i can’t bro there’s so much wrong with this take and i’m gonna unpack it. (sorry if this is written poorly it’s like 3am)

No byler shipper is out here hoping and praying that mike cheats on/leaves el to get with will immediately. A huge part of wanting byler to be canon is about the fact that it will be good for everyone involved, especiallyyy if done right.

Personally, I believe el will be the one to bring it up and break it off with mike. We already see throughout the entirety of season 4 exactly how she feels - unloved, like a monster to him - and at the end of the season they are almost entirely distant, more than ever. How can you see this and think that el still wants to keep this relationship? A relationship built really on nothing but shared trauma. The creator is right, el has been through a lot, but with that in mind she has the life experience now to know what’s right and to stop the bullshit. Plus, if mike is to get with will after this, the right conversations/communication would have to occur, no “out of the blue” business. Here is a tumblr post i’ve seen that explains this point a lot further.

Also they act like it would be out of the blue, and i guess for them it would be?? I mean it must suck to have all the insane amount of mikes queer coding sneak up on you because you lack the media literacy needed to understand the blocking and implications behind scenes and lines… what— who said that??????? The switch from mileven to byler will seem decently quick with everything going on, especially because the straightforward stuff will be more crammed into the one season among all the action, but it’s doable and i’m sure the duffers have done it right. Mike won’t be running out fresh break up to go make out with will. He’ll have time to reflect, time to think about exactly what he’s feeling and why he’s feeling it and really we don’t know what exactly will set off his final realisation. Maybe he comes to the conclusion on his own, or maybe there’s a catalyst such as him running into vickie and robin. We really don’t know exactly.

I’m actually so sick of milevens acting mike is el’s only hope and without him she’s will crash and burn. The amount of comments on this video trying to preach that it would be unfair to el to lose mike during such a high stress season is just insane, she has more than just mike. Hopper, Joyce, the entire party??? did we forget they exist??? also why do we act like after they break up mike will just stop being supportive of her and not still back her up at every turn?? I dont know what they think her character arc is, but clearly to them it’s not about her independence and growth alongside her familial relationships.

They didn’t bring her the strength she needed because it wasn’t genuine, and it wasn’t what she needed to hear. “Will is selfless he wouldn’t do that to his sister” so hes just expected to sacrifice his love for the “happiness” of mike and el, after suffering for 4 seasons straight? and you’re right. he wouldn’t. we’ve seen that he willingly does this when he tells mike the painting is from el. So for byler to happen, MIKE will be the one to initiate!!

“El has lost enough she can’t lose mike too!!” as if they’d become strangers after the break up, let’s be fr mike would still be there for her 100%, probably even more than he could be in previous seasons because post break up he can be genuine!! Stop acting like she’s nothing without him, it’s weird.

“eleven would go crazy/become a villain if they get together/are gay” this is like based purely from homophobia, like okay just project onto her i guess?? acting like she even knows what gay people are, her entire perspective of relationships is from media and the ones around her 😭😭 she does not know what’s “wrong” with being queer, and im sure the least of her worries currently are two boys kissing 😰😰

AAA TY OOMF😁😁 yeah, i guess her breaking from the inside is kinda symbolic and ties into the colors i picked haha. On a surface level, Jeanne was pretty accepting of her fate to Singularity (hence the blue colors), but i can't help but feel like for most of her life she had lingering sense of dread, grief, or maybe impending doom, like someone would feel before they die (the red). I got the moth idea from that older piece i was talking abt. In some cultures, moths symbolize an impending death, or just death itself, so i guess Jeanne was pretty doomed from the start. For the red strings, i more intended for them to look like blood/blood vessels, but i honestly like the "strings of fate" idea more! (Ahh different interpretations, one of the many joys of art!!) Character Analysis of Pete Dinunzio (Comic Vs. Pilot)

Disclaimer: This is by no means a very good or professional analysis or anything, this is just me whipping out my Honors English high school powers for fun, to put these guys in a jar and shake them. Getting as much content out of this comic as possible even if it means yapping. Pete goes first because he's easy, lol

The Comics Highlight His Flaws

The first difference I noted when watching the pilot first and then delving into the comics is; Pete is aggressive. Much more aggressive. He's the most argumentative member in the first few panels, with most of his comments being rather pessimistic or sexual in nature. He always has some sort of retort or comeback to defend himself and his views, and his passions come out mostly in anger.

