Surviving player characters and their ages
(excluding multiplayer/arcade mode characters and unlockable skins)
Assuming RE9 takes place in 2026, the release year:
Mark Wilkins will be 80 (he is the franchise's oldest playable character by birth date that we know of[1], and possibly also the oldest at time of playability at 52 [4])
George Hamilton will be 67
Barry Burton will be 66
Kevin Ryman will be 59
Billy Coen will be 54
Chris Redfield will be 53
Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, Jim Chapman, Cindy Lennox and Josh Stone will be 52
Bruce McGivern will be 51
Leon Kennedy, Carlos Oliveira, and Fong Ling will be 49
Yoko Suzuki will be 48
Claire Redfield will be 47
Rebecca Chambers will be 46
Ashley Graham and Mia Winters will be 42
Sherry Birkin and Sheva Alomar will be 40
Moira Burton will be 35
Jake Muller will be 34
Zoe Baker will be 32
Natalia Korda will be 25 (she is the youngest character by age at time of playability, at 10)
Rosemary Winters will be 6 (she is the youngest playable character by birth date[2])
Alyssa Ashcroft would be 56, having died at 48 [3]
The wiki doesn't list even an approximate age for HUNK, Ark Thompson, David King, Parker Luciani, Keith Lumley, or Joe Baker[4]
[1] Ingrid, the protagonist of Maiden, might have been born earlier than Mark, but there's no concrete information about when it takes place, except that it must be between 1958 and 2021.
[2] Rose was born in 2020; her playable segment takes place in 2037, which would place it well after the presumed setting of Requiem, and is the latest canonical point in the franchise's timeline.
[3] Assuming this isn't a fakeout like Jill's supposed death in RE5; Alyssa is admittedly probably too minor a character for all that trouble, but yesterday I would have said she was too minor to figure into a main series title at all, and yet here we are.
[4] Joe's brother Jack was 55 in 2017, but he himself is never given an age IIRC; he may beat Mark for the title of oldest character at time of playability, but that could be down to his lifestyle having aged him.

i’m not looking for someone to save the world. i’m looking for someone to make tea.
I used to be into very different things.
Before the world cracked open—politically, personally, physically—I loved media that was big, intense, and morally weighty.
Captain America. The Winter Soldier. Black Sails.
I was deeply involved in fandoms built around epic stakes, masculine grit, and emotionally stifled characters carrying impossible burdens.
And honestly? That made sense for who I was at the time.
I was deconstructing from Christianity, and those stories became a kind of ethical scaffolding. I was walking away from a belief system that had shaped how I understood good and evil, right and wrong, sacrifice and redemption. Captain America was trying to do the right thing in a system that no longer reflected his values. That was me, too. Fandom let me explore those questions with passion, community, and even joy.
But then came real-world devastation.
Between two awful U.S. presidential elections, I was diagnosed with multiple areas of breast cancer.
I lost parts of my body to surgery.
In the middle of recovery, I lost my brother—who I had only just reconnected with. He was in his early fifties.
That’s when something changed.
I needed a new space to breathe.
I found that space in softness.
I read Wintering by Katherine May, a book about surviving dark seasons gently. I watched Helen Cryer’s peaceful YouTube art videos. I played games like Animal Crossing, Cozy Grove, and Mineko’s Night Market, where the stakes were small and the worlds were kind.
Cozy became a cultural buzzword around then—cozy cardio, cozycore—but for me, it wasn’t a trend.
It was a lifeline.
And slowly, my taste in media transformed.
I started watching BL dramas from Thailand, K-dramas from Korea. And while I don't watch much anime (Ghibli aside), I felt a deep pull toward all that was happening in Eastern storytelling in general. These shows weren’t just gentle—they were emotionally rich. They dealt with trauma, grief, queerness, isolation, longing—but they did so with care.
Where Western stories so often demand resolution through force or righteousness, these let emotions unfold. They lingered. They felt.
I didn’t just want softness—
I wanted stories that could sit in sadness without trying to fix it.
And another part of the shift surprised me:
how my sense of beauty and attraction changed.
In my Marvel era, I admired actors like Sebastian Stan and Chris Evans—broad-shouldered, hypermasculine, rooted in a very Western ideal of physical strength. But I’ve since realized that what I often called “attraction” was actually admiration. I wasn’t yearning. I was analyzing.
Now, I find myself drawn to something entirely different: the softness, fluidity, and expressiveness of many BL actors and K-pop idols. It’s not just about being pretty—it’s about presence. About vulnerability. About being seen in ways that aren’t armored.
There’s elegance and openness, and a kind of aesthetic rebellion in how these artists present themselves. They don’t just accept the feminine—they own it.
And maybe that’s not new.
Maybe it’s a return.
As a Gen X kid, I was shaped by artists like Bowie, Prince, Grace Jones and Annie Lennox.
I grew up in a world where androgyny was electric, where softness had teeth.
I lost touch with that somewhere along the line.
Now I’m coming back.
But this evolution hasn’t just been about what I don’t want—
It’s also about what I’ve found.
There’s joy here.
There’s fun in K-pop and BL, in the backstage teasing and tiktok treads, in watching entire production companies function like found families.
There’s a giddy warmth in seeing people who like each other (Or love) work and play and create together.
It’s not just that the shows and music are healing—
It’s that the people behind them are, too.
The fandoms feel different.
The stories feel different.
I feel different.
I’m not looking for someone to save the world anymore.
I’m looking for someone to make tea.
So yes. My taste changed.
Not because I got bored. Not because I gave up.
But because I lived through things that hollowed me out—
And what filled me back up wasn’t just tenderness.
It was community.
It was beauty.
It was fun.
I used to need stories that taught me how to stand strong.
Now I need stories that show me how to live full—
grief and joy, softness and sparkle, all of it.

I asked you a little while ago about Loma but now as the undisputed fight gets closer I wanted to ask you about Usyk. some people believe that what Usyk has achieved so far is an ATG case in real-time, someone went as far as to say that he's the best boxer since Floyd retired. This conversation was met with "Stop comparing him like he's some Ali" and that was met with "Why? why is it so hard to accept seeing greatness play out in real time!" I know that even Muhammed Ali received criticism during his reign for being compared to Sugar Ray Robinson so this idea of downplaying boxers during their prime isn't new and I feel the same with how Usyk is being seen. What do you think about Usyk? How do you think he compares to Holyfield as a cruiserweight who moved up HW to find success? Have you felt that as you've watched him over the years he's achieved and is currently achieving greatness?
Usyk is unquestionably one of the top fighters of the last decade and (imo) the best cruiserweight ever. Respect to Holyfield, but I think Usyk fought stiffer competition at the weight class. It was just better in the mid-2010s than it was in the 80s. And, to be fair to Holyfield, it was a new division then so it makes sense.
Usyk is one of the best boxers the sport has ever seen and a truly amazing talent. And I believe he will unify the titles at heavyweight.
THAT SAID - Usyk can't compete with Holyfield's resume at heavyweight. Like he might beat Fury twice. He might defend against Joseph Parker, Zhang, and Hrgovic but it's just not the same caliber of opposition. For as "bad" as the 90s were for heavyweight when you compare it to the late 60s/early 70s, it blew the modern field out the water. Holyfield beat Mike Tyson. Post-prison Tyson, to be sure, but still that's Mike Tyson. Holyfield didn't always win but the resume speaks for itself - Larry Holmes, Riddick Bowe, Ray Mercer, Lennox Lewis, Hasim Rahman, John Ruiz, George Foreman, Chris Byrd, etc. Not all world beaters. Not all in their prime. And again, he didn't beat everybody. But that is one hell of a resume that can't be replicated with the current field of heavyweight talent imo. I also think part of the reason the heavyweight titles are even being unified is because the field is so poor atm. It's not fair, but it's one of the tragedies of fighting. Especially at heavyweight.
Still, unifying would be a huge feather in Usyk's cap. I don't think not doing it would take anything away from what he's already accomplished though. He's an ATG, top 100 boxer of all time already imo.

Hello! I'm hoping to eventually get a chart reading with you, friend, but until then, do you have any astrology podcast recommendations?
(I enjoy your daily posts 💖)
Hello, it’s hard to do recommendations because it depends on your focus and also knowledge but overall Chris Brennan’s astrology podcast is pretty good. If you’re not well versed in terminology you may get bored or confused. For learning purposes Chani (has an app) is good and even on TikTok there are 2 astrologers that are pretty awesome. Astro Allie is fantastic. Divinemind369 is another one. Dr Michael Lennox is also amazing. I would just steer away from “pop” astrology that is too generalized. The entire birth chart matters for how things play out for all of us. I write about the mundane energies every day but as I say in every post, you need to know your chart to know how it will truly affect you. Hope this helps!

My Thoughts And Takeaways From 2024 The Grammys
The 66th Annual Grammys were last night, and I wasn’t originally going to write anything about it, but I decided to put some thoughts, because it was a relatively interesting night. Even before the ceremony itself, there were a lot of awards announced, and a few that stuck out were Paramore winning for Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Music Performance, Metallica won for Best Metal Performance, and Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit won for Best Americana Album and Best American Roots Song, and Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves winning Best Country Duo / Group Performance for their hit single “I Remember Everything.” It was a bummer that these weren’t shown, but to be fair, the awards would have been hours long if they did. I was happy with a lot of these, especially Jason Isbell winning a couple, and Paramore getting a couple, as well as Zach Bryan getting one, but I have more thoughts on Zach Bryan later. Nonetheless, I was disappointed that Metallica won the metal category, because that’s exfremely predictable, and I would have liked to see Spiritbox win, but that’s not so bad. At least Disturbed’s shitty song didn’t win. Killer Mike swept the rap categories this year, winning all three, including Rap Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, and the Song Of The Year, although he was arrested before the ceremony even began.
I really wasn’t disappointed with a lot of the pop categories, as a lot of the nominees were pretty good, such as Miley Cyrus winning her first two for “Flowers” in a couple of categories, and she did a great performance of the song, but both Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift won a few (as unsurprising as that was). Swift also announced a new album, so that was exciting, but she also made history by being the first and only artist to win Album Of The Year four times. SZA and Victoria Monet did well in the R&B categories, and Monet won in the Best New Artist category. That was good for her, but a lot of people were hoping Noah Kahan would win, especially for how big he’s blown up over the last year.
The disappointments didn’t stop there, although I was mainly disappointed in the country category, where Chris Stapleton walked away with a couple, including Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year, beating out Tyler Childers for both, unfortunately, but that’s still a win for Kentucky, as both men are from the state. The Best Country Album is where I felt as though some of the other artists got robbed, specifically Lainey Wilson winning when Zach Bryan should have got it. Aside from that, I wasn’t totally disappointed with anything else. That was the worst disappointment of the night, but for the most part, I was fine with a lot of the winners. Boygenius won a lot of awards, too, even if I don’t particularly care for them, but it was cool to see.
