Aftercare Headcanons
Characters included: Hwei, Jinx, Kayn, Viktor, Yone x GN!Reader
Author's notes: I hope you enjoy this and forgive me any mistakes! Let me know if you have any requests about this fandom.
Picture: https://br.pinterest.com/pin/8585055533861864/

Hwei
He can get clingy after sex, mainly because he feels extremely safe by your side.
He will usually make sure that everything is okay with you, if you felt respected and satisfied with the way he made you feel and especially if you are in need of something specific.
After sex, he will always treat you as if you were the most fragile and most lovable person in the world.
Compliments and declarations of love are his strong point. Hwei will murmur words of reassurance and express what he feels for you almost as if he were reciting poetry.
"Whenever I'm alone with you… You make me feel like I'm whole again." He kissed your lips slowly before climbing back on top of you, straddling your lap, and looking at you with eyes full of love and desire. "I can't get enough of you… Let me keep loving you."
"Touch me, yeah." You guided his hand to your chest. "Make me feel like I'm alive again."
Jinx
Usually Jinx will openly proclaim how essential you are for her to feel grounded in such a chaotic and cruel world.
Regardless of how hectic, overwhelming and overstimulating your sex was, she makes sure you know that just being by your side after such an intimate moment is just as good, if not infinitely better than loving you all night.
She will reassure you as she worships your body, compliments how beautiful you are and talks about how your expressions and bodily reactions are extremely precious to her.
"Remember when we first met as kids?" Her voice was a mere whisper.
"Yeah, I do. I'll always remember that day." You pulled her for a delicate kiss yet still trying to get as much as you could of her before parting for air.
"That night… You ran into my heart so carelessly, so abruptly… And…" You encouraged her to continue by caressing her cheek with affection. "And fuck… I'm glad I was wondering those streets at dawn for I met you and now I can't imagine a future where we don't belong together."
Kayn
It's not uncommon for you to feel overstimulated after having sex with Kayn. He's a passionate lover, his touches are almost desperate, his kisses are needy and fervent and he's not at all ashamed to admit that he loves to break you whenever the mood allows.
That said, the aftercare he usually provides you is to try to meet your needs as best he can.
He always cleans you with soft towels while you regain enough energy to get up and take a shower. He'll usually bring you water or some other drink of your choice or even something for you to eat, if that's what you want.
Some of the comments about the marks he's capable of leaving on your body are made to tease you, because he knows you get embarrassed. And if there's anything as good as having you under him, completely under his control, it's seeing the way you behave when you're embarrassed.
"You're mine." He whispered against your neck before returning to suck it, finishing the last mark of the night.
"Kayn… This is going to be hard to hide."
"That's the point." He fell beside you, pulling your body against his. "Do you want me to make you a hot chocolate in a little while?"
"You're trying to distract me from the fact that you marked me in every way possible today."
"Maybe, but… A hot chocolate would be nice right now, wouldn't it?" He kissed your shoulder before chuckling softly.
Viktor
Already posted this as an alone work, but wanted to add here as well.
He's the kind of guy who cares about your well-being before, during, and after you have sex.
It's not uncommon for him to stay with your body cuddled against his while your heavy breathing and overstimulation slowly fade away.
Cuddles, words of reassurance, slow and affectionate kisses, massages wherever you may be sore and a relaxing bath together after sex are essential for him to show you how absurdly perfect and important you are to him.
One of the greatest proofs of love that Viktor can show you is to sleep next to you (always after you, due to his protective instinct) and stay by your side all night, making sure to still be with you when you wake up, even if he has countless responsibilities and unfinished projects.
"Good morning, sleepyhead."
"Good morning, Vitya." His fingers stroked your hair as you wiped the sleep from your eyes.
"Thank you for yesterday. You were absolutely perfect." A certain embarrassment took over you at the compliment, making you hide your face against his neck, inhaling that welcoming scent.
"Maybe I'll have to drag you out of your lab more often." You murmured.
Yone
He cares about you a lot, that's the essence of him as your partner. You always come first and even though you insist that he deserves to let himself be vulnerable and be taken care of by you, Yone prefers to provide you with everything you need before thinking about himself.
He carefully checks to see if he left any marks on you that might be sore later, apologizing as he gently kisses the marked spots.
Usually you stay silent after sex, just enjoying each other's company and warmth.
Every single time Yone caresses your hair until you relax enough to sleep and occasionally murmurs an "I love you" when he thinks you've already fallen asleep.
"I love you so much." He murmured against your hair.
"I love you so much too, Yone." You whispered back, snuggling even closer against his chest.
"I thought you were asleep."
"I want to enjoy this moment with you a little longer. It's been so long since…" Your voice voice went quiet.
"Yes, I know." His hand rested on your thigh, caressing it. "But I'm here now and I'll never leave your side again."

This is less of a Deep Cut and more of a case of schadenfreude, but I love when various members of a creative team are messy in public about their high budget group project. Reality TV for nerds. It speaks to a profound lack of media training or fucks given. You guys realize that future employers can Google you, right? Unintentionally hilarious.
Linke and Yee were told in no uncertain terms that their season 1 storyboard was shit, so they hired Overton, who hired half a dozen actual writers, and they did basically a full overhaul. The script was objectively much better. But this was Linke's baby, and several years later you still see signs that he is Big Mad that he didn't get his way, and that he doesn't know or care about what actually became season 1 canon. I'm sorry that your Jewish stereotype villain didn't get to be a pedophile, I guess? Idk. Yes, yes, I am sure your version of Svengali is really innovative. Maybe someday, buddy.
Meanwhile they start writing season 2 in early 2020, while the season 1 air date isn't until November of 2021. So, they don't have public feedback on the script yet, just, yanno, actual writing professionals. Anyway, according to Overton, they needed to fire the non-management part of the writing team because of the pandemic?! Lmao babygirl you do your best and I respect commitment to the official PR excuse but nobody sensible believes this. Netflix writers average 110k/year, and you needed six or so from season 1. That is not a big part of the overall budget. Also, y'all could have saved money with Zoom meetings.
So the very thing that saved the season 1 script got line-itemed "because of the pandemic". That sounds like an extremely convenient excuse for Linke to be like, no, fuck you all, we are going back to Plan A, the rough draft of season 2 based on his shitty version of season 1. Honey. That ship has sailed. You already lost this argument.
So presumably some combination of Linke/Yee/Riot/Netflix was like, it's important that we have at least one actual grown adult writer on staff. So Overton gets to keep her job.
Now, I want to preface this by saying that season 2 would have been even worse without Overton. That being said, there is a reason they needed a deeper bench of writing staff. Overton and Linke over-connect with the characters Caitlyn and Jayce respectively, to a degree that they frequently forgot to evaluate how other characters would likely behave in certain situations. It led to contrivances, plot holes, etc. There is a lot I could add here but tbh go read any of the meta already out there.
In addition to the Mary Sue type behavior, Overton thought it would be Neat to make the writing more like Avengers, like multiverse time travel fuckery is a shiny beach pebble and not narrative napalm. What in the ADHD was she thinking? Even if they had the run time to world build enough for this, there was nothing in season 1 to even suggest this as an option. And let's be fucking honest, multiverse a lot of why Marvel is on a downward spiral. If Viktor can go to Build-A-Bear Workshop and 3-D print a million Jayces, why should I give a shit about his kill count? He can just be kind, rewind, and try again. Actions are decoupled from consequences.
Anyway, moving back to the topic at hand of the Arcane team. Apparently, Overton, Linke and Yee only half-wrote season 2?! Linke said something about how they "extensively collaborated with Fortiche on the story"? Which, it's not inherently a bad idea to get creative feedback from your art team, but ummm, maybe the writers and Fortiche should have worked to a point of agreement on basic story beats. Based on a lot of what Fortiche has said, the art for season 2 passive aggressively advances what they wanted the writing to be against Linke's wishes. They literally have just been straight up disagreeing with Linke and getting paid for it. Which, to be fair, I respect the sheer pettiness! Linke can't write his own damn show but wants to slow down the very expensive art team? When the actual writers that got fired "because of the pandemic" would have caught a lot of the season 2 issues?
So post airing of season 2, Overton is all about that girlboss copaganda, Linke is having multiple public meltdowns and getting fired by Riot(?), and multiple voice actors and artists at Fortiche are being like "yeah, we actually wanted something else so there are now multiple competing narratives for season 2". Which is hilarious. The way in which the show is messy is the same way in which the creators are messy. These bitches are a cautionary tale about hubris and the need to engage in team-building.
(EDIT MARCH 11: the fired rumors seem to be old/inaccurate, see comments for details)

Asymmetrical Symphony - Part 3
Universe: Arcane (LOL)
Pairing: Viktor x reader
Summary: You had been on the rooftop with Jayce and the Herald and somehow you were sent to a place where things can be different with your help
Disclaimers and Warnings: If you want me to tag you on the chapters let me know! Also leave a comment with your thoughts :D Not finished, not proofread. English isn't my 1st language. All I know about LOL is from google and all I know about Arcane is taken from the show, so inacuracies will be plenty. I have a sort of idea on how to I'm gonna go with magic and runes, so bear with me. The reader will be written and GN (going by they/them) to get everyone involved, but if you see any discrepancies let me know.
A.N.: You are all too kind. This is probably one of the few parts that will be made from Vik's POV. Here is the plan. Part 4 will have some interaction / Part 5: house cleaning / Part 6: onwards and upwards. Should I tag this as a slowburn?
Part 1 • Part 2
• ··········· • ············ •
Viktor didn’t believe in luck.
If he had done so, all his accomplishments could have been derived from it. So he didn’t believe in it much. Sure, maybe finding some coins on the floor was luck, but not much more than that.
Everything he did and does is to make sure nothing is left to luck—every number on the blackboard, every calculation on his blueprints.
But now, standing in the middle of the destroyed council room, Viktor felt lucky. Extremely lucky.
Some workers were trying to clean the room as best as they could, but the full reconstruction wasn’t going to be quick. He tried to stay out of their way as he walked towards where he sat when the rocket hit.
He stood silently observing the broken remnants of the chair he sat on that night. What remained of it couldn’t even keep the smallest of fires alight.
His tired gaze turned to where he had landed after the stranger had tackled him.
A mountain of rubble was strewn about everywhere at his feet, but it was somehow less destroyed when compared to the rest of the room. The stone councilors' chairs were mostly destroyed, but the one Mel sat on seemed to have mostly remained intact. The table was split into several heavy pieces, but the one near them had somehow suffered less, only having cracks where it seemingly separated from the rest of the table.
Viktor stood next to the crack, his cane in front of him. And he swayed left and right.
“Lucky” Sway to the left: “Unlucky”
He stayed like this for a couple of seconds, the motion almost making him think better until he saw something shining as a cleaner swept the dust near his feet.
“Stop.” He ordered suddenly and looked at the small amount of dust the other man had cleaned.
With his cane, he searched the dust until a golden chain shimmered in the light. He dragged the cane and pulled the chain with it.
“This yours, sir?” The cleaner asked, and Viktor took a second to reply. “No, but it could be Councillor Medarda’s. Would you be so kind as to pick it up for me, please?”
The other man nodded and bent down. As he pulled the broken chain, a small locket slid from it. The cleaner huffed at having to bend down again, but he did so, giving Viktor the locket.
“Thank you, sir.” The scientist nodded absently, his mind already focused on another thing.
He leaned his back against the table, letting the cane rest next to his leg. If his calculations were correct, which they were, he was standing next to where both he and the stranger fell.
“Is this yours?” He asked no one, turning the small piece of jewelry in hand.
It was a simple, small, and delicate thing. Engraved on both covers was a mirrored R, with some flourished lines around it and a rose in the middle of the letter. It had a small lip on the side where he could open it. Ever the curious person, Viktor opened the locket. A picture of a woman was inside.
He frowned. It was a faded, sepia-toned photo of a smiling woman. A familiar-looking smiling woman.
He closed the locket as quickly as he could and went to his lab. He yanked the door open and stuck his head inside, making Jayce’s head snap to him. By the expression on the tanner man’s face, he immediately regretted it.
“Aaahh… by the gods, Viktor… my neck…” “I told you to keep wearing the brace...Jayce. You've chosen to ignore me.” He paused a moment until Jayce looked at him expectantly. “Right. Do you know if Caitlyn has already spoken with the stranger?”
“Why?” Jayce’s eyes became slits as he tried to understand his friend's line of questioning.
“No matter. Just wanted to know their name.”
“Why?” Jayce fully turned on the wheelie bench.
“Because. Academic curiosity. They should be running out of the building targeted by the rocket...not running in...”
Jayce sighed, knowing full well that man was going to go around all of Piltover trying to find that person. He rested his elbow on the table and his cheek in his hand.
“I haven't talked to Caitlyn since…” he cleared his throat. “But! Mel told me the enforcers had cuffed them to a bed and shipped them off to the hospital.”
Viktor nodded, content with the information. He moved to leave, but his head bobbed back inside the lab.
“Skyward?” He asked, and Jayce’s snort was enough of an answer. ..
He got out of the taxi trolley and looked at the bright white building displeased. He just needed to confirm where the stranger was to then set his plan in motion.
He limped towards the receptionist and cleared his throat.
“I would like to know any information about the person that was accompanied here by the enforcers from the attack.” He tried to sound professional and solemn. “I’m not allowed to divulge information on patients, let alone on patients that are under the enforcers' care.” The blonde woman looked up at him lazily. “Anything else?” “Eh... Yes... no... well...” Viktor looked around. No enforcers in sight. “I have something that might belong to them.” “Leave it here or give it to an enforcer. I’m sure someone will find them for you and give them back their…thing.” “I was hoping you could help me find them. You see, I am a...friend." He lied like it was second nature, but when she looked back at him, he knew she didn’t buy it. “Sure you are. If you excuse me, people are waiting in line.” She looked around him and motioned her hand to call an old lady from behind him, shutting down any path to a conversation.
Her loss, Viktor thought; he was about to offer her money for the info.
“Thank you for your help.” He tried to bite back the snark, but he felt it drip like oil, tinging his words black.
He turned around, limping and grumbling towards the exit.
“Hey, Hextech man, wait.” Viktor turned towards the call, to find a nurse jogging towards him from the reception. He had noticed her leaning into the desk as he had arrived but ignored her. Nurses were normal in the hospital. “Yes?” “They’ve already been taken to the headquarters.” She whispered and shrugged when his eyebrows raised. “I heard you asking Lilah about the ‘patient with the enforcers’ and since we don’t usually get many of those, I knew who you were talking about.” “How long ago was it?” He asked, and she shrugged again. “About 5, 10 minutes ago.” He straightened up as best as he could and nodded, turning on his heels and walking quickly to the door. He still heard her say something about ‘being good with the accent.’.
--
He turned the locket in his hand as he sat in the comfiest armchair in all of Piltover while looking down at a rousing Piltover.
This was his favorite part of the lavish penthouse. He was never a jealous person when it came to material things; he always learned to get by with next to nothing, and he prided himself on that. But this living room? This would forever make him green with envy.
It was spacious, wide, tall, and bright. The walls were lined with bookshelves that reached the high ceiling. It was filled with books, music records, pictures, awards, and some clutter that made the space feel lived in. The higher shelves had books that could only be reached by a little golden ladder that swiveled left and right.
In a corner stood a dusty black grand piano. It was closed and mostly used as a table with more books and knick-knacks on top. And next to it, encased in the bookshelf, a three-tier record player.
In the middle of the room was a couch, with wooden frames and green stuffing, with a yellow blanket neatly folded in the corner and two pillows. Beside it, facing each other, are two loveseats of similar color and design.
A long white wood coffee table was perfectly placed in the center of the seats right in front of what Viktor loved the most in this room.
The floor-to-ceiling windows, protruding out from the square room, ended in a dome glass ceiling. A mix of a conservatory and a closed veranda. It filled the whole room with the morning sun.
The floor near it was lined with greenery, in an assortment of pots. Everything from wall-hugging plants that were slowly making their way up and small pots of smaller succulents. In the middle of the veranda, two armchairs of a night sky blue color and a small but tall round table sat, facing the big windows.
Viktor currently sat on one of those chairs and was making an effort not to melt into them. Between the comfortableness of the cushions, the smell of books, and the sun hitting his face, he could be convinced he was in heaven.
“Viktor?” A bright older voice came from behind him, startling him enough to jump out of the chair and drop his cane. A chuckle came out of the woman behind him. “It’s just little, old me, dear.”
The scientist blushed, grabbed the cane from the floor with difficulty, and stood once more.
The woman was tall, standing proud with her salt-and-pepper hair neatly tucked into an updo, a few strands coming out of it for aesthetics rather than messiness. The kind smile on her face was genuine, and her warm eyes stared at him expectantly. She had a neat stack of paper under her arm, and, Viktor noted, her hands were smudged with black ink.
On her neck, a gold locket sat shining. An almost exact copy of the one in his pocket, but the one on the older woman’s neck was engraved with the correct R.
“I am terribly sorry to disturb you this early, but I have something you should see.” He grabbed the locket and showed it to her. The small piece of jewelry rested delicately on his pale hand.
She inspected it with her eyes at first and then grabbed it. Much like he had done previously, she turned it in her long fingers, opening it and letting out a gasp.
“Where do you find this?” She inquired, not taking her eyes off the locket. “At the Academy.” He told her, only half lying. “Who was wearing it? Do you know?” “Eh…not personally.” He swung his head side to side, scratching the back of his neck. “I’ve only seen a glimpse of them.” “Do you know where I can find them? The owner of the locket?”
His face brightened, the answer on the tip of his tongue.
“The Enforcers HQ.” He said proudly. “Very well, we must go there. Immediately.”
The woman placed the stack of papers on the coffee table and moved quickly, preparing for their departure with swiftness.
“Come now, Viktor. We must hurry.”
…
Both Caitlyn's eyes shifted to the door behind you. She blinked and stood back, straightening her shoulder and getting out of your personal space.
“I am interrogating a suspect. And, with all due respect, I do not appreciate being interrupted, even by you, ma’am.”
You twisted your neck to look behind you. A tall woman stood just outside the door, the dim light of the corridor concealing most of her form, until she moved inside and you gasped.
The last time you had seen that face was in a hospital bed when you were ten. Hollowed cheekbone, sunken eyes, and a peaceful smile on her face. “Take care of your father, dear.” Were the last words she had said to you.
Before your vision got so blurry from tears you could see her face, you mumbled.
“Mother?”

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
The constant ticking of the clock irked Viktor and he pinched the bridge of his nose. The downside of becoming a professor were the exams — sitting down, waiting, wasting hours was unproductive. He could've taught, could've researched, could've experimented with new elements. Instead, he was stuck in a classroom with a handful of students who looked like they were about to shit themselves.
And then there was you. In the back of the room, watching said students like a hawk, circling them like a predator, like you wanted to catch at least one of them cheating. He hadn't spoken to you since the academic year started — two months and two weeks, to be precise.
Viktor tapped his cane, impatiently counting the minutes until the exam was over. It felt like an eternity, watching the sand in the hourglass flowing ever so slowly. The thought of counting each particle of sand amused him. It probably would've been the most productive thing in the past hour.
The sudden noise of a book being dropped caught his attention. Viktor got up from his chair, but you were already at the source. Some little shit thought he could cheat his way through the semester, but not with you there.
"Get out." You told the student, your rigid voice reverberating in the classroom.
"Professor, please-"
"Get out of my classroom." You repeated, eyes burning holes into the poor student's head.
Trembling with fear, he gathered his belongings, tripping on his way out. You just knew the gossip that would start around the campus about you being a bitch, a horrible teacher, the worst he'd ever seen. But you only had one single rule — no cheating. That was it. You allowed your students to eat during your lessons, to call you by your first name, to approach you with any issues they had, whether academic or not. But you did not tolerate cheating.
No one dared to move until the end of the exam, and even Viktor was shaken by your hostility. He remembered you so differently, still visualising how you knelt between his legs to take off his brace, and how sweet your scent used to be whenever you visited him in the laboratory. But now you built metaphorical walls around yourself, changed your clothes, your hair, even your perfume — jasmine, bergamot, musk. Anything but sweet. And Viktor couldn't help but blame himself for that.
The grandfather clock in the classroom struck once, and every single student put their quills down. No one wanted to get on your bad side. Still watching them intently from the back of the classroom, they gathered their belongings quietly and placed their papers on Viktor's desk on their way out. With the last student out, you walked up to the desk and counted half of the papers, stacking them in a separate pile.
"Can we talk?" Viktor caved in. He couldn't stand seeing you like that anymore.
"Here's your stack of exams." You ignored his question. "I'll mark my part, then drop them off at your lab once I'm done. Tomorrow or the day after."
"Of course. I shall try to finish them as quickly as-" He watched you leave, hips swaying as you walked out the door without even saying goodbye. "-possible."
There was no denying that Viktor found your attitude insufferable, albeit it being his fault. He misunderstood you, he got that now. But you refused to give him a chance to explain himself, to apologise, and that drove him mad. The worst part? He couldn't blame you. You basically saved his life, and he repaid you with disdain. Viktor would've probably done the same if the roles were reverse, really.
You walked back to your apartment with the papers neatly organised in a leather bag, careful not mix them with other files and textbooks. The air was getting colder, winter was approaching, and you rushed to get home before the wind froze you to death. You appreciated the warmth of your apartment more than ever, and began marking the papers as soon as you took off your coat and boots.
Thinking back at how you reacted when you caught that boy cheating, you began to consider it might have been too harsh. He still had the chance to retake the exam in summer, but you scared him shitless, you could see that in his eyes. And you didn't want to be the bad professor. You didn't want Viktor to be the good one. The mere idea of him being loved by students while you were hated by them made you cringe.
No, you needed a different approach, one that wouldn't compromise your position at the Academy, or your title of Master of Arts. You needed to kill them, and especially Viktor, with kindness. But you only had two options to be able to do that. You could tell Viktor you got over whatever happened in the lab last year, which was unlikely that he would believe you, or you could actually talk to him about whatever happened in the lab last year, which was highly improbable of you to do.
