Vol 2 could be Dredd, Dante, Anderson, The Out (Let's go for a newer less expected story.), and A.B.C warriors.
Vol 3 could be a Dredd related volume, Missionary man, Devlin, Lawless, Death and Cursed Earth Koburn.
I was watching that animated 2000ad advert on YouTube and one of the comments there hit on the best idea for a 2000ad movie
An animated anthology.
Any thoughts?
I would absolutely adore it. A big ol' Heavy Metal-style anthology, especially with some of the studios you got nowadays, would kick all the ass in the world.
Far as lineups go tho', I'd like to see Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Nemesis the Warlock, Strontium Dog and mmmaybe Zombo for a newer strip (and some comedy). At least for vol 1.

It’s just a brief appearance, barely even a cameo, but the sight of Nemesis the Warlock in the final Prog of 2017 was quite an exciting one. He’s probably unlikely to make a comeback, since Mills has already told his story quite completely, but at least his connection to the A.B.C. Warriors allows this little flashback scene.
Langley’s art is something I can love or leave, and this combination of Deadlock and Nemesis definitely falls into the former category- the overall darkness of the page, getting brighter as Nemesis ascends (as per the summoning the narration refers to) trailed by his red cloak, linking the implied fires of hell with a brighter heaven above, seems to tell a complete story. Nemesis towering over Deadlock, visible in the light while the A.B.C. Warrior is more shadow than clear form, suggests the Warlock’s mission of enlightenment (of a sort), which ended up- in narrative terms- setting the Warriors on a more Khaotic path than they had followed prior to his encounters with them.
The reference to merging highlights the puzzling history of the two, where Nemesis claimed that he was the incarnation of Khaos, and that when Deadlock had sought out his god, he had found Nemesis and the two had become one. During the Black Hole story, Deadlock reappeared, suggesting Nemesis lied (again). And yet Deadlock also later made a similar claim, even though both characters were present at the same time.
Are they somehow two sides of the same coin, one light, the other dark- at least in relative terms, as neither are particularly good or noble? The image suggests this- it also implies Deadlock being of the earth and Nemesis of the air, one grounded and one free to soar, cast as opposites in several ways- also robot against flesh and blood; Deadlock’s weaponless hands against Nemesis’s sword; shape of man against shape of demon- but perhaps representing a form of unity when combined, a merging of these opposites into one symbolic whole- perhaps a representation of chaos as they are both opponents of order?

ABC Warriors
ABC Warriors is a feature in the UK comic-book series 2000 AD written by Pat Mills. It first appeared in program (issue) 119 in 1979 and continues to run as of 2018. Art for the opening episodes was by Kevin O'Neill, Mike McMahon, Brett Ewins, and Brendan McCarthy, who among them designed the original seven members of the team. Since then they have been illustrated primarily, though not exclusively, by Bryan Talbot, Simon Bisley, SMS, Kevin Walker, Henry Flint and Clint Langley.
The A.B.C. Warriors are a team of war robots designed to withstand 'Atomic', 'Bacterial' and 'Chemical' warfare. They were built to take part in the long-running Volgan War, which Mills had described in several previous 2000 AD strips, including Invasion! and Ro-Busters. Each robot has a distinctive personality – often one programmed by its human creators – but each is more or less able to act with free will.

Nemesis the Warlock has been my favorite fictional character since I was able to read English. I loved reading his stories in the 2000AD progs alongside Judge Dredd and the A.B.C. Warriors. I hope people will read his stories and get to know him.

In Review: 2000AD Prog 2070
In Review: 2000AD Prog 2070
Brains in jars? All-out robot battles? creeping horror in Mega-City One? if only one of those concepts tickles your fancy, then it’s more than enough for you to pick up 2000AD Prog 2070, which comes with a thoroughly spooky, haunting cover from Dave Taylor. Judge Dredd is investigating weirdness thats arrived, Quatermass-style, in a ship frm space, and the body count is climbing already. I’m…

My Strange Adventure through 2000AD
For those who don’t know, 2000AD is an ongoing British comic anthology that ran the gambit on the genres, everything from science fiction to horror with a healthy dose of witty British satire.
Tumblr media
The magazine is also the home of Judge Dredd.  The original Judge Dredd comic books from 1979 are essential reading for fans of Political Satire, Cyberpunk, Neo Noir, Cosmic Horror, Multiverse Stories, Westerns and so much more.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the Fantastic Four and the Godfather franchise had a baby? If that’s the case, the comic known as the Family is up right up your alley, combining superhero action with the elegance and pageantry of classic gangster films to create an epic drama unlike anything you have seen before.
Another classic is Armored Gideon. What else can I say except it is about a steam punk giant robot who battles demons. Even though I like giant robots and dark fantasy I don’t find it all that interesting.
Void Indigo is essentially Back to The Future mixed with Men in Black. Chronicling the life-threatening adventures of secret agents tasked with maintaining the stability of the space time continuum. An office dramedy merged with epic sci-fi, it is perfect for your time travel for your M.I.B. fix.
The A.B.C. Warriors are a trio of military robots who were designed to defend against Acidic, Biological and Chemical weaponry.
This series specializes in over-the-top violence and commentary on environmental conservation. The team also encounters a robot who is also a wizard.
