Do you think Erik would be more of a vampire or a werewolf (in a AU I guess) (and also what do you think Charles would be?) I lowkey imagine Charles as little red riding hood if Erik was a werewolf.
i feel like they're both pretty vampire coded...... if we must assign them vampire or werewolf......

It's entirely the fault of Tumblr that i can't get the idea of Vampire!Charles out of my head. First, it's mentioned in a few posts, and then people keep posting fanart of Charles that looks very vampiric. And then ahyperactivehero starts writing "blessed be the boys time can't capture" an actual story which has Charles as a vampire but isn't entirely AU as it seems like they are still going to become detectives.
Charles being a vampire is just so interesting not just because he would have vastly different abilities but also because vampires always add a different sense of morality because they are predators, Charles would drink blood but would it be animal, human, magical synthetic? Would Charles be more willing to harm their enemies as a vampire? Would he occasionally kill enemies who go too far and won't retreat?
What abilities would Charles have? Depending on the media, vampires have vastly different powers. The common ones are enhanced strength and speed, senses, and reflexes. There are some many other shape-shifting, flight, telepathy, mind control, and blood magic. Charles having different abilities would also change how they operated as detectives. If Charles can't mirror travel, how would he follow Edwin, turn into a bat, and ride in Edwin's front pocket through the mirror? Perhaps vampires could have a method of teleportation like shadow travel.
Would Charles be able to wear his earring? Would he be vulnerable to religious iconography? Does it require the vampire to believe in the particular symbols. Sunlight is deadly to vampires, but can Charles use a tanning bed? Yes, he can, and he does just to annoy Edwin. Would Charles carry a welcome mat in his bag so he can get into other peoples houses without an invitation? Edwin would be extremely pissy if this worked because it won't make any sense. If Charles can't walk in sunlight how could they get around this for cases, An umbrella? Some vampires can influence the weather so Charles could make it cloud over whenever he needs.
On a darker note, if Charles ever lost control and killed someone, the level of drama and angst would be cosmic. Or if Charles became addicted to killing and he started hunting criminals to satisfy his bloodlust, then Edwin would have to stop him. Would Edwin be able to? Lock Charles up with blessed silver until he came to his senses?

Now that Faeries are pretty much confirmed I have decided I am right out of the gate ignoring whatever EA says the faerie lore is because they're not gonna do it right according to me (you can't even level up as a Spellcaster to 'fix the magic realm' AND I WILL DIE SALTY ABOUT IT. You can restore Strangerville to normality by Defeating The Mother Plant WHICH IS COOL but YOU CAN'T FIX THE MAGIC REALM?? IT'S FUCKED FOREVER??? THOSE TWO PACKS CAME OUT THE SAME YEAR TOO ARE YOU KIDDING ME) So, since I have no Discord or anything I am gonna talk shop here. There's also going to be some behind the scenes headcanon stuff in here about all my dumb worldbuilding nonsense if you care about that. It's basically a part of the canon Realm of Magic Lore that Practical Magic is considered the safest and most widely accepted school of Magic (OG Minerva is a practical caster, untampered with and it's why she has a very set plan she wants her kids to follow, which is not getting into Mischief or Untamed Magic but I scrapped that early on because I like exploring ALL the schools of magic that I made up so I decided that you're born as a certain type of caster). I don't know if anyone who reads my story has seen The Magicians, but it's where I get a lot of my ideas about a good magic system. I equate practical magic to the Disciplines of Nature Magic, some select parts of Physical Magic and Healing Magic. The majority of Casters tend to fall into the school of Practical Magic. Technically in my universe, Mermaids are also considered practical casters because they're a special sect of Nature Magic Users. Or more accurately, they're like werewolves in that they evolved from Practical Casters and now they're this other thing.
Alchemical Magic in my story isn't just potions, it's like a parallel to the Magicians' Knowledge Magic Discipline and certain select parts of Physical Magic. Alchemists in Ebbearath are potioneers sure, but they're also spell scribes, inventors of new spells, and all of them in some way have gifts in fields that have to do with the discovery of new magic. The archaeology department is part of the Alchemical Magic School because they're unearthing artifacts that might lead to using old magic in a new way, etc. etc.
Mischief Magic is mostly comprised of psychic magic in the CCECU (Corvus Crossing Extended Cinematic Universe lol) Illusions, emotional manipulation/empathic manipulation, telepathy/mind reading, mind control, and sometimes even prophetic visions/clairvoyance powers. I made a comment in a reply that "Arcane Business majors" fall under the school of Mischief Magic because marketing and advertising is basically empathic manipulation and a little bit of mind control to get you to buy into whatever product is being sold, appealing to abstract feelings. The Mischief Casters (along with some Untamed Casters for good measure because Necromancy is Untamed Magic) are the primary source of the creation of vampires, whereas Practical Magic and Alchemical Casters were the primary source of Werewolves.
NOW We get to untamed magic. Walk with me. We're getting a little True Blood here about the source of Untamed Magic and it's entirely to do with faeries. The fae are going to be the source of Untamed Magic (FAERIE EMISSARY MORGYN EMBER WILL BE A THING ISTG) and to this day that magical tie between the two species will be the reason vampires crave faerie blood and go ham for it like a fat cat on a Churu treat. This is why resurrection, life, death, and elements are all part of The School of the Untamed and why Untamed Casters are a lot more rare in my universe than the Practicals, The Alchemists, and even Mischief Casters.
What does that mean for a certain sparkly-eyed fiery boi? Not sure yet. I know it will have nothing to do with the Charm bloodline but some mingling faerie blood might definitely come from the Martinescu family. Vesta's good with plants, Fortuna makes powerful crystal jewelry, Minerva has a gift for runes other casters can't match. Not that they will be full blood fae, they won't, but I'm thinking that's where the Untamed Caster blood is from and where Damien got it. We might get faerie relatives...

Every Bionicle mask-power summarised.
Hau: Everything-proof shield
Kaukau: "Hey, wanna see how long I can hold my breath underwater?"
Miru: Somewhat balanced flight powers (can't take off from a standstill; horizontal movement at least somewhat controlled by wind)
Kakama: Wheeeeeeeee!
Pakari: Kinda like the Berserk Pack from Doom
Akaku: X-ray specs
Huna: Stealth mode
Rau: Google Translate
Mahiki: Illusions, but also just full-on shapeshifting for some reason?
Komau: Hypnotism kink
Ruru: "Night vision", which canonically manifests as a torch-like beam projected from the mask's front, and gives the wearer actual night-vision, and yet more x-ray stuff
Matatu: Gmod Physgun Telekinesis Addon 2004 No Virus
Calix: Basically X-Cell from Fallout 4 but without the intelligence boost
Elda: Thing finder, for finding things
Suletu: Telepathy and also psychic torture
Sanok: Aimbot
Kadin: Very unbalanced flight powers (literally the only downside is that the user can't hover in place)
Iden: Out of body from morning to night/Dance floor packed and I'm feeling alright
Arthron: *Whale noises*
Faxon: "Hey, wanna see my animal impressions?"
Zatth: Kinda like if going "pspsps" had an equal chance of attracting a cat, a bear or a car-sized land-octopus
Garai: Gravity-y-y-y-y-y, on me/Never let me down, gent-ly damn, two Gorillaz references in one post; I'll try to use another band next time
Volitak: Same as the Huna but worse
Tryna: Wise fwom your gwave!
Jutlin: Rust-vision
Avsa: *Vampire noises*
Felnas: Messes up your abilities, but only through touch for some reason?
Mohtrek: I have no idea how I'd condense this mask's timeline-fuckery into a single se- where did all these scars come from?
Shelek: ‍
Crast: Pushes others away
Mask of Mutation: Guess.
Mask of Scavenging/Vulture: Like the Avsa, but it only works on the recently-deceased
Pehkui: Makes you tiny
Mask of Clairvoyance: The last word of this post will be "diversity"

Mask of Psychometry: Ever wondered where your favourite shirt came from?
Rode: Mask of Seeing Through Your Shit
Olmak: Now you're thinking with portals
Mask of Charisma: Actually functions more like brainwashing
Olisi: Isn't it weird how Bionicle's most notable use of the "mad oracle" trope is A. unreliable and B. a giant Frankenstein-man who commits body-horror on random people?
Kiril: Basically the opposite of the Jutlin
Mask of Intangibility: *Ghost noises*
Mask of Possibilities: Essentially the Improbability Drive from Madness Combat, but on a smaller scale
Mask of Elemental Energy: who cares about this one like seriously it barely appears outside the games
Mask of Adaptation: Turns you into an environment-specific action figure
Mask of Aging: The mask that makes you old
Mask of Biomechanics: Essentially the Gmod ragdoll-mover addon
Mask of Conjuring: I'm just going to copy what Biosector says, since it's really convoluted and complex; "The Mask of Conjuring is a Kanohi that allows its user to verbally program a limited power into the mask for a brief period of time. The user must describe in detail the power desired and at least one weakness. If the phrasing is spoken wrong, it causes intense psychic backlash in the user's mind. The user can use a programmed power for fifteen minutes (with a Great version), and after the time is out, the user must wait thirty seconds to activate the mask again. The Noble version will only work for five minutes. Another weakness is because it requires time and speech, any enemies nearby can hear in detail what power to expect and what its weakness is. Because of this, the usage of the mask is more commonly done alone. It is also capable of being programmed with the powers of other masks, such as the Kanohi Hau."
Mask of Freezing: What do you think it does
Mask of Fusion: Combines things • Mask of Healing: Heals stuff
Mask of Incomprehension: 👁️🧠🫵🥫🚹🇮🇹📤
Mask of Rebounding: Something something rubber glue etc.
Mask of Reconstitution: Literally just another Mask of Mutation, but slightly worse
Mask of Sensory Aptitude: 'Cause I've got one two three four five/Senses working o-ver-ti-ime!
Mask of Undeath: I live... again!
Mask of Weather Control: /weather clear 18000
Mask of Weight Increase: Literally just a Garai that can't make things lighter
Ignika: Do-anything MacGuffin that turned into a guy once and also became God's hat for a bit
Vahi: Time isn't holding up/Time isn't after us/Same as it ever was/Same as it ever was...
Mask of Creation: Just kinda lets you make stuff, while also celebrating the Matoran Universe's cultural diversity!

