“Hedy Lamarr has more glamour than anyone in Hollywood. Her jet black hair and fine light complexion, marvelously contrasting, requires no faking soft diffusion lens. But, like all glamour ladies, she must be aided by the cameraman. First of all, I took attention away from her lack of full breasts by playing up her eyes and lips. With a bright light I created a shadow to make you forget her weak chin. Then, I really went to town! I planted an arc on a level with her eyes, shadowing her forehead and blending it and her hair into a dark background. Now, all attention was focused on her eyes. Remember her first meeting with Boyer in Algiers? Her eyes got away with lines that would never have passed Mr. Hays."

Las Vegas/Beverly Hills developer Ted Griss owned the land south of El Rancho Vegas and north of what became Circus Circus Drive. His shopping center designed by Paul R. Williams Associates was first announced in '53. It was built and opened some seven years later. Ben O. Davey, contractor.

Hob Nob restaurant was located in the shopping center, with Tommy B pub, liquor store, and slots casino licensed to Anthony Benetti. The "Shopping and Office Center" also contained residential apartment units on the second level. Shell service station operated next to the shopping center.

Nevada Square and the Shell were demolished in 2006. A subsidiary of MGM Resorts owned the land in 2007. Phil Ruffin bought the property in 2019 along with Circus Circus and Las Vegas Festival Grounds.

Circa '73 – Nevada Square, Shell, and Bank of Nevada. The bank is the former KENO-AM station. Behind the bank is a warehouse used in the VEGA$ television series as the home of Dan Tanna.
