Having a terrifyingly shit week. Turns out our dear Betsy (our car) will continue to be in the shop. It's already been over 20 days and passed the estimated date. No reason given. Just a curt response saying "we will call you when it's ready". Ok thanks. Plus, the offending driver's insurance is also being vague on what they they are willing to cover in terms of the rental car. The gist being they don't want to cover all of it, which leaves me with charges up to and over 1200 doll hairs out of pocket. A hefty sum discounted or not. On a separate issue, I have to contest a 100 dollhair traffic ticket. The pigs claim i violated a no turn in red sign and have the high tech pics and vid to prove it. The problem is, the signage also includes no turn on red when pedestrians present. Or rather, no turn on red. When pedestrians present. Which is a nice little loophole of ambiguity for the town of hardwood heights and their revenue scheme by hap hazardly combining separate signs. The situation really brings out the debate pervertry in me. I had a dream I had to give a kitten CPR to no avail. Come into work the next day and the fuses for the AC blew out meaning we gotta stand there sweating in our business casual uniforms. As to why there was no warning in the group text is beyond me since it started the other day. The company ordered and installed massive portable units but they're loud and exhaust warm air into the spaces behind them. Real neat stuff.

I've learned a lot of setbacks at me being FAB.

My landlord thinks that because I'm a FAB, this is what entitled him to think that I'm best suited it doing dishes and stuff like that around the house. That just because of this also, I'm incapable of handling myself if I get into a potentially violent situation that is instigated by another person.

It's low-key insulting when I help him out on the jobs with two other people that I'm strong arming shingles coming off the siding and that I'm able to carry and pick up heavy items. Just because I'm Fab, doesn't mean s*** and it shouldn't mean s*** as how strong I am mentally, physically and mostly as well as exactly spirituality.

The issue with that is I know myself, I know what I can't handle and what I cannot. It is very tiresome because of the fact just because he is a fam, and a boomer at that, that one size fits all when it comes to any body that is a fab.

Unfortunately, all he's talked about is in his past forays nto a relationship, he seems to think that anyone that any Fab is eventually just there for his money. Now I do realize that there are a lot of fabs that have ruined it for other fabs because they are essentially gold diggers. They're only there for what their partner can provide and that's it. But I've never been that way with anybody in my past, if they were down on the luck, they were down on their luck. It should be teamwork, if people choose to be in a situation or relationship with somebody, not one person doing everything and you're just sticking around because they are doing everything. Because at that point, it's not teamwork, it's called me myself and I work. At that point, you're just using the other person.

I feel that the landlord is trying to place him and I into a relationship. I thought I was overthinking it but my friend Talia says no, it feels like he is.

I'd gladly move o to my mom's place if that turns out to be the case. . She lives on the same property but not in the house itself.

To add,I know that the gentleman I know named Bob wouldn't be a controlling asshole like my landlord....

Can we please politely push for DPxDC content to not use the main DP tags?

An AU overtaking a main tag is a fairly common fandom thing to happen, and when it does happen, this is generally how it's dealt with. There's no solid guideline of when to do it, but at some point, an AU becomes so widespread that blacklisting doesn't really help.

It's also simply not fair, nor logical to shove a fandom out of its tags and into a different tag or community. What about new fans who peek into the main tag and see nothing but an AU they weren't looking for?

(This is a great place to also remind people that only the first five tags on a post get sorted site-wide. Anything after those are purely for your own organization in your own blog. So you can still tag your stuff with canon tags after the first five!)

I really think DPxDC stuff needs to be posted in a dedicated tag/community. I really don't want to have to start blocking individual users, but after waiting for... what, three years, I think? In hopes that fans would self-govern and use a bit of common courtesy I've seen in other fandoms? I'm unfortunately almost there. Not to say that this is deliberately rude! I'm not sure the fandom at large has really talked about it enough for DPxDC fans to catch on, so I don't blame any party here.

I just think this is something we could very politely ask for more. Be kind, be patient, and see if we all can't make this fandom space a bit more comfy for everyone, yeah?

The 17th century Scottish romance I was listening to just switched from Ye Olde Talke, which it has been resolutely committed to for ten chapters, to using present day queer identity labels and what I can only describe as therapy speak (“holding space for her anger”) and while I’m delighted at the unexpected inclusion, it’s just so jarring and clumsy.

If you’re going to commit to what you perceive to be historically accurate dialect (it’s not) you at least need to stay consistent. You don’t get to go from thees and thous to “holding space for her bisexual nature.”

Like c’mon now. Find a way to say it that doesn’t sound like an HR briefing about politically correct terminology has been dropped into your Ye Olden Romance.