Lore Notes: Zagreus
Tumblr media
(also a lot of the parts of the notes that are copied from the transcript are highlighted, but that didn't copy over to tumblr so if you want to see that you can go here)
The doctor’s past regeneration seems to be speaking to him → a product of the tardis, or a product of his mind, is this only happening because zagreus is in his mind messing with him (something something go read my regenerative dissonance essay, that’s my theory anyway, and i don’t feel like typing it all out again, specifically the part about other incarnations showing up in times of distress) (well, i mean it’s the tardis isn’t it, but also let me have this)
Tardis projections seems to be similar to the matrix → not quite a physical space, but showing recorded info
‘Anti-time, as Sentris told you, is the result of hundreds of thousands of living, breathing being's futures and pasts. Wases and never-wases’
‘They all exist, occasionally sharing moments and eras, the rest of the time self contained and unaware’ → multiverse
‘Great Mother, it is the time of Chaos. Rassilon has detonated his star. Omega has given the Gallifreyans the secrets of the past and the future’
Is great mother some sort of title or rank, if so what does is stand for
‘Rassilon now controls this planet and its people. The hierarchy are referring to themselves as time lords’
Omega’s ‘sacrifice’ speculated to be planned by rassilon so he would gain power
‘It is known that politically Rassilon and Omega were opposed’
Cassandra high priestess → still in the days of gallifrey having religious orders
‘House of jade dreamers’ → another house name
‘I make it my business to know all the Houses, Chapters and other ephemera of Rassilon's brave new world’ → chapters and houses products of rassilon (but it does seem like they may predate the time lords, seeing as the way cassandra referred to her house implies it has some political standing already, and we know from just a few moments ago that the time lords are pretty new) (also possible that the house is as new as the time lords and the person who established it just didn’t have a lot of political standing themselves)
‘The prime of the arcalian chapterhouses’ → houses have a collective leader?
‘Science is what your Sisterhood is all about. Your magics, your telepathy, your Sacred Flames and Elixirs of Youth. It's all science. You've just chosen to bury beneath pagan symbolism and artificial superstition’ → this feels like the opposite of what the time lords are doing, it’s all painted as science, but is more magic like (of course it is all science, but you know, it’s the presentation to the outside universe vs how it is treated by those on gallifrey)
‘A vast expanse of scrubland’ → some info about the ancient gallifreyan environment
Rassilon has a workshop (his foundry) that he keeps a few seconds out of time to hide/protect it
I really like getting to see the bits of political turmoil during rassilons time (and with that the dislike of rassilon by some people) when on modern gallifrey he’s pretty much considered to be a god
‘Old high gallifreyan, not spoken for millenia’
‘Cardinal rassilon’ → in politics, but not currently leading
‘For someone who speaks the ancient language’ → this time is often presented as the beginning of time lord history (well i guess it is, since the time lords themselves are fairly new here), but if old high gallifreyan is considered to be ancient, that means gallifreyan society goes back much further
‘The officially appointed committee of three’ → idk what this actually is but it is the provost (head of arcalian houses) (also a vampire), the great mother (head of sisterhood of karn?), and someone else
Vampires on gallifrey (‘the ancient enemy’) → doesn’t seem like that’s a common thing, but also the great mother seems pretty unsurprised
Okay, so they’re pretty much extinct at this point (hunted them down with bowships)
OUIDA: These Black Scrolls suggest you have been systematically interfering with Gallifreyan physiology.
TEPESH: What is the Rassilon Imprimatur? These symbiotic nuclei?
Something something the symbiotic nuclei being created alongside the Rassilon imprimatur → Rassilon didn’t invent time lords and then give them living technology to bind with, he invented time lords to be able to bond with living technology (idk if that wording quite makes sense, but I hope my point gets across)
‘Cardinal Rassilon has been researching a method of regenerating diseased and decaying tissue. By a series of permanently carried self-replicating biogenic molecules, the cells of a Gallifreyan body can be repaired, restored and reorganised. This will result in a wholly new physical form. The brain cells will similarly be rearranged although to a lesser degree, thus ensuring the new incarnation will replicate the memories and personality of the former incarnation. Cardinal Rassilon intends for this method to only be used upon the Gallifreyan elite. He has also inputted a parameter of twelve regenerative cycles to avoid decaying biogenic molecules’ → explanation of regeneration
Also this is not my font of science so take everything I’m about to say with a grain of salt, but could the regenerative molecules be compared to a type of ‘advanced’ stem cells? Idk, all I really know is that stem cells can be used to regenerate tissues to an extent because they can become other types of cells (i think, again, I’m an ecologist so correct me if I’m wrong) and I think it’s fun to try and make these things make actual sense
Also this has some interesting implications for regenerative cycles, did Rassilon test for how many regenerations it took for these molecules to decay, I would assume he did, and then how much of a buffer does 12 leave, is that far from when they start decaying, or right when they do (and as we see in other stories, there are regenerative disorders, so clearly they have the ability to decay and/or malfunction long before 12 regenerations). Also how does he control that limit, are the molecules just programmed to completely break down, that would make the most sense (to me) (though we do later see that even on his last regeneration the doctor has some ability to use regenerative energy, but that happened later and whoever wrote that episode (I’m not looking it up, I don’t care enough for that) probably didn’t care enough to analyze this little bit from a four hour long audio to make sure it made sense with the established lore). And does this mean that receiving a new regenerative cycle is just being given more of whatever these molecules are or do you retain them and then they are reactivated (and does that mean that additional regenerative cycles have more opportunities for things to go wrong with regeneration since the molecules would be more likely to start decaying the longer they are in use)
‘A blasphemy against the ancient ways, technology is path best not taken’
‘He’s been systematically adjusting the dna of the higher houses, notably the prydonainas and the patrex’ → first chapters to get regeneration
RECORDER: File Ras/delta gamma. Seventy spans have passed since Cardinal Rassilon began investigating alternative realities. Alternative pasts, alternative presents, alternative futures. He discovered that all futures coalesce into one Web of Time alone. Free will is not a possibility. Alternative realities are not a possibility. When this universe was created, it brought into existence a race of creatures.
TEPESH: Go on.
RECORDER: Using the matrices constructed via an amplified panatropic network, Cardinal Rassilon has discovered that this powerful race will consume and eradicate all life within ten thousand millennia.
CHARLEY: What is this race like?
RECORDER: Exact specifics are unavailable. However, Cardinal Rassilon believes Humanian life, the basic physical form examplified by Gallifreyans, to be the only essential form of life. He rationalises that for the universe to continue existing beyond the ten thousand millennia indicated previously, the unnamed creatures should be destroyed. All life not conforming to the Gallifreyan standard should be destroyed. To this end, Cardinal Rassilon researched life on two hundred and seventy eight thousand planets. Of those, sixty nine thousand contained sentient life. To those, Cardinal Rassilon sent, via manipulation of the space time vortex, a self-eradicating set of biogenic molecules with enough power to rearrange the cellular structure of each planet's dominant lifeform, so it would take on Gallifreyan physiology and would continue to evolve along those lines. All other lifeforms will become extinct within six thousand spans.
This is important lore wise, but also a lot, so i’m just copying it from the transcript, cliffnotes below
All futures become web of time, no free will → something to do with fixed points? The establishment of the web of time seems to lock events into place
Creation of universe led to creation of a race of creatures
Rassilon thinks the humanoid form is superior and so sent what’s basically a virus to inhabited planets to rearrange their forms to make them humanoid (and therefore more like gallifreyans)
I am once again asking how long a span is, rassilon has been doing this research for 70 spans and has gotten a good deal of stuff done, so it’s got to be a somewhat significant amount of time, but we also see micro spans treated like second
Rassilon creates an alternate timeline to trap the creatures → seems that it’s possible to split off a timeline and not become part of it (also it’s an alternate timeline that’s shouldn’t exist, which implies that alternate timelines are a normal part of the web of time) (also very interesting given the ‘alternative realities are not a possibility’ thing from only a bit earlier)
‘You know you really are a fraud, don't you. I mean, you let Omega and Vandikirian go to their deaths, and you get the credit for discovering time travel. Then you capitalise on your hounding to almost extinction my Vampire Lords and the Great Mother's witches’ → wow this guy sucks
Omegas star → Rassilons star, renaming of the black hole (presumably the one that’s going to become the eye of harmony) for the sake of rassilons reputation
‘Inner council’ → presumably precursor to the high council (also something something the parallels to the inner council on the alternate gallifrey)
‘You came to our world five hundred years ago’ → so even before regeneration it seems that Gallifreyans were pretty long lived (time travel does also get mentioned here, but I’m choosing to believe that it’s a lifespan thing, since we know that even within one body, time lords live a long time)
Also the way this is sort of talked about as Rassilon going on sort of victory trip that involves genocide
‘We drank the blood of the genetically bred mindless animals we harvested. We never touched sentient life until you came with your Bow Ships and your harpoons and your moralistic purges. You chased my people to the ends of the universe beyond. Why? Because we couldn't fight back. Because like all bullies, you found a race of people content in their lives, doing nothing to harm anyone else in the galaxy, and you cleansed us!
So it was less a war with the great vampires and more Rassilon just decided to kill them
Rassilon using a whole universe for power
‘Typical Prydonian treachery’
‘This is a rank place where technology has replaced any kind of nature’
I like how even though the tardis we see is the part possessed by Zagreus she is still clearly an active character, she’s trying to show Charley things, I like how they have the tardis communicating in an unconventional way given that it’s a psychic machine
Also how does the tardis know all this stuff, especially the ancient gallifrey things, because this is presumably pre matrix (and well, it’s not like Rassilon would exactly want this recorded in the matrix either way)
Amusement park built in the ruins of gallifrey → ‘A broken rock floating around a dead star. The planet was terraformed by the Galactic commission and we were settled here’ → is this an actual event? It is at the end of the universe, but then how would the tardis know this, or is it a similar concept to a matrix projection, this is what the future looks like based on compiled information and algorithms (also something something the inevitability of the destruction of gallifrey)
Wonderland built atop rassilons foundry → which means that it then exists throughout the history of gallifrey, it remains there until the end
Academy vortisaur races (yes, yes, i know this if from romana’s fanfiction, but it’s got to be based in some truth)
Brax starts his address to romana with the same formal greeting that vansell did in the apocalypse element (may the sash of rassilon protect you, etc.)
‘Type 40 tt capsule’ → i’m assuming this is the more correct/technical way to refer to tardises
‘Not dematerialized, just gone’ → can track dematerializations
‘Only the duty castellan and of course your self have transducer emitters. I assure you, we haven't had cause to use them for many years’
‘It’s the only type 40 in service’
‘There is no space time trail’ → again, they’ve got technology to track tardis travel
‘The watchtower’ → another place on gallifrey
Humaniona, peon, morestran, sumaran → all eras within time lord history
Rassilon can visit people in dreams → though he chose leela specifically, maybe because she is human and therefore wouldn’t have the same psychic barriers as a time lord would, so he is able to access her dreams
The death zone → looks like wales
Rassilons ring buried with him? → ring has power apparently
‘Well, when I say dead, his mind lives on in the Matrix’
‘Matrix waveforms not present. Etheric activity negative’ → the implication here feels like minds from the matrix can just project themselves anywhere, how pervasive is the matrix on gallifrey then, is it sort of like radio waves where you can kind of just pick them up anywhere (and is it everyone in the matrix that can do this, or only some time lords)
Okay so rassilon is in the matrix, but he is using leela specifically so that the matrix won’t see what he is doing, how does that work, also i assumed that a mind being in the matrix was more just a copy of it being downloaded, not the mind itself, but it seems that at least rassilon can act independently of the matrix (and is able to possess leela)
Can you just open matrix doors from anywhere? I mean it seems so as long as you have the right technology to do so
‘The Game of Rassilon. A barbarous pastime among Gallifrey's elite. They pluck you out of time and space, hurtle you into this province of the damned, there to fight the monsters or die.’
‘Rassilon's dead. Any fool knows that. He died screaming as the flames seared the skin from his suppurating skeleton’
The dark tower probably wasn’t sealed off in ancient gallifrey like it is now (or well, off limits, clearly you could still get into it given the events of the five doctors), this makes sense with what we heard about the game of rassilon earlier, was probably where spectators watched the games
‘My own special part of the matrix’ → rassilon has his own matrix partition
‘You stand within a sealed sub-matrix, composed not of electronic pulses but of semi-stable protoplasm’
Leela is eating part of rassilons brain, good for her honestly
You can resign the presidency on gallifrey
President is expected to name a successor, part of ‘due process’ in time lord government
‘All you needed from me was to transport Leela past the forcefield about the Death Zone surrounding your Tower, as is my Presidential privilege. All you needed from Leela was an obliging courier to bring you your ring. One whose mental subjugation would set no alarm bells ringing in the Matrix’
Presidential privilege just kind of allows her to go wherever she wants and pass through any barriers it seems
The taking over of a time lord mind would alert the matrix that something is wrong
Bow spike → early weapon, used by rassilon to destroy the great vampires
‘My Rod, Sash, and Coronet. The statue of Nemesis, the Demat Gun’ → things rassilon built in the foundry
He’s also got a frozen supernova
RASSILON: A neighbour of Kasterborous. It developed too soon. I didn't care for it.
DOCTOR: What, so you aborted it?
RASSILON: It might have rivaled our dominion.
DOCTOR: It would have taken countless billions of years to be in with a chance. A solar system still-born and for why? Because the great Lord Rassilon is scared he might not keep up with the Joneses.
RASSILON: Territorial disputes are the enemy of progress. How could our empire ever expand if all its efforts were to be centred on war after war after tiresome war? But that it what I foresaw in this instance.
DOCTOR: Oh, I see. So let's get them before they get us.
RASSILON: Something like that.
DOCTOR: Does your paranoia know no bounds?
Rassilon refers to the tardis as ‘friend tardis’ while he refers to the time lords as his children or ‘children of time’ → well, we know he created the time lords, but what are the origins of tardises then
Rassilon’s workshop separated from normal space through a reality lock, ring is used as a sort of key to it
‘Greek wasn’t it?’ → is he perceiving it this way, ro does it actually look like greek? (i’d say the latter based off of the five doctors)
‘Not just any old metals, mind.
‘Tardis metals. Validium, Namercury, Zinorganic polymers that nature has Forgotten’ → things that the tardis is made of
Romana assumes leela is less intelligent than her → time lord prejudices
They’re still calling rassilon ‘my lord’ despite the fact that he’s working against them → even as the villain that bit of respect seems to be baked into being a time lord
DOCTOR 5: Let's speculate for a moment. Imagine millions of years past that the king of an ancient civilisation developed time travel.
DOCTOR 7: Imagine this involved tapping the power of a black hole to create a single, unchangeable history.
DOCTOR 6: Imagine this king now governed time itself, governed its use, its roadways. His was the past and the present. The future, too.
DOCTOR 7: And that's the interesting bit. What would have happened if this king had not woven his Web of Time?
DOCTOR 5: Why, his empire would have fallen. They always do. A matter of simple evolution, you know. Made extinct by the next dominant species. Happens all the time.
DOCTOR 6: Oh, but the king had prevented all this from happening. His Eye of Harmony ensured that all things might neither flux nor wither nor change their state in any way.
‘They would have restructured all matter to their design’ → he says that like that’s not exactly what he did with time
Rassilon has multiple pocket universes in his foundry
Transducer emitter seems to be able to control a tardis remotely (also make a horrible noise)
Again, romana’s insistence in the tardis just benign a machine that doesn’t feel anything, even after the everything involving it in this audio → we know that the tardises are sentient and that they bond with their pilots, i’m sure the time lords know this too, so why is romana so dismissive of it
‘You'll see this blaze of light, a comet across the medulla oblongata’ → what generation looks like from the inside i guess
RASSILON: Why, the great task for which you were created. The extermination
of the Divergence.
ZAGREUS: Why? Why should I do this?
RASSILON: Because they are not like us. Because they will undo everything I have worked to create. My Eye of Harmony, my Gallifrey, my universe. The continuity I have built.
ZAGREUS: That things shall never flux nor wither nor change their state, is that it?
RASSILON: Yes. Change. Hated change. This Divergence is an upstart reality. Would you let it all die, this great civilisation? The worlds beyond? The planet Earth? Oh, but how you love the planet Earth. Would you watch it boil and die, ravaged by the uncaring hand of this other species?
ZAGREUS: Earth?
RASSILON: Earth. Oh, I have seen the Earth, seen it through the Doctor's travels. The Library at Alexandria, the Red Fort at Delhi, the canals of Venice, the Golden Gate Bridge.
ZAGREUS: I er
ROMANA: Don't listen to him, Zagreus. Alexandria burned. The Red Fort was sacked. Venice sank beneath the waves, and we all know what happened to San Francisco. That's history. That's life. That's how it goes. The time line is not yours to write.
RASSILON: Your duty is to your world, your reality.
ROMANA: No! Our duty is to the inevitability of events. Sometimes the hardest thing is not to act. To watch the things you love wither and waste and die. But if history decrees that our time is up, if evolution demands we go extinct, then so be it. You can fight the future all right, and may the best reality win, but you can't fix the competition.
RASSILON: See? See? My children cannot be trusted with their inheritance. The time line needs taking in hand, Zagreus. I have given these powers to you. Use them boldly. Get a grip on history. Take control. Better you than a power-crazed villain out for personal gain.
I know this is a lot, but it feels important to put in here
And bye bye rassilon → does that mean he isn’t in the matrix anymore, or just that fragment of him, because he gets revived later, so some of him either has to be there still or make it back to this universe
‘Still don’t want to break rassilon’s rules’ → the laws of time are just an invention of rassilon
‘Omega, a madman sold out by his peers. Morbius, Time Lord of the first rank, betrays his heritage. Borusa, my old friend, teacher and mentor, all he wants is immortality. And Rassilon. Hazbin Ref Sheets!
Tumblr media
You might have to click on it for better quality lmao.
But hello! I'm back ^^. I'm gonna be posting the fully finished version of the wip I showed on monday, but for now I figured I would post my lil Hazbin-sona Akira!
Imma make a ramble about her down here if you wanna learn more about her. If not, hope you like the art! ^^:
I was gonna make her a jackalope originally, but then I made Ruby and didn't wanna another copy. I made her a fallow deer demon specifically since fallow deer can be found in Cali, Texas, and Germany (the main places I've lived in.) Its also why her antlers have a more moose-like quality in them and spots despite being an adult (to represent my freckles.) I also gave her leg fluff since irl I tend to wear legwarmers in literally every single outfit. I was wearing them even before they started trending lmao, I love leg warmers.
However, she's not just a fallow deer demon but a vampire one! It's based around the history that vampires used to be synonymous with demons in the middle ages. I mainly decided to make her a vampire because irl I get called an undercover vampire a lot and I have a lot of vampy-themed stuff, clothes included. This outfit is actually pretty close to a real one I have. But because I made her a vampire, she has a lot of the powers vampires have been recorded to have in the past like shape-shifting (though, hers is a lot more creepy and unsettling than lucifers), fire, mind-reading, magic (witchcraft for her specifically), teleportation, telekinesis, telepathy, mind control, night vision, and my favorite addition: dream manipulation. You can tell whenever she's about to use her magic because her eyes will glow a bright green, as seen below:
Tumblr media
Of course she also has the same weaknesses as a vampire such as light and silver (meaning she can't appear on tvs, a lot of Hell's mirrors, or radios). While her blood isn't her food source as she can eat regular food, it is her magic source. If she doesn't drink enough blood or overuses her magic, she won't be able to use it again until she feeds more. She can measure how low her magic usage is based on the size of her antlers, which shrink when her magic is low. Her mind control abilities also make it so whoever she's controlling has access to her mind too, but she keeps that a secret.
Akira could absolutely become powerful in Hell, but, chooses not to because she hates having the spotlight to herself and doesn't want to use her powers for evil the way overlords tend to (though, she isn't necessarily good either. She goes by her own moral system of what she considers bad and good. However, it's a lot less enigmatic than, say, Alastor's.) Instead, she's the hotel's local psychologist! Basically, she tries to help Charlie's rehabilitaion project and take it into a more professional direction. She actually does believe in the idea sinners can be rehabilitated (some at least), but has a very cynical viewpoint of heaven and doesn't want to go herself because of it. Akira actually likes being in Hell lmao.
Most kind of forgot why she's in Hell in the first place because she isn't as out there as a lot of the hotel's residents but every once in a while they'll get a reminder why. Like whenever she helps defend the hotel, or when someone catches her in her late night runs for more blood. She's about as messy as Nifty's but as brutal as Alastor's whenever she kills. Akira definitely has a not deer, cryptic vibe to her, however, hers is in a more skittish doe kind of way. Her irises are slightly too large, but doesn't fill her entire eye like Rosie's. So, whenever she gives actual eye-contact, it can be very off-putting. They also have lucidity that animals do at night, enough that you can see her from across the hotel's hallways at night. Because of her shapeshifting abilities, she also adopts traits from other animals into her default form which is why her eyes can be kind of owlish looking. She tends to use barn owl traits the most such as twisting her neck unnaturally, or wings whenever she needs them. Sometimes she shapeshifts her appearence to be particularly creepy to scare people because she thinks it's funny. To her, anything creepy she does is a joke and not meant to be taken seriously (not that anyone else really knows lmao).
Anyways, here's a base of her for extra reference! ^^
Tumblr media
Thanks for reading and I hope you like the extra art ^^.