Okay, so maybe being a spiteful bitch was the way to move forward, only it wouldn't work on the long run. Not when the exams were half science, half arts, and you needed to speak to Viktor about them. Or when the curriculum needed to be revised, and you needed to speak to Viktor about that, too. Or when there were staff meetings, or half term parties, or social gatherings.
The bottom line was that, one way or another, you would end up in a situation which required you to speak to him more than just hellos and goodbyes, and the longer you avoided him, the harder your life would be. And what could you even say? Sorry? Fuck no. Viktor was supposed to apologise, not you.
True to your word, like you had always been, you visited the lab to drop off the papers. Some things stayed the same — same doors, same walls, same floors. But there was something new within the laboratory, something you did not expect. A woman.
She smiled at you, a sickening sweet smile that made you gag, but out of politeness, you nodded, acknowledging her presence. Her tight curls were neatly gathered in a top bun, and she pushed back her half-moon glasses that hid the freckles on her cheeks.
"Hi." You clutched the exam papers at your chest. "Is Viktor here? I need to give him something. "
"He should be back any minute now. I can give him whatever it is you need." She still smiled.
"No, I can wait."
Why? Why did you say that? You could've given her the damn papers and left. You and your stupid mouth. Silence echoed in the lab as you shifted your weight from one leg to another, impatiently glancing at the door in the hopes that Viktor arrived sooner. She, on the other hand, tidied up the place, careful to not throw away anything useful, organising tools and materials that belonged to him. You knew Viktor didn't like it when others touched his stuff, so why was she just casually picking things up like she lived there?
"And you are?" The words came out before you could stop them.
"Oh, silly me, where are my manners?" She shook her head and walked towards you, a hand reached out to shake yours. "Sky Young. I'm Viktor and Jayce's assistant."
"Assistant?" You nodded, stunned by the newfound information. Since when did Viktor need an assistant? "Y/N Y/L/N, Master of Arts." You shook her hand, gripping it a little too tight for her own liking.
"Ah, you're the painter who saved Viktor's life!" Sky looked at you in awe. "I used to be his nurse. Whatever you did baffled the medical community! I became his assistant to help around, but to study him as well."
Study him? You studied him for your portrait, that didn't earn you a spot in his lab. Why was she any better?
"How... nice." The fake smile on your lips betrayed the jealousy in your heart. "On second thought, you can give him these papers. There's no need for me to be here."
"Are you sure? Vik should be here any minute now." Sky's nod of encouragement only added fuel to your desire to leave.
Vik?? They were on a nickname basis now? Bullshit, she wasn't just his assistant.
"I'm sure. I need to prepare the lectures for next term anyway. I don't suppose you know if he finished marking his part of the papers?" You kept your cool.
"He did, actually! Let me get them for you." The girl rushed into an annex of the lab and came back with the stack of exams.
You took a quick look through them to make sure they were all marked, so you wouldn’t need to come back, and shoved them in your bag.
"Thanks."
"No problem! What you are doing is groundbreaking! If there's anything I can assist with, please let me know!" Sky smiled.
Okay, you got it — she was nice and you weren't. Was that how she got under Viktor's skin? By being insufferably nice and sweet? It didn't matter. She was there, in the lab, working with him. And you? You went back to your apartment, alone and upset.
Viktor spent his holiday revising the curriculum for the next term. While Sky was a brilliant assistant, she could be quite overwhelming sometimes. He learned his lesson about not assuming that anyone who treated him with an ounce of respect wanted to secretly mock him, but he forgot about boundaries. As a consequence, Sky waltzed into his lab every day, talking, singing, bringing him food, coffee, tea — Viktor took your silence for granted. He missed that.
He missed you.
Snow crunched under his feet, each step heavier than the previous one. Viktor should've known better than to go to the Academy during a blizzard, but he needed to return a few books back to the library and to write down the grades in the register. Sky offered to do that for him, but there were personal details about his students that she wasn't allowed to see.
He locked the back door to the staff entrance once he was inside the Academy, wiped the snow off his brace and boots, and walked straight to the library. It was hauntingly quiet and dark, and although he appreciated silence, the empty hallways of the University gave him anxiety. Viktor was a rational man, he knew there was nothing there, but the lack of students and staff simply sent a chill down his spine.
With the books returned, he traversed the library and walked downstairs to the staffroom. He would have to write down the grades quickly — the blizzard was getting worse, and the last thing he wanted was to be stuck in an empty University for who knows how long. It would be ironic, poetic even, to die of starvation in a place where he starved for knowledge.
The door to the staffroom was ajar, and the lights were on. Strange, he didn't think anyone else was there. Not in this weather, anyway. Pushing the door open with his cane, Viktor froze on the spot when he saw you sitting down, teeth sinking into your bottom lip, forehead creased as you copied the grades into the register. He would never get another opportunity like that. He needed to finally clear things out with you.
"Hello-"
The wooden chair fell to the floor as you recoiled in fear, one hand on your thumping heart. You sighed in relief when you saw Viktor standing in the doorframe, the panic stronger than the hate you held for him.
"For fuck's sake, Viktor." You grabbed the chair to put it back in its place and sit down. "You scared the shit out of me."
He wasn't used to your colourful vocabulary, not when you posed as an elegant, educated professor. But he couldn't deny the joy it brought him to hear you say his name.
"My apologies, I didn't mean to startle you." Viktor propped himself on his cane.
"No, it's fine. What are you doing here?" Averting your gaze, you looked down at the register.
"I came to return some books and register the grades. I see you're doing the same."
"Yes, well, no rest for the wicked, I suppose." You shrugged. "Why in this awful weather, though?"
"I thought you'd do it when the term started and I didn't want you to feel obliged to speak to me then." Viktor said.
Ouch. His words made you feel horrible. You had been horrible to him. It was a deserved jab at your behaviour and attitude.
"I can come back later-"
"Don't." You almost launched yourself across the table. "You walked all this way in a snow storm, don't leave because of me. If anything, I should leave."
"Eeh, we've both been pricks." Viktor shrugged.
There it was, the crucial, inevitable conversation you dreaded for so long. The one that kept you up at night and stopped you from functioning. The one that would make or break you.
"Listen, Viktor, I-"
"I'm sorry." He cut you off. Taking advantage of your shock, Viktor pulled a chair and sat down, his leg hurting too much to stand. "There's no excuse for the way I reacted, but you must understand that I haven't met a lot of people who genuinely wanted what was best for me. Most people either mocked me or pitied me for my disability. No one really saw past that, with very few exceptions, like Jayce or Heimerdinger."
Shit, you didn't think about why he reacted the way he did. You just assumed he had a god complex and thought your art wasn't comparable to his science. You really took it the wrong way, and drowned him in pettiness and loathing. How could you not think he must've been bullied his whole life? Just because you saw past his illness didn't mean others did. Oh, you were an idiot.
"You don't need to apologise, I need to. I just thought you considered art to be beneath science, and by extension that I was beneath you." You cringed at your own ignorance.
"Why would I ever think that?"
"I don't know, I've been stupid, alright?" You scoffed. "I'm sorry, Viktor. Peace?"
"Peace. Do you mind if I register these exams? That snow storm looks terrible and I’d like to finish before it gets worse." He took out the papers from his bag.
"Not at all! I'll make us some tea, it's bloody cold in here."
When you turned on the stove, Viktor dragged his chair next to yours, and your heart skipped a beat. Rationally, you knew he did it so you could both access the register, but the idea of sitting so close to him gave you heart palpitations. You stirred the honey in his tea, and you smiled to yourself at the memory of you doing the same thing a year ago, when you were in his lab. Who knew you would do it again?
"There you go." You placed two mugs on the table and sat down.
The scent of roses, cinnamon and vanilla filled his nostrils, and Viktor couldn't think anymore. It was the same perfume you wore when you spent time in the laboratory, when you put all your blood, sweat and tears into his portrait. He wondered if wore the other perfume, the one that didn't suit you as much, just to spite him? No. Surely you weren't that petty. But if you did, it stroked his ego to know you cared so much. And just like you did in the lab, you jotted down the grades in complete silence, both of you focused, and so close to one another. It felt normal, and he realised how much he needed your presence around him.
Between writing and sipping tea, you occasionally glanced at Viktor's profile, and it sparked something within you — a burning desire to sketch. He didn't know, but you finished registering the exams a while back, and reached out for a pencil and a scrap piece of paper. Your other hand shielded the lines and circles that began to take shape and look more like him, and as inconspicuous as you tried to be, it was futile.
"I know you're drawing me."
"Damn it!" You huffed.
The staffroom echoed with your laughter, and how could you not laugh? It was such an innocent moment between the two of you that both you and Viktor found it amusing. You really couldn't stop yourself from drawing him — your muse. But all good things had to come to an end, and Viktor finished writing down the last grade in the register. You didn't know why, but the idea of having to go home left you feeling hurt.
You walked with him down the dim hallway and unlocked the back door, but were unable to open it. Something was in its way. Viktor looked out the window, amber eyes wide in genuine panic. When he didn't say anything, you scoffed and moved in his way to try and look outside, but you couldn't see anything but white. The thick snow was blocking the door. You were effectively stuck. One more push, and the door didn’t budge. Another push, and you hurt yourself more than you moved the door.
"Well, looks like we're going to have to dig our way home." You mused.
"You're joking. We'll freeze to death!" Viktor leaned again the window for support.
"I don't see you coming up with a better idea, Mr. Scientist."
"Oh, and digging through snow was your master plan?" He snorted. "I'm sure me and my leg are going to make it back home safely."
"What would you rather do, then, if you're so clever?" You folded your arms across your chest. "Go on, genius."
"We can just... wait for it to end." Viktor pondered. It was definitely better than going out in the cold, and you hated to admit that he was right.
"Ugh, fine. But it's getting late and it doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon. We need to find a place to sleep in."
"My office has a sofa. I can sleep on the floor." He suggested and you stared at him in shock and disbelief.
"Office? You have an office? All I got was a fucking closet."
"Well, I was the Dean's assistant." Viktor chuckled.
You didn't reply, for fear of saying something you might regret later, and instead huffed, puffed and stomped up the stairs, trailing behind Viktor like a lost puppy. That part of the University was foreign to you, and you stopped to examine the portraits of some members of staff — Professor Heimerdinger had one, Jayce had one, Viktor had one, but whoever painted it couldn't capture his real grace.
"Hm, I could do this with my eyes closed." You judged the technique, the colours, the proportions. It was a fantastic portrait, it just missed Viktor's essence.
"Is it not up to your standards, Miss Painter?" He tapped his cane. You got the hint and carried on walking.
"No, the painting itself is fine, but it didn't do justice to your beauty." You said with so much nonchalance that it made Viktor short of breath.
Did you really think that about him? You probably meant it as a painter — most artists found beauty in ugliness, or in the mundane. But there was no possible way you meant it as a woman, not when you were so perfect and he was so broken.
Viktor stopped in front of an oak door with a thin tinted window in the middle of it. He pulled out a set of keys, all of them identical, but he knew exactly which one unlocked his office. Curiosity got the better of you, and with inquisitive eyes, you began examining his study. The first thing that caught your attention was the bearskin rug on the floor. A bit distasteful, you thought, but it looked soft enough to sleep on it. In front of you was a brown velvet sofa, and to your right was a fireplace. The mantle was decorated with trophies from competitions and a picture of Viktor and Jayce, which brought a smile to your face.
On the other side of the office, across the fireplace, was his desk — a few papers were scattered on it, but otherwise it was tidy — and behind it were a bookcase and a wardrobe.
"What's there?" You asked, head tilted towards a door.
"The shower."
"You have a shower, too? I'm sorry, do you live here, fancy pants?" Your reaction to his answer made Viktor chuckle, but he had a perfectly reasonable explanation for that.
"Eeh, Professor Heimerdinger found that some of us spent so much time buried in work that he had showers and toilets installed. They're powered by hextech, so regardless of the weather, there's hot water. Feel free to use it if you want." He shrugged, hanging his coat by the back of his desk chair.
"There's only one problem, Mr. Scientist. I don't have any spare clothes." You saw the grin on his lips. "Don't tell me you have that, too."
"Plenty of clean shirts in the wardrobe. Please help yourself to one." Viktor nodded.
"Wouldn't your girlfriend mind if I wore your clothes?" The hint of jealousy in your voice betrayed your nonchalance.
"Girlfriend?" He looked at you dumbfounded. "I'm afraid I don't follow."
"Come on. Pretty girl with glasses and freckles and a sickeningly sweet smile? Sky?"
"Ah, Miss Young!" Viktor remembered. "I'm sorry to disappoint, but she's not my girlfriend."
It did not disappoint you at all. In fact, it made you hopeful. You weren't sure what you were hoping for, but it felt as though a boulder had been lifted off your shoulders to know that Viktor wasn't involved with Sky.
"Very well. I shall take that offer, then. A shower will warm me up." You walked up the wardrobe and examined the collection of identical shirts. "I suggest you do the same, you shouldn't stay cold." You chose a top that looked a little bigger than the rest, as you didn't want it to be too tight and uncomfortable around your chest.
"I'll start a fire for us, then. The office should warm up by the time you're finished." Viktor dragged his feet to the fireplace.
You thanked him and entered the bathroom, searching through cabinets and drawers for a clean towel. You found one and brought it to the shower, then stripped down and let the hot water clean your body. There was nothing wrong in what you were doing, right? You were two professors stuck in a university until the snow storm settled down. Nothing wrong with taking a shower. Nothing wrong with scrubbing your skin with his body wash. Nothing wrong with drying yourself with his towel. Nothing wrong with wearing his shirt. It was just a professional predicament, nothing more, nothing less.
Gathering your belongings, you exited the bathroom, tugging at the hem of the shirt to cover your thighs. It was shorter than you had hoped, but you knew Viktor was an honourable man. He understood the situation you were both in and it wasn't as though he would jump your bones. Mostly because he didn't like you, and while that comforted you, it hurt your ego. He was an attractive man, and his mind was complex and intriguing — of course you had certain feelings for him. You didn't entirely understand those feelings — respect, admiration, adoration, leftover spite. It was an amalgam of emotions and you didn't have time to process them because you spent a whole year being a bitch.
Viktor's heart throbbed when he saw you awkwardly pull down his shirt to expose less skin, even if it was to no avail. He pretended not to notice your bare thighs and how tight his shirt was around your chest, the buttons barely keeping your breasts from spilling out of it. He poked the fire instead, and you walked around the desk in the hopes that it would cover your lower body.
"I don't suppose you have a blanket I could cover myself with."
"I only have one blanket." Viktor said, back facing you to give you privacy. "Top shelf in the wardrobe. You can use it tonight, I'll sleep in my coat."
"Absolutely not." You stretched, tiptoeing to reach the shelf and he could not stop his head from turning, eyes darting at the shirt that did nothing to cover your lace underwear as you struggled to grab the blanket. "We'll sleep on the rug, back-to-back."
If Viktor didn't know any better, he would've thought you did everything you could to get closer to him. But that was just his imagination. He had no chance to be with you, and understood you were only trying to protect him from the cold. You snatched the blanket and wrapped it around your body, and while it irked him that he couldn't see the skin he would never touch, Viktor found the way you looked all snuggled up to be adorable. It was a stark contrast from the heartless mask you wore for so long.
He left to take a shower, and you guarded the fireplace, cast iron poker in one hand like some knight of flames. The blizzard wasn't getting any better, and the darkness of the night coupled with the snow made it impossible to tell when it would stop. One thing was certain — you were grateful you brought food, and enough for both you and Viktor. Who knew how long you would be stuck there for? Surely Jayce would come looking for Viktor considering he wouldn't be in his lab any time soon.
A great friend he was, you thought. Not just to Viktor, but to you, too. It was Jayce who forced you to draw again, who managed to get you out of the house and who brought some sort of stability in your life. You should thank him at some point. Him and Mel. Things were somewhat back to normal, and it wasn't because of you, but because of them and Viktor.
As if he knew you were thinking about him, Viktor walked into his office, wearing only a pair of loose linen trousers that barely clung to his waist. Beads of water glistened on his pale chest and a few strands of wet hair stuck to his flushed cheeks. You assumed he would put a shirt on, but instead he crawled on the bearskin rug, wincing at the pain caused by his leg, even if it wasn't as bad as it used to be.
You reached out for the leather strap of your bag and pulled it into your lap, taking out the bread you baked that very morning. Breaking it in two, you offered one half to Viktor, who eagerly took it.
"We make a good team, don't you think?" He said and you looked at him with inquisitive eyes. "I provide shelter, you provide food."
"We even make a whole outfit together. You have the pants, I have the shirt." You joked and Viktor rolled his eyes at your attempt of a joke, but his smile was there.
With food in your bellies and the fire dying down, you lied on your back and pulled the blanket over you and Viktor. You could still vaguely distinguish the patterns on the ceiling in the dim light — leaves and vines, flowers and curved lines.
"Back-to-back, yeah?" You told him, turning on your side.
"Yes." Viktor murmured, doing the same.
In the silence of the night, he could hear his own heart pumping blood through his veins. Viktor could've sworn he heard your hear beat, frantically thumping against your ribcage, but he blamed it on his imagination again. You were probably sound asleep, dreaming the sweetest dreams.
You weren't sleeping, you were staring into the darkness of his office, eyes wide and refusing to stay closed. There wasn't an ounce of tiredness in your body, but you thought Viktor had already fallen asleep, and didn't want to bother him with late night conversations about the meaning of life.
His left side was going numb from the pressure of his weight, pins and needles in his arm and shoulder. Viktor sighed, uncomfortably sighing at the sensation. He turned on his back, feeling better already. His eyes adjusted to the darkness, vaguely distinguishing the shapes around him. He raised his head to look at the fireplace — the last thing he wanted was to set fire to the Academy. His mind spiralled, thinking about the next term, about the work he still had to do in the lab, about how his interactions with you would be from now on. Viktor was so used to you ignoring him that he couldn't even imagine you smiling and greeting him in the morning.
"Are you sleeping?" You whispered, pulling him out of his thoughts.
"No, not really." He said. "I don't feel tired."
"Me neither." You turned on your back and faced the ceiling.
"What happened to back-to-back?" Viktor playfully mocked you.
"I got pins and needles in my arm." You admitted. "Can I ask you something?"
"You already did."
"Oh, wow, okay, fuck off." You frowned in the darkness and he laughed.
"I'm only joking. You can ask me anything."
"Would you model for me? I swear on my life I'm not making fun of y-"
"Yes." Viktor cut you off with no hesitation in his voice. "If that will make you happy, then yes.
"Oh. Since when do you care about my happiness?" You laughed, hoping he was jesting, praying he would say something witty.
"Since I lost you." Came his all too serious response, enough to make your blood freeze in your body.
He meant that platonically. He must've meant it platonically. There was no way in hell Viktor cared for you more than a friend, not after the way you treated him. You waited for him to chuckle, to say he didn't mean it that way, but he was quiet. Only one way to find out how he meant his words.
His breathing was heavy, like he had a weight on his chest stopping him from functioning properly, and Viktor flinched when he felt your hand touch his under the blanket. He brushed it off as an accident, until your pinky found his, hooking around it.
"I'm here now." You told him, voice sweet and soothing. "If you'll still have me."
Viktor boldly intertwined his fingers with yours, and you could feel your cheeks burning. But friends held hands, didn't they? It wasn't out of the ordinary. The room was getting colder, and the thin blanket barely offered you any warmth. When your body shivered, Viktor dared to scoot closer to you, his body radiating heat. How was he so hot when he looked so pale?
"Do you want me to hold you?" He asked — platonically, of course.
You didn't reply, but instead crawled under his arm, resting your head on his chest, feeling his frantic heart beats. Friends did that, didn't they? Particularly in such a situation that required you not to freeze.
"I missed you so much." Viktor confessed, burying his face in your hair. You smelled less of you and more of him, and it drove him mad. You were so close, and so far at the same time that his heart almost exploded in his chest from the overwhelming emotions.
"Missed you too." You mumbled, intoxicated by his scent and warmth. "I don't ever want to be a petty bitch to you."
"I promise I won't give you any reason to be one." He smiled into your hair. "Although I must admit, it was quite exciting."
"Mm, how so?" You looked up at him, even if you could barely distinguish his features in the pale moonlight.
"Well, as frustrating as you were, I really wanted to put you in your place." Viktor purred, fingers combining your hair. "I still do."
There was nothing platonic about his words, nothing platonic about the way he held you, and nothing platonic about how you lifted your leg to straddle him, hovering over his body.
"So do it, then. Put me in my fucking place."
His hand slithered behind your head, pulling you into a wet, feverish kiss with newfound strength. Toes curling, you let out a guttural moan, grinning against his lips — you needed him, not as a muse, not as a model, but as a man.
Viktor's hands travelled up your thighs, up your hips, pulling the shirt over your head. There was no time for foreplay — he wanted you, and he wouldn't stop until he had you. With the shirt tossed on the floor, you leaned back for another kiss, another taste of him, and he gladly obliged.
The room wasn't cold anymore, not when you could feel him hard against your clothed cunt, and you automatically rolled your hips, aching for any bit of friction.
"So needy." Viktor's lips curved into a grin, and he dug his fingers into the plush of your thighs, earning a whimper from you.
"Not needy." You shook your head and pouted. "Greedy."
He couldn't see the lust in your eyes, but he felt your hand slip between your bodies, under the fabric of his trousers as you tugged on the waistband, yanking it down. That same hand found his cock, fingers gently wrapping around his shaft and Viktor bucked his hips, yearning for much more than just your fist.
"So needy." You mocked his words, and he found your panties, sliding them to the side.
"Greedy." Viktor corrected you, his digits poking at your entrance, slick coating them.
Lifting yourself to manoeuvre his aching cock, you pushed his fingers away to slip the tip inside of you. Inch by inch, you sunk lower, feeling him stretch your spongy walls. He was bigger than you had anticipated, and you sat there for a good minute to get used to the girth, hissing at the pain caused by the intrusion. It had been a while since you did this.