The performances were the real highlights of the night, though, and I was mixed on them, but only one was pretty bad. As I said earlier, Miley Cyrus did a great job, but Billie Eilish performed “What Was I Made For,” and that was a gorgeous performance, but we had a bunch more, such as Fantasia performing “Proud Mary” as a Tina Turner tribute, Tracy Chapman and Luke Combs performing “Fast Car,” SZA performing “Kill Bill,” and a medley of performances to honor musicians and important figures in music that passed away last year, including Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, Jon Batiste, and like I said, Fantasia. For the first time, Afrobeat was performed on the show, thanks to Burna Boy performing “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” with 21 Savage and Brandy, but that was such a short performance. It was better than Travis Scott’s bewildering performance, but the best one of the night was Joni Mitchell performing for the first time on the show, as well as winning one for the first time with a best folk album win.
Billy Joel performed his new song for the first time anywhere last night, and it was an okay song, but the most interesting part of the night was when Jay-Z came up to accept some achievement award, and he decided to make it a rant about the Grammys and how they cheated Beyoncé, apparently. She has the most wins of anybody, but hasn’t won Album Of The Year, and he shaded a lot of people by saying that some people don’t deserve to be in their categories, whatever that meant. He just turned it into a rant about his wife, but he started it by talking about how rap wasn’t taken seriously by the Grammys at first, then it devolved how his wife wasn’t nominated this year. A lot of the Grammys is based on what’s popular, unfortunately, and Beyoncé did release an album last year, it just wasn’t popular enough. I also don’t think she’s released anything that great, either, at least in terms of albums, but there is a slight point that could have been made, although he made it a rant about how his wife didn’t get one. It doesn’t mean anything, and Miley said later when she won her second Grammy for “Flowers” that it doesn’t mean anything, and you aren’t any less important if you don’t have one.
I haven’t watched the Grammys in a long time, but I wanted to watch it last night, because the nominees were all pretty good, and it ended up being an enjoyable time. The Grammys still don’t mean anything overall, but it seems like better music is started to be nominated again and be recognized. Nothing made me as mad as when Macklemore won best rap album instead of Kendrick Lamar in 2014, but it was a good time. The performances were good, and the nominees themselves were good, at least for the most part. I was happy I watched it, even if there was a commercial break every five minutes, but because it was live, they had to do that to get ready for the next performance. It was worth checking out, and I’m overall not disappointed this year, so hopefully next year’s even better.

Chris Eubank Jr defeats Conor Benn in thrilling 12-round battle CHRIS EUBANK JR DEFEATS CONOR BENN BY UNANIMOUS DECISION 🙌 pic.twitter.com/fGGwB92uZI — Sky Sports Boxing (@SkySportsBoxing) April 26, 2025 Chris Eubank Jr. edged out Conor Benn in a gripping 12-round battle at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, winning by unanimous decision in a fight that lived up to decades of hype. Fighting at a catchweight of 160lbs after much pre-fight controversy, Eubank Jr overcame early pressure from the explosive Benn, gradually asserting control as the bout wore on. Despite a fierce late rally from Benn, Eubank’s heavier shots and late-round dominance earned him the victory, with all three judges scoring it 116-112. The thrilling contest, fought in front of a roaring crowd and under the watchful eyes of their legendary fathers, Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn, ended with both men swinging wildly, exhausted but unbowed. The night was packed with drama both inside and outside the ring, as the old rivalry between the families flared once again, culminating in a moment of unity with the fathers embracing before the fight. Despite the loss, Conor Benn’s spirited performance won him the crowd’s admiration, with promoter Eddie Hearn hailing him as “the people’s champion” and hinting at a possible rematch. Eubank Jr., who was taken to the hospital for precautionary checks after the brutal contest, expressed pride in carrying the family legacy, saying, “We upheld the family name.” With both fighters delivering a modern classic, the sons of two boxing legends carved out a new chapter in their storied history. Lennox, who signed with Dreamville in 2015 as the label’s first female artist, leaves behind a legacy that includes her 2016 debut EP “Pho” and her critically acclaimed 2019 album “Shea Butter Baby.” 2. Ari Lennox Is Shining In Her Soft Girl Era
youtube
Watch Ari Lennox cheer for her "Soft Girl Era" in the official video. Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox produced "Soft Girl Era," and they have given it a throwback feel with a sample of The New Birth's "You Are What I'm All About," famously sampled in the Junior Mafia's "Players Anthem." Video director Chris Robinson taps into that energy with a visual of Lennox surrounded by her team of dancers, all of them in colors that pop and change, reminiscent of Lil Kim's "Crush On You" video. Lennox was just seen performing at the Dreamville Festival. Lennox announced "Soft Girl Era" back in February on her Instagram page when she was in the studio recording it and she also revealed that an album to follow Age/Sex/Location is on the way.

It was so nice to finally be finished.
Under normal circumstances, you’d likely stay to enjoy the atmosphere, watch them take pictures, and maybe even go to the reception. However, your excitement about spending the rest of the day with Mr. Wonderful trumped that.
The bride and groom were a couple who happened to be out one evening a while back, and heard you perform this same song at another event with your dad.
They were adorable and sweet, and you just had to be sure to thank them for their request, especially since they had inadvertently created another moment for you that you’d end up holding dear to your heart. You chose to hang around about thirty minutes longer. As
Best Part – Daniel Caesar + H.E.R.
resonated in the atmosphere, Megumi stood by your side as you received compliments from guests for your performance, the entire time, attempting to refrain from eye contact, and hiding his expression of pride that was, at least to you, very hard to miss.
Each time yet another person praised you for your singing, he’d grin as his eyes flicked back and forth between the guest and you.
The elderly woman he sat next to happened to be in your path on the way toward the door. “Oop! There you are!” she said excitedly with her hands stretched out to receive a hug as she saw the two of you approaching.
She angled them toward Megumi, and gave him a peck on the cheek, her hands resting on his shoulder and patting it a couple of times. “Did you enjoy the ceremony young man?” she asked.
“Yes, I did. Thank you so much, Pattie” he replied, a tiny smile on his lips.
“Wonderful! Forgive me young man, I’ve forgotten your name!” she said.
“It’s Megumi. Megumi Fushiguro, Ma’am.”
You couldn’t help but smile yourself at their adorable interaction.
“Oh! Megumi! That's right! What an interesting name for such a sweet young man!” She giggled. “You must be so very proud of your beautiful wife for her performance!”
You interjected, “Um… Ma’am we–”
“I’m very proud of her.” Megumi interrupted, turning his smile toward you, eyes hooded. “Her voice is …” He took a breath, “absolutely beautiful.” He drawled, as you bit your inner lip, holding back a smile, helping yourself to not… blow his cover?
“Oh yes!” she reiterated, “and such a pretty young lady, too! What a lovely couple you are!”
“Thank you, Pattie. Aren’t you sweet?” He said, giving her a friendly hug, then turning back to lock eyes with you. You couldn’t get enough of how Megumi’s smile turned him from beautiful to breathtaking so easily.
She then turned her attention toward you. “And thank you so much for making my niece's walk down the aisle so pleasant!” She said, “you two have a lovely day, now!”
“Oh it was my pleasure, Pattie. I really appreciate that. And you, too!” You replied, as she took her soft hands and sandwiched yours between them with another warm smile. Just as
Sweet Tea – Snoh Aalegra
began to play, a familiar voice chimes in. “You should come to the reception. You could do another one for me and make me look good!” Your dad spoke loudly as he wandered over to you and Megumi.
Your smile faded a bit as your lips pressed into a hard line.
Megumi’s jaw clenched ever so slightly as your dad approached. You glanced over at him as his eyes flicked to you, giving you a quick sideways nod toward the door.
“We definitely have to go, dad. Thanks for inviting me.” You said as you turned toward your father.
“Oh … okay.” He says as his eyes scan Megumi’s frame.
“This is Megumi, dad.” You said, cutting through the building tension.
“Fushiguro”. Megumi declared pointedly holding out his hand.
Your dad followed suit as Megumi gripped it in a firm shake. “Nice to meet you.” He nodded, as chill as ever, his eye contact steady.
“Megumi is an amazing musician. He’ll be performing tonight at Nanami’s.” you interjected. “The studio I visited before was his.”
“Oh yeah?” your dad sneered, still giving him a once-over.
Megumi smirked as he stuffed his hands back into his pockets, looking your father rather intently in the eye.
“Nanami’s is a nice place. Hard to fill. I didn’t have any problem with it though!” He proclaimed with another hearty laugh.
“Actually, his shows have been sold out pretty consistently for the past few months.” you added, turning your proud smile toward Megumi.
“Really? Well, I guess I’ll have to go and check you out then, man.” He said, “see what’s really going on”. Your father chuckled.
“Yea.” Megumi replied, his lids falling ever so slightly over his blues, yet remaining fixed. “Let us know, we’ll be ready for you.”
“Okay then. I’ll see you later, daughter!”
“Bye dad,” you gave him a quick hug and headed for the door with Megumi’s hand softly pressing into the middle of your back.
*~*~*~*~*
You strolled with Megumi across the parking lot to his car, the light clicking of your heels piercing through the quiet, both of you, happy to have finally escaped before the bulk of the crowd.
As you approached it, he remained by your side. Periodically stealing glances at you every few steps.
The second you reached it, his hand slipped down, taking yours as he turned you around to face him, pressing you against the car, his hand cupping your face and his fingers around your neck as he moved in immediately for a kiss.
His lips crashed into yours as he held you close, lightly sucking your soft lips as his tongue dipped in and out of your warm mouth.
He broke the kiss for just a moment, his breath wafting down the front of your neck, his eyes raking slowly over your facial features. “I can’t wait to take you home with me.”
You tingled as you felt the pressure of his body against yours, the sound of his voice and his touch making your knees weak.
You looked up at him, your head still spinning a little. “Eeeeasy there, cowboy.” You whispered with a giggle. “We’ll get there soon enough, yea?”
Megumi huffed softly, his eyes taking in every soft curve of your face. “You were stunning up there.” He whispered as he held your face carefully in his hands. “I wanna see more”.
You blushed, “I’ve been thinking a lot about that…” you replied, having nearly drifted into the daze he so easily whisks you into. “It’s um… it’s a lot to take on. Once I start, I’ll have to commit.”
“Hmm… we’ll, you certainly have my full support.”
You took a deep breath and a long pause, your eyes wandering a moment, then, surveying his features coolly. “Then, you’ll have to commit, too.”
He huffed, rubbing the back of his hand down your cheek, his long fingers sliding around toward the back of your neck, his thumb grazing the sensitive skin of your bottom lip as he met your gaze.
