Flower Puff Boy — p.js
park jongseong x male reader fluff with very lil angst 2.3k words
Over the past year, people have come to know you as the guy who always gives flowers. You’ve used every occasion as an excuse to purchase flowers from Jay, your neighborhood florist, and each time you walked in, you always ended up with a free flower from him. As Valentine’s Day nears, you realize what flowers truly mean to him and you.
includes: flower language! (might be wrong, i’m not good with flowers myself); a call back to my other xo era-inspired fic (pls read it too if u haven’t yet :’3) warning: n/a
You were never well-versed in the language of flowers. No special fascination, no favorite blooms nor scents growing up. But over the past year, you have come to be known as the guy who gives flowers. For friends who started new jobs, relatives who celebrated their birthdays, and even your coworker who merely complained about the blandness of her beige desk, flowers had become your go-to gift.
You first stepped into Flower Puffs on a whim, a small shop tucked into a side road with little traffic. Despite its humble appearance, its color always stood out against the dull low-rise apartments beside it. The chalkboard outside boasted seasonal arrangements and flower meanings scribbled in neat, cursive letters. It started simple: a gift for your mother on Mother’s Day.
—
Behind the counter, a young man arranges a bouquet. His sleeves were rolled up, and the veins along his arms were like vines growing on a trellis. He glances up at the sound of the bell jingling above the door. His eyes lock onto yours, lips stretching into a smile as charming as the flowers that surrounded him.
“Hey there. Mother’s Day?”
You hesitate by the entrance. His directness catches you off guard, though it makes sense—most of his clients for the day were probably here for the same reason.
“Yeah,” you nod.
“Good call,” he replies, his smile reaching to his eyes. He wipes his hands on his apron and steps around the counter. “Something classic or something unique?”
You shift on your feet, glancing at the rows of flowers neatly arranged on wooden displays. “Uh… I don’t really know flowers.”
He chuckles softly, approaching the nearest display to you. “Well, that’s what I’m here for.”
He hums as he gestures at his different floral arrangements, voice filled to the brim with enthusiasm. It’s quite captivating—the way he spoke about flowers—detailing their scientific properties, from colors to scents, then unraveling the messages they somehow conveyed without words.
He picks up some delicate stems, their green, fuzzy leaves adorned with tiny yellow flowers that spiral upward along its length. Oddly, they remind you of the herbs you use to season food. “Agrimonias mean gratitude and protection. Old legends say that if you sleep with agrimonias under your pillow, they ward off evil.”
He then picks up another few bright yellow flowers, bigger than but as slender as the agrimonias. “These hawksbeards here mean something similar—protection and contentment.”
“And some Peruvian lilies,” he says, picking up some flowers in a darker shade of yellow, with lines of purple decorating its petals. “They mean a lot of things: wealth, fortune, and devotion. If it’s for your mom, you probably want the most for her, right?”
You nod. There’s a strange intimacy in the interaction, listening to someone speak about something they’re clearly passionate about in such a quiet environment. You reach out to take the bouquet he’s begun assembling, and for a split second, your fingers brush.
He doesn’t pull away immediately. Instead, his eyes flicker to your face in amusement then he steps back with a grin. He plucks a white flower from one of the nearby displays and twirls it between his fingers.
“Here,” he says, holding it out to you. “A calla lily. Consider it a welcome gift.”
“What does it mean?”
“Magnificent beauty,” he replies smoothly, “like you.”
You freeze, caught between surprise and amusement. The confidence in his delivery makes you think that this is a regular schtick he does with his customers; however, for a beat too long, you consider if he could be as genuine as the flowers that he sells.
A laugh bubbles up in your throat as you notice the board on the counter that reads Flower Puffs in colorful chalk.
“Well, thank you… Flower Puff Boy,” you finally reply.
“I don’t know if I like the sound of that,” he cackles, slapping a hand over his eyes. “But Jay would probably be better,” he corrects. “And you?”
—
It all began there, and you kept on coming back. Every occasion has become a perfect time to come visit Jay’s shop.
