so obviously mike’s fave pokémon is oshawott bc i think he’s very nostalgic about his First Partner Pokémon and although he love all pokémon nothing can beat oshawott. i’ve said at least part of this before but i def think for acswy specifically, gen v (black/white) was mike’s first gen hence why oshawott is his fave, and for will his first gen was gen vi (x/y) — this is what makes to me sense based on when these games came out/when mike and will respectively would be able to access them!! so while will’s first starter was chespin (and he actually loves all of chespin’s evolutions which is why he is better than me) and i do think that there is emotional attachment there i think there are others that he really really likes and always tries to use if they’re available to him!! this also means most of my picks for will’s faves are gen vi and later but it goes without saying he also loves All pokémon. duh.

i think one of his absolute faves is dragalge mostly bc it fucking looks cool and i do think will would love a dragon type as a whimsical fantasy lover 😌 dragalge for everyone’s reference:

i think some of his other faves would be rockruff (bc will byers loves a puppy pokémon and i will die on that hill, not that i need to bc i am right), hatterene and mismagius (the wizardy vibes of it all), armarouge (knight in shining armor 😳), and milotic (i know i just said post gen vi for the most part but milotic transcends generations. bitch.)

(for Monday ask) how would Inari handle a alpha pokemon version of matcha

Inari would love them all the same, of course! Though I think it would be funny if Matcha started off the same size and just slowly got bigger and bigger. Until they dwarfed Inari!

Alpha Pokémon aren’t super consistent in size based on their species default. Which poses a problem when trying to estimate a hybrid alpha’s height. Alpha Eevee are 0.81m (2’8”), while a Pokémon that is also 0.3m at a default, Roselia, has an alpha that is a whopping 1.35m (4’5”)!

Which means I kinda have to figure it out on my own. So I figure a nice, even 1m (3’3”) sounded good! Here’s a picture for scale:

Alpha Matcha is almost as tall as Sylveon Inari (taller considering their ears)! And that’s not talking about if they evolve.

"I think it's perfect", Minnow (Kyogre) said. "Just like you", she added, nuzzling her mate.

"R-really?" Digger stuttered.

"Yes", Minnow said. "You didn't notice?"

"So you're preparing this story to tell to your future kits?" Zephyr asked.

"What-NO, just to anyone who doesn't know", Digger said.

"Then why does it sound like a bedtime story?" Amethyst asked.

"It-it DOSEN'T", Digger insisted.

"Well, I'm leaving before you try telling me another bedtime story", Zephyr said. Amethyst stood up to follow them.

"Can I come with you?" Cobalt (Mew) asked.

"Uhhh, I'd really rather you not", Amethyst said.

'Please?' Cobalt begged.

"No", Amethyst said, more firmly.

The Mew asked about five more times before Amethyst finally snapped.

"Why don't you just leave me alone for once?!" Amethyst snarled.

Cobalt shrunk back.

"I'm sorry! I didn't realize I was annoying you!" Cobalt whimpered.

Amethyst doubted this, given the fact that this exact situation had happened at least five times, but Digger had clearly fallen for the Mew's act.

"Leave her alone, Amethyst", Digger said.

Amethyst growled, turning to leave. As she did, she glanced back for a second, her eyes glowing softly.

A pinecone fell onto Digger's head. "Ow!" The Groudon yelped.

Maybe this has been asked before but how does the face rig on Jeanne d'arc work?

ok basically the eyes are a separate texture laid on top of a blank face (which is further separated into the lashes, whites, and pupils for both the left and right eye). Each has 3 different positions: open, half-open, and closed, which are added as an image sequence. You then add a driver to that to let the position of a bone determine which frame of the sequence is visible. For the pupils, there's also a driver but this time it controls the position and scale of the texture coordinates.

