i think people have forgotten the art of vibes-based enjoyment. not everything has to be explained or perfectly planned out or morally correct. sometimes it's okay for a book or movie or show or whatever to just be fun and sometimes that's all a piece of media should be. just fun for the sake of fun

#erin rambles #i'm bored of people acting like they occupy the moral high ground simply bc they've torn apart a piece of popular media and deemed bad #or pointing out every plot hole like it's a glaring mistake #i'd like to think i'm a pretty smart person #I pick up on major themes and recurring motifs and all that fun shit #and I think it's fun!!#I think they're important and cool plot devices that are fun to pick out #but not everything is going to be a perfect work of art #NOR SHOULD IT BE #it's like everyone has divorced themselves from the concept of suspension of disbelief #and I weep for them #and this is coming from someone who fucking digs on Greek myth #the majority of what i've read this year has been Greek retellings #so I can get down with the classics and all that philosophical school assignment bullshit because that was my life #I like to observe and debate messages #but sometimes you should just fucking turn your brain off and read something that's categorically Not Great #something that's silly or dumb or just filthy #and still be able to recognize the value in what you read #because as long as you enjoyed it the text inherently holds value #ugh #I've been thinking about this for a long time can u tell

Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

Relistening to Stolen Century and am still so in love and obsessed with how immediately Justin is enamored with Lup. He finds out Taako has a sister and he's so intensely in love with the idea of her. Griffin drops her first line of "Nerd Alert!" and Taako is on the floor laughing- Justin sees the vision and he knows the vision and he's IN IT. HE LOVES HER. TAAKO LOVES HER. AUGH.

Griffin knew exactly how to play it, and Justin was on board before Griffin could even say jump. Its just insanely beautiful the way Justin latches onto it, because Yeah. Because Yeah, if Taako had a sister he'd be obsessed with her. They'd be obsessed with each other. A perfect duo that doesn't always agree but who bring the same energy to the table. Lup is the perfect accent to Taako. They balance each other. They're the Twins. And he loves her so so so much.