"Tight." Viktor bit back a moan, struggling not to move — he wanted you to take the lead when you were ready. Perhaps skipping foreplay wasn't such a good idea.
You placed a hand on his chest for support, slowly rolling your hips, his cock reaching deeper than you thought was possible. It was no easy feat taking him all in, but what little stinging pain you felt was soon replaced by pleasure, and the hissing turned into whimpering, weeping.
Viktor was on the verge of a panic attack when he heard your quiet sobs, almost pushing you off him until you bounced up and down his cock, riding him like it was the last time you would see him.
"Fuck- oh, fuck, Vik-" You broke when he held you in place by your hips, fucking you deeper, harder, and you were pliant for him. Obedient for him. Good for him.
Viktor wouldn't last long, not when you chanted his name like a prayer, cunt clenching around his cock. You were made to take him, he thought, his hand on the back of your head pulling you into another sloppy kiss.
"I'm close-" He shamefully admitted, wanting this moment to last forever, but his stamina was weak, and you didn't want to push his body over the limit.
Your fingers reached out for your clit rubbing frantic circles over it to help you climax. Not that his cock couldn't do that, but you could feel it twitching inside of you. He lost himself when your orgasm crashed down like a tide, having the privilege of finishing inside of you. Your body was limp as you struggled to get off him, falling backwards on the rug, his fingers firmly wrapped around yours.
The silence in the office wasn't haunting anymore, but rather peaceful, natural. You didn't feel the need to fill it with meaningless conversations, or petty bickering, or silly jokes. No, it felt good just lying there next to Viktor, holding hands and breathing. Two lost souls — mind and heart, logic and feeling, science and art — coexisting, completing each other, fusing with one another to create something so delicate — love.

Alright, there's something I'd like to talk about, and let's come at it with an open mind. When Season one of Arcane ended I was 99% sure that Mel was not going to make it to this season. I was praying for every kind of miracle that could happen just to keep that beautiful goddess on screen but she was the first line of contact for that bomb.
Now that everything has been revealed, I want to talk about that bomb.
Ironically, Season two episode one starts with the exact same shine of gold that ended season one.
See, season one:
Season two:
And when the smoke clears we can see her leaning really close to Jayce, like she got blasted towards him.
Now, looking at the seat arrangements from Season one, I can actually see it a lot better now that I'm taking a second look. We can see that she is standing directly in the line of fire, Jayce is standing to her left and Viktor is sitting in his chair, Jayce's chair. Just about everyone sitting by her right died, Salo is sitting furthest away from the blast, opposite her. He probably saw it just a few seconds before she did.
And when she wakes up, all groggy and out of focus, her hands are on his shoulder. They been there, she did not just put them there, she already had her hands on him. Protecting him.
But what I really want to pay attention to, is the look on Mel's face when she and Jayce take in the damage.
The entire place burned down. Realistically, not a single person should have survived that, especially not unharmed.
Then the damage starts sinking in (Don't look at Jayce, look at Mel):
Look at Mel, as they look around the room of injured Councillors.
Jayce is panicking, full on panicking, he's had his nerves rattled, he's never seen anything like this (unlike Mel who, if the audience remembers, grew up in Noxus). And the sweetest thing is how she follows him around, trying to comfort him, while he's trying to shake Cassandra awake.
And she stays right there by his side, until her mother pulls her away (foreshadowing about their duties pulling them apart perhaps?)
Now, imagine you were in the middle of a disaster, a terrible disaster, and you had the power to save every single person in that room, but you did not know this because no one ever bothered once telling you that you had powers. However, in that moment, you did indeed save one person, without knowing, without even thinking. Who did Mel save?
She saved Jayce. (The craziest thing about that.....is that.... Viktor was literally right beside him. He was right beside Jayce OMG 😭😭).
Watching this scene, I cannot imagine the amount of guilt that threatened to swallow Mel whole ever0y time she saw the aftermath of what happened and a small part of her brain would nag her that she could have prevented it, that she could have protected Jayce's friend.
So why Jayce? Why ONLY Jayce?
"Because she loves him."
Obvious answer, two plus two equals four, but this is Arcane we're talking about, there is more to this simple equation and it is plain to see in their reactions in the aftermath.
Jayce is devastated. He is new to war, he does not know shit about it, it scares him to see all the people that he respects flattened like they are nothing. The Piltover Council means something to Jayce.
To Mel, they are colleagues. They are.... people with names and faces and power. They are people she would help on a normal day, but at the first sign of danger she clung to one person.
Jayce was Viktor's first friend, and he was Mel's too. He was the first person to tell her that she was not crazy. The first person to strangely believe in her dreams, to pour out affection not out of arrogance but genuine care that he was not ashamed or even hesitant to show her. He fought for peace when she began to doubt. When she felt unstable, his naivete and pure heart steadied her.
Mel loved Jayce. Loved him so much that she did not freak out when he was tweaking cause of the Arcane. So much that she fought for him when he was getting outright dominated by his ex. 💀💀 And while it is not the space shattering world changing soul bonded union of javik, I think it is beautiful that Mek loved Jayce.
I think it's ironic that the brotherly love that people keep trying to achieve with Jayce and Viktor was represented so well with Jayce and Mel. I think it's iconic that a male and female character that banged on screen can go their separate ways without a dramatic breakup and without losing the entirety of their care for one another (cause some of it was definitely damaged after their individual trauma).
What I'm trying to say is that Mel loved Jayce. The love was there. Call it romantic or platonic or whatever but she cared about him more than she cared about anyone in that room when that bomb went off.
And it just twists something in my heart....that Jayce was so loved by the two people that meant so much to him. That he gave all of his heart out and they gave everything back because of how selfless his love was. Everyone says Viktor and Mel are out of Jayce's league but they both keep putting him first. (TT) They just cannot resist that all encompassing love of his. It saved Viktor, and it saved Mel who finally found her truth, and lost him to find it.
#meljayvik#not canon? very canon bexause they both loved that pathetic loser 😭#and this is not to say that Mel missed out on Jayce's love because she actually got the full package#and he showed her how selfless love can be and she'll never settle for less ever again#and I'm just crying over Mel finding herself because the dude she took interest in ended up healing her#I'm just ranting rubbish at this point#don't know if anyone will even read it#mel arcane#arcane season 2#arcane spoilers#arcane season two#mel medarda#I love Jayce Talis and his weird super power of attracting the most cosmically powerful beings in the universe#and accidentally making them love him so deeply. he is so loveable. I can't believe he ever had haters#jayce talis#jayce x mel#jayce x viktor

Hey it wouldn't be me, in a fandom, if I didn't write some kind of ficlet about a character's hair, right?
The post-canon Viktor and Jayce I'm imagining here are very close to the ones from this amazing fanart by @kidovna because I'm obsessed with the idea of Viktor having a chest scar that looks like that one 3D character model where he's all spongy inside.
Viktor's body knits itself back together, after. Into something human, more or less. A silver-white starburst of scar tissue spread across his chest, in the place where the blast from Jayce's hammer punched him open.
His hair looks like it did in the commune, falling nearly to his shoulders, the ends bleached pale in places. There's a new tuft of pure white blooming from the spot where his hairline touches the thin scar bisecting his face. Jayce catches him staring at it in the bathroom mirror, rearranging where his hair is parted to hide or reveal the white bits.
He shuffles into the tiny bathroom, standing behind him, meeting his gaze in the mirror.
"Your hair got long," he says. Trying to make it sound as if that's the only thing that's changed.
"It's...strange." He sweeps back the chestnut-auburn curtain of it and then lets it fall back around his face. "Didn't know many people with long hair, growing up. If you worked in the factories, short was better. Safer. Easier to get clean."
He holds his breath. He can count on one hand the number of times Viktor has mentioned anything about his childhood.
"Before," he says, and Jayce knows he means in the commune. "I didn't think about it. I didn't feel like I was...in my body...a lot of the time."
"Do you like it like this?" He reaches up to brush an errant strand back from Viktor's cheekbone. Catches the tiniest flicker of a smile at the touch.
"You like it like this."
"It's your hair, Viktor. I'd like it no matter what you did to it."
Viktor shoots him a skeptical look. "Even if I shaved myself bald?"
He shrugs. "Really make your eyebrows stand out." Viktor elbows him in the ribs. But his smile cracks a little wider.
"You do like it, though. You can't stop putting your hands in it." And he realizes his hand is already in it, running up from the nape of Viktor's neck to tangle in the strands behind his ear.
"Can't stop putting my hands all over you." His other hand is on Viktor's waist, sliding up under the hem of his shirt. He can't touch him enough, now that he knows he's allowed. Crowding him up against the sink, the narrow column of his body pressed against him from head to toe. He uses the hand in his hair to angle his head--not pulling, just gently guiding him to expose the long line of his throat so he can kiss him there.
"Mm," Viktor hums. "I've noticed."
Later, when they're lying together sweaty and satisfied, he finds himself running his fingers through Viktor's hair once again.
Viktor's breathing is soft and even, and he's starting to think that he's fallen asleep, when Viktor says, very quietly: "I like that you like it."
"I do," he admits. "But...don't keep it this way just for me. If you want to cut it, I'll help you. Or if you just want it out of your face, I can braid it up for you. I can do braids like you wouldn't believe."
From where his head is resting on Jayce's chest, Viktor snorts. "Really?"
"Consequences of having your only friend be a teenage girl." He can feel the twitch of Viktor's smile against his skin.
"I don't know. How I feel about it yet," Viktor says after a long moment of silence. "I don't know...what I am now."
"That's easy." His hand settles on the back of Viktor's neck, the soft ends of the hair there tickling his wrist. "You're my partner."

Vi got robbed by the finale
First, a few words on where I'm coming from. I really enjoyed Vi and felt for her in season 1. I'm a Cait/Vi enjoyer and was looking forward to their resolution. I do not have fundamental objections to Vi becoming an enforcer. I don't have a problem with Caitlyn and Vi having sex in the Jinx cell and I actually think it is one of the better scenes of her arc.
IMO she was great, tragic POV heroine and lead in season 1.
Her status changed in season 2, which is reflected in the screntime distribution (ie both Jinx and Caitlyn having more screentime). This does not have to be a bad thing. You can have good arcs and emotionally resonant stories even as a supporting character.
But the more and more I think about the finale and Act 3, the more I think Vi really got treated badly. And the core is really this:
I've joked that I thought about switching my ship allegiance to Mel/Cait after the finale. I'm not actually serious about it. But it got me to think.
And I came up with the following thesis:
1.) Vi is really, really unimportant and useless in the final fight 2.) That matters because they went with an an action finale
On to a long post discussing Vi's role in the finale and Vi's arcs in Act 1 and 2 and her lack of meaningful arc in Act 3.
Within the finale there's really a clear hierarchy of conflicts.
1.) Viktor is the biggest threat and the most emotionally emphasized climax. Jayce is the action and emotional hero of this threat, Ekko is the supporting cool action hero of this threat.
2.) Ambessa is the second most scary threat. She's not a universe threatening as Viktor, but she's still badass and interesting and she gets a cool and very lengthy action scene associated with her. Mel is the emotional core of this conflict. Cait gets the badass action part of this conflict. Mel and Cait also directly coordinate, increasing the badassery.
3.) Warwick by comparison is barely a goon. He feels like an afterthought. Not like a major threat. Vi and Jinx are "assigned" to him. Jinx is the hero of this already fairly unimportant conflict and I would argue she even gets the bigger emotional punch, even though Vi is clearly affected as well.
I find it striking how different Vi's role in the battle feels to Caitlyn. Caitlyn it feels gets two badass action sequences. First in the smoke, really getting to show of her sharp shooting:
While at the same time, Vi gets her shit kicked in by regular Noxian soldiers and is busy... trying to hold a door? Babysitting the shooting of a rocket?
I've been thinking about it. On paper, there isn't that much of a difference between Cait's sharp shooter sequence and Vi's sequence at the tower.
Both show several people dying around them (though Cait acts calm and professional about it while Vi reacts emotionally). Both have bit player characters stepping in to help execute what they are doing (Steb placing the bomb, Jhin tease guy shooting the rocket). Both have missions that kind of fail (Cait's bomb doesn't go off, the rocket shoots the empty egg thing).
But it still feels like Caitlyn just gets way more glory shots. While Vi gets pushed to the floor, gets rescued by Jinx and Ekko riding to her rescue.
Her big glory shot
In theory should be great. She is punching Warwick to rescue Jinx. But it's shot so far away and turns around so fast into Warwick choking her, we don't feel the impact of her punch at all, even though on paper it is Vi using her gauntlets in a really cool innovative way.
If I compare how the Cait/Ambessa fight goes, yes Cait also gets hurt and thrown to the ground.
But Cait's fight just feels way more badass and Cait like a fundamental part of that conflict. Cait and Mel fight like a well coordinated team while Vi, Jinx and Ekko feel a lot more erratic. Cait is the one who initiates the fight in the first place, Cait is the one who makes a badass sacrifice to open up an essential tactical weakness. Yes, Mel gets the last shot and the emotional payoff, but it still feels very much like Caitlyn's fight too.
Yes in theory, Vi and Jinx go back and forth with saving each other, but it's just much faster and erratic, and *busier*, it just never has the same impact to hit. (I would be very interested in seeing a numbers breakdown, how much screentime is spent on the various different fights but also who has longer scenes before the next cut is)
It just feels like this finale is filled with scene after scene after scene with Vi being shellshocked and helpless and not really being super effective enough to compensate for that. Neither her glory moments, not her emotional moments really get the time to breathe the way this moment does with slo-mo and a song.
Compare Vi hurtling herself at Warwick to save Jinx, versus Jinx hurtling herself at Warwick to save Vi.
Okay, so is this just a dick measuring contest over who gets to be the most badass?
No. It's not a crime for Vi not to be the most effective fighter in the finale. But let's take a step back.
Act 1: Vi is a supporting character, but she has a clear role
I have said before I feel a major difference to season 1 is that rather than Vi being the main driving character, the show switched. Cait is the main character of Act 1, Jinx of Act 2.
Vi has lost her spot as main character, but her role in the story is still very clear. She is there as Cait's partner, her heart, her conscience. She witnesses Cait's distress. She tries to reach out to her. When they have an action scene, they work together and coordinate.
Arcane has action roots. Characters express themselves through their action scenes. That's why it's important who gets what action scene.
Also, while Cait's grief and hate and decisions drive the events of Act 1, Vi has her own arc of having hardened towards Jinx (agreeing Cait should take the shot) and then having that challenged by the end and of course getting an emotionally charged poignant moment when Cait dumps her when Vi takes a stand for Isha (= Vi making a choice).
Act 2: Vi is a supporting character, but she has a clear emotional arc
IMO Jinx is the clear lead character of act 2. She has a clear arc with Isha, befriending Isha, rescuing Isha, losing Isha.
Jinx is also the driving force of the Warwick arc. She encounters Warwick first. She is the one Warwick recognizes first. She puts 2+2 together. She seeks out Vi. She initiates their trip to the mines. She gives Vi the important hint about correctly handling Warwick. Warwick jumps into action ("Don't touch my daughter") to save her. His "death" in this arc is linked to Jinx and Isha.
But Vi still has a nice and satisfying enough arc in Act 2 anyway. She starts at rock bottom and grieving, she gets roped in by Jinx, she is initially suspicious of Jinx, she starts to trust Jinx more, her reunion with Warwick is emotional, they all go and try to help him, Jinx and Vi think about their mother.
Vi also goes from grieving Cait, to fixing her own life a little bit, to re-encountering Cait and teaming up with her again.
The big theme of Vi's arc is trust. She has to get over her fears and trust Jinx's advice on Warwick, just like she has to trust Caitlyn about letting Cait tie her up and play fake prisoner.
Act 3: Jinx has an arc about Vi, but Vi has no arc about Jinx
Jinx's in arc in Act 3 is about deciding to leave Vi. Everything in this arc is to prepare us for it.
Vi is not at all in the first episode. Even though the trigger of that episode was according to Amanda Overton what would happen if Vi had died in the original explosion, and the episode is absolutely respectful of Vi, with much grief and praise about it, in the end the portrayal isn't really about how life is impossible for these characters without Vi.
We get told what's going to happen to Jinx and get emotionally prepared for it, even though we don't know it. Sometimes leaping a step forward means leaving a few things behind. We get prepared for the idea that leaving things behind doesn't have to be a bad thing.
In the next episode, again we are getting prepared for what Jinx wants to do through her vision of Silco. She's going to heroically break the cycle of violence. Also, codes and commitments (like Vi's to Jinx) can be the bars we lock outselves in with. Identities (like the Jinx identity) are the cells we want to break out of.
Jinx then makes her decision. She's going to leave Vi. Vi never giving up on her is perceived to be something negative by her. She sets Vi free, telling her to stop caring about Jinx, telling her to be happy with Cait instead.
In the last episode, Ekko talks her out of killing herself. But Jinx still is determined to leave Vi. She says her goodbye to Vi. She assures Vi that it's not a problem because they will always be close anyway.
She then cuts the ties, lets go of Vi's hand and tumbles down with Warwick (and by most people's logic, fakes her own death and leaves the city).
Jinx has made a decision about Vi, which she executes. But Vi has no say in this decision. That's why she has no arc. She doesn't get to make a decision about her future really.
Even sneaking out to try and save Jinx we find out was prepared for by Caitlyn (and of course we find out that Caitlyn is the one who understands what Jinx did while Vi is still outside of this decision). And yes, she chooses to sleep with Caitlyn and she chooses to live with Caitlyn. But do these things really feel like part of her arc or just Vi reacting to circumstances?
IMO Vi wasn't ready to let Jinx go, that's why Jinx had to do it against Vi's will. That's why Vi doesn't make a real decision in Act 3.
Amanda said they wanted to explore who Vi would be if she didn't have anybody she had to protect and that is a valid and cool idea. But how much time with that did we really get?
And yes I genuinely think that if Vi had gotten a better action role within the finale it would have made a real difference in not making her feel so aimless.
Don't get me wrong. I get why they split it like that. The story required for Vi and Jinx to be paired up, so they can execute the conclusion of their sisters story. And unfortunately, compared to the other threats going on in the finale that story didn't really get the attention and gravitas and time and focus it deserved. (also Vi doesn't have a meaningful enough relationship with Ambessa for it to work for her to be in the Ambessa confrontation)
The problem is also that Vi doesn't really have much of a say in the conclusion of the sisters story. And her future is with Caitlyn.
So if they had found a way to sneak in some Vi and Caitlyn also doing action together or even just have Vi react to Caitlyn's duel or have Caitlyn react to Vi being under attack from Warwick, I think it would have felt more satisfying vis a vis the relationship they are going to have.
Alternatively. I love Ekko. I love that he got a badass fighting moment against Viktor. But in the moment where Jayce flies past Vi, for a moment I thought Vi would switch battlefields and Jayce and Vi would team up again, like they've done a couple of times already. If Vi's identity within the final battle was to be a big damn hero, that would also have imo left us more assured about what her identity is moving forward. Rather than the only thing we have is her being fairly weak in battle, being left out of information loops/not being smart enough to recognize them and being Cait's sweet live in girlfriend.
I don't hate Vi. I don't hate CaitVi. And I actually have some hope that maybe there is a chance that CaitVi as a pair will get to show off their stuff in some other form after all. But yeah, that's why imo season 2 and particularly Act 3 really did Vi a disservice.
(I'm not even suggesting things like Vi's decision to fight for Piltover and seeing so many Zaunites die being given gravitas or her reacting to Sevika being on the council, because I think the writers just have no interest in this topic at all)

Overlock Stitch Part 4/?
Summary:
Viktor is just trying his best to survive his years as a student at the academy when a girl studying textiles suddenly begs him to let her tailor his uniform. She is right, it doesn't fit, but he isn't in the business of accepting charity from strangers. "Please?" She asks, "It would be fully anonymous on your part and we would both be better off." Then again, but with feeling, "please?" Viktor eyes her again and against his better judgement, presents an undeserved olive branch, "Will you be here tomorrow?" Her smile is so wide it almost makes him want to recoil. He wonders if her cheeks hurt.
Contains: Third person POV, She/Her Pronouns for reader
Word count: 3195

Having Viktor in her room makes her jumpy. Every one of her nerves is a live wire, she feels like she might implode in on herself if she doesn't find a way to calm the battering ram of her heart. It's somehow worse how casual he looks, the way he comfortably sinks into the cushions of her sofa and sips on a cup of tea, as if to him this is not a panic inducing experience. She should have fought harder when he offered- well, not offered, told her that he was going to fix the radiator. What kind of host invites a person over and then just stands around while they do household repairs for them? She gets an itchy feeling, worming into her brain, remember that conversation they had about favours and their value, looking at him now she can't help worrying that he felt he had to do that, so he wouldn't owe her anything.
She bounces a knee, glad that he has decided to stay, terrified at the prospect of keeping him occupied all the while.
It is much warmer in the room now that the radiator is actually working. Viktor quickly stood up from the sofa and turned the boiler back on five minutes ago before settling back into his seat and she can't deny how much nicer it feels inside now that the place is actually properly heated. She has been trying to carefully unpick the inner seam on a pair of his trousers for some time now, but her shaky hands are making it difficult. It's not so much Viktor that is making her nervous, more just the presence of another person at all. Viktor is special in a sense, largely that he is the only person she has cared to impress for reasons outside of maintaining her already fragile reputation.
Whatever desire she has to maintain airs around her classmates is more about protecting her enrolment at school, in making her final year of study as smooth as possible. Aside from that she could hardly care what they actually think about her as a person, she already knows they don't like her. With Viktor it's different, she aches for his approval, for the tiny first inclinations of a smile that she catches every so often. She wants for him not to just tolerate her, but to like her and that is what makes her hands shake.
"How old is your sewing machine?" Viktor asks suddenly.
She nearly stabs herself with the seam-ripper. She had half expected him to not say a word until she did and she was still trying to muster up the confidence, "I-I'm not sure, very, I think. It was my grandmother's on my father's side."
