the resolution to the talk between ruby & yang in 'risk' still kills me inside; because if there's one thing the writers are good at, it's making it very very clear when an emotional talk like this has a good resolution. the kind where you can feel the weight being lifted off their shoulders, the mood taking a turn to be significantly brighter; you can see it with yang & weiss, with blake & sun, with ruby and qrow, even with ruby & yang as they reunite in the ever after as ruby makes yang feel better.

'risk' isn't that, though. it is ruby holding back tears as much as she physically can even as she accepts yang's hug and it pains her. there's no weight lifted, no brightened mood; it's just pain that quickly gets unnoticed and forgotten as once again, something else takes the center stage.

and it's been well over 3 years and i'm still not over it.