And each time, he gives you a flower. Even on days where you decide not to purchase anything and just pass the time at his shop, you always leave with a single flower in your hand. You keep them all, pressed in between pages of your books, tucked into vases by your windowsill, like tokens of each visit. In your mind, you’ve authored a tiny dictionary of all their meanings.
Wood sorrels for joy, when a childhood friend came to visit you in the city.
Mayflowers for perseverance, when your boss just recovered from a major surgery.
Lemon geraniums for unexpected meetings, when you welcomed a new guy in the workplace.
Then he gave you a lily of the valley for the return of happiness, because he hadn’t expected you to come back so soon.
Then milkvetches, because, as he put it, your presence softened his pains—something he didn’t explain further.
Then French marigolds for jealousy, after you mentioned to him how attractive the new guy at work was.
He didn’t seem to lie about what his flowers meant, yet you never took the time to question if the flowers really meant anything to him—to you. After all, he’s just a merchant, and you’re just a customer. Assuming otherwise would be foolish, especially when, after nearly a year of frequenting his shop, you knew nothing much other than his name and his line of work.
What do you do outside the shop? What else do you like other than flowers?
Were those even questions you could ask?
And yet, you still return. Not exactly for him, but for the giddy feeling you get when you learn something new about a flower—or so you tell yourself.
The bell rings as you step inside, and as always, the familiar florist stands behind the counter, carefully arranging a bouquet. He’s leaning over the counter, speaking with a customer—a guy around your age, donning an oversized sweater and smiling brightly. Jay notices you, glancing at you, but his attention is swiftly drawn back to the man he was talking to.
You really didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but the shop is too small not to overhear everything. Turning to the wooden displays, you pretend to browse through the flowers, testing yourself on the meanings you’ve learned.
“With a love letter and everything,” the guy says.
Jay chuckles. “Sounds… romantic… Who’s the lucky guy?”
Mustards. Greenish-yellow, as in the plant with the seeds that are used to make the condiment with the same name. It meant indifference, Jay said, when you wanted to buy something for a leaving coworker who you really didn’t care about.
“No idea. The flowers had me thinking they got it from you.”
Jay hums. “Sunoo got one. Then I think Heeseung?”
Cobaeas. Large, bell-shaped, and violet. Gossip, like you tuning in more to their conversation. Who are these people that they’re mentioning?
“Heeseung?” the guy repeats.
“Said he’s getting ‘em to cheer someone up. Maybe it’s him?”
The guy laughs. “I don’t think he swings my way. If it’s Sunoo or Heeseung, then this person probably bought it elsewhere.”
Goldenrods. So small, Jay just uses them to fill up his flower arrangements. He said they could mean precaution, but for what exactly?
“I hope you find out soon, or maybe not. Then I’ll make you a better bouquet. No secret messages though, just a delicate arrangement of flowers from your favorite florist.”
French marigolds. Jealousy. Huh.
You turn back to the couple by the counter, finding the guy chuckling and shaking his head. “I’ll take that offer when the mystery turns exhausting. But I’m pretty invested right now.”
Jay smiles at him, all easygoing and warm as usual. “Let me know how it turns out then.”
The guy waves goodbye, taking one last look at the bouquet in his hands before heading out. Jay then exhales, fingers tapping against the wood. He notices you again, now with his full attention, and grins.
“What’re you doing over there? Come tell me your excuse for visiting today. Don’t tell me it’s Lunar New Year.”
You force a chuckle, stepping closer. “Birthday of a friend. Was just testing if I remember the botanical stuff you’ve taught me.”
Jay tilts his head. He points to some oxeye daisies, petals white with a yellow center. “What do those mean?”
“Patience. Purity. The he-loves-me-he-loves-me-not flower.”
“Correct,” he replies, picking one and twirling it between his fingers. “Is this friend you’re talking about a friend-friend or…”
“Or?”
“Friends with ulterior motives,” Jay laughs. “Friends from a different dimension.”