There's also a silent shame that comes with his behaviors, much more likely to complain about what he doesn't like than happily explain what he's passionate about. When he does have passionate moments, it's because these things that make him very vulnerable are being criticized, and he gets defensive. Like his love for Christopher Lee.

Without any prior knowledge of these characters, it can be assumed that Pete comes from an abusive household. His behaviors are major signs. He's most likely so combative because he's used to constantly being under fire, especially with (I think) 8 other siblings who are implied to be mostly older men. If he didn't have a slick comment or keep up this "tough" persona, he'd be their personal punching bag - figuratively and literally.

All Pete really knows is aggression, being canonically the poorest member (he states that he couldn't even afford to be in the Boba Fett conversation in the comics). It's been shown that the club lives in a shitty area in Staten Island. Plus, they're heavily bullied. It's shaped the way he communicates and interacts with the world around him. Even his obsessions - he likes seeing people get ripped apart to the point it becomes a kink.

Even the way he speaks sets him apart. Not necessarily his accent, but his word choices are usually much simpler and his points are very blunt. He's not portrayed as booksmart, and his swagger comes off more as a performance (both of masculinity and of nonchalance) than a natural way of being.

It's also worth noting his position in the very first panel of the comics. Bill is head of the table, of course, it's his house and he's the leader. (I'll get to that symbolism in Bill's analysis). But Pete is sat right next to him, lower than Bill and somewhat distant from him, but still seeming closer and getting more focus than Jerry and Josh.

His position is meant to draw your eye from an artistic perspective, he is unconsciously trying to secure himself a good spot for control and stability. If you're on Bill's bad side, you end up like Josh (I'll get into the lolcow-ification of Josh later on too), but Pete gets the least shit from Bill. Pete is not a pushover, and he feeds into Bill more. Their bickering seems almost comedic.

Totally different dynamic than he has in the pilot, so them getting along so well may be retconned. He has much more of a moral compass in the pilot, and while both versions show Pete *attempting* to be a mediator and a voice of reason, the pilot shows it more. Almost like Pete didn't want to be there, much preferring Jerry's company since they were both reasonable.

Bill and Pete's dynamic also goes to solidify Pete's relationship with his father and the toxic masculinity he displays constantly. Pete has the urge to stray and separate himself from the obviously immoral tendencies of his father, but still seeks approval from an authority figure in which he admires. Someone he sees as "cool" and capable, teeter-tottering between loving him and fighting him. His father is very authoritative, Pete was never allowed to question anything. He associates anything "girly" with pain - like how Bill associates women with sexist stereotypes, expecting to be hurt by them because of their shared experiences with bullying and Bill's mommy issues. Except Pete had it literally beat into him.

Him connecting masculinity to being capable and independent leads directly to his tendency to make choices on the fly. In a house that's always arguing, someone has to make a decision. And Pete wants to be seen as the macho man who knows what he's doing, but also doesn't care that much. So he mainly makes decisions with common sense, emotion, and whatever he's compelled to. A very "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" mentality from living in a conservative household.

Though I do feel that most of his decisions come from a place of shame. If you're secure, you usually don't have to make it a point, or brag about it, or defend it so vehemently. You just... are secure. This directly ties into his canonical bisexuality along with his horror passions. His whole life he's been told everything about him was fundamentally wrong, and he's trying to run from it. Which is why he tries to separate his personal love for horror makeup and SFX from traditional gay and drag art forms. Those things are looked down on. He hates being looked down on. Which is why he uses gays, along with Josh, as scapegoats.

The Pilot Highlights His Positives

From the first 25 seconds of the pilot, Pete is already a more positive version of his comic alternative. He's more successful in diffusing the bickering between Josh and Bill, and is more level-headed and goal-oriented. He's calmer, seeing things go wrong and actually wanting to find solutions instead of dwelling on the small details and who-did-what. He almost feels like a disgruntled mother with more humor. His independence also shines, but so does his tendency to run into danger without thinking.

Pete also sits much farther in the pilot at their meeting table. He's at opposite ends of the table, like the other head, or leader, willing to criticize Bill and never really seeing eye-to-eye with him. He tries to lead before Bill does, starting with the "Sexy Sirens" tape, and has a little bit of a power struggle. He's leaning back, to distance himself, and his nonchalance is more natural, it's just who he is. Josh and Jerry seem closer to Bill than Pete is, which is a total 180 from the comics.

