Smoking that Phtumerian tomb mold catacomb pack. This Old Blood laced nightmare cabbage will increase your beasthood, young blood. This marijuana is what got Loran ailing. This shit so premium you can only acquire it once per playthrough. This ganja unlocks the secret 4th ending.

Thinking about how the ailing Loran chalice drops random lore nobody discusses then hits you with the most insufficiently edited paragraph ever. "dreaded extrapolation". Just telling you the land is tragic because it barely shows up elsewhere. no notes

Bobby! For the bloodborne ask game :
2.Favorite chalice dungeon? 3.Favorite clothing set? 6.League or Vilebloods?
35.Do you like to do chalice dungeons? Why or why not?
2. I don't know... The Ailing Loran ones were pretty cool with the bridges in the giant ravine in the cliffside, but the bosses were kinda eh. It's honestly been over a year since I did all the dungeons... I'll have to come back to this later. Probably soon, since I plan to do the dungeons in my current playthrough so I can get extra echoes and maybe a lost or uncanny Chikage... maybe Churchpick too, if I decide to switch to it.
3. Good question... Gotta say the base hunter set is great. Right now for my current playthrough, I got Gascoigne's trousers, Henryk's gloves, Djura's shirt, and Hunter cap. I know when I did the chalice dungeons on my first playthrough I changed to a mix of the Yahar'gul hooded set and a few other things since it just felt fitting for the slog.
6. The League. I think the Chikage and Cainhurst set are cool, but I love Valtr's set (still working on getting the vermin for it....) and the Whirligig Saw is just a lot cooler to me than the Chikage, though I haven't used the Whirligig Saw myself... Plus, I like Valtr as a character a lot. I also prefer the coop mechanics over pvp, since I suck at pvp and I like helping other people.
35. They're pretty eh in my opinion. Can be really fun, but I hate the spider-summoning bell-ringing women. Just doesn't seem fair to put 3 of them in a room accessible through only a tight chokepoint. Defiled Amygdala also sucks. I'm actually fine with Defiled Watchdog, that was pretty fun. The enemies are actually pretty fun otherwise though. I don't like having to grind in them for materials for future chalices though, and sometimes the difficulty spikes extremely high. Uh. As of typing I pressed something on my keyboard and now the text is white and the box is black, like some sort of night mode. How did I do that? Anyway, I also did them all back to back in an extremely long marathon, which probably killed some of my enjoyment due to the repetition. I actually started enjoying it towards the end though.
#bloodborne#personal#soulsborne#asks#sorry for spewing a word vomit on ye#hah. Thanks for reading it however. It's fun to get out all my thoughts even if its not super organized

Bloodborne Walkthrough Chalice Dungeon Part 6 - Ailing Loran

Bloodborne, cont.
Making a new post because the old one was getting unwieldy.
Killed Rom, two tries. Flamer then skulls worked fine. I'm really blazing through my bullets though; good thing the lecture hall is such a good farming location.
Finally opened the Ailing Loran chalice and got a top-tier fire gem pretty much immediately. The bolt gem from Yahar'gul is better than what I can get here, though, so no need to grind further.
Next, back to lower Pthumeru for some better fire radials. Hoping for some less crappy curses.

Loran is a tragic land that was devoured by the sands. The tragedy that struck this ailing land of Loran is said to have its roots in the scourge of the beast. Some have made the dreaded extrapolation that Yharnam may be next.
There are trace remains of medical procedures in parts of ailing Loran. Whether these were attempts to control the scourge of the beast, or the cause of the outbreak, is unknown.

tfw u see the fourth Amygdala you’ve encountered in the chalice dungeons:

#delete later#bloodborne#im not mad like ‘wow this is so difficult’#im mad because i KNOW there’s a lot of cool bosses and this game really be like#‘only Amygdala and Abhorrent Beasts for u :)’#I haven’t seen a Watchdog of the Old Lords in like at least half a dozen chalices now :’(#anyway im VERY good at fighting these guys now lmaoooo#one wiki said ‘stand still when it jumps’ AND THAT’S A LIE#dodge backwards and diagonally - i’ve literally never been hit once i started doing that shshejdjdd#anyway im not *really* complaining - im still getting good stuff for beating them and im more in it for runes anyway lmao#but the wikis are completely useless for boss lists#i keep going into Ailing Loran or Lower Loran and encountering Pthumerians and Amygdala as bosses and im like ahsjndnd#so ive stopped using it as reference and just prepare for the worst lolol#speaking of the worst if u read this far: did u know Beast-Possessed Souls can climb ladders?#found that out yesterday and was NOT expecting that#I made it fight a brainsucker tho and after a LOT of wasted time making it work... it killed it in two hits#v satisfying

YOU HUNTED is a work in progress 20k word bloodborne plot and lore explainer intended for both soulsborne veterans and anyone new to the series. i hope it makes you laugh
9/21- when it's all over and done with i'll give it one last edit but for now i'm calling this first half DONE. you can now read about yharnam history up until the point where the hunter arrives on the scene.
if you enjoyed this, consider throwing a little cash my way. i’m embarrassed at how much time and effort i put into this and while it's a labor of love, i'm not back to making money until next month and i'm scraping by on fumes. but only donate if you liked my work! im gonna be fine, it would just like more cushioning for the next week.

Where do you think that the scourge of the beasts came from in Bloodborne? I was always under the impression that it was a consequence of Laurence's use of the Old Blood (which I thought was the blood of Ebrietas).
Laurence’s actions sure brought the Scourge to Yharnam but other lands fell to it in the past. Loran is one of those:
Loran is a tragic land that was devoured by the sands. The tragedy that struck this ailing land of Loran is said to have its roots in the scourge of the beast. Some have made the dreaded extrapolation that Yharnam may be next.[Ailing Loran Chalice]
We also know that the ‘beast’ that the Old Blood brings to the surface is something already present in every human:
The indescribable sound is broadcast with the caster’s own vocal cords, which begs the question, what terrible things lurk deep within the frames of men? [Beast Roar]
and
As flesh is flayed and blood is sprayed, the beast within awakens, and in time, the wielder of this weapon surges with both strength and feverish reverie.[Beast Claw]
Long story short, the Scourge is very old and not limited to Yharnam and its surroundings. (The League, whose members are mostly foreigners, came to the city because they were pursuing a beast: “Once upon a time a troupe of foreign constables chased a beast all the way to Yahrnam.”) and it is surely caused by the use of the Old Blood but at the same time the Blood only awakens something that is already there.
“We are born of the Blood, made men by the Blood, undone by the Blood!
;)