He hums low under his breath and then leans forward to rest his teacup on the table, "Might I take a look at it?"
"Oh, sure, that would be fine." She finally finishes undoing inseam of his trousers and hangs them over the armrest before reaching for the last pair, "Just be careful, it's pretty delicate."
"I did say look and not touch, didn't I?" Viktor asks in a tone that she almost dares to interpret at playful. He smiling again, she tries not to stare, "I will be careful, don't worry."
Luckily finding the first stitch and hooking her seam-ripper through it takes enough focus that it's easy to avoid watching as Viktor crosses the room to look at the machine. It's nothing like the ones in the academy, it's an old thing with scuffed dark paint and a litany of chipped hand painted flowers decorating it in a assorted colours and styles. Her father and grandmother paint differently enough that she can tell which flowers were drawn by who by style alone. Her father always seems to paint the sorts of daises that grow up through cracks in the pavement, the ones she always watches the academy groundskeeper ripping out because they are apparently weeds. Her grandmother largely favoured painting an old species of flower that her father says haven't been seen in decades, not since he was very young. Butter yellow, with a shape like two scooping hands held upward to the sky.
"Did you paint these?" Viktor asks quietly.
She peers up at him, he's bent half over, fingers not quite brushing the flowers on the base of the machine, "No." She answers truthfully, "My father, and grandmother. I'm too nervous to add anything to it, I'm better with a needle and thread than I am with a paintbrush."
"These are Zaun flowers." Viktor says and she might imagining it, but he sounds almost wistful.
"Yes." She answers softly, noticing the way his hair curls up at the base of his skull, the broad slope of his shoulders, "My father says they died out sometime after he moved topside to be with my mother. I've never seen them."
There is silence for a moment, so long that she returns to tailoring. She manages to unpick a few more stitches before Viktor replies. His voice is quiet and mournful, he doesn't turn to face her, still staring at the sewing machine.
"My mother had two of them pressed in a hardcover novel." and then, quietly, like a rasp in the back of his throat, "They were beautiful."
She doesn't know how to respond to that. To the realness of it. She could tell him that she is sure they were beautiful, but that wouldn't help because she doesn't know and she can only assume, that's all it ever is with him, assumptions that she is sure are wrong half of the time. "My grandmother must have painted them well, then. If you recognised them." She tries, hands shaking in her lap.
Viktor hums, peering at her from over his shoulder, "She did."
There is a lapse in conversation, in time too, it feels like. Viktor slowly returns to the sofa and picks his teacup back up and she returns to unpicking stitches in his final pair of trousers. It feels like hours have passed before she finds the courage to peer up at him, only for her heart to gallop in her chest at the sight of him staring back. He doesn't move to break her gaze, just continues to look at her, curiously, she thinks. Her hands shake at the final stitch, unsure where she is supposed to be looking but unable to bear the thought of turning from him.
His nose is slightly crooked, she's never noticed that before.
She quickly ducks her head down before she notices anything else. Before she starts mapping the contours of his face, enveloping his topography in the soft inner recesses of her mind. Though she can't stop visualising the curve of his upper lip, the jut of his chin.
She finally manages to unpick the last stitch, but the uncomfortable twisting in her stomach doesn't leave.
"I-I have to affix the fasteners now." She says quickly, trying not to look at him, "It can be a little noisy sometimes, I need to hammer them. Is that alright?"
"Cannot be louder than what I hear in the engineering lab." Viktor says dismissively from somewhere in her peripheral vision, "Besides, I am not much of a complainer."
She has noticed that, and as she gathers all of his trousers and starts bringing them up to her worktable, the thought stews in her a little, they way thoughts always do before she says something stupid. She does, of course, right as she sits down at the table.
"You can complain." She says quickly before she can stop it, "I'd like it if you did."
Viktor barks a laugh from behind her, "Would you?"
She shrugs a shoulder, opening her sewing kit to remove a set of fastener pieces and the tool used to press them together, "My classmates never tell me when I've done something wrong, at least not to my face." she pauses as she rummages through her drawers for the hefty cube of metal that she uses for hammering, she hits her fingers less this way, "I like that you speak your mind. If you did it more I'd probably be less nervous around you."
"I make you nervous?"
She turns around quickly with the intention of defending herself, completely forgetting there was a reason she hasn't been looking at him. Viktor has one leg crossed over the other, one arm resting across the back of the sofa and the other still holding his teacup. He's smiling too, which isn't fair. That toothy smile, the one she barely gets to see.
"Everyone makes me nervous." She says unconvincingly, certain that her tone betrays that the way he makes her nervous is somehow different, "I'm not good at pretending, not like them."
Viktor hums, and she likes the way the sound is absorbed into the walls of her dorm. She hopes it sticks.
"A complaint, then." Viktor begins, "For your satisfaction." "O-Okay." She responds, nerves suddenly alight at the thought of him disliking anything about her, despite asking for the truth herself.
"You are too afraid of me." He says slowly and evenly, "I will not bite, Myšičko."
She feels blood rushing up the sides of her throat, she is not afraid of him. Of disappointing him, of driving him away, yes, but not of him. She swallows, "Promise not to pretend around me, then I won't have a reason to be afraid."
Viktor pauses, his brow furrowing and she panics, terrified that she has overstepped. He exhales evenly and responds, "I can try, but it will not come all at once. I do not know you yet, you understand?" he shrugs one shoulder, "Maybe if you stop pretending around me as well, it will be easier."
She didn't really think she was pretending. She has been trying hard not to, but the high-society false pretences cling to her like a second skin and Viktor is right, they don't know each other, it is not so easy to shed the falsification that way it is with her parents. Every minute detail of herself that she has shared so far felt terrifying, made her heart race and muscles tighten like her body was preparing to sprint. She wants to be real, but it is like prying herself open each time.
"Ask me a question, then." She says quietly, urging her hands not to shake, "I'll answer." she finds she can't meet his eyes anymore and suddenly figures it will be easier if she doesn't have to look at him, "Just…Just let me get started on the fasteners, the distraction will help, I think."
Viktor stays quiet for just a moment, waiting for her to start focusing on her work again. Then, he asks, "When you first introduced yourself to me, you didn't offer a surname. Why?"
Despite his gentle intonation, her shoulders still jump like his question is some sort of assault. She tries to focus on aligning the pieces of a fastener, pressing the pins through the fabric. This is an easy question, she can tell he has tried to ease her into it, but despite that her body still arc with terror even though Viktor is perhaps the only person at the academy who wont judge her for this.
"I don't have one, technically." She says quietly, lining up the tool designed to press the pieces of the fastener together "My mother's surname was forfeit when she married my father, she tried to negotiate for him to take hers instead, but they didn't allow it."
Viktor doesn't speak behind her, so she quickly hammers the fastener into place and continues, "My maternal grandmother lets me use the family name on academy documentation and I use it with my classmates but I-" she moves onto the next fastener, struggling with her shaking hands, "I guess I felt like I didn't have to with you, lie I mean, at least, not about that."
"Is your grandmother your patron"
She nods, taking a moment to hammer in the next fastener, "She says I shouldn't suffer for my mother's poor decisions, and that if I study and find a nice topside husband I can rejoin her side of the family, it's all so very-"
"Piltover?" Viktor offers mischievously, and that makes her laugh.
"I was going to say vapid, but i suppose the two are synonymous." She sighs, moving onto the final fastener for this pair of trousers, "I took up the offer for patronage and just need to play nice with her until the end of this year, and then I can go set up my own shop without her or her help."
~~~
There's a lamp on her desk with a pale yellow bulb. Viktor notices they way the light catches on the shaken out mess of her hair. He also notices the tension in her shoulders and aches to ease it, the same way he aches for someone to ease the ever-present tightness in his temples and behind his eyes. he notices that even with the explanation behind her reasoning, she still never offered the surname, but supposes that he is a secret he is happy to let her keep.
"Ask me something." He says before the rational side of his brain has a chance to stop it.
She freezes in the middle of affixing the next fastener, the tension in shoulders changes to one of alertness instead of discomfort. Viktor is shocked that he can even tell the difference. She turns to face him, bright eyes wide and uncertain. The light of the lamp shines out around her and his gut once again churns with the thought of softness and warmth and home.
"Are you sure?" She asks, as if he had just ordered her to bury a knife into his gut.
He laughs, "Supremely, it's only fair."
She makes a sound, a sort nervous titter and he imagines her as a mouse all over again, "Are you…enjoying your studies?"
Viktor nearly laughs again at the innocent inquisitiveness of her question, so easily answered and so seemingly kind, "Yes and no." He answers truthfully, "It is good to have my brain teased a bit, but I could do without my gaggle of classmates."
She turns back to her worktable and nods, "The same as me, then."
She doesn't ask him anything else, instead returning her focus to the worktable. The tight pull of her shoulders seems to have loosened and Viktor doesn't appreciate how relieved that makes him feel. He decides not to ask her another question either, at least not yet. Instead he muses about the difference in how she works on her textiles to how she communicates. At this angle he only catches glimpses of her hands, how quickly and nimbly they move as she inserts the fasteners. Hands that shake at her sides whenever he speaks to her seem completely stable now that her focus has returned to her work.
He finds himself wishing he were sitting across from her, to watch her brow furrow and lips purse as she loses herself in focus. He wonders briefly how he looks when he does the same. Viktor is not one of those self-important engineering students who believes the arts are a frivolous endeavour requiring little to no actual expertise. He watched his mother darn enough of his socks that he has more than a burgeoning appreciation for textiles, the art of it, the mathematics behind knitting or crochet, the importance of different stitches for different fabrics. The essentially of over-locking, preventing the edges from fraying, holding everything together when it could so easily fall apart.
So he continues watching her, even as she finishes the last fasteners and instead begins pinning the folded seams before lining them up with the needle on her sewing machine. It's a loud thing, each press of the pedal sounding more like a kur-chunk than the smooth gear rotation of the one she uses at the academy. She's confident enough with the machine that she is able to tuck some unruly hair behind her ear and continue holding the fabric in place with just one hand.
For some reason, sitting here in her small, dimly lit dorm room. The sound of old machinery, the clutter of bolts of fabric and dried flowers reminds him of a home that hasn't existed for years, back when his parents were both alive and his mother would slip flowers between the pages of old books and his father would tinker with whatever he could find at an old worktable. It's a nostalgia so aching that he almost resents it.
Then the silence breaks, gently, tentatively, when she whispers, "Viktor?"
She is very focused on her sewing and doesn't look up, even when he responds, "Yes?"
She grows still, foot pausing on the pedal, and then after a moment she asks, "Do you miss Zaun?"
She says that word, Zaun, with a quivering intonation. It's as if she isn't sure that she is allowed to say it, that this is her first time actually voicing it out loud.
Viktor has been asked about his home many times, though usually with a teasing edge, or even worse, with a morbid curiosity. Though her question is different from all the others he has suffered through. She doesn't ask for gritty details, doesn't ask if it is just as terrible and violent as everyone says that it is.
Of all the students who have asked him invasive, curious questions, this is the first time anyone has dared acknowledge that his home is a place worth missing. That it isn't just somewhere he was lucky to escape from, or some stink that he will never be able to scrub out. It makes the inner corners of his eyes prickle with the beginnings of tears. He clenches his hands and takes a deep breath in through his nose.
"Sometimes." He lies, he misses it always.
She hums quietly and slowly starts working the pedal again, "Well if you ever want to go visit, I could always come with you?" she says softly, as if she is reaching her hand out, pleading for him to take it, "My grandmother used to have a workshop down there, but my father closed it when he lost his arm. Sometimes I wonder if it's still there, I guess."
Viktor finds himself laughing, in disbelief more than anything, "Are you certain? You aren't worried that someone might try to attack you or rob you, Myšičko?" She shrugs a shoulder, "You haven't, and you've had every right to, I know I can be very annoying to be around."
He laughs again and is happy when he catches the nervous upward curl of her mouth, "Alright, then." he says non-noncommittally, not wanting to come off as too enthusiastic, too appreciative, "Maybe someday."
She turns around in her chair and gives him another one of those achingly wide smiles, her eyes crinkle in the corners and her cheeks flush red.
Viktor is too afraid to tell her that these days he hardly finds her annoying at all.
Even though I loved the writing of LoL Jayvik I really appreciate that Arcane is going for a different approach so far, makes things feel less predictable! Instead of ideological differences driving the divide between them it is more so that they are just... out of sync so far?? I mean, during last season Viktor even before his diagnosis was eagerly meddling with the Hexcore with little regard to safety, then straight up went for the illicit and damaging drug to facilitate the transformation process, then when he ran out of that drug he proceeded to try using Hexcore without it (when he already TESTED that on plants and should have known it would backfire) which killed Sky... At which point he went oh shit, ok, I should stop meddling with this thing and just die peacefully maybe. It's not very clear how much of that he told Jayce aside from making him promise to destroy the Hexcore, but Jayce's surprised reaction in s2 when hearing about Sky makes me think it wasn't much at all...? So Jayce doesn't feel as much of an asshole for, once again, going against Viktor's explicit wishes. He pretty much never has the full picture before being forced to make a decision! Idk it makes him very sympathetic to me ngl, just feeling more and more guilt but continuing to fuck up due to lack of knowledge and experience, is that not relatable? And aside from being entirely unprepared for Viktor's death even after s1 I think it's like Jinx says in this Act too, it was something he could fix for once... Perhaps this is why he agrees to the use of Hextech weapons, too, feeling like it's the only thing he can do to 'help' the people he cares about and protect himself too (I guess killing just 1 defenseless child wasn't enough of a learning moment for him lmao). Despite again, this going very much against Viktor's wishes (and Mel's!! we didn't get her with Jayce after this but I imagine she's not very happy with him either... Viktor&Mel team up when). This time Jayce is the one just going for it and hoping for the best despite knowing very little of how it works. I also love how a lot of us in the fandom and also Singed in the series assumed Jayce would be appalled by Viktor's experiments but instead... he immediately goes even further :D And when Viktor wakes up and goes bye Jayce is like ?? but then by the end of the next episode he starts to realise that ohh alright so maybe yeah they should have stopped... Who'd have thunk. I'm not super up to date with League lore but is it really that difficult to find a sane mage for consultation purposes? ...Also I really doubt that hitting that thing (wild rune?) with his hextech-powered hammer was a good move lmao and yet even in this it seems similar to what Viktor is currently doing. Both continue to use the arcane to try and fix things, Jayce through violence and Viktor through transmutation, but it kind of seems like the same kind of mistake. (they are just pretty bad scientists and always have been and i love that for them lmao)
Five and Lila (nonromantic) subway headcanons
Like everyone I really hated the Five x Lila storyline and the butchered potential of their almost-sibling relationship development.
But one thing that really ticked me, and that I haven't really read about yet, is: that timeskip montage looks like 3 weeks, maybe 2 months at best, not SIX FUCKING YEARS. In six years, people visibly age, especially under duress, if, for example, the only thing they can eat is rats?? (I'm not even talking about how they managed to keep roughly the same clothes and haircuts for six years without any explanation, or how they miraculously cleaned up before going back to Diego and Lila's precisely at the right point in time...) In six years alone with another person, you would probably struggle keeping your sanity, and the end result for each of them would probably look something like early stages of Apocalypse S1 Five. In six years alone with another person, even with prior attraction (which would already be ooc for both of them but whatever let's just grant them that for the sake of the argument), you would end up HATING each other all the way through your codependent relationship. I could see them having sex after six months (still following those creepy-ass ooc assumptions), but I could certainly NOT see them kissing softly and romantically wine-dining after SIX YEARS (the time those goddamn showrunners told us it took for passion to die down in a perfect marriage?? How about helltrap subway then??)
So after that really long preamble, here are my headcanons for what that subway section should really have looked like:
No Five x Lila, obviously
They bicker all the time; this escalates into outright fights. At some point, Lila storms off somewhere and they lose each other for five months.
When they realise they're not going home anytime soon, Five finds a timeline with a Dolores (other than the original one) and steals her away, because he's going to need her to cope through this. (Of course, he needs to apologize to her for being gone this long.)
At first, Lila thinks that Five is nuts for talking to Dolores, but in a matter of days she understands the urge and Dolores becomes her best friend. Five and Lila fight over Dolores's approval all. the. time.
Lila collects little trinkets to bring home to Grace and the twins (like the plushies in New Grumpson). After two years the gift bag has got way too big and Five helps her sort out the ones she really wants to keep; she bawls her eyes out and they arrange the throwaway gifts neatly on a bench, just in case they can come back and get them.
They find some really weird and fun timelines. Don't care what, they just do. Lila almost gets killed trying to bring home a souvenir.
Five and Lila find Max's Delicatessen together. By the way, there's a few Lilas there, ones that also met Fives. Lila can vent about her relationship trouble Diego with another Lila who has also married a Diego. But the other Diego is dead, and Lila realizes just how much she wants to get home before that happens.
This is a bit irrelevant, but that Five deli paradox psychosis plothole is explained by a random artefact created by Commission Five (like in his room in S3 I think?).
Five and Lila wait a short while in the deli to make a plan about the apocalypse. Another Five arrives, finds out about the marigold, and says out loud that the solution would be to erase all Hargreeves siblings from existence. A few seconds of silence, and then all the other Fives slaughter him because what kind of Five would to this to their family???? This is also one of the purposes of the deli, by the way. To make sure no Five comes out of the subway with delirious, dangerous ideas about harming their siblings.
Five and Lila realise that if Viktor can take away the marigold from people like Harlan, then he can take it away from his siblings. And what about Viktor himself? Well, Lila can mimic his powers and they can take away each other's marigold at the same time, and lose their powers just as they're done. Darn, why didn't they think of this sooner?
Lila tries to relook Five. After four or five years, he gives in, sees the end result and immediately finds a timeline with a suit to steal so as to fix this freakish mistake. He wears a hat for a while to try and hide his undercut hair.
Lila sings a lot. Five lets her, and just mumbles about her lousy tastes in music to Dolores.
Lila adopts a monstrous pet (three-headed cat? Giant bee?) for a few stops, and it mysteriously disappears at some point. Major fight ensues. Maybe this is why she leaves for a while.
In another timeline, they briefly meet a version of Diego that's not dead yet. He tries to kill them, Lila tells him that he's a great dad, he's weirded out and runs away.
Five picks up littered newspaper to see if there's anything interesting. He becomes a crossword addict. He moves to a new special interest puzzle game every few months.
After a fight, Five's big making-up strategy is to sit down next to Lila and start talking shit about the Handler. It kinda works.
I'm gonna stop here, this is already way too long. Please share your own headcanons if you have any!
I love the thought of a teenage Vander and Silco with a baby/toddler Viktor. Mainly because I'm imagining serious/important revolution plans/negotiations being interrupted because they have to take care of the baby.
For example, the pair has to stop in the middle of one of their meetings because Viktor woke up from his nap and is screaming like a banshee in the other room for food. Or, Vander is talking to a potential ally for the cause and has Viktor attached to his hip because the toddler refuses to be put down. Or, Silco has Viktor strapped to his chest while he runs errands with Sevika/Felicia around Zaun.
(I would die for a fanfic like this.)
I know! I think the idea of Vander and Silco with a young Viktor during their early revolutionary days was one of the things that really sold me on this verse.
Because while they're not completing lacking in babysitters (Benzo has been around since day one even if Silco had the Milk Leash until Viktor was weaned) there is a lot of things they kind of didn't have a choice but to have Viktor with them for. He was at furthest only a room over in all their early revolution planning because anyone they would trust with him is also in the room with them.
There would be meetings where he was in the corner playing with his toys only to interrupt by coming over to climb into one of his parents laps because he was sleepy and the meeting paused to get him settled and asleep (often in his parents lap). Times where their plans include a step where they meetup to hand Viktor from one to the other because they both need to do things that day they don't want their son around for. Times where they've had people arriving for meetings as they're getting him ready for bed for the night.
As much as possible I do think they try and just keep what they're doing going while caring for Viktor. So when he does wake up hungry, once they've got him settled and eating the meeting keeps going just with one of them helping a toddler eat. People are met with and errands are ran and Viktor is just there.
Nobody really questions it either because it's probably very common in Zaun for young children to just be with their parents while their parents go about things.
I will say with Sevika because of the age gap I think is between her and Vander/Silco she wasn't around yet when Viktor was very young (on account of being maybe 10 herself when he was born) but joined up around the time Claggor and Mylo were born (and she in her mid-teens). So while she was definitively part of "young Revolutionaries and their Toddler" the Toddler wasn't Viktor (he instead being safety in Their Child territory).
(It was already on the mental list but it is now on the physical list as well).
The Blue Glow Softens You And Me
If this looks familiar it is also on my ao3 under the same name by Lexitennant2 :)
Relationship: Jayce x Viktor
Warnings: 18+smut, most if not all are in tags but; sex, praise kink, dom/sub undertones, pwp, use of 'puppy' as term of endearment but could be interpreted another way if you really want to, I'm not here to judge
Summary:
Jayce feels dirty.
He's only known Viktor for a week now but the man is constantly in his thoughts. He wants to touch him, to bask in his partners attention and hang off his every word. He's obsessed and he thinks he'll never get a chance with Viktor but then...Viktor sees him in the shower and he sees his own wants reflected back at him.
Maybe there is hope.
Word Count: 15,189
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jayce feels dirty.
Physically , he’s still sweaty from the forge, the small towel for his face hanging limply around his neck. There’s black tingeing his fingers; could be oil from the machines or any other number of countless substances lingering in the forge. His white tank top clings to his chest and he wants to pull it off, feeling itchy from the cooling sweat, but he’s walking the halls of the academy and he can’t walk through it shirtless. It’s probably taboo that he's not in his uniform, but he forgot his change of clothes in the lab he shares with Viktor.
Which is where he’s heading now, keeping his head ducked low to ignore the stares he’s getting - some appreciative, some disgusted - and hurries his pace.
Not because he wants his clothes - well that’s not the main reason, he would love a chance to shower, the hot water hitting pleasantly sore muscles, changing into academy issued sweats so he can keep working in the lab - but because Viktor is still there.
