I’ve slowly been building up my list of KM fics and thought I might as well share them with the rest of the Tumblr-sphere (and organize them all because if the rest of my life is a mess, at least my fav fics can be orderly amirite)! I’m somewhat new to BTS and KM so it’s not too big a list, but I’m going to be updating this as I find more that I enjoy :) Happy Reading!

you are the ruler of the stars (and my heart) by cygnus (sunsprite) | Words: 18k | Jimin reluctantly joins his college’s Space and Astronomy club on the basis of Taehyung’s persuasion. Surrounded by a group of unnecessarily tall space nerds, he unexpectedly finds himself falling in love with one of them.

OH MY GOD THIS WAS SO CUTE. One of my fav fluffy fics to be honest. I was squealing basically the whole time i was reading. love.

i’ll stick to you like glue-cose by cygnus (sunsprite) | Words: 7k | Jimin merely wanted to study in peace, yet a certain five-foot ten frat boy -- unfortunately also a past hookup -- that epitomizes the very definition of smugness in one entire body whose ego is as big and full-scaled as the national debt, won’t let him.

Another super cute fluffy fic!!! i just found this author and the fluff is just so amazingly written and not cliche at all and ugh. JK acts like he’s all suave but he’s really just a big softie and AH.

friday nights (with you) by kstorms | Words: 24k | How a random night at a karaoke bar leaves Jimin with two new friends and a frowny, terribly handsome crush.

Anther classic tbh. I think I’ve read this through like four or five times bc i have literally no life and enjoy this VERY well written humor. There’s like zero angst in this and it’s all mostly Taehyung being a very cute little shit to JK (KM is there obvs and they super cute but ya know). Def a must read.

okay LISTEnn. This summary makes this fic sound a lot dirtier than it is (ok yes it’s smutty BUT there’s more fluff in this than anything else. its so so so cute.)

Studio 2 by Charmander | Words: 20k WIP | Somewhere along the way, Jimin lost that passion he used to pour into his art, watching as it slipped through his very fingers. But street kid Jungkook is all heart and soul, and he’s more than willing to help Jimin learn to burn with the same fire he carries inside himself.

okay so this one is very plot heavy (as is most of Charmander’s fics) so don’t think you’re getting JUST smut. it has an amazing storyline about sexuality struggles and i think a lot of you would enjoy it! (the smut is bomb af tho sooo)

Starstruck by SugaTheTurtle | Words: 5k | Everyone is attracted to idols at one point or another. As part of Big Hit’s staff, Jimin really shouldn’t still be as attracted to Jungkook as he was at the beginning. Maybe if he wasn’t he wouldn’t be stuck hiding inside a closet in his dressing room silently praying that the idol was reaching for the zipper on his pants to change into something more comfortable.

ALRIGHTY HERE WE GO LADIES AND GENTS. This is for all you kinky fuckers out there who love pure smut. It was very interesting at first but as it progressed i was like whoaoaa i need some holy water. this fic is the epitome of “well, that escalated quickly” (but it’s still not rushed ??? which like...how?) enjoy! lmao.

Interlude by Bunbungee | Words: 9k | Jungkook has fallen in love at first listen with Jimin’s interlude and he won’t stop until he finds out why he is reacting so strongly to it. His search for answers takes a new turn when, one night, he discovers just how much the song can affect him.

Okay this was smutty, but still SUPER CUTE bc jeon is his typical shy bunny self who’s super oblivious and jimin is just a sweetheart. looooove.

Wet Depths by WorldwideWriter | Words: 10k | All it takes for Jungkook to break is a slightly unfair swimming competition and a too seductive Jimin.

GIVE ME ALL THE ENEMIES TO LOVERS FICS hell yes. I love their dynamic in this one, they hate each other (but they really don’t lol like come on.) and the sexual tension is insane.

everybody’s watching him, but he’s looking at you by jonghyunslisterine | Words: 6k| In which Jimin formulates a three-step plan to get the hot bouncer to notice him. (Spoiler: it doesn’t go quite as expected.)

okay this is smutty but also super cute so like idk where to put it but jimin wears a thong in it so i think the smut category will suffice. a quick read but so worth it, JK is a lowkey sweetheart.

Blood & Chocolate by MyHope (CutesyMe) | Words: 35k | “What if I only want you to sit on my lap?” the stranger asks, which is an odd request. People always want Jimin to dance for them. Only sometimes do they ask of him to just sit on their lap but event hen he has to move in some way and not just sit still.

“Same price,” Jimin retorts.

