there is no original reality. therefore you have no original ethnicity.

i want to be pretty. people of all ethnicities can be pretty. maybe one day i want sharp, cutting eyes like Ruoshan Wang. maybe one day i want big doe eyes like Mila Kunis. maybe i want a button nose like Jenna Ortega. maybe i want a cute flat nose like Chaewon. maybe i want albino skin and hair so i can look ethereal. maybe i want darker skin so i look like a goddess. maybe i want pin-straight hair that won't stay in any hairstyle except "down". maybe i want coily hair i can play with. maybe i want thin lips to look more innocent. maybe i want big lips that look oh so kissable. have you considered i like features regardless of ethnicity. of course being white in this reality and then "becoming x other race" is weird, but from one reality to another? it's a whole other reality. you've always been another ethnicity there. the reality already exists, you're just selecting it. and why would i be the same in every reality? have you considered i want variety, not the same thing every time?? if i wanted monotony, i'd stay here

adding onto my previous point, i want to experience it all. i could always be a foreigner, could always have one foot in the door, could always think i'm starting to understand a culture only to be reminded that i'm an outsider when i hear a joke only a native would get. and to everyone who wants that, that's cool. but i want to learn about different cultures the best i can, and i want to belong. if i wanted to be an outsider, i'd stay in my cr

“You sure he’s not somehow ours?” Bludhaven asks again, setting him down once more to circle. Amity laughs, wild hair the color of wheat fluttering in a non-existent breeze and portal pulsing like a heart as she rests a hand on his head. 

“Well darlin’, I am asking if you would be open to adopting,” the Spirit laughs, the sound as familiar as the birds outside his window in the mornings. “Well, I suppose I could always ask your dear sister Arkham-” 

“No no, I would be honored,” Bludhaven smiled a literally sharp grin, something mischievous and violent about it in a way Danny was slowly growing used to. “I’m just- look at the little ghostling! He looks like he could be from ours! My hair, your eyes… he’s just missing markings…” 

“Markings he’ll get once you give me an answer darlin’...”

Hello, friends! I know we've been a bit radio silent as our between-season break stretched on and on and on - on the plus side, I am feeling gorgeously well-rested after almost four months off 😅 The good news is, Matt and I are finally getting our arses into gear, and have a Big Serious Planning Session in the diary for tomorrow afternoon, where we'll put a firm launch date on Travelling Light Season 2 and figure out what all we need to do to get there.

TL;DR - TLS2 is coming, and sooner rather than later! Thanks so much for your patience as I lounged on the sofa and Matt did busy, actually-very-important things at his grown up job 💕

In other news, we are heading to the cat shelter today in the hopes of adopting this absolute perfect specimen. Wish us luck!

i love S2 of ofmd. not because I think it’s perfect, but because of the sheer overwhelming wave of emotion packed into it. I saw a tweet recently that said it’s ironic max seemed to want ofmd to be something it’s not- an uncomplicated pirate workplace comedy. and when I think about it, not only did they straight-bait their audience, they also sitcom-baited their audience as well. It’s hilarious how the show’s unfurling became uncontainable for them. S2 especially, is so raw edged and frayed and messy. the layers of angst and comedy and queerness and romance feel so BIG, so undefinable as one clean cut genre. It’s euphoric. you can complain all you want about the structure and the story beats and studio interference etc and I’d say you’re right for that. but ultimately - the emotional core and themes of the show (dismantling of toxic masculinity, forgiveness/second chances, queer joy unconcerned with playing defense) ring so true and vibrant to me, shouting at the top of its lungs in S2. and it has a special place in my heart for that.

guys i really tried with "The Artist's Way" but this book just opens up with like ten pages about The Great Spirit and how you must Let God Work Through You and so on and i just cannot get onboard with this bull crap. im happy if the bullcrap helped you in your work, it seems to have a lot of value to many artists, but im putting this shit back on ebay