Mentally, he’s dreamt of fucking Viktor on their work bench, the blue glow of the hextech highlighting every sharp angle of Viktor’s face, and giving him a soft ethereal glow. It kind of scares him, this wanting , he has for his partner. His science partner. He wants to bite and chew on that stupid mole that sits a little above his upper lip. He wants to lick and trace the curves of Viktor’s angled nose. Jayce wants to sit him in his lap and tear him apart, slowly. Wants to know what sounds he’d make, if he’d bite his bottom lip like he does when they’ve reached a snag in their research.
Fuck, it’s only been a week since councilor Medarda gave them their chance to stabilize the hextech. Seven days since Jayce’s ears started ringing when he registered Viktor’s excuse later in the night, after they’d finally found a way to come back down.
Oh this isn’t my bedroom.
Who fucking says that?!
Jayce had already been a little hot under the collar, the exhilaration from the weightlessness, of his Arcane dream finally, finally coming to fruition. The leftover adrenaline from getting caught outside Heimerdinger's lab.
He’d started out picturing Mel.
She was stunning. Only an idiot couldn’t see it. Her eyes were sharp but playful, her lips full. The glittering gold that shimmered on her face made her seem like a dessert, brushed with gold dust. A rich cake that Jayce wanted to try. But when his mind drifted to her waist, imagining grabbing the white fabric of her dress and bunching it up to pull it up, to reveal her to him, the waist had changed.
There was no white dress anymore, the white now the vest of the academy’s uniform. The waist was slightly larger now but still ridiculously small for who it belonged to.
Jayce hadn’t even paused with palming at his cock, which was hardening faster.
Jerking off to Viktor had made him cum so hard he saw stars.
He’d laid in his bed, in the aftermath, panting heavily and feeling like the biggest asshole in the world.
He felt guilty. He shouldn’t have even been jerking off to the councilor let alone Viktor. These were two people he knew , arguably not that well, but it was clear their future’s would become intertwined after this night.
And they had.
He doesn’t think he’s left Viktor’s side for more than a couple hours over the span of the week. They both were night owls, though Jayce at least tried to get some semblance of sleep with naps on the lab's saggy couch.
It was with sleep delirium that Jayce spent half an hour unsure if he was actually tracing Viktor’s face with his fingertips, or if he was hallucinating the entire time. Viktor never brought it up but Jayce could’ve sworn he’d felt the beginnings of stubble under his fingers; a warm cheek in his palm.
Jayce takes the towel around his neck and uses it to wipe some more sweat off his forehead. The towel is soaked in his hand and he grimaces.
Clothes bag. Shower. Something to eat. Stolen glimpses of Viktor at the chalkboard, his long fingers twirling the chalk in one hand while he leaned heavily on his cane.
Jayce pushed open the lab doors, slinging the towel on the table, wincing when it made a wet smack.
“Ah good thank you, I always thought our notes needed a biohazard intermingled with them,” Viktor says dryly, not even looking up from where he’s sitting, hunched over the lab table with notebooks strewn everywhere.
“It’s just sweat Vik,” Jayce says lightly, though he does go over and pick up the towel again, spinning in a half circle to figure out where to put it. He should’ve just left it at the forge. They had a basket for used towels there but Jayce had wanted it for the walk over.
Viktor lifts his head up and raises an eyebrow.
He looks Jayce up and down, sending a fire straight to Jayce’s groin and he has to think of naked Councilor Hoskel to stamp down anything stirring downstairs.
“Yes well, your sweat just got several pages wet,” Viktor says, licking his lips and looking at the papers that indeed have a wet splotch on them.
“Shit were they important?” Jayce asks, deciding to just drop the towel - he’ll deal with it later - and walks over to scoop the papers up.
Viktor waves a dismissive hand and sighs.
“No, no. Just more useless equations that make me question if I ever knew math in the first place.”
Jayce sets the papers down in a neat pile and rounds the table to stand behind Viktor. He doesn’t really think much of his actions as he puts both hands on Viktor’s shoulders and gives them a harsh squeeze.
Viktor tenses under his touch and lets out a slow breath.
“How long have you been working at it? Since I left for the forge?” Jayce asks, bending over Viktor so he can get a better view of what his partner is working on. The back of Viktor’s head is now pressing against Jayce’s chest but for once he’s not focusing on all the places their bodies are touching. He’s more focused on trying to remember when the last time he saw Viktor take a break was. The other scientist was always pushing himself to the brink and it was up to Jayce to reel him back.
Viktor seemed to forget he was only human.
“Yes,” Viktor says, his voice sounding oddly choked to Jayce’s ears and he gives Viktor’s shoulders another squeeze.
“You feeling ok V? You know if you work yourself too much you’ll get sick,” Jayce says, worry in his tone as he takes one of his hands off Viktor’s shoulder so he can put the back of it against Viktor’s forehead.
“You don’t feel that hot,” he mutters out loud and Viktor shudders against him.
Jayce is suddenly aware of how he’s looming over Viktor and he pulls away reluctantly, giving Viktor space.
“Right well, I’m going to quickly shower and get changed, in the mean-time think about what you want for dinner. We can order in.”
Jayce is half-way across the room by the end of his sentence, his heart beating fast and his ears starting to get hot with embarrassment. He locates his duffle bag under a chair and heads off to the decontamination showers.
After the stabilization of the hextech, Viktor and Jayce had been given one of the larger labs in the academy. It was meant for practice labs with up to ten students so it was quite large and had its own decontamination suite. There had been some changes made since it was only two men working there instead of a class, but there were still a few showers and sinks for safety reasons.
Jayce threw his duffle bag onto a bench and started stripping off his clothing, letting it all pile onto the bench next to the duffle.
“Jayce, do you think you could-”
Jayce stops himself from turning around fully by just a hair and looks over his shoulder.
Viktor is standing in the doorway, his eyes widening in shock.
“That was fast,” he murmurs, his eyes staying level with Jayce’s upper back
Jayce feels the heat from his ears traveling down to his cheeks. He coughs, awkwardly, wanting to shield himself. Another part of him wants to present himself to Viktor instead. He knows he’s good looking, he’s not arrogant but he’s not stupid either. But he’s not just going to flash Viktor just because the other scientist is eyeing him like he’s something to eat-
Wait.
Viktor is leaning against the doorway now, his eyes at half-mast, his bottom lip between his teeth. He’s looking up at Jayce through long eyelashes, a soft blush to his cheeks.
“Do you think I could what?” Jayce asks, his voice hoarse as he keeps his body tilted away from Viktor’s stare, his neck straining from how far he's looking over his shoulder.
Viktor holds up the fucking sweaty towel in his hand, his grip on it tight enough that Jayce can see the whites of his knuckles.
“There’s a laundry basket in here,” Viktor says, adjusting his stance against the doorway.
“Figured this was the best place for it,” he says, clearing his throat and tossing the towel at Jayce who whirls around to catch it, realizing his mistake at the last minute. He tries to shield himself but he over-corrects and his feet are sliding on the tiles. He lands on his stomach and a whoosh of air rushes out of him.
“Fuck, Jayce are you ok?” He hears Viktor ask and tentative steps of Viktor’s loafers hitting the tile.
“Never fucking better,” Jayce says into the floor, letting out a low groan and turning his head so his face isn’t smushed into the floor anymore.
“You were airborne,” Viktor teases, crouching down carefully by Jayce’s face.
“Just leave me here,” Jayce whines, his knee starting to ache from the fall.
He feels long fingers moving through his short hair and he squints up at Viktor.
“We can do something eh, simple for dinner. The fish place outside the university?” Viktor asks and Jayce does his best to nod as he melts under Viktor’s touch.
“Go take a shower then, you reek,” Viktor’s nose twitches and he pushes off the floor. It’s clunky and there’s a wince on his face as he relies heavily on his crutch, but today has to be one of the better days that he even entertained the idea of squatting for less than a minute. Jayce waits until Viktor is officially gone before he heaves himself off the floor and glares at the offending sweaty towel.
He picks it up and tosses it in the laundry hamper and stomps over to the showers.
He doesn’t even wait for the shower to get lukewarm before he’s under it’s spray, wanting to wash away the embarrassment of that moment.
Viktor’s face flashes behind his eyelids and he rests his forehead against the tiled wall.
The way Viktor had been staring at him had been hungry. He had been looking at Jayce like he had wanted him.
Fuck, that couldn’t be right could it?
He hits his head softly against the tiles, trying to shake that image out of of his head but it’s unmistakable.
Jayce reaches blindly for the soap dispenser and gets a good handful before slathering it all over himself.
He needs to think of something else, anything else.
Viktor’s plush bottom lip with the imprint of his slightly crooked canine; eyelashes long and thick over doe shaped eyes, a warm chocolate color; bitable cheeks a pretty pink.
Jayce can’t help the groan that escapes his lips as he feels himself hardening.
If Jayce had approached Viktor would the other man have stayed put? Would he have let Jayce push his naked body against him, pinning the slighter man against the doorway. Jayce’s hand moves down his stomach to his hardening cock. He gives it a rough stroke, shifting on his feet as the heat in his stomach pools lower and lower.
He growls in frustration and reaches for the shower knobs. He twists the cold all the way to the left and lets out a yelp as icy cold water blasts him directly in the face. It’s pleasant to his burning skin for a few seconds and then he’s dancing in place as he freezes his ass off.
Jayce finishes his shower, properly, with lukewarm water and washes his hair as well.
When he finally dries off and has his sweats on, Viktor’s already sitting on their lumpy couch, a take-out menu in his lap and a pencil tapping against his bottom lip.
“The fish place is closed, apparently there was a robbery and several people were killed,” Viktor says and Jayce stumbles to a stop.
“Oh my god, what? How have we not- oh very funny,” Jayce huffs, crossing his arms over his chest as Viktor lets out a chuckle.
“Relax Jayce, they just aren’t open on Tuesdays,” he says and pats the space on the sofa beside him.
Jayce flops onto it dramatically and lets his shoulder rest against Viktor’s.
“Your sense of humor is lacking,” he says and grabs the takeout menu out of Viktor’s hand.
“Sushi? Seriously Vik,” Jayce scoffs, eyeing the menu with distaste.
Cooked fish was bad enough but raw?
He could already sense the puppy dog eyes from a mile away so he stubbornly reads the item description for one of the foods.
Caviar, cream cheese, eel sauce -
“Please Jayce, you know how the upper city food makes my stomach upset,” Viktor pleads and Jayce rolls his eyes.
“Yeah, that’s why you can plow through enough sweetcakes for a man twice your size,” he says and Viktor nudges his shoulder sharply.
“Jayce,” He whines, and it’s not sexual. It’s not , but Jayce has been finding it harder and harder to not lump his lab partner and carnal thoughts together. Especially after not getting off in the shower.
“Sure, ok,” he huffs and drops the menu in Viktor’s lap, getting off the couch so he can take a moment and breathe.
“They have other food options,” Viktor says, his voice laced with uncertainty.
Jayce can hear him flipping through the pages of the menu, and Viktor starts to ramble.
“There see! They have noodles and rice, that spicy chicken dish you like. We don’t actually have to get anything from here if you don’t actually want to-”
“Viktor it’s fine,” Jayce says and goes back to sit next to Viktor.
“It doesn’t seem fine,” Viktor says softly and Jayce wants to smack himself in the face.
He’s pretty sure he’s the only one who can get Viktor to second guess himself. It’s not a power he likes to wield, it makes him feel guilty that Viktor seeks his approval.
“I had a long day,” Jayce says as an excuse and Viktor makes an ahh sound.
“Did you meet with councilor Medarda again?” Viktor asks and uses his pencil to start filling out his order.
“Huh?”
Viktor puts a checkmark next to some salmon sushi before he speaks.
“She’s a very beautiful woman Jayce, it didn’t escape my notice how you looked at her,” he says.
But you’ve missed how I look at you every time, Jayce thinks.
“Viktor, come on,” he says and feels Viktor shrug against his shoulder.
They sit in silence as Viktor hands over the pencil and menu to Jayce. He flips to the back to the cooked food options that he can stomach. He knows sushi is the closest thing Piltover has to what Zaun eats but he doesn’t like fish. Raw especially makes his mouth pucker and he wants to gag it up. He’s eaten it before to humor Viktor but Viktor put a stop to that once he realized just how badly Jayce disliked the food. They only got fish or sushi when Viktor was really craving it, and the place had other foods Jayce could get.
He scratches haphazardly at the box next to the spicy teriyaki chicken and ponders over rice or noodles when Viktor speaks, breaking the silence.
“Do you find her beautiful?”
Jayce tenses and stares intensely at the menu.
“Do you?” he asks, tapping the rice and the noodle option, back and forth, hesitating on which one to go for.
“As much as anyone else,” Viktor says, his answer hesitant.
Jayce isn’t expecting that and he looks up from the menu finally to look at Viktor.
“So that’s a yes then?” Jayce asks and can’t help but let disappointment settle in his chest. Which is hypocritical of him seeing as he’s had dreams about Mel.
“Eh…” Viktor trails off and won’t meet Jayce’s eye which makes Jayce feel confused and almost a little hopeful.
He decides to extend an olive branch, provoked by the earlier moment when Viktor had stared at his naked back.
“She is really beautiful but she’s not who I’m interested in.”
And fuck that was too much. He doesn’t mean to word it like that and he prays Viktor doesn’t pick up on it but it’s Viktor.
Viktor cocks his head to the side, causing some of his hair to fall in his face and Jayce resists the urge to brush it back. To tuck it neatly behind Viktor’s ear.
“There’s someone you’re interested in now?” he asks, his voice low and rumbly. There’s a look in his eyes that Jayce can’t grasp and he feels a strange tension in the air.
“Um…maybe?” he says, his voice squeaking at the end.
“You haven’t said anything,” Viktor says and there’s a slight hardness in his tone that has Jayce wanting to sink to his knees.
He’s never seen Viktor like this before.
He should probably be getting annoyed. They’ve known each other for a week, Jayce didn’t owe Viktor anything. If he was actually interested in anyone else it wasn’t like it was Viktor’s business, but Jayce liked this side of Viktor. It was almost like he was jealous.
Viktor’s leaning closer in his space now and Jayce leans back.
He’s aware of the couch digging into his back, of Viktor’s hand resting in between the space between their thighs, his long fingers almost touching Jayce.
There’s a knock at the door and they both flinch and sit further apart.
“Come in!” Jayce calls, clearing his throat.
Sky stumbles in, a pile of folders in her arms.
“I’m so sorry about this but Heimerdinger wanted me to drop this off before I go home.” She waves the folders at them earnestly and Jayce gets up with a sigh.
Probably more legal shit they needed to sign.
He takes the folders gently from her and rolls his eyes internally as he reads the first few lines of the top folder.
It is more legal papers. The council sends it to the older yordle and then Jayce and Viktor receive it. Godsforbid either of them actually be involved in the rules and regulations of their own research and invention/
“Um, it is getting late,” Sky says shyly and Jayce looks up at her but her gaze is focused on Viktor.
“Did you have any dinner plans?” she asks Viktor, her tone hopeful.
Jayce feels his blood freeze.
“Actually, he’s coming by my place for dinner,” the lie comes out smoothly and Sky’s eyes widen and she puts up a small smile but Jayce can see she’s disappointed.
“Oh ok, maybe next time?” she asks, and Viktor softly replies, “next time.”
That has her spirits up again and she leaves the room with a cheerful goodbye and that she’ll see them in the morning.
Jayce picks up the menu again and selects the noodles.
“I’ll go and give this to Callisto and they’ll pick-up the order for us-”
“What was that?” Viktor interrupts, his voice deceptively casual.
Jayce clenches the menu tighter in his hand.
“You getting hard of hearing V? I said I’ll go and give-”
“Don’t be obtuse Jayce,” Viktor snaps and he’s standing up now. The crutch stays tucked tightly under his arm as he walks the few steps to stand before Jayce.
“You just lied to Sky.”
Jayce scratches the back of his neck nervously.
“You don’t want her to think that we live in the lab do you Vik? Like bats? Lab bats,” he chuckles at his own stupid joke but it dies down quickly as Viktor stares up at him.
“Jayce,” Viktor says, his voice low again and Jayce can’t take it.
“I’m going to give this to Callisto!” he says, his words rushed and walks calmly out of the room.
That’s a lie.
He speed-walks, attempting to appear casual but he hears Viktor call out after him and he all but sprints to get out of there.
His clothes feel tight and he’s getting sweaty again, but he manages to calm down when he gets to Callisto.
They’re standing at their usual booth and accept the takeout menu and charge Jayce’s student account. They say the food will be ready in forty minutes and Jayce keeps a hysterical giggle from escaping.
Forty minutes, there’s no way I can avoid Viktor for that long, he thinks to himself. He lingers outside for the booth, long enough that Callisto is eyeing him weirdly, so he finally leaves and heads to the lab. He realizes he's left the pencil at the booth downstairs but he decides against wasting time to get it, he needs to just face the music.
When he lets himself in, Viktor is waiting.
He pushes Jayce against the doors as they shut with a click.
Viktor isn’t the strongest, but he’s caught Jayce off guard. He keeps his hand spread flat against Jayce's chest and stares up at him defiantly.
“Talk. Talis.”
The words are clipped and harsh.
“Viktor please,” he says and he doesn’t know what he’s pleading with Viktor not to do.
There’s a line they’re about to cross, Jayce can feel it. They have the potential to be great partners, no matter what kind, but Jayce has been too scared to take that step further. To solidify what direction and what type of partners they will be.
He wants Viktor as a friend but he also wants him as so much more.
It’s probably insane given their short time together but Jayce is certain of this. He doesn’t half-ass things, he dives head first but he’s been hesitant because he hasn’t been able to get a good read on Viktor. They’re learning each other surprisingly fast but not fast enough for Jayce to know where Viktor stands.
Until today.
Until earlier when Jayce saw his own hunger reflected back at him in Viktor’s eyes.
“Who are you interested in?” The hand presses harder against his chest and Viktor leans up slightly, making Jayce take some of his weight.
Jayce swallows hard.
“If it’s not Medarda is it…is it Sky?”
Viktor looks unsure now, no longer determined and confident. He blinks rapidly like he’s trying to gather his thoughts and then he’s wincing.
“Oh shit it is Sky isn’t it, Jayce I’m sorry-”
Jayce doesn’t let him finish. He presses his lips harshly against Viktor’s. He wants to be gentle but he misjudges how close they are and his own eagerness.
He knows where Viktor is getting the idea from, he thinks because Jayce lied it was to stop Sky from having dinner with Viktor because Jayce wants Sky. But it’s the opposite. Jayce wants Viktor.
He will always want Viktor.
It seems to click in Viktor’s mind as he lets out a soft moan and he starts kissing Jayce back.
His lips are slightly chapped and have grooves where he’s bitten the skin off, but there’s soft patches too and the juxtaposition is driving Jayce wild.
He breathes in heavily through his nose, stubbornly not wanting to take his lips off of Viktor’s now that he has him like this.
The hand on Jayce’s chest closes around the fabric of his sweatshirt, holding on for dear life it seems. He hears the distinct ting of the metal crutch hitting the floor and then Viktor’s body weight is leaning fully on him, his other arm snaking up to cup the back of Jayce’s head, a pillow between the door and Jayce’s head.
Jayce holds Viktor around his waist to support him, one hand staying firmly locked around the man while the other dips down to rest partially on Viktor’s ass.
Jayce licks at Viktor’s lips, pleadingly.
Viktor moans again, pressing closer and opens his mouth.
He tastes sweet and bitter. Like black tea and honey, coffee and cream. Jayce doesn’t know if it’s just his taste or whether there’s a mug of sweetmilk lying around somewhere but he doesn’t care. He wants more, no, needs more.
He let’s his tongue take over. It’s like he’s a desperate man searching for a drop of water in the middle of the desert. His tongue nudges at Viktor’s, wanting a response. When Viktor hesitantly greets Jayce’s tongue with his own Jayce let’s out a low moan. He suckles at Viktor’s tongue until they both pull apart.
They’re panting heavily, their chests raising and falling together.
Viktor has drool in the corner of his mouth. Without thinking, Jayce leans in and laps it up.
Viktor lets out a whine and Jayce feels heat rush straight to his dick.
“Not…Sky then,” Viktor huffs out, letting his hands move to Jayce’s shoulders.
“Not Sky. Only you,” Jayce says and Viktor smiles so wide that Jayce feels like he’s staring at the sun.
He leans forward and nips lightly at the mole above Viktor’s lip just because he can .
Viktor let’s out a disbelieving laugh that’s mixed with amusement.
“How long have you been waiting to do that?” he practically purrs, his slender hand coming up to cradle Jayce’s cheek.
Jayce shyly looks away and Viktor adjusts his hold so he can grab part of Jayce’s chin and make him look back at Viktor.
“I’ve seen you looking at me, hard not to with all the time we’ve spent together. You’re not subtle Mr. Talis,” Viktor says, pulling Jayce in for another kiss.
So he has noticed, Jayce thinks, feeling giddy.
This one is slower, more dragged out, but it doesn’t lack any of the heat or passion of their earlier kiss. Jayce tightens his grip around Viktor and starts to walk them back towards where the couch is.
“How could I not look at you,” Jayce mumbles against Viktor’s lips.
It’s a little awkward with Jayce having to support most of Viktor’s weight and he’s not exactly paying attention to where he’s walking, he’s just aiming for the general idea of where he thinks the couch is.
Viktor let’s out an oomph as they walk straight into a table.
“Maybe open your eyes puppy,” Viktor says and gently taps Jayce’s cheek. Jayce sheepishly blinks them open and carefully walks them over to the couch.
He lays Viktor down, making sure his bad leg is stretched out on the couch. He kneels in between Viktor’s legs and Viktor’s good leg hooks around his waist as he settles down over Viktor. He uses one elbow and forearm to prop himself up, his hand by Viktor’s head, as the other hand wraps around Viktor’s arm.
