Weekly Update!

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening everybody!

I am here to deliver the weekly update! 😄

1) Ships! They are still open! I (Jaxx) will be answering the ones I have today, and still accepting more. Tomorrow is my day off and I will be active on here all day starting at 10am (MST). So please come by and drop-off your requests and ideas, or just drop by the chat and say hi!

2) One-shots! Kennedy has five new pieces she will be posting throughout the week, as she finds time to do so. But she is also accepting requests if you have them. She is still looking to compile a one-shot playlist, so if you have any inspirations for that go ahead and submit!

3) Personalized ships! Also still open, so feel free to request! HERE is the outline for that if you are interested.

So there’s the news! I will be around tonight for a few hours if you have any comments or concerns!

Curling up together to read on quiet weekends, ice skating in the park every winter, bringing roses home after a mission, slow dancing in the kitchen, binging TV shows (and explaining the references he doesn’t understand), becoming ‘home’ for each other, hand kisses, cheek kisses, slow kisses, holding hands and giving a gentle squeeze to let him know you’re with him until the end.

Taking Requests!

The ask box is OPEN!

On the menu for this week we have TWO specials, one via each admin:

1) Kennedy will be doing a playlist one-shot list! How does it work, you ask? Send Kennedy a song you love or are inspired by or simply can’t get out of your head, and a character that you would like to read a one-shot about. If you have a specific image in mind, send her a description! For example, “I would like to request a one-shot based on the song ‘Prom Queen’ by Beach Bunny, about being insecure and asking Carol Danvers how to feel better about yourself.”  Kennedy is taking the first 10 REQUESTS and building a playlist, then posting the one-shots in that order!

2) Jaxx will be doing ship requests AND personalized theme imagines! She will post an example of the theme tomorrow, along with the list of info she needs to put together to request. But in the meantime, while we wait for that, feel free to REQUEST A SHIP for yourself. If you need to know what to send her, see the outline HERE under item 4, ‘Personalized Ships’. For example, the personalized ship request would look something like, “Hello, could you please ship me with a male member of Team Iron Man? I go by Annie and I love baking, going for hikes, and playing with my three cats. I am very quiet when you first meet me but eventually all my friends say I am super chatty. I am very protective of my friends and I love romantic gestures. Thank you!”  And the more info you give Jaxx, the better!

A Long Overdue Reunion

Hello lovely followers and fans ❤️

I am not sure how many of you are still active and watching for updates, and how many of you are just here to enjoy content from before, but to whomever is here and reading this today... Hello! I am Jaxx, one of your admins and creators on The MarvelousWorldGeek Tumblr page! 

There is a lot that has happened these past few years, to both myself and my co-creator Kennedy. We disappeared quite suddenly from this page without much heads up. This was due mostly to some very sudden and difficult changes in both our personal lives. But in the interest of keeping things short I will simply say that if you would like to know anything in detail, please feel free to message and ask. We are open books! Just ones with very long chapters. 

Recently Kennedy and I have been discussing our various personal creative projects and got to reminiscing about the unfinished passion project we started here, in the form of a Tumblr blog, and both expressed how much we missed writing and posting our content; especially now in light of the Avengers franchise reaching an end of sorts. Turns out we both still feel very attached to this blog and miss the joy of talking with you guys and sharing content. 

And my goodness how I miss all of you!

Such a supportive, creative, beautiful fandom we are all a part of. And so, after much discussion and organization and planning and coordinating, Kennedy and I have decided to rededicate ourselves to this blog and it’s content!

I know a lot of you were counting on us to give you some heads-up about everything, and I am sorry we left without any heads-up or goodbye. And if anyone would like to know details, please just ask. But in the meantime we will begin posting regularly again, and I will alert you all THE MOMENT we are taking requests!!

Please, please, PLEASE let us know how you all are doing! Drop a line, send a gif, throw some emojis, tell us everything we have missed!

I can’t wait to pick up where we left off.

Rules and Regulations: A Recap from Last Season

Alright, my lovelies! 