Do you have any hc about Damon's season 1 powers? I'm especially interested in shapeshifter!damon. The whole concept is quite fun to imagine. Also why do you think he has these extra powers? Personally after the whole lily thing I like to imagine that Damon is an untrained heretic. Also a scenario where hos powers would be revealed to scooby gang and/or the mikaelsons.
okay, okay so. Prepare for a short essay. (Sorry)
Intro!! So, in the Vampire Diaries books, vampires have Powers (capital letter and all) that feature things like weather manipulation, shapeshifting, flying, elemental control, telepathy, I think they can see auras or sense other vampire's Power. The books and the show are only like barely related. A lot was changed to make the show. (The Salvatores' ages, for one--they'd been Renaissance era men who'd killed each other in a duel over, you guessed it, Katherine. A ton of characters had personality changes (show Bonnie is better, imo), and book Caroline was an antagonist, plus Jeremy straight up didn't exist, Elena had a v young sister. So on, so forth, everything ended up super different.)
The show started off a (teeny) bit closer to the source material, but sharply diverged, including getting rid of the Powers thing. Something about it being too supernatural???? in the vampire show??? idk might have to fact check me on that one think I read it somewhere random.
But, as we know, it's heavily implied, and outright stated in some cases in early S1 that Show!Damon has access to some kind of power. Controlling the weather, controlling animals (perhaps shapeshifting, but maybe just a connection), and a long distance kind of hypnosis.
What we know about it:
In episode 1, a crow is seen following Elena around. It shows up multiple times. In the car with Bonnie, at the graveyard, when she goes to the Salvatore House for the first time. The crow heralds Damon's reappearance to his brother. Stefan says, "Crow's a bit much-" which implies this is a Thing that he knows about. Damon replies, "Wait until you see what I can do with fog."
The very first scene Damon is in, the opening with the couple on the way back from some concert (i think) it's foggy. They mention something about it that implies it shouldn't be foggy, or that it wasn't previously. Like, "What's with all the fog?" At the graveyard, Elena sees a crow, then it starts becoming much more foggy.
Bonnie, at some point, touches Elena and says she sees a crow, some fog, and a man.
It's foggy when Vicki is attacked.
So. We've established those two things. Moving on.
There's that one scene where Damon is locked up and long distance compels Caroline to free him--i think after calling the crow into his cell and eating it to gain that strength? maybe--it's heavily implied because he fed on her they have a connection he can use to influence her mind without direct compulsion.
I'm sure there's other examples, but I can only watch so much of S1 at a time.
OKAY!! now that that's been established, time for the fun headcanon stuff.
Firstly, I also love shapeshifting!Damon! Tis good fun and it lets me project gender envy i mean it's a great metaphor about vampires being inhuman!! Yes! That! Nothing else ahahahahaha. Something something, predator's perspective, something something instincts. In the book Damon could turn into a large crow and a wolf. Highkey wish they'd kept the crow thing as more than just the occasional motif. It could have been so much fun!! Crow minions!!! Crow friends!!!! Crows bothering the fuck out of people he wants to annoy!!!!! Damon trades shinies and food for things!! Somehow always has a snack on him. Crow drama??? Just casually mentions weird lil bird rivalries. Crows are Smart! They are super social!!! They hold grudges!! They absolutely have Drama on par with Mystic Falls. It could also be played for angst; Katherine announces her return with with a bunch of bird corpses in the Boarding House. Damon, who is unsympathetic to human deaths could be visibly upset by this!! Also nicely plays into the 'likes animals but pretends he doesn't bc it's a weakness' thing.
Comes home and there is feathers in his hair, nearly blending in. Except, on closer look, they're positioned oddly, like they'd been growing from him instead of just settling there. Then he brushes them off or shakes his head and they fall away. Maybe Stefan notices he's a bit more prone to tilting his head at things to get a better looks. Is a bit more easily distracted/more prone to notice shiny things.
A crow follows Elena around and maybe she makes friends with it. Or a crow comes across Stefan having some angst fest in the forest and bothers him into a better mood.
I like the heretic thing!!! I also just think the Salvatore bloodline is magic charged bc it's a doppelganger line!! They've got Silas germs!! Maybe Damon is a little bit more psychic than he should be. Maybe his compulsions require less effort and his dream-walking is better than vampires twice his age!!! Mild telekinesis would also fit in with early S1 nonsense! moving doors to creep Elena out!
As for his powers being revealed... I mean. Suddenly he's more valuable to the Originals? Not as much as Elena was, but there would prob be more recruitment efforts than in canon. Plus, Kol would be more interested in him as more than a batting target. Klaus and Elijah may press the 'saved ur life thing' more. Hm... I guess it would depend on when in the show? Early seasons and it just makes him more a threat. Stefan maybe assuming he did something to a witch??? Later in the seasons and if he develops those powers it's fun to imagine him having to learn to use/control them + having to deal with increased need for blood to fuel them. If it was a matter of him keeping them secret, I'm sure the Drama will manifest with 'how could you not tell me!!' and so on and so forth. Technically speaking, I imagine it'd be put in the same place as Jeremy's medium powers. Brought up when needed. not entirely sure, may think on it later

