Femzai designs cus I can.

Everyone's always like Ada femzai would wear a long skirt/trousers but I bring too you a kid core zai because she didn't really get too be a kid so I think she'd enjoy playing around with accessories/layers/textures/colours just have some whimsy in her life. Also she gained chub bcus I said so :3

I have two ideas for Pm femzai, the first one is shown in the sketch above, just a long black skirt, the second one is I think she'd wear a mini skirt cus yk I've worn both and I'd much rather fight in a mini then a maxi, maxis depending on the style can have restricted motion especially for someone who fights mainly with their legs so a mini skirt where she could do a full kick would probably be her choice but yk oh no she's a 15-18 what if she was forced to grow up too fast and that's just a repercussions of that. Anyway I think it's easier to kick in a mini skirt.

i am generally a short-haired dazai truther but i think if she would've had long hair at any point, it would be while she was in the pm - she wears the same suit every day and lives in a shipping container so i think she just never ever cuts her hair ada dazai would be similarly apathetic to hair care but she learned that short hair is easier to care for so she hides it better i haven't drawn a lot of femzai from her pm days and never in her canon clothing so this is that thanks for the ask ♡

I'd like to imagine ADA femzai to have fluffy curly hair while her PM ver would have long, straight wet hair (for obvious reasons, aka frequent drowning attempts) 🎀🎀

Honestly, I'd like to imagine this as a sign of character development! Like how Femzai is starting to take care of herself (but let's be honest, kunikida is probably the one buying her hair products, oil, etc)

anon i've been pondering this ask harder than i've pondered my life decisions

On the whole, I view PM!femzai with a predominantly Makima-esque appearance so my verdict is that she'd wear baggy, innocent, doll-ish dresses and skirts at 15 and and switch to Makima style pants and coat (and presence) in her late teens as a sign of maturity/growing up. This way you'd get the best of both worlds that is the fem/masc femzai fashion spectrum As a side note, i think she'd switch back to skirts at home because that's simply more comfortable. Imo, she likes wearing skirts/dresses not in a fem way but in a lazy i-can't-bother-to-put-pants-on way. She's way more comfortable in the ADA so that's why she wears them at work now (you could turn this whole outfit choice thing into some sort of analogy or metaphor but i'll leave it at that because i think it's pretty obvious)

Femzai headcanon that when Mori found Dazai, she had headlice and mats in her hair so Mori cut it short for her. So she has short hair at 15 but never bothers to cut it after that so in dark era her hair is long and unkempt. She cuts her hair again when she joins ADA because she feels like as a part of the "good guys" she needs to look presentable but she doesn't know and doesn't want to take care of her long hair.

I love how your Femzai never cuts her hair, compared to some other ones. A lot of people have her hair cut after joining the ADA, so it makes me happy to see a long haired Dazai. (Oh, and shorter haired Fem!Chuuya for the win :))

I've talked about this before but to be honest, I also think she cut her hair in the ADA you know like in those dramatic character turning point scenes you see in movies but i just like painting long hair too much to subscribe to that design so i came up with some other lore that involves her being a petty bitch which is not too far off either lmao (and much funnier to think about imo )

i gave chuuya shorter hair just to contrast her but also because she's much more "offensive" ( as in, she moves around a lot) so i wanted a more practical look so to speak (same reason for giving her pants instead of a skirt). Dz is much more defensive/static she doesn't move as much compared to her so she can afford more 'inconvenient' hairstyles