For those who are new, for those who would like a refresher, for those unsure about their request, for those who just appreciate a good ol’ set of guidelines, I am here to give you a rundown of how we do requests and posts around here. So buckle up and get those post requests ready to go!

1. Imagines

What I need for an imagine is pretty straightforward. You’ve all seen imagines on here before! Be sure to clearly communicate your idea to the best of your ability so that I can properly represent it.

My only other request here is that you keep the imagines in the PG/PG-13 rating. It’s a little more difficult to mark them as “sensitive” versus putting a disclaimer on, say, a story or one-shot.

ALSO: Be respectful of other people’s triggers, sensitivities, and general feelings. We don’t want anyone to feel misrepresented, targeted, personally offended or attacked by a post.

2. One-Shots and Stories

This is Kennedy’s area of expertise; she is our in-house author here at Marvelous World Geek! (Although she is our contracted, out of state writer at this exact moment). But either way, if you have any questions regarding longer written pieces, aim them at her. She still has access to the page and will be updating her work fairly often.

Things to keep in mind for one-shots/stories: Be sure to include characters, plot, and any details about the setting and storyline that you feel need to be included. Kennedy is a great writer, but she can’t read minds ;) BUT you can also give her just a quip and let her run with it! It’s up to you as to how exact your image is.

REMINDER: Stories have multiple continuing chapters; one-shots are just a short story (hence, one “shot”).

3. Preferences

Now, for the most part, you guys know what preferences are. But for those lovelies who maybe haven’t seen one/requested one before, HERE is a previous example we’ve created.

When requesting, we need to know the subject (EXAMPLE: first date, favorite food, song that represents them, etc) and the group (EX: X-Men, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Villains, etc). We can take it from there!

4. Personalized Ships

Now! I know many of you are most excited about this part; who doesn’t want to know who they’d be shipped with? It’s exciting! But in the past, we’ve been overwhelmed with literally hundreds of ship requests, and it is extremely difficult to keep on top of, especially if people aren’t sending me the basic info I need to make a judgement. So, here is exactly what I need you to send me:

*Your Name/Alias

Multi-Fandom Preference: Meeting the Parents (1/2)

Angel

You had never seen Warren act the way he did the first time you brought him to meet your parents. On a usual day, he had two attitudes: in public, a tough protective boyfriend vibe. In private, when it was just the two of you, he was earnest and sometimes even a little vulnerable. But from the second you walked in the door to your family home, he became a sort of boyfriend robot. He was polite, genuinely complementary, and naturally befit with manners. You had expected awkward politeness, sure, but this was as though he had always existed in this other world. Even his vaguely James Dean style couldn’t quell his strange new gentlemanly mannerisms. But the moment you were back outside and driving away, he was back to his old self. His past was still a mystery to you, even more so after that dinner...

Bruce Banner

Bruce was hesitant to meet your family. To be fair, he was nervous to try anything new that might disrupt the safety of routine in your life together. There was always a part of him that still couldn’t believe that you and he had managed to build a stable life together, with his condition. But he saw the hope in your eyes when you told him the two of you had been invited to your parent’s house; he couldn’t say no to that face. In the end, it was a perfect evening. Bruce settled into a surprisingly conversational flow and managed to come across as intelligent and thoughtful, even charming your family into an insistent invitation for the two of you to come back soon and do it again.

Charles Xavier

Charles was all prepared to go; he had on a nice shirt, and bought a perfect host gift, memorized the significant details about you and your family.He seemed to be very much looking forward to the evening. He had spoken to plenty of parents for his line of work; he ran a school, after all. But the moment you pulled onto the street where your family lived, suddenly all his prep work flew out the window, and he felt like he was sixteen again pulling up to his date’s house to take them to prom. You had to reassure him several times that this was going to be fine, he was prepared, he was wonderful, he’d do fine. Eventually, he nodded and the two of you went in, and true to your word it was a wonderful evening. But it did leave you with a sweet aftertaste knowing it meant so much to him, to be so nervous.