Sounds a bit complicated, but it's a lot simpler than it seems. I used this tutorial to make it. REALLY IMPORTANT THOUGH, if you use that tutorial and you're using EEVEE rather than cycles, it might start seriously freaking out and displaying the eyes completely wrong. I still don't know why that happens, but the one fix I found was, in the image texture inputs, change the alpha mode from "straight" to "premultiplied".

anyway the eyebrows are just controlled with physical deformation of the mesh, i can't really explain what the armature is doing there because i kinda just threw some shit at the wall until it did what i wanted. prob a pretty simple way to do it i just didn't find it

How to apply textures in Blender 4.0 For newbies (´｡• ᵕ •｡) ♡

So you imported your lovely doll into Blender 4.0, but the textures are messed or missing, here's how to apply base simple textures from the scratch!

I'm using Blender 4.0.2 (Sorry 4.3, but your EEVEE is currently nothing but tears for me) and my lovely Aidan is here to assist me. SO! Seat your bum comfortable and let's begin!

1 - Split your working space by pulling the corner of the screen:

2 - Then click on Material with your mesh selected.

3 - Pick Shader Editor on the left part of the screen and hit New in the Material on the right. You'll get something like this:

4 - On the left choose Add - Texture - Image Texture. We need three of them at very least :D

5 - First Image texture: Connect Color to the Base Color and Alpha to Alpha. Second Image texture connect to Specular IOR Level. Don't forget to upload your textures! Color - is well... color pics. Specular looks like Black/White pics and Normal is purple!

6 - Now add Normal Map. And connect it like on the picture below:

7 - Specular and Normal maps should be NON - COLOR in the Image Texture - Color Space

8 - Turn on the alpha. In Material - Settings - Blend Mode/Shadow Mode change on Alpha Hashed + You can check Backface Culling. In some cases it's vital :D

9 - Change the Specular settings in case of weird shining by changing IOR and Roughness parameters.

10 - You did it! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ:･ﾟ✧

other half of this post! RB's "backup" team, all of whom she freely switches between when necessary. it keeps her extremely busy caring for all twelve, especially when she can't take them out all at once, but she can't bear to give them up. of all the Pokémon she's caught and trained for research, it's these she'd like to keep

JJ, her most specialist little boy in the world. she found him as an Eevee in a distortion and he nearly threw himself into a Pokéball just to escape the storm. he's whip-smart and full of energy, and RB sometimes can only barely keep up with his drive to work. but that never stops him from wanting cuddles!

Gumby, dumb as a post but utterly invaluable. RB likes to call him her slug that can defy god, for surely no creature this brainless should exist. for an Alpha, he's very amiable, mostly because all he wants in life is to eat sand. it can be a challenge training and caring for him when she doesn't have much experience with invertebrates, but as long as he can munch on dirt, he's happy

Teletraan, her iPad baby. this thing can and will burn down a village if bored, so it's a good thing RB has bought a bunch of time-displaced appliances for it to play in. she's rather fond of the utility of having a fridge, and also a little sad. what's it like to be a creature uniquely suited to living in circuitry, born centuries before the advent of a habitat it was practically made for?

Miss Monster, her tank. after stumbling upon her in the middle of the Avalugg fiasco, RB knew this beast would be an incredible specimen to study. immediately being exiled kind of put a damper on that, but the huge Alpha adjusted surprisingly well to being part of a team. she's certainly the most powerful, and carries herself with a confidence even haughty Niner can't match

Dopey, not only the most pathetic Alpha, not only the most pathetic Dragon-type, but just the most pathetic animal RB has ever encountered in general. even when he attacked her on sight as a wild Sliggoo, she was cooing at him for being a sad little critter. now that he's grown, he's much more capable of being an intimidating fighter, but would honestly rather curl up in his shell and cower behind RB

Milkshake, her ethereal overseer. he accompanied her quite often as a Vulpix when she explored the Icelands, and after the sky went red he decided to follow her forever. RB's pretty sure he thinks of himself as her minder, watching over her physical and emotional wellbeing with the uncanny perception of a fae creature. he loves to dog her heels until she surrenders to cuddles, hops around to dance with him, or finds a human to talk about her troubles
