Why do people posting criticisms of shows post them under the fandom tag? I’m not talking about people who like the work but have a few small issues with it, I’m talking about the people who hate it and feel like telling everyone who likes it that they hate it.

I swear the rule of thumb is “tag it if people filtering that tag want to see it”. I don’t want to see a post telling me you hate a show I like. There’s a criticism tag for that if you really feel the need for it.

really you could just not continue consuming media you don’t like just for the purpose of finding issues with it, but that’s a different problem

These statements (and statements like them) entirely miss the point. Liking problematic media does not make someone problematic. Supporting problematic media does not make someone problematic. Where things cross the line is when someone is unwilling to acknowledge said problems. However, it is completely unreasonable and actively harmful to assume that an entire fanbase, or any given individual fan, is problematic just because whoever created the media in question is a bad person. It's the same logic as bigotry, where you assume one thing must apply to a multitude of people when it doesn't, and I'm tired of pretending it's not.

Canon/Headcanon likelihood chart

So I've been thinking about @macdenlover 's "levels of headcanon" chart (about how heavily a HC is influenced by canon), so I decided to make my own scale about how likely a HC is to be true (including different levels of canon) using queer cartoon characters as examples :)

I just spent an hour making this because I was bored. Enjoy. Image description under the cut.

It always fascinated me that when trans people took hormones, they. Worked. I mean this PURELY from a biological standpoint. We think of "male" bodies and "female" bodies as so different, but the reality is they just aren't. A human body will know what to do with the tools you give it, even if it's never had those tools before.

Put testosterone in a "female" body, and it'll know how to grow a beard. It just will.

Put estrogen in a "male" body, and it'll know how to form breasts. It just will.

It doesn't matter what the "original" sex was, a human body is a human body and it knows what to do. We were never different. We just think we are because we think it makes more sense. But it doesn't. I make way less sense, actually.

I think that's fascinating and kind of beautiful. Honestly

And I never thought the place to explore this line of thinking thoroughly would be a Hazbin Hotel mpreg fanfiction but HERE WE ARE