please oh great one, regail us with your tales of funsandman deadness levels
Yeeahheyaheyah. So Ghoul, good ol' Frakenstein's monster case, at least in that au but like in general hes just like.. i don't even know how to describe it. He's just, well, a Ghoul. Like half the time his heart isn't beating he cant control when it does hes not Dead on account of everything (for the most part) functioning normally aside from his heart and like. Being really cold. Hes not dead or half dead or undead hes just.. a little fucked up. 💀 Hes been exposed to so much radiation hes like become one with it, with the decay and mutation. It Should've killed him, absolutely, but somehow it just. Didn't. And so here he is. Radiation creature undeadish mutated killjoy. He doesn't have any special powers or anything aside from like. Having met the witch once or twice. Maybe he can see ghosts or something because hes walking that line between life and death. I think the witch absolutely hates him because shes like man youre half in my realm but youre too alive for me to take your soul get the fuck outta here. Also i think he can go like a couple weeks without eating or drinking but he does still need to eventually or he gets really weak. Also hes actually yet to discover anything that Can actually kill him for good. Like because dies he technially die every time his heart doesnt beat? Or does it not count since hes still up and about. But yeah as far as he can tell he cant die, like hes been stabbed and shot and in situations where he should've bled out but he lived, even when he lost like a concerning amount of blood, the amount to where a normal person wouldve passed out or died, but he was fine. Hes been caught in explosions, probably a few other things. But nothing works.
Mr Sandman is in a similar boat of half undeadishness but where Ghouls just.. Ghoul. And is Like That cause of radiation and desert things. The usual. Sandmans more of a literal supernatural creature. Like he's just a revenant Benze brought him back from the dead once no biggie. But now he just Keeps coming back. On his own. Hes something Else now. Im playing with a few things for him ones like. Hes possessed by something or like harbors something within him, and its like the soul of the city itself? Or like Destroya or something. Or well not posessed like hes still himself but hes like.. an avatar of this thing. Its his saint and it grants him, well i guess its technically immortality since he keeps coming back. And probably some other wacky little powers.
Another idea i have for his undeadness is yknow classic vampire. Of course. But i could also throw a spin on it with him being an energy vampire as in life force, he feeds of the life force of those around him instead of blood. And i could also take it a step Furthur and its a soul stealing situation and hes going around the city stealing souls to feed on or do something else with. He probably has weird powers like superhuman speed and strength and hes like one woth the shadows, like literally you see this guy and swear he teleports from shadowed corner to corner, he just melts into the darkness. Also maybe he has telepathy or something like it, like he thinks he just so close to his friends theyre such great freinds that he just Understand them but it turns out hes literally reading their minds. But turns out they Are such great friends because he has to be really close to someone for their mental barriers to come down for him. So the only reason he can read their minds is literally because they let him. I'm not emotional about this at all(*through tears* theyre best friends your honor). Anyway he also has some like Jedi mind judo where he cant read anyone elses minds, but he can sorta hypnotize them and influence them to say or do or think something.
Soo yeah. Sandman and Ghoul. Besties in being strange and offputting. You stab one in the heart and he looks down at your knife and goes "that was rude." He pulls it out and boasts about adding it to his collection while just spurting blood all over the fucking place, but hes not being affected by it in the slightest. He shoots you and walks off still bleeding everywhere like its just another Wednesday. It is. You stab the other one in the heart and he DOES die, he is most certainly deceased. So you leave the crime scene but five minutes later you see him again, and there isn't a scratch on him and he is undoubtedly, most certaintly Not Dead somehow. He smiles and his teeth are a little too sharp to be normal and also hes marching towards you with a spiked baseball bat.