“Good boy,” Viktor whispers, pushing up his pelvis to meet Jayce’s.
Jayce whines, hiding his face in Viktor’s neck as the slender man wraps an arm around Jayce’s back to bring their bodies closer together.
“See how you make me feel Jayce? Feel how hard I am?” Viktor says harshly into his ear as he thrusts up again.
Jayce nods fast, attaching his lips to Viktor’s exposed neck.
Viktor shudders under him and tilts his head up so more of his neck is available for Jayce.
Jayce is greedy now that he can touch Viktor. He sucks and licks, trying to leave as many marks as possible. He discovers another mole, one hidden usually by Viktor’s high collars and cravat. He’s not wearing a cravat today and his top button is undone so Jayce has easy access. He nips at the mole, giving it the same treatment as the one on his partner's cheek.
“Gotta get this off of you,” he mutters, slipping the hand not supporting him down between their bodies so he can untuck Viktor’s shirt out of his pants.
“Impatient,” Viktor says with amusement, turning his head to kiss Jayce’s knuckles.
“You have to remove my vest first,” he says and raises an eyebrow when Jayce pauses his frustrated searching for skin under Viktor’s white button-up.
“Um, right,” he says and shakily pulls away from Viktor, sitting back on his heels. He doesn’t want to be away from Viktor for too long but he needs their clothes off faster. He starts unbuttoning Viktor’s vest and sneaks glances up at the shorter man.
Viktor is looking up at him, his mouth slightly parted and his cheeks flushed. His hair spreads out against the arm of the couch and some shorter strands have fallen forward, just shy of covering his eyes.
Jayce reaches up and brushes them away, letting out a sigh when Viktor hums contently and nuzzles into Jayce’s touch.
“Look at you,” Jayce whispers and Viktor’s eyes flash in the dim lighting of the lab.
“You can do more than that,” Viktor says earnestly.
He tilts his head up and takes Jayce’s thumb into his mouth.
Jayce blanks out, his other hand clenching down on Viktor’s vest as he watches Viktor start to suck on his thumb.
Viktor’s mouth is a furnace, his tongue soft and silky, catching on the rough pad of Jayce’s thumb.
Jayce is pretty sure all his blood has gone to his dick as he watches Viktor’s cheeks hollow out, his eyes fluttering, and he starts to feel light-headed.
Viktor pulls off with a pop , looking utterly blissed out.
“Hurry up,” he commands. It’s soft but definitely an order and Jayce goes back to the last two vest buttons. He helps Viktor wiggle out of the vest and then practically rips Viktor out of his button-up, his patience running thin.
He’s covered in moles.
Jayce really needs to figure out what his obsession is with the man's moles but he’ll deal with that later. He takes off his own sweatshirt and preens at how Viktor looks at him. It seems like Viktor can’t settle on where to look for long, his eyes bouncing from Jayce’s pecs, to his arms, to his stomach.
There he feels a little self-conscious and struggles to not cover himself.
He’s fairly muscled, his years in the forge making his body chiseled but he’s always had a layer of soft fat that doesn’t seem to go away. No one’s ever complained about his stomach before and it’s not like he’s fat, but the v of his hips are not flat and he is able to pinch his stomach and hold some of it in his fingers.
Viktor on the other hand is slender and lithe. His arms have some muscle built up from having to support himself and he’s not underweight but Jayce can see the shape of his ribs. He shifts under Jayce’s gaze and Jayce tracks the movements of his muscles, the flex of his stomach and the soft shudder that wracks his body.
“Are you just going to stare at me all day?” Viktor asks. He’s not looking at Jayce now, instead looking at the back of the couch where his fingers are twisting and pulling at a string that’s come undone from the backing.
He sounds defensive and Jayce hurries to remedy the doubt that seems to have crept up between them.
“I can’t help it V. I’ve wanted you since the moment I saw you, and now you’re here and your m-mine.”
He can’t help but stutter over his words because is Viktor really his? Could Viktor possibly crave him as much as Jayce wants him to? Call him a helpless romantic but when he’s pictured himself in a relationship he wants it all; he wants to walk down the streets with Viktor’s hand in his. He wants to argue about how hot or cold they need to keep their bedroom. He wants to bring him over to Caitlyn’s and have a family dinner, he wants Viktor to meet his mother and have her fuss over him. He wants to know every crack and crevice in Viktor’s body and his mind. He wants to be known too. He wants the knowing looks they’re already sharing to blossom fully. Viktor already knows his coffee order and he’s already cataloged every micro expression Viktor has when he’s irritated or annoyed.
Something must show on his face because Viktor’s face softens and he sits up, unraveling his leg from around Jayce.
He pushes at Jayce until he has him sitting how he wants and then he sits down on his lap.
Jayce tries to protest but Viktor waves him off.
“If my leg starts bothering me I’ll let you know,” he says firmly and cups Jayce’s cheeks in his slender hands.
“We should talk about this, what this means for us,” he says, removing one hand so he can motion between them and then puts it back.
Jayce swallows, his head a little foggy with how their dicks are pressed against each other even closer than before. Viktor seems to sense this and moves his hips back a little but not too far because Jayce’s hands quickly grab onto his hips to keep him there.
It’s torture but he knows he’ll lose his mind even more if Viktor moves too far away.
“I think I’ve done most of the talking so far,” Jayce says, squeezing Viktor’s hips.
Viktor sighs and drops his hands from Jayce’s cheeks. They fall into their laps and Viktor starts playing with the strings of Jayce’s sweatpants, keeping a careful distance from Jayce’s straining cock.
His knuckles keep brushing against Jayce’s stomach though and he’s having a hard time concentrating.
“Vitya, ” he pleads, the name falling out from his lips and Viktor inhales harshly.
“I will not be some…notch on a bedpost yes? I believe that’s the saying,” Viktor says, his nose scrunching in distaste and Jayce remembers how thrilled Viktor had been when he’d learned about ‘crank it’. He thinks about those other students and the lockers he’s punched, overhearing how they talk about his partner, like he’s an object and not a person.
“I don’t believe you’re like that, you don’t think of me as some fetish, some new thing to fuck and add to a tally of life experiences,” Viktor snarls out and Jayce knows the anger isn’t directed towards him, it’s towards the whispers he must’ve heard ever since he stepped foot into the academy.
“But that doesn’t mean I don’t still fall into a one night stand category,” he says, and Jayce squeezes his hips encouragingly when it looks like he’s not done speaking but he’s been silent for a minute.
“If we do this, we can’t pretend this never happened. I can’t pretend.” Viktor stresses, his hands moving from the strings to rest firmly against Jayce’s stomach. He jolts at the coolness meeting his heated flesh and Viktor waits, the question unspoken but hanging in the air.
But it’s not even a question because now that Jayce has him, he’s never letting go.
Even if one day Viktor turns into some mad scientist or decides to start wearing dresses, Jayce would follow him into eternity.
His mind halts on the image of Viktor in a dress, one of the clingy ones that councilor Medarda wears that show off her legs…
Viktor clears his throat and Jayce comes back to reality, realizing his nails are digging into Viktor’s hips.
“That’s a lot of thinking going on in that pretty head of yours Jayce,” Viktor says, pointedly looking at Jayce’s hands on his hips.
He eases his grip, apologizing.
“I can be intense,” he starts out and Viktor gives him a ‘yeah-duh’ look and he scrambles to get the rest of the words out. “When I like someone I give them my all. My mom says I wear my heart on my sleeve, so all this that we’re doing together, it’s because I want all of you Viktor, and I want you to have all of me .”” Viktor looks at him like a deer in headlights, like he’s stunned by the possibility.
That Jayce could want him so badly that it hurts.
“I’m obsessed with you V. You say you’ve seen me watching you in the lab yet you look surprised,” Jayce says gently and Viktor leans forward, digging his hands into Jayce’s stomach. He looks like a bird, studying its prey. He’s got a calculated look on his face like he’s analyzing Jayce.
Jayce can’t resist and leans up to meet him, licking at his nose.
Viktor sputters as Jayce’s tongue traces over the curves of his aquiline nose.
“You really are like a fucking puppy,” Viktor says, swatting Jayce’s face away so he can rub the saliva off his nose.
Jayce sits back feeling proud of himself. That’s two fantasies he’s completed in the short amount of time they’ve been together. Which reminds him, the food.
“We have about twenty more minutes,” he says, looking at the clock on the wall behind Viktor, bouncing his knee so Viktor will pay attention to him again. Viktor slides down so their crotches are pressed against each other again, as Jayce’s leg dislodges him from where he was sitting. Jayce drums his fingers against Viktor’s hips and looks at him adoringly.
“I want our first time to be in bed,” he says shyly and Viktor’s smile is perfect. Crooked and small but still one of the best things Jayce has seen. Second only to the Arcane.
“I’m sure there are other…activities we can familiarize ourselves with,” Viktor says cheekily, the heel of his palm moving from his stomach to his cock, Viktor’s touch sending a bolt of pleasure through Jayce.
“Yeah. Definitely,” he pants out and surges forward to kiss Viktor again.
Jayce finds himself losing himself in the kiss again, the world around them turning sluggish. He tries to keep his touch light but Viktor protests at every turn, shoving his lips harder against Jayce’s, grabbing Jayce’s larger hands and pressing them into his waist.
Jayce knows Viktor’s not a doll and would hate to be treated as such, but Jayce can’t help it.
Viktor huffs in frustration, momentarily breaking their kiss when Jayce once again meets Viktor’s thrust but with a subdued passion. It’s taking everything in him not to just toss Viktor over one shoulder and have him against one of the lab tables or the workbench.
“Jayce,” Viktor says quietly, a warning in his tone.
Jayce can sense where this is going and he sighs and wraps his hand around the entire circumference of Viktor’s wrist.
“I know I won’t break you V but don’t you want me to be gentle?” he asks. Maybe it’s only because he’s been with girls before and there were certain expectations with how rough he could be. He liked it too, being gentle with them and getting to cradle them and draw low moans from their throats. The pressure just shy of too hard only when he started rubbing circles into their heat.
But maybe it needed to be different with Viktor.
“How about you tell me what to do,” he says eagerly, before Viktor can say anything.
Viktor looks at him, considering what he’s said.
“You want me…in control.” He says it as a statement and not a question but Jayce nods.
“Sex is a learning curve and I’ve always been a fast learner,” Jayce teases, flushing when he sees how interested Viktor looks now.
“We can work with that,” Viktor says softly and then starts to get up, pulling a whine from Jayce.
“Ah-ah-ah,” He tuts, shaking a finger at Jayce.
“If I’m in control of this then we’re putting me fully in control. If you don’t like something, tap my arm three times, or if you’re able to speak then say…” Viktor trails off looking at Jayce expectantly.
Jayce’s head is already in the clouds at the implications of what Viktor is suggesting. His partner seems more confident now, like he’s slipping into a role Jayce only really sees when he’s deep in the throes of his work. His tongue feels heavy in his mouth as he looks up at Viktor.
“A safe word Jayce,” Viktor prods gently.
“Um right…” Jayce says as his mind rushes a mile a minute.
Fuck he needs a safe word? Ok something cool, something not embarrassing
“Sushi,” he says and then stares at his hands in abject horror.
Sushi is what he’s going with?!
“At least it’s not your own name,” Viktor smirks, standing in between Jayce’s spread legs and tilting his chin up with a finger. “That’d be even more egotistical than signing every page in your notebook.”
Jayce huffs, willing the urge to stomp his foot, like a child, to go away.
“It was just one notebook,” he pouts.
Viktor raises an eyebrow.
“Ok a few of them and really it’s smart ok. Especially after we’ve created the hextech together I mean, anyone could have found my notes and done who knows what with them,” he says defensively.
“Of course baby,” Viktor says, brushing his hand through Jayce’s hair.
There’s a curl of something in Jayce’s stomach as he realizes there’s no mocking in Viktor’s tone. It’s not sarcastic or teasing, he’s just being comforting.
“Right well…what do you want me to do?” he asks, his throat feeling thick like he’s about to cry.
“You want to be such a good boy for me don’t you,” Viktor says, the hand leaving Jayce’s hair to cradle his jaw.
“Yes,” Jayce breathes out, surprised he isn’t stammering.
“You always make sure I’m taken care of, what’s one more chance for you to do the same here hmm? Do you want to make me feel good Jayce?”
Jayce nods and there’s now a finger prodding at his lower lip. He opens his mouth to let the finger in but it barely goes in, staying teasingly just out of reach, barely pressing against his teeth.
“Take off your pants,” Viktor says and steps away, giving Jayce more than enough space.
He hurriedly unties the strings to his sweatpants before realizing he needs to take his boots off. He toes them off with haste and shimmies the pants down, cantering his hips upward with a grunt so they’ll slide off faster. He leans over to pull off his socks and then sits there in just his underwear. His fingers rest on the waistband but Viktor makes a soft noise and Jayce looks up.
“Stand up.”
Jayce does so, trying not to seem too eager. He’s aware of how hard his cock is straining in his briefs, leaving not much to the imagination.
Viktor steps up to him and trails a finger over his clothed cock. He inhales sharply and tries not to buck under Viktor’s wandering fingertips.
“Look how hard you are already,” Viktor says, the palm of his hand working gently against Jayce’s cock. He can feel it getting heavier, the ache getting stronger. If Viktor keeps this up Jayce fears he’s going to cum in his underwear like he’s a teenager all over again. He tries to see how hard Viktor is but Viktor’s pants are a darker brown than his and he can’t really discern the shape really well.
“Can I touch you?” Jayce asks and Viktor shakes his head.
“Not yet,” he says completely composed and Jayce wonders how he can be so calm right now while Jayce is short-circuiting like faulty wiring. The hand on his cock slides upwards to the waistband of his briefs and Viktor slowly pulls them down, revealing red and angry lines where the waistband has dug into his skin.
Viktor hisses in sympathy, rubbing at the sore spots with such tenderness the urge to cry is back again.
“I’m getting you a new pair,” he says though it sounds more like he’s talking to himself out loud rather than to Jayce.
He motions for Jayce to pull his underwear down the rest of the way and he wastes no time doing so.
He’s now completely bare in front of his Viktor.
It’s oddly thrilling to be looked at like this. Normally he’s the one undressing the women in front of him, taking time to delicately undo their corsets and peel away their lacey underwear. But now he’s the one undressed and standing before Viktor. He puffs up his chest, can’t help but pose a little.
Viktor smiles, noticing what he’s doing and exhales softly.
“My man of progress,” he says softly.
Jayce’s dick twitches a little and he groans, which makes Viktor take that final step to press himself against Jayce.
Jayce’s hands move of their own accord, trying to grab the fabric of Viktor’s pants so he can pull them off, but Viktor shakes his head softly and grabs both of Jayce’s wrists in each hand.
Jayce knows he can change their positions easily. Even if Viktor tried to put force on his grip, years of the forge and Jayce’s own size would easily overpower Viktor. But Jayce lets him maneuver his arms so they hang at his side. Their chests rise and fall together and Viktor releases Jayce’s arms, giving an unspoken command for Jayce not to move.
He moves his hands slowly across Jayce’s torso. His fingers slide over collarbones and flex over Jayce’s pecs. He’s like a canvas, Viktor’s fingers the paintbrush. Viktor takes his time, learning every curve and dip of Jayce’s exposed chest. His fingers linger in space between Jayce’s chest and stomach, his diaphragm, and then his left hand lays flat there while the right continues its tortuous path. His body shivers and Viktor’s left hand drifts down to Jayce’s stomach.
Jayce feels self-conscious again with the attention Viktor is focusing on his stomach. His cock is leaking precum, looking red and eager for Viktor to pay it attention where it curves up, but Viktor pays it no mind.
The right hand joins its partner on Jayce’s stomach and Viktor gives Jayce’s stomach a soft squeeze and Jayce lets out a squeak.
“Viktor,” he admonishes, but Viktor pays no heed to his harsher tone, leaning up to nip his lower lip.
“I plan to worship all of you Jayce, that’s what will please me I’ve decided,” he says, his breath hot against Jayce’s mouth.
“And for me to do that I need to appreciate all of you, will you let me do that? You want to be good for me don’t you?” he says hotly and starts kissing Jayce in earnest.
A whine, high-pitched and needy is pulled out of Jayce’s chest and escapes his mouth without thought. He didn’t think he could make those sounds.
Viktor’s cool skin is starting to get warmer, but nothing can match the burning Jayce is feeling from within.
He’s being led back to the couch, the back of his calves hitting the low couch making him stumble. He lands on his ass and he takes a minute to catch his breath as Viktor stands above him.
The lab lighting doesn’t do him justice but he’s still gorgeous. His hair frames his red face, his upper body getting a light flush as well. There’s a mark on his neck from where Jayce had sucked and he’s pleased with himself. He wants to mark Viktor more.
“Hand me that pillow,” Viktor commands, pointing to a square plush purple one. Jayce hastily grabs it and offers it up.
Viktor puts it down at Jayce’s feet and carefully kneels on it.
Jayce has a brief moment to wonder where Viktor’s crutch is, in case he needs it anytime soon, but then Viktor’s hands are on his ankles and slowly trailing upwards in deep caress and he loses his senses again.
Viktor doesn’t so much dig into his legs as almost caress them with a reverence Jayce never would’ve expected.
Jayce can’t really see his face but he can for sure feel him, his nose dragging along Jayce’s calf, his mouth leaving the barest of kisses; butterfly kisses. His thumbs rub mirroring circles on Jayce’s ankle bones between each kiss. His hair is all Jayce can see until he starts to move upwards.
“Such a pretty boy, my Jayce,” Viktor purrs, his accent sounding thicker to Jayce’s ears. When he reaches Jayce’s knees he gives them two soft kisses on each one. He taps the inside of Jayce’s left knee and Jayce hesitates before lifting it. Viktor presses in closer, moving Jayce’s left leg up further so it hooks over his shoulder. He starts leaving open mouthed kisses against the soft skin of Jayce’s inner thigh. Starting at the top of the thigh and working his way up.
Jayce feels like his heart is going to beat out of his chest. He’s starting to pant again, groaning with each gentle lick Viktor administers to his inner thigh. Viktor squeezes his right knee, the fingers actually digging in this time as he bites down on Jayce’s inner thigh.
Jayce lets out a yelp and shudders. He doesn’t know what to do with his hands, he wants them on Viktor so badly. They are basically one with the couch cushions with how hard he’s clenching them, gripping them like a lifeline as Viktor licks at the bite, soothing it.
He taps the right inner knee and Jayce raises an eyebrow.
“Are you sure?” he pants out and Viktor looks up at him with dark brown eyes, the pupils almost taking up the entire irises.
“Move Jayce,” he says and as soon as Jayce has his other leg over his shoulder he moves swiftly, attaching his lips and giving the right inner thigh the same treatment as the left. His hands hold onto the outer sides of Jayce’s thighs, keeping them spread open to his liking.
It could’ve been hours, or it could have been minutes, but Jayce loses track of time until he is brought back to awareness by Viktor nuzzling his nose deep into the space where his pelvis and leg connect. He was right there, but he expertly avoids touching Jayce’s cock, only his hair brushing against the underside making Jayce tremble and grab the cushions harder.
“Please,” he whimpers, not knowing what he’s asking for.
Viktor huffs and gently kisses the spot before leaning up more so he can rest his chin on Jayce’s stomach.
“Do you know how beautiful you are?” Viktor whispers, his gaze adoring.
Jayce bites his lip and Viktor watches the motion with an intensity that has Jayce almost cumming on the spot.
Viktor trades bites and kisses across the supple flesh of Jayces stomach, paying the most attention to the rolls that have formed because of how Jayce is sitting. His nose dips into every crevice.
He pauses his ministrations, flinching and trying to hide it by resuming his kisses but Jayce never misses any of Viktor’s motions, he’s attuned to them. He could also feel the flex of Viktor’s hands on his thighs.
“What’s wrong? Your leg?” he asks, licking his dry lips.
He’s guessed right judging by how irritated Viktor looks.
“It seems I cannot be granted this simple pleasure with my…imperfection reminding me of itself,” he hisses out, wincing and letting go of Jayce’s thigh so he can massage his own leg.
“ Vitya ,” Jayce says, carefully bringing his legs down. Viktor's attention snaps to him but he looks defeated.
“I’m sorry,” he says bitterly and Jayce releases his hold on the cushions, flexing his fingers. It hurts from how long they’ve been curled up and the strength at which they were holding on to the cushions, but he pushes that pain aside. He reaches out for Viktor, resting one hand on his shoulder and the other goes to cradle Viktor’s cheek.
“It’s not an imperfection,” he says harshly, stroking the sharp line of Viktor’s cheekbone with his thumb.
“You have no imperfections in my eyes Viktor.”
Viktor leans in to his touch, turning his face to press a fleeting kiss to Jayce’s palm.
“I wish I had your confidence,” he says and uses Jayce’s knees to push himself up.
He stands there for a moment seemingly lost in thought. Jayce is about to call to him when hungry eyes find him and he’s at a loss for words.
“Jayce, you trust me, yes?” Viktor asks and Jayce nods eagerly.
“With everything.”
There’s that flash of surprise on Viktor’s face and then it’s gone.
“Scooch over then,” he says, flapping his hands at Jayce until Jayce makes room on the couch.
Viktor hobbles over a few steps closer to the couch and sits down carefully. He quickly removes his shoes and socks and unbuttons his pants. With a grimace he gets them off.
Jayce can see more moles trailing down the expanse of Viktor’s legs. His bad leg looks a little thinner than his good one but there’s nothing else to distinguish the two.
He takes off his underwear too.
Jayce has never found a cock nice to look at. Not that he makes a regular habit of looking at any besides his own, but when he was younger he did some exploration of himself. He may have only had experience with girls, but he had magazines still stashed under his bed of naked men.
Caitlyn had been the one to get it for him, though she never revealed her source. It was in their late teens that Caitlyn had confessed to him that she didn’t like men, after another awful male suitor her parents had arranged for her to meet.