You shake your head, chuckling. “No. A real, very existing friend.”
Jay studies you for a moment, an embarrassing warmth creeping into your face. You might make every occasion an excuse to visit Jay, but you won’t stoop so low as to invent stories about imaginary people.
“You have to stop giving out flowers on a whim like that, your friend might misinterpret,” he says.
You hesitate briefly, then you roll your eyes in realization. “I could say the same thing about you giving free flowers to all your customers.”
Jay furrows his brows. “I don’t?”
“Huh?”
A beat passes.
“I don’t give free flowers to all my customers,” Jay repeats.
“Just me then?”
If not all customers, then maybe just the ones who buy a lot. That makes sense. Definitely not just you, don’t be delusional.
“Just you, yeah.”
“Oh.”
The guy from earlier left with his bouquet and nothing else. Another beat passes. Then Jay claps his hands together.
“So! A birthday bouquet. Got flowers in mind or you want my floral magic again?”
You blankly nod, mind still reeling from what Jay has just told you. “You do your magic, I’ll watch.”
Jay begins to work, slow as he selects the first few flowers, then fingers moving more efficiently as the flower arrangement grows into something more colorful and “meaningful.” You shift your weight from foot to foot as you watch him, letting the faint snip of scissors and rustling of wrapping paper fill in the silence.
After a moment, you find yourself asking: “Do you really believe in it?”
Jay glances up, pausing from cutting a length of pink ribbon. “In what?”
“Flowers and their meanings,” you clarify.
“Well, they mean something if you want them to,” he replies, before resuming what he was doing with the ribbon, gently tying it around the bouquet. “I mean,” Jay hesitates. “Flowers are just like any other gift or gesture. They only matter as much as you let them.”
He pushes the finished bouquet towards you, giving you a warm smile. “Or maybe you just like giving beautiful people something beautiful, and that’s as valid as any other reason,” he adds. “I’ve never been good with words anyway, so I’d appreciate flowers even if they really meant nothing other than pretty, colorful things.”
You nod, smiling back in understanding. Then the words tumble out before you can think too hard about them, a joke too sincere, a humorous statement that’s been stripped of its humor. Because you’re just that good with words unlike this Flower Puff Boy.
“Would it be fraternization with the enemy if I brought you flowers for Valentine’s?”
Jay stills, a flicker of surprise crossing his face. Then he catches on. “I guess I’ll give you white catchflies then. Betrayal!”
“I don’t know,” you sigh, prodding at the bouquet on the counter. “Have to check out the competition.”
Jay gasps dramatically, placing a hand over his chest. “After all the free flowers!?”
Your lips twitch. “Wasn’t exactly a fan of such a manipulative business tactic,” you joke.
He clicks his tongue in mock offence. “Guess I’ll have to stop the freebies then.”
The playful banter comes easily, but your heart stutters, thumping in your chest and wavering your voice in the process. For almost a year, you thought that Jay’s easy charm was just part of customer service. Maybe it was, but now, it definitely doesn’t feel like it.
“Valentine’s, huh?” Jay grins. “Receiving flowers on that day instead of selling them would be a change.”
You glance at the long-forgotten bouquet for your friend, your fingers idly brushing over the brown paper wrapped around the flowers.
“Actually,” you start, voice a little quieter, “could you make another bouquet for me? To pick up on a different day? Forgot something.”
Jay lifts an eyebrow. “Oh? What occasion?”
You smile, keeping it light. “Secret.”
Jay playfully narrows his eyes. “Am I gonna be jealous of another ‘friend’ of yours?”
“Should you?” you laugh, making Jay grumble in fake frustration. “I’ve got specific flowers in mind.”
“Okay, tell me what flowers you want,” he sighs. “I’ll prepare them by the date you need them.”
White chrysanthemums. Moss rosebuds. Peach blossoms. And lastly, yellow jonquils.
“Do you know what these flowers mean?” Jay slowly asks, as if he’s still processing the list of flowers you just gave him.
