassing himself to his father’s soldiers but instead in this scene—it would be Kamir’s antics and Alvis gets embarrassed 😳 by his father’s antics…because we both know(since I am rereading Cards I think this scene would have made sense if Kamir had lived—And you created him—he is a himbo and dumbass at times…but it still happens even after Kamir death) this would happen right…

Here is a rewrite of the speech and the scene—Alvis was supposed to give the speech but from Kamir’s perspective if he was alive—

She's just too generally benevolent imo :/ the most mischievous she ever gets is when she goes along with the spirit saying there's going to be a war but in general her reputation does NOT hold up she isnt ever conniving or cruel which i mean. You could say that that is because it is a constructed thing within the games own lore but idk. They introduced her as a character with teeth and then it felt like they filed them down afterwards like pleaseee hoyo give us mean characters please

I'm reading gathering moss by Dr. Kimmerer and it's already almost made me cry like, three times. she's such a powerful writer and she taps into an appreciation and understanding of the natural world that I felt was a really valuable and important complement to my empirical biology education. I read braiding sweetgrass a few years ago and I'm pretty sure that one made me cry too. definitely recommend, even if you're not into science at all - they're very readable and you learn so much abt indigenous frameworks to approach, respect, learn from, and understand the natural world

It's a miracle, really, that Aiden had caught him when he did. Ten minutes later and Fannar probably would have given him a heart attack by being completely unrousable — born of a land constant frought with earthquakes, he's learned to sleep through everything. Everything. It's a bit of a problem (though at least, kind of a funny one).

He's in the back of the car — mercifully, a 4x4 big enough to house two on any given occasion. He awakens almost immediately, although a little blearily; but when he grasps why he's been woken, he's sitting bolt upright and going for the door handle.

It's ice and snow around them, but lupines peek through the white. The wind is still. And overhead, the Northern Lights: green, purple, red. Oh, it's a good one!

"Ah! Yes! Shit, I'm so glad we're here for this," he grins, shoving his hands deep into his pockets and grinning across to Aiden. For Fannar, even after all this time, the excitement of the northern lights has never faded. Not even slightly. He's positively beaming as he asks, "Have you ever seen them before? The lights?"

progress is being made with Cor! made it through that Arabella conversation without killing her, but did accidentally kill a poor squirrel, as well as successfully broke into and looted the crypt! also Cor is the proud owner of a slightly fancier warhammer. (don't remember what it's called, but it's one of the uncommon ones and looks cooler than her default hammer)

Cor has ended up sorting everyone she meets into a few basic categories:

Enemies (aka, killable. her primary rivals are the mindflayers that did this (whatever this is) to her, but she's going to come to hate the Absolute soon, and will always take the chance to murder a goblin/knoll/anything that's going to hurt people)

Mine (allies, literally just the companions. Like Her. she's very internally protective of all of them–not necessarily possessive, but like. those are Her People to protect and avenge (for the tadpoles, initially half the reason why she swore her Oath of Vengeance). she's going to be in for a shock when she meets the other infected and they're part of the Absolute)

To Be Protected (she has sorted all children into this category, because in her limited experience, they apparently can not fight for themselves. those who can not fight should be protected, if they are not Enemies. it just feels... right, and she has nothing to rely on but her feelings (and the reverse of the Urge ones. i'm realizing spite is a motivator for her), and the approval of Hers. her role model atm is primarily Lae'zel but Wyll is rapidly coming to be important as well, and he was helping those kids when she first met him, which ended up making a massive impression on her)

Neutral. she must not kill them, but most of the time she doesn't particularly care about them (lie. she has more inherent compassion than she wants to admit. still probably less than average, but she's learning). this is the hardest category for her, in particular because, as Cor is coming to learn, Threat does not immediately mean Enemy, which is especially bad for the Urge.

at the moment i think she has medium/high approval of Lae'zel. Cor already liked Lae'zel, but now Lae'zel's advice re: the Urge was already what Cor had internally decided to do, and Cor most definitely appreciates another person agreeing with her. she trusts Lae'zel, and is glad she approves of bloody vengeance directed at the right people. Cor also likes Wyll, probably medium approval. she does not fully get him, but she likes his overall philosophy, plus has a bit of a crush after watching him skewer those goblins. Cor is running heavily on instinct, and he seems Good to her

she also has medium/neutral with Astarion, who does not like her back (-2 approval from him atm :'C ). she liked him a lot at his first introduction, but he's not being particularly interesting yet and was weird (read: tried to flirt with her) the other night. she was not into it.

she has neutral approval of Gale, up from -1 to like 10/15. she didn't like that he dismissed her concerns when she brought up the Urge, but he's still one of Hers. also she doesn't totally get the "absorbing magic items" thing, but she understands that it must happen for him. she wasn't really swayed in her opinion of him by the compliments in the conversation, she mostly just thought he was really, REALLY wrong about her, but now feels extra protective over him

she also has mixed feelings on Shadowheart, bc Shadowheart seems to have mixed feelings on her. i think it may have been a glitch? but she was kind of really rude at camp (on Neutral approval) and then i started a long rest and she was immediately moderately nice, and it confused Cor. she doesn't know how to feel about her yet. although, between Shadowheart's hand and Gale's orb, Cor is starting to think that a significant portion of people have some chronic, possibly magical injury. this is not helping her with her theories about the amnesia and massive headaches. also, funnily enough, Cor just keeps passing every passive history check she makes, so that is another red herring re: her backstory