“That’s the easy part. And … I’ll have you in my studio every night.” He purred, lifting your head as he leaned in, rubbing his lips up your neck, then laying a soft kiss on your lobe.
“Such a hard worker you are.” you moaned, his body weight and his touch, stealing your breath.
Megumi huffed, “You have no idea.” ...
“Oh, I think I do.” You said with a giggle, biting your lip. “And we’d better get out of here before we end up with an audience… sir.”
Megumi smirked, leaning in for one last kiss on the lips before peeling himself off of you, taking a breath, then looking you up and down.
“We should eat” he replied as he leaned in to reach behind you.
He opened the car door, closing it once you settled inside and starting it up with his fob.
I’ll Kill You – Summer Walker (Feat. Jene Aiko)
played on his system. As you sat inside the car, you notice from the side view mirror, a woman walking toward the car, then veering off in the direction of Megumi.
You lean in to the mirror, to get a better look just as she disappears from view. You reflexively look up into the rearview mirror. Just as Megumi was reaching his side of the car, she caught up with him and started to chat.
You could hear the muffled sound of their voices, and could just make out the conversation:
“Heeey!” She called out, excited, a giggle in her voice as she spoke. “Oh my god I knew you looked familiar!” She covered her mouth with her hands with a gasp.
Megumi paused, turning toward her as she approached. “Do I know you?”
“I saw you last week at Nanami’s!” She continued, “You play drums for that dope ass rock band, right? The one with the female guitarist?”
“Ah, Yeah. And Thanks.” Megumi replied as she continued.
“Wow, you are so much hotter up close!” she said, heavy emphasis on the “so”.
You feel the weight of the car shift, frowning with irritation that she was so easily able to manipulate your personal space as she leaned onto the left rear.
“You guys playing tonight?”
“We are. Show starts at 8:30. You should come out. It’ll be a good one.” He turns and heads toward the door of the car.
The woman rushes him, reaching out, grabbing his elbow to stop him. “Um… yea! I’ll be bringing my girls. I told everybody how good you are! You’re the best band in the city!”
~Well at least she got that part right
“I appreciate that.” He turns again toward the door. “See you at the show.”
She hurriedly moved closer, reaching for his arm again, “Yeah, but,”
And you can now see her clearly out the side window.
“I was uh… I was wondering if you had a girlfriend?” she asks with a huff.
~This bitch. First of all, her timing was too damn sharp. Second, if she was close enough to see him, she was close enough to see my ass, too.
“I do,” He replied,
“Well, um… I don’t see a ring?” She pressed with a soft chuckle.
~God help me not to beat somebody’s ass on a church parking lot.
Megumi scoffed, “I gotta go, We’ll see you at the show.”
“Oh, we definitely will!” She calls out as he hops in and closes the door.
He reaches for his seatbelt as he settles in, turning your direction to click it.
You’re already turned toward him, one eyebrow raised. “‘Girlfriend’ huh?” you simpered, looking him over.
Megumi smiled, peering out the corner of his eye at you, gripping your inner thigh with his hand. “Woman.” He muttered, a blush on his cheeks as he shifted gears.
*~*~*~*~*
Daddy Issues – The Neighbourhood
played on the radio. You decided to remove your shoes to change into your soft portable ones for the time being.
You slipped one of them off of your feet and suddenly a light bulb came on in your head. “Hey, you have Maki’s number, right?”
“Maki’s? Sure.” he replied, reaching for his phone. He approached a stop light, digging into his jeans for his phone. He pulled up the number and handed the whole phone over to you.
“Thanks.” You said as you plugged her number in your phone, a smile spreading across your face, not only for the opportunity to contact her, but at the prospect of him completely trusting you with his phone so very easily.
Megumi looked over at you, then back to the road, multiple times, his brow wrinkling a bit as he smiled, a look of curiosity on his face.
You presumed he was trying to decipher what you had in mind for Maki. “Don’t worry, it’s not a big deal.” You grinned as you texted her.
He worked to hold back his smile as he continued to keep his eyes on the road.
“So… Whats the plan, bae? You sighed, leaning back into your seat, your free foot curling under your calf as you turned your body toward him. “You gonna drop me off at home to change?”
“I dunno…” He muttered, glancing back at you with a frown. “Today is my day with you. I don’t think I should let you out of my sight.”
“Huh?” you replied, confused.
“Yeah.” He said as his eyebrows shot up. “You’re pretty evasive. If I don’t keep up with you, there’s a chance you won’t be at the show.”
“Oh my god.” you laughed, reaching down to unbuckle your second heel to remove it.
“You wearing those tonight?” he asked, peeking down at them, then at you.
Your Christian Louboutin stilettos were a birthday gift from your bestie.
“Why? You like these?” you asked, turning to prop the one you hadn’t taken off, up on the dashboard for him to see. You tilted your head to look at them, then averted your gaze back over to him with a smirk.
His mischievous grin more than gave him away. “If they hurt, I don’t want you to force yourself.”
“Mmm… I think I can manage wearing them tonight.” You replied, snickering at his expression. “As long as I get to sit most of the night. These are definitely not meant to wear all day long.”
“Understood. So … how about I drop you off at home, you get ready, I go home and get ready, then I come get you.”
You frowned, “You sure that’s not too much driving? You have to get your stuff right?”
He squinted, “Yes and no… Choso has a list of what I need. The guys agreed to help make sure most of the equipment is set up before I get there. I’ll have to grab a couple things from my place, but nothing major.”
He continued, looking over at you. “They really hooked me up today. When I get to Nanami’s, all I’ll have to do is tune.”
“Ok. Sounds perfect.” You said as you finished putting on your second soft flat, settling back down into your seat with a sigh.
He turned toward you, grinning, “Comfy?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Good.”
*~*~*~*~*
Since you guys were pressed for time, dinner was a quick stop at a popular deli restaurant, where you got your favorite sandwich and crinkle fries to give your body something to hold on to before you filled it with alcohol.
The two of you showed up at the venue, with Megumi taking your hand, walking you to the side door. Todo let you in again, just as he did the first night you saw their performance.
You realized it had been months since you’d seen him play a show. The atmosphere was extremely tense, and there were tons of people waiting outside at this point.
However, it felt completely different from before. For you, anyway. You walked hand in hand with not only the hottest member of this band, but the leader, the one who almost single-handedly made it happen.
Not only did you know him personally, but your relationship had grown exponentially since you met, and all you really wanted, even more than watching him play, was to know him more deeply. To be even closer.
Megumi looked like he’d just stepped out of the cover of Rolling Stone, and by all accounts, so did you. He maintained a firm grip on your hand as he walked you down the hall to the area “backstage” where they hung out.
Somehow, there were a few handfuls of people back there, some actually calling out his name, standing on their tippy toes past the bouncers as you walked in.
It was almost time. Most of the band was downstairs prepping the stage, but everyone else was in the room when you arrived; Nobara, Yuji, Nanami, and Mei. Todo went over to chat with Nanami and Mei to make sure everything was in order, and Toge was there also, possibly just waiting for Megumi.
Luchini AKA (This is It) – Camp Lo
played in on the speaker.
“Sup!” Toge said as you walked in.
“Hey Bro.” Megumi walks over to him, giving him dap and checking in.
You hugged Nobara and Yuji, then gushed over how hot Nobara looked.
“And look at you, waltzing in with the man of the hour!” Nobara said as she hugged you.
You scoffed and rolled your eyes at her comment behind a huge smile. “We had a good day today”.
Nobara leaned away from you for a moment as she called over. “Megumi! How was the event? How’d she do?” she asked, excited.
“Tch, perfect.” He replied, sliding the “ok” sign across his body with his hand, “Flawless.”
She turned back to you with a huge toothy smile on her face, as she shrugged her shoulders up excitedly. “I’m so glad he got to hear you sing!”
You couldn’t help but blush and smile from ear to ear, the feeling of having such amazing and supportive friends overwhelming you.
“By the way, it’s nuts here, right?” Nobara said with raised eyebrows.
“Crazy!” you replied, your brows wrinkling in the middle. “Even crazier than before.”
“Oh yea, it’s been a while since you’ve been back.” she glanced over to Itadori. “And we get to be backstage” she rolled her neck smugly.
“Exactly.” you agreed.
“Yup” Itadori responded, “We should head down to the bar so you guys have seats, unless you wanna stand?”
“Uh... No!” You said, putting your foot next to Nobara’s, which was also clad in a deep purple pair of stilettos similar to yours but a bit chunkier and likely much more comfy.
Nobara was wearing black ripped skinny jeans, a mauve graphic tee and a black belt with silver metal spikes. She wore various bangles & necklaces, and her makeup was perfect: nude glossy lip with a dramatic smoky eye.
Your makeup was also flawless: shimmery nude lids with a thin black liner, bottom and top, dark natural wispy lashes with a deep bold matte red lip, slightly messy mohawk ponytail, a black rock style graphic tee, knotted at the waist, a silver sequin mini and your black & red soled Louboutin’s.
“We’re definitely getting seats at the bar,” Nobara confirmed, “But… lets go get our drinks!”
“Yaass!” you raised your hands, sticking out your tongue and your fingers in the air, “time to rock out babyyyy!”
Just then, Megumi pressed past you closely, his hands landing on each side of your waist as he squeezed, “I’ll see you down there” he said looking at you out the corner of his eye as he let go, disappearing out the door with Toge and Todo.
*~*~*~*~*
You got downstairs through the back door, with Yuji closing and locking it behind you as you went down a hall toward his bar.
There were a few people inside, some you recognized considering your status as a “regular” here, though Nobara was the only one of your dynamic duo who maintained that position in the establishment for the two of you as of late.
You, Nobara and Yuji wander over to the bar, and you find your favorite seat, smack dab in the middle, where you’ve already determined Megumi could see you clearly.
Itadori had to call for reinforcements, so he had another bartender come by to help out, happy to get in on some of the extra money they’d make tonight.
You were bubbling over with excitement to be back here, in the place where you first met, able to see him from this spot through slightly different lenses, ones that have the luxurious feel of having been worn for a little while, making them far more comfortable and familiar.
You turned to Yuji with a happy little smile. “I’ll take a Blue Moon, babe.” You said to him with a wink.
Nobara smiles back at you, biting her lip and scrunching wrinkles in her nose as he slides her chilled martini glass over to her.
This stimulating feeling washes over you as you relish in the moment. You take a deep breath, inhaling oxygen laced with the faint smell of cigarettes, old wood and alcohol stains, now enhanced by some of the happiest memories you won’t soon forget.
You’re sitting with your beautifully oiled legs crossed, drawing quite the amount of attention, as they shimmer from the specks of glitter in your body butter mimicking the sequins from your silver mini, as they dip into your strappy black stilettos.