Jungkook spreads his legs slightly and motions to his lap as if it’s the best seat that has ever been offered to Jimin. “Be my guest.”

so i don’t really know what to say here but i loved their dynamic in this fic?? i love the way JK treats JM in this ahhhh its SMUTTY AF but he still super sweet and protective. There’s sooooome angst but it’s not too bad. Good plot.

New Heights by Charmander | Words 11k| There’s no better way to remind yourself that you’re alive than tempting fate from 700 meters above the ground and the searing touch of another’s fingers dragging down your chest.

1000% my favorite smut fic out there. the dialogue written in this fic is so well-done and absolutely hilarious. Sexual tension is CRAZY. love his fics.

give in to the game by cherrygloss | Words: 23k | “Jimin, if you honestly think that I’m going to pretend to be your boyfriend so you can make your ex jealous, then you’re out of your mind.”

How to Seduce Your Dance Teacher by Jeon Jungkook by soranosuzu | Words: 5k | Currently there are a million thoughts racing through Jungkook’s brain, but two very prominent ones finally beat their way to the forefront of his mind. First, Jimin is hot as hell and Jungkook needs to find a way to get into his pants. Second (and maybe slightly more urgent than the first), Jungkook needs to find a way to prevent himself from popping a boner every time Jimin does that in the future and, more importantly, right now.

(aka AU in which Jungkook devises a plan to seduce his ridiculously hot dance teacher Jimin)

wow okay so this one was a tear-jerker. you sympathize with both JK and JM but you’re also sort of frustrated with them at the same time?? soso good, definitely give it a read.

serendipity (none of this is a coincidence) by nclnns | Words: 30k | Jimin feels like crying.

Because the boy -- Jeon Jungkook as he had learnt a week ago -- is the exact opposite of Jimin.

And he’s the person Jimin’s boyfriend has been cheating on him with.

In which Jimin finds out that Taehyung is cheating on him with a boy named Jeon Jungkook and in the quest to understand what went wrong, he ends up falling in love with said boy.

so i haven’t read this one in a few months but i remember it being one of the first KM fics i had ever bookmarked, so it must have hit me in some way. JK is a sweetie though from what i remember.

On Patrol by Ragi | Words: 129k| Officer Jeon has his eyes on Mr. Adorable. Officer Min has a strange neighbor he can’t seem to keep out of his life. Captain Kim finds comfort in his son’s homeroom teacher.

Well, cops need some loving too, right?

Okay so this isn’t like suuuuper angsty but it’s also not smutty nor super fluffy either??? So idk where to put it but i think angst fits this most. I also laughed quite a bit during this so it has humor!! Tae is also like an 8 year-old kid LDJAFODJOA (ft. Sope and Namjin)

we’re not broken just bent by calipha | Words 16k | “You’ll die,” Jimin hisses and they’re so close now that his perfect illusion is broken. Jungkook can see his dark circles, can see Jimin’s lips, red and raw from biting.

“I did almost die in this house once, five years ago,” he whispers, watching as Jimin clenches his jaw but doesn’t look away. “I think I can handle more. I’m bigger and stronger now, see?” Jimin holds his gaze for two seconds before it tracks south to move down Jungkook’s body.

MY HARRY POTTER LOVIN ASS IS VERY SATISFIED. jimin is just a misunderstood bb and jungkook is trying SO HARD not to pine ajweklfkldf.

Read in 2019 Books Part 1

Suddenly decided I'd like to write a little about my Read in 2019 Books list (and practice my crusty English a little. win-win). Overall I'd read 52 books, including 5 graphic novels and shitton of nonfiction. There will be 4 parts.

Ok, let's start.

January to April

January

1. Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman - Good Omens. This was fun, even though I was reluctant to read it, since I had read 2 books by Pratchett about 10 years ago and didn't like them. Dunno. Maybe not my thing, maybe it was not his best works. Speaking of Gaiman, I love Stardust, Ocean in the End of Lane and especially The View from the Cheap Seats - it was amazing reading - but didn't like American Gods and some of short stories. Well, at least this can be easily explained - I'm not into dark edgy stuff, well mostly. Anyway, Good Omens was surprisingly good reading, and I liked TV series too. Though I liked kids' scenes more in book, than in series, but more Aziraphael&Crowley balances it, so can't say adaptation worse than book - both are fun.

