If she was the goddess, he would be one of the many devoted mortals in her temple, worshipping and sing praises of her. He would devote his whole life to her, offering the best of everything. Yet, she would always treat him the same, just like everyone, she cares for him as how a goddess would care for her followers. She could be a listening ear, a shelter, a friend but never a lover, for a goddess's love is different from the love of a mortal. No matter how much he gives, his love and affections will never be reciprocate in the way he desires. Nonetheless, just like a mere mortal who fell in love with the goddess, he devotes himself to her, pouring his heart out to her.