Kurt Wagner

 In usual fashion, Kurt made a nervous mess of several little things before he managed to get his sea legs with your family. You thought it was adorable when he got flustered over his attempt to be relaxed, and very sweetly held his hand whenever it was obvious he wasn’t sure what to say or do. Despite everything, it is impossible not adore how sincere and thoughtful Kurt is, regardless of how silly he feels. He’s like the first boyfriend you have in middle school, the one you take to the valentine's day dance, the one you get ice cream after school with, the one you shyly hold hands with on a walk through the park and your very first real kiss. Even your parents can see how sweet he is.  

Logan Howlett

Logan wasn’t great at family. He had the folks in the mansion, which was close enough for his taste. And he had you but it was just the two of you most of the time. He was respectful to your family but he didn’t fail to come across as a bit rough around the edges. The two of you had rolled up to the house on his motorcycle, with logan in his usual attire looking like a classic badboy. The neighbors certainly would have questions. But you knew Logan better than anyone and you knew that the way he was acting tonight was the equivalent of his “best behavior.” So while your family was distracted in the kitchen, you leaned across the tale to squeeze his callused hand and mouth a sincere ‘thank you.’

Natasha Romanoff

Natasha looked so glamorous when she met you to drive to the restaurant where you were meeting your family. Gone was the usual tight black suit and arsenal of weapons, replaced now by a curve hugging dress and boosting heels. You felt a swell of pride at the sight of her; she would be the most beautiful woman in the room tonight. And true to form, she was charming and smart, having everyone wrapped around her finger by the time they were through their first round of appetizers. But she never failed to catch your eye periodically throughout the evening and exchange a loving look.

Ororo

It is rare to see beyond Ororo’s cool exterior. She is smart, a little sassy, and takes no flack from anyone. But when it comes to family, she tends to get a little nervous and uncomfortable. Having no real family herself, the prospect of “meeting the parents” was somewhat undesirable. At first, you were disappointed; all you wanted was to show off your new girlfriend to your family. But eventually she would be open to talking about her anxiety over meeting them. And she knew it was important to you, so eventually it becomes impossible to say no. She was a little stiff with them at first, trying her hardest to be polite, but you were there to reassure her and tell her she was doing great. Eventually, she even managed to crack a smile.

Peter Quill

Peter is a goofy boyfriend; the shirt untucked, bad jokes, forget his wallet, people-kinda-wonder-how-he-got-someone-as-impressive-as-you goofy boyfriend. At first glance, he seems like the kinda guy you date early in college, before you’re getting “serious” about life. And that was no doubt the impression he immediately gave your parents, having them wondering why you were running all over the universe with a guy like this. On the plus side, he was totally cool with meeting them; maybe even a little excited, even if maybe they won’t fully approve of him. But he makes you laugh and even in the awkward silences between poorly timed jokes, he only has eyes for you.

Scott Summers

Scott is that guy you date in high school, the first somewhat serious thing; the sort of boyfriend you win prom king with and get a page together in the senior yearbook. This came across when meeting your parents for the first time. He had perfect manners, called them by “Mr” or “Mrs”, said please and thank you, and kept the conversation on topics such as school, sports, and a little about his family. He is the kind of guy who a parent would meet and comment, “He’s a good kid.” If he’s nervous, he hides it well. And afterwards he would comment on how nice your family is while the two of you drive up to the crest to snuggle under the stars.

I have some good news and some bad news for you, loves.

First, the bad news; Kennedy lost a member of her family this morning. She is alright, and wants me to let you know that she is sorry to have to disappear suddenly, but it does mean that the one-shots will be postponed for another day or two. She is hoping to take a break from her family and get some writing done soon, and will send me the stories she’s already completed soon. But for now, as I am sure you guys understand, she just needs some time to herself. 

The good news is that, in the meantime, I will be posting ships, imagines, and preferences to fill the space! I am excited to answer your requests and post these personalized imagines :D they are so much fun! 

In the meantime, beauties, go hug your loved ones and wish them a happy valentines day. Spread some love and cheer in the world! And ask, ask, ask away so that we can fill the page with mushy valentines love <3