2. Robert Sapolsky - Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers: The Acclaimed Guide to Stress, Stress-Related Diseases, and Coping. Whew. Russian title's WAY shorted than this. I think I already said somewhere here how I love Sapolsky, he's my fav professor and all. Watched his course Human Behaviour Biology on YouTube (thanks to Vert Dider it's translated to Russian), and then I just had to read his books. And if you want deeper understanding how this fucking stress thing works, than you should read this book. It's a little depressing - to know how badly stress affects us, but also has one chapter in the end with advice how to try to reduce it. And. Important thing when it comes to this type if nonfiction. I've only had biology lessons in school, my profession is very far from it, but it wasn't too hard to understrand even more complicated chapters.

3. Tana French - The Secret Place. Yup, why don't we start from the 5th book in series? The order is not so important in here though. I think I've seen @rivervixens rec on this book here on Tumblr. And I'm so glad for that. Tana French's writing is amazing. I've read her other books (about that later), but this one remains my favourite. Also I recommended it to my dad and he liked it very much too.

4. Tana French - In the Woods. This one I liked less - mostly because main character was annoying. I still liked the writing, so didn't stop on this, even if took a pause.

February

5. Emily X.R. Pan - The Astonishing Color of After. This one doesn't have Russian translation, so English it was. Another fav of the year. This story is about dealing with the loss of parent, so it is emotionally heavy. And at first I was sceptical about magical realism here. But in the end it wrapped up nicely. Bonus points: large part of the book takes place in Taipei, and maybe you don't know but there was long period in my life when I was super into everything Taiwanese: music, movies, tv series... So. Good read, can't recommend it enough.

6. Jason Schreier - Blood, Sweat, and Pixels: The Triumphant, Turbulent Stories Behind How Video Games Are Made. Another nonfiction with longass title. Super different theme. I like to play video games. Back in childhood we had Dendy, 3-DO and then PC - with DOS OS, Win 3.1 and forth and forth. I tried almost all genres back then I think, aside from mmo. But in the end I love only very specific one: single player RPG where you can create your own MC and have some kind of band of opinionated misfits. The last one I played was Dragon Age: Inquisition, which had astonishing scenery, some good story ideas (and some halfassed and some really terrible), 50 shades of bald/undercut instead of variety of hairstyles for your character, and fucking male animation for female MC. So, I had questions. And I've got some answers in this book. And better understanding of gamedev industry, since the book tells us about 10 most popular games from the last few years. If you are interested in video games and want some light nonfiction reading - this book is for you.

7. Theodora Goss - In the Forest of Forgetting. This is magical realism short stories and also the reason why so few read books in February. The writing is good, so it wasn't a problem. The problem was, probably, that I rarely like short stories (exceptions are Dreams Underfoot by Charles de Lint and In the Field Marshal's Shadow by Brian McClellan). Why do I stubbornly read them, I have no idea. If you know really good fantasy/steam-punk/mythopoetic/magical realism short stories, please recommend them to me.

8. Arsinoe de Blassenville - Victory at Ostagar. Okay this is actually a Dragon Age fic. Extra Super Long fic. Like 6 normal books long. For some reason it was on goodreads, so I added it here. This is not the best DA fanfic I'd read, not in my favs, MC feels like Mary Sue, I find some plot points weird and some characterization not on point, also didn't like the ending (not liking the ending is totally my problem, 'cause I find endings where everyone is paired up and with kids exceptionally annoying)... But it was interesting to read headcanon so vastly different from mine while not totally gruesome, which happens in this fandom frequently from what I've seen. And, you know it's still better than official DA books. Also, it won't be mentioned in this list, but I've read much better DA longfic in summer, and if you want a rec just ask.

9. Madeline Miller - Circe. Full disclosure: I'm not so much into Greek Mythology - I was in school, but not now. But I like when myth or legend or fairytale is told from different perspective, and this book was all over the goodreads recs, so. And it totally delivered. Thank you, goodreads, your recs are much better than livelib's.

April

10. Tana French - The Likeness. Back to Tana French, yay! Just you know, Russian title is changed and not for good. To something like Can the Dead be Back? Yep, in Russian it sounds just as awkward. Why must you do that, publishers? Whyyyy?! Anyway. Liked this one better than In the Woods, and don't find MC annoying, even if I didn't always understand her. Ah! I watched 3 eps (out of 8) of TV adaptation, which is based on the first 2 books. It has some good points, but overall the decision to merge two books in one timeline is making it messy.

11. Tana French - Faithful Place. Was good too.

12. T. Kingfisher - Clockwork Boys. Look at this. This is rare steam-punk jem. My favourite trope - band of misfits goes on quest full of dangers. In this case - unwillingly. They are very different people: a paladin, an assassin, a forger, and a scholar. The writing is brilliant! Dialogues are full of sarcasm and puns! It has some deep emotional stuff, it's full of action, despite it's size. And a pity - it is not translated, and it's a bit difficult to read such an intense writing. But still, I plan to read the second book this year.