Fun, Drama & Supernatural - Introduction
Hello there, folks \o/! Over at my Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/PsylockeX), I've started, or well continued, my stories that I play. Currently, they're on Pandasama's discord, but not everyone uses discord. So, when talking to my moots a couple of weeks ago, one gave the idea of putting my stories on Tumblr. I thought, double that and do Patreon as well.
So, this is basically a copy/pasta of what's on my Patreon cuz it's the same thing 🤭.
This story is not appropriate for under 18s. It contains strong language, mature themes and at times will have suggestive/explicit images...or as explicit as Patreon (and Tumblr) will allow me to get 🤣. This story may also deal with issues that are triggering to some. I will warn in advance if such themes are covered in a story section.
With that out of the way...I introduce THE MITSUHIDE DYNASTYYYYYY! 🎊🎊
 Jinx Mitsuhide & Caleb Vatore
Tumblr media
Jinx mastered her control over ice and cold, eventually befriending Caleb Vatore, an ancient vampire from The Forgotten Hollow. Caleb forgot to feed one day, and Jinx offered her neck. As a result, Jinx was turned into a vampire, and the two married soon after when their bond deepened. They had triplets, one of whom also has two sons with extraordinary power.
Jinx sports blue hair (which is natural by the way) and deep blue eyes, due to her ice affinity. Caleb also has brown eyes with light brown hair which he keeps tied up. In their dark form, Jinx sports white eyes, while Caleb has near-ruby red eyes.
Lin Mitsuhide
Tumblr media
Lin Mitsuhide is the oldest sister of Jinx, and the eldest daughter of the dynasty. In the years following her father's passing, she developed pyrokinesis (fire powers) as a result of her lineage. She married a man called J Huntington and had 3 sons with him. J, being an otherworldly being, relinquished his powers and passed on, after which Lin learnt he really wasn't of this world.
Lin's sons, JJ and Vincenzo, married a lycan and a vampire respectively. Vincenzo has twins, a son named Mikhail and a daughter named Audrey. Both are very powerful vampires, strengthened by the fact they are twins. You'll see one of them later.
Lin has fire red hair and deep red eyes which reflect light as a red hue. Not only can she wield fire, she can also bend minds to her will. She is one of the strongest witches to walk the earth in this era 😯.
The Date-Collette pack
Tumblr media
Sean Collette is the guy with the fingerless gloves and black hair. He's a vampire warlock, born of a spellcaster and a vampire. That vampire is Jasmine Vatore. Yes, daughter of Caleb and Jinx. Sean carries very strong genes that only strengthen as the generation goes on. His sapphire blue eyes and slotted irises in his dark form are a physical demarcation of this fact.
Guy in the grey hoodie is Kiyoshi Ito. He's the son of the Ito family that's well known in Mount K. Not only is he basically the textbook 'rich family's son', he is also a descendant of a supernatural race called The Awakened or Awoken (totally not borrowing that from Destiny 😇🤣). He sports ice white eyes and unusually pale skin, which indicates his ice affinity. Him and Sean are married to Hina, who has a daughter with Sean named Luna. (Side note: Polyamory is very common place in this story, especially among supernatural beings XD).
Now, who's the other guy? 🤔
Mikhail Huntington
Tumblr media
Probably someone you should keep away from...just saying...👀...XD
Anyway. Mikhail Huntington is Vincenzo Huntington's son, therefore...Lin's grandson. He's a vampire, and not just any vampire for that reason. Because of Lin's mastery over telepathy and psychic energy, Mikhail manifested a version of this power in a different way. He has the ability to manipulate and induce lust. Many in the supernatural community think he's really an incubus...they're wrong, but hey 🤭.
He wields this power almost too well, swaying any situation in his favor and laughing at people's embarrassed reactions. His powers work whether the target is attracted to him or not. He's able to reach into people's minds and manipulate their perception of him. So, if he want to appear to you like a bat, he'll make that happen. Regardless of his kinky nature, he's quite the gentleman and is very skilled in detective deduction. If you need something to be snuffed out, ask him. Just don't fall for his charms 🤭.
Mikhail sports red hair, inherited from his father and white eyes in his dark form. In his human form, he has blue eyes. He has a body tattoo and wears sexy chokers along with his hoodies. Due to his immense power, he also has 4 fangs instead of just 2. In addition to this, he's also part of Hina's pack 🤭.
So! These are the main players in the story. Yes, there are much more characters than this, but these are the main peeps. Next post will be a recap of the story so far. Stay tuned! 😀