You nod, heat once again rushing to your face. “Do you?”
Jay shrugs, a small smile tugging at his lips. “We might have different dictionaries. Spell it out for me, please?”
You take a moment, the words spilling as if it came from a script, though your voice shakes. “I’m not lying when I say that this is a confession. You have captivated me and I desire a return of this affection.”
“That’s quite a specific message,” Jay replies, exhaling. “Who’s it for then?”
You meet his gaze, feeling the weight of what this scene means. “You.”
Jay shakes his head, but you see the fondness in his expression. “You’re ridiculous,” he mutters. “When will you be picking it up?”
“On Valentine’s, of course.”
He laughs. “I’m a florist. Wait for my reply in flowers by then.”
A sense of ease washes over you. “I’ll see you by then, Flower Puff Boy.”
Jay watches you with a smile as you turn toward the door, the familiar chime ringing once again.
For the first time, you leave the shop with no free flower to take home. And for the first time, you’re comfortable admitting that it wasn’t just the flowers that you were always looking forward to.

Agrimonia genus
(Agrimony)
(Image by W.A. Delamotte from William Baxter's British Phaenogamous Botany, 1834)
History and Etymology: This genus of flowers has many recorded uses, however not much is known of it's history. The word "agrimony" is nearly the same in its derived Greek, and no one know why this flower was named as such. Flower Symbolism: Agrimony has a very simple meaning. It stands for thankfulness and gratitude.
Fun Facts:
Agrimonia has 12-15 different species within the genus, and are mostly separated due to the location in which they grow.
Agrimony has a larger variety of medical uses than a lot of other flowers. It has been used for eye issues, used as a way to heal wounds, etc etc.
A stalk of this flower can typically reach around 6 feet high, although the petals at the top usually cause it to droop.

@madefate asked:
Blitz has been planning this for weeks. And honestly? It's been fun. Once he'd realized the date, he'd made careful notes on his calendar. When they woke in the morning, right after Blitz would slip out for work, an entire chest of fancy teas would be delivered to the doorstep. He was no connoisseur, and neither was Fizz when he'd asked for help, but apparently Moxxie was, despite his coffee preference, and he'd helped Blitz go over an entire fuckin' tasting menu so he could pick out the right blends as part of present number one.
Then, of course, would be the flower delivery - and this part Blitz had pored over. Stolas had told him that plants had meanings or symbolism before, and Octavia had given him a start, then he'd dutifully done his research - even popped into the human world to get a few kinds that didn't grow down here, all of them potted and waiting to be lovingly transferred to the greenhouse. Pink acacias for elegance, agrimonia for gratitude, apple blossoms for hope for the future, moonflowers for dreams of love, red orchids for passion and purple for respect, edelweiss for Blitz's devotion, red roses for his love.
The last was the trickiest but also the most exciting. Most of the weeks had been spent trying to get a reservation for the actual night of Stolas' birthday - one of the most desired restaurants in Lust, which was conveniently located by one of the fancy clubs: no dive bar in sight, but drinks and dancing. And he'd managed to snag that reservation the night before, to his enormous relief. All that was left was putting it together.
He'd skipped out of the office early, giving himself enough time to shower and change into an outfit he'd managed to buy under Stolas' radar - little silvery moon cufflinks on the cuffs and a tiny rose pin on the lapel. Honestly, not half bad. By the time he gets back to the estate, Blitz is practically vibrating with anticipation even as he tries to coolly lean against the doorframe until Stolas answers it.
❝ Hey. ❞ There's so much warmth in his voice, sweet and heady. ❝ I've actually been meaning to ask - can I take you out on a date tonight? ❞
birthday bird!

When Stolas had realized what day it was, he expected that it would be just another day, that the biggest thing to celebrate would be the fact that he did not have to spend today with Stella, reminded of just how little he mattered. Instead, he could wake up with Blitz, knowing that he was loved, that he no longer had to endure terrible parties that ostensibly should have been at least partly about him, but had been deliberately planned to make him feel as small as possible. He would be able to have a calm, relatively carefree day ,and that was perfectly fine. Perhaps he would find a cupcake and a candle, to mark the occasion, but did he really need more than that?