You lean back against the edge of the bar, watching your gorgeous drummer who’s also drawing a significant amount of attention to himself as well. How beautiful is he? “What a pretty boy.” You say softly to yourself.
No sooner had you thought this, than you hear a familiar voice by the front door. Todo was in the middle of childish banter with someone who insisted they were allowed to enter the building by another employee.
You were still about fifteen minutes out from doors opening, and she was adamant that her status of “knowing the band” was enough for her to break the rules.
The three of you turn your attention to Todo, his large body blocking your view of the girl in question, while the one standing with her was in full view.
She was extremely cute. Somewhere in her early twenties, short brown hair and seemingly apologetic to Todo and his situation, though she was with the other girl.
“I’m so sorry, Todo. We could’ve waited, but she insisted.” she said, hopeful that he wouldn’t resort to kicking them out.
As you observed the scene, Itadori turns to you and locks eyes for a moment, before reflexively looking toward the stage.
His actions elicit a squint in your eyes and a tilt of your head, so you turn that direction as well, only to see Megumi’s gaze fixed on the chaos that Todo and the girls were mixed up in. His forehead scrunched between his brows, a deep pout on his lips.
Of course, your next question was “Who are they?” which you happened to ask aloud as you turn to Nobara.
She was so curious that she’d already moved down a bit to hear the commotion closer as she leaned into Yuji at the bar. She turned toward you, her gaze also suddenly averting to Megumi, who was now pretending to set up without regard for them.
The brown–haired girl spoke out again, “Nanako, you’re making a scene! Calm down! We’re here now, for fucks sake!”
And now it makes sense.
What…
the actual …
fuck.
And here you are … yet again. Your entire body tenses as your heart immediately thumped heavily in your chest. Your moment of tranquility completely interrupted by what’s chalking up to be an enormous headache. One that will, apparently, be around at least until the end of this show.
You just can’t seem to escape the drama lately.
You look up at Megumi, who’s now sitting at his kit, “tuning”, having turned his attention solely toward you.
Choso and Yuta were now also watching the door, from the stage, their expressions pleading with Todo to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Your squinty eyes drop to the floor as you continue to sit with your legs crossed, lips pressing into a hard line as you take a deep breath. Your eyes closed for a few seconds, offering you the feeling of being removed from this mess, even if for a moment. As
Low – SZA
plays on the system, you turned back toward Nobara, who’s whispering to Yuji, which is fanning the flames of irritation inside you, as your friends have yet to address you concerning the issue.
The whole scene is starting to piss you off, so you decide it’s time to do something for yourself if for no reason better than to sate your own irritation.
Your eyes lift from the freshly mopped floor of the bar quickly up to Megumi. You inhaled, holding the air in your lungs for a bit, before exhaling it out slowly, allowing your brain to quietly process your next move.
Fuck this shit.
You dropped one foot to the floor, tapping it with the ball before allowing your heel to make impact, every movement intentional, forcing your body to do what you want it to, rather than react all on its own.
You get up from your chair and pull your skirt down a bit, straightening out your sequins before going over.
Megumi’s eyes widened as they bounced from you, to Yuji, back to you, then to Choso & Yuta.
You walk your Louboutin’s over to Todo. “Hey Todo.” Being careful to keep your voice soft, so as to not rile up your own self.
“What’s goin’ on? Is everything ok?” Your eyes finally rake over the silhouette belonging to the notorious enigma that was Nanako.
“Oh, everything’s totally fine. We’re just talking things out.”
You turn your gaze toward the eyes of this apparently very anxious woman. She’s beautiful of course, just as you’d expect. Big almond shaped brown eyes, an even bigger rack, and her shiny caramel hair was pulled back in a cute bun on top of her head, accentuated by bangs that framed her face perfectly.
You rested your hand on Todo’s arm as you addressed the girls. “Would you ladies like to come over and join us for a drink?”
They looked at each other, and then at you.
“And … who are you, exactly?” Nanako questioned, her eyebrows wrinkling in confusion.
Your lids lowered ever so slightly as you held out your hand to shake hers, introducing yourself, simply giving your name. “Nice to meet you.”
Her eyes traveled around to her sister, then Todo, and of course up toward the stage, obviously at Megumi.
You maintained your gaze at her face, squinting a bit, your genuine smile exposing how entertained you are to have to deal with this shit as you waited for her to return your gesture.
She did so, slowly. “I’m Nanako. Yeah. We’ll have a drink.”
“And I’m Mimiko. Thank you.” The brown-haired girl replied in kind.
You bopped your head to the side with a smile. “Kay. Follow me?” you said, turning on your heels back toward the bar.
Better to grab this bull by the fucking horns, right?
Todo moves to the side, motioning for the girls to go by, surely glad to be done with the issue. At least for now.
You glanced up toward the stage as you walked back over to your stool, eyeballing Megumi with a tiny smirk, then looking to Choso who grinned at you, then flashed the “ok” sign with a wink. You muted your laugh at him before leaning in to ask Yuji to make the drinks.
Gettin' In The Way - Jill Scott
played as both Mimiko and Nanako take the seats next to yours, opposite Nobara as they chat amongst themselves, sitting at the bar to order.
You sit on your stool facing Megumi, cross your legs, and turn toward Nobara who’s staring directly in your face.
“What?” you ask her as you grab your Blue Moon from the bar, inhaling the scent before taking a sip, your demeanor cool as a damn cucumber.
“Really?” Nobara quipped.
You smirked hard, pressing your duck lip into the corner of your mouth as you kept your face turned away from the other girls next to you.
“It didn’t look like anyone was planning to let me in on what the hell was goin’ on, so I took the goddamned matter into my own hands” you whined.
Nobara rolled her eyes. “You know who that is, right?” she whispered, not quietly enough.
“Of course I know.”
“Well, you should also know she’s been showing up here pretty frequently. Like ‘every week’ frequently.”
You took another deep breath and rolled your eyes as you could feel yourself starting to ride an entirely different wavelength. “And why the hell are you just now telling me this?” you said, trying to keep your voice down.
“Because she’s like, out of control.” She said, annoyed. “And I really didn’t see a good reason to bug you about it. She was supposed to be back home, by now. We weren’t expecting her to even be here tonight.”
"You still should’ve told me, Noby." You pressed.
"Okay, you’re right. Sorry. But… even if I did, we would still be in this position, right? We can’t control her. Neither can Megumi."
"Mmm…" you said, rolling your eyes. “And he didn’t feel the need to tell me, either? You realize that’s fucked up, right?” you insisted with one eyebrow hiked up as you glance over at Megumi.
He stared pretty intently at you as he and the band headed off to prepare for their entrance from backstage.
Mimiko and Nanako continued to chat amongst themselves, though out the corner of your eye, you noticed they stole glances at you periodically.
It was finally time to open, and Todo began to let people pour in. And pour in they did. Fast. Within five minutes, the place was near packed.
As people headed directly to the bar, Yuji became much busier, and had no issue getting drinks out, thanks to his helper.
You turned toward the girls, deciding it would be best to try and feel them out. Hopefully they’re here to enjoy the show and not to be a problem.
“So, you guys came to town for the show tonight”? you asked.
“Nah” Mimiko answered. “we’ve been here for a little over a month already.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. You work here?” a smart-ass remark rang from Nanako’s mouth.
You cut your eyes her direction. “No” … you chuckled.
Bitch do I look like I work here? Is what you really wanted to say.
“I’m here to see my friends perform.” You replied.
She squinted a bit, “Oh you know the band, too?”
“Yeah. I’m actually dating Megumi.” You were happy to say.
They looked at each other, and Nanako smirked as she turned her attention back toward the stage.
Mimiko on the other hand didn’t see it as amusing. “Oh.” She said, her smile fading a little. “Well, that’s nice. We were scheduled to go back home but decided to see this show before we leave.”
“Oh okay.” You said, glad to be able to have a decent conversation with at least one of them. “Well, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. They worked hard.”
“Thanks,” Mimiko replied with a seemingly genuine smile.
Nanako didn’t bother to respond.
You suddenly hear a lot of hoopla at the front of the stage, turning to see the commotion as a group of girls huddled directly in front of the drums. One voice you recognized almost immediately.
“He’s so fuckin’ fine, girl!” she wailed from across the room.
You could see them from the bar, even with the new crowd. It was the same woman you saw earlier on the church lot, with a group of friends.
You turned toward Nobara. “Guess this is what happens when you date a rockstar. You grinned with a huff. “Help him get his bag, ladies!” You shrugged as you sipped your drink.
“Damn right!” Nobara agreed, chuckling.
You turn from Nobara toward the stage, only to see Nanako pressing through the crowd, headed straight for the huddle, then striking up conversation. There’s no telling what she said, but it really didn’t matter.
The lights go dim, and you take a bunch of huge gulps of your beer.
“Sorry baby.” Nobara said, her shoulder pressing against yours. “I didn’t mean to piss you off. I just did not wanna cause any more trouble for you.”
“I understand.” You propped your elbow up on the bar. Observing the girls gathered at his kit. To be fair, there were quite a few across the entire stage.
Toge, Yuta, and Choso failed to fall short in the looks department for sure. And Choso, in particular, managed to sustain an enormous amount of attention, considering his status as the lead singer, and how amazing his performance always is.
Your emotions swayed, back and forth steadily as you observed, searching your heart for where you should begin to draw a line. Surely the time to do so was soon approaching from some direction.
“Let’s take our shot.” You said, turning your attention to Nobara. You raised your hand up to get Yuji’s attention. “Dori! Two Car Bombs please honey?”
“Yes!” Nobara wailed, “Now we’re talkin’. Let’s get this party started!”
“I’m so ready. It’s been too long.” You replied.
Nobara leans into you. “Looks like it’s gonna be a long night, too” she huffed, but guess what? We’re about to have a whole lotta muthafuckin’ fun.”
“Here you go ladies, bottoms up!” he says, bringing over three. You all clink your glasses and slam them, all together.
*~*~*~*~*
The bar had finally become standing room only. Everyone, well, except those of you seated at the bar, were shoulder to shoulder. The stage lights shone a deep blue, the system’s music faded out, and everyone cheered.
Each of the band members waltz on to the stage, all looking amazing. Choso steps to the mic, his appearance like a shining star.
“Hey everyone! Welcome to Nanami’s.” he said. They all continued to cheer excitedly, as did you.
Choso continued as his voice echoed off the walls, “Thank you all for coming out, we appreciate your support. We couldn’t do any of this without you.” The crowd all clapped and whistled.
“We’d also like to thank Nanami’s for having us,” he continued, “And for all your support on our original music. Since you guys seemed to like it, we decided to open with another one.”