no wait so what would happen for a monster AU is that while still training in the City Benze gets selected to be a member of an elite experiment — he's already shown himself willing to go out on limbs, applying for residency at the research hospital instead of a proper surgical residency, already tested things on himself when he thought no one was looking (they're always watching) — that goes wrong. and he's the only one who survives and it's because he turned on the rest. so he runs, like he does in every universe, muttering something about starlight and coffins, blood and bite wounds. he's not quite human anymore.
but the elite selection wasn't the only batch of test subjects. another test, the original even, was done on a group of captives, dissidents from the slums and 'Joys brought in from the Zones. instead of just Drac'ing them and being done with it, BLI employed them in their biological weapons program. the entire point of this was to create a living breathing force of enforcers. but it went wrong the whole way down. the first as the last time, only one survivor in the group who got away. it seems to be a theme. that survivor was a desert-born Killjoy who called himself Sandman, and back to the sand with fangs and blood on his hands he went.
when Benzedrine found himself in the desert he also found himself found by Sandman, a creature of the night, rumored to be some kind of spirit haunting the desert looking for vengeance. older 'Joys call him a vampire. what he's actually looking for is a way out for an old friend.
(I think this is gonna end up being just a vampire AU)
Donnie, as in my mainline AU, was caught and turned into a Draculoid. Sandman's theory is that turning him, like all the old vampire stories people like to pass down like folk tales, would undo that. he's just gotta find the guy first, and the masks don't really help. he finds Benzedrine at some point and there's almost an instant telepathy between them. not like, mind-reading, but these senses that they can predict what each other is thinking a split second before they say it out loud. they recognize each other as The Same Kind Of Monster. so they stick together. they both think the other is totally weird but like whatever, they're the most Other things in this desert so what else are they gonna do?
Benzedrine is the more ruthless when it comes to feeding but Sandman finds it easier. he's been out here longer. he's more willing. Benze fights it until he's in a frenzy and then tries to analyze it, figure out what precisely the physiological alterations to them that have been done are, because if he doesn't perform clinical about it he will lose all control. he's constantly teetering on the edge of going full feral vampire, whereas Sandman is chill about it, accepts it (except for in the long days when he can't sleep and he wonders what it means to be human). they're monsters, the both of them
and they're trying to add another to their ranks.
Benze is against purposefully turning someone else. Sandman needs to test his theory. there's another theme there. these kind of tests never end well.
except this one does.
Benze refuses to participate. he will feed but he will not turn someone else (until he does, in fascination, but that's another story for another time that certainly can't end well. there's mercy killing involved at that point.). so Sandman does it and pulls the mask off his former best friend and daydream mechanic, suffering from sudden whiplash as BLI programming is overwritten by vampirism. Donnie doesn't speak for nearly two weeks. it's pretty much withdrawals. and at some point they've gotta find someonething to eat.
enter one H. Shoe Crab, Esq. Donnie's cousin, a vague acquaintance of Sandman's, and the cat about to be killed by curiosity. what can he say, he spent a year tailing Dr. Death Defying's radio crew and pestering the hell out of Cherri Cola and ended up with a fascination for research and radio interviews. 'course, he can't write so it took him a while to find a working tape recorder, but now occasionally he's a source for the radio crew (whenever Cherri isn't belligerently refusing to take the offer of fresh content. they've literally had petty beef for years this is my comic relief subplot lol). he's way too curious for his own good and at some point decides to track down his old acquaintance, Mr. Sandman, former golden child of the crash track and current desert cryptid.
Crabby boy stumbles into the other three's """lair""" (as in my main 'verse, it's an abandoned firehouse, bc I find the layout and designs of those places a super fun setting to have characters hang out in skskskfjs) one day and is met with three sets of should-be normal eyes that flash red in the light. after a LONG, CHAOTIC explanation (mostly done by Sandman, because Benze is Confused™️ and Donnie is not having a fun time getting yelled at by his cousin who thought he was dead) Crab just. makes himself at home. he's like ok so two out of the three of y'all I have history with so obviously we're a crew now. so what you're all weird failed experiment vampires that's fun we should hang out. who's the nervous little guy in the corner? (the nervous little guy in the corner is, of course, Benze, who has all the ferocity of one of those little fluffy dogs with needle teeth)
(Crab is SUCH a little shit in this AU I'm so serious. I haven't had a chance to play with that side of him in my main stream of writing but part of that is because my dude is VOCAL. like he's not mute in this version and he's making that everyone else's problem fr. he's still lowkey a voice of reason at the same time though in some ways though, just... also a total TWERP. let's just say there's a reason Cherri Cola has beef with him)
so I'm thinking if I write this it would be four separate short intro pieces on each character that start out with individual backstories and lead into them all meeting and becoming a crew. it takes a while to figure out the collective dynamic, but once they do they're unerringly loyal and absolutely dedicated to each other. found family at its peak with three vampires and their human buddy/one reasonably normal human and his three vampire besties who are all in some form of existential crisis at all times
none of them want to feed on Crab bc he's THEIR PERSON but also. for added angst potential?
it might become necessary someday

BIOGRAPHY
TW: CAPTURE, ABUSE
Created 100 years after Lucifer’s fall, Aeshma was the first demon that he created. He took his time to perfect the creations and upon doing so, Aeshma and her brother were brought to life. Aeshma rose first, with her brother Dantanian shortly following. Mighty and powerful, Lucifer did not wish to see his creations inferior to that of his father, especially considering they were to be tasked with torturing the souls of the damned.
The first and the fiercest, Aeshma did not take her role lightly, she had an example to set to the younger demons that slowly came to join herself and her brother. She was responsible for many of the wars and malice in humanity; that whispering niggle within the humans’ minds, encouraging them to battle and shed blood ~ much to her enjoyment.
Whilst Aeshma did not endure the same capture as that of her brother and many others, under King Solomon, she was captured by another. She’d gone to do her duty and incite malice among some, only to be captured by one of the men and used as his “Queen.” His mark of ownership was a necklace upon her neck, and Aeshma was allowed to dress in nothing more than lingerie of his choosing. He was far from a pleasant man, starving Aeshma and weakening her so that her powers did not work on him or his men before being used for all manner of activities.
Dantanian and Lucifer were alerted by several of the angels of her whereabouts and both saw to freeing her of the man. Lucifer dealt with the human, whilst Dantanian took Aeshma to feed and return to Hell. ( It was the main reason for her brother’s feeder room at his club, along with giving those like his sister, a safe place to feed. ).
Whilst her fear of men became apparent after the events, it did not stop her from regaining her confidence and returning to Earth to ‘play’ with humanity as she had done. This time, she saw to choosing singular men above anything, preying on them and luring them into her temptations before enslaving them to do her bidding, before sending them to their demises.
She has recently chosen to split her residence between both Hell and Earth.

I just saw this, and considering i finished another part for this au (which is going to be posted tomorrow, maybe), i'm gonna give you some more information about it. Just for fun, lmao
-vampire talk
So, i kind of used Wednesday (netflix) and first kill as a reference. They look pretty normal, there's nothing in particular that makes you be like "oh they're vampires!".
They have the basic vampires traits, but for example, they're not really affected by the sunlight, so they can live a normal life and mix perfectly with humans.
As for the eye colours change, YES, THEY DO HAVE THAT! The eyes change colours for different reasons: when they go fully into their vampire-form, when they can't control their emotions or whenever they use their powers.
But it's not the same colour for everyone. Examples:
Amber's eyes turn red.
Mr carpenter's eyes turn a deep shade of blue
Christina's eyes turn yellow
And guess who doesn't have that? Tara! She has just normal brown eyes.
But keep that in mind.
This is the only thing that the freemans and the carpenters don't mind about tara. Because yes, that girl is defective, but tara being more a human than a vampire could actually be useful for their own -evil- purposes.
Anyways
As for their powers:
Amber can use Hypnosis: Useful to manipulate her victims into doing whatever she wants.
Christina has visions: think about Wednesday's type of way to get visions.
Mr carpenter power is telepathy: he can communicate with them mentally and also influence their thoughts.
-Hunters talk
In my mind they just wear normal clothes, so they look like everybody else, there's only one family that has their own scary suits but we're gonna go there later.
There are various families of hunters, but they're divided in 2 groups.
Good and evil hunters.
The reed family, the weathers family and the prescott family are a part of the group of hunters that kill only vampires who are defined as a threat for other species.
While
There's one family still alive, that has as their focal point to kill every vampire. It doesn't matter if they are on the list or not, if they're just kids, or if they're just innocent people... they want to continue the loomis legacy, and they can't do that just by killing the "evils", you need to eliminate every single one of them. And they have a very special attire: a ghostface costume 👀