"Have a good day at work, darling," Stolas had said as he'd seen Blitz off, along with the usual "Stay safe!" Stolas had his own work to do, though it was not nearly as exciting as Blitz's, much as he enjoyed his time among the stars. He was expected to do several readings, though they were not pressing; they could wait if they really needed to.
Stolas had just been about to head to his office, to at least start gathering everything he needed together when he heard a vehicle approaching. A little frown slipped onto his face as he realized it wasn't one he recognized (though that wasn't difficult; he mostly just knew the sound of Blitz's van, at this point). After a few moments, there was a knock on the door, the sound reverberating through the hall, magically enhanced so it could be heard anywhere in the palace.
He hadn't gone far, and he made his way to the door, puzzled as to what this could be. Stolas didn't remember ordering anything, though he supposed it was possible Via had. That was likely all this was: a delivery of Via's packages.
But upon further inspection, it isn't addressed to Via; it's addressed to him.
Stolas blinks for a moment, and opens the box to reveal a veritable treasure chest filled with all sorts of different teas. His eyes go wide as he sees them, and he quickly finds some of his absolute favourite blends, along with quite a few he's never tried before.
"Oh, Blitz," he breathes out, because he has no doubts about where this had come from, hugging the gift to his chest. Not only had he remembered that today was Stolas' birthday, it was the nicest thing someone other than Octavia had done for his birthday in a long time, and he couldn't wait to try all of them.
He took the chest with him to the kitchen, so he could organize his new teas the way he liked, which would also help him keep track of which he'd tried and which he hadn't. Stolas hummed a little tune to himself as he set the kettle to boil while he sorted. He was going to have a lovely cup of tea before he got to work.
But before he started putting his lovely gift away, he took a selfie hugging the open chest, to display the lovely teas inside that he quickly sent off to Blitz.
[sent. Blitz ❤️❤️] [image attached] Thank you, darling. I absolutely love them. Having a cup now!
The kettle startled to whistle, and by the time Stolas had put his new blends away and taken the time to enjoy the cup he'd prepared, there was another magically amplified knock at the door.
His first instinct was still that it likely wasn't for him, but the moment he opened the door, that was proven to be wildly incorrect. Stolas couldn't help the way he bounced on his feet at the sight that met his eyes. Rather than a bouquet of flowers, there was a veritable garden of them, ones he could plant and cultivate on his own, something he absolutely loved doing. And quite a few of these he didn't have in his greenhouse, hadn't been able to find. And not only had Blitz gone out of his way to send him flowers he could nurture, the meanings of the ones he'd sent….., Stolas reaches out a trembling hand and runs it along the delicate petals, whispering the name and meaning of each flower.
By the time he gets to the roses, he's having trouble keeping hold of his emotions. Blitz had put so much thought and care into this gift, and Stolas was practically overwhelmed.
Stolas carefully transports all of the flowers to the greenhouse, getting them settled onto his workbench for now. Even though he wanted to plant them right away, he wants to see if Blitz wants to plant them together; that would be absolutely lovely. And then he can share one of his favourite hobbies with one of his favourite people.
As soon as he was in the greenhouse, he used his magic to pull out his phone, holding the flowers in his arms as he took another selfie.
[sent. Blitz ❤️❤️] [image attached] I love you too.
He's honestly not sure how he's supposed to actually go work after this, not when he just wants to portal to I.M.P. to thank Blitz properly. But he knows he's working, and he doesn't want to interrupt him, especially when he's already planning on coming back to the palace after work. Though with everything else he'd done today, Stolas had a feeling that he'd planned that part, too.
After a few more minutes with his new flowers, making sure they're properly watered, that they'll be all right in their pots until he has a chance to plant them, Stolas forced himself up to his office, to get at least a little work done, despite how giddy he felt.