Jayce had never really put much thought into his own sexuality. He liked girls, had slept with some already by that time, and no man had ever turned his head but he took it anyways. For science was his excuse.
It lay untouched for a long while, before Jayce casually decided to browse it. He could see some attractiveness in some of the naked males but nothing really gripped his attention until one particular slender male. Jayce still remembered the photo, the man draped suggestively over a chaise lounge, his skin dark and glistening, his cock in one hand while the other tugged at his collared shirt - the only thing he was wearing.
That was the first time Jayce jacked off to a man.
After that discovery, he still leaned more towards women, but every now and then he’d try to capture a guy's attention but he always failed miserably.
Caitlyn said it’s because he exudes a straight aura, whatever that means.
But it’s never been a man’s cock that has drawn him to a man, and he never really understood the allure with some of the girls he slept with, their mouths eager to taste him, but now.
Well now he had an inclination of what it was all about.
Viktor’s cock looked beautiful to him, the urge to touch and taste growing stronger the longer he looked. He couldn’t keep his eyes off the elegant curve, the color, the precum that leaks from Viktor’s tip and drips down the base as Viktor lays himself down on the couch, oblivious to Jayce’s stare.
“Alright Jayce, I need you to sit on my chest,” Viktor says and Jayce coughs.
“Um..you want me to…huh?” he asks and looks at Viktor in disbelief.
“Sit on my chest. This is the most comfortable position for me right now I’m afraid, so I’ll need you over here so I can suck your dick,” he says, patting his chest like an owner calling their dog to them.
“I’m not sitting on your chest ,” Jayce hisses, and Viktor has the audacity to roll his eyes.
“You said you trusted me, yes?”
“Well of course but-”
“Then why aren’t you trusting me to know my limits? We’re running out of time Talis,” Viktor says, jerking his head in the direction of the clock and Jayce gives up.
“Fine, fine, but if my big ass crushes you it’s your fault,” he grumbles. He slowly crawls on all fours, hovering over Viktor and hesitating for a second before he sits back, his knees on either side of Viktor’s chest. He doesn’t lower down though, his nerves getting the best of him.
Viktor’s hands snake around and grab Jayce’s ass, giving both of his cheeks a firm caress.
“Your ass is rather nice,” Viktor says, giving one a squeeze.
“I’m not going to break,” Viktor says after Jayce still hasn’t sat down.
“I’m just, uhh, getting more comfortable,” Jayce lies, making a show of shifting on his knees, thankful that even though the couch is relatively old and shitty, it's quite wide and soft. There’s no added stress to Viktor’s back and they’re not at threat of falling off.
“ Sit ,” Viktor barks out, not believing his bullshit.
Jayce sits.
Viktor lets out an oomph and Jayce immediately tries to get back up but Viktor holds him by the ass, his nails digging in.
“See I told you,” Jayce complains, feeling guilty as Viktor looks up at him with a slightly pained expression. He manages to get off of Viktor, hovering once more.
“That’s because you just dropped on me, you overeager puppy.”
Jayce flushes.
“Now, slowly, sit down,” Viktor says patiently, guiding Jayce with his hands.
Jayce’s cock is hovering right by Viktor’s lips and he swears he can feel Viktor’s heart pounding under his ass.
“Look at this, all just for me,” Viktor says, his breath hitting Jayce’s cock, making it harder than he thought possible.
“ Vitya, please,” Jayce pleads, starting to get fed up.
“Say that again,” Viktor demands and Jayce is helpless to comply.
“Vitya, please for the love of everything, suck my fucking cock right now or-” his words are choked off by Viktor almost inhaling him into his mouth.
His lips pull off before Jayce can even register what’s happened.
“Whose in charge here Jayce?” Viktor says, his dark eyes demanding under his long lashes.
“You are,” Jayce whines and presses his finger against the mole under Viktor’s eyes.
“And whose setting the pace?” Viktor asks, allowing Jayce to trace around his mole.
“You,” Jayce says breathlessly.
“Remember that Jayce. I know you’d look so pretty begging for me, but that’s for later, so don’t give me a reason to make you beg sooner,” Viktor warns before his mouth is engulfing Jayce’s cock again.
Viktor’s mouth is hot . It’s just like when his thumb was inside Viktor’s mouth but his cock is more sensitive and the sensations all feel new. It’s velvety soft in there and Viktor’s tongue is exploring with tentative licks and prods. He’s careful off his teeth, barely grazing them as he takes Jayce in deeper.
The heat in Jayce’s stomach starts coiling and more precum comes out. He knows he’s not going to last long like this. It’s embarrassing and he tries to warn Viktor but he doesn’t know if he should use the safe word or just tell Viktor to release him.
Viktor does something with his mouth, a mixture of tongue and teeth that has Jayce hearing the blood rushing in his ears. He moans out some gibberish words, managing to get out a ‘I’m close’ and ‘I’m going to cum’.
This seems to encourage Viktor and he doesn’t pull off, instead he’s sucking with abandon, his cheeks hollowing more and Jayce can’t hold it in. Not with Viktor sucking him off like he’s the sweetest treat in all of Piltover.
He cums with a shout, the world going black and filled with stars as he cums into Viktor’s mouth, only vaguely aware of Viktor’s hands clamping onto his sides, his fingers sinking into the fat of his love handles.
“Fuck,” he shudders and watches through half-lidded eyes as Viktor pulls off of his cock, giving the tip a gentle kiss.
“You did so good for me Jayce, you were wonderful,” Viktor purrs.
Jayce slides off of Viktor and nudges the other scientist until he’s trapped between the couch and Jayce.
“What about you?” Jayce asks, trailing a finger up and down Viktor’s side and ribs.
He looks down between them and is shocked to see Viktor is flacid.
“I came with you,” Viktor says, looking at Jayce smugley.
Jayce kisses him desperately, not minding the taste of his seed mingling with the taste of Viktor.
He wants to lay here forever, his face pressed against Viktor’s cheek, his body draped over the slender man, but there’s a throat clearing and Viktor nudges him gently with his shoulder.
“The food will be here shortly,” he says and Jayce sighs heavily.
“I forgot about that,” he confesses and Viktor laughs.
He feels Viktor’s laugh reverberate through his whole body and he smiles, brushing sweaty hair off of Viktor’s forehead and gives a kiss to each of the moles on Viktor’s face.
“We still have time to clean ourselves in the bathroom,” Viktor says and Jayce reluctantly rolls away and hops off the couch. Viktor barely has time to sit up before Jayce is scooping him up in his arms, holding him bridal style.
“Jayce,” Viktor scolds.
“You took care of me, let me take care of you. Didn't you say that's what I like to do?” Jayce asks, easily carrying him and navigating around the lab to the showers.
He sets Viktor down gently onto a bench and grabs a clean towel, soaking it in the sink before taking the time to gently wipe away any of Viktor’s cum from Viktor’s body. He wipes himself off with a new towel as well, feeling sticky from the sweat their coupling had produced.
“Are you going to carry me back?” Viktor asks, not seriously, as Jayce throws their towels in the hamper.
Jayce raises an eyebrow and easily has an armful of a spluttering Viktor in his arms again.
“You are being ridiculous!”
Viktor’s face is a stunning shade of pink and Jayce kisses him, savoring the feeling of his lips before bringing them back into the main room.
He lets Viktor down so they can get dressed, sneaking glances at each other.
There’s a knock on the door just as Jayce smooths down his hair and Viktor goes over to the door, crutch secured under his arm once more.
Callisto is at the door as Viktor swings it open. They eye the scientists with disinterest and hand over the large bag of food. Viktor thanks them and closes the door with his shoulder.
“Great timing, I’m starving,” Jayce says and walks over to Viktor to take the bag from him.
“We have to fill you up with something for now until I can later,” Viktor says, patting Jayce’s stomach and walking around him in the direction of their mini fridge.
Jayce is frozen in place, his mind processing what Viktor just said and he almost drops their food.
His cock gives a twitch of interest, images of Viktor fucking into him long and slow fill his head and he can't help the sound that slips from his mouth.
“Jayce,” Viktor says warningly, looking over his shoulder as he stoops to dig in the fridge for drinks. “Food first, the rest later. ”
Later, there’s going to be a later, Jayce’s mind does a dance of happiness and he rushes over to start spreading the food on the table.
There’s plenty of sushi for Viktor to focus on and Jayce catches himself staring at Viktor’s lips as he slurps up some sashimi. He hurriedly shovels the chicken into his mouth. Normally he’d like to savor the food, talk to Viktor about their lab work or some gossip he’s heard, but he’s impatient. The promise of what Viktor is going to do to him is exhilarating.
“Relax puppy,” Viktor reaches across the lab table to squeeze Jayce’s forearm.
“I’m not going anywhere.”
Jayce flushes and chews his food a little bit slower.
Viktor starts talking about the Kiramman gardens, expressing curiosity in what grew there. The conversation morphs into Jayce telling Viktor about the misadventures Caitlyn and he shared. He talks about how at twelve they had been racing each other. They’d been too close to the ponds and Caitlyn had elbowed him, trying to get him to slow down. The momentum had sent Jayce flying and he’d grabbed onto her by instinct, taking her down with him. They had both fallen in, getting soaked instantly.
Viktor laughed with his whole body, tilting his head back and his shoulders shaking.
Jayce doesn’t think it’s that funny, but he loves watching Viktor laugh. He rests his elbow on the table and props his chin in his hand, content to watch Viktor.
Viktor shares his own stories of growing up in the undercity in return.
“I’d have liked to have seen the boat you made,” Jayce says and Viktor looks at him surprised.
“It wasn’t anything special,” he says shyly.
And there’s that uncertainty in Viktor again that Jayce wishes would go away. He’s usually so confident. He’s professor Heimerdinger’s assistant afterall, that’s not a position the yordle just gives out on a whim, but something like designing a mechanical boat as a toy in his childhood trips Viktor up. Kids around that age would still be struggling to fold paper to make airplanes - Jayce knows this from experience, a childhood annoyance of never being able to fold the lines just right to get them to go far.
“Can you imagine it? I would’ve been able to get you scraps from my family’s forge and you could’ve made us an army of boats,” Jayce says, excitement getting the best of him and Viktor looks a little less shy now.
“I think I would’ve appreciated that,” he says softly, and returns his attention back to his sushi.
They eat the rest of their meal in companionable silence. They sort out their leftovers and clear the table. Jayce throws everything away while Viktor puts their containers in the fridge.
Jayce stands, uncertain now as he watches Viktor close the fridge.
“Um…your place or mine?” he asks, his usual suaveness is gone.
“My place is closer,” Viktor says and goes to gather his things. Once he’s loaded with his notebooks and his bag, they both wordlessly leave the lab.
They take the elevator down and Jayce sneaks glances at Viktor the entire time.
“Are you nervous?” Viktor asks and Jayce jumps at getting caught.
“A little,” he confesses and Viktor shuffles his papers so he has a hand free. He reaches down and intertwines his fingers with Jayce’s, gripping firmly.
“It’s just me,” he says and that’s just it.
It’s Viktor. It’s finally happening and it’s Viktor.
The touch helps ground Jayce but not that much.
They walk the streets of Piltover holding hands. Jayce is now holding Viktor’s notebooks and carrying his bag, there was no feasible way Viktor would be able to hold his crutch, his belongings, and Jayce’s hand while walking.
It’s late enough that not many people are out but it’s not like Jayce wants to hide away this simple affection. Hell, he wants to race down the streets with Viktor in his arms, shouting to everyone how lucky he is.
He settles for walking as close to Viktor as he can, which earns an annoyed and amused noise from Viktor as he keeps messing up the scientist's strides.
“Do I need to tell you to heel,” Viktor mutters and Jayce stumbles. He keeps to himself after that, careful not to walk into Viktor again, feeling ashamed.
He’s done it to Caitlyn before and his mother and well, anyone he’s close with while they’re walking. He gravitates towards their space and suddenly they’re walking further to the side than where they started and he hasn’t even realized it. Caitlyn usually shoves him and his mother gently reminds him of his space but he and Viktor haven’t ever walked together for long stretches of time like this one, so it hasn’t happened. Or at least it didn’t happen for long enough for Viktor to comment on it.
Viktor sighs and releases Jayce’s hand.
Jayce gets a sour taste in his mouth and his shoulders start to sag, but then Viktor is in his space, hooking his elbow around Jayce’s arm.
“I didn’t say I minded it,” Viktor says and they walk the rest of the way like that, bumping into each other every once in a while making Jayce smile and feel light.
Viktor’s home is one side of a townhouse near the edge of the academy district. There are flower pots on the stoop but it’s too cold for anything to be in them. Inside there’s a fire that automatically lights when Viktor turns on the lights. The kitchen is simple but has a certain charm to it with darkwood and dark blue accents. The table is piled high with textbooks and notebooks. There’s a new set of kitchen tools on the table that has Jayce puzzled. He walks over to it, noticing a post-it on the box.
“Do you want anything to drink?” Viktor asks, opening one of his cupboards and Jayce makes a noise of agreement.
“Sky got you kitchenware?” he asks, tapping the see through screen of the box.
“Oh yes, she saw how old my last set was and bought me a new one,” Viktor says, sounding bashful and he scratches at the mole under his eye.
Jayce feels something hot flow through him but it’s not a pleasurable warmth. No this is an angry warmth.
“She’s been here before?” he asks, trying to keep the jealousy out of his voice but failing.
Viktor sets two mugs down on the counter and leans back against it, setting his crutch off to the side where there’s a custom made nook for it to rest in.
“Sky and I grew up together. We were closer when we were younger and reconnected at the academy,” he says slowly, his gaze steady on Jayce like he’s trying to understand him down to his core.
It feels like a bucket of cold water has been dumped on Jayce’s head. This is new information that he should be tucking away, he wants to learn everything about Viktor after all, but this particular information curls around his heart and makes him unsteady.
He didn’t even know Viktor liked to bake.
“Jayce, come here.”
He hesitates, his eyes glued to the post it note.
I found this cute set at Nobles and thought of you! I can’t wait to taste what you’ll create next
- Sky
There’s even a little heart doodled next to her name.
He turns away and walks over to Viktor.
“Closer,” Viktor huffs and Jayce goes until the tip of their shoes touch.
“I can’t believe I’m having this conversation to be honest with you,” Viktor says, a disbelieving smile on his lips and Jayce cocks his head to the side, confused at the reaction Viktor has to his jealousy.
“Sky is nothing more than a friend , Jayce. I need to tell her in blunt words but I…I’m not used to others holding affection for me. Really, I only took any notice of it today when I saw how you reacted to her asking me to dinner.”
He rubs his hands up and down Jayce’s sides and Jayce relaxes.
“I’m being silly-” he says but Viktor cuts him off.
“No, it’s natural for someone who likes another person to…eh…” he trails off and looks embarrassed, his cheeks flushing with the slightest of color.
“When two people love each other,” Jayce teases, meaning to say like and not love but now it’s there in the open between them.
“Yes,” Viktor says, his eyes wide and hopeful as he looks up at Jayce.
“I was jealous when I thought of anyone holding your attention,” Viktor whispers, licking his lips.
Jayce leans down, caging Viktor in by putting his arms on either side of his slighter frame and slotting one of his legs in between Viktor's.
“Yeah?” he asks, his breath coming out as a long exhale, causing Viktor’s hair to stir.
“You don’t like it when I’m not giving you all my attention,” Jayce states.
They hadn’t had many interactions with others since they’d spent most of the week in the lab, only really leaving for their apartments - or in Jayce’s case, the gym and the forge as well.
But there had been one time, when one of professor Heimendingers students had come to the lab instead of Sky or Heimerdinger. He’d been starstruck by Jayce apparently and Viktor had made a blunt comment to the boy about his overeagerness. Jayce had chalked it up to Viktor just being fed up with the boys floundering all over Jayce, not any actual jealousy because he’d become distracted by all the compliments the newcomer had been giving him.
This new angle was intriguing. It seemed that Viktor was just as caught up in Jayce as Jayce was caught up in him.
“No,” Viktor says simply, his hands playing with the short strands of hair at Jayce’s nape.
“Then you have my attention,” Jayce says, closing the distance between them to kiss Viktor.
With his lips still on Viktor's, he uses one hand to nudge the mugs off to the side. He then gently but firmly grasps Viktor’s hips and lifts him up onto the counter.
The angle is better this way and Viktor molds his upper body to Jayce’s wrapping one good leg around his waist like when they were on the couch.
“I could take you right here,” Jayce pants out as Viktor breaks the kiss and moves down to kiss at his jawline.
“Hmm but you said a bed Mr. Talis,” Viktor says, moving further along Jayce’s jawline until he reaches Jayce’s earlobe. He nibbles it gently, before pressing a tender kiss just under Jayce’s ear.
“And I’m still the one in control,” Viktor says.
Jayce’s knees feel weak and he leans his forehead onto Viktor’s shoulder. The other man continues his ministrations to Jayce’s earlobe and down to his neck.
“You are still ok with that, right?” Viktor asks, pulling away and pushing at Jayce’s shoulders until the bigger man lifts his head up.
“We can always renegotiate, have you inside me.”
Jayce shakes his head slowly.
“No, no it’s ok. I like the idea of you inside me just as much as I like the idea of it the other way around.”
Viktor looks at him critically.
“Next time then,” he says and Jayce can’t help but nod, the butterflies in his stomach swirling around.
Next time.
“Let’s go to my room then,” Viktor says and Jayce moves back only enough to allow the man to slip off the counter and onto the floor. He immediately starts kissing the shorter man, crowding him against the counter again.
“We can’t- Jayce you need to-” Viktor tries speaking but Jayce is determined with his kisses.
Viktor gives a particularly hard nip to his lower lip and he pulls away reluctantly.
“At least let's take off our shoes, I’m not having dirt trekked all over my house,” Viktor pants, running a hand through his hair trying to tame his tresses. It’s really no use as Jayce’s hands have made good work of messing up the thick wavy hair.
They toe off their shoes and Jayce tries to be patient, he really does. He follows Viktor, who is using his cane now instead of his crutch. They almost make it all the way down the hall before Jayce figures he’s been patient enough and scoops Viktor into his arms again.
“Is this going to become a…thing?” Viktor asks dryly, one arm around Jayce’s neck and the cane still in his other hand.
He kind of looks like he wants to smack Jayce with the cane.
“If it makes you feel any better I’m just impatient and you’re light. I’d do this with any partner,” Jayce soothes and a complicated span of emotions show on Viktor’s face.
Jayce is telling the truth though. He knows a part of Viktor assumes he’s doing this because Viktor isn’t moving fast enough or he thinks Viktor is weak and needs to be carried. Jayce’s mind doesn’t see it like that, he just wants to hold Viktor and get to the bedroom too. The simplest solution is to just carry Viktor to satisfy those needs in him.
“Alright,” Viktor says, sensing the truth there and carefully stretches to lean his cane against the wall. It still falls but it makes less of a clatter than if Viktor had just dropped it.
“Proceed,” he says and waves a hand for Jayce to continue.
“Um, Vik, I’m not a mind reader,” Jayce chuckles. “Which one is your room?”
Viktor points to the door that slightly ajar at the end of the hallway and Jayce speedwalks to it, his steps only faltering when Viktor starts licking and sucking on his previous lovebites he’s scattered across Jayce’s neck.
They’re both going to need to wear turtlenecks for the foreseeable future.
Jayce guesses where the light is on the first try, flicking the switch with the back of his arm. It’s awkward and the switch digs into his arm making him wince but no way in hell is he letting go of Viktor. He closes the door with his socked foot and neatly side-steps some clutter on the floor.
The bed is massive . There’s also a ton of pillows, some of them longer and more squished so Jayce assumes they’re support pillows for his partner's leg. He pauses, trying where best to put Viktor down.
He sits Viktor down onto the edge of the bed and starts taking pillows and placing some of them on the floor after he can’t find a good enough spot. Viktor starts taking off his clothes while Jayce starts putting the rest of the pillows not on the floor against the headboard. He makes a nice mountain and catches the tailend of Viktor taking off his briefs.
He makes a mental note that a lot of the pillows had silk cases.
Viktor hadn’t struck him as someone to have those kinds of luxuries but maybe that’s why his hair was always so silky looking and felt so nice under his hands.
Viktor wordlessly scoots across the bed and beckons Jayce forward with a finger.
Jayce quickly undresses, taking everything off so he’s naked too and crawls over to Viktor. Hell even the comforter under them is soft as fuck.
Once he’s propped up comfortably against the pillows, Viktor is on him.
He’s a good kind of weight on top of Jayce and he gets lost in the sensation of all that flesh against his.
It seems Viktor is impatient now that they’ve finally reach here, as he soon is slipping his hand in between them and grabbing both their cocks so they rub up against each other with each thrust. His thumb swirls the tip of Jayce’s cock, rubbing smoothly because of the pre-cum.
Jayce moans and holds on tight to Viktor’s shoulders, his head thrown back into the pillows.
“Do you think I could make you come from just this?” Viktor asks, his lips pressed against Jayce’s pecs.
Jayce just whines.
“Answer me,” Viktor commands, his lips finding Jayce’s nipples and playing with the bud there. He sucks it into his mouth and tongues at Jayce’s nipple while the taller man tries to get an answer out of his mouth.
“Yes Viktor but…please, I need you inside,” he keens as Viktor sucks harder, his hand releasing their cocks so he can brush his fingers teasingly against Jayce’s balls.
“What do you want me to do?” Viktor asks and Jayce thrusts his hips up, jostling Viktor so their cocks still slide against one another without the other man's hand on them.
“Please,” he begs, the heat in his stomach coiling and spreading.
Viktor’s fingers are against Jayce’s lips and he opens his mouth without thought. This time Viktor slips them all in.
“Suck,” he commands.
Jayce is eager to obey, coating the digits in his saliva as he licks and sucks. The fingers taste slightly salty from sweat and metal. He loses himself in the feeling, his eyes crossing as he tries to stare down at the fingers in his mouth.
“So good for me Jayce, such a good boy. You’re going to look even more beautiful on my cock,” Viktor rasps, stroking the side of Jayce’s face.