Some people screamed “You guys rock!” and “We love you, Cho!” causing him to blush and smile behind the mic, turning to look at the band, all of them laughing behind him.
“Pfft!” Nobara chuckled, as you and her turned toward each other.
“Cute.” you mumbled. She nodded into her drink.
He turns back to the mic, his strong voice carrying throughout the room.
“This song is an original, written by the entire band.” he said, motioning toward each person as he explained, “I laid down lyrics, “Megumind” added the beats, and then the rest of the band layered their individual parts on top, piece by piece for what you are about to hear, so… we hope you enjoy. Let’s rock.”
He takes a couple steps back from the mic with his head down, a smile spread across his lips.
It was adorable. You couldn’t help but smile too. You were so happy for all of them. Choso really is a great guy, and it makes total sense that he receives the attention he does.
The lights changed a final time, dimming a bit more, the cheers died down under their faint glow, and it was time.
Right? – Mammoth WVH (we’re pretending they wrote it. Lol)
The intro was crazy. They all came in hard and fast, bass, guitars, and drums. The beats were so hot! You immediately moved the second you caught it, your grin spreading wide.
Your heart thumped deep in your chest along with Megumi’s bass drum as the sound vibrated your entire body, and the entire place. The crowd jumped in excitement.
Choso’s voice came in and was silky smooth as always and gloriously precise as he gripped the mic. His demanding presence is just what they need in a lead singer, and he delivered.
Then Yuta and Maki chimed in backing him up with the vocals.
Every melody, chord, and progression was so precise, so fast, and so complicated, yet they all worked perfectly in sync as always.
At this point you had to get up from your seat. Both your smile and your eyes widened as you watched them in awe, feeling as giddy and excited as you did the first time you witnessed their performance. Only this time, it was even better.
As the music rocked your whole body, you covered your mouth with both hands, not saying a word or looking away for fear you’d miss a single moment of it.
There was a two-part chorus. The harmony with Maki, Yuta and Choso was just so beautifully executed, and as the 2nd chorus ended, “I don’t wanna love you, but I won’t have it any other way”, Megumi hit a killer beat.
Choso then shared the guitar with Maki as they hit another verse, then the chorus came in again.
(At about point 2:25 of the song) Maki plays a line, then Yuta drops into the bottom on the bass with one chord, Megumi smashes, then they all kick some royal ass. Megumi's beats were crazy consistent throughout.
And then Maki… wow. She blew everyone completely away with an unforgettable solo, ripping the guitar.
(Then at 3:06 – 3:22) Megumi smashed some beats like he’d lost his fucking mind, with Yuta coming forward supporting him. Your inner groupie wailed excitedly as you held your hands up for him. It was mind-blowing, and the crowd went wild.
His drumming was absolutely mesmerizing. Megumi’s beats, whether they were just for you, or in the middle of a crowded space like this, always pierced you so deep inside, you could feel them in the depths of your soul. Of course you screamed for him like crazy.
Choso killed it with his vocals, hitting the chorus again, and an insane note at the end. So clear, and so high, it rivaled Chris Cornell. You wondered if you could even hit it. He’s a true badass all by himself. You were so proud of them all.
They had outdone themselves as a band. They were truly astonishing and deserved every bit of the praise they received.
The entire venue erupted in applause, and that was an original track. The band had successfully executed another brand-new song that captured the entire audience and won them completely over. It was a thrill to witness.
There were phones everywhere. Recording every moment. Surely the more the general public witnessed outside of this venue, the more well deserved, and very free exposure they'd receive. Soliciting even more followers.
Your hands stayed up in the air as you and Nobara cheered for the entire band. You yelled Megumi’s name at the top of your now very tipsy lungs, eliciting the most beautiful blush on his face, one you'd always happily pay to see.
They rode the high of their applause and the adrenaline they still had going for a little while. After a few seconds, Megz then clicked his sticks four times and jumped immediately back in by playing
Got The Life – Korn
to make sure they kept the crowd moving. Everyone jumped around, even created a pit in the front. It was crazy. You were glad you had a seat, otherwise you’d have definitely bit it up there.
You were so … SO proud of Megumi. He deserved to be applauded and honored for all of his hard work, as did they all. If that’s how they started, it was definitely gonna be an amazing night.
*~*~*~*~*
The guys offered earlier to have you and Nobara stay backstage to see them closer as they performed, but the two of you loved being able to see everything from exactly where you were, together with the lively and excited crowd, regardless of being at the bar.
You especially loved the way Megumi leaned around and peeked under his high hat to see you every few minutes as he played. This brought back such pleasant memories for you. You could feel your body warming up just thinking about it.
You stood swaying to the music, sucking on your straw that stuck out of your new Tokyo Tea, gazing as he played. His hair flailed around, muscles flexing, sweat flying all over, his eyes periodically aimed your direction as he beat powerfully on his bass drum... God, did you miss this.
His fan club was certainly enjoying themselves, as they should be, and as you watched, you acknowledged how that would surely become a “thing” the more they performed. As gorgeous and talented as Megumi is, you realized it’s plain old inevitable that he’d have plenty of “screaming girlies” surrounding him. Let alone the ones who eyeball him without even knowing he’s an amazing artist outside of this environment.
They loved him, and with good reason. But … He was yours. And you were his. It was a feeling you loved to relish in, knowing someone like him is at your side. Someone who sees you. Supports you, cheers you on, just as you did for him. Amidst all the flashing lights and noise, you were comforted.
The atmosphere was live. Lights glowing and dimming, crowd roaring and dancing, and the music was absolutely captivating. The knowledge solidified inside you how much of an honor it was to know such talented and extraordinary people so personally.
They played a few more bangers with all of you supporting them before they prepared for something a little lighter.
There, There – Radiohead
They were winding down now, chilling out the mood. Toge hooked up the electronics beautifully, much more of him in the forefront of this track. Though the sound and levels being balanced during their performances is mostly attributed to his brilliance anyway.
He’s responsible for not only the keys, but all the programming, sampling, looping, and all music software used. He’s basically the Johnny Greenwood of their band, the backbone.
At this point in the night, both you and Nobara’s drinks had kicked in quite nicely. You sat at the bar enjoying your time with your bestie, joking around with Yuji, as suddenly Nanako makes her way over. She leans against the bar asking Yuji for a drink.
“The band's great, right?” she asks, leaning toward you, interrupting your conversation as she's eyeballing you with her elbows propped up onto the bar, the pretty smell of one of Ariana Grande’s scent wafting up your nose.
“Fantastic. As always” You agreed, your smile spread across your lips as you lifted your drink to them.
A few seconds pass as her glare raked over you, her lips puckered as she waited for her drink. “You know, he played for me a lot.” She droned.
You leaned back into her, now facing her direction. “You said he ‘played’ for you?” You spoke louder, clarifying.
“Yeah, played.” She smirked, bouncing to the beat of the music.
“Yeah. Played.” You reiterated with a nod, emphasizing the last word with a jump in your eyebrows.
You turned toward the stage, observing Megumi, so relaxed and confident in his element. Establishing himself as an artist, living his dream and inspiring everyone around him. You cocked your head to the side as you watched him, a glint of pride shone in your eyes, a smirk curled into the corner of your lips.
You turned your gaze toward her; “He's playing a lot better now though... Don’t you think?”
Nanako turned and glanced toward the stage, then at you, then sucked in her cheek as she grabbed her drink and walked off back to her girl huddle.
Nobara chimed in, “She's doing so much right now. Probably feels pretty stupid for letting him go. Can't say I blame her for trying.”
“Yeah. I’m sure she’s really feeling the aftershock.” You said. “I’ve been there, so I get it. But she really needs to grow up. Talkin shit to me won’t change anything for her, you know?”
“Tch, for sure. She’s really only making a fool of herself.” She agreed.
“Mmm. Not to mention, if she knew what’s good for her… if she actually knew Megumi, she’d know her behavior is doing the exact opposite of what she wants it to and turning him completely off.” You added.
The crowd cheered the band’s performance again, and Choso announced their intermission.
The two of you chatted for a bit longer as Yuji sent over another drink for you and Nobara through his colleague. Just then, a large body pressed between you and Nobara, pushing you aside, asking for a drink as
Stellar – Incubus
began to play on the system. “Hey bro. Lemme get a Blue Moon!” Choso called to Yuji, elbowing you. “Move please. Geez, y’all are taking up all the space at the bar” he joked.
“What?” you chuckled with Nobara, “Just because you have a fan club does not mean you can come over here startin’ shit.” You whined.
“Yeah, that’s right. I have a fan club. I’m so special.” He exaggerated his nods. “yup. I am so very special. So make way. As a matter of fact, you need to give me your seat.”
“Boy bye.” You laughed, as a hand grips the bottom of your stool and spins it around the opposite direction.
You turn and it’s Megumi. His pretty face, less than an inch from yours, his eyes playfully raking over your features. “What are you doing over here flirting with some other guy?”
“That's not a guy. That’s Choso.”
“Wow Bro, did you hear her just drag you?” he quipped.
“I ain't worried. She knows what’s up.”
You turn to look at him like he was crazy. “And exactly what is up, Cho? I’m sure you’re no expert lil boy.”
His head turned quickly toward you with a grimace “What?” he chuckled “you did not just call me a ‘lil boy” he frowned down at you.
“Hey, hey, kids. Enough of that.” Megumi says as his large hand reaches up to rest at the base of your neck, his index finger turning your face toward him.
He leaned in, observing your flushed face, pink cheeks, and glazed over eyes. Your drinks had gotten the best of you already, as did your observance of Megumi on his kit. That image of him never failed to raise your temperature. His sweaty form hovered over you as your hands propped you up on the small portion of the stool that remained uncovered between your legs.
Your eyes slowly blinked as you bit your lip, looking up at him as his dark blues stared you down piercing you through.
He pressed his hips against your knees, widening your legs, his body squeezing between them as your feet propped them up on the bar at the bottom of your stool, your skirt hiking up a little more as he inched closer.
Megumi wasn’t generally the type to engage in pda, but the combination of adrenaline, alcohol flowing through him, and the arousal that your presence warranted in him, you, in those heels, and that outfit, with that face, and those eyes, all steeped his inhibitions somewhere far underground.
He leaned into the shell of your ear, his left hand holding up his body on your stool to your right, his arm propped up on the bar to your left, his warm breath laced with Guinness, wafting down the right side of your neck as he turned toward you, moistened tendrils of his hair tickling your neck, his scent strengthened by his sweat, a far more intimate echo of your first encounter.
“You’re lookin’ awfully fucking delicious right now.” He breathed, pressing his face against your skin, breathing you in, then pulling back a bit to look into your eyes. “I’m rocking your ass to sleep tonight.”
Your brow furrowed a bit with your half smile. “I don’t know if you deserve that, sir.” You drawled as you looked him up and down through your glassy eyes.