A big point of Pete's character in the pilot that isn't touched upon at all in the comics is his sense of justice. He wants things to be fair - from the trivia-off in Joe's shop, to the DnD game. He tries to break up fights but will hit back if he's being hit, or someone else is being hit unjustifiably. Much like a shephard dog instead of a guard dog, like his comic alternative. But only to the club, he's still a menace to his general environment.

His trauma is shown more subtly but it is still made a point - while Pilot Josh is unconcerned when Bill's mother is yelling at the club, Pete seems the most worried and distraught, the first to start sweating and holding his head. His body language screams abuse. His introduction panel also shows he's relatively used to beat downs, seeming silently resigned and defeated rather than horrified like the other characters.

His sexuality also seems more on-par with a teen boy and less hypersexual, and there's less sexist comments. He's definitely still a little freak, shown with his creepy little faces, clawing at the glass, and his comments about "Battle Broads" the series, but he's not trying to repress nearly as much.

Combining the Two

Since the point of the comics was to be an exaggerated version of real life incels, I'd say the pilot is a more realistic representation of who Pete is as a person. But with such a short run, it didn't get to show the entirety of his character, which would have to be fleshed out across multiple episodes. The comics is a satirical piece mocking and displaying the worst of the worst, and t pilot is a commentary on the societal failures that lead to children with this kind of behavior.

There are some parts where they undeniably intersect though. Like Pete's tendency towards violence to solve his problems, and one specific comic panel (which I can't exactly find right now) where Pete comments that sewing's for sissies, and Jerry insists that he's not. Pete's reply is "Of course not you, Jerry, you're a wizard. Keep it up." This can be seen as him just wanting his clothes repaired, but it can also be interpreted as Pete putting his own insecurities and internalized feelings aside because he loves and respects his friends too much. It shows that he doesn't actually believe what he's saying to the degree he insists. Pete is the second most likely to have the capacity to change his ways, if he ever so chose.

Honestly, it's up to interpretation how these traits are combined. Some fans like the comics more, some fans like the pilot. Though Evan seems to be leaning more into the pilot interpretations of the characters now than the comics, showing a possible reboot or retcon of their old traits, just like the retcon of Epilogue Pete.

Summary (MBTI, Enneagram, etc.)

I'm gonna use my general knowledge of personality quizzes to get my point across, lol.

I honestly believe his MBTI is ESTP, as someone who studied it for a very long time and spent way too long on PDB. But he is a very unhealthy ESTP that never found an outlet for his more creative attributes, and lives in unhealthy environments that disrupt his peace.

On the good side, he can adapt easily, read his environment and the people in it well, and he is extremely passionate. He's pushed by his love of horror and film, seeking out people with the same interests and motivation to get things done. He's very experience-based, seeking out adventure, and has a lot of energy. He's very down to earth, lives in the moment almost too much, can easily improvise and comes up with decisions very quickly. He's a quick thinker, but thinks after he acts, not before, and is very life-smart. He's a good communicator, he's practical, hedonistic, and fair.

Deep down, he seeks validation from his peers, wanting to be seen as competent, talented, valuable. At his best, this helps him connect with others in a meaningful way like he craves. But he never really gets there, which leads to him forming a persona he believes will get him that respect. He's actually a very sensitive person in that way, not necessarily emotional but very touchy when it comes to what he loves. He's prone to pessimism, doesn't think about the consequences of his actions, and doesn't see himself in a world in which he's truly successful.

He's selfish, rude, doesn't trust others, has an intense aversion to rules, and doesn't look at any information that goes against what he believes. He can be bossy at times, or judgemental of others who don't meet his standards, and doesn't keep other people' feelings in mind. This leads to an internal struggle with seeing everyone as fake or not as dedicated, but also wanting, needing connection with other people. This can lead to him being rather conspiratorial, which leads to the whole "Jock vs. Nerd" conversation.