Jayce keens again and sucks harder.
“Oh pretty boy,” Viktor coos and pulls his fingers out of Jayce’s mouth, replacing them with his tongue.
Jayce can’t get enough, the kiss getting sloppier and wetter with each passing second.
“Have you done this before? Even just to yourself?” Viktor asks after they’ve broken apart and he’s scooted down to lay down between Jayce’s legs.
Jayce shakes his head no, feeling shy.
“It’s going to be uncomfortable and there may be a little pain. I’m going to stretch you and take care of you though, and you just tell me if you need a break or it’s too painful, ok?” Viktor says.
Jayce nods, feeling heady with how careful Viktor is being in this situation.
“Tell me with your words Jayce,” Viktor says and Jayce chokes out a yes.
“Ok, good boy,” the praise rolls off Viktor’s tongue so easily and it shatters something in Jayce each time.
Viktor tells him to bring his legs up and he does, revealing his hole and giving Viktor easier access.
Viktor kisses Jayce’s hole, making him shudder and the muscle to flutter, and then Viktor’s saliva coated finger is breaching.
It’s a strange sensation to say the least, having Viktor’s finger up his ass, wiggling around to start stretching Jayce out, and he can see his own chest starting to get red from how flushed he is.
“You’re doing so good baby,” Viktor says, inserting a second finger. This one makes Jayce feel a little uncomfortable and he shifts a little.
Viktor coos softly and kisses the underside of Jayce’s cock. He mumbles soft affirmations and slowly starts a scissoring motion inside of Jayce.
He withdraws his fingers, leaving Jayce feeling strangely empty, and dips his fingers in his own precum and Jayce’s so they’re slick again, before interesting them back in.
Jayce moans low in his throat and clutches at the pillow behind his head.
A third finger goes in and he hisses, starting to feel a fullness he’s not sure how to process yet, and then VIktor’s finger curls and his knuckle brushes against something that makes Jayce shout.
It’s pleasure beyond belief, the uncomfortableness gone as he’s gotten used to the feeling of Viktor’s fingers inside him.
“More,” he gasps out and Viktor looks up at him hungrily.
“Are you sure you’re ready?” Viktor asks, his fingers stilling inside Jayce.
Jayce nods fast, wanting Viktor inside him. He needs it to happen like he needs to breathe, he needs to have that feeling again.
Viktor’s fingers withdraw and there’s a hollowness now inside Jayce and he whimpers. The whimpers turn into senseless pleading as he watches Viktor lick his fingers.
Viktor makes a pleased noise and Jayce feels the desire spark again in his stomach at Viktor liking the taste of Jayce’s cum.
“There’s lube in the top drawer, can you be a good puppy and fetch it for me?” Viktor asks, giving a kiss to the inside of Jayce’s thigh.
Jayce hurriedly moves, nearly kneeing Viktor in the face in his haste to get up and grab the lube. He starts apologizing but Viktor just laughs and there’s a twinkle to his blown pupils.
“My eager sweet miláček,” Viktor says fondly and waits patiently for Jayce to hand him the lube.
“What’s that mean?” Jayce asks, watching intently as Viktor uncaps the bottle.
“Little love, or darling,” Viktor says, leaning over to kiss Jayce sweetly on the lips.
“I like it,” Jayce says.
“Do you have one for me?” Viktor asks, spreading Jayce’s legs wider with his free hand so he has room. His cock is right at Jayce’s hole and he starts squeezing the lube into his hand.
“ Mi vida , my love,” he says easily.
Viktor smiles a bright and lovely thing.
“I like that too,” he says and starts covering his cock with the lube. Jayce watches in a trance.
Once Viktor is satisfied he lines himself up and takes the base of his cock in one hand and starts to push in. He takes his time, watching Jayce’s every bodily twitch and facial expression, keeping a slow and even pace until he’s fully bottomed out.
“You feel so good, so tight,” Viktor says, and leans down so they’re pressed chest to chest.
He kisses Jayce, hugging Jayce to him almost desperately. Jayce wraps his arms around Viktor’s back, feeling each notch of his spine as he trails his fingers across each one. He plays a large hand on Viktor’s ass and another one on his lower back. He feels a divet in Viktor’s back and explores it more with his touch.
Viktor has back dimples.
Jayce can’t wait to explore more of this gorgeous creation he’s so lucky to have as his.
“You can move,” Jayce says, finding himself aching from the lack of movement.
Viktor starts moving, his hips dragging slowly as he thrusts in and out. It’s a pleasant feeling, this added fullness and the slight burn of having something larger than Viktor’s fingers inside of him. But any pain dissipates as Viktor starts to speed up and he hits that spot again.
Once he finds it he keeps hitting it. Jayce digs his fingernails into Viktor’s back and ass, trying to get him even closer, like they could merge and become one if he just cradled Viktor close enough.
The room is filled with their harsh pants and skin on skin. Jayce is lost to the sensations, the same for Viktor.
Jayce is not even sure they’re really kissing anymore, it’s more like they’re breathing each other’s air and sometimes their lips make contact as the force of their bodies keeps them brushing against each other.
“Jayce yes, uhhh, my little sweet thing, you’re so pretty, so good for me,” Viktor says, over and over, more and more compliments and praises fall from his lips as he pounds into Jayce, hitting that spot over and over and over again.
Jayce can feel his stomach tightening and he whimpers.
He squeezes Viktor’s ass again, kneading the soft flesh there and whispers that he’s close.
Viktor makes a delighted noise and the praises get lost to the rushing in Jayce’s ears.
He feels Viktor shudder against him and the most beautiful noise escapes Viktor and then there’s cum filling him up. Viktor looks beautiful, his arms digging into Jayce as he releases inside of him, his eyes closed and his kiss swollen mouth slightly open.
“Jayce,” he calls out and that does it for Jayce.
He cums too, and his vision goes black.
He comes too with Viktor pulling out of him.
He almost begs Viktor to stay inside but holds his tongue.
“Let me get a rag to clean us off,” Viktor says, brushing a tender kiss on his lips before sliding off Jayce to get off the bed.
He doesn’t make it but to the edge of the bed before he lets out a muffled cry and his hand falls to his leg.
Jayce sits up instantly, post sex haze clearing at seeing his lover in pain.
“I’ll get it,” he offers softly, pressing a reassuring kiss against Viktor’s neck.
“The room to the left,” Viktor says, sounding put out as Jayce crawls out of the bed and heads towards the bedroom door.
The bathroom is as comforting as the rest of the house, the light over the mirror a welcoming yellow. He lets the water run until it’s warm and then runs a washcloth under it. He turns off the faucet and twists the washcloth to remove the excess water before going back into the bedroom.
Viktor has taken off the top comforter - clearly they got it dirty - and it’s folded neatly on the floor by the end of the bed.
Jayce takes his time cleaning Viktor’s stomach and the inside of his thighs.
He blushes when he realizes there’s fluid leaking from his ass and he blushes as Viktor takes the washcloth to clean him up.
Once Viktor is satisfied, he tosses the washcloth on top of the comforter and pulls Jayce into the bed.
He has one of his long pillows already in the bed and Viktor situates himself before tugging Jayce more firmly into his side. The mountain of pillows have also already been rearranged so they won’t wake up with sore necks from sleeping with too many pillows, though Jayce is more than happy to use Viktor as his pillow.
Viktor doesn’t seem to mind either, pressing his lips against Jayce’s forehead as Jayce snuggles further into his lean body.
“I think this is the first time we’re both in bed by three am,” Jayce says and Viktor snorts.
“Maybe we can make it a habit,” Viktor says, holding Jayce tightly and urging Jayce to tangle his legs with Viktor’s good one.
“How do we turn off the lights?” Jayce yawned, stretching his body before curling back up against Viktor. He rested a hand on Viktor’s stomach while his other one stayed between the two of them. It was probably going to fall asleep and give him pins and needles, which he hated , but he’d sacrifice it if it meant staying like this with Viktor.
“Did you know that I am somewhat of a scientist?” Viktor says and claps his hands, descending the room into pitch dark.
Jayce almost squeals because that’s so cool.
He settles for kissing Viktor’s collarbone instead.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” Viktor says, not a question, but a fact.
“See you tomorrow,” Jayce answers back, sleep finally catching up to him and dragging him under.
They have all the time in the world now. They’re young, they have the hextech and each other in their futures, and Jayce has never felt so safe and content before. It would be him and Viktor, in all timelines and in all possibilities, them .

One thing I've been wondering about and maybe I just missed something, but is old mage Viktor supposed to be post-glorious evolution era, with him succeeding in his conquest and everything? Because I have been wondering why he still looks human and not like his machine herald form, and also appears to have aged? Or can he change his appearance?? Idk I am so confused about that part O~O
The Doylist answer is that Viktor being the mage was most likely a retcon (not a dig at all, as I love the way it really makes Jayce and Viktor a causal loop of a pair) and/or having a machine herald hand would give the entire twist away. Fun fact though, I just went for screenshots comparing the hands in episode 2 vs the flashbacks to show the gnarly nails, but they did give Viktor the nails if not the hand tattoos in the quick flashback! Maybe he cleaned them up for Jayce's visit lmao
There's a few plausible theories one could roll with, though I don't think the show itself has one answer they planned. While I still fully think Arcane could have at least used another act to flesh out more details and give that breakneck ending some time to breathe, one thing I like is that they do give the audience a lot to work with in the details. Though I'm also someone who enjoys having lots of breadcrumbs to play with in a story,
(tangent, but as someone who loves different methods of storytelling this is why I love Arcane and how it uses narrative, visual, and musical storytelling methods to weave everything together. It's approach to crafting a story is also very collaborative, which is how we get different answers between writers and the animation teams (see the writers not intending Jayvik, but more and more animators/VA's revealing that they ship it, and YEAH, most of the Jayvik content is in their body language and vocal delivery. I think the audience is included in that collaboration, and they give the audience a lot to build pretty solid speculations with. Tho again....we could have used things slowing down to make it easier to take in at that end there.)
Also; introducing a multiverse is kind of genius when you have a story that has nebulous cosmic magic, since it creates a LOT of leeway for getting around details like Wizard Viktor. (Again, not a dig at all!)
One take I have is that Wizard Viktor never transformed into the Arcane Herald form because Jayce never killed him. For extra heartbreak, the pose we see Jayce in could have been a willing submission instead of defeat :). There is still some of the arcane corruption coloration around his face, with the rest of him being hidden besides the hands. That leaves the hexcore body still, but since our Viktor had his face exposed I don't see it as much of a stretch that Mage Viktor may not have had his entire body changed.
Another take, and I think the easiest answer, is that Mage Viktor is already at a level where he is fucking around with timelines and is seen using an anomaly and it's not much if any stretch to assume that he can change how he looks to some extent. The anomaly is a force of perpetual creation and self annihilation (aka exactly what he's doing by perpetually making himself/Jayce while trying to avert his own existence). I headcanon that his first attempts to undo what was done to Jayce (and everyone else but it's pretty obvious Jayce is his focus lbr) involved him trying to undo his own evolution and using the time shenanigan powers of the anomaly to make himself more human again.

hi! first off, i love your arcane meta, especially the jayce characterization and hextech details. you get it.
now second, (and feel free to ignore this wall of text for any reason):
if you're in the mood to talk about meta, i'm curious to hear your take on one season 2 thing that i've been scratching my head about
how much does post-anomaly jayce know about the future? my initial impression was that wizard viktor only told jayce what we see onscreen, and jayce was kind of improvising and trying his best without detailed knowledge of future events.
but some lines ("we're meant to lose this fight") and a comment from the artbook (post-anomaly jayce wearing armor bc he knows there is a battle coming) imply that he knows more than he lets on.
what's your (watsonian) take of jayce's knowledge of the future in season 2? is there any detail in the show that sheds some light on this?
i think jayce knowing or not knowing about certain events really recontextualises some scenes. is he following his own or wizard viktors plans? is he suprised about the events of act 3? i've been rotating this in my head but i'm not sure what interpretation i prefer.
Thank you so much!
As for your question, it's a really interesting one!
Unfortunately, I do think I need to start the answer with the Doylist one:
Jayce knows as much about the future as he needs to for the plot.
I think this is important to note because it informs an understanding of their choice not to show us him getting an exposition download of everything Wizard Viktor has worked out over the years as to how exactly Jayce can thread this needle of saving Viktor at exactly the right time.
Because, in theory, the amount of optimization could be infinite. It could get all the way down to, "Jayce needs to be scared into falling into this exact pit and spending no more than 3 months there because that gives him the suffering needed for his plea to Viktor to be heartfelt and informed by similar suffering, but not so long that Jayce goes insane from isolation."
Or even things like, "Ekko needs to go to the Happy Zaun universe or else he won't have the sympathy needed for him to prevent Jinx's suicide and without her present at the battle, one of Herald Viktor's mind-control arms snatches up Ekko too soon rather than grabbing Jinx instead, so he's not there to buy Jayce's those critical extra seconds for his appeal to True Love and also put a bomb in Herald Viktor's face."
That said....
I admit, part of me still sort of wishes that Jayce had been the one to go through multiple realities of optimizing, just because I think it answers... a few more questions? Like how did he suddenly get so comfortable with killing someone like Salo, if he wasn't fighting in other universes? Why does he look so aged if only 3-6 months passed? How does he know things like how exactly to get to Viktor's commune and the fact they're going to lose the fight, etc etc etc.?"
I think it would have been cool and very fitting for Jayce but I will admit, the story we got covers all of this too.
Jayce's aging could easily be the product of extreme hardship (I wouldn't be surprised if the animators referred to images of people who have been, say, stranded on desert islands or prisoners of war for long periods to inform just how much Jayce's face muscles wasted away while he was there and just how much extreme hardship can age you because it can be extreme even within a few months and between pain, starvation, dehydration, and magical gangrene, Jayce was going through it).
Jayce's comfort with the idea of killing Salo could just be a product of his hardship (killing and eating lizards with his bare hands lol yuck), or of understanding that assimilated people are already dead, effectively, and to stop that future he cannot hesitate at all. Also, maybe he just fucking hates that guy, which would be pretty understandable after Salo voted to banish him back in 1.02 and also is very funny to me, personally, that he was just a little more comfortable smooshing that particular Councilor than he would be literally anyone else.
And this is were I get to your question: how much does Jayce know? Presumably, if we go Watsonian, whatever Wizard Viktor believed he needed to know to actually thread this needle, because there's probably information he doesn't need to know too.
For example, Jayce might know:
He cannot let a Cultist get back to Viktor with Hexgems. Salo needs to go. Who knows what this prevented but I can easily see how Viktor having more power right now to prolong his healing/assimilation would be a bad thing regardless. Also just... having Salo at all as a potential power player that Viktor could work through.
He knows where the commune is. In theory, he probably could just ask someone in Zaun too I mean, I doubt it's a secret, and narratively we don't need to see that.
He knows he cannot under any circumstances let Viktor talk to him once they're face to face. He can't even look at Viktor after Viktor knows he's there. There's a heavy implication that if Cult Leader Viktor so much as smiles at him, Jayce will fold, if we believe the little flash of memory of Jayce remembering him smiling at him isn't just Dead Wive Vision but is actually Anomaly Future Jayce warning him about what happened to him to lead t that point, which I think is a baller theory.
He can't give into Viktor, ever. He can't let Viktor touch his forehead before the right time. Jayce fights like mad to get away from that robot once Viktor decides that Jayce will be his partner again or else.
He knows he needs to take all the Hexgems out of the base of the Hexgate, but is it to stop Viktor? Or is to buy a few extra seconds while Viktor plugs them back in again so that Ekko has time to wake up? This is the sort of thing where Wizard Viktor might know the real reason for something but doesn't need to get that granular with why because it's about buying time, not actually preventing the Herald from grabbing the Anomaly.
By the way, I have a theory that one reason Jayce needs to get the gem burned into his wrist is because there's universes where his bracelet gets cut off and he loses the gem so Wizard Viktor is like, "This is gonna suck, but you really need this thing embedded in your flesh so it's there at the right time." Though, it could also be so he can engage the magic in his Alt Universe hammer. Still, I am a little sad that it's not an effect of Jayce universe hopping where some battle got it burned into him, because that was my original theory and I'm still very partial to it.
Jayce knows that he has no chance of winning the fight, he just needs to survive it. Once he gets to the top of the tower, once he grasps the hammer, it's all over. From that point on, the only thing he can do is have faith and get his big Power of Love speech ready, that is his only chance.
As for what Jayce is surprised by, I do think he might have been told information but not shown it necessarily. I am still really sad we didn't get a visual of what Wizard Viktor told him but, at the same time, one of the fun parts of Arcane is that it doesn't spoon-feed us, which gives us the chance for discussions like this, so wanting that scene is me being a Jayce addict not because I think it would necessarily strengthen the story.
So I think Jayce doesn't know what Machine Herald Viktor looks like. It's possible that Wizard Viktor doesn't either, because that didn't happen to Wizard Viktor, he didn't get slowed down at the commune, Jayce probably joined him there and probably didn't fight him at all, there's a strong hint that Anomaly Universe Jayce surrendered to Viktor at the top of the tower (the explosion marks around him are behind him, which implies that the force of his conversion might have been in front and willing, like he was kneeling before his king, and we don't have the top of his head to know which direction the fingerprints are positioned in).
So basically, Machine Herald Viktor is a product of Viktor needing Singed to regain enough power to go get the Anomaly, which Wizard Viktor didn't need to do.
It's possible that Wizard Viktor doesn't know about Ekko, he just knows that something outside his awareness has to happen for MH Viktor to be caught off guard, and as MH Viktor says, "That device cannot be," he cannot in his infinite knowledge account for what happens in a world where Hextech never got beyond its infancy with Jayce and Viktor at the helm.
So, at a certain point, there may have been things that Jayce and Wizard Viktor just had to rely on faith to come about too.
But it's way more fun to speculate because I think we'd be punching holes in it instead of speculating on it if we had been given this whole download.
Hope that answers your question??

sweet tea. - with Viktor from "Arcane"
─── ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ⋅ ⋅ ───
♥︎ Synopsis: Being friends with a scientist It's really complicated, especially when he loves his creation so much.
♥︎ Contains: Slow burn (?), Y/N cited, not reviewed, Stressed Viktor, and a few other things I don't remember?
♥︎ A/Note: It's been a while since I've written. I missed this feeling. I love you guys. I love being back.
─── ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ⋅ ⋅ ───
It's hard to see Viktor outside his lab. Everything in his life revolves around this Hextech. Everything.
Anyway, miracles do happen, don't they? While his mind was working hard on Hextech, he was also thinking about you.
You're his best friend, along with Jayce. You admire him. Really, it's a huge admiration. Everything he does is graceful, the way he explains every detail to you is incredible. He's a genius! At least, that's what you think.
He doesn't see himself that way. It's so complicated, he has so many problems... His leg, which he's already angry about having, is a thing of the past, but he still doesn't like it. It's a problem for him. Understanding Hextech, how it works... another problem. But... he has you.
He always has you. You arrive at the lab. You could tell he wasn't in a very good mood, he was shirtless and bouncing his leg frustratedly.
You sigh and pull up a chair next to him. "Um, is everything okay..?" you ask hesitantly. You know it's not by the way he looks at you. "Okay... I'll make some tea, what flavor do you want?" you smile, trying to cheer him up. “Bring me… anything.” He sighs and waves his hand at you, you could even make a joke.
You leave the lab, walking calmly until you reach a makeshift kitchen. You look through a few tea flavors until you find a Hibiscus one. You like the flower, but the flavor of this tea is wonderful! You sigh and put the water on to heat. You lean against the counter, and find yourself thinking about Viktor.
He's been trying so hard, it's killing him. You grab two cups and the hibiscus leaves. You stir carefully, without spilling, just... calm. Thinking of ways to get Viktor out of that shitty lab. Why does he care so much?! You believe, yes, in the power of that thing, but it will end with him!
You pick up the cups and walk out of the kitchen, carrying them shakily. You arrive at the lab and sit next to him again, he looks very tired. "Viktor, rest, please." you ask, putting your hand on his shoulder "You won't achieve anything being so tired like this!" you say a little more worried.
"I don't need your 'pity', Y/N, I can do this on my own! I don't care if I'm tired, I need to solve this thing!" He shivers, he's nervous. You swallow hard and take a deep breath.
"Viktor, listen to me, you can't think like this! You're so... frustrated, tired!" You hold his wrist, while he looks you up and down with anger, but that tired kind of anger… "Look, I know you're smart," you look into his eyes, "I know you'll be able to solve this, but rest. Please." You hold his hands, pulling him away from Hextech. You see his eyes red with sleep.
He sighs and gives up fighting you. "Okay. I'm going to rest..." he says in that low, sweet voice of his. You nod and pick him up, holding his hand, leading him to his room. Patiently, walking carefully so he doesn't strain his leg any more.
When you get to his room, you pull him into the bathroom. It must have been a while since he's had a relaxing bath. He tries to say no, but he just goes along with it. You take off his pants and put him under warm water, just relaxing him. After a few minutes, you hand him the towel.
He looks at you, he looks upset, tired, you don't even know what he might be feeling anymore. He sighs and dries himself.You pull him to his bed, it's a small, cramped bed, but you sit there while he lies down. He puts his head on the pillow and looks like he's going to pass out from exhaustion.
He looks at you sideways and takes your hand. "Thank you." He says softly and in a low voice. He pulls you next to him, and you don't refuse to lie down there. Maybe the feeling had faded, maybe it was something you thought you had left in the past, but it wasn't quite like that. You smiled and blushed as you lay down next to him. His hand holding yours. “Comfortable?" He says, chuckling softly at your sudden shyness.
"Yeah, you could say that." You pretend to shrug. You smile and suddenly, for a few seconds, you pull him closer to you. He gets a little scared but doesn't pull away. You smile and kiss him on the forehead. "Now rest, Viktor. I promise to be here." You say, he sighs and hugs you back.
Maybe, it's just fatigue getting to him, and the rest is history.