He frowned, “Oh really?” he retorted, snickering before he leaned back in, pressing himself against you, then rubbing his nose up your neck as he softly bit it. The next song rang on the speaker:
No Interruptions – Chris Brown
As your eyes slowly opened and you peered over his shoulder, you catch a glimpse of Nanako, her arms folded, jaw clenched as she stood at the entrance to the stairs on the side of the stage, watching through the dark shifting gaps in the crowd.
Megumi continued, his lips and breath tickling you, pressing against your ear. “And what if I just take it?” he breathed, planting a wet kiss on your lobe as his fingers curled around your thigh, just before your ass…squeezing firmly on the side of the bar where no one could see. “I could just tie you down to my bed again.”
Your head tilted toward the ceiling as he spoke, your eyes hooded as you giggled.
As your line of sight glided down toward Nanako inadvertently, you smirked as you turned your head toward Megumi’s ear. “You might wanna take care of your fan club first, honey. I don’t share.”
Megumi whispered low into your ear. “Tch, I don’t give a fuck about them.” He squeezed you tighter, pulling you closer. “I wanna hear you sing my name.” he whispered with a perfect poker face.
You huffed, as a shudder ran down your spine. “We’ll see about that, sir”.
He pulled back and stood up, looking down at you, his face straight and serious, one eyebrow raised. “I’m not playing. You’re comin’ home with me.” He glared with hooded eyes and an upward nod.
Choso interrupts, pushing Megumi on the shoulder. “Aiight lets go, bro” he said as he pressed a bottle of Guinness into Megumi’s chest, then turned him around toward the stairs of the stage.
You wrinkled your nose and stuck out your tongue at Choso as they started to walk over. He flashed a “yeah right” face and rolled his eyes before being stopped by a group of people as they attempted to make their way back up to the stage.
Just as you were turning around to speak to Nobara, she’d almost put her martini back up to her lips as she averted her eyes toward the boys, but paused, then nodded over their direction near the stage.
Nanako, Mimiko and the woman you saw on the parking lot were gathered around them, among others. Nanako tugged at Megumi’s side belt loop, pulling him toward her.
You immediately frowned and glanced over at Nobara, your teeth clenching as you rolled your sleepy eyes. You filled your chest with air and lifted your foot from the bar at the bottom of your stool to get up.
Just as the ball of your foot tapped the floor, a hand pressed firmly down on your shoulder. You look up at Todo standing next to you.
“Relax little one.” He says, looking down at you with an eyebrow raised. “He’ll take care of it. Give it a second”.
You turn your attention back their way. Megumi frowns deeply and yanks his hip out of her grasp as she’s talking over him, apparently asking him to speak to her. From where you sat, you were just able to read his lips...
“Look, I already told you... You can’t keep doin’ this shit.” Megumi says, his expression as irritated as you’d ever seen. “We’re done. Thanks for coming.”
He was obviously frustrated with her behavior, but maintained his composure considerably well, his face telling far more than his words.
“I’ll see your ass later tonight anyway though!” she yells toward him as he walks away hopping a couple of stairs to the stage. He looks over to the others and sits at his kit shaking his head.
“Ladies, stick around for the second set alright?” Choso’s charming face pleads with them as they whine and giggle amongst themselves and he also mounts the stage.
Todo looks back over at you. “See, it’s cool. Don’t get in the middle. Otherwise, you’ll just be in the middle.”
You take another sip from your straw as you huff, “They’re pissing me off, Todo.” You shake your head with one of your eyebrows cranked up.
“I get it baby girl. But that’s what I’m here for. You ladies just stay chill, and I’ll take care of the mess if that’s what I need to do.”
“We love you, Todo.” Nobara chimes as she smiles up at him from her martini.
He snickers at her and squeezes her shoulder as he turns and walks back over toward the front door.
The lights dim again, and you turn your stool around towards the stage, slowly releasing your frustration with a breath as you prepare for your man’s band to make your inner little girl excited again.
They started the second set with
Kascade – Animals As Leaders (Original by Megz ;)
Another mind-blowing track, one so complicated it would be impossible to execute if the entire band didn’t work in perfect unison.
It showcased their overwhelming skill, shining light on each instruments high level of accuracy. The rhythms, cadence, melodies, and the timing was all like arithmetic. It was astounding. And still sounded hot.
Even with your training, it was so complicated to follow. Was it in 2/4 or 4/4? Did they switch to 3/4 at times? It was nuts.
Megumi played at lightning speed, like his life was on the line, while Yuta seemed to follow him intently, and Choso and Maki remained on the same wavelength as they kept eyeballing each other on the guitars.
Most of the crowd could only sit there with their jaws dropped, watching how ridiculously fast yet so perfectly they played. And Toge glued it all together.
This time, Choso hit a dope solo (at about 3:20) that was so chill, but then got crazy (at around 3:45).
Megumi smashed it again toward the end and you all stood, unable to take your eyes off of the stage as they hammered this song out.
Everyone cheered wildly for them, you, overwhelmed with emotion at how powerful their performance has been. You turned and smiled widely at Nobara as you cheered for them, hardly able to contain your pride.
They continued to wow the room with more amazing music, as you enjoyed your time in the atmosphere, loving every minute of it.
*~*~*~*~*
Choso stepped up to the mic again; “You guys have all been amazing tonight, we thank you all for coming out! We’ve got one more original for you that we hope you like, written by all of us. Lets get it!”
The lights change color again to a dark blue as they begin playing:
Optimist – Mammoth WVH (Original by Megz ;)
Choso’s voice rang across the room, the women dedicated to him and the other boys gathered in front of the stage, clearly mesmerized by them.
Maki and Yuta again, backing him up on their mics with precision. Choso was kicking serious ass with his voice. He clearly took his work seriously and it was obvious.
Megumi pounded away, tearing up the drums like a rock god, hot like fire.
(At 2:45,) They all, Choso included, supported each other for the breakdown, all of them wailing on their guitars along with Yuta and Megumi pounding out the meat and potatoes of the music. It was sexy as fuck.
It’s always so easy for most people to take the bass for granted. Without it, songs would obviously fall flat, as drums and bass are the foundation, and Yuta held his own in an amazing way. He was a wonder to watch as well.
Megumi’s skills, in case anyone ever overlooked them before this night, were completely solidified and displayed just exactly how brilliant he is at his craft,
He never failed to make your knees weak as you watched him work. You really couldn’t blame the girls. He’s fucking beautiful, and he smashed the hell out of this track.
Once the last song was done, the crowd wailed their approval, screaming fans calling out the names of every member, their smiles returning the favor as they all waved back.
After a minute or so of cheers, Choso approached the mic again, “Thank you guys! Thank you, everyone for coming out tonight. Don’t forget to tip the bartenders, and we’ll see you next time!”
It was finally time to go.
*~*~*~*~*
The band needed time to get everything broken down at Nanami’s and packed away. You rode with Yuji and Nobara to give them space to finish as quickly as possible.
When all the work was done, you headed to Megumi’s loft downtown. You guys all stumble in, excited and lax, none of you sober, but all hungry.
There was this gorgeous man standing in the kitchen of the apartment when you arrived. He was obviously much older, but it was difficult to tell his age. He had bone straight jet-black hair and looked exactly like Megumi.
“Oh, you’re still here pop?”
“Aw shit, I thought I had more time.” He said, stuffing the refrigerator with Guinness and various other beer as you walked in behind Megumi.
Of course.
“S’all good.” Megumi turned to his group and called over his shoulder, “Everybody, that’s my dad.” He then glanced over toward you with a smirk.
All you could think was, ‘oh my god. Now his dad’s gonna see me wasted, hanging on his son like some damn groupie’. Not to mention, Megumi had your bag on his shoulder.
As you entered, you noticed how well put together the place was, still a bachelor pad, obviously, and of course a drum kit sat in the corner of the room across from a large window, along with a keyboard, amp, and a couple guitars propped up.
Little by Little - Radiohead
played on the flat screen which was propped up against the wall. The worn glass windows all around displayed a gorgeous view of the city, a mostly open floor plan with minimal décor and slightly dark, a vibe fitting for him.
The place was beautiful and clean, but very Megumi. Understated, but extremely attractive, a touch cold, but relaxing and everything present appeared to have a purpose.
Megumi’s dad finished stacking the beer in the fridge and balled up the huge kraft paper bag they were in as he spoke. The table in the open kitchen was covered with a spread of snacks and finger food.
“Ey. How was the show?” he asked everyone.
“Dope!” Toge wailed.
“So dope.” Yuta chimed.
“Hey Toji!” Maki called.
“It was…” Megumi shook his head “we did good, pop.”
“Hell yea, that’s what I like to hear. So, you made my money back, right?”
Megumi frowned and rolled his eyes.
You kept your head down, hoping not to be noticed as you wandered over toward the couch, which sat in the middle of the living room in front of the TV and one of the huge windows, the view of the kitchen behind you.
The band headed straight for the food, and Nobara sat with you on the couch. As everyone poured in and got settled, Megumi simply walked further inside and smoothly disappeared down a hallway with your bag.
“How you doin’, Chica” Nobara asked, relaxing into the cushion against you as you leaned back into her, crossing your legs.
“His dad’s here”, you grimaced, squeezing your eyes shut, hoping the room slightly spinning wouldn’t have too much of an effect on you. “And he’s hot!” you whispered, laughing too hard. “What the fuck?”
Nobara chuckles into your shoulder “Pfft! He sure as hell is. Don’t get any ideas, girl” she said as you both giggled to yourselves.
“And just exactly what’s going on over here?” Yuji asked, sitting down next to Nobara with 3 beers and a plate of food.
“None of your business!” Nobara whined, looking at him as if he was rudely interrupting. “And what’s going on with you? You really about to consume all that?”
“Hell yea!” Yuji exclaimed, shaking his head. “I gotta catch up now that everybody’s home safe. I only had that one drink with you guys.” He whined, as he and Maki are usually deemed the designated drivers of the group.
Nobara looks over at you grinning. “Let’s bet on how long it takes for him to catch up.” You both snicker.
*~*~*~*~*
“One of them yours?” Toji asked, walking around the kitchen island to Megumi as he stood watching the three of you, his band devouring the food behind him.
Megumi walked closer to the island, emptying his pockets of his keys and his phone, tossing them both on the marble surface as he propped his elbow up on the edge.
“The one in the silver skirt” he said, smiling, his eyes flicking toward Toji.
“You’re being careful right? I mean, you’re not gonna let anybody fuck up your shit? ‘Cause that’s on you.”
“Nah. Not this one.”
“Really?” He raised his eyebrows. “And how do you know that?” Toji asked, leaning against the island, with crossed arms and legs.”
Megumi shrugged. “She’s different.”