– 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒; ( iwtv verse ft. @sonofmikael )
after   a   brutal   battle,   elijah   shows   up   in   full   bloodlust   mode   and   tries   to   attack   rebekah   only   to   disappear   into   the   night.   she   can’t   get   what   she   saw   out   of   her   head.   days   go   by,   and   she   can’t   even   bring   herself   to   eat,   stuck   worrying   about   her   brother.   desperate   for   answers,   she   convinces   klaus   to   help   her   return   to   the   battlefield,   thinking   elijah   might   be   lost   and   broken. but   things   go   sideways.   on   the   way,   rebekah   gets   kidnapped   by   a   random   vampire   who   ends   up   turning   her   later   on.   klaus   panics   and   bolts   back   to   the   village,   leaving   rebekah   behind. when   she   wakes   up   as   a   vampire,   she’s   a   complete   mess:   confused,   scared,   and   overwhelmed   by   her   new   supernatural   existence.   her   emotions   are   all   over   the   place. her   maker   turns   out   to   be   an   ancient   roman   vampire   who   collected   beautiful   women   and   kept   them   captive.   rebekah   remembers   living   somewhere   in   modern-day   ireland,   trapped   in   an   old,   abandoned   castle   with   a   few   other   women   for   several   years.   but   her   memories   are   fuzzy,   full   of   blanks.   one   night,   her   maker   turns   most   of   the   girls   (possibly   wanting   help   against   some   unknown   threat)   but   he   never   comes   back.   the   girls   eventually   find   him   beheaded   nearby,   but   no   one   knows   who   did   it. that   was   her   chance   to   run.   she   left   everything   behind   and   escaped   to   america,   trying   to   put   as   much   distance   as   possible   between   herself   and   her   past.   she   stayed   close   to   the   other   women   from   the   castle. once   a   vampire,   rebekah   begins   to   suspect   she   knows   what   elijah   had   become   back   when   he   attacked   her   and   vanished.   she   searches   for   him   throughout   her   1,000   years   of   existence.   at   some   point,   she   loses   faith   in   ever   finding   him—considering   how   many   centuries   have   passed,   how   few   vampires   exist,   and   how   unlikely   it   is   for   one   to   survive   as   long   as   she   has.   but   then   she   gets   a   hint   about   elijah’s   location:   supposedly,   he   was   seen   in   france.   afraid   it’s   a   false   lead,   she   decides   to   go   alone,   not   wanting   to   risk   her   sisters’   lives. when   she   finally   runs   into   elijah   again,   she   barely   recognizes   him.   she   can’t   believe   it’s   really   him.
POWERS:
as   an   ancient   vampire,   rebekah   possesses   incredible   strength   and   can   fly   effortlessly.   she   has   pyrokinesis—control   over   fire—due   to   her   age.   she   also   has   telepathy   and   mind-reading   abilities,   like   lestat’s   manipulation   of   louis   during   the   poker   game.   she   can   influence   dreams,   and   being   one   of   the   oldest   vampires   around,   she   can   even   tolerate   brief   moments   in   sunlight.
PERSONALITY:
rebekah   was   a   sweet   girl   when   she   was   human,   but   being   locked   up   by   her   maker   for   so   long   left   her   emotionally   unstable.   after   living   for   centuries,   she   struggles   to   connect   with   humans   and   can   come   off   as   cold   and   distant.   still,   people   deeply   respect   her   due   to   her   age   and   power.   at   the   théâtre   des   vampires,   she   dresses   with   elegant   flair,   perfectly   fitting   the   era.   these   days,   her   style   blends   victorian   elegance   with   modern   sophistication—a   timeless   look   with   a   fresh   edge.

˗ˏˋ ★ # VAMPIRISM 002. physiology
the following discusses the strength, weaknesses, feeding habits and methods of destruction of the modern turned vampire. it should be noted that despite having supernatural abilities, vampirism is ultimately a curse. for most, even experienced vampires, the cons far outweigh the pros for this life.
Tumblr media
STRENGTHS
SUPERNATURAL CONDITION: possesses physical and mental abilities that are unnaturally superior over others in their universe, making them immensely stronger, faster and durable. the average vampire is recorded to lift between 1,000 - 4,000lbs (approx. 450 - 1800kg), travel up to speeds to break the sound barrier and have a reaction time of 0 - 30 milliseconds (compared to humans, that have about 200 - 300 milliseconds)
SEMI - IMMORTALITY: at the moment of their turning, a vampire will stop aging. provided they aren't destroyed by any of their weaknesses, they will live forever. because of this, vampires perceive time differently than humans, especially the older they get.
REGENERATIVE HEALING: can rapidly regenerate lost or damaged tissues in order to heal from any ailments, which leads to them not aging. the timeframe of their healing varies significantly depending on the severity of the injury, however, most will have disappeared completely within 24 - 72hrs.
PERSUASION: can compel people by speaking, and the victims are almost always incapable of disobeying. this is most effective with humans but other vampires and supernatural beings feel its effect. there are extreme methods that can be used to combat this and break the compulsion spell, including intense physical pain/conditioning and temporary death.
MIND LINK: vampires share a mild level of telepathy to their sires, which links them to each other emotionally.
VENOM: vampires secrete venom that is transferred through their bite and acts as a necrotoxins. if the victim is left without getting rid of the venom, side affects will occur including: fever, confusion, hallucinations, disrupted sleep, hyperactivity, headache, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, paralysis, coma, and ultimately necrosis and death. whether or not venom is used during feeding can be controlled by the vampire themselves and not every bite will result in the exposure of the venom.
HEALING BLOOD: the properties of vampire blood has healing factors that makes it a cure - all to even the most fatal injuries. however, vampire blood does not work on diseases and illnesses and consuming too much becomes extremely addictive which can drive a human to insanity.
SUPERNATURAL BEAUTY (to an extent): a turned vampire will look the way they do when they died but when they feed on blood and are at their peak condition, they will appear “more alive” in order to draw prey in. this usually is in appearance; a vampire will have more color to them and move or speak in a way that is pleasing to whoever they’re interacting with. they also have a naturally sweet smell to them. the only case in which a vampire looks “unattractive” is when they have gone without feeding for an extended amount of time, in which they become sickly and lifeless.
GIFTS: varies from vampire to vampire but with age comes special abilities they can cultivate over time. this can range from telekanesis to levitation to umbrakinesis. some vampires may be capable of using more than one ability while others may never learn any at all.
WEAKNESSES
SUNLIGHT: like the stories, vampires do burn in the sun, especially newborns. tolerance can be built up over time (usually after several hundred years) and special "sunscreen" like medications have been developed to combat this weakness, though even then it only works for a few hours at best and will still feel excruciating. even indirect sun exposure may cause heat exhaustion - like symptoms such as nausea, fatigue and vertigo and all injuries involving sunlight can heal but will leave permanent scarring. direct prolonged exposure to the sun, even for a few minutes, will always be severely damaging or fatal to a vampire.
INVITATIONS: vampires are unable to enter a humans private property without an invitation. but once it is given, it can never be taken away unless the ownership of the property is given to another or becomes nullified through the death of the owner.
FIRE: vampires are highly flammable and can easily burn completely to ash
HOLY OBJECTS: though they cannot be killed by these, vampires can be weakened or driven off by things such as holy water or crucifixes and have a difficult time being on sacred ground like churches and cathedrals. the holy object must hold significance to someone nearby, however, so a cross worn for fashion will have no effect on a vampire.
IRON: associated with the natural world, it's been used as protection against evil. in the old days, iron nails was used to hold corpses down and prevent them from becoming the undead. while it will not kill a vampire, wounds from iron weapons take longer to heal and slow them down.
WOODEN STAKE: similar to iron, a wooden weapon can inflict damage that that longer to heal or can even completely immobilize a vampire.
VAMPIRE BLOOD: because vampires are undead, consuming the blood of their own kind is poisonous and will result in them becoming feral and animalistic, but they will not die. a pureblood vampire is able to consume the blood of other vampires, but the same ability is not applied vice versa.
METHODS OF DESTRUCTION
DIRECT SUNLIGHT: once again, exposure to the sun is a sure way to kill almost any vampire (the only exceptions are dhampirs and psychic vampires due to these classifications still being mostly human).
ASPEN STAKE: if a wooden stake is 100% made from aspen and driven directly through the heart, it will kill a vampire.
DECAPITATION: removing the head completely from the body will incapacitate a vampire, however, both pieces need to be burned to ash in order to keep the vampire from coming back to life. if not properly disposed of, a decapitated vampire will become reanimated but in a feral, animalistic way solely driven by bloodthirst. decapitation will permanently kill a dhampir even without burning the pieces.
HEART EXTRACTION: removing the heart from the body will temporarily incapacitate a vampire, but just like decapitation, both parts need to be properly disposed of. a vampire that is missing its heart will specifically feast on the hearts of their victim as way to compensate for the lack of their own. heart extraction will permanently kill a dhampir even without burning the pieces.
FEEDING HABITS
when they were first created, vampires would consume human flesh, especially the heart. over time, they evolved to survive only on blood instead, but to compensate for this, vampires require feeding several times a day in order to maintain peak physiology just like a regular human. if a vampire "overeats", blood will start seeping out of their body, most notably from their eyes, ears, nose and even through the pores of their skin like sweat. similar to a human’s feeding, a vampire can go at least a week without feeding at all, though the exact length of time varies depending on may different factors. vampires cannot truly die from starvation, but eventually will become incapacitated and go into a immobile, sleep-like state. when they are starving, vampires show their “true face”. this form is referring to the actual face of a vampire, which is close in appearance to the original vampires. a vampire’s true face is usually devoid of any color or life, turning an ashen shade with extremely bloodshot eyes, abnormally enlarged pupils and sharp, protruding teeth and nails. during this time, the senses will become even more acute due to being driven solely by the instinct of hunger, but it will also make them highly sensitive to sunlight and sounds. and because they are in a weaken state, they will not be able to move as quickly or at their full strength.
virtually all blood is appealing to vampires, but on different levels. human blood (with varying preferences from vampire to vampire) would be the most appetizing and satisfying. the blood of a turned dhampir is considered a rare delicacy; as they are still considered living, this counteracts the poison - like effect the blood of their own kind has. it is human enough to satisfy a vampire while allowing them to experience the high that comes from its healing properties. and for every other supernatural creature or animals, the appeal varies but they would do just fine. the only blood that is unfit for consumption to vampires would be the “blood” of anything celestial (demon, angels, gods and/or their children) or blood of other vampires.