Once he got started, he was actually able to get some things done, even if he stopped earlier than he usually would. He'd just been considering texting Blitz, just because, when he heard another knock on the door.
Stolas pulled open the door, only to be greeted by the absolutely glorious sight of Blitz standing there, dressed particularly handsomely. A bright smile slips onto his face as he takes a moment to just look Blitz over, very much enjoying the view.
❝ Hey. ❞ Stolas' grin only widens when he hears the tone of Blitz's voice, and he lets out a happy little coo, without fully realizing it.
❝ I've actually been meaning to ask - can I take you out on a date tonight? ❞
And for a moment, Stolas thinks he's just going to melt right there in the doorway. Blitz had already been so thoughtful and sent him lovely gifts, and now he wanted to take him on a date?
"Darling, you are absolutely spoiling me," he murmurs, but he cannot hide the absolute excitement in his expression. "Do I have time to change? I have to make sure to match my exceedingly handsome date," Stolas lets out another little coo. "Because I must say, he looks absolutely incredible. Along with being the most thoughtful, sweet man I've had the pleasure of calling mine." Which was his way of saying, yes, of course Blitz could take him on a date. This was shaping up to be his best birthday in a very long time.

White Lily Cookie & Elder Faerie: In Loving Memory
Warning: death mention
White Lily Cookie carried her beautiful baby, (Y/N) Cookie, to the Silver Tree. She carried her baby in a little basket in one hand, with the baby being covered by a (color) blanket. Her little baby was fast asleep. In her other hand were a bouquet of Agrimonia flowers.
She set the basket down, sat beside said basket, and began to set the flowers all around the tree.
"Thank you for lending me the strength to protect my friends. Without your sacrifice, my little baby would not be here. I wish (Y/N) Cookie could meet you properly, I think they would have loved you."
White Lily Cookie began to tear up. Her beloved friend, and godparent/grandparent to her baby, had sacrificed his life for the sake of the Faeries and to seal up Shadow Milk Cookie.
She went up to the tree and hugged it tightly. A few tears fell down her face.
"I miss you Elder Faerie.." she whispered, tears still flowing smoothly down her face.
She let go of the tree to turn back to the basket, when a familiar looking butterfly looked at her. She quickly wiped her tears away.
She picked up the butterfly on her hand, as the butterfly flapped its wings three times. It was as if, it was saying hello. The butterfly flew off her hand and landed on top of (Y/N) Cookie's head. White Lily Cookie smiled as new tears formed.
"Elder Faerie," she started to speak, "I'm pretty sure I have told you before, but.. This is (Y/N) Cookie, my perfect Cookie. Do you.. Like them?"
The butterfly landed on a white heather flower. Then the butterfly landed on two flower crowns of cinquefoil flowers. One was smaller than the other. White Lily Cookie teared up, knowing the meanings of both flowers.
"Elder Faerie..." she said as she choked on her tears.
(Y/N) Cookie began to cry, waking up from their nap. She picked up her baby and carefully brought them to her chest. She picked up the two flower crowns and put one on her head and the other on (Y/N) Cookie's head.
She turned to the butterfly as she quietly shushed the little baby. She watched as the butterfly landed on a purple orchid.
She smiled and gave a nod. The butterfly flew away into the sky, off to an unknown location. She turned to her baby and smiled.
"Shhh, shhh... There there. I am here."

Finally out for a proper walk for the first time in a week. Feeling much better for it. Not away all that long but so much has changed, a lot of this Agrimony has sprung up for instance. Edited from Wikipedia: "Agrimonia eupatoria is often referred to as common agrimony, church steeples or sticklewort. The flower spikes have a spicy odour like apricots [I'm going to check this tomorrow]. In the language of flowers, agrimony means thankfulness or gratitude. "In folklore "Agrimony has been stated to have medical and magical properties since the time of Pliny the Elder. It is ruled astrologically by Cancer, according to Nicholas Culpeper. Common folklore held that it could cure musket wounds and ward off witchcraft. "Traditional British folklore states that if a sprig of the plant was placed under a person's head, they would sleep until it was removed." ______ #today #todayis #diary #calendar #photooftheday #lockdownproject #nature #naturephotography #wildflowers #yellow #agrimony #Agrimoniaeupatoria #sticklewort #surrey #uk #panasonic #urth #helios44 #helios442 #helios44_2 #lumixs1 #lumixuk https://www.instagram.com/p/CQjgBboH8_u/?utm_medium=tumblr

Magic Monday
Herbal Edition
By Amber Dawn
Hello all! Today I’m going to talk about the physical and magical properties of Agrimony.