13. Megan Miranda - All the Missing Girls. Ugh. Dunno how to tell about this one. The book was interesting to read, but it's full of liars. Seriously. From what I remember now, the only decent person was MC's fiancee, who seems like a good guy and totally didn't deserve how she treated him. And I'm usually on the girl's side. Maybe it's trope subversion. And MC's friends and their so-called friendship? Some unhealthy shit there. My main problem with this was probably the unsatisfactory ending. Can’t say anything more without spoilers, sorry.

Ohhhh my god DiaMari is my jam. Especially if they were competing with something. An idea you can take or leave: running competing lemonade stands. As high schoolers. Bonus points if there's some poor elementary school kid with a lemonade stand who they (unintentionally?) drive off with their extraness

I only did a quick proof read but I hope there aren’t too many bad tenses or typos, and all English words said by Mari are in italics

“ARE YOU SERIOUS?! SHE’S LOWERING HER PRICES AGAIN?!” Dia all but shouts into the void as Mari paints a big slash through the price listing outside her lemonade stand on the beach.

It was a simple idea at first- sell lemonade to raise some money for the group for fabric that would be made into their new costumes. It’s easy enough, and it means not relying on the wealthier members constantly to supply funding for their outfits. It was such a nice, innocent idea. Nothing could possibly have gone wrong. They plotted out the best place to put their stand, found the best tasting recipe, everything was planned perfectly down to the last detail.

Somewhere along the line, Dia and Mari debated on how to sell their lemonade. Mari insisted a big sparkly stand would catch more than enough attention, maybe have some of the girls distribute fliers in flashy bathing suits. Dia disagreed. The display of their stand didn’t matter as long as it looked professional. What really mattered was that people knew their lemonade was The Best. Small taster samples would be given out and each cup would be sold at no higher than 200 yen. A decent price for the best tasting lemonade.

Their disagreement went so far, the only thing that could solve it was to see who did better- who made the most profits and who sold the most cups of lemonade at the beach. Whoever wins gets bragging rights and the satisfaction of winning their first day of lemonade sales. The loser has to do whatever punishment the winner see’s fit.

Ruby sighs as her sister clenches her fist and watches as Mari makes the price of her lemonade stand one hundred yen even.

“She won’t make any profit that way! Sure, she’ll sell more cups, but she’ll never make as much as we do if we sell an even amount! What’s the point in sabotaging herself like this?!” Dia can’t understand what Mari’s motive is, and she only becomes more infuriated when the blonde looks directly at her from her stand across the way and winks.

“I’m not sure sis,” Ruby says with a sigh. “To be honest, I think Mari-san is having more fun egging you on than making lemonade sales.”

“Of course she is. That’s who she is.” Dia furrows her brow, thinking of any possible solutions to increase their lemonade sales. “Maybe there’s something we could offer to make our lemonade seem better.”

As she says that, You arrives with a few boxes in hand.

“Hey, we’ve brought some more supplies so the final batch of today’s lemonade is being made for you guys now.” She grins as she puts the boxes down and then opens it up. “We also got a lot of cookies from Chika’s siblings. They thought maybe we’d be able to get rid of a lot of them before they expired. Think you can sell these as well?”

She holds up a small package containing two cookies. Dia’s eyes sparkle. Ruby grows tense and You blinks, wondering if she may have done something wrong. Dia reaches out and grabs You by the shoulders, a large grin growing on her face.

“You-san, you’ve just saved my lemonade stand.”

Across the way, Mari watches as Dia and Ruby take their paint and begin to fix up the sign on their lemonade stand. She raises an eyebrow when she watches Ruby write “lemonade and cookies- 150 yen.” She can hear Dia instructing You to bring all the boxes of cookies over to their stand and she frowns.

“This is no joke.” She mumbles to herself, noticing someone approaching from her other side. “Kanan! Look! Dia’s added cookies to her menu! If I knew we could sell more than lemonade, I would have worked on a wider menu.” Kanan shakes her head with a chuckle.

“It doesn’t look like she’s selling the cookies, I’d say it’s more like she’s giving them away with the lemonade.” She puts a small stack of fliers down on the stand and stretches. “It’s not like it’ll do much now anyway, it’s getting late so we’ll probably have to continue tomorrow. How much lemonade did you sell?”

Mari opens up her small cash box and shows off the results to Kanan, who whistles.

