i don't mind i'm more than happy (??) to cry about it together 😭😭😭

honestly i'm going full denial lmao i have so many years of experience in pretending canon doesn't exists that this doesn't really hurt that much? mostly bc i was spoiled as well and assumed this would happen though i kept hoping they'd do better. moral of the story is don't, i guess 🤡 also i'm taking it with humour and focusing on my tragic waybabe feelings, which also helps.

i've said this before too but i think i was too focused in what i love about pit babe and actively ignoring its flaws, which means when i had to face them. it hurty. it's not a bad thing i think bc i'd rather enjoy it while i can, and i loved the journey and theorising and crying shaking screaming with everyone every week, but it still doesn't feel great when the last ep comes around and this happens. (sorry this is super obvious but i used to binge watch shows after they ended so this is kinda. not new territory but yes for thai bl and for tumblr bc i came back in december to properly immerse myself in fandom!)

asdjasfldlaskfdjf i have genuinely never taken any of the asks into *my* origin story seriously because I'm sure everyone would prefer I focus my waning attention span onto the boys but this is...the third one LOL and I've been cornered into revealing what The Scene was that one shot KO'd me into this life - two years and counting 😭 And while that BTS you linked is excellent, my friend when I talk about Khaotung pinned underneath First on that judo mat, I am literally talking about the scene in the show

On August 19th, 2022 I watched The Eclipse Episode 2 Part 4/4 as it was being released because I was playing hooky from work for unrelated reasons. I saw Khaotung say "What's wrong Bigfoot. You're tense" and then that mind numbing little "Hmm?" I called my then best friend like "Oh no, I'm in trouble." Proceeded to talk about this for an hour; of which the way Khaotung said "Hmm?" took up at least 15 minutes of that convo (/one sided monologue). You have to understand that all I knew about them at the time was TonChon, Not Me, that one Poddkhao cooking with mommy Offgun episode where Khaotung's mother calls podd her son in law and the EM group episode where Mix calls First Khaotung's best friend.

But I felt it? Whatever it was. The cosmic expanse that their feelings for each other occupies - I felt it, I felt it in this poorly lit scene of First and Khaotung jostling. Every thing I didn't know about them but would go on to find out over the next two years?

I felt it.

I don't know how to explain it. I knew - even before I found out that Khaotung has an immersive approach to acting, that they feel goosebumps and heightened emotions when they act together - that the depth of the connection between the characters that I could see on screen wasn't just the characters' own.

Everything I found out about them came after, including the clip you sent where Khaotung does look like he's falling in love. I mean, I felt something that was clearly there. I spent the first six months of stanning them totally unable to decide whether I thought they were great actors or terrible ones, because every Akk and Alan and Ayan and Gaipa came with a little edge that never stopped feeling like First and Khaotung.

Love in the Big City: Book Club Schedule

Okay, besties, here we go! Turns out a lot of you are into this nerd project so we will in fact be doing a little tumblr book club for LITBC! Here's how it will work:

We will begin on Sunday, February 4, and discuss a different section of the book each week.

On Sundays, @bengiyo will post a list of discussion questions for whatever part we're reading that week. You can use these as prompts for thinking, actually write and post responses to them, or just ignore them and do your own thing.

We will all write or share whatever we like during the week, using the hashtag [#litbc book club]. Everything from simple reaction commentary to full on essays is welcome. It's also fine not to post anything yourself if that's not your thing, you can participate by reading and sharing other people's posts.

Each following Sunday, I will post a roundup of everything people wrote during the week so we'll have them all collated in one place, and Ben will then post the next round of discussion questions.

This means we are going to be on the following schedule for reading and discussing:

Part 1: Sun, February 4 to Sat, February 10

Part 2: Sun, February 11 to Sat, February 17

Part 3: Sun, February 18 to Sat, February 24

Part 4: Sun, February 25 to Sat, March 2