Important note: this is by no means medical advice, if you have health concerns please contact your family doctor.
Agrimonia, commonly known as Agrimony, is a member of the rose family. It’s native range is in the temperate Northern hemisphere with one member in Africa, Agrimonia eupatoria (Common agrimony). Common Agrimony is what we’ll be focusing on today. Like other herbs, it can go by many other names. Liverwort, cockleburr, church steeples, and sticklewort are some of it’s other aliases.
The plant is dark green with plentiful softs hairs, the hairs help to stick its seed pods to animals or people that come in contact with it. The flowers have five rounded petals, are a lovely yellow, and they smell like apricot! The plant itself grows to about three and a quarter feet tall (39 inches). It is a deciduous and perennial plant. It’s also herbaceous which means they have no woody stem above ground. The roots are deep rhizomes and the leaves are feather like and serrated.
In the language of flowers they represent thankfulness and gratitude! So you might want to add this lovely to a bouquet you plan on giving someone close to you that you appreciate.
Agrimony has been used as a medicinal and magical ingredient since at least the time of Pliny the elder. Pliny himself had stated that agrimony was “a herb of sovereign power.” Medicinally, the plant has been used for incontinence, urinary tract infections, problems with the liver, sore throats, skin complaints, and flesh wounds. In medieval times it was used to staunch bleeding of wounds and menstrual bleeding! (Medieval Midol?)
For a light skin treatment for inflamed or irritated skin, add a teaspoon of dried agrimony to one cup of hot water. Like it steep for about 10 minutes and then strain. Once the tea has cooled enough to comfortably dip your finger into, was the irritated skin gently with the tea.
You can also pour the cup of tea into a bath with oatmeal for skin soothing effects.
Now for the magical properties!
In British folklore, it’s said that placing a sprig of agrimony under a person’s pillow will keep that person asleep until the agrimony is removed. I haven’t tried this myself (and I doubt it works like that) but this is an example of how people have used this herb for dream and sleep magic. You can sew this into a dream sachet with mugwort for vivid or prophetic dreams. If you try this, remember to keep a dream journal nearby for when you wake up so you can write down what you saw quickly!
Agrimony can also be a useful herb to overcome fears and inner blocks that prevent us from moving forwards emotionally or spiritually. You can dispel negative emotions by using this as an incense on a charcoal disk. (Note: herbs as incense burn quickly and may smoke quite a bit, so be careful!) You could also make an infused oil with this herb and then use that oil to anoint a candle that can be used in healing spells and rituals to increase their effectiveness.
Hell, you can just use this herb in any which way you want, it’s just great for increasing healing magic effects. I find it best for emotional healing though. Pair with blue calcite to lift anxieties and fears. Use with pyrite to lessen anxiety and boost self confidence! Agrimony and kunzite can work together well to help with self expression and expressing feelings.
If you’re feel that something in your space is attracting malevolent entities or energies, do a cleanse of the area (a page on cleansing is to come!) and then sprinkle agrimony across doorways and windows. Or make an agrimony tea and sprinkle it over doorframes, if you can you can splash it down the pathway leading to your home or on any stair to the front door.
This is also a good herb to use in reversing spells. Remember, always have a reversal spell on hand whenever doing magic. I’m just saying. It’s a good idea.
Anyway, I hope you found this useful and that you have a new appreciation for this beautiful herb!
May blessings and good health find you.