I also think he's a sp/so (self-preservation social) 8w9. His biggest fear is being hurt and betrayed by the people he loves, so he seeks out control and stability so that can't happen. He tries his best to be self-reliant so he has no need to open up to others and make himself vulnerable, and he's hard to warm up to. But once he likes you, he's loyal for life. He isn't very loud about these traits, trying to maintain an air of calmness while also being no-nonsense. He doesn't want to lose control of his anger, but also has a tendency to do so, leading to small outbursts of strong aggression. While he craves connection, if he has too many failed relationships, he may start to see them as a waste of his time and become very introverted, like how he became in the epilogue.

this may be a reach but you know how light and weather is a recurring motif in n2n? in just another day, gabe calls natalie 'sunshine' which i think foreshadows how natalie was the one to bring hope back into their lives. she was the one to tell diana that they'll get by even if they're not 'normal' like other families because they've never known what 'normal' is— but despite that, they will be okay.

natalie was also the first one to sing in light, saying, "we need some light. first of all, we need some light"— something so obvious, but they were so clouded by grief and pain that the light was so far out of reach for them that they thought their lives would always be dark and rainy. throughout act 2, the stage kept getting darker until there were no more lights on— natalie was the one who turned on the lights that brought back hope and light into their lives.

additionally, natalie also sings, "give me clouds and rain and gray. give me pain 'cause that's what's real" because she has never pretended that everything was normal. she acknowledged the problems they were going through, she knew pain because it's all she's ever known. while she did try to block everything out by doing drugs, she knew it wouldn't really solve anything. she just needed to dull the grief that was so prominent in their home. but still, they needed to feel that grief to finally heal.

One thing I see a lot of people fail in, is the fact Dean needs Sam. Not just in a 'brotherly' or 'hunting partner' way, but fully. Entirely. Selfishly.

Dean needs Sam by his side, and he does not care for his little brother's ambitions or desires. He doesn't care if Sam doesn't want him like he does, all he wants is peace of mind knowing that his Sam is with him. That he belongs to Dean.

The whole view of 'Sam is abusive and manipulative' is completely wrong. While yes, Sam is in no way a perfect being, it is Dean who makes him this way.

It's Dean who uses Sam as an anchor. It's Dean who puts Sam in situations that would be easily avoidable and unnecessary if it weren't for Dean needing to assert himself over Sam. It's Dean who Sam is afraid of, who does all he can to put space between them, knowing that in the end, it's futile, as Dean won't let him get away. It's Dean who makes Sam feel like he's nothing but a relief for his brother's frustration and gain.

It's Dean who so desperately wants to consume Sam until he's nothing but a broken shell of who he once was. Sam is the only reason Dean breathes.

As per Life on the Murder Scene, the sole reason why My Chemical Romance even exists in the first place is because Gerard witnessed 9/11 and wanted to make a change in the world.

Frank and Gerard would make out on stage frequently to PISS OFF HOMOPHOBES and take a stance against the rampant homophobia of the time.

Something that was brought to my attention today is that, during their last tour, Gerard went on a ramble about how wars are copies of each other and brought a printer on stage (which he affectionately named Stuart) and beat the shit out of it.

And let's not forget their lyrics!

Danger Days is a great example with overarching themes of rebellion, survival, and non-conformity. Also, BLi (the fictitious mega corporation the Killjoys–MCR's alter egos for this album–are trying to take down) can easily be switched out for a controlling government and I feel the plot would remain the same.

All of Gun. to me (as a military child who listened to her father's stories on how the military fucked him up in numerous ways) is entirely and inherently anti-war/military.

In response, he said that the song would actually be more important to release because of said event.

This footage was to be shown to MCR and when Gerard heard this, in his own words, lost his fucking cool and give us this famous quote:

guys i am the #1 wolfstar lover and im all for headcanons and fanon and separate interpretations but. as a thought exercise. do we think remus and sirius would have been together at hogwarts based on canon flashbacks and memories?? i know we only have like the one memory of them when they bullied snape by the lake but it honestly seemed like sirius and james were a little full of it and just enabled each other to be bullies. and then remus and peter were seen as secondary to them

like in this passage:

1. sirius wishing it was a full moon just because he's bored and wants an adventure as if it isnt something traumatic and painful and miserable for remus is kind of a dick move

