jaykyle au where they're theatre kids in the same school but they're not the actors jason's the scriptwriter/director and kyle is the prop manager (i don't know the official terms sorry) and they'd probably do an amazing job on the backstage setting if they could stop arguing for 5 whole seconds about their artistic visions and ideas and how "this would obviously work better this way"

literally the easiest way to make someone care about a character and make them feel well-rounded beyond basic traits like personality, sexuality, ethnicity, etc, is to give them an actual character arc, and it’s shocking how many people do not seem to fully realize this

you cannot just cram a bunch of tropes. tropes are not the main event, they are tools to tell the story you wish to tell. emotional impact comes from the lead up, so you can’t just jump ahead and expect the payoff to work. “I want this character to just ___ already!” but they’re not there yet. that’s where the arc comes in - how do they get there?

and! most importantly, and this is something I really want people to think about when writing - the most important relationship your character should have, always, is with the world and society around them. defining your character purely through their interactions with other characters are, I find, how a lot of female characters end up feeling flat or not engaging with the themes as much as the male characters, and also how queer and non-white characters wind up as devices for other characters’ development instead of being more fleshed out

Repeated issue at social functions of ppl asking me what my hand tattoos say and me being profoundly unwilling to share with the class. Not that i feel i made a bad choice, but i did not expect Most Ppl to interrogate past me saying they’re encrypted Sleep Token lyrics. And now i find myself frequently in the position of being asked specifically what they say and being unable to articulate the depth i associate with each phrase in the time frame i have available. I need to get better at lying.

If you wanna log in to participate in a event that fine, I get for some CC's purgatory 2 isn't lore (I mean it clearly is, but some players are choosing not to involve it in their lore.) But when you've made the discussion not to take part in the lore you can't ask about it on screen.

I literally got confused when someone told me bad had a reason and to check there lastest reblog, thinking the book gave them the reason and apologising, this fully left me thinking that the residents where told to return home until I was discussing with someone else and realized I fully misread that (I need to wear my glasses more TBh)

But this play apart of the problem because what I except was a lore reason and I went looking for it, just to find out later there is no lore reason bad just calls himself vactionbadboy halo when he wants to log in.

Look I get playing purgatory for fun, I get wanting to log in to see your friends, Tubbo did it, and Pac did it; but the difference with them being they made up a reason to be there (the boat didn't leave) is a completely valid reason.

I can see them going home and then later being drag back to the boat by the incompetent egg Island workers, but jumping back and forth to the island in the middle of purgatory is problematic.

If you don't want to take part in the lore then don't, don't ask questions about what's happening lore wise (on stream he can always inquire in dms ) , don't do things on the Island that messes with other people's lore or breaks the immersion make it easy for the actual people who care about the lore; Ie: fan fiction writers, artists, role players (I am all these things) to pretend you're not there!

This sounds dumb but I genuinely, when lore is happening take note of every little the to go "how can I explain this in lore, how could I enhance this in lore" to help with my fan art or fan works.

Genuinely I have a list of game mechanics,(chat, tabs list, death messages) and have written ways to explain them in lore, so you can imagine my annoyance when someone who isn't supposed to be involved ask questions fresh of a lore event.

I think the confusion to add to it is that Phil has been trying to do more improv on the spot right now rp; like leaving cuucurhoo the notice of the eye guy and keeping his webcam on until a big event ( and I love him for that, genuinely I love lore so much because it feeds art and fan fiction)

But I feel like im being taken a fool when someone who isn't technically supposed to be there asks questions about something they're not supposed to be awear of and even bounces of it like they're in lore "yeah it looks like we're going to war with you guys." we who? You're supposed to be Vacation halo, you aren't in purgatory right, if so how did you get home?!

Get what I'm saying? It sucks because everyone else so far seemed to-do A decent job of staying out of lore if they want to visit some committing to not coming back to the island at all (cough* bolas *cough ) .

If you don't wanna take part in the lore don't complicate the already existing lore, it annoynes me greatly.

I don't mind the attenting events so much, it's the fail rping of discussing something you shouldn't know not long after it happened. (Metagaming)

(sorry for leaving y’all in suspense I was grocery shopping) Surprise!! I accidentally got into Len’en like two weeks ago. Whoops! I got ideas for cool drawings to do with each of the BPoHC shrine team members (and you-know-who, ofc, but that one might be… weird lol), but Tsubakura gets to go first cause theirs is the simplest; just greyscale + red color scheme with a split background and the pose is mostly random (maybe they’re squishing Tsurubami’s little eye thing? Idk). Very pleased with how everything worked out; the line for the eye is exactly where the dividing line for the background was and the way I managed to make the vest corseted while not changing the ribbon placement is just perfect. Although I did make their hat smaller out of the aforementioned cowardice also that thing is hard to draw