“Different huh?” he said, looking out the corner of his eye at Megumi.
Megumi glanced over at you, then back at Toji, “Yeah” he answered with a subtle nod.
Toji huffed silently, lowering his head with a smirk. With his head still down, he looked up at Megumi, raised his head, then patted him on the shoulder.
“Alright kiddo.” he said, pushing himself off the counter. He grabbed his keys and headed toward the door. “Don’t fuck up our shit!” he yelled out, raising his hand up as he walked out.
“Bye Toj!” Each member of the band called out to him.
Heaven’s Here – Robert Glasper (feat. Ant Clemons)
began to play as Megumi strolled over to the couch where you sat hiding underneath Nobara. He leaned over the seat, hovering his face an inch from yours. “You hungry?”
You looked over at him, slightly startled, “um… no”, you said with a smile, your eyes blinking slowly as you took a deep breath. “but … where’s the bathroom?”
He pushed himself off the couch, circled around it and held his arm out and his hand open as he gazed down at you. “c’mon.”
You grabbed his hand as he gripped tightly, pulling you up and wrapping his arm around you as you wobbled to your feet. You looked down at Nobara as she held her hands out to catch you in case you fell back down on top of her.
“You alright?” she said, you both giggling at your inability to stay up.
Your smile was wide, eyes small, as you laughed, now burying your head in Megumi’s chest as you looked at her. “I think I’m good.” You then raised your head toward Megumi, biting your lip. “You think I’m good?”
Megumi’s smirk faded as he looked down at you, his sights set on your lips. “Yeah. I got you.”
Nobara turned toward Yuji, smiling as he smirked and shrugged.
Megumi took your hand and led you down a small hallway to a door.
“Ugh... these damn shoes.” you scoffed, stumbling down the hall.
“I’ll help you with ‘em” he said as he walked you through the bathroom door, clicking the lock behind him.
He held your hand, guiding you to the long black marble counter that provided a space for you to lean on, but he bent down, wrapped his arms around your legs, and lifted you up to sit.
You giggled, as the cold pressed against your half exposed thighs “Thank you sweetie.” You muttered, grateful you no longer had to stand.
“Of course,” He muttered, barely above a whisper. “I’ll take em off.” He knelt in front of you, wrapping his fingers around to grip your calf, turning to kiss it.
“Hmm… What are you doing baby?” You asked, as he looked up at you from between your legs, your left foot now propped up on his shoulder.
“I’m helping you feel better.” He said as he unbuckled your right heel, sliding it off of your foot, then massaging it slowly.
“Feel better, huh?” You breathed, your words slurring a little.
You lifted your eyes, slowly looking around his very nice, very dark bathroom. The black tile juxtaposed against the silver hardware and his pale skin, complimenting his dark features, his eyes meeting yours, appearing slightly cold, yet somehow warming you up from deep inside.
“This is a nice place Megz.” You mumbled, your eyes hooded as heat slowly pooled in the depths of your core. “I’m glad I made it this time”.
“Yeah, me too. But I wasn’t letting you go home regardless.” His blues traveled up your leg, settling on your center for a beat, before flicking up to your flushed face.
You huffed, “What do you mean … letting me?” you asked, your eyebrow hiked up as you pressed your left heel into his shoulder a little.
“Tch,” Megumi scoffed as he looked down at your heel, then back up at you gripping both of your calves tightly. “You heard me.”
He stood up from his position on the floor, locking eyes with you as he maintained a strong grip on your legs, his fingers now curled around the back of your knees as he pressed his body between them. Your ass, clad in your slippery sequins slid closer to him easily on the smooth surface of his bathroom counter.
He leaned into you, his lips less than an inch from hours. “I’m hungry.” He whispered, lifting your thighs up from the counter, pressing them into his sides.
Your core clenched as your sleepy eyes scanned his features. He dipped his face into your neck, sliding his lips up and across your jaw.
“Then go get some food.” You breathed, pushing him backwards with your leg, then crossing them in front of him.
He stumbled back a couple steps, glaring “Nah, I don’t want that.”
“Well, what do you want, Megumi?” you asked, “To keep ‘playing’ for Nanako?”
“What?”
“You heard me.” You snapped back quietly, echoing his words from earlier as your body lightly swayed right to left as you sat on the counter. “Why didn’t you tell me she was here?”
“You didn’t need to know.”
You leaned forward, “And why the fuck not?” you asked with a smirk.
He walked closer to you squinting, his gaze piercing yours as he propped his arms up on the counter on either side of you, his body leaning into yours. “Because she’s not a factor.”
“Yet you kept it from me that she was coming around.”
“She’s a wild card. Unpredictable. And frankly...” he muttered with a sigh, “unimportant.”
His eyes scanned your body as if sizing you up, but you now knew better. That feeling surfaced again from deep inside you, the one you recalled from the night you first met. The one of you being mildly violated by his tangible gaze. The one that you now realize reflects actual hunger stirring inside him.
Megumi continued, “You and I had far better things to spend our energy on.” He said, positioning his lips close to yours again, gripping your thigh at the knee as it crossed over your other leg.
“Like what?” you said pointedly with a healthy dose of attitude, a weak attempt at hiding how much you loved his domineering behavior. You could hear
Up Late – Ari Lennox
playing in his living room.
Megumi squeezed your knee harder, pushing your leg down, uncrossing them, then spreading your thighs apart forcefully as you resisted. He pressed his body against the counter between them, then gripped your ass with both hands, pulling your body flush against his. “Like this.”
Your hand went up to push him away, but he immediately whipped his hand around, gripping your wrist as he held it between his chest and yours.
“The hell are you fightin’ me for, huh?”
You leaned in closer to his face. “I’m just not interested in being fucked over by some arrogant musician.” you said, cutting your eyes.
“Then how about just being fucked?” he huffed, pressing his hardened cock against your center as he gripped your waist, his fingers digging into your skin, as his arm wrapped round your body.
He continued, “And you’re supposed to be addressing me as ‘sir’.”
Your core clenched harder as he teased you, coaxing your body to call out to him as his thick cock rubbed roughly against your clit behind his jeans, soliciting a tiny mewl from your lips.
“I don’t want to fuck you.” He released your wrist, moving it to curve around your neck tightly as he spoke into your mouth. “I need to. Just like I need you to fuck me…”
“Me–” you started, as his lips crashed into yours, his chest pressing flush against yours, his strong arm tightening around your body.
His tongue aggressively slid across yours, dipping deep into your mouth as your head fell back and you began to succumb to his antics.
“Fucking miss you” he breathed into your mouth as he bucked his middle forward and his hard length pressed even more firmly into your clothed sex.
Your arms instinctively wrapped around his broad shoulders as he pulled you closer, his hand now gripping your outer thigh, sliding up your leg and under your hiked up skirt.
It traveled around to your inner thigh where his fingers slowly rubbed up and down your middle, your panties already wet from your slick and the feeling of him manhandling you so close to his delicious cock.
Megumi’s fingers curled around the lining of your panties, the friction from his skin against your clit and folds immediately making you shudder, as your core clenched hard around nothing.
His two middle fingers circled your clit roughly as he breathed heavily into your mouth, causing you to jerk and moan. He pressed them past your slit with ease, gliding against the slick walls inside you, watching your face as you moaned and threw your head back as he toyed with you.
He buried his head in your neck as his fingers disappeared into your hole to the knuckle, curling inside, his tongue lapping at your flesh as he sucked along your pulse point. Just as you began to call out, he gripped the back of your neck again, pressing your lips against his, his tongue bullying your mouth.
He thrusted his two middle fingers inside you, his palm hitting your clit again and again as the sound of him sloshing into your heat bounced off of the hollow walls of the bathroom.
Your hips jerked as your lower back arched toward his hand, begging him for more as he pumped them in and out of your opening repeatedly, pushing you quickly toward the edge.
Both of you moaned as your body denied you the ability to fight him any longer, his hand steadily smacking against your sensitive clit as you held him tight and neared your climax... the mood disrupted by multiple loud bangs on the door.
“Ayo! You got company, bro!” Choso called, piercing through the tension.
Regardless of the sound, Megumi pumped his hand faster deeper into your quivering core as he locked eyes with you, your pained face and panting lips driving his desire to force you to cum hard. He pressed his hand flush against your sex, shaking his palm vigorously back and forth on your clit as his fingers scraped violently along your gummy walls.
Your mouth opened to scream, and he pressed his lips against yours again as you came, pouring you arousal all over his hand, your body trembling against him as you gripped him in your arms.
You both panted heavily as you rode down your high, a fierce shudder passing through your body as Megumi slowly removed his fingers from inside you, your heart nearly breaking from their absence.
As his breathing steadied, he gazed into your eyes, lifting his fingers to your lips, slipping them past your tongue as he forced you to taste your own arousal. He then turned them into his own mouth sucking them clean, then kissed you softly on the lips.
“Gonna need a lot more of that.” He murmured against your mouth, turning his face to kiss you on the cheek.
He helped you down from the counter, making sure you were steady, then leaned over to wash his hands as you straightened out your skirt and attempted to regain your composure.
The water squeaked off as he turned to dry his hands on a towel, then toward you. He rested his hand lightly on the back of your head again as he spoke, “You okay?”
You nodded, and both headed for the door to see what the hell the commotion was about.
*~*~*~*~*
You both walked out, slightly dazed as
Damage – H.E.R.
played on his flat screen.
“The fuck is going on here?”, Megumi griped, his frown digging deep into his features the second the two of you hit the living room.
Your eyes adjusted to the scene, and lo and behold, Mimiko and Nanako were standing next to Yuji at the front door.
“You have got to be fucking kidding me.” you said out loud as you gawked at them in all their audacity.
“I’m sorry bro, I opened the door, and she just pushed past me!” Yuji groaned.
“She did.” Maki chimed in from the kitchen. “We saw it. We didn’t wanna kick her out until you got back here to corroborate her ‘story’.”
“I didn’t wanna touch her in case she tried to call the cops.” Yuji continued.
“And if it weren’t for Megumi, I’d have body slammed her ass already.” Nobara proclaimed, apparently highly pissed that she pushed Yuji.
Megumi huffed, shaking his head and rolling his eyes. “Figures.” He stepped closer to the door where they all stood, turning his attention to Nanako.
“What the hell are you doing here?” He grumbled, “You do realize you’re making shit worse, right?”
“Uh… You didn’t know?” Mimiko chimed in, her eyes bouncing between Nanako’s frowning face and Megumi’s “Oh my god, I’m so sorry Megumi. She claimed we were coming here just to say goodbye and that she called you already.”
“What? That’s a negative. She didn’t call me” Megumi sneered as his eyes cut through Nanako’s stare. “And if she did, I didn’t answer”.