“More than enough to win this, I think. With your advertising and my huge stand, there’s no way we’ve lost!” She beams and closes the box.

“Yeah? Think it’s enough to beat Dia’s last hurrah of customers?” Kanan points to the small line forming in front of Dia’s stand and Mari gasps.

Ruby nervously hands out cups of lemonade and cookies to everyone stopping by. Next to her Dia handles the cash, putting every coin into her cash box and thanking each customer with that lovely smile of hers. Mari’s gaping expression falters when Dia makes eye contact with her, giving her that triumphant smirk she always wears when she knows she’s taken the lead. Mari stares until Dia looks away from her and snorts.

“Ah,” she sighs, slumping a little and leaning against her stand. “Maybe there’s a chance I might lose.”

Kanan laughs once more.

“Is that really a problem though?” She asks in a teasing tone, watching as Mari’s gaze softens while she watches the Kurosawa siblings work. “You’ve always loved getting Dia fired up, haven’t you?”

“It’s true!” She giggles, smiling warmly towards Dia’s lemonade stand. “I really wouldn’t have it any other way either.”

In the end, Dia loses by a very small amount. Mari, in her excitement, announces she and Dia will merge their lemonade stands and as punishment she gets to advertise in a giant penguin costume she prepared in case she won (when Kanan asked how much it cost to make said suit, Mari gave no answer.)

My family's not big on celebrating parent days, but we do go out for dinners - my mom's bday is a couple days before, so we merge the two ;u;~ Thank you! I'll probably come back with a pile of photos, and be super picky which to instagram, haha. Oh! Good idea with the perfume! I normally don't carry any, but this sounds like a good reason to.

(2/?) Aw, you had to give up your internship? I’m sorry D: but on the bright side, vacation? Would you be able to do the internship another time? In terms of expensiveness, I think HK topped it for me. The livelihood there is super high end and overpriced to me :/ And ikr! I wish it were like that here too, but North America’s just too big and spread out for that unless you lived downtown, but that’s expensive D: In December, one Japan night was 24 degrees celsius ouo;; that’s pretty much summer

(3/?) But it does depend where you’re at in Japan! That night I was in Tokyo! It’ll be colder if you’re farther north~ I don’t know if the magikarp promo is still going D: but if it is, you definitely have to try it! I actually like the “crispy sandwich caramel” haagen dazs! I can’t get it where I’m from ;u; so depriveeeed. Your convenience stores sound so much better than mine! All mine have are dollar store things and candy OTL? Usually super grungy looking too. Aw, that’s cute! Do you visit?

(4/?) For the cat, not your sister (well, I guess her too), haha. I don’t remember, did you say you’d try to get a pet in the future for yourself, maybe? Yep! Certain holidays or popular events cause tickets to be more expensive to those countries during those times~ It’s still modern art?! Why isn’t there any traditional ones D:?! yeah, i’m excited for the vacation!! i won’t be able to do an internship until next summer then unfortunately. oooh, i heard kong kong is really nice! but i’ll make sure not to go there until i have money lmao. yeah, the only way walking is fine in north america is if i live in one of the big cities, like nyc. oh my god, in december??? it’s going to be even worse since i’m going in the summer D: i think overall it’s going to be very hot in japan because it’s summer when i’ll be there.

and yes!! i want to get a dog and a cat in the future! i suppose there are a few traditional art pieces on display? but i think most people here enjoy modernized art more, like even the buildings and such in the usa are much more modern compared to europe. i guess it’s because the usa hasn’t been a country for as long as european countries, so everything is newer looking. oooh nice!! interactive art is always fun! :D modern art is really beautiful too, but sometimes, i see something like the entire canvas is painted one color with only one stripe down it and i’m like ??? how is this worth 91283472319 dollars???

ooooh my god, the taylor swift concert marks the best night of my life, likE I LOVE HER SO MUCH I’VE BEEN A FAN SINCE 2006 AND I CAN’T BELIEVE I FINALLY GOT TO GO TO HER CONCERT!!!! but i got there two hours early for the lineup, and when it started, i sang along for every single song, and when she sang a mashup with long live included, i was over the moon, plus before the concert, i was like oh hey what if she sings the best day because it’s mother’s day tomorrow anD SHE ACTUALLY DID AND I CRIED OMG I GOT SO EMO i was shaking like i tried to get good videos on my phone, but my phone also died and the video will show you how shaky i actually was and wow i just– best experience, i will definitely go to her concerts over and over again and i just loved it so much. so yeah i was pretty excited and super happy overall :’) and how is your week going? 💗
