I didn’t have time to draw something for Halloween, so here’s this old drawing I did a while ago of Meta Knight as Captain Picard/Locutus of Borg from Star Trek: The Next Generation that I feel somewhat fits the Halloween theme. I call him Locutus of Borb.

#Kirby #Kirby fanart #my art #Meta Knight #I don’t think this looks very good this was one of my first Kirby drawings and I was still figuring out how to draw everyone #I’ll probably redraw this eventually but still wanted to share this since I didn’t have time to draw anything for Halloween #aside from being a Kirby fan I’m also a big fan of Star Trek I’ve seen all the shows and movies #and I see a lot of parallels between Star Trek and Kirby #literally the whole plot of Planet Robobot is just the Borg storyline in Star Trek lol #for Kirby fans who don’t follow Star Trek the Borg are a collective of cyborgs that can essentially mechanize other species #they appear as recurring antagonists and attempt to assimilate other species into their collective against their will #and once they’ve assimilated a person they can influence that person to do their bidding #in The Next Generation they assimilate Captain Picard and turn him into Locutus of Borg so they can use him to try and assimilate Earth #it reminded me a lot of what Susie did to Meta Knight in Planet Robobot so that’s where the idea for this drawing came from #I’ll have to draw more Star Trek and Kirby crossover stuff there’s a lot I can work with for crossovers lol #like Star Trek straight up has a mirror universe full of evil versions of the characters that’s literally just Amazing Mirror #and the episode of the anime where Dedede gets the Scarfies as pets is basically just the Tribble episode from Star Trek #anyways happy Halloween please enjoy Locutus of Borb

#Kirby #Kirby fanart #my art #comic #Meta Knight #Nightmare #sorry this page took me so long to finish I’ve been really busy with grad school stuff and was at a conference last month #but it’s finally here and page five shouldn’t take me as long to finish as this page did #the comic is mostly centered around the game lore and not the anime lore but I did borrow a little bit from the anime #this might be a dumb question but do any other Kirby fans have voice headcanons for the characters?#by voice headcanons I mean what do you think they’d sound like if they had voiced dialogue #for Meta Knight and Dedede I think they’d just sound like they do in the anime since those voices are so iconic lol #I know that Nightmare also speaks in the anime but I don’t really like his anime voice #I’m showing that I’m a Trekkie with this lmao but my voice headcanon for Nightmare is that he’d sound like Ricardo Montalban #Montalban died in 2009 but he was famous for playing Khan in Star Trek he was so good in that villain role #but that was in the 1960s and 1980s so if you aren’t a Star Trek fan you might not be familiar with him #he also plays the grandpa in Spy Kids though and I think he was also in Kim Possible #I actually see a lot of parallels between Kirby and Star Trek lol but maybe that’s just me and no one else sees it #I’m developing an idea for a Susie redemption arc comic that I want to draw when I finish Knightfall in Dream Land #and if I do eventually draw it it’s going to be very heavily influenced by Star Trek/there will be lots of Star Trek references in it #Planet Robobot as a game basically is just a Star Trek episode lmao it has the same plot as every Borg episode from Star Trek #so I think referencing Star Trek in a comic centered around Susie would make sense #Knightfall in Dream Land

Tumblr Mobile wouldn’t let me upload videos directly so I uploaded this to YouTube instead and am sharing the link here. I’ve been putting together voice headcanon videos for various Kirby characters. This is part one, which has my voice headcanons for Captain Vul, Bandana Dee, Sailor Dee, and Nightmare. I’m also including explanations for why I chose the voices that I did under the cut.

Clancy Brown as Captain Vul: Clancy Brown is the voice of Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob. I feel like that’s all of the explanation that this choice requires lmao, Vul reminds me a lot of Mr. Krabs.

Nancy Cartwright as Bandana Dee and Yeardley Smith as Sailor Dee: I headcanon Bandana and Sailor Dee as being siblings, and since Cartwright and Smith happen to voice a pair of siblings (Bart and Lisa Simpson) I thought that their voices were fitting. I could also see their voices working for Waddle Dees in general and not just for Bandana and Sailor.

Ricardo Montalban as Nightmare: Ricardo Montalban passed away in 2009 but I really like his voice for Nightmare so I still included him here. I wanted to make Nightmare actually sound intimidating and wanted to give him a Spanish accent since I have a headcanon that he raised Meta Knight/Meta Knight speaks with a Spanish accent from growing up hearing Nightmare speak with one. Montalban was famous for playing the villain Khan in Star Trek (if you’re not into Star Trek you may also recognize him as the grandpa in the Spy Kids movies) and he was really good in that villain role, so I felt like he’d be a fitting choice.

Are there any other Kirby fans on here who are also fans of Star Trek? I know of a couple people already, but I’m trying to see if there’s anyone else. I personally see a lot of parallels between Kirby and Star Trek, and some of my Kirby fanart is Star Trek-inspired, so that’s why I’m asking.

Are there any other Kirby fans on here who are also fans of Star Trek? I’ve met a couple of people on here who like both, but I’m trying to see if there’s anyone else.

I’m a big fan of Star Trek and I actually see a lot of parallels between Kirby and Star Trek (some examples of this are they both have mirror versions of the characters and the plot of Planet Robobot is just the plot of every Borg episode from Star Trek). I also like to include Star Trek references in my Kirby fanart (like making a reference to the Vulcan philosophy IDIC/Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations in my Meta Knight backstory comic) and I was wondering if anyone else in the fandom likes to do stuff like that in their art or writing. Where are all of the Kirby Trekkies at lmao 🖖