Episode 1 Reactions
Below the cut, my reactions to watching the first episode of the AMC IWTV show
I want to say right off the bat I am not, on principle, opposed to changes. I will try to keep an open mind to whether those changes are made well to serve a story or purpose.
Starting with Daniel being older and having Pakinson's. This does not have to be a bad change, but it does tell me that they can't intend to do the original devil's minion plot. Part of the tragedy of Daniel's book character is how young he is, the life he could have had if all these vampires hadn't gotten tangled up in it. Him being older and having a disability makes him evoke Gabrielle to me- someone freed from poor health by vampirism. We'll see where they take it.
I will say Louis does an excellent job coming across as charming and controlled, but also a little inhuman and off.
Fan me is a little irked at them being able to be awake in daylight but it's not a dealbreaker.
I know (spoilers) that the assistant character is Armand, so I am watching that with some anticipation.
"It's a fever dream told to an idiot". I get that this show needs, as it's premise, that the interview was faulty and worth re-doing. This does the job of justifying that set up decently well. It still doesn't feel good to have the original book and first movie, which so many love as a faithful adaptation, get discussed this way. Again, the change itself is necessary, but the dismissive and insulting tone feels unnecessary.
"I'm not your fucking boy, I'm an old man with all the triggers that come with it" is a decent line but feels awkwardly acted.
Lestat's intro shot is iconic, and I'm not afraid of admitting that.
I'm glad to see more of Paul, to give more weight to his loss for Louis. Especially since other adaptations didn't include him.
That said, I feel odd about the scene where Louis pulls a knife on Paul. One could argue he was making a show of strength for the observers, keeping up a reputation. But 1) it seems like genuine anger and 2) one of the key character traits of Louis- why he initially follows Lestat- is lacking the courage of his convictions. Louis of the books is a somewhat passive character who waits for others to arrange the things he secretly wants.
Ok the Mayfair witch reference is cute and funny without being disruptive
Louis little uncomfortable look and chuckle when he's invited to confession is good actually.
❗"Only the impossible can do the impossible" I am counting this as a "I, too am impossible" Nicolas reference.
Lestat looking at Miss Lily while he mentions good food is also nice.
I feel awkward about their weird competition but I think I'm supposed to.
God Lestat is flirting so shamelessly hard with Louis.
Lestat's killing random lamplighters now? And like a feral dog? This feels like too much a change. The shot is very slasher horror rather than gothic horror. And Lestat killing evil-doers is too big a part of his character to just skip over.
The card table telepathy is cool. I think I would appreciate it more as just "Lestat thinking at Louis so they can have a conversation in what feels like an instant" or even "Lestat keeps the others from noticing time passing" than "actual time stopping powers" (as implied by the floating chips).
Lestat watching Louis as Louis watches the opera is another iconic shot.
Little peppering and sprinkling of Lestat's backstory (mastiff, rifle, Gabrielle, Paris).
Lestat looking offended when Louis pretends not to like opera feels accurate.
Wait Freniere?
Ok even the first time I tried to watch the show, I was intrigued to see the religious conflict be able to play out between Lestat and Paul.
Louis: Why would you think I was ashamed Lestat: Well you are about 100 miles into the closet but let's call it an educated guess.
Savage garden obligatory ding
❗A young violinist I once knew~
There's another good shot of Lestat reaching for Louis from behind just as Louis leans forward.
I think Louis is supposed to be eating her out but he is somewhere near her thigh/knee.
It is a benefit of the time that the show got to be more explicitly queer than previous adaptions could.
Credit where it's due, the little drink and even healing the wound with blood
Paul's death scene is emotional but, I think missing the ambiguity (in the books, it's after a huge argument and Louis isn't sure if it was accident or suicide) actually weakens it a lot. (Though the last sunrise addition makes a dark touch I think I'd like).
Like, they still have the emotional punch of Louis' family suspecting him, but Louis knows for sure.
Lestat can definitely be crass and an idiot but "Hey where'd you get your brother's coffin" seems much even for him and especially "your brother's head longed for that flagstone"
The messy drinking is just going to be a pet peeve for me. I get its a visual thing for a visual medium but it's a minor canon ruffle.
On a more serious note, I really hope the confession scene and Lestat killing the priest don't replace the later scene of Louis killing a priest himself. (Though I suspect it will, because that might be too similar/redundant for the show). In the book, it's a character moment for Louis- he realizes he's the only supernatural power in the church, and that no one will punish him for the things he thinks he deserves. In the show scene, it just makes Lestat the horror movie villain taking away his safety and community.
So glad we got punch-gore brain gibblets. (/sarcasm).
"It is difficult to explain how his words disarmed me" No you can't actually get away with telling me the thing is indescribable, because I'm not buying this quick turnaround as is. This is not a scenario where "just trust me, Lestat was very persuasive" is working on me as a viewer.
I can kind of squint at getting it as a "supernatural escape from the social forces of racism and homophobia" but like still...don't just gloss over that
LOUIS CLOSE YOUR DAMN MOUTH YOU'RE SPILLING LIKE SPOONFULLS OF BLOOD.
Lestat is definitely more antagonistic in the first book before his protagonist makeover, but even in hindsight, nothing in the first book severely contradict's Lestat's self-depiction (e.g. choosing murderers as victims). This might stretch or break that.
Also it all feels a bit rushed. Lestat is hunting Louis, yes, and it's in character for them to be a little toxic and fucked up. But going straight from the funeral to the turning scene, I feel, doesn't give a lot of time and weight to Louis wallowing in misery and inviting death, as he does in the books and movie.
-
TL;DR: Sam Reid makes an excellent Lestat. Some of the other changes I am watching warily to see how they turn out. It could be promising. They do sprinkle in little references to the canon, but sometimes that feels more annoying than actually helpful. Like, if you're going to make these drastic changes to characters' personalities and ways of being, it doesn't super help that Lestat said the words Savage Garden. That doesn't give you adaptation points.

James was right. He was always right, but especially about vampire things. There were a lot of positives, a lot of excitement to what Homelander was becoming. He had far more in common with James, and able to truly understand his vampiric nature. While the thought of bloodwine didn’t bother him, it was nice to be able to enjoy it together. And for James, he had more vampire company now. He wasn’t alone in that aspect.
The moment he felt those hands in his hair, Homelander began to relax and melt against his lover. James’ soothing voice only aided that further as eyes closed and the Supe curled up, snuggling in. “You’re my sanctuary.” He muttered softly in agreement. James always knew how to calm Homelander’s anxiety, ease his stress and make everything better. Bearable. He was relying on James even more now, to guide and help him through his change into a hybrid. There was no one else he’d trust more with this sort of matter.
Eyes opened as Homelander looked up to his maker, hooked on every word as he was told about the bond. He had no idea just how much power it gave, how much control. James could turn him into his puppet if he wanted, control his every step, every action. Withdraw his free will. It was a rather terrifying prospect, reminding him of the bad room all over again. Yet he knew he was in safe hands with James. Not once had he ever sought control or even power, but rather to support Homelander with his own agendas. “Oh. Well…in that case I’m glad and relieved that it was you who made me this. I think I’d prefer death if it were otherwise…” He mumbled with a frown, hating the idea of being someone else’s slave. Again.
Though, as matters shifted to connection, Homelander eased some. He and James had a very deep bond already. The idea of that becoming even more was a comfort he didn’t know he needed. He watched as James closed his eyes to focus. He stayed still, just watching curiously. And then he felt it. That sensation, that touch. It made him look down at his hand as if James had moved…except he hadn’t. It felt so real, the contact. And then that warmth that spread through his chest, a warmth that brought calm and love, sincerity, care. It was like Homelander was feeling all the emotions James had for him, telling him through the bond rather than with words. And it went deeper still, their minds opening to one another, thoughts drifting back and forth, collecting as one. It was a strange experience and yet…it felt right. Felt like home.
The revelation that he wouldn’t be alone ever again, that James wouldn’t either, it made his heart flutter. “And we…can communicate through this bond? Like our own private phone line?” He asked, rather loving that idea. “All the more reason for me to be glad you were the one to change me. It seems fitting, in a way. It makes this…feel all the more right. Even if it was unplanned.” He whispered back, looking up at James with pure love and devotion.
Of course the topic shifted to powers. Homelander was keen to know what new powerful things he’d be capable of. He listened closely to James’ words, taking note. The way James explained everything always captured and held Homelander’s interest better than anyone else ever could. “So…there’s a chance I might not be able to do either.” He mused to himself, wondering if he’d be able to given that he was a hybrid and not full vampire. Though, it seemed that was something for far far down the line. “Well, it’s probably for the best. Having super hearing as well as telepathy might actually drive me insane. You having that power as well as thralling has done us well this far. So, I don’t see the desperate need to possess it myself.”
Tumblr media
He was content with what he had, with what he was. It was more than enough for him to deal with for now, never mind certain tricks that also may come along. Though he did appreciate the support and advice, smiling at the kiss to his forehead. He didn’t argue when told to rest, the hybrid happily snuggling in and nuzzling against his maker as he closed his eyes. “Mm. Being spooky and mysterious is your thing anyway. I’m fine with the loud and proud approach.” He mumbled with a soft laugh, making it clear he had no intention of being sneaky and stealthy. That was all James, not him.
“I love you.” Homelander whispered as he shifted just slightly to take one of James’ hands and press a kiss to it. He then held it close to his chest as someone would a plush toy, snuggling back in. He wasn’t exactly tired, though it was nice to just rest in his lover’s embrace, enjoying the calm and peace he provided. After a while of silence, there was a low rumbling sound that could be heard, an indifferent sound, hard to place. Like it was new and never had been made before. Homelander didn’t even comment on it, oblivious. Yet the sound was very close, so close that it seemed to come from Homelander himself…