2. from this it seems almost as if sirius thinks he's too good for remus in that he's brushing him off when he's only trying to help

also!! the prank. canonically sirius betrayed remus's secret and put both him and snape in danger and correct me if im wrong but we never really got an explanation for his actions beyond wanting a good laugh

so while i love the fanon interpretation of wolfstar (as well as the marauders as a whole) i do wonder if that can be reconciled with how we know them to be in canon. as in how would they reasonably get together romantically when the dynamic between them is so skewed?? idk thoughts anybody

i find it odd that despite the entirety of the tsh fanbase knowing fully well that richard is an unreliable narrator they are so quick to speak on events in the book as if they happened in full honesty. the whole point of the novel is to highlight the fragility of morality and how elitism corrupts everyone involved which is entirely why… richard is like that. and why we won’t ever truly know if the events of the story itself are real or if they’re what richard wanted them to be

i see so many people discuss the ethics of letting therian kids (and siblings) be open about it / go to school with gear, etc. i don’t think children should be at school with gear. yes, in ways, it can be a starter / intensifier for bullying.

but in reality, the foundation of my bullying stemmed from insecurity. the other kids knew that i wasn’t quite right, that i was different, and that i was afraid of myself, too. i wasn’t taught to defend myself, and didn’t have adults in my life that i felt safe talking to; this lead to me being a direct target naturally.

being bullied didn’t make me grow out of my weird behaviors. masking them didn’t stop the bullying either. snatching gear from your therian little sibling won’t make it stop either– they’re already weird. other people already know that.

the only thing that did stop it was confidence. so tell the kid that people fucking suck sometimes, and maybe publicly wearing gear at school isn’t the best idea, but be involved with them.

let them know there is someone there that is willing to support & fight them regardless of what others think. let them know there is someone there that loves who they are. let them rant to you about things you think are silly or weird, take them to a park or a forest, buy them a therian pin or whatever. let them know they are loved & that you care.

& ffs, don’t let them come home to someone that bullies them too.

Least threatening interaction between Bob and Ayden 😋😋😋

Okay now lore time 😝😝(holy yap 🙄🙄)

Ayden Myers had been working at Candy Club alongside Kevin for just over a year now.

He wasn’t really known since he worked in the back of the shop for the most part, but is absolutely excellent with kids! Parents usually find him obnoxious with how “childish” he acts in front of the children.

He works typically the late shifts and covers for Kevin happily, so they both have a pretty good relationship despite Ayden’s unprompted ramblings and facts about candy.

Ayden is introduced to Bob on a day shift to cover for Kevin. Upon entree, Ayden somewhat knows who Bob is due to the regular’s list Kevin kept on the other side of the counter. They’ve tend to bounce energy off of each other with their vast knowledge of sweets and cannibalism!

On the night before Halloween, Skid and Pump rushed in to pull Ayden out of the store just as his shift was ending to show him something “amazing”. He quickly closes the store and follows them with curiosity and walk until they reach a small hill with a nice view of the town. Both boys point to the sky as Ayden looks up. He sees the stars for what they truly are as he gets momentarily possessed.

The cult quickly catches wind of this and send Bob to dispose of Ayden for he would be too much of a liability if he were to try and uncover what he had witnessed.

And on Halloween night, Ayden is working the night shift as usual in his Halloween outfit (a giant candy piece, no joke..) albeit a bit shaky from what he experienced with the kids the night before. Bob makes sure he’ll get his own little Halloween treat as he slowly hunts down Ayden.

When Ayden is closing up shop, he goes outside the back to get rid of the store’s trash with Bob blocking to exit of the alleyway, knife in hand and taking his time to scare Ayden like he usually does with his victims. By pure luck, Ayden manages to slip away from their encounter unscathed but shaken.

Bob persists after this, but Ayden’s clumsiness saves him each time by pure accident and only frustrates but further as he keeps failing somehow! (Like Ayden trying to land a defensive punch to Bob’s face only to trip and punch him hard in the crotch. Ayden would apologize profusely while running away while Bob just sits there for a moment wincing LMAO)

Ayden’s escapes are goofy asf like he def should have died LONGGG time ago. What’s worse is that Ayden is so oblivious that he doesn’t fully connect the fact that Bob is the Red Devil and still treats him like a normal customer when Bob walks into the shop 😭😭 He’s a bit naive so he kinda lands himself in trouble without even knowing it (and mistakes Bob’s threats as weird flirting because he’s a lonely middle aged man okay 🥲🥲).

So yeah, that’s Ayden’s main story for now! (I don’t mind it if you didn’t read allat lmfao)