“We sure as hell didn’t hear or see it either.” Maki proclaimed. “His phone’s been sitting right here in front of me since we got here.”
Nanako said nothing as she stood there, all eyes on her as everyone waited for an explanation for what she was up to.
“Okay this is some bullshit.” You finally spoke, throwing your hands up, blood boiling at this point, your body and mind all having had enough.
“I’m fucking leaving.” You turn to face Megumi, leaning toward him as you spoke. “You obviously have business to take care of, and I didn’t sign up for this shit.”
You step past him, heading toward the back to get your things.
Megumi grabs your arm. “Stop. Don’t leave.” He urged.
“Why the hell not?” you shrugged, clearly agitated, choosing to be done with the situation.
“Because I asked you not to.” He leaned in close to your ear, looking you square in the eye. “Stop fucking running.”
You swallowed hard, slightly taken aback by his command. Your voice low and calm as you replied, “You have unresolved issues and giving her too much fucking space.”
“Nah. Fuck that. This is my spot.” He stated pointedly, his voice perfectly calm, eyes burrowing into yours. “You’re here with me. I didn’t ask her to come, I didn’t tell her to come, I didn’t give her permission. It’s you. Period.”
At that, Maki and Choso also make their way toward the door.
“You fuckin’ heard him.” Maki stated shaking her head, “Take your ass home.”
“Yea, it’s time to go.” Choso chimed in.
Mimiko leaned into Nanako, pleading. “Sis, please. It’s too much now.”
“I came to speak to my boyfr–”
“Ex.” Nobara interrupted. “Your EX-boyfriend. Let’s not pretend you’re not fucking delulu.”
“And besides that, disrespectful.” You added, rolling your eyes.
“I just wanna talk.” Her gaze turns to Megumi.
“About what? There ain’t shit else to say.” Megumi scoffed, as calm as ever, one arm still around yours, squeezing your hand with his as he tugged you slightly behind him, his other hand stuffed in his pocket.
“I was wrong.” She replied.
“Yeah. You were.” Megumi agreed, “And apparently still are. That’s why it’s over. It’s been over. I told you that. Many times.”
She looked around at everyone as if waiting for something to change. “Megumi…”
Your eyes screwed shut at the sound of his name. Hearing it come out of her mouth made you cringe so deeply your skin crawled.
“I… I just wanna talk! After nearly two years you can’t at least give me that?” She whined, tears pooling in her eyes.
You sighed heavily, averting your eyes to the ground, then looking over to Nobara, then to Megumi, who was already looking directly at you. You rubbed your forehead, closing your eyes, taking a deep breath, your lips pressing into a thin line as you shrugged subtly.
You’d mentioned this to Nobara at the bar. Having been where she is. Feeling the things that she felt.
Yeah, she was full of shit. Rude, and disrespectful. But she was just someone in love. Or … maybe just in regret. Regardless, you understood her, even if you wanted to knock some sense into her.
And your heart broke for her. Megumi was near perfect, and she discarded him over bullshit.
The reality was, she was in the middle of a man’s home, a man who didn’t want her, making a complete fool of herself. He had confessed his feelings in front of everyone, and they didn’t include being with her.
You knew she’d regret this. Not because she fought, but because she shouldn’t have. Not like this. This was over for her, and she couldn’t see it. If she could, she was simply being stupid, and you didn’t feel like joining her.
You then glanced over toward Mimiko. Who seemed overwhelmed by the situation also. “She’ll have her words, then we’ll leave. I promise.”
Nobara’s gaze was also fixed on you. She was obviously still pissed, but her expression seemed to soften as well.
“Would you mind helping walk them out? I’m tired.” You said,
“Of course,” Nobara said, “are you okay?” she asked, leaning into you.
“Yeah. If I go, it’ll probably just provoke her.” You sighed, “I just can’t anymore… but I trust Megumi.”
“Okay.” She replied, walking toward the door with Megumi and the girls.
Megumi turned and stepped toward you, hovering. “Don’t leave.” He insisted.
You nodded, then watched as they disappeared through the door. Yuji went with them.
You angled your face toward the ceiling, taking another deep breath.
“Hey singer.”
You turned toward Choso, who had gone back to sitting at the island with the rest of the band, who had watched the entire thing like some movie.
“You good?” he asked.
“Yeah, I’m cool. This really is some bullshit, though.”
“Yeah, we know.” Maki muttered. “All too goddamned well, too.”
You walked over to the island where there used to be a ton of food, grabbing a toothpick and stabbing a piece of turkey and cheese with it, then taking a cracker in your other hand.
“I figured more talking wouldn’t make much difference if it hasn’t up to now.” You murmured.
“Good call. She used to do this all the time at college.” Yuta claimed. “That’s one of the reasons they ended up splitting.”
“Crazy”. Toge chimed in.
You looked at him and giggled.
“She’d show up to watch rehearsals, back when it was just Megz, Toge and me, telling us we were all wasting our time.” Yuta griped. “It was pretty irritating even then.”
“Geez…” you cringed. “You’d think she’d be tired of it by now.”
“Yeah, you’d think.” Maki echoed. “She doesn’t. Megz got tired of the whole thing repeating itself and finally ended it. She didn’t take it well.”
“Tch, yeah.” you crunched on your cracker. “I could imagine. It’s hard to admit when you’re wrong. At least she got that far.”
“True.” Maki shrugged. “On that note, I’m tired as hell. Y’all ready to go?” she looked around at the boys.
“We can head out when Megz gets back” Choso stated.
“And we’ll talk about that other thing later.” Maki says to you.
“Okay. I’ll be right here on the couch.” You said as you walked over to the living room, plopped down and propped your legs up beside you on the couch.
You grabbed a pillow, stuffing it under your head as you laid down, watching music videos on the flat screen, then pulling the black throw over your legs since you had no idea how long their “conversation” would take.
*~*~*~*~*
“Hey.” You heard a voice say, as a warm hand wrapped around your neck. “Come to bed”.
It was Megumi. The lights were all off except for the glow coming from the mounted tv.
Blue Dream – Jene Aiko
played quietly, on the screen, perfect white noise. “Mmmh…” you moaned, disoriented and slightly dizzy. “What time is it?” you asked, your eyes still closed.
“About one thirty in the morning.” he answered, sitting next to you, smelling like fresh soap and incense.
You opened your eyes slightly as you took a deep breath, inhaling his scent, peeking at him past your lashes. “Hey… are you okay?” you whispered, concerned.
“I’m perfectly fine.” He replied softly, eyes hooded as he gazed lovingly at your sleepy face. “How are you feeling?”
You slowly pushed your torso up from the couch, looking around in a bit of a daze. “Where is everybody?”
“They went home.”
“Mmm” you mumbled, sighing to yourself.
“Don’t sleep here, you’ll catch cold.”
“Okay.”
Megumi stood up, holding on to your hand as you used it to stand. The concrete floor of his loft was ice cold under your feet as you’d warmed up quite a bit resting on the couch.
“Shower…” you mumbled, yawning as the both of you headed down the hallway.
“Okay.” Megumi answered as he detoured toward the bathroom with you in tow. “I’ll get your bag…” he said as he disappeared into his room.
*~*~*~*~*
You stared at yourself in the mirror for a few moments, glad to have had a fresh shower, washing away the stress of the night, and unfortunately more fond memories.
You were finally in Megumi’s home. Alone. Just you and him.
You had packed a few things for this occasion, yet were a little reluctant to be bold enough to use them. But after everything that’s happened, you wanted nothing more than to share some deeper intimacy with him.
He had offered to let you wear one of his tees again, but you declined, since you had other ideas. You had freshened up nicely, the scent of lavender and lemongrass wafting around you, your hair slightly damp from the shower, your scantily clad body covered in only two small articles of clothing: a black nightdress, the fabric soft and matte, lined with a cute lace design both at the low neck and at the hem which barely covered your matching black strappy undies.
Your heels were still in the bathroom from when Megumi removed them earlier. You took a paper towel and your solution from your bag and wiped them clean before slipping them back on.
You were awfully cute… but… should you? Of course you should. Youd been wanting to all night.
You exited the bathroom with a small pink bag in your hand. As you approached his room, you could hear his Bluetooth playing
Comfortable – H.E.R.
You turned the knob on his room door, to see him sitting on the side of the bed, facing you. He was wearing a black ribbed tank, loose fitting black sweatpants, and his boxers. His head was down, elbows bent at his knees as he waited.
You pushed the door wide as you crossed your legs, your hand with the bag hidden behind your back against the frame. As the door creaked open, Megumi’s eyes widened as you came into view, his lips parting as his dark blues scanned your silhouette, his hands gripping his thighs as they slid up his legs.
His floor was only half covered by carpet closest to his bed. The head of the bed was against the left wall, a bedside table next to it. There was a large floor to ceiling window on the far wall opposite the door, on the other side of the bed. You could see lights far away from houses outside.
“Wow.” he said, barely above a whisper.
You walked closer inside through the doorway, then stepped back to lean against the wall facing him, your right hand still behind your back with your bag.
He stood at the side of the bed, staring. A silence fell between you as his tangible gaze covered your entire frame. “You’re home with me now. You have nowhere to hide. I’ve finally got you where I want you.”
Your heart skipped as you blushed down toward the floor. It somehow felt as if he were speaking of more than just this moment. Your body began to feel warm as his eyes raked over you, blood rushing to your cheeks.
He often made you blush. And you couldn’t help it. Unfortunately for you, it was too easy for him to do, no matter how hard you tried to hide it. Perhaps that was always his intention.
You pressed your head against the wall behind you, walking the tight line of tension between you, your eyes also raking over him.
“What? No collar tonight?” you asked with a relaxed tone, breaking the silence.
Megumi huffed, “I’d love that, actually.” He muttered, turning his smirk toward the floor as he looked up at you. “We won’t worry about it this time though. Since you weren’t bad.”
“Oh… Okay.” You replied.
You cocked your head sideways as you walked up to him slowly, the sound of your heels firmly clicking on the concrete floor of his room with each step before you reached the area rug. You set your bag down on the bedside table and reached both hands up to cup his face.
As your hands rested gently on his cheeks, you leaned in, pulling him close, then planted a single soft kiss on the corner of his mouth, your finger gliding feather-light from the nape of his neck, past his jaw, across his bottom lip.
Your tongue peeked out of the corner of your mouth as you gazed up into his beautiful blue eyes and whispered,

Set 6 Preview: "... Likewise, you had carved a space from his heart that only you could refill. Everything about you, from your person, to your beautiful voice, the gleam in your eyes, to the way you received him, gently yet unintentionally massaging his ego and his manhood, you had locked him down into a den of pleasure that he had no desire to leave.
He growled against your skin, thrusting over and over., “Mmgh, everything about you is mine.”