Was originally gonna draw a biblically (canonically) accurate outfit, but then I was upset at the lack of contrast to see his clothes properly and it all spiralled down from there – so have him with a bit of a lightning motif and more silver

Here is my review of Vegas:

Sphere: ✅ round. ❌ Didn’t go inside though because you have to pay $100

Omega Mart: ✅✅✅✅ awesome. ✅ Really really good. ✅ I love Meow Wolf so much it’s unreal ✅ it was a lot bigger than the other 3 I’ve been to. I didn’t even get to look at everything. ✅ did I mention how much I love Meow Wolf

Casinos: ❌ loud. ❌ too many screens and flashing lights. ❌ crowded. ❌ smell bad because smoking inside is allowed. ❌ I didn’t gamble anyways

Food: ✅ tasty. ✅ staff were very cool and accommodating about my allergies. ❌ But you have to walk through casinos to get to a lot of the restaurants

Pinball museum: ✅ actually way cooler than I thought it would be. ✅ they have loads of old pinball machines and arcade games and you can play most of them. ✅ I got to play DDR for the first time. ✅✅✅ they had a Computer Space machine and I freaked out when I saw it. It was out of order but still it was just so amazing to see in person

hi!! it honestly made me so happy to see this in my inbox - though we are strangers i do know you as the cool person i see on here who likes rush/alex lifeson a lot (same) and plays guitar (which is awesome - you're learning Natural Science?? wonderful) - i love to gush about music/playing music and feel free to dm or reply however with what songs you like to play, if you so choose

i used to take piano lessons but am a casual player now - i sight-read and jump around between a lot of stuff often (because there's so much good music out there) so some stuff i can play from memory, some with sheet music, some i'd have to refresh to play somewhat well - i like to sing along sometimes too

i can play piano much better than guitar, but for guitar i have an acoustic which i like to play on sometimes (some of these i have also played on piano)

i can play Still... You Turn Me On by ELP by heart (love that one), also by ELP: From The Beginning, and i was trying to learn The Sage, bits of Natural Science by Rush (as you heard), bits of Cygnus X-1: Book One: The Voyage, Broon's Bane <3, The Sphere A Kind of Dream (love that one, so comforting to play), Closer to the Heart, the beginning of A Farewell to Kings, the acoustic/chords parts of The Trees, some King Crimson (only easy stuff) like In The Court of the Crimson King and Peace, Lucifer Sam and other songs by Pink Floyd, and more! sometimes i like picking out stuff by ear on it despite my severe lack of guitar understanding lol

for piano i have an electric one (bc real piano expensive - also i wish i knew someone who had a hammond organ so i could go play on it *sigh*) and like playing anything and everything i like music-wise - i'll just list some stuff here

a bit of Rush, i think i worked out the beginning of Subdivisions on the piano, i think i also figured out part of Ghost Of A Chance and really liked the way it sounded, Natural Science sounds cool on it - i can see myself trying to play more Rush in the future (what translates well to piano)

ELP stuff (which is really hard sometimes, but surprisingly fun and improved my sight-reading and playing - i like playing Tarkus, Karn Evil 9, Trilogy, most of their music (i can't play them all the way through fluently, not without practicing them a lot more)

anything by Transatlantic, which i've had to figure out most of their stuff by ear since there is no sheet music for all but one album (Kaleidoscope, which i have the book for and like to play), which has been fun and improved my ability to learn by ear - i made an entire guide (a mix of sheet music and chord names) for the album The Whirlwind which i like playing)

anything by Queen (or Smile, their predecessor band) probably the first band i started playing music of

ELO (Concerto For A Rainy Day, Fire On High, etc.) - Pink Floyd (Nobody Home is lovely to play, Great Gig in the Sky of course, the end of Saucerful of Secrets, Echoes, etc.) - Yes (Heart Of The Sunrise, Awaken, Survival, bits of The Gates Of Delirium, To Be Over, etc.) - this brief beautiful piano part 2:55 into The Warning by Rick Wakeman, also all of his Journey To The Centre of the Earth and King Arthur albums - some stuff Murray Gold composed for Doctor Who - In Held 'Twas In I by Procol Harum - The Stranger by Billy Joel has nice piano - the Romantic Era pianist/composer Sergei Rachmaninov (though his pieces are probably the hardest of everything here, but so beautiful, i did fully learn his Prelude in B minor years ago - i have a book of his piano concertos i like to look through and play bits of from time to time - so difficult though) - video game soundtracks like Hollow Knight, Celeste, Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian, and Nier Automata - i have a feeling i'll try to learn some (more) Kaipa/Roine Stolt solo/The Flower Kings stuff cause they have me in a chokehold rn - and the album Days of Future Passed by The Moody Blues has no sheet music i could find :( but i could learn it by ear - basically anything except songs that don't translate well to piano or are too hard for me on guitar (or require an electric cause i don't have one and am not enough of a guitarist to want to invest in one - love listening to them though!)
